Ironically, after taking me out of years of kdrama slump, Lovely Runner is going to leave me with a worse slump sniff. This might even surpass any romance kdrama I've watched before as it's focused on the romance first and it didn't go off the rails on the 2nd half. Ryu Sun Jae, pls take responsibility, chuseyo.

Guys I'm still so not over it. As part of "Kidnap Sun Jae and Run" Addicts Anonymous, let me help you cope through this 10 step program:

1. Play OST nonstop

"I Think I Did" and "Sonaki" will definitely be 'memories embedded in my soul' for playing the OST nonstop from when I wake up until I sleep.

It's going to be a tragedy if Byeon Woo Seok doesn't sing any of these live on his upcoming fanmeets. Pls pls pls k-ent gods.

2. Rewatch from the start

Undoubtedly one of my comfort watches from now on. I knew it was going to be good when near end of ep 1, Younha's iconic "Umbrella" song started playing, Sun Jae was walking towards a crying Sol, held the blue umbrella to shield her while he's getting rained on. Aww. I'm so soft for these scenes. (Deja vu to Bogum's MDBC anyone?)

3. If time is limited, watch the last 10 mins of every ep where writer-nim always saves the fireworks till the end!

In ep 2, the OG "I Think I Did" started playing, where a smiling Sol held the yellow umbrella to Sun Jae, and he hopelessly fell for her, is now going down as one of the most iconic scenes in kdrama romance. I'm usually not a fan of instacrush. But their relationship naturally developed more when they got close, during that stretch of Sun Jae's swimming injury plot.

4. For masochists like me, rewatch all the times Sol rejects Sun Jae. Ugh it hurts, but it hurts so good. A lot of rejections, but these 2 scenes...

In ep 9, when college Sol drunkenly curses Sun Jae as "pabo" for always going back to her, when she just keeps on hurting him. But he can't help himself. Sniff.

In ep 12, the setup before that train scene, where Sol asks Sun Jae not to cry when she leaves him to go back to the future. Then cut to next day on the train when she tricks Sun Jae and leaves him alone on the train, and of course Sun Jae can't keep his promise and his tears fall. Simply drama magic.

5. Rewatch the kissing scenes!

Sadly, nothing quite matched that ep 8, very hooot kiss between the 2 now adult Sun Jae and Sol. Sol discovers Sun Jae still pines for her all these years, and Sol finally admitting to him about her true feelings, the pent up feelings for 15 years in that kiss...,whew (fans self)!

6. Rewatch all my fave scenes!

That cherry blossom proposal scene is one of the most beautifully shot ones I've ever seen, glad he axed the first one lol. And a picture of the future wedding scene though imaginary for now! It's our reward for suffering for 15 eps lol.

7. Read and like all LR related posts, bts, stills, fanart.

You know it's a hit when fanart is everywhere, and I can change to a new Sun Jae-Sol wallpaper everyday and bask on the gorgeousness of BWS .

By the way, that latest clip of the live watch with the cast and where BWS is crying in gratitude sniff. He knows his life is also changed forever by this drama. Deserving! I was always intrigued by BWS's looks before, and he really surprised me with his acting, he also has great comedic timing!

It's just rare nowadays that the drama has the whole package, I love the cast and their characters too.

8. Read and like all posts related to BWS and KHY, and the cast.

Kim Hye Yoon poured her heart out on this drama, she really carried it.

I didn't get to talk about the rest of the cast yet. At first, I was getting used to some of the 'over the top' comedy, but by that condom confusion scene, I was laughing too. I love that all of the cast is just going for it even if it's bonkers crazy. But my fave has to be adult celeb Sun Jae's assistant who has this hilarious deadpan face and delivery of lines, and always has that 'tsk tsk what a loser' look of scorn towards Sun Jae, when his boss is at his most embarassing lovesick self mwahah.

9. Recommend LR to every unsuspecting person, let's spread the addiction, and destroy their lives too lol!

I think it is very probable that the Duffers won't stop the production or filming, and that their support for the strike will just remain in... words, rather than direct action. Realistically the Duffers are tied to Netflix, they literally are the producers of the biggest show (on Netflix) now, and they're already getting paid... a lot and the fact that they are tied to Netflix makes it VERY unlikely for them to stand up against Netflix. I just cannot imagine a scenario like that, lol. So yeah, it is controversial and sad, but if we are considering the situation from a realistic POV... I can see the duffers not exactly standing up against Netflix.

I do wonder if they’re going to announce filming starting then? Because official Netflix/ST accounts usually make a post the day filming starts to let the fans know it has officially commenced.

Although it is a cause for celebration for fans, it’s… going to look really bad in the eyes of those supporting the strike, which is 98% of writers and basically everyone that isn’t the top 1% in the industry.

