I'm so happy with how this came out! Made it for the gw2 discord's carving competition. It took a long time, but it was worth it. My boy Brylox makes a beautiful jack-o-lantern.

Used this screenshot as my reference.

I really underestimated the size of the guide I printed out so it turned out super tiny on the pumpkin.

Havoc Warband - A well known group of troublemakers in their fahrar, they decided on the name Havoc because it fit them perfectly. The connection to Bathea Havocbringer was an added bonus.

Chaskana Havocwreaker - One of the main troublemakers in the group, and the one who usually ends up getting caught. She is happy to take the credit.

Brylox Havocsinger - The other main troublemaker, more well known for his singing and poetry. Will often write songs about their exploits but usually in a way that frames Chaskana.

Craval Havockeeper - Kept the rest of the bunch in line as best he could when they were cubs and was their legionnaire.

Selara Havocbomber - Had a knack for making explosives which she learned by sneaking into Iron Legion lessons and plenty of experimentation. Caused plenty of havoc but was very charming and was let off the hook most of the time.

Druvark Havocweaver - A flame legion cub forced into their group. They warmed up to him pretty quickly despite his gruff personality. Named as such for the way he wove himself into the group and his fighting style of weaving in and out of the fray.

Dire Warband - They chose this name to strike fear into their enemies. Still working on building this one, only have two fully named but I have the surnames for the rest. The meanings are liable to change after I work on them a bit more.

Brakan Direfate - A warning to his enemies that they won’t make it out unscathed.

Amalea Direshot - Wicked good with a gun.

Diregrasp - Good at grasping the situation at hand and undefeated arm wrestling champion in the group. You do not want to grapple with them.

Direblade - Good with a knife, but mostly with cooking. Your enemies don’t need to know that though.

Direnote - Designated report and letter writer. Very good at conveying their needs to their superiors and getting what they request. The surname just adds some extra weight to their communication skills.

Direthreat- Very hostile and quick to react with verbal threats

Diremaw - Buddy has some gnarly teeth

ok lore question for people with charr characters because ir eally want to know: what is their surname, what warband are they apart of, and what meaning does the surname have?

Thinking about how Chaskana would react if she found out that Basmani had known that her warband would die. That he had spoken to them multiple times and not given an ounce of warning other than the usual "be careful out there" or "stay safe".

She felt so thankful and indebted to him after he saved Brylox but all of those feelings would be gutted the moment she found out. There would be no remedy, their relationship would be completely destroyed.

And Emcras? What would he do? Basmani's lover and Chaskana's friend. He would certainly be on Chaskana's side, I think. But would he be able to forgive Basmani? And if he could, would he be able to maintain his friendship with Chaskana? Would she still accept him?

This wouldn't come about in their main story. Basmani knows he would never be forgiven and Aimvara wouldn't spill his secret. It would lie dead and buried in his conscience. But now I have a horrid AU to play with where everything falls bitterly apart if I'm really in the mood for some angst.

Fun fact, despite being the one who died and was brought back by Basmani, Brylox wouldn't be as emotional as Chaskana. He certainly wouldn't be friendly with Basmani, but worse has been done to him and he's too caught up in the fact that someone else got to kill Balthazar. He'd rather focus on the others who were forced into the god's army like him and to help them, he needs Basmani.

Y'all are getting a two-for-one deal on Charr for tomorrow's art party. Brylox may no longer be a Charr in body, but he will forever be Charr at heart.

Brylox has been through a lot of suffering, but he lives by the motto, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

He was killed in a Forged ambush with the rest of his Warband, save Chaskana, who made it out alive. Instead of being able to pass on into the mists, his soul was captured and fused into the metal body of a Forged Hookhead. He didn’t succumb easily to the forced servitude. The torture meant to make him fall in line only drove him to find ways to work around it. Instead of attacking innocent villagers, he turned his pent-up rage on the awakened forces in the Desolation. He would not lose sight of himself in that burning metal body.

One day, his world was turned upside down yet again. He was subdued and captured by a Sylvari and taken to the Chantry of Secrets where an agent loosened the chains that bound him and allowed his ghost to leave the metal confines. It was there he was reunited with his best friend, Chaskana, and the process towards reforging him a new body began.

I’ll leave it there for now. I’m still figuring out what information they needed to reforge him into a warhound jackal. So far, we’ve got a Charr, two Sylvari, and a Djinn with the combined knowledge of necromancy, a little golemancy, jackals, warclaws, forged, and the exalted. And it all combines to form a beautiful new body for my boy.

