There's like such a weird idea that bi people are like inherently less capable of gender nonconformity as opposed to "gay people" bc like we're More Straight or whatever. Like to use a very, very This Website example, there's really no space for bi women who do the "calling themselves a boy and a guy and using theythem or hehim pronouns without being a man" thing, since bc ur bi that's considered like "nblm" or whatever and as we know this website defines "nblm" as "nonbinary people I think are men". Literally any "weird/fucked up genders" lesbians can have bi women can also have is basically my angle here

Ok I know this isn't re related but I had a idea that I thought could be interesting!
Ghost from cod with a trans ftm reader he really likes but they are hung up over some woman from before they joined the military and because of that they haven't been with anyone since, and Maybe ghost proves (😏) to them that they don't need some civilian chick when they have him, "could she make you feel like this" type stuff
Also bonus but I would really appreciate it if they were described as being around the same height as him. Also like how most operators have they're country flag they have a trans flag instead. Also it would be cool if they were a masked operator too, (you can ignore all this stuff this was just extra stuff I thought up wile daydreaming about this😵‍💫)
IM STILL ALL GOOD WITH DOING NON RE REQUESTS BTW

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley x FTM! Reader
Cw: Suggestiveness
You sat in your barracks on your phone. You had your ski mask on with your usual black compression shirt and green camo pants, a usual lounging outfit. You were currently alone in your barracks looking at pictures of your favorite fling. Before you went to the military you were interested in asking her out. She had nice blond hair, pretty eyes and a nice body. You looked at the pictures you had of her on your phone before you heard the door creak open.
You look over to see Simon with his gear on, presumably back from a mission. He didn’t say a word as he began to change out of his heavy tactical gear. You looked at the man intently then back to your phone once he was changed. He looked over to you noticing you on your phone. “What are you doing?” He asks curiously. You set your phone down on your chest looking up at the celling.
“nothing special.” You spoke looking back over to Ghost. “Apparently it’s something.” Ghost spoke sitting next to you. “You’ve been on your phone for awhile. Your usually never on your phone.” He spoke raising an eyebrow under his mask. You looked at him with an amused look through your own.
“I would say I’m shocked you noticed that but I’m really not. But seriously, it’s nothing special.” You spoke with a shrug. “Looks like it. You’ve been obsessed with your phone lately.” He looked at you, you still had your eyes on the ceiling. “As your lieutenant you understand it’s my job to make sure your focused and on your best behavior right?” He spoke with his usual stern tone.
“Yes sir.” You nodded as you looked over to him. He grabbed your phone from your hands curious to see what you were so focused on. He looked at the woman on your phone then back up to you. “Is this your source of obsession?” He asks curiously. You nod a bit embarrassed and annoyed at his grab. You take your phone back putting your hands behind your head.
“Who’s she?” He asks looking over at you. “Girl I met before I joined. She sent me a text and I can’t get my mind off of her.” You spoke honestly not daring to lie to your lieutenant. “So your caught up on some girl?” Ghost asked as he looked at you with curious eyes. “Well I mean when you put it like that-“
He gives you a stern look. You sigh, “Yeah, I am caught up on some girl.” You muttered looking away. He leaned over you, “like I said, as your lieutenant it’s my job to make sure your focused and on your best behavior.” He said leaning closer to your face. You take a sharp breath looking at him with nervous eyes. “And that means by any measure.”
He grabs your belt as he tilts his head. “Come on, don’t waste your time on some civilian girl. There are so many things I could do that she couldn’t dream of.” He leaned down lifting your mask up a bit. “She could never make you feel as could as I could.” Ghost mutters into the crook of your neck. Your pulse quickens as you smile.
“You think so?” You ask with a raised eyebrow. He snickers. “I know so.”

Contradictory label culture is merely existing in a way that isn't conventional enough to have been considered by coiners.
Multigender people especially are affected (like me I'm multigender.) How can you be nonbinary and a girl? I'm multigender, they are my genders. How can you be midbinary, binary, and abinary? I'm multigender, which label I use depends on if I'm talking about myself collectively or just one of my genders. How can you be cisgender and isogender? Because my aporinity is not cis but is distinctly transn't. But I still relate to cisness because of my being a girl. How can you be enbian and a woman? I'M MULTIGENDER!
It's sad that multigender people basically can't win with sexuality labels, like seriously, I think it needs more rep in media because of it! And someone who ..I don't think was exactly multigender? I think genderqueer? They said something SO simple (no offense) it was being sapphic and Achillean, but it was on tiktok so you know even simple "contradictory" labels are weird to them (there were good comments, btw) but still, someone genuinely thought "sapphic = lesbian, Achillean = gay" I'm sorry WHAT
That's the whole reason for the term sapphic and Achillean!! It's so that multisexual people feel included in wlw or MLM without people saying "lesbian relationship" while one of them is literally bisexual or pan or omni etc!! HOW did they think sapphic was lesbian??
Of course, (TikTok wouldn't like this) but people can be gay and a lesbian (Gaybian) BUT even if you couldn't, you can be wlw and MLM!! It's SO simple and I can't people TikTok was rotting people's brains this much.
And again, it's like multigender people can't live with a sexuality!! I'm gonna go over a few.
3: "erm abrosexual!!" No?? Did they say it was fluid, my guy?? No?? Not every multigender person is genderfluid and not every genderfluid person's sexuality is fluid!!
2: "Gynesexual!!" Yeah you would want someone to just use a term that's basically woman romantic, right? No offense to people who are Gynesexual, but there is absolutely no rep for it anyway, and guess what? Lots of people feel connected to the lesbian label. (Believe it or not, someone pulled out Gynesexual and abrosexual when debating me on my sexuality. Not this next one tho)
1 (absolutely number one goes toooooooo): "that's just STRAIGHT!!" Boom we have a winner!!! 🏆 Of being the dumbest exclusivist! Maybe this should go on r/one joke or r/one comeback!!! Am I right?? Here's several reasons why they wouldn't be straight.
First off, actually tell me how you think a woman loving woman is straight. "Well it cancels out cause you're a man too!!" No it doesn't. That's just multigender transphobia, or @transmultiphobia-discussion (hehe had to tag them, sorryyyy) trans multiphobia! But actually thinking that it's crazy a woman would call herself a lesbian cause she likes women is CRAZY (reminder! Multigender CAN be straight, I'm just pointing out the logic)
And again, it's like double the gayness if they also like men! It's wlw and MLM! That's SO gay! So how the hell is it wrong if they're gay?? And it's like hell ok earth if a monosexual multigender even breathes, like GOD.
I just wonder what they'd say if a multigender person said they're straight so uh... If you want to rant about someone who hates multigender lesbians/gays that also hated straight multigender people... Tell me!

