[ PLASTIC-FREE JULY ] Thanks @brucesroots for this challenge. Here is a clip of me the other day FAILING my challenge on Day 2. . 🌍 I packed my #Stormtrooper shaker cup to get an iced beverage at Starbucks and FORGOT to use it... I ordered an iced tea through the app. D'OH! . 🌍 I am putting out major efforts to completely eliminate disposable plastic consumption this month but it is not easy. I didn't realize how much planning would be involved. I went running at the track the other day and was going to grab a bottled water at the gas station and instead had to buy a can of coconut water. At least I caught myself that time. . 🌍 I am challenging the rest of you to jump on the Plastic-free July initiative too! #tacotuesday #veganfriendly I’m taking a leaf out of my friend @brucesroots book and trying to eat less meat. Please check out her page as she’s incredibly passionate about what she does and eating vegan. Tonight’s dinner was corn tortilla, a roughly mashed black bean shmere if you will, garlic, onions, jalapeño, cilantro, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil. If you know me, I love tacos, and this is just another delicious and healthy twist on our favourite dish. I’d love to hear what your favourite taco recipes are so I can try them out!

Eat your vegetables 🥑🥒🍆🥕 . . Yesterday was World Vegan Day and I have a few friends who posted Insta Stories on how they were celebrating and offering recipes to try. I myself do not follow a vegan diet so if you are vegan, you have to check out these ladies @brucesroots and @erinireland . . There are a lot of positives to a vegan diet, but most importantly you should be eating for your own body and health. Everyone is different and distinct in their needs, so its important to know what’s best for YOU. I never follow a strict diet, but do my best to eat in moderation (Wine is an exception!) and I almost never turn down a cookie or slice of pie 🙈 . . Going into Winter means more comfort foods, so I have to remind myself to eat my vegetables (to avoid scurvy of course and other mild side affects of only eating meat and potatoes 😉) Happy harvesting! 🍁