I know the Game of Thrones spin-off or whatever announced that they’re going to start filming despite the strike and they’re getting a lot of negative press from not just those in the industry but also fans who are scared that the quality of the show is gonna suffer.

It’s common knowledge that the shows that did continue production during the last strike dipped in quality bc they were not able to have rewrites while filming. Stuff like actors improvising and adding their own lines and directors or just anyone coming in to fill that role of the writers on strike is highly frowned upon. You’re essentially dubbed a snake who is taking the side of the corporations and saying fuck you to those that are trying to fight for decent pay.

It does make me wonder if they’re so quiet about filming potentially starting in May and maybe they won’t even officially announce it, because they don’t want to sour the reputation of the show by giving the impression they aren’t supporting the strike, but are instead directly going against it.

To be fair, there are certain individuals in the production that have literally no choice but to work bc of their contracts. Like I know Disney just announced that show runners and other people in that type of position are required to return to their productions for non-writing duties. And I know that applies to a lot of people in the production that aren’t writing. So to a lot of folks, even if you wanted to strike, you can’t bc it’s against your contract.

It’s just unfortunate that not only are they risking the quality of the show not being it’s best, they’re also risking the shows reputation. There are 100% going to be people boycotting the HOG and ST knowing that it had production going during the strike. And if it god forbid did end up not being very good at certain points, we’d never hear the end of it..

And the fact that it’s likely to be very byler heavy potentially…. That should be something people on here consider as opposed to just praying for filming to start bc we want bts asap.

Even if filming started tomorrow, there’s no guarantee we’re getting blurry bts anytime soon. Especially if they only have a few people on set not only bc of the strike and the fact that maybe a lot of people won’t be there out of solidarity, but also bc it’s probably going to be a skeleton crew working to avoid spoilers.

If we’re lucky, the strike would end sooner than later and we could see some bts floating around in the next 2-3 months, but I just don’t see that happening rn. A lot of experts are saying that Netflix in particular can afford to hold this out for months, bc they’ve got a full backlog for the next two years when it comes to releases on their platform.

How does ST fit into that, I’m not exactly sure. But if they’re not putting any pressure on Netflix, then we’ll know based on Netflix’s behavior about the situation. All it would take is the ST production to give them a lot of pressure to make an impact, and I agree that is the very reason that Netflix probably prepared for that scenario. It’s likely it’s written in the Duffer’s contracts that they have to continue in the scenario of a strike, so even if they wanted to support it, they’re stuck.

It sucks but yeah it’s very likely that whatever is filmed during the strike will put a bad taste in the critics and audiences mouths. Unfortunately it’s likely to be byler related soooo yeah that does suck for those of us that are already prepared for the homophobic backlash.

In a perfect world streamers would stop being greedy and just give the writers 3% like they’re asking. It’s literally nothing in the grand scheme of things. These corporations are making billions and they can’t give their writers 3%… like… no wonder they’re not dropping this until something changes bc it’s fucking pathetic.

A lot of these writers live in Los Angeles and are making like 70k a year, in a city where that is not at all a live-able wage bc of rent prices being crazy. Also they need representation which drops their salary to like 46k… These people are being paid nothing and then bc streamers don’t compensate for residuals like they used to when a tv episode re-aired on tv, all they get is the pay for making it and that’s it… that’s not sustainable and if they don’t stand up to this bs now, future generations of writers are going to be fucked. The prospects of AI coming in and taking all their jobs is also closing in. It’s a shitty situation.

I’m at a point now though where I’ve went from being excited about filming to start, to sort of dreading it, knowing that the writers are against it and that it’s going to make a lot of resentments for the production going forward. It’s not going to be pretty.

Chance and Choice BTS

Behind the scenes stuff! I have A LOT of notes about the making of Chance and Choice from unreleased Beta to the latest chapter! Please enjoy the notes that simply cannot keep to myself anymore.

Pre CC (Runner-up):

Originally originally, the very first almost beta version of CC was just going to be Jack's origin story lol. Like straight up in chronological order, a series of events spanning his entire life as a closer look into his fall from grace. Really heavy handed on the psychology aspects of how his mind works (because I love nothing more than psychoanalyzing people/characters)

I had a whole idea about if i ever dropped this fic that the accompanying art would just be Jack himself promoting the story as if it was his own autobiography. Celebrity biopic release vibes. Buy my book!

This rough beta version was called Runner-up. And I got all the outlining done when I realized that by the end of the story Jack still would’ve been a villain (and in banishment) and I ended up thinking that the aftermath of his banishment with Lucy would've been a more attention-grabbing story.

As much as I enjoy hurting this man, I also want to see him heal, so Runner-up was promptly scrapped (but somewhat currently still used as a rough guide for any of Jack’s inner machinations/past experiences)

In the tail end of planning Runner-up, when Killian was starting to come more into his own and not just a background character, apparently, I wrote it down that him and Jack were only supposed to have romantic tension and for their official relationship to start way later after he’s already reformed. 