- Klaus needs help getting a witch on his side for the purpose of wolfsbane, which was running low. The best idea coming into mind bringing along Elijah as ... .a form of reinforcement.but things do always take there turns
-Hey guys just a btw I’m still new to all this stuff so bear with me!
At least to say she did not sleep well that night, the rain was pounding. Her dressing room walls for a matter of fact weren’t helping. The cheap wooden material the walls were made out of was sure to break sooner or later, she was sure of it. “God damn Mikaelsons” she muttered tired and her eyes fell into a dump slumber.
In the little makeshift club, Klaus played poker with the owner, his old friend Smith. Smith had known Klaus back in the late 30s, after Klaus had turned him, taking pity on the old man in the state he was in. “So back to cause trouble eh?”Smith said putting down his cards to show a full house a full house. Klaus laughed a little, “No, no ... .well maybe but I’ll be forward with you, I am in dire need of more information about your little witch sensation Y/n” Klaus said still acting to consider putting his cards down. Smith smirked, he was sure he had won the game when he saw Klaus hesitate, he did win, Klaus had two cards and lost.
“Well, what about her? She's a show-stopping natural who gets my money flowing in” Smith said shrugging and glancing over to Elijah who was watching the storm outside from the small window but still intently listening.
“How did she end up working here? To what degree is her power as a witch? Most importantly how are we to trust she has a good flow ... .of wolfsbane” Elijah said his voice carrying out through the dimly lit room. Smith scoffed, in his mind, Y/n was nothing more than a girl who had a few connections and could do a couple of tricks with her magic but he did enough a lot about her past.
“Where to start, she left home when she high school finished early and didn't want a part of her father's life anymore even though she loved him, her father was a hunter. hunted vampires, werewolves, and even witches he deemed a threat. Her father had this moral code, or more like a stick up his ass” Smith said, grabbing a couple more hundred and throwing them on the table. “I think you two would get along Elijah,” Klaus said smirking, digging in his wallet for more to gamble on. He could always get more anyway. Elijah internally gave the biggest eye roll. “As for Y/n she had a knack for dancing and singing I let her join. Well for her dear father his moral code got him much respect, you would know a lot about that noble ass but...unlike you, he wasn't immortal. Unfortunately, he met his match. That was for sure the man well ... had a bloody end and I mean that in every way possible.” Smith said, shaking his head, his eyes full of pity. “That young woman, the witch you are currently preying on, was left with a very broken heart, her father was everything to her and he left her with everything. The house, the weapons he left behind, and loads of vervain and wolfsbane. But I suppose you could say she also has a sense of moral code drawn from fear. She stays away from all these things related to the supernatural world afraid she will meet the same end as her father. As for her power, she isn't the most skilled and does know a few things here and there to make sure she's safe ”Smith said and put down another full house beating Klaus again. A wide grin went across the old man's face, he loved winning. “There's more to the story but I wouldn't know she doesn't talk as much as I am making her to be,” Smith said, grabbing the cash he won, and stuffing it into a jar. Klaus didn’t care much about her backstory or the fact he lost about a thousand dollars to this stingy man. he needed to know her weak points and he could later on use her father against her Klaus hoped.
Elijah listened to the revelation, a flicker of pity went across his face for the woman, it outshined his annoyance a bit.Although Elijah knew that his brother would use this against her, he knew it was necessary. “How long since the man’s death?” Elijah asked, turning to look at both of them. Smith thought about it for a second tapping a finger to his chin. “6 years ago” Smith said, getting his cane. Fair enough time for her to process it, but yet again everyone was different Elijah thought. It wasn't enough to truly feel bad for her though, she was just another witch, right?
The next few days Y/n was on edge and didn’t know how she was going to get back home. Her fears were too strong to go alone. She couldn’t do it; she needed someone but everyone she called was picking up so she resorted to asking her boss, Smith. Back years ago he had helped intentionally to pack up some things and he wasn't the best person ever but she could deal with it she told herself. After the performance, she went to his back office. Which smells worse than the place itself. He was sitting counting the money he made from that night putting it in 15 different piles for the 15 different performers. “What” he said, his voice gruff.
“I’m assuming that hybrid tyrant came and spoke with you,” She said. She entered the room fully and closed the door. “He did, what about it?” Smith said, his eyes not once daring to get a glance up. “I need to ask a favor. I need someone to go up with me to my father's old estate, I can't go alone, I was praying that you could,” She said. There was a shear of uncertainty in her voice, she could almost feel the no coming out of his mouth.
“Not a chance,” He said, annoyed. “I don't have time and with you going on leave for a week I need to find someone to replace your ass, you think I'm just up and available just cause a vampire is threatening your life? Get.in.line his presence is threatening everyone” Smith said annoyed and maybe even pissed off. She frowned, she knew he was a rude old man, what more could she expect? “Then who the hell am I to ask?” she said
“Not my problem”
“It is your problem because he isn't just going to kill me he's going to kill you too if he realizes you didn’t help me” She spat back at him.
He finally looked up, he looked lifeless in his eyes. She could tell his jaw was clenching.
“Fine” he gritted out.“Talk to his brother, the noble guy”
An even bigger frown grew on her face. Elijah, she didn’t like him and she sure as hell if she had any other choice was going to spend a total of 7 hours back and forth from her dad's house. Maybe she hated his power, maybe his stupidly attractive face but it didn't matter.
She let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding after a long moment of silence
“Where can I find him?” she asked.
“You familiar with the French Quarter?” he asked, leaning back in his seat. “Great,” she thought to herself. This family was more of a pain in her ass than she could think, from where the club was it was a good 20-minute drive. “Yes,” she said annoyed
“There's a bar right across from it, you’ll catch him there around 7..and if you're lucky, maybe even 6:30!” he said with fake enthusiasm, and then within seconds a huge frown
“Get out!”
She left and slammed his door shut with anger. The next following days she was now packing her bags and getting ready to confront the man who had his head way too far up his ass. “Where are you heading off to?” Rory said. She was leaning on Y/n’s door frame as she caught her packing up.
“What's it to you?” she said
“Well, you seemed mad when you left Smith's office the other day can’t help but think, are you finally fired?” Rory asked, a big smirk plastered on her face. Y/n was annoyed, of course, Rory wanted her fired, and then her competition would be gone. “Never knew you were this greedy Rory, and here I thought you just suck off the audience for more cash and I mean that in every SENSE,” Y/n said getting her last bag and turning around with a neutral face
“Whatever you say, your time is running up and I'm not the only one who knows that,” Rory said, her smirk not flattering. It was clear that Rory knew something that she didn’t. Was Y/n going to get fired? Did she hear the Mikaelsons talking to her? All questions that Y/n quickly kicked out of her head. She had one goal right now, it was not to entertain Rory and her endless shenanigans.
══════════
After basically speeding her way through the streets she made it back to the heart of New Orleans. She quickly parked and got out rushing to make sure she wouldn’t miss the original. Like Smith said he was in a corner drinking some fancy drink. Elijah had seen her before she even walked in. He was curious to see what she wanted. “Well Mr.Mikaelson unfortunately we have to meet again,” She said sitting across from him. “What do I owe for pleasure?” He said putting the drink down, licking his lips slightly from the remains of the liquor. “Your brother is desperate for Wolfsbane right or did I miss it when my life was threatened?” she said, clamping her hands together. She was giving him a pointed look which amused him further.
“Well yes, he is, now why are you here? I am going to make this clear. I am not one for negotiations, miss Y/l/n” Elijah said, his voice firm. Elijah stared right at her. He didn’t like how unreliable she was being at the moment, and it was causing him to think twice about why he even gave her his word. He also couldn't ignore the fact he would talk about bargaining with her for how undeniably gorgeous she looked at the moment. “I’m here to ask if you will come with me to my house,” She said getting to the point. She was already pretty nervous about it but put on a brave face. Elijah smirked, finding his entryway into a little teasing and fun.
“So straight forward” Elijah teased. Y/n realized what he was insinuating and got annoyed, like very annoyed. It was shown all over her face. Of course this man of cocky enough to assume that.
“No, I don't want you 6 feet near me or my bed if I had a choice by “my house ". I mean my dad's old home, that's where the wolfsbane is and I can't go alone. Let's just say my dad had a lot of enemies that didn’t like him and naturally they don't like me.” She explained to him lying through her teeth. Her dad probably killed every single enemy he had before he met his fate.
“Bold of you to assume what's what I meant,” Elijah said, the smirk growing wider.
“But I do have to ask why me? Don’t you have someone else?” Elijah asked, and this time he was sincere about it. He knew she was lying but decided not to tell her yet. He wanted to see how this would play out but from her point of view, it still looked like by his face he was playing with her. She couldn’t decide between smacking him or kissing him, out of anger.
“Because I have no one else I can trust at this moment and let's just say the person I did go to gave me what he says is a wake-up call,” She said and sighed “Will you do it or not?” She asked. Elijah looked at her, in his mind he was thinking of all the ways this little witch could surely stab him in the back, and take advantage of the situation but on the other hand, he could do the same to her. “How far is the drive?” he asked, tapping his finger on the glass.
“7 hours back and forth,” she said. Not too bad” Elijah thought, though the car ride could go two ways. She could be a pain in the ass or just quiet. He was hoping for quiet. “Well, I suppose I can dwell on it, how about this if I decide to go with you I'll be here tomorrow at 6 in the morning waiting outside this very bar. ” He said, leaning in his chair. "What do you mean to dwell on it?" she asked. "I mean think about it, it might not have occurred to you but I have responsibilities waiting for me, and the person that needs my most protection at the moment," Elijah said, he hadn't forgotten about Hayley for a moment. "Ohh, I get it you're looking after that girl who's carrying the miracle baby," Y/n said it all coming together. "Why? she's not your responsibility."She said, now crossing her arms. Elijah's eyes narrowed slightly. "She is, I made it my duty," Elijah said, getting another sip of the drink. "Why are-" she cut herself off. She didn't want to know why, she didn't need to know either. "Fine, think about it if you will," she said, slightly mocking his accent and getting up. He then did the same and straightened his cuffs to the suit. She got up to leave and he grabbed her wrist right before. “Do let me make one thing clear with you, I am being very cooperative at the moment. I wouldn’t see this type of mercy from my brother. I do encourage you not to try playing any games with me when it comes to well-being if I do go on this little trip of yours because it won’t be good for you” Elijah warned stepping closer to her. Her heart was starting to pound. “I can’t even put a scratch on you. How stupid do you think I am?” she asked in a hushed tone. She could see a few eyes from the bar staring at them. “You’d be amazed at how many idiots walk this earth,” Elijah said smugly. He let go of her, letting her get her bag.
“6 AM, I won't be late. I hope you do show up,” she gritted through her teeth. turning around and walking away out of the bar. Elijah got up and followed her. It felt like freedom when she took in the fresh cold air outside. Until she realized he was behind her. “And I am most certain we will meet again” Elijah said behind her and when she turned to look he was gone. She cursed under her breath and walked off.
“Be careful” she could hear whispering as she was walking but no one was there. She knew it wasn’t Elijah, it was those goddamn ancestors

