What is your opinion/boundary when it comes to using your art as inspiration or reference, or even tracing? Obvi that particular person straight up copied whole drawings of yours many times, and that’s an extreme case where it’s easy to see that they’re far out of bounds. But what would you consider to be acceptable use/tracing of references, using your work as reference? Thx in advance!!

i separate my fan art from my original art in my head, since fan art so often breaches containment and a lot of people treat it like a community thing, i’ve adjusted my boundaries around it for my own ease.

in short: you can do whatever you want with my good omens fan art. obviously prefer if credit is given where possible, always given if asked, and always displayed clearly if you’re tracing it for whatever reason.

i’m a little more protective of my original art, so i hope this makes sense:

you can trace my original art if you’re giving it to me as fan art of my work. people have done “redraws” before and i love them.

i’m ofc okay with the kind of inspiration that comes up naturally, like, “oh i love how that elf has big floppy bunny ears, i wanna give my elf ears like that!” and same goes for anything that my art might inspire, that you then tweak for yourself

i generally wouldn’t recommend copying my poses 1:1 anyway, since my anatomy can be pretty borked at times, and when it’s stronger i’ve likely used a photo reference. you’re welcome to ask for the references i’ve used for any given piece 💛

slightly less related but you CAN use my original art for icons and banners, but credit is mandatory. i would also prefer if it’s only characters that appear in my stories (rechargeable, paranomads etc), bc i think i’d feel weird if someone used a free floating OC (mister b, my vampire lesbians etc) as a pfp

you can also do whatever the hell you want, no boundaries, if you’re keeping it to yourself. i’ll never know and can’t stop you. so if tracing all my work helps you further your art (i’d hope it’s not the only thing you’re doing, or it’d be to your artistic detriment), i’m fine with that if you’re keeping it metaphorically tucked under your mattress, for your eyes only ☺️

When I'm not making music with the band you can usually find me working on my comic or some other artistic pursuit. I'm a chronically exhausted college student. You can tell what songs I wrote by them having a more jazzy or melancholy tone to them or just being bat-shit off the walls insane. About me:

I have a bunch of OCs, and I'm writing so many (unfinished)books... Yeah, that's right. I like to suffer and die creatively TWICE!! I can not be helped. I'm just goofy like that sometimes. I hate most non canon ships for fandoms im in, but I'll probably just go "ew" and leave you alone(depends on the ship, really). I haven't been tested for autism or ADHD but enough things line up, so I'm like 80% sure. The 20% is self-doubt. I like to dress fancy, and my general look is deep woods cottagecore that has recently drank from the lake of maximalism. You won't see pictures of me, probably, because my room is NOT clean. Sometimes, I vent on here, but that's because I am the only demographic this blog needs. I love you, too, but your feelings are only being considered a little bit. I use tone tags every now and then if I feel I would be misunderstood. On that note, I am more likely to ignore or ask for clarification if you say something rancid or silly than get on your ass about it.

Those Days:

I'm gonna be making a comic called Those Days about a small town old gay couple, Scott and Rodney, telling their life's story. They've been friends since their sophomore year in high school, and they've seen a lot. Scott was a punk, to say the least.

First of all thank you it's one of my favorite Muddler drawings that I made!!

Hmmm voice claims... I have a few.

The thing tho, sort of, is sometimes my mental voice for some of them have a specific accent I don't think a voice actor would be able to replicate easily, like Moominmamma having a swedish accent with bits of south-eastern British she picked up from Moominpappa and his old friends, or Fuzzy having a danish accent faded with northern American or Inspector having a cockney accent with Finnish sprinkled in. Most of them are THAT kind of specific. But if I had to go just by the sound of their voices...

One voice claim I have down is Alasdair Stuart (the voice actor of Peter Lukas from the Magnus Archives) for Hodgkins, maybe he'd go a smidge deeper and gruffer than his Lukas voice but that's the gist of my voice for him.

Cosmo Sheldrake as the Joxter, particularly inspired by his cover of Green Grass, though I imagine years of casual smoking would've taken a little toll on his vocal chords.

I've associated alot of Eleisha Eagle songs with the Fuzzy and I can't separate her voice from her at this point, so she might be her voiceclaim.

Joey Batey as Hodgkins' lost brother, almost certainly, you might know Batey as the bard from the Witcher but I mostly know him from the band the Amazing Devil.