I think the idea was to have them just hate flirting with each-other while the whole story goes on around them? But you can also do that AND be bitter exes at the same time. Very glad I changed this little bit.

A concept that also did not survive the Runner-up days was the idea of Jack having some kind of Ice based healing powers! Most akin to the water bender healers from Avatar. 

He would've had this whole thing about swearing off using the healing powers for whatever reason and ends up burying the lead that he ever had them in the first place. Until a situation comes up where he’s forced to use them in front of people, unearthing the secret. This idea was cool, but then I reworked the whole magic system so this idea had to go.

Chapter 4:

Fun Fact! This meeting where Jack and Mother Nature actually talk for the first time since banishment will be the last time they directly speak to one another until the very finale. They will be going another two weeks without talking before reconciling at New Years.

I've had the idea for the Bypass for a while, but the way it looks is closest to The Great Exhibition hall of 1851. Just way bigger and with portal arches and FIVE MORE FLOORS. This place is HUGE you guys it's like a whole town in of itself.

I wanted the teleporters to accommodate a full-sized dragon because as a species they would be very limited in available airspace without getting spotted by humans. So, to quick travel they mostly use the teleporters.

I am going to be very honest with you guys. I really did only give Jack a journal of sorts so that I could maybe spin that off into The Misadventures of Exile kinda thing. Because nothing really physically happens to him (besides the polar bear) but he goes through a lot of mental wear and tear, and I thought I should give myself a little window into his head for possible future use. 

Chapter 5:

The flashback scene with MN and Jacks fight, these exchanges:

“When all the realms turned against me, what did you do? Nothing!”

“You were not meant to have a holiday that is not my fault!”

“Not your FAULT!?”

Is directly taken from Kung Fu Panda, the first movie where shifu and tai lung recount their falling out as they fight. Tai Lung (and his and shifu’s dynamic) is so interestingly complex and served as a HUGE inspiration for Jack’s character and his relationship with MN.

ANOTHER line that I kinda ripped off was this remark from Jack:

“How could you possibly bring me lower than this? What more can you take away from me?!”

That one I got from The Incredibles when Bob threatens Mirage when he thinks his family is dead :)

A line that I also really REALLY wanted to include but didn't was from Steven Universe. Where Amethyst and Pearl are fighting in the kindergarten and amethyst says:

“I never asked for it to be this way! I never asked to be made!”

I wanted to give that line to Jack as he was fighting MN SO BAD! But I just couldn't find anywhere to fit it.

Originally Jack’s visceral injury would have been a single very sharp root straight through the shoulder. Literally clean through him; just one major puncture wound. But I ultimately thought that was lacking something, so i ended up changing it to something way more violent.

That whole fight scene I’ve had in the chamber for A WHILE, before most of the plot of CC was ironed out. And like I’ve said before, legendary fisticuffs are COOL AS SHIT so I have a lot to say about that passage in particular.

Chapter 6:

I had three separate ideas for Jack’s beginning nightmare sequence for this chapter (mostly because i’ve really liked coming up with very metaphorical and emotionally poignant scenarios for Jack to be in (psychoanalyzing yet again) ).

The final one of the following voices was my personal favorite and was planned to be put somewhere far later in the story, but i ultimately decided to treat myself and write in prose about Jack’s internal struggle :)

The other two nightmares I think I will keep mostly a secret if I ever choose to use those for future sequences. But! The other two (in the vaguest of terms) are

Mother Nature Lapis Lazuli inspo

Playing very weird chess and loosing horribly.

The main note that I’ve had for this, and the next few following chapters is just: EMOTIONAL LABOR! And that’s literally it lol. Thats the only note I need for this next stretch of the story lol.

Fun Fact! The weight of Lucy’s staff is actually different depending on the personal harmony of the one who’s holding it! It always maintains a level of heaviness that Lucy doesn't experience, but depending on someone’s inner balance the staff will be lighter or heavier depending on who’s holding it. Charlie has little difficulty holding for its weight in Chapter 5, because he has little to no internal struggle. He’s very confident in who he is and where he’s going in life and all that jazz. 

Whereas Jack in this Chapter, is nearly taken down by the thing because he is all kinds of out of whack internally. Banishment has been nothing but one big internal seven-year struggle and it shows in the weight of the staff. He’s way-out synch and therefore the staff is way heavier than it should be.

Chapter 7:

I had to rewrite the beginnings of this chapter a fair few times with how exactly Lucy finds out more about Frostmas as a thing.

One of the times she would've found herself in the hall of timelines to learn about Frostmas that way. It was a huge room of clouds and different clock faces representing all the major alternate universes. I had a whole convoluted way the books updated themselves by pulling straight from the clocks to double check the series of events that have technically never happened.