I NEED! THIS AU!!! (Sk and mob one)
No, seriously, your work is amazing, i am waiting happily for it!
Quick questions!
1. Will Saiki or any other Psychics from SK be integrated on the AU?
2. Does Kokomi meet Ritsu at some point?
3. Will Saiki meet our favorite conman? What would their interactions be like??
Thanks for the attention! I really like your writing btw!!
1. Will Saiki or any other Psychics from SK be integrated on the AU?
Absolutely. They have a much smaller role since the focus is more on Teruhashi being put into the Mob Psycho Universe, but they certainly exist and have met some of the Mob Psycho cast by pure coincidence. (Kokomi is very secretive of what she does for work).
They attempt to be like mentors to the psychics in mp100 but quickly find out that a majority of their advice is bad and also that they're so much weaker than literally all of them.
Also, it's really hard for any of their advice to beat Reigen's. Aiura tries to teach Teruki about the wonders of tax evasion, but he has to break it to her that not only has Reigen given a much better lecture but also gave him a detailed pamphlet on the pros and cons of dodging your taxes.
As for Saiki himself? He plays much less of a physical role, but he's still very much there. After all, who do you think makes sure that none of Teruhashi's stalkers even know that she's ever been to Condiment City? Or purposefully makes Makoto get lost while trying to go to Kokomi's job after hearing about the incident?
Plus, Mob is a very big part of Saiki's character development, though Saiki is a very minor part of Mob's life.
2. Does Kokomi meet Ritsu at some point?
She does! He goes to Spirits and Stuff to pick up Mob for some reason and is immediately dazed by Teruhashi's beauty. Once the initial reaction wears off, his first thought is that Reigen kidnapped a woman to work for him.
She introduces herself and insults Reigen in the same sentence. The two immediately begin bickering leaving Ritsu to weigh the possible theory that this is Reigen secret love child who he had with a woman that was much better than him in every way possible.
He leaves and attempts to gather evidence to prove one of the two theories. He only finds out what her actual relation to him is after the 7th division infiltration arc.
3. Will Saiki meet our favorite conman? What would their interactions be like??
Alright so imagine Ritsu and Reigen's relationship. Except Saiki can't be openly hostile to Reigen because he's too naturally polite and he can't use his powers to fuck with him because it'd fuck with Kokomi by extension and that'd be too bothersome (he really doesn't wanna upset her).
But Saiki doesn't trust this man a fucking bit. Even if he mentally gives our favorite con-man points for punching Makoto, literally anyone with a brain would do that if the opportunity arose.
It isn't until he hears Reigen's famous speech on how psychic powers don't make someone special, that he begins to let himself see parts of Reigen that aren't skewed with distrust.
He still won't let himself fully trust Reigen, but he respects Kokomi's decision to do so. He owes Teruhashi that at least.
-
EEEEE! THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!! Also thank you for the attention as well, I thrive off people acknowledging me.

