Yahoo (Stranger Things Have Happened) Cash League Week 15 Rd 1 Playoff Recap 💰🤑💸

A tight race to the end with massive jumps and falls eventually led to PapaKess and Omar to bye weeks. Yahoo was the only league with two top seeds having double digit wins.

With those two having byes, Delmar & Jermaine had to battle. The other game was yet again, the best friends/commish vs commish battle between Johnny and Taurean.

Taurean 💸 Johnny

"Commish VS Commish Battle of Best Friends"

Mahomes did his thang for Johnny. He scored the most points on either roster in the matchup scoring 58 points. He would need that as Taureans RBs scored nearly 3x times as much as his. Once again, Zonovan did not do Johnny any favors.

Although smaller than usual, Godwin/Ekler/DPJ got Johnny adequate points. Montgomery had to score what he did with Khalil Herbert out.

Taureans play of Dalton netted less than half of what mahomes did. The trio of Hill, CMC. And Barkley carried Taureans team. The thing is, they were the only true workhorses as the other starters didn't amount to much. The Driskell play didnt pan out out and Dallas Def underwhelmed. The combo of shortcomings doomed Taureans chances against Johnny.

The bench didn't fare any better for T even if he had played Carr. Johnny made the correct calls on who to play and who not to play.

All in all, Taurean deserves credit for making the playoffs. Johnny advances with a struggling team roster.

Key note: These two competitors also faced each other in another Core 4️⃣ league. They each won one game against each other (Yahoo & Sleeper).

Jermaine 💰 Delmar

"Battle of Coleagues"

Where to begin? Delmar is the definition of Stranger Things Have Happened. Delmar was not a favorite to bet on so to speak (no offense). Yet, Delmar kept winning. This was a big turn around for him to earn a 3rd seed and even make the playoffs. Hats off on the improvement in this league (and another Sleeper).

Jermaine on the other hand, just barely avoided the commish curse 💀. Steadily climbing back in towards the playoffs after being in last place. Last place! Even toward the end of the regular season he was a Longshot play. The fierce competition led to some crazy rank scenarios each week which favored the Commissioner. At one point, he jumped 5 spaces in rank! Tie breaks were not looking good in his favor even tho he had more points than everyone else... except Ricky. Slick to his credit almost played upset in NFL and this league. It came down to wins rather than tie break (had Slick won, he had way more points than Jermaine). So many avenues to get in the playoffs makes things tense but exciting as well.

Stevenson, Kittle, & Waddle did thier thing for Jermaine and Fournette did his usual. Although Hubbard and Theilin surprised on his bench, Delmar took the win by playing all the right people. Other than Broncos Defense and an outta nowhere 61 point performance from Trevor, Delmar had it in the bag. His starters line for line outplayed Jermaines roster.

Is Delmar the Cinderella story of the year *no jinx* For Jermaine, an applause for being in the postseason from the regular season he had. Finishing. 500 didn't seem in the cards nor the playoffs but he did it.

While battle of the bros (Taurean & Jermaine) face off in a commish vs commish for 5th place, the final 4 competitors have their games set.

Coming off thier bye week with multiple game leads, Omar will face Delmar in the unexpected bout of the 2nd round. Johnny will find his grit against runaway unknown PapaKess.

A bias root for L.O.L members Delmar & Johnny and good look luck to all in the dash for da cash superbowl next week!

I am seeing that... I like either long, blabbering beginnings focusing on some intense thought or emotion OR very short beginning lines that work either as a punch or throw you straight in the middle of a conversation. For a person who struggles with dialogue, I do love starting stories with someone saying something... damn

One thing I notice that I would like to work on... I think I would like to get to the action quicker? I tend to have these very slow beginnings where I focus on some thoughts first and maybe end up taking a look at some past thing but. that’s just how my brain works? Tho I’ve been working on balancing between the present moment (what is happening) and the past (what has already happened) but it’s still in progress :’D I just like to get to everything at once haha

My favorite lines... both spoken lines! so numbers 1 and 3. Tho I also love how my upcoming pingxie starts and I always felt good about hope your night isn’t painful. The whole beginning sequence for that is so cool (even if I say so myself).