But this was WAY too complicated of an idea to execute without having it feel overly clunky. So, it must be scrapped.

AND I KNEW that THIS was the most opportune time to name drop everyone else’s amazing work! As mostly a treat to myself, but I had it penned down to AT LEAST mention CS here. Because I was dying to do that at some point and NOWS THE TIME! THERE YA GO BITCHES! Technically canon? But actually, not really.

Killian and Chimera’s intro was A BITCH AND A HALF to nail down. I went back and forth on the logistics of this scene a lot. Where it was gonna fit in the story and if I'm introducing this new character/element too early or too late. This one was a thinker.

BUT THEN I remembered that there's an actually seven-year-old at the north pole that he could scare! Keep it closer to the main cast and switch it to full nighttime hours at the end of the day and BOOM! He’s here! In the story! Jack and Luce are gonna run into him later for the confrontation OF A LIFETIME. Very hype about that

For Killian’s intro I had an idea for Chimera to call him on the crystal ball, but he accidently left the sound on so it flashes colors AND Toxic by Brittney Spears would start playing very loudly in the middle of the night. This was really funny to me, but ultimately undermined the whole buildup of him being scary and threatening so I had to scrap it.

Misc:

Whenever I get to the redlining stage in the editing process, I try and do it physically as often as I can. I literally print out all the pages, staple them together, get a red pen and go to town! Usually with a lined sticky note as well for when a passage really needs to be deconstructed. I do this because it gives my eyes a break from staring at a screen and helps me spot mistakes easier. I keep them all in a little accordion folder and save them as sweet little mementos :)

(I don't do this for any of the snowdrifts because those are relatively low stakes, but I did do it for Solstice just because it directly ties into CC in a somewhat more important way.)

A couple of key inspo’s for Jacks character in exile (as I imagine him anyway) were Tai Lung (as previously stated), Loki and a touch of Bojack Horseman. I rationalize any out of character things he does with “Oh but he’s in exile, he’s been banished for seven years now, I think he’s bound to act just a little different.”

1) Song of the year? This is much harder than the following question, so I'll use this question to give a shout out to my favorite k-pop songs of the year: HOME;RUN by SEVENTEEN and Boy With Luv by BTS ft Halsey. I don't usually listen to k-pop boy bands (I prefer the girl bands) but I discovered both of these songs at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle! They had a room with a huge ass screen playing k-pop music videos lol

2) Album of the year? This was easily The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan! It was the only music I listened to for like 3 months straight lmao. Though the runner up would be PANORAMA by Hayley Kiyoko which I also listened to a lot earlier this year. (Both gay women, coincidence? Actually yes but maybe not lol)

To properly answer #1 I'll also include my favorite songs from both of these albums: After Midnight (Chappell Roan) and well... (Hayley Kiyoko)

3) Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year? Not to repeat myself but definitely Chappell Roan lol

5) TV show of the year? I got into 911 and obsessed over it more than any other fandom so that probably wins the title lol. Though I don't necesssarily think it's like the objectively best thing I watched this year, it's just what gave me the most brainrot lol. Since that brainrot will continue into next year I feel like I should mention a purely 2024 one, which I think would be Dead Boy Detectives, since it debuted and then got canceled this year. It had so much potential and I'll be forever mad at Netflix for canceling it

9) Best month for you this year? Hmmm since I mentioned it earlier I'll say June because that's when I went on a road trip from SoCal up the 5 to visit Portland, Seattle and Vancouver BC, then took the 101 down the Oregon Coast / NorCal on the way back! It was a shit ton of driving lmao but still fun :)

11) Something you want to do again next year? Though it started in 2023, taking math classes! This year I took Calculus 2 and 3, and next year I'll be taking linear algebra/differential equations and probably statistics. Those are the only math classes left I can take at a community college level so idk what I'll do in 2026 (except maybe apply for grad school again cause I'm insane)

ive never been able to commit to a kdrama but im fast forwarding through lovely runner now, and being taken back to how BTS properly saved my life back in 2018. and then when j hope made that speech at MAMA, i rmb just bawling lmao bcos i thought about giving up on my own life just as the band thought abt not being BTS anymore

kpop has since gone on to no longer be a real or big part of my life but damn if it didn’t get through the hardest of days at one point, and i don’t even know how it did that, i first got into it in 2011, then stayed with it till abt 2012-2013, then came back in 2018-2019, was in and out of it in 2020-2021/2

guess it’s also “relatable” cos the chars in lovely runners are teens in 2008, and 2008-2010s were my teen years, though i have close to zero memory and nostalgia abt that period lol. it’s a problem actually, the fact that i block out my past so that it has no effect on the person i want to be in the future. i see the past as a resource that limits

hard to explain but iykyk—kpop and suicidal ideation and how a lot of it is like faith in a way, a religion, idols as saviours, and so on