Howdy friend! I feel like that meme with doctor eggman that just walked in on rouge and shadow having a spirited discussion on something I have no pretext about. But it sounds important and I do wanna educate myself if there's a lacking somewhere, genuinely. From what I understood from scrolling down to a screenshot poll and other screens, it's trying to figure out if people are automatically taking frat boys (the classic stereotype kind, btw, genuinely players) in good faith by queer-ifying them because they have been fortunately unfortunate enough to not have the life experience of being used by this type of person that will take their good faith and hurt them?
Because I do think that there *could* be a cishet aro man out there, if it's defined very explicitly as: a man (born with a penis and identifies as he/him) and likes women (including trans women) and is aromantic. Face value wise, that is.
Because the question wasn't if the hypothetical man was superstraight (and don't count trans people at all) or just pussy-seeking (i.e. looking to have sex with ciswomen and trans men who haven't had bottom surgery, is explicitly Not transphobic). Or if this hypothetical man wasn't also, say, a "friend" met at a party/tinder/hookup/through mutuals/etc that is really just an acquaintance with little of substance genuinely known...or if this man was actually what one would consider a genuine friend. Or if this hypothetical man was poly (and/or if you were poly honestly, this feels like this is being framed in a mono mindset, which is okay! But poly adds extra details to account for). Also if he was out as aro.
The point is, I am aware of cheating. I am aware of using terms to get around cheating. Or trying to justify it. But aromantizim by itself isn't cheating. Poly by itself isn't cheating. FwB by itself, or hooking up by itself, or sex work by itself, isn't cheating- if there is informed consent on both sides with all affected parties, which includes all other partners. Wanting to sleep around isn't a crime, regardless of who or where or what gender.
I know there's plenty of men that aren't allies, that are homophobic or transphobic or sexist, but that wasn't the question. You aren't making that distinction or posing a scenario, just a screenshot without any added distinction other that the consent (after it was asked for by voters). It's taking the assumption that practicing genuine safe sex ( not that bullshit abstinence thing schools and "god fearing Christians" teach), is limited to only cishetero men... And not something to practice with everyone.
It shouldn't matter my gender or background or beliefs or sexuality, since these are simply opinions and all opinions come with grains of salt, but I know if I don't add context of me being the one giving these opinions, I'll be discredited.
I'm a cis-women (so very petrifiyingly aware of that Fear/wariness of being approached at night by strangers, or followed. I don't like ANYONE strange coming up to me, regardless of gender, a woman can stab me as much as a man can rape me, but I feel like I know the mindset extreme examples being presented here so there were go).
I'm demi-omnisexualromantic. Everyone's free game once I get to know them on a genuine emotional level. We HAVE to be besties (or we have to never ever see each other again if I'm gonna sleep with you and you're not a friend, oh gOD WHAT IF I FART OR THEY'RE A SERIAL KILLER OH GOD).
I'm poly. The first thing is with my girlfriend and our paramour, since we are the "oringal polycule" is had a sit down discussion about what we agreed upon what being in a relationship is like (we happen to be romantically and sexually attracted to each other btw). It was Poly from the start and Open from the start. We are all okay and open to each other going out to bdsm clubs or kink parties or sleeping around, or if asking out cute people..... BUT we have to ask permission/inform the other partners in our polycule. There's nothing to hide and they consent. They can say no, and that's okay!! Because then!! We can have an open and honest discussion as to why (lonely, conflicting plans, insecurity, safety worries, etc). Also also, anyone new that's meant to become a fwb or a pet needs to know about and meet our polycule, and it's a one-no situation here. If *anyone* is uncomfortable, nothing goes forward.
Sex is nice, sex is great if you're a freak like me and into that sorta thing; and sexual safety awareness and stranger danger awareness and informed consent awareness is MAJORLY IMPORTANT AND CRITICAL AND EVERYONE SHOULD BE TAUGHT THIS IN SCHOOL OH GOD but in my humble opinion the execution has spiraled into something messy with rampant misunderstanding and accidental invalidation of aro-spec men, poly people, and our allies,,, as well as anyone trying to be open-minded even if they dont understand.
Telling people that they're naive and ignorant isn't going to teach them a lesson you appear to feel strongly that they need to learn, it only shames and makes them not likely to actually follow the good advice (?) that's being presented in a not-clear format.
And it also earns you a buncha people getting angry because they don't understand the question actually being asked because the context wasn't clarified or what the actual answer is in a no patronizing manner/delivery,, and I'm sure you're feeling very much harassed and exhausted for answers that have little to nothing to do with your actual question, and I'm really sorry for that because I've been there and I hate this for you because it's exhausting and dispiriting to find people who never got taught how to keep themselves safe... But I'm also happy that they haven't had to learn it the hard way *yet* and that I can still help, or even that the people I was so stressed over not having the lesson... Actually DO know the answer but just misunderstood the question or that I just asked it confusingly!!
Anyway, sorry for the extremely long ask, double sorry if I misunderstood anything you were trying to say or explained anything that you already know. But if you could clarify in your own words and time, I would be very grateful! If not, that's still okay and I hope you take care of yourself out there, friend! Also, I'm on anon less because I'm ashamed of my opinion, and more because I don't want anyone else randomly messaging me back because they don't like me for my views online and I happen to really like this account dghjfedhjfdsjk
oh my god i thought there was a character limit on anons. what am i even being asked here? i literally just woke up and opened my inbox and made this face

On Birdo's Gender
Heads up this post will quote manuals and website descriptions and by no means supports the messed up language in it. It was wrong then and it is wrong now, this post is purely for educational purposes. Also, this is meant to be a useful tool to use against people who try to use this Pink Dinosaur to be losers all while clearing up any actual confusion.
So... appearing first in Super Mario Bros. 2 USA, Birdo first gets the following description in the manual. "He thinks he is a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth. He'd rather be called 'Birdetta.'" But it is a bit different in the Japanese version than in the localization. "Katherine, thinks they are a girl and spits eggs from their mouth. Calling them Kathy puts them in a good mood." So while the Japanese manual isn't as bad it is still not great. The reason for this Japan isn't the kindest to trans people. Many people themselves in Japan will use pejoratives to refer trans people, mislabel them, make "jokes" at their expense, and yes misgender them. Look no further than that one Metroid developer interview where a developer called Samus Aran a newhalf as a "joke." This information provides some context on why Birdo is treated the way she is not just in the West but in Japan itself. Btw as a side note on this idea of "jokes' this also might be the reason the Mario series uses Luigi wearing Peach's dress as a joke so often. To the point they made this description for Luigi which can be interpreted as implying some things about Luigi. "When Toadette finds one of these, she can transform into the super-powered Peachette. (Sorry Luigi-only Toadette can use this item!)" Note, the Luigi thing is a maybe and not guaranteed, this is just speculation. That aside, let's move on.
Shows up in a Japanese commercial where she has a deeper voice, which is points to the obvious fact that she is intended to be trans. Side note, trans women can have both deep and high pitched voices, and thus this depiction of Birdo can go either way here.
Next up is a description of from the Double Dash Japanese Website. 「ヨッシーの彼女に見えて実は彼氏!?」 "Birdo appears to be Yoshi's girlfriend, but is actually his boyfriend!?" This is some more of that yikes moments when it comes to Birdo and how they are treated.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Popple appears to almost misgender Birdo but ends up not doing so. This seems to be a decent depiction of her. Now some people believe she is being deadnamed, here, however Birdie seems to be just a pet name she likes being called.
So at this point people on this topic typically bring but the next thing and call it a day, but I have more here to bring up. So some people bring up Birdo's Brawl description, but it is irrelevant to this topic because Smash Bros. is not canon.
Next up Birdo's BS Super Mario USA depiction. As mentioned in a previous post, Birdo has sisters. This also makes some decent treatment of her and her sisters. In addition the Super Birdos are voiced by Jun Donna, Rika and Akemi which are all trans women if I am correct. If I made a mistake at all here let me know. In addition they all have deep voices. See the video BSスーパーマリオUSA パワーチャレンジ 第1回 from the channel kukun kun.
Now Birdo in Paper Mario: Sticker Star Birdo sings a song. “Heart of a woman, heart of a man… Both can know of love's grace…” This one is a bit iffy, it might be intended to be something intended to be used to mistreat Birdo, or it might not be and is just meant to refer to her being trans. Side note, in Paper Mario: Color Splash Birdo sings a song that references Doki Doki Panic and her relationship with Yoshi. In addition her being a performer in this game is a follow-up to what she said she would do in Superstar Saga.
Next up is Birdo's descriptions in various games. Games like Super Mario RPG, Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart Double Dash, and Mario Party 9 all use the correct pronouns for Birdo. Now I've heard it claimed Super Mario Party does the same but I don't have access to it, and it is also claimed in the UK version it misgenders her. It also has been claimed that in the Japanese versions she is also misgendered but again I don't have access to those to check them. But even if the Japanese did say that, it would be better to abide by the US localization's usage of Birdo's pronoun since she is intended to be a trans woman.
Finally in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Birdo is featured on the sponsor Women Of Racing Organization thus acknowledged her as what she is. In addition the Sunshine Airport Intercom refers to her by the correct pronouns as well. Source: Sunshine Airport Intercom Voices in 4 different voice overs! [MARIO KART 8 DELUXE]
Now on Birdo spitting out eggs alongside the rest of her species doing the same. It is never stated anywhere whether or not the Birdos have sexes, and they obviously don't have any spectrum sexual dimorphism as most Mario characters don't So it is probably safe to say Birdos either are sexless, or if they do have a sex then like Yoshies all Birdos can make eggs.

