Primarina Facts

-The scientific name for Primarina is "Otaria Symphona" which roughly translates to "Symphonic Little-ear"

-Primarina are mustelids, and their closest relatives are Dewgong and Samurott. Surprisingly, this means that they're also related to Pokemon like Skuntank and Furret

-The bubbles that Primarina makes are made from snot and mucus. The explosive ones are made with hydrogen and other gases

-A group of Primarina is called an Opera

-Primarina live in colonies with other members of its line. It's led by a lead Primarina who leads all of their songs

-Every once a month, usually on the full moon, Primarina will perform on beaches. These wre major tourist attractions for anyone visiting the Alola region, and it's popular for wild pokemon too

-Primarina developed their singing abilities as a way to attract mates and to lure in prey. When trying to attract mates, Primarina will gather in large crowds where a Primarina (male or female) will perform a mating call. The Primararina who like the song will then mate them. The same kind of courting is used with Lapras as well, making crossbreeds between the two very common (here's a Lapras crossed with a Primarina!)

-There are old beliefs of Primarina using their voice to lure sailors to their deaths. Despite this being popular in stories, there's no records of this ever happening

-The entire line is Crepescular, meaning they're active at evening and at night

-When courting, male Primarina will give the females gifts like seashells and pearls. Primarina that have mates will carry around said items; sometimes putting them around their naturally occurring pearls as well

-Primarina most often lay their eggs in water beds (place underwater between two objects to make sure something doesn't float away). Popplio have a lot of blubber and will float up while instinctively swimming to the surface for air as well. They'll let their mother know they hatch by giving a unique call

-They're piscovores, so they only eat shells and fish. They'll use their calls to lure in fish mon

-Primarina gained popularity worldwide after the movie, "The Little Primarina," used a Primarina as its protagonist

-Unlike Popplio and Brionne, Primarina have both lungs and gills

-Primarina's hair feels very silky. It's kept clean by natural gels they secrete. It's very thick due to naturally living in the ocean

-Primarina colonies are often matriarchal and lead by a grandma

-Primarina's voice is the most important part of them, and things like battling and communicating are impossible without them. It's important to take care if their voice, like using throat sprays and letting them rest their voices properly after battles

making of: Lexi's prompt was of Dolphin Bomber balancing on a bubble being balanced by his Brionne sona, I suggested Dolphie could be laying on the bubble instead, giving this touchpad sketch to show what I meant

now her brionne sona was already designed, but he wanted me to give it a anthro body type similar to how I did Dolphie, I wasn't sure if I could come up with something nice-looking but after getting a little more creative with brionne's frills I got something we both were very happy with (purple sketch)

Alternative popplio line

Brionne and Primarina are perfectly fine, though I wish Primarina pushed the siren thing more with an species from the Sirenia order, but I kind of wished that the evolution went with a more circus theme and used a hooded seal inspiration more so I made this

From that seal starter that everyone hated for no reason to a clown hooded seal to a ring master beach master. I know I said that I wish poppilo leaned into a hooded seal evolution but I'm biased towards elephant seals and made the final evo one.

The Honking Pokémon

Abilities: Torrent (Hidden: Psychic Surge or Rivalry idk)

Height: 3'11" ft 1.2 m

Weight: 284.617 lbs 129.1 kg (actually don't know :|)

Seacus are pokemon that try to present shows to entertain people, often honking thier horn made from a shell and bubble they made. Miraculously everyone who watches these shows in person loves the act and often rewards them with food.

Seacus inflate thier nose and ruffle thier frills to show dominance. Often the one with the bigger nose has the higher authority. These pokemon can honk thier horn with thier telekinesis, a common trick in circus shows.

Height: 8'02" ft 2.5 m

Weight: 592.886 lbs 268.92 kg (actually don't know :|, I can't imagine the weight of thing)

Ringipeds are rulers of colonies of Popplio and Seacus, them having shared a telepathic connection. When thier territory is being encroached by a rival ringiped, they send immense amount of psychic energy from thier staff to attack the rival. If the bubble in thier staff bursts it causes immense psychic damage to all but the owner.

Ringipeds are pokemon who commonly appear in circus acts, often displaying psychic acts and saving acrobats who miss the net with thier telekinesis. Ringipeds are automatically the highest rank in thier colony. Conflicts between Seacuses are often broken up by Ringipeds showing thier authority by inflating thier nose.

Below are concepts for female versions because sexual dimorphism, shinies, and the better looking sketches

Wanted to make sure that despite not having a unique nose that the female version is interesting enough to not ignore

I wanted to replicate the ring master coat but I had a coloring issue with the female one which made me have to turn the undershirt pink which I do not like. Also kept the pink from popplios shiny because it looked cute

It is not perfect but there are good things. Swimming how long I want without worrying about breathing is nice and having a good singing voice is nice too. Feeling the air on my sphear ears is nice and making bubbles can be really fun.

uh advice on singing moves? Since you trained a primarina...

Primarina is beside me helping out with this.

Singing moves are all about technique, no matter what you are working on. You need to sing with your whole body, not just your throat. When you are first learning, it's best to copy techniques of wild primarinas singing rather then the battle masters. You need to master singing with proper posture before you can work on incorporating it into the dance of a battle.

As a brionne, Primarina struggled with breath control. It's easy to belt out all your air, especially between controlling bubbles. To help, she practiced singing under (shallow!) water , so that she couldn't try to take a breath in between notes.

Caring for the throat is extremely important for a brionne. Avoid battling pokemon that have irritating smoke, such as koffing while you are still training. Steam and warm liquids can help soothe the throat. You should also take vocal rests, where you spend time not making any vocal noise.

Sparkling Aria is any primarina's signature, their evolution move. You quite literally cannot evolve until you master your song. It's a lot of pressure, but I have every faith in you!

A man wants to be a silly little guy with fun bubble powers and so transforms into a popplio and has lots of fun playing with bubbles. His friends make jokes about how he'll turn into a girly primarina, but he denies it and laughs it off; he's not some gay sissy!

But, after enough time as a popplio, his body is adapted enough to be able to evolve. And hey, brionne have better bubble powers, and their dancing is really pretty... cool. It's pretty cool. Men can dance! And brionne's frills don't look THAT much like a skirt, it's just for moving better in water! So he evolves into a brionne, and has a wonderful time swimming and playing and dancing with bubbles.

He even starts hanging out with others of the popplio line, playing around with them, sharing dances and bubble tricks, and... watching the primarina perform. Their voices are beautiful, and the way their bubbles dance alongside them, flowing with their song, it's just magical! Wondrous! Gorgeous! He talks to them after shows, praising their skill and expressing his wonder, and eventually there comes a point in each conversation where they ask him why he hasn't evolved yet. He finds his answer less convincing each time.
