Why is it that nearly every viral brown eyes appreciation post on the internet has people with blue/green/etc eyes inserting themselves into the conversation? Like God fucking forbid we have something for ourselves without you bringing yourself up or bitching and moaning.

Is it weird that my little brother mentioned no one has eyes like him on tv (pretty brown), and I started looking for characters with brown eyes like him so he would see himself in the characters he watched

And now I have trouble writing characters with other eye colors because I’ve seen how few brown eyes are in animation and books and how that affected my brother

Like in ATLA they gave the fire nation GOLDEN eyes and there were no brown eyes. They were really jumping over hoops to avoid that.

I’m astounded when I see this and happy now when I notice brown eyes (especially in animation). All because of my little brother who didn’t see people with brown eyes like him.

(To note: My eyes are a strange blue Hazel, in that they regularly change color but stay in the blue/gray area, sometimes green. I have never met another person with this eye thing but I have seen many similarities in animation despite it not being common at all.) (that’s not cool)