Have u ever seen what aggression some queer femmes have towards butches, transmascs and trans men for expressing our pain about imposed, forced-on femininity?
I'm not invalidating your empowerment in reclaiming your own femininity. I myself have done that too btw, I just have intense pain from a lifetime of expectations to be round-edged, babyfaced and docile by cishet men and how they always bitch and whine about ppl like me existing and becoming "unfuckable" to them.
I love dangerous, wild femininity. I wear femininity like an elegant social armor. It's my deadly venom, it's my fangs and it's my claws. It's the claws of Lilith pushed under the surface, the rage of the drowned and forbidden.
To me this reclaimed femininity is defined by my own terms, not at odds with my gender-transgressiveness.
Why is femininity like armor to me?
Because for anyone who isn't a conventionally attractive cishet man, masculinity doesn't protect us at all. It makes people see us as clumsy, vulnerable and pathethic, while at the same time perverted and threatening. Masculinity is really soft and vulnerable for me to express bcs I'm transmasc, - it's where I invite the scorn of society for breaking out of line as a "woman". It's where I lose the protection and emotional support of the cisnormatively-tradfemme club.
People don't want to be cruel to me if I'm beautiful. Bcs my cruelty back, if I am beautiful, in the feminine elegant sense, will hurt and humiliate worse. I will shred you to pieces and wipe the floor with them.
That's the power of femininity, to dominate and to avoid being dominated, when you're assumed or expected to be a cis woman. People seen as queer / gender-transgressive women are without that protective cover. It's scary as hell.
I'm also intensely aware that I can't meet a certain standard of femininity even if I try, that femme cis women always have the ability to stab me with that painful, othering humiliation of "too clumsy and undesirable, so therefore you're hardly a person and I don't need to have any regard for your emotions or personhood".
Masculinity, for me, is a territory of softness and self-love. It's so, so scary to be masculine because I am without cover, - and in a patriarchal world masculinity is seen as inherently perverted and sexually aggressive, too. The more multiply marginalized an man is, the deadlier that assumption is.
Masculinity, to me, is soft and loving, but hiding under the fear of being seen as an emotionless threatening meatwall. It's not about superiority to femininity bcs as masculine, I actually feel softer, without my armor.
Transmasc people haven't seen a day of navigating masculinity the same as cis men have. For cis men, masculinity is imposed on them and expected of them, - whereas femininity is what invites the scorn and policing from others. For cis men, masculinity can be the social armor.
For transmascs it's the contrary because our masculinity is seen as a transgression against the patriarchy that doesn't see us as men at all. Our experiences are different from those of cis men and saying that isn't invalidating of us being men. Bcs trans people don't need cis people's "model" or "permission" to be who we are.

OC SMASH OR PASS
tagged by @ineed-to-sleep ily <3<3<3
go ahead and consider this a tag if you see it! i can't think of anyone rn + i'll probably be doing these for other ocs anyway so sdgfhhj
--
rules: pretty self explanatory. include physical descriptions or pics, and propaganda. the “other” label can be used for “sexuality misalignment” (ie: oc is femme and you’re gay, vice versa or you aren’t into smashing but a specific thing you wanna do with them like perhaps hug or study them under a microscope idc).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these images are all over the place don't @ me
BASICS:
Full name: Katerina Irakleidis (That last name gets swapped out every few decades. Most people just call her Kat.)
Age: Looks like she's in her mid-twenties, was actually born in the 20s
Height: 5"3-ish (almost always wearing some sort of heel tbh, it's hard to clock her actual height between that & the hair)
Eyes: green
Gender: cis woman
Pronouns: she/her
Sexuality: bisexual (major preference for masc/butch types gender notwithstanding btw lmao)
PROS:
vampire.
bit of a hard outer shell but if you break through it ohh man, truly one of the most passionate & devoted people you will meet
surprisingly selfless also?
knows how to dress well, you'll always have something pretty on your arm & she'll be so happy if you let her coordinate outfits
you want to see the world burn? cool, so does she. just point her in a direction & tell her who you want dead.
really goddamn good in bed. she knows it too.
money isn't a problem. how did she come by it? don't worry about it darling.
loves physical touch. top contender of the cuddliest vampire in LA currently.
she can teach you how to do some fun swing dance stuff from her fledgling years c: (she knows a ton of partner dance styles & is pretty good at making up steps/choreo on the fly--so yes, you will get those midnight kitchen dances if you so desire)
basically a happy/content kat is someone who likes to get pretty domestic with her partners. she seems like she'd be looking for something flashy, but nope. her biggest desire is really just settling into something peaceful & being called someone's baby.
CONS:
vampire but also a Ventrue. ymmv on how much of a con this is.
see above: ventrue possessiveness. not necessarily your fault, but can & will become your problem.
"hard outer shell" = she can be genuinely prickly & argumentative at times and can leave a fairly negative impression on people. doesn't care if this happens 99% of the time either.
will not be staying with you if her sire is still alive.
actually that probably puts a pretty massive target on your back, sorry.
is probably definitely still hung up on her sort-of-not-really-an-ex. you will never be him, i am sorry. can you blame her though, who's out here getting over nines rodriguez?
she has a sister, which would be a pro except this sister is a lasombra who will regularly fuck up any emotional regulation kat has scraped together after they cross paths (assuming it doesn't get more physical)
chain smokes. dead god she smokes So Much. doesn't matter for health reasons, being dead and all, but still.

Ref Sheet for Edna + more info about DWW
Tumblr media
*yes i know the proportions of the full body isn't great. please don't be upset with me, i finished this at like 1 AM lmao*
Here's some extra information about DWW (Dead Woman Walking):
The entire storyline takes place between 2007/2008, it also starts in a fake town called Maplewood Hollow in Oklahoma. And unlike most CRPs (not dissing btws) Edie's parents still love her because she's their baby girl and they don't know she's basically an assassin now.
She used to be a barista at a basic little coffee shop, and now she commits credit card fraud to have money! (no seriously. pulling the whole sam and dean winchester act bro) She also fucking hates The Rake, which is the first real CRP entity she meets.
Edna's story also closely intertwines with Marble Hornets because I'm cringe and unsupervised :D and the first person she meets is Tim, who she ends up liking because "omg someone's showing me respect and i don't know how to process this!!!!!" (she's traumatized, babes) and she also becomes BFFLs with Jane in chapter 5, when they meet during a killing of a very terrible man. They bond over their hatred for abusers and other terrible, TERRIBLE people.
Also Jeff is obsessed with Edna. Not in the creepy crush kind of way, absolutely not. Instead he's obsessed with her because he can't kill her and it fucking VEXES him. In his fucked up monke brain, being able to kill Edna would essentially be his biggest accomplishment? I mean, why are we trying to understand a textbook looney-bin?
Certain CRPs such as Ben DROWNED and Laughing Jack aren't put in for different reasons. Ben isn't involved because I feel like it wouldn't fit with the overarching story of DWW, I mean it's a story about a woman who's wronged and is going to kill her abuser. I don't think she'd have too much time to play video games... however, if I change my mind somewhere down the line, I'll def update that.
Meanwhile for Laughing Jack... well, I'm just not particularly a fan of snuffbomb. I won't go into any specifics as I'm sure anybody who's been in the CRP fandom for more than a decade would know at least a lil' bit what's he's done. I just don't feel comfortable having any of his creations involved with my work, so no LJ or Frankie the Undead, or anything like that. Sorry.
For other CRPs such as Sally, Ticci Toby, Clockwork, Bloody Painter, etc., they will also be added in. It's still too early in the process to really talk about that.
The first part of the story will sort of focus on Edna's journey as well as her interactions with the Marble Hornets guys, The Operator, Jane, Jeff, and even Liu. (also a lil bit of The Rake because they're kinda Edie's villain in the first part of the story. i love their characterization in this story.)