Don't mind me, just a casual nitpicky rant about Yowamushi Pedal under the cut lul

OK I am going to preface this by saying that I love Yowamushi Pedal. It’s one of my favorite animes, let alone favorite sports anime. Also everything I am about to say is completely my opinion for (what that’s worth loooooooool) so please don’t take it overly seriously it’s just my dumb rambles.

Anyway I AM VERY DISAPOINTED BY SO MANY THINGS IN YOWAMUSHI PEDAL SEASON 4 (that I finally watched after literal years) AND I AM UPSET.

· First things first, I just really miss the seniors. Even though I love Teshima and Aoyagi, and ofc I love Onoda, Naruko, and Imaizumi, I personally feel like Kaburagi and Danchiku are kind of lacking. I don’t dislike them (Kaburagi did take a while to grow on me tho) but compared to the characters we lost they just aren’t as good. They do not fill the hole in my heart.

· Speaking of Kaburagi, I get it’s for the lolz but it low key pisses me off that he doesn’t realize how much Aoyagi sacrifices for him and helps him. It’s frustrating. Give my boy the credit he deserves >:(

· And speaking of Aoyagi, though I adore him, I am so sorry… His inflation power is just really really bad. It looks dumb as hell. I get that it’s paying homage to Tadokoro but like… It’s just SO stupid looking. :( And I know Yowapeda is full of tons of silly and bizarre things (it’s one of the things that endears me to the series) but that is just bad.

· I am not upset about Sohoku not winning the first days sprint. I think it makes sense story wise, Sohoku won the first day sprint last year yadda yadda. I also get that with Hakone losing last year, they would be even tougher and more formidable this year, so I am not mad about that either. What I am mad about is how much the author is SHITTING ON SOHOKU. TWO WHOLE DAYS GO BY. THAT IS THREE RACES A DAY AND THEY DON’T WIN ONE OF THEM. IN TWO DAYS. WHO IS THIS SERIES ABOUT AGAIN??? Like I get it Hakone is out for blood but like, SOHOKU HAS BEEN WORKING THEIR ASSES OFF TOO TF???

· I was heartbroken over Teshima’s loss. It was so fucking frustrating. Like, you spent all this time focusing on him and his struggles, how he is surrounded by all these team mates with natural talent and sport super powers, but he himself is just a normal guy who had to bust his ass to be worthy of his position and riding with his team mates. And he DID work his ass off! He sacrificed so much of himself to be in the inner high!!! And instead of it being like this uplifting moment of ‘hard work paid off, I won!’ HE LOST. And not only did he lose, he poured so much or himself into taking the mountain that he totally wore himself out, almost passed out until Onoda caught him, and was just like useless for the rest of the day. And then, at the start of next day’s race, he became a burden weighing down the team a bit because he was still worn out from day one. I hate it I hate it I hate it.

· And did you have to have hit us with the ‘is it really so wrong for me to want to win once?’ dialogue??? Bro… :(

· Then after this we have fucking Imazumi working with Hakone to get back to Naruko and Midousuji, and he like… totally helps Hakone by pulling for them and shit in hopes of ‘using’ them to get to Naruko, but he ends up being used and Sohoku loses that ending line as well to HAKONE. WHO HE ACTIVELY HELPED. :) It’s fine.

· SPEAKING of Midousuji I just… Don’t understand why his team puts up with him? At all. I really liked him first inter high (especially talking about his childhood and getting a glimpse at the more ‘human’ side of him) but like… Bro is straight up running his team like he’s a dictator. And he’s not even the captain, but he gets to make all the shots? He’s mean as hell to everyone on his team, uses them, and treats them like shit. I’m sorry, but if his rude ass was on a team I wanted to join I would a. not join at all, b. kick him out, or c. start a new team without him. :) I get that he is super talented and the main reason Kyofushi does as well as the do but like goddamn… He sure as hell isn’t making this fun at all. Or rewarding. Why would you want to help HIM win? At this point that’s what it is, not the team winning, just this stank ass who treats you like shit and calls you a Zaku. No fucking thanks!!!