This whole hatred against N and her potentially getting with D reminds me of the Vampire Diaries and it’s treatment of WOC especially Bonnie who has great chemistry with a couple of guys especially one of the male leads also called Damon(lol). Unfortunately the Delena fanbase was the Daemyra of TVD so ofc they were clearly threatened by Baemon’s chemistry and were also pretty racist towards Bonnie as was the writers. It’s very obvious because the show was based on books and they were a thing in them but Bonnie was white as well there. And when confronted over their racist treatment on the character one of the show runners was like “I looove Bonnie! Do you seriously want her to end up with a psycho killer like D?! She deserves better!” Basically the same BS D*emyra stans say.🙄How interesting the way things haven’t changed in fandoms when it comes to a black woman being seen as desirable and worthy of love. They already pulled similar crap with Laena in HOTD. If they do it with N as well despite there being tons of evidence that she and D might have been potentially romantically involved it will be so obvious embarrassing how racist they are their whole “we’re tying to be diverse”PR they’re trying to sell will crash and burn. D watching N leave as Caraxes screams is such an iconic scene! If they change it in favour of some astrocious BS like they did with L’s death😡😤

Lol yeah I never got into the Vampire Diaries(I only watched like one episode), but I know about the chaos surrounding that show especially the BTS drama. Julie Pec did Kat Graham/her character dirty and I’m sure that the fan base did not help.

From what I have heard the Pec woman was “in love with Damon” which definitely did not help matters.

Cause when you praise one couple(featuring a WW) in a certain trope, but then turn around and say “no that can’t be” for another couple(featuring a WOC or BW) with the same trope, then it becomes super obvious why you really don’t like that couple being together.

They did not handle Laena and Daemon’s relationship correctly, but that’s over with so 🤷🏽‍♀️ Honestly I don’t think(my optimism side is showing again) Daemyra is going to be endgame in the show. For one, the show writers do not seem to like them together or Daemon in general.

Then you have the issue of Nettles 👩🏾 🐉🐑essentially being Daemon’s last arc before he goes on his “suicide mission.” He’s with Nettles night😏 and day. She’s his constant “companion” for the last 6 months to a year? of his life.

Rhaenyra 👸🏼 is off in the capital stress eating 🍰, listening to bad advice(cough cough Misery’s miserable behind), her kids are dropping like flies, and she is slowly losing her mind.

Unless they are going to change all of that and somehow make Rhaenyra some warrior queen🤣 who is constantly fighting battles alongside Daemon which would take her away from you know ruling 🙃, Daemyra is not gonna be end game.

This isn’t some CW teen show(no disrespect to those shows). They would literally ruin the show by proping up Daemon and Rhaenyra’s stale relationship to appease a small number(I’ve seen quite a few other white fans get annoyed with their behavior) of horny suspect stans. If they do not include that last scene where Daemon sends off Nettles(to protect her) that is a hate crime. Lol

GRRM seems to have a soft spot for Daemon and Nettles so hopefully he will help steer things in the right direction. Make Nettles Daemon’s “redemption” arc. I do not care just keep it book canon when it comes to his relationship(which is romantic/sexual in nature) with Nettles.

1. in the first official ukiss activity since hoon returned from the army, hoon hugged soohyun and then soohyun tried to kiss him in return on live broadcast, and jun just sat off to the side, covering his face bc he was too goddamn embarrassed LMAO (and then soohyun sulked on twitter later asking if hoon didn’t want to be kissed by him and hoon had to do damage control and say he did, he just got surprised LOL).... honestly ukiss is so wild i expected nothing less from them once they reunited haha (x)

2. seungkwan getting to live out his successful kissme dreams and dance bingeul bingeul (the song he auditioned with) with ukiss themselves. truly one of my favorite fanboy moments (x) (on a related note: i especially love this kissmecarat moment i technically started)

So, I’ve been on and off thinking about and drafting this post for most of the year, and it’s finally time for me to unveil it to the world: we are now very close to the end of the year and the end of the 2010s, and while Sonic soundtracks have mostly kept their god-like status, I for sure played and listened to a lot more games than just Sonic. Because of that, I’m kinda in the mood to remember and revisit some of the games with the best soundtracks out there. 