I probably shouldn't do this with the nature of my blog at this point, but I want to take a moment and rant a bit about gender shit.
I am genderfluid. I will never completely pass. I am technically a trans masc cause while I identify as both a man and a woman and both and neither at various times, all the time. I have a vagina, I have tits and i'm moving towards a more masculine build until I don't want to, and I have no idea when that will stop.
Yall…we have got to change how we talk about gender. Our struggles and our issues.
You need to actually talk to trans masculine people and stop fucking assuming what they go through. Please i'm fucking begging you. How the hell are you queer and just talking over us and around us and never including us?
I see so many weird assumptions about gender and oppression in regards to being a masculine woman and it never includes intersectionality.
I just heard a transwomen in a video say "If you are a woman it's almost seen as admirable if you act like a man and are seen as a man"
I'm going to talk about how fucking bad and wrong that is. How honestly gross it is to assume something like that.
Like, I get it, it comes from trauma and I don't hate the person for saying it, just…wish they didn't. It comes from this idea that "well me being AMAB and being a woman is seen as a bad thing, therefor the opposite must be good and celebrated"
it is not seen as good
It is not celebrated.
People get confused about what it means to be a masculine child and Girl Boss TM. Honestly, to explain how Girl Boss TM is actually just another form of subservient feminity wrapped up in an aesthetic of power and influence would be its own novel of a post, so I won't get into it here.
First. There are white women that are just at fault for upholding the patriarchy as men. Period. End of story. The idea that women are inherently victims and weak and can never do anything (including oppression) is patriarchy shit.
it was not men who held me down to force makeup on me. That was teenage girls. (This was after they chased me down)
it was not men I locked myself in a bathroom to get away from cause they were threatening to do my hair when I explicitly said I didn't want to. That was a woman.
I was not seen as desirable. I was not praised. I was not a woman or a man. I was a thing. A creature. A child at best. Because it's okay to be a tomboy as long as you grow out of it.
I am still seen this way even in the queer community.
I was bullied and picked on constantly. Going to school felt like going into battle every day.
Also, the "being seen as one of the guys" thing is a myth. They don't actually see you as a man or a guy. You're this weird third thing at times and a woman when you have an opinion that goes against the group. You are still a "woman" but just not a fuckable one. They don't take your opinions seriously and they'll slap that woman card on you real fast if you raise a fuss about bad behavior.
I'd love to say I was strong throughout but there was a period where I caved a little. I shaved my arm hair cause I got made fun of by this one kid on the bus in front of everyone. (Btw I have dark coarse hair and a little stubble facial hair even as a teen) I wore "girl" clothing a little bit. Women cut shirts, jeans etc. I always felt gross and wrong. People would tell me I looked cute but I felt terrible. I got depressed. I never could get my hair short enough cause some asshole would go "oh it's so nice long" "You don't want to cut it too short! you'll look like a boy!"
I just, I don't know where this privilege is that I'm supposed to have? I have fought every step of the way to be who I am now. I have had to grow and accept me outside of praise or love of anyone else and just rely on self…well not love but acceptance. Like I am privileged but it certainly isn't because i'm trans. (I'm white, I have a house cause I was able to get government assistance cause of said whiteness etc)
Even as I've come out as trans, I get overlooked a lot compared to others. There is this air that like, idk Like i'm not really trans or something?
Why is it okay for transwomen to talk about what I've been through? Why is this seen as okay? If I tried to talk about transwomen experiences I would rightfully be called out for that shit. Why is this okay? It…hurts a lot honestly.
Like…why is it okay to treat other trans people this way? I'd never dreamed to say "Oh being a man is better than being a woman" or "Feminity is always celebrated" even though yeah that last bit kinda feels that way sometimes, but I know that's not true and it's just the pain talking.
I'm just kinda tired of this oppression Olympic crap. As trans people shouldn't it be understood that intersectionality exists and while transition might be easy for some people, by the large it's a hell of an experience and it takes a lot of bravery to go down that path?
Cause like i'm making this post to share my experience cause apparently some of us need to yell more about these things. But like being trans is fucking hard. I'm sorry but without the analysis of intersectionality on a personal scale this whole "this group is more oppressed than the other" is fucking shit and honestly psyop level in it's stupidity.
Trans people are abused. Trans people are being targeted. Terf logic is fucking shit and upholds the patriarchy (also it's a cult) Patriarchy is centered around white colonist ideology.
GNC is not respected and is subjected to abuse
These things are true. and about as broad of a brush we can paint and still not get a full picture.
just…idk can we just stop diminishing trans oppression???

is feyre boring, or do you just hate female characters?
Tumblr media
i saw this text post and it got me thinking how strange it is that a series made by a female author, targeted towards a female audience, and is women-centered can be so heinous and quick to write off the main female main character in favor of side male characters.
feyre is often joked about being a "mary sue" or a boring self insert when she is easily one of the most fleshed out characters in her own series. we have three books full of her thoughts, depicting her trauma, and her story and somehow she's boring and a self-insert? based on what exactly?
even her "flaws" are used against her and joked about at wits end. jokes about her illiteracy, about how people think she is bad at art, and how she is a "bitch" for "destroying the spring court."
feyre isn't allowed to have trauma responses to tamlin, because when she pushes back against him a little bit she is antagonizing him. obviously, a hundreds-years-old male can't control his powers and his emotions, he can't help but to react aggressively towards her behavior! it's feyre's fault for upsetting him (let's not talk about how that is classic abuse apologist language though...). poor tamlin found a 19-year-old girl who was abused and neglected all her life, took her from her home, lied to and manipulated her, and gaslit her when she started showing signs of c-ptsd. why couldn't feyre just be nice to her abuser?
but feyre is also too meek and a doormat throughout the acotar trilogy. it doesn't matter that she was neglected and abused her whole life and that often gives someone a low sense of self-worth, it makes her boring and she's a liar about the abuse she faced in her childhood anyway!
why do people treat the main female character like this? people love to act like female characters are never written well or fleshed out, meanwhile, they will give todd the bus driver who appears twice in a book whole headcanons, fics, and fanart that centers around him. is that male character really more interesting than the many female characters or do you just see women as dolls to place prettily in the backdrop of a man's journey?
are eris, azriel, lucien, tamlin, and tarquin really all that much more interesting and well-developed than feyre, elain, mor, and amren? am i supposed to believe you when you say that azriel is more interesting and more developed than a male character like rhys and that elain is too boring for him?
is it a coincidence that people gravitate towards fleshing out 800 male characters in every fandom and make so much content out of mlm ships, yet when there are canonical gay women it's crickets?
i don't think that shipping azris or whatever mlm ship makes you a bad person nor do i think making content on mlm ships is wrong. however, these biases don't exist in a vacuum. it's the reason why female characters will be sidelined for imagined mlm ships. she'll be pushed aside and the fandom might hc her as a lesbian or a huge bitch so she's not "in the way". they might even make up a ship with a woman that there isn't a lot of homoerotic vibes with but post things like "omg they're gfs and who hold hands and they 'yass queen' x mlm ship i really gaf about! 🥺" and that's as complex as lesbians are allowed to be in comparison. (sidenote: as a gay woman, that is not allyship towards lesbians/bi women but comes across as writing the fmc off so she's not a threat to your ship btw).
why is mor hated on, questioned, called a snake, etc. while her abuser is paraded in this fandom unquestionably? there is mor/emerie content, but it's telling that the amount pales in comparison to mlm ship content. and that happens in every fandom. there can be 100 female characters in a series and let two men exist with like 2 personality traits each and people will flock to shipping them.
it's frustrating to see how well-meaning people can rush to being male-centered more often than not. that people will have a set of very high standards for female characters, and if they're not to their specific set of interests people rush to call them boring, undeveloped, or untrustworthy. whereas a man can have .01% amount of on-page time and people just automatically assume there is more to him. an abuser isn't just an abuser but he exists in the shadow of his horrible upbringing, expectations his family had for him, pressure by society, etc. men are allowed to be layered in their flaws/actions.
a female character has to be the most prolific female character in existence to be seen in any sort of depth. and that just makes me not believe people when they say that they don't show more support to female characters because, "only men are ever written well! it's not my fault the author can't write women." that is just using misogyny as a shield.
is feyre boring? or do you just not like how differently trauma shows up in people? is elain boring? or do you just not care to dissect her in the ways you would azriel or eris? is mor boring? or do you just hate it when women are strong-willed and confident?