Didn't realize how tiring putting together references is. It's just compiling screenshots from the aesthetician and hero panel, but it's so boring.

A lot of my focus with Havoc Warband has always been on Chaskana and Brylox. The others felt more like supporting characters, having not developed them too much as most of my worldbuilding has been on the time after they've already passed.

But I really started diving deep into Druvark's story today and I love them so much. It hurts so much more that someone who just found themself, someone who finally feels free to be who they are, dies (and stays dead) so soon after. I'm heartbroken and I did it to myself.

I'll post more about them when I get around to finally getting the character intros up. They're getting one of those appearance/story progression pics for sure though.

Every time I open up toyhouse to update my characters’ profiles I just end up overwhelmed and immediately close out of it. I also need to write up introduction posts for them on this blog.

So, for forced accountability I’m going to make a poll for which character I work on first and work through them based on the number of votes.

🖋 for chaskana? 🤲

Chaskana was once a wild child, following her friends in the fahrar into trouble without a second thought. The five of them formed the Havoc Warband, and she named herself Chaskana Havocwreaker.

She was the brawns of the group alongside Brylox. Not one for tactics and leaving most of the protection up to Craval, their legionnaire, and the other Gaurdian, she took up the role of tank.

Even after Kralkatorrik's awakening, they kept up their mischief, looking for any way to find fun in the chaos and uncertainty surrounding them. Together, they could withstand anything.

When Kralkatorrik started moving toward Elona, the Havoc Warband was assigned to track it. It was a grueling and arduous journey fraught with danger, and just when they thought they could catch their breaths, two new enemy factions appeared in their way. They did their best to help the locals against the Awakened, Branded, and Forged, but eventually, they fell.

A Forged ambush wiped their party out, leaving only Chaskana alive. When she awoke in the Temple of Kormir, she was ready to charge straight into the forged camp, to take out as many as she could to avenge her friends; but her wounds were too bad, and she was bedridden, left with only the feelings of guilt and self-loathing.

She lost more than her friends that day. She lost the easy smile she carried, the spark of mischief in her eyes.

Were it not for the people around her, the priestesses caring for her, and the refugees that shared her pain, she would have thrown her life away in a senseless attack on the Forged. But they talked to her, though she was curt and turned a cold shoulder.

They taught her to wield a mace and focus instead of the greatsword she wielded and how to protect others when all she knew was how to kill.

It’s 5am and I got woken by an emergency alert test so have some sleepy notes on Trychinebau:

Almost became NMC but was ‘saved’ by previous reality’s Commander

was in a one sided friendship with said Commander who dragged her along

was a Pale Reaver during personal story

suspiciously absent during HOT because she wasn’t going anywhere near that jungle

was dragged to the desert and hated it

Commander’s friend who didn’t like her and knew she wasn’t good pushed her into quicksand and left her for dead

✨Awakened✨

bargained with Joko to not be a mindless killing piece but instead a weapon of subterfuge

put on a Mesmer disguise to look like she was fine and returned to the Commander

was good at hiding her emotions from Sylvari empathy before so nobody really notices that she’s not connected anymore

quickly devises an accident to get rid of the Commander’s friend before they can tell

informs Joko of the Commander’s movements and helps lead them into a trap

Joko kills the Commander, not sure about Aurene yet - keeps her as a pet/captive?

anyhow, Trychinebau holds a pretty lofty position after that and generally hangs around in Vabbi

is helping to train newly awakened when:

⁉️dragged through the mists by Brydolon and swiftly thrown back in ⁉️

but Brylox and Chaskana ram into her when jumping through sand portals and she’s knocked back into a different reality’s Crystal Desert

angrily grapples with Chaskana until she’s thrown off and stops as she realizes what’s different

she’s free

there is no more Joko

now very Chill, she hangs around the sidelines of my main group for a bit

travels to Jahai bluffs to collects the remnants of this Joko’s staff

gives her some kinda closure

she connects with the awakened of this reality and helps them settle into this life without Joko

Yeah that was longer than I thought it’d be.

Anyhow. She’s not a good person. She doesn’t really feel any remorse for selling her world to Joko but she wasn’t really a fan of him either. It’s just how things went.

she’s a very go with the flow person and if the flow stabs you in the back, turn around and kill it.