Disclaimer: remember this is merely a personal list, where I take into consideration the game soundtracks that influenced me the most due to overall quality or hype surrounding them. I’m aware of the limitations of the giant task of listing 10 years of VGM, so this post is also an open invitation to all sorts of discussions for the myriad of games I’m surely gonna miss, and maybe even a door into other fandoms I used to take part or still am. I wish they had turned up those guitars a little more and had less of that like, thrumming EDM sound. ah, also jinhyuk is a really talented rapper, I think his verses will always be the highlight of these songs for me.

white night (2016): it opens on wooseok in a sexy hockey player outfit, u know I am into a sexy hockey concept. also Wooseok’s eyeliner and black hair make him look so much younger, he gives me baby bts vibes, it’s adorable. this song is okay I guess, I REALLY DONT KNOW BECAUSE I GOT SO DISTRACTED AS SOON AS SOMI SHOWED UP. SOMI??? SOMI???? Jeon Somi????? wow they got Somi to be in this video. I love Somi, she’s so cute. OMG THERES SEXY HOMOEROTIC BLEEDING AND HOLDING EACH OTHER AT THE END. im not sure what all of these scenes of them sexily playing hockey have to do with Somi but im here for it. also one of the non-jinhyuk non-wooseok members kind of resembles jungkook--  I think his name is Kogyeol? the one with Somi at the end? so, dangerous (2015): this is their debut song right? the stupid punctuation drives me crazy first of all lol. the intro to this video gives me debut BTS in almost every way-- from the black and white filter to the school uniform type outfits to the siren noises-- it’s a good thing they didn’t keep that up for the whole video or they would have fielded a lot of plagiarism accusations... yamma ni ggumeun mwoni (MWONI)... but I think I actually would have preferred it to the sound of this track which is pretty generic techno pop. what else can I say, other than wooseok is beautiful

(2015): FINALLY a song that actually slaps!!! this goes the hardest out of all these songs so far it’s just a cute little bop and we appreciate it. wooseok is saddled with an unfortunate firetruck red bowl cut here but his beauty still cannot be contained. a couple of other guys are showing visuals here though. First of all, Kpop is not just simply pop music, as the name suggests. Within the genre kpop are actually many different genres of music mingled and there’s something nice for (almost) everyone to find. I’ll give you some information about my favourite groups that might help you find what you could like. I will also link mostly title songs as they are the more popular songs and usually have a music video (kpop music videos are always very aesthetic btw).

Starting off with my ultimate favourite group Stray Kids. They are still rookies as they debuted in March 2018 but I’ve fallen in love with them and their music so much that I highly recommend you checking them out. Why did I make this blog: for my fangirl needs ofc,it was always mainly about my current interests, it was for my book fandoms then I got interested in astrology at some point then I was in a 1D phase and an emo one also but I don’t think I posted about that and yeah I’m now mainly kpop, but still got other things in here. you and jihoon had this unspoken rivalry that till this day, no one knows why

except your coach and jihoon

essentially, you and jihoon trained under the same coach when the two of you were younger

one day your coach praised you for nailing a camel spin and jihoon was jealous

not because he didnt have the ability to do so, but your coach rarely compliments the both of you

so from then on he started to lowkey hate you bc you were the "first" skater to break the "no compliment" facąde of your coach

and then it just got worse when the both of you started to enter competitions

the both of you do top your catergories and your coach praised the both of you nonetheless

but jihoon cant seem to let the hatred go,, despite being older than you

your coach found it funny how jihoon couldnt let his childhood jealousy go after so many years of training together

like,,, youve matured in your looks but not your jealousy??

you on the other hand had no idea why jihoon hated you sm

so you just hated him back LOL

during training, the both of you would be uber competetive

oh jihoon did a double axel? you would do a triple axel and double toe combination

oh you did a biellman spin?? jihoon would do a biellman spin and then an I spin right after

on the other hand, fellow figure skater!guanlin tries to salvage a friendship

you do have friends you meet outside of korea during competitions

and they always tease you about jihoon

but you always shake your head and threaten to loosen the laces in their skates if they uttered the word "Jihoon" one more time

during competition season it was always common for fellow skaters to evaluate between themselves

and this time, ice prince baejin was your mentor

he was like the yuzuru hanyu of your team

there was this certain element in your routine which was pretty difficult to nail

which is a triple axel and a triple loop

you asked your coach to cut it down to a double loop instead but he told you he had faith in you so you felt bad and just tried to nail it from scratch

and of course, baejin was worried but neither was he in any position to change your routine

so he had to help you and guide you through

he was patient in every step and made sure your landing does not compromise on your ankle

meanwhile, as jihoon watched the both of you interact he cant help but to feel a certain feeling bubbling at the put of his stomach

was it jealousy? was it anger?

he could only watch afar when baejin pulled you up from your fall as the both of you exchanged giggles

so jihoon just skated around the rink, trying to show off a few jumps and spins as perfect as possible

baejin saw it, and smirked, "why dont your coach get Jihoon-hyung to help you? hes the best at jumps though,"

you could only smile sheepishly, "we arent really close enough to do that"

"ah..." it all clicked in baejin's head already, "not close enough--ow!"