· On that note, why the fuck would the audience react the way they did when Midousuji gave his winning speech??? Again, he was just being a mean bitch and rude af on the stand to the other competitors. If anything, everyone should have been uncomfortable or the MC should have taken the mic away. No one would go to this highschool race, see this kid acting like a total fuck to his competition and be like yeah! He’s right! Only winners matter and everyone else is trash! Fuck sportsmanship and being a team player!!! Like NO. As my boyfriend said, “This must be the same group of people that go to Trump rallies” asdfghjkl

· While on the topic of rude, Yuto is a far cry from Hayato ell oh ell. Sorry kid, but Running people off the road with your bike is not showing how superior and talented you are. It just shows that you are acting like an ass.

· I am not mad about Ashikiba becoming the mountain king because I love him and he deserves it, but I am mad that Onoda had to put up with Yuto’s bs during that whole race.

· And then, we get down to the end of day two. Sohoku hasn’t won shit, but it’s on Imaizumi, the ace, so there is a good chance for success FINALLY. It’s his time to shine. He’s in perfect form. He’s riding on the hopes of his team, up against Midousuji. This is the perfect opportunity for redemption. After all the prev years long bs Midousuji has put him through. After all the pain and loss Sohoku has gone through. After Naruko, my darling bean boy who has never done anything wrong ever, gives his ALL and fucking drags the team and Imaizumi to the finish line to get the win…

· You guessed it! He loses! To Midou-FUCKING-Suji!!!

· I just… Like was this fun to write and draw? Because I am not having a fun time watching it. > : (

· I get that they should struggle. I get other teams are super strong. But why the fuck does Sohoku, our boys, have to be the only ones struggling WITHOUT any payoff??? Not one win???

· Also I had the tiniest bit of hope that hey. Maybe Aoyagi and Teshima will take the final win and trophy for the final day??? Maybe??? Please???

· Then Aoyagi gets hurt so… Highly doubt that

· (I am still praying by some miracle Teshima wins overall because HE DESERVES IT but I am not holding my breath… Any manga readers do not spoil but please pray for me lul)

· So I just watched all this, and was like wait… The season is almost over??? The race isn’t finished and Sohoku hasn’t won anything! When does the next season come out???

· Not until Oct 2022. Which is already MONTHS away, but MAJOR condolences for my squad that watched this when it aired in 2018 and just had to wait for YEARS with this burden of loss on them, I am so sorry. :((((

· And my final major complaint is Kishigami. He makes me uncomfortable and honestly someone should have reported him for sexual assault and groping. Look, you can touch whoever’s muscle’s you want but why do you have to be so weird about it??? And please, just get consent first damn.

· (He should have copped a feel on Andy and Frank tho come on bro he was letting you and they are celebrities at this point)

This is nitpicky I know but I just wanted to vent because again… I love Yowapeda and I am only upset in the first place because my heart hurts. :,)

Let’s end on a happy note tho! Things I loved about this season:

· Any time I saw Naruko. Love him.

· Any time I saw Teshima (even when it hurts). Love him. So proud of our captain!

· Anytime I saw Makishima. Truly the best boy.

· Koga!!! I wish he could be more prominent and I wish he got to race, but I love him!

· Tsugimoto, who I used to not like at all, has become very charming. He and his brother are very cute together.

· Mrs. Sakamichi coming thru with the BEST BOY hats and giving one to Manami, which he wears and loves. Adorable.

· Ashikiba as a whole. I love everything about him. His attitude, his looks, his pink bike, how he’s ditzy, his love of Mother Nature. Just an all-around great boy. And I loved the scene with him and Yuto with Yuto coming into his own, it was very nice.

· But the BEST moment was my boy Aoyagi bringing back Kaburagi with the power of Love Hime’s first OP. Singing his lil soul out, not giving two fucks that everyone was laughing, dead serious the whole time. What a fucking champ.

Anyway forgive this conniption fit I just have a lot of feelings and want the next season to come out. TAT

Just watched TFATWS episode 4. I have a lot to say to continue at your own risk. Also, I'm gonna be all over the place so I might start off talking about the beginning of the episode but it won't last long

-Opening scene with Bucky made my heart squeeze

-Also Ayo could step on me idc

- The scene where the Dora Millaje warrior steps on the shield and catches it really gave off 'and what about it?' vibes and I love it

- She... she took his arm off...

- See this is why people need to just listen to Sam. Sam knows wassup

- I KNOW SHE DIDN'T JUST THREATEN SARAH AND HER BOYS!!! I LOVE YOU KARLI BUT I'LL FIGHT YOU!!!!