I've listened to quite a bit of S.J. Tucker and she's honestly quite the voice actress if you've listened to her story readings along with her songs, I've imagined her as my OC Iris, who is Hodgkins' mother.

Christine Ebersole... If she could do an actual posh British accent then she would be Aunt Jane for me, hands down. But either of the Mary Poppins actresses also does it for me when it comes to Jane.

I've flip-flopped a bit for the Fuddler's (as in, the one from the comics) voice actor, I'm stuck somewhere between Brain David Gilbert or Louie Zong, I think it's very vibe-dependant.

I listened to the Freaks by the Tiger Lillies a bit and went "Mhm yep that's Stinky right there" (I don't recommend listening to the whole song because goodness it's uhhhh graphic, unless you're into that. But if you wanna hear the voice without all that I recommend just looking up the animation meme for it). I think the singer was by the name of Martyn Jacques but I'm not 100% sure.

I think that's most of them for the ones with particular voices.... The rest are specific ideas I can only describe without naming a certain actor.

There's just general rules that apply to both of us [me and Gideon] I'm gonna have to update my pinned but it's just as long as you:

He hates this a lot. It's weird because he's still connected to his source, he's aware that he's from a source and is technically a character, but RP stuff bugs him massively which is ironic given this blog lmfao. We're fine with general asks and interactions but the moment rp blogs get involved and try to rp with him then he gets pissy. It's hard to explain [especially since I don't wanna just throw like "triggers" out there.] But if I need to elaborate more, then I can.

If it comes to talking about the whole symptom thing and the fact that it happened with Gideon to us then we're both fine with it [assuming you'd continue interacting, if you do or not, it's all cool] A lot of the time he is kinda quiet unless he sees something that either intrigues or bothers him. He just hates seeing the fanon version of himself honestly. Any other Scott Pilgrim content is fine.

Like if you run a Gideon blog, I wouldn't mind if you're interacting with this blog since you're following those two rules even before they were said lol. It'd probably be jarring to Gideon if he saw like a pfp of what's supposed to be himself or anything but as long as anyone follows those two rules, then I think everything's cool.

I'm still also just trying to figure things out with the plurality thing so honestly, I might be inconsistent in the future regarding who could interact with "us".

Hopefully this all makes sense, my brain is scrambled all the time so if I said some confusing shit or need to elaborate then I can!!

Hey btw I’m not a Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) fan. Just because I made one joke post and having an icon from it doesn’t mean I’m like a big fan of it.

My pfp is Mina because I like Mina. Say what you want about her characterization of the 1992 film, but the original ending had her leave with Jonathan after killing Dracula which I CHOOSE to believe is canon. The joke post was from the fact I showed my friends the comic adaptation and we all laughed that it kept the scene where Seward tripped on the bear rug. (Specifically the friend tagged who pointed it out).

I don’t like the film, but I do love how it’s shot, the sets, and costumes. I’m a nerd on film production, so even bad films I find something to appreciate.

Favorite plot element and least favorite plot element go

My favorite plot element has got to be Jason’s side plot and slow descent into madness in season 4, hence the pfp. I love him to pieces. He’s the protagonist of his own old theatre tragedy (a la the Odyssey or a Shakespeare work. More Shakespeare ngl). I can elaborate on that btw if asked.

My least favorite plot element has got to be the tweens’ plotline in season 3 (honestly pick any of them it’s all forgettable). This is entirely out of personal taste but the first half of season 3 had most of the stuff that had to do with the tweens was just,,, relationship drama. Which is GREAT for the target audience of young teenagers who love young teenage drama but at the same time. I am too aromantic for this I simply do not care.

None of it was actually STUPID, however- a lot of the show can range from great to merely mid, hence the need for this blog as something that’s merely for the whole ‘it’s okay but it COULD be sick as hell’ gripe.

But, honorable mentions:

(Negative)

1. I don’t like how Steve has lost almost all of his interesting morally questionable stuff from season 1 and has kind of been reduced to a much less interesting knightly himbo. His arc of becoming a better person happened way too long ago and now he feels like fandom bait.

2. I don’t like how Jason died. Idk if I mentioned it but it just seemed almost… TOO cruel, like it was designed for the audience to cheer as this guy met a comically gruesome death. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

(Positive)

1. I really loved the Will plot in season 2. The parts where he’s dealing with the mind Flayer are… so. So good.

2. I really liked the scene where Nancy and Jonathan show the scars on their hands. It felt really nice and intimate and I actually felt like they knew each other well enough to have a really nice romance.