"youre supposed to coach me, not play cupid."

on the competition day, as you practiced the dreaded combination on flat ground, you did exactly as what baejin told you to do and your coach was proud

until... you went on ice

you were not the type to make any mistakes on ice, but the combination failed you as you landed quite roughly and fell

you heard multiple gasps from the audience and could already visualise yourself getting cut out of the team

nonetheless, you continued on and finished the routine nicely

as you exited the rink, tears were already forming when your coach tried to comfort you, and you quickly shrugged on your jacket

in the end, you were placed as a runner up, which wasnt bad but not up to your expectations

when you walked back to the locker room, you walked past jihoon and his friends who were seemingly laughing about something

"yah, did you see her fall? it was tragic" you heard one of his friends snicker

"i know right, shes gonna get cut off."

you glared at jihoon, whilst he was still smiling at their joke

and that made you hate jihoon even more

having the audacity to hate you for no reason and now laughing at your fall? he was being such a blatant bitch about it and wasnt even sorry

you stormed off, exiting the gymnasium to get some fresh air

then settling on a park bench and sighing into your slouch

your brain took over the rest of your feelings as your tears stained your face again, makeup long erased from your previous tears

just then, you felt a presence beside you and looked up, it was jihoon, carrying a plastic bag

your rolled your eyes as you got ready to stand up, an arm pulling you back into your seat

"what? are you gonna laugh at me more for my fall? mr perfect jumps?" you sniffed

"you idiot," jihoon shook his head as he took out a bandage and some dettol,"you dont even notice that youre bleeding"

you looked at your left shin, and heck, it was, blood cascading down your legs and staining your white nikes

"give me your leg," jihoon patted his tigh as he shrugged off his jacket and placed it on your tighs

you obediently complied, as jihoon gently dressed your wound and occasionally asking you if the dettol was stinging

you were genuinely touched that jihoon would actually care for you though, since he has been hating you for so long

after he bandaged your wound, he cleared his throat awkwardly,

"if you want me to i can beat up those bastards for you, they got a scolding from me already--"

you were surprised that jihoon actually wasnt laughing with them, as you giggled

"its fine, they wont even be able to make it to the team anyways"

jihoon raised his eyebrows, as he cleared his throat again, "do you want to watch my routine later? coach choi said that it was my personal best"

you scoffed as you rolled your eyes, he was using your coach to make you jealous

"yeah sure, i'll see if coach choi's right"

"then i'll--"

just then, jihoon's phone rang, and he pulled his phone away from his ear as soon as he picked it up

"i'm sorry, i gotta go now"

before you could return jihoon his jacket, he disappeared into the gymnasium already

you begrudgingly sat beside your coach as you watch jihoon prepare himself on ice

no doubt, he looked hella good in his costume, a white button up and black pants

what made you more surprised was the song he was skating to

it was Spring Day by BTS

you remember yourself always playing Spring Day in the background when you warmed up in the rink during practice

it was your favourite song

when the song was reaching its climax, jihoon did a series of triple axels and quads, which was honestly really pretty and he landed perfectly

during the chorus he actually danced on the ice?? like wOaH

you were throughly impressed honestly, it takes alot of effort and skill to be able to dance on ice

with stray parts of his blonde hair flying wind, he looked ethereal

you getting snatched was an understatement

during the bridge, he did a quad lutz which was, really mind blowing

in the end, jihoon did clinch that champion title

you swore if he didnt get that you would physically fight the judges

you thought jihoon would saunter to you just to show off that he was the champion,, but no

he gave you the flowers he was gifted with one of his knees on the floor

“y/n... i know we have been hating on each other for the longest time, i really dont want to keep up with this honestly, will you be my girlfriend?”

before you could turn to your coach, he was already filming the whole ordeal on his mobile phone

you shyly nodded, as jihoon picked you up and spun you around aaa

the next thing you saw trending on the internet was you and jihoon’s relationship LOL

dating jihoon didn’t make the competetiveness go away tbh

except that jihoon would actually stop when he thinks its too dangerous for you to attempt

warm up is no longer you warming up alone

jihoon warms up with you with cheeky rounds of tag on ice

you have never fell on ice thanks to jihoon

because that boy would blast to your side just to catch you

Thought on 2017 Khiphop Discussions Awards

Well, I was pretty shocked at how popular Sik-K is. I’ve barely heard any type of hype about him so his fans are silent but y’all are out here. He even beat Zico and DPR Live in “Best Male Artist” category which are two universal favorites. I can remember who I voted for but it was probably either Changmo or Nucksal. After hearing “Her” I’d probably have considered voting DPR Live too.

I knew Heize was gonna win Best Female Artist, even with Jessi nominated. She’s been doing great this year.

For song of they year, I thought “We Are” was gonna win. I voted for “No Thanxxx” which got second place. “Iffy” won overall.

