I had a weekend recently where the mood for short and poetically inspired works took over; I was in the depths of “The Book of Disquiet”, and although I absolutely adore it, it’s a book which can’t be rushed. So I needed something to read alongside it and I spotted some slim volumes sitting on my shelves which looked perfect. In the end, I read four different titles and I thought I would split…

This the face of someone who has had broken sleep since Wednesday because back pain. I was really hoping that the pain meds I got from the doctors at the RBWH would work but Tuesday (the day I went to and come home from the hospital) was the only night I slept without waking up in pain. I really don’t want to be taking endone for my pain because it is chronic, if there is something that can help the meds I have work better than I’d take that over having to take endone. Here's hoping for sleep, an undisturbed sleep, a sleep where I don't wake up a million times either from pain or insomnia. Me and sleep are not friends, I don't get restorative sleep as it is so when I don't manage to get any at all or a few broken hours it ruins me and my mental health suffers. Rest, recovery and sleep are so so important for your mental wellbeing and for your body in general, I've suffered with sleep deprivation for as long as I can remember and when I went to the doctors about it I was told sleeping tablets were not an option because they eventually stop working and I would benefit from practising sleep hygiene instead, I tried so hard with sleep hygiene and didn't see much difference to my sleep but I still practise it in hopes that it may help. BLURRRGGHH! The reason why one is officially hanging out of ones bum today! I have no idea what time this little monkey crept into our super king size bed (again) but Matt and I ended up hanging off the edge and little lord H here got the rest of the bed! What do you do when the baby won't sleep?.... well you paint something of course ( well in my case) you also eat 3 cakes... and drink 3 cups of tea, but I think that part might be just me! 😂 All I have to say is teething sucks - I hate to see my poor baby girl in pain with her gums and ears .