Note
Howdy jacksprostate can you give us some thoughts on the narrators father/upbringing? Im curious on how you interpret what the book/movie gave us in terms of his absent dad
Also i love ur posts btw and thank you for replying to like all of my fight club art 😭 It genuinely pushes me to make more for the community so i thank you
Howdy :)
The narrator's father is an important, ever present, and completely lacking figure in the book and movie. (Obligatory disclaimer I mostly focus on the book) Here's some things I've been thinking about:
The chapter detailing fight club, its start, its rules, is intertwined with fatherhood. As the narrator explains his first punch with Tyler, as he looks upon his new disciples, as Tyler reads out the rules:
"Maybe self-improvement isn't the answer.
Tyler never knew his father.
Maybe self-destruction is the answer."
"Me, I knew my dad for about six years, but I don't remember anything. My dad, he starts a new family in a new town about every six years. This isn't so much like a family as it's like he sets up a franchise.
What you see at fight club is a generation of men raised by women."
You have the lines, Tyler’s in the movie, the narrator’s in the book, you have:
"My father never went to college so it was really important I go to college.
After college, I called him long distance and said, now what?
My dad didn't know.
When I got a job and turned twenty-five, long distance, I said, now what? My dad didn't know, so he said, get married.
I'm a thirty-year-old boy, and I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer I need."
You have:
"Tyler was fighting his father.
Maybe we didn't need a father to complete ourselves. There's nothing personal about who you fight in fight club."
And you have his boss; his boss he blows up, Tyler constantly tells the narrator how he could do it, Tyler’s words come out against his boss about how he could shoot up the office, begging to be punished, using the copy machines, begging for more than nothingness; you have:
“The problem is, I sort of liked my boss.
If you’re male and you’re Christian and living in America, your father is your model for God. And sometimes you find your father in your career.
Except Tyler didn’t like my boss.”
You have:
“I am Joe’s Broken Heart because Tyler’s dumped me. Because my father dumped me. Oh, I could go on and on.”
You have, Tyler’s words in the mechanic’s mouth:
“"Your father was your model for God.
If you’re male and you’re Christian and living in America, your father is your model for God. And if you never know your father, if your father bails out or dies or is never at home, what do you believe about God?
What you end up doing … is you spend your life searching for a father and God.
What you have to consider … is the possibility that God doesn’t like you. Could be, God hates us. This is not the worst thing that can happen."
How Tyler saw it was that getting God’s attention for being bad was better than getting no attention at all. Maybe because God’s hate was better than His indifference.
If you could be either God’s worst enemy or nothing, which would you choose?
We are God’s middle children, according to Tyler Durden, with no special place in history and no special attention.
Unless we get God’s attention, we have no hope of damnation or Redemption.
Which is worse, hell or nothing?
Only if we’re caught and punished can we be saved.”
And we have Tyler using paraffin, so the narrator can be in Heaven, chided by God.
So like, what does it all mean?
A generation of men raised by women. His dad franchises, he’s not sure if another woman is really what we need. Men with no male models. Men with shit fucking fathers who are fighting them with impersonal proxies. Men who know they're destroying themselves because they have no constructive examples to follow because every single man just fails every son.
And that IS important. It's important to note there is misogyny in the fact that men demand male idols and refuse to even borrow women, but can I condemn them for the same thing I know matters to myself? Can I condemn them for wanting to see men who aren't shit, when I want to see women who aren't shit, when I want to see both not fucking failing their children? Shit fathers fuck over everyone, I don't think it's wrong to see that problem. It's classic male to say it by implying women are lesser, so fucking classic, but it IS true — they're in large part like this because men fucking fail everyone including each other and themselves. There is a gaping, wide fucking asshole where decent men should be, and they’re throwing fits about it rather than stepping up, but I think it’s notable that the narrator DID break the cycle. He’s not franchising.
And man, the Christian thing. Your father is your model for God because that is the point. Patriarchal religion serves a damn purpose. The father anoints himself as God, tells his children to have unbreakable faith, then disappears. What a shit fucking father. Isn’t disillusionment inevitable? When you can’t find him in his petty figures, not in your father, not in your boss?
Truth is, he says it twice. He likes his boss. As a person maybe. He’s around. But he’s absent too. He doesn’t give a shit. Just like his fucking father, he’s putting him in shit situations, telling him that’s just how it is, and expecting him to, what, be happy with it?
He likes his boss, but a part of him really wants to kill him. He likes his boss, but he begs his boss to do something, anything other than indifference. And he doesn’t. So the narrator invents his own boss, his own father, his own God, and he kills his boss, and he’d kill God and his father if they weren’t already practically dead and gone.
Dead and gone, even if they're there, he could beg them to care and they wouldn't. Society is set up for them to be the ultimate judgement, the hallmark by which you can measure yourself, the ruler for your fucking life, especially as a guy. And you get nothing. Indifference at best. Be the best son, disciple, worker you can, your boss God father doesn't give a shit. Self improvement isn't the answer. Wouldn't it be better, to know God, your father, your boss cared enough even if it's just to hate you?
Wouldn't it be great to track him down, tell God, "I am stupid and bored and weak, but I am still your responsibility."
He externalizes all that violence, it’s always Tyler who wants to kill his boss, who says he wants to be God’s enemy. And Tyler is his stand in boss father God, so just like the others, he leaves him. Even his fantasies can’t imagine better.
And honestly, yeah. Myself, I’ve got a pretty good dad. He loves me. He’s been around. I still hate his guts. He abuses my mom and I hate his fucking guts for it. If you asked my brothers, maybe they wouldn’t have that “but”. What he does to my mom is so baked into society that he may as well be a five star father. He’s not beating us. He’s still here. Can it really get better? I have friends that love their dads. But I don’t have any friends that love their dads that don’t have shit moms. When it’s not the choice between bad and worse. The bar is so low. What does that mean for us?
It’s so easy to point at all this and be disturbed and angry about this pathetic fucking white man letting his daddy issues result in terrorism, and like, yeah. But god, fucking everyone has daddy issues, and we shouldn’t. He’s right that it’s a problem. What to fucking do.
Fight Club sits as a “how to NOT deal with several major crippling problems in society,” obviously. But what are we doing to do? It’s not up to me, obviously. I’m not a man, father, not even someone who could raise her standards for the man she partners with, because I don’t do that shit. And hell, you raise your standards and men say you’re killing them and shoot up all the women in an engineering class because jobs are making them too uppity. So. It’s up to them, whether they decide that the fallout of having such a shit father means they should, I don’t know, change something. But as it is, father as God, boss as father is baked into society, the paternalism is extensive and everywhere. It’s baked in.
The narrator is a product of so many issues. A little clown car of a vehicle for them. I don’t really need to consciously think about what his upbringing and absent dad was like, because really, as he accurately assesses, “if his parents weren’t divorced, his father was never home, and here he’s looking at me with half my face clean shaved and half a leering bruise hidden in the dark. Blood shining on my lips. And maybe Walter’s thinking about a meatless, painfree potluck he went to last weekend or the ozone or the Earth’s desperate need to stop cruel product testing on animals, but he’s probably not.”
Most people, on an overwhelming scale, due to how the world is damn designed, do not need to consciously think about what his upbringing and absent dad was like, because damn if it’s not relevant even if your dad was home.