- Yall.... he did the knife thing. Bucky did the knife thing and my brain shot right back to CAWS. Iconic

- Also, dude, you're not gonna beat Bucky in a knife fight. Sorry bro

- the parallels in the whole show but this episode especially are insane

- "They weren't even super soldiers." Kinda a hilarious line but seeing John really struggle right there was something. You can see just how low he is in that moment, being caught totally off guard.

- I know it wasn't supposed to but that 'pointy sticks' line really didn't sit right with me. Again, I'm aware of the intent behind it, but it struck a nerve.

- Karli and Sam: both struggling in a world that isn't willing to hear them. Sam knows that what Karli is doing isn't the way, but he's still willing to listen and make her feel heard.

- John and Steve: I saw someone say that Steve is everything American can be, and John is everything America currently is. After watching that end scene.... yeah.

- More that I can't think about right now

- So obviously we know how this thing with John is gonna go. The symbol of protection in the U.S. is seen doing something that goes against everything they stand for and nothing happens. I'd love to see John suffer the consequences, but we'll likely see the government sweep it under the rug

- The way Sam looks at the shield covered in blood... same, dude. It was jarring and while I wasn't all that shocked I completely understand why so many people were disturbed.

- I can't describe how much I hate John Walker. I wanna say that I do think his character is interesting and well written, and I know they want the viewers to hate him, but god is it working. Everything from his entitlement to his impatience to the way he lands while chasing over one of Karli's soldiers (more on that later I guess). He's written so well but I just ugh

- Real quick, the entire cast for this show is perfect, but Anthony, Sebastian, and Wyatt are killing it!! They're such amazing actors and couldn't have been given a better role in the MCU

- This could be a reach but the way John lands, while he's chasing after one of Karli's soldiers (for lack of a name/better term), reminded me a lot of that scene in the first Avengers where Captain America stops the fight between Thor and Iron Man. Once again, we see John as the antithesis of Steve, being a part of and causing the problem instead of solving it.

-Also, Captain America doesn't use guns, John. Fuck you.

- I will not ever be over Lemar's death. First R**ph, now him. How much more do I have to take, marvel?? 😭

The Ian & Mickey Show

Week 9

Timestamps

3:33-4:54 - Ian wakes up hugging a pillow, presumably missing Mickey’s absent body. There’s a loud rumbling and an embarrassingly clown car-ish honking outside the house waking everybody up. It’s Mickey making a grand entrance on that sweet mint green Vespa scooter, and (very horribly and stiffly) “making out” with this unfortunate looking tiny twink named Byron (they def picked the most pretentious name possible for this interloper). Mickey is for sure putting on a big show for Ian that’s like 30% revenge, 70% pettiness. At first, you would think Mickey just paid some rando to act a part for a little while, but I guess Mickey is just conning this lil guy. Mickey grabs his ass in front of Ian, boasts about the guy’s “super tight asshole,” and casually strolls past him to get into the Gallagher house, because I guess he’s still staying there. And also, Ian’s leg is broken, but we knew that, cuz Cam. {For a better scene, keep the video rolling past the 4:54 mark and ogle Jeremy Allen White naked in the shower. It was his turn this week I guess. You’re safe, Cam.}

6:37-8:20 - Ian eats breakfast with Liam & Carl, and they discuss Mickey’s being off with the other dude, and it’s clear that Ian thinks Mickey is just lashing out and once it’s out of his system, he’ll just come back. Lip and his baby mama and her crazy Trumper aunt are in the scene as well. They all concur that in Lip’s words, “Ian left Mickey at the altar,” but Ian doesn’t see it that way. He honestly thinks they were gonna get married for the wrong reason. His contradiction and ambivalence is honestly the only thing that feels realistic about all of this mess. 

13:30-14:36 - Mickey continues needling Ian very broadly and obviously about how great this Byron kid is and how much sex they’ve been having, and even implies he’s a Koch, which is silly. Mickey goes so far as to claim he’s in love with this guy (they met last night) and says he’s moving in with him. It’s dumb-o. 

