A man wants to be a silly little guy with fun bubble powers and so transforms into a popplio and has lots of fun playing with bubbles. His friends make jokes about how he'll turn into a girly primarina, but he denies it and laughs it off; he's not some gay sissy!

But, after enough time as a popplio, his body is adapted enough to be able to evolve. And hey, brionne have better bubble powers, and their dancing is really pretty... cool. It's pretty cool. Men can dance! And brionne's frills don't look THAT much like a skirt, it's just for moving better in water! So he evolves into a brionne, and has a wonderful time swimming and playing and dancing with bubbles.

He even starts hanging out with others of the popplio line, playing around with them, sharing dances and bubble tricks, and... watching the primarina perform. Their voices are beautiful, and the way their bubbles dance alongside them, flowing with their song, it's just magical! Wondrous! Gorgeous! He talks to them after shows, praising their skill and expressing his wonder, and eventually there comes a point in each conversation where they ask him why he hasn't evolved yet. He finds his answer less convincing each time.