For Idol Rapper OTY, I knew Zico would probably win because he’s a universal favorite. I think I voted Mino. Bobby got second place.

Best Diss, It was neck and neck for Young B to Ness and Wonjae to Woochan. I voted, Young B to Ness. Wonjae to Woochan won.

SMTM6 Honorary, I thought Nucksal would have gotten MAN more votes (especially being 1st runner up and all. He got dead last place. I thought Woochan should have gotten more votes (I voted him). Junoflo was actually second place. Wonjae won with a huge lead over everyone though. Not surprising.

DPR Live won this one easily. I, of course, voted Geeks. I was glad they just got nominated tbh lol. I was hoping I’d get to give this award to them (even though it’s not even a physical award lol) but DPR Live is cool. Second place was Punchnello. Followed by BlackNine (that’s a bit of a surprise). Hyoeun and No:el tied for 4th place. Khundi Panda beat Geeks for 5th.

Album of the Year, I knew where this was going hahaha. “We’ve Done Something Wonderful” got 1st place of course. Second was H.A.L.F, which further affirmed how much people REALLY like Sik-K. 3rd place (Zico’s “Television”.) wasn’t even close. I voted, Changmo’s “Getting Money Moment”. In my heart, Geeks “Fireworks” is the Album of the Year but it didn’t get nominated. I just wonder why Sik-K fans are so quiet? Like why do you guys hide?

Best New Artist, DPR Live won easily. Second place, Wonjae. Third was One. I voted for One because of course. It was a hard choice between him and No:el since both were great. However, if “Her” had met the deadline, I’d probably would have had an even harder time choosing. I’d probably have chosen DPR Live though.

Achievement Award...when I said “Table isn’t eligible to win the award again since he already won in 2016″ I thought that was gonna keep him from being nominated again (hopefully, making it so Teddy or DyDuo could win) but of course you guys just nominated Epik High lol. Tiger JK got second place, then DyDuo. I voted DyDuo. (Teddy didn’t even get nominated this year :(  )

Company of the Year....I was really hoping AOMG wouldn’t win. They did so good for them. No hate. I just think that maybe this wasn’t the best year for them and people voted based on past biases as opposed to actually considering and weighing out who did what this year. But that can be said for any award so I won’t harp on it.

Hip Hop Inspired Group OTY, of course BTS Won. Surprisingly, Block B got second place? I think I voted for B.A.P though. I agree with the BTS win though.

Best Crew. Fancy Child won with 48.7% of the votes. It wasn’t even close. Not even Dickids (3rd) or Club Eskimo (2nd) could even break 15%.

SMTM6 Best Song. “Red Sun” lost by .4%. Basically one vote. I voted for “VVIP”. Yozm Gang was actually my least favorite out of all the nominees but I don’t really have any gripe with it winning.

Collab OTY. I voted “No Thanxx” it tied for second with “Most Hated”. “Fancy Child” by Fancy Child won though.

i recently watched wanna one on i can see ur voice and i was so hyped cus i’ve missed my babies so much and i was afraid i had forgotten them a little bit from all the bts rookie kings & american hustle life. and my bias wrecker minhyun, my husband, my love… was gorgeous as usual but im honestly uncomfortable af.

i usually love his screentime cus damn he’s like my fav???but literally the first thing he does is to call a girl untalented and he doesnt even know why he basically just says she looks untalented and he goes with this for like 10 min??

not to mention that after 40 min i tbh kinda want him to shut up for the rest of the episode bc im disappointed and hurt. the way he talked about those girls… cus he didn’t nly diss the first girl, no out for FOUR girls he predicted that ALL of them would be tone deaf EXCEPT for the one girl who constantly was mistaken for being a boy. 

like daniel was wrong the first time and after that he was really embarassed and chose to be quiet for the rest of the show. yet he had kind of arguments for thinking the way he did since the tone death would be a marathon runner and the guy he was judging was pretty tall and skinny. 

but minhyun was like ??? he didnt have any arguments he was basically judging the girls on their appearance. he even said ”i dont know if i can say this but” THEN WHY TF ARE U SAYING IT IF U KNOW ITS GONNA BE STUPID/OFFENSIVE/SEXIST. he literally said “it looks like she’s singing without thinking”, going for the ”pretty girls are dumb” stereotype and then later discussing with jaehwan that pretty girls often relies on their appearance and arent that pretty?? 

idk man maybe i’m overanalyzing the situation but i just dont like this at all and i just wanna say (mostly true convince myself lmao cus i love him) that he got a big ass red flag warning and im gonna drop his ugly ass in the speed of light if something similar is gonna come up again or he doesnt apologize. im disappointed af. people may think im overreacting but as a feminist who literally have spend the past 5 years trying to avoid sexist men you could say i got this sexist-radar lmao and when i get a gut feeling…. it usually turns out to be right lol.
