When I see people arguing about Buck/Tommy and Buck/Eddie, I think of “Moonlighting,” another 80s TV show that the screenwriters are probably very aware of.

The first three seasons of “Moonlighting” were fresh and sexy and exciting. Then Maddie and David had their big moment (named by TV Guide as one of the Top 100 moments in TV).

It survived for two more seasons, but it never had the degree of storytelling and tension and ANTICIPATION that it had during the first 3 seasons. It no longer captured viewers because the story had reached denouement.

So, let Buck have his Tommy. Let Eddie have the rest of this season and into the next to figure out how to be alone (without looking for “a mother for Christopher”) and who he really is.

Let us anticipate the bang, rather than go out with a whimper.

i did finish my book today btw it was Dead Cat Tail Assassins and it was Fine. I don't think that author is for me, but I did enjoy it more than Djinn. There just. wasn't too much to say about it lol it had some funny bits, I liked Old Man, I didn't like how every time a new assasin was introduced theyre like "we don't know their past!" as if thats not a core part of being one of the Dead Cat Tail Assassins. The end was fun! The end was silly but it fit the rest of the book! It also left me saying ʷʰᵃᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠᵘᶜᵏ which is always fun! I find myself more excited to read The Spellshop though. Maybe it was the wrong vibe for the moment. Don't know. Don't care to read it again.

find us alive: in a horror setting, has horror elements and some parts that skew heavily towards it, but those elements are moreso to express the results of things like isolation, neglect, abuse, etc: the anomalous, and all the horrors of the foundation, are horrific because they are equivalent to animals being locked up and starved, and it's no wonder the -2s or the d-class act as 'scary' as they do given their living conditions. the real horror is tragedy, both predictable and unpredictable, and the capacity humans hold to neglect and hurt one another hymns for the road: flesh billboard flesh billboard FLESH BILLBOARD FLESH BILLBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

both being used for their abilities, eventually knowing their self-worth and the path destined for them with the help of someone realizing that for them and reaching out to them. both being snarky and learning not to take anyone's shit. being lost at an all too young age, wondering what they're worth for, what is it all for, why they're accursed with such twisted dark abilities if it meant that they'll only be used for it by others against their will? both holding someone, their agencies, near and dear—their one sense of belonging, and the risks they're willing to endure for themselves if it meant their safe spaces are still there in one piece. both having way too much knowledge of the bodily anatomy and have this odd sadistic side; they would bond over that, their conversation is in desperate need of censoring

I need someone to write a fic where Buck and Tommy’s relationship is in some way altered (for good or bad, for HEA bucktommy/Tevan or for Buddie, que sera sera) when they realize that they both dated Abby.

(And yes, there are a couple out there, but I really like this trope. Extra brownie point kudos for some good Abby-bashing.)
