10. What's the one thing that inspired you to make drawing your consistent hobby?

Nothing. There was no inspiration. I started drawing when I was old enough to hold a crayon and never stopped, because I can't stop. It's just intrinsic to who I am

But I know that's an unsatisfying answer, and also art is my career rather than a hobby, so for a slightly less unsatisfying but still kind of anti-climactic answer: I became a professional artist because I wasn't "good enough" (read: I wasn't interested enough to put in the effort to get good) at anything else. I actually wanted to go into zoology, but after doing 4 years of marine bio and absolutely hating all the aspects of it that had nothing to do with animal science, I decided I never wanted to do math or chemistry ever again. And then I was a teenager with undiagnosed depression and anxiety and ADHD and autism and the very concept of a muggle job was fucking terrifying to me. So I stayed home and let people pay me to draw their dog people getting frisky instead lol

Week 2: Elevator Pitch

In today’s workshop we’ve been tasked with coming up with a concept for a platformer game. After tossing up between a few different ideas I decided I would like to attempt to create a Foddian game. Foddian games are generally vertical platformers, similar to the works of Bennett Foddy, such as Getting Over It, and other games inspired by it like Jump King and Pogostuck. I find it fascinating how these games can be so incredibly frustrating yet still feel very satisfying to play, so I’d like to try to gain a deeper insight into the reasons behind this through practice.

Today we were tasked with coming up with name for our game concept, along with an elevator pitch, some images to further illustrate our vision for the theme/graphics, the controls used for the game and 3 unique selling points for our games.

The name I decided on (for now) is MechaLauncher, which is very on the nose and may need some tweaking in future. My elevator pitch for this game is;

MechaLauncher is a Foddian-style vertical platformer, similar to Jump King, but you use your cursor to hold and launch your character instead of having a jump button. The game has a bright coloured retro mecha theme, like 80's Gundam anime or 2000's Studio Gainax work, but in pixel art.

The game is played using A and D or left and right arrow keys to move side to side, along with using the cursor to click and hold where you wish to launch your character. I aim not to include a jump button because it seems redundant to have both jump and the ability to launch yourself, but I will reconsider later into development which one feels better.

My 3 unique selling points for this game are;

1. The launching mechanic

(I cannot name any well-known platformers that use this mechanic off the top of my head.)

2. The Foddian/vertical platformer element 3. The theme/aesthetic of the game

(I definitely have not heard of any retro mecha-themed vertical platformers.)

The target audience for this game would be people from approximately age 13-30.

My favorite crossover multiverse trope is when characters from shows with dramatically different art-styles interact and one deems the other really weird and/or ugly looking. It's a great meta-gag and an interesting metaphysical concept I wish multiverse stories played with more.

Colored a sketch I did of bucketofROBOTS 's Angin. I felt watercolor would be fitting, so that's the style I went with and I'm mostly happy with it. 

 Also a silly bonus doodle, the vision of "skinny Angin, but with huge buff arms" popped into my head and I had to do it

« i lysol you » sakusa x reader smau

summary: the miya twins younger sister leaves for tokyo in order to join the junior nation gymnastics team while also studying at itachiyama institute . 

twenty-three | twenty-four

sakusa caught glimpse of you, sitting near the booth set up for the badminton club, a bright red stain on your shirt and tear stains on your cheeks.

“kiyoomi!” you popped your head up like an eager puppy and he came by you. you didn’t expect a sudden outburst of affection from him, so just him placing his hand on your shoulder was enough to make your heart thumb.

“alright, the bathrooms are there.” he pointed not too far behind you, shrugging off his sweater and giving you a plastic baggie, he instructed you to go change.

you nodded and it wasn’t long until you you wre adorned in his hoodie, standing with him not too far from a larger group of people.

looking down at his hand, you desperately wanted to hold it. there was now no time left to get to another spot to see the fireworks but you were content as you were.

“i’m sorry we couldn’t get better spots.” sakusa apologized as you shook your head.

“kiyoomi, can i ask you someone thing?” he looked at you, signally for you to proceeded, “it’s okay if you don’t want to but can i, uh hold your hand?”

a blush and formed on your cheeks and the tips of sakusa’s ears began to burn. which, to him was a weird feeling because if it were anyone else asking to touch him he’d feel nauseous.

without properly answering, he slipped his hand into you, almost making you jump. looking back up at him, you mentioned how thankful that the two of you could spend time alone.

“i’ll have to take you on a proper first date, though. when you get back from romania and nationals are over i’ll take you back to that café we went to.” you smiled widely at the idea, giving his hand a little squeeze to let him know how happy the thought had you.

turning your gaze back to the sky, the first firework had been let off— exploding in bright purple and red colours. sighing of relief, you found yourself leaning onto sakusa.

“isn’t it so beautiful?” it was a rhetorical question you’d asked half way through the show. what surprised you though, was how sakusa chose to answer.

feeling his fingers on your chin, he tilted your head to that you were looking directly into his eyes. he wasn’t wearing his mask anymore and you could see the hint of hesitation.

he leaned in, placing a passionate peck on your lips, making your heart explode similar to the firework show you were watching. between that and the sounds of the display and your heart beat climbing up your ears, you’d almost gone deaf.

“i hope that was okay, i guess i haven’t done that before.” you were start struck at his words, wanting to feel the soft nature of his lips once again.

looking up at him through your lashes, you beamed.

“it was great... and i wouldn’t mind doing it again.” sakusa’s cheeks were dusted pink as he leaned in once more to kiss you, for longer this time.

you knew people could see and that the itachiyama gossip account would have a field day with this but you didn’t care because you got your happy ending. you got sakusa kiyoomi.

i hope everyone enjoyed this series and i’ve learned a lot from making these social media au’s and i just wanna say that i’ve already started work in on the other one. w out saying to much ill let you know it’s about a certain rooster head captain. so if anyone wants to be added to the tag list from now just let me know lol.