I have a rant regarding Usopp in the live action, one thing I noticed (and infuriated me) is the many many new fans that inmediatly "clocked" Usopp as the Straight Character™ and are therefore like "well I don't care about straight characters, so im going to ignore him, teehee" and AHHHH FIRST OF ALL IF YOU KNEW THE BISEXUAL VIBES THIS MAN EXUDES, and I don't even want to blame the Kaya kiss because it was cute and they're lovely together 😭 (tho I also see the pattern of which Character the Fandom decides are Straight™ and therefore ignored...)
But I also feel like maybe the Live Action didnt really give Usopp enough moments to shine, here's hoping for more (San)Usopp moments in the second season, they really underuse him in the first one
Okay, first of all, if you think Usopp is straight you're definitely reading his character wrong because look at him. Just look at him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, no. This guy doesn't care about gender in the slightest.
And people assuming a guy is straight because he,,, Has a girlfriend,,, Wow,,, A bisexual man who kisses a woman,,, Who would've thought that bisexual people could fall in love with anyone,,, As if that wasn't the literal fucking definition of bisexual. And you could also headcanon him as gay or any other sexuality! Why does he have to be the straight character for having a girlfriend in canon? You can do whatever the fuck you want with it. Fuck canon. People make my blood boil. Also, the whole "I don't care about straight characters" thing is something SO common and it makes me so angry because-- First of all, who said he's straight? He's a fictional character, do whatever the fuck you want with him. And second, it's alright to like specifically queer characters because they give you comfort and representation, but instantly ignoring a character just because they are not queer? Uh. Like, I understand, but it gives me the ick. It's just weird. Off-putting. Because there's a thin line between focusing on the characters you think are queer for comfort and reducing them only to their sexuality and ignoring everything that matters in the show. But you know? I don't think that's exactly the issue here and we both know what it is. Like. Between you and me, anon, we both know.
I am white by the way and I'm not used to analyzing black characters in terms of how the fandom views them and stuff, but isn't it quite curious how Usopp is always the ignored character from the East Blue Crew, and he's often used as a comedy relief in OPLA? "He has a girlfriend and he's straight so we don't care abou-" Sanji has flirted with Nami. Visibly. In front of your fucking screen. And you don't say that about him. Or any other character, really. That's just an excuse and we know and everyone knows and you don't have to analyze shit to know this because it's obvious. And if somebody comes at me saying "oh! But it's just because his personality is softer and he's a coward and most people hate that in shonens so he's a boring character" I am going to fucking combust because everyone knows that if Usopp were white EVERYBODY would be calling him a baby boy and a soft boy and a cutie pie and he'd be one of the favorites (cofcof Koby cofcof) (<- I love him too btw but you know what I mean).
That being said, OPLA doesn't even give Usopp enough screen time to be a character because his personality there is used to crack a few jokes and have THE romance in the show. That's it. He's the comedy relief character and the one who gets the girl because Netflix would cancel the show first before not doing any romance. God forbid people read between the lines, oh my God (<- I love Usokaya and everyone knows btw I am not complaining I cried when they kissed. I'm just saying that that's quite literally all he does. But Usokaya my beloved).
His OWN arc in OPLA is stolen by the screentime used for the Marines and Luffy is the one doing the work. They don't let Usopp follow through with what he actually does in the manga and it's very frustrating not being able to see him shine IN HIS OWN ARC. They barely give him any important scenes in comparison to the other characters. It's incredibly infuriating. See? I am now infuriated.
And now a lot of people watching OPLA have said they prefer OPLA Usopp rather than Manga!Anime!Usopp or that the live-action has made them like him better. I don't know what bothers me the most, really. People literally don't care about the characters, they just want them if they're hot. Which, by the way, it's insulting because if you don't find Manga!Anime!Usopp hot ?????? Please, go to the ophthalmologist because I think you need glasses.
I really hope we get more Usopp moments (hehe and Sanuso moments. My beloveds. They got their four cute short scenes in OPLA and I was the happiest person alive) next season because otherwise, I am going to fucking lose it.

https://www.tumblr.com/eyeslikewatercoolers/763320645093326848/hi-i-saw-your-repost-about-plane-hating-women
This anon shared this information with me, and I wanted to pass on the message. I am in no way insinuating that you were spreading misinformation, but I wanted to share more background to that situation. Thanks 🩷
hi!!! so i saw your response to the anon and quite frankly it's bullshit 💝 fans like you (and anon btw) need to stop making excuse after excuse for this grown adult man. how many jokes does miss plane jane have to make before ya'll stop huffing the copium and realise they aren't jokes she has any right to be making?
she is a white gay man. she benefits from male privilege. no one wants to hear her takes about whether or whether or not lesbians belong in drag spaces, jokes at multiple women's expenses (that she isn't negatively impacted by) or jokes about survivors of Diddy. she and her stans need to sit down and shut the fuck up tbh.
you can go on and on about how she's joking and we're finding reasons to hate her, but sometimes jokes aren't funny <3 and notice how she doesn't hold that energy for when people read her? no no, instead she accuses them of being ugly haters.
respectfully, no. she doesn't get to constantly run her mouth about women - especially lesbians btw and then get mad when women critique her. i don't go looking for her running her mouth, she just keeps doing it.
also anon, i do hold that energy for katya who ALSO ISN'T A QUEER WOMAN. like pls get a grip.

So i've never been fond of the "urgh I'm a bi woman who loves girls but I'm stuck with this crusty guy 🙄" thing because i view it as juvenile and disrespectful to the person you have chosen to be in a relationship with but I've mostly only seen it online.
But I went to the club with some girls this past weekend and one of the women in our group not only brought her bf out with us but then hit on me right in front of him and did the whole bit about "omg you're so much hotter than my man, if I was singly rn, can't believe I'm stuck with this dude." We were standing about 2 feet away from him.
Girl if you hate him that much, why are you dating him and why did you bring him
This isn't really related to anything specific you've posted I just wanted to rant about it. I'm also a bi woman in a straight relationship and it dropped my jaw to think of behaving so contemptuously to my partner. Like she treated being attracted to me as a big joke/not real and not like she just offered to cheat on her bf while he stood a few feet away
the curse of bi women dating extremely crusty worthless failmales deserves a dissertation honestly ....
basically bi women are socialized not to pursue relationships with women seriously and i will explain how i could have become this woman if it wasn't for finding radblr
and this isn't to excuse this behavior exactly (not that i actually care if a bi woman puts down her shitty bf and knows she's out of his league bc in my experience these dudes think they're god's gift to women) bc it's disrespectful to other ssa women
and it's like okay every stereotype of the cheating bi woman who always gravitates to a man bc that's the only "real" relationship to her (and this btw does absolutely help to explain why bi women have the highest rates of IPV) is because of socialization
i was fascinated with lesbian relationships from a young age, i was a tomboy, i gravitated towards stories where women and girls fell in love with each other, i made OCs in lesbian relationships. i was aware that people could be gay, although in live-action media i had never seen lesbians, only gay men. i didn't know anyone who was gay or bi.
it genuinely did not occur to me that being with another girl was something that could happen to me in real life. idk how to explain this disconnect, bc i absolutely thought about kissing my female friends and what it would be like, but as far as i knew i was the only person who felt that way in real life.
meanwhile, boys actually did like me, did pursue me, and i accepted thinking i would eventually "get" what having a boyfriend was about, and this should probably help illustrate why i questioned my sexuality for so long (i was never boy crazy, always uncomfortable if a boy liked me, and the thought of dick was not appealing to me lmao) but i was in love with the same boy my entire childhood who treated me like shit (a pattern later but anyway) and if i were five years younger i'd be all in on the split attraction model but bullet dodged, i am just bi and i like being bi now
in many cases having a boyfriend is just something that happens to girls, and it becomes a habit that you can't break. it didn't happen to me, but i watched so many amazing girls twist themselves into knots for complete losers, because they couldn't be single, they didn't know how.
and all these girls know is the male gaze. the kind of bisexual men want women to be. and there's no incentive to take your attraction to women seriously because no one else does, because you're supposed to be with a man anyway, but you might resent it. i think that woman is probably filled with resentment.
i was in college and i found radblr and i found women who wanted to be with women and i realized it was real and that there might be women who wouldn't feel disgusted if they knew i wanted them. but a lot of bi women never have that moment, they only explore their sexuality through content made for men and through some greasy boyfriend
so anyway she sounds like she sucks but also i feel like bi women are uniquely punished for perpetuating the patriarchy in a way that, say, straight women are not
