The one
Chapter one: the one where Buck comes out
Warnings: slight language, nervous and insecure Evan Buckley, Papa Bear Bobby
Pairings: Buddie platonic Bash (Evan Buckley and Bobby Nash)
Summary: Buck has something very important to tell Bobby it could be the most important thing that Buck has ever done in his life.
It was eight in the morning both Bobby and Buck had the day off.
Buck was currently pacing the porch not ready to knock on the door yet. There was something on his mind and he was really nervous about it.
Bobby was currently sitting at the kitchen table enjoying his second cup of coffee. Completely unaware that Evan was on his front porch pacing back and forth like a nervous expecting father.
Finally Buck got up enough courage to knock on the door. He knocked softly at first and then gradually started to knock a little harder each time he knocked.
"Hold your horses I'm coming I'm coming. You're lucky that I had at least one cup of coffee in me."Bobby grumbled loudly as he made his way to the door opening it slowly.
"Um hey Bobby. Could we maybe talk over some coffee it's kind of important."Buck said really quietly as she rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet.
Bobby nodded his head a look of concern crossed his face as his brows raised slightly. Bobby let out a little sigh opening the door wide and stepping aside allowing Buck enough room to enter.
"Buck come on in we can sit at the kitchen table. Now I want you to know you can tell me anything. But, I wish you would have waited a little later so I could have been more awake for this."Bobby said with a little laugh trying his best to lighten the mood.
"Thanks cap."Buck said nervously as he entered the house and followed Bobby into the kitchen Buck immediately grabbed a cup from the cabinet and started to pour himself some coffee into it putting just enough creamer to color it and a little bit of sugar in it.
Buck sit down at the table nervously stirring his coffee not saying anything but looking directly at Bobby.
''Evan hey look up at me. What's on your mind I can tell something's really bothering you." Bobby asked gently offering Buck a soft smile trying to ease his nerves a little.
Buck looked up at Bobby he shook his head a little he looked like he had been up all night. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes a moment opening them up slowly.
"Bobby I discovered something about myself well a couple of things. There's something that I need to tell my parents and Maddie. But, I wanted to tell you first because well you're more of a father to me than my actual father is if that makes any sense to you."Buck said quietly looking at Bobby with sad puppy dog eyes.
"Hey Buck you're starting to scare me a little bit. What's on your mind is it something bad?"Bobby asked seeming to get even more worried about the young firefighter in front of him.
"It's um not bad at least I don't think it is." Buck closed his eyes and took another deep breath before continuing.
"Bobby I just um found out that I'm Bi and I think I may be in love with my best friend. I think I may be in love with Eddie but, I can't be in love with Eddie he's my best friend. What if he doesn't feel the same way about me, also I don't know if he's into guys like that." Buck let out a nervous breath taking a drink of his coffee his hand was shaking slightly.
Bobby smiled a little and his eyes seem to get a little twinkle in them. Bobby also let out a sigh of relief happy that Evan came out to him and happy that at least one of his unofficially adopted sons admitted they had feelings for one another.
"Evan I want you to know I'm glad you came out to me and I'm proud of you. Kiddo you can come out to your family whenever you're ready to or you don't even have to. But, I know Maddie will be supportive of you she loves you so much. I think you should tell Eddie how you feel you might be surprised. I think he's madly in love with you. You should see the way he looks at you when he thinks no one is looking." Bobby said with a big grin on his face.
"I mean maybe you're right. I should probably tell him but I'm also afraid that if he doesn't feel the same way that he might not want to be my friend anymore." Buck said quietly taking another drink of his coffee he was starting to relax a little bit and feeling a lot more at ease than he did before.
"I mean yeah there is a chance if he doesn't feel the same way that it could ruin your friendship. But, even if Eddie doesn't love you romantically he loves you at least as a friend and I don't think that would ever change honestly. You need to take your time and do what you feel in your heart is right for you to do. But, you don't want to wait until it's too late if you really love him like you say you do you should tell him because I think he loves you too."Bobby was now smiling ear to ear he was really happy. He was happy that Buck was finally comfortable enough with him to come to him with his problems.
"I think I might actually tell him maybe even tomorrow. I'm going to go now because I have a bunch of things I want to do. I want to thank you for listening to me and thank you for being there for me."Buck said softly finishing his coffee, getting up, putting his cup in the sink, and stood in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Buck I want you to know that I think of you as a son. You can come to me with anything that you need help with and I'll try my best to help you. I'm glad you were comfortable enough to come out to me."Bobby said softly looking at Buck with the softest look that was ever on his face.
"Thank you so much."Buck said softly as he walked out of the kitchen and out the front door.
Buck spent the rest of his day off going over in his mind what he might say to Eddie. He was trying his best not the chicken out.
He was madly in love with Eddie and he loved Christopher like he was his own son but did Eddie really love him back?
Buck went to bed wondering how he would tell Eddie the next day how he felt about him.
To be continued....
