★ 019 // “Tears” I finished SBR last night. There’s a lot I could say, but I will leave you all with this anecdotal story:

About a month ago, I had left off right before the Love Train arc. I was cleaning out my basement sifting through my childhood belongings and decided to take an edible to help pass the time.

I’m used to Weird Shit happening while high. Inspiration, laughs, revelation. However this particular time I had a strong… vision of sorts. I’m not sure what to call it, all I knew was that it was some kind of dreamlike thought that did not come from me consciously, and it felt very real.

Johnny crawls to my feet, sobbing hard. Words are spilling out of his mouth, but he only mutters the same thing over and over again. 

“I’m so sorry.” 

I don’t understand.

“Sorry for what?”

He can barely talk amidst his tears. “Something bad is gonna happen. Something painful that might hurt you.”

The following words slip out of my mouth so effortlessly that it would make me question if they even were my own, maybe they were God’s.

“Johnny, no matter what happens: good, bad, or ugly, I want to be right there with you together on this adventure, always. No future pain could ever change that.” 

I do not regret my decision at all.

Thank you for taking me on this adventure, Johnny. Let’s keep going, together.

michael and all the kids have a rocky start to say the least. they were scared of him to be honest, and michael kinda avoids them at first...? he finds it hard to stomach (tho he lacks one now hah!) seeing these kids and know that they were all killed by william. it's different seeing them act as the children they are.

the directing of this scene is outstanding because despite being surrounded by darkness and crying, sanji is the one bathed in the sunlight of luffy's hopeful and loving words. his brothers are the ones laughing but they're covered in gloom and their narcissistic, evil selves. while sanji is acting in the most selfless and self-sabotaging way, wanting to go into the dark so his crew doesn't get hurt by the past he's been running away from for so long. he feels like he deserves this and luffy will not let him drown in his self-harm and the despair his family is. luffy literally is sanji's light, sun, hopes and dreams personified.

my biggest impediment to enjoying romance fanfic is that I think I just fucking hate pet names. I don't find them sweet or romantic even when it's canon for ships I like, so when people put noncanon ones in it doesn't feel like a cute extrapolation, it feels like someone is secretly putting zucchini in my chocolate cake.