18:35-20:58 - Ian somehow just now discovers that 50% of all marriages end in divorce????? That’s been true for so long now, even someone the show is now painting as kind of an idiot (but not half as big of one as Mickey is) would know that stat. It’s just more EXPOSITION. Anyway, he’s hanging out with Liam in the kitchen, and Debbie comes in. Ian tells her that: “Mickey’s a punk, and he’s decided he’s gonna fuck other people if I don’t marry him.” She says Ian’s just scared, and he should marry Mickey to make him happy, even if it does end in divorce eventually. Ian’s all, “I’m not scared,” but not even Liam believes him. Ian invites Liam to go run an errand, and they steal Trumpy Aunt’s wallet on the way out.

28:06-28:54 - OMG, small Byron has that bright Disco Overlook Hotel area rug from Ikea that I really wanted to buy some years back adorning the floor of his tiny loft. Sad face. Anyway, Mickey barges in and throws his garbage bag of crap everywhere and says he won’t share the bed, Byron needs to sleep on the floor. Says some lines about when he wants his dinner served, and how they’ll only have sex when Mickey wants to, and obviously he’ll top cuz this dude’s “basically a chick,” which is a funny line, tbh. ALSO, this pretty much proves they haven’t even actually banged, since they haven’t even discussed preferences. Lol. So yeah, Mickey is using this kid for anything and everything he can, cuz he found a big ol’ sweetie pie pushover (that’s maybe a little bit afraid of him). 

33:50-34:36 - Ian makes Liam try on engagement man-rings, because: “Mickey has freakishly small hands.” They’re at the Alibi and combing through the jewelry a shady hawker is selling. Ian buys two rings on Trumpy Aunt’s credit card. 

42:53-44:52 - I really miss Ian & Lip scenes, tbh. I used to love their brotherly friendship. Some of the old magic feels back in this scene, idk. Ian tells Lip he’s gonna go propose to Mickey. Lip asks him why, and Ian says it’s cuz he loves him, but then after a pause says that Debbie told him to. Even though Ian wants Mickey back, he also clearly wants Lip to talk him out of marriage, which he kind of does (for now). Lip says he should do it one day, after he figures out why he doesn’t want to now. 

47:06-51:10 - A genuine FOUR MINUTE scene! Ian shows up at Byron’s place (where’d he get the address tho???) and Mickey’s been hanging out there for like a handful of hours maybe, but this lil dude just wants him GONE already. Lmao. He clearly knows who Ian is and practically runs into his arms in a grateful hug, saying, “Oh, thank god, PLEASE take him back!” Ian is like wtf, and waits as this guy calls Mickey “honey” and says he has a visitor. Mickey makes another big show implying impending sexy times, grabbing at a very not into it Byron as he retreats up the stairs. Mickey seriously greets Ian like, “What’s up, bro!” I meeeean... Anyway, Ian I guess decided in transit that he’s not gonna propose, he’s just gonna say these are “promise rings” and has some line about how: “Gallaghers and marriage don’t mix well, but a Gallagher keeps his promise.” Since... when??? Like... Frank??? And... what??? Lol... Mickey’s not buying that shit either. He makes a good point about Ian not even wearing his “promise ring” on his finger, but around his neck instead (someone caught a Sex & the City rerun where Carrie carries that rock on a necklace, cuz she’s def not sure about marrying Aidan), where no one can even see it. Ian says he’s not saying “never” to marriage, and Mickey counters that he’s actually saying that he doesn’t love Mickey enough right now. And then he says he’s got Barry anyway, and Ian has to correct the name, which is a nice touch, I’ll admit. And then comes Cam’s best bit of acting on this show in like Y-E-A-R-S. I always thought he did best when he was in depressed/manic mode, and that comes through here when Ian actually gets to the heart of his real fears about committing fully to Mickey, which are of course that he doesn’t trust himself and doesn’t think Mickey should be tied to him and all his crazy bullshit. He doesn’t understand how Mickey can know for sure that he loves him. All that internalized shit is stuff I can easily actually relate to, and this is really the first 100% truly honest moment we’ve had between IxM in all of season 10. I hope we get one or two more by the end. I don’t really completely buy Mickey’s reaction being, “When you get over the ‘I’m not worthy of being loved’ shit, gimme a call,” because he is the fucking KING of not thinking he’s worthy of being loved! That's always been a huge component of who he is, and how I always write him to be, personally (always struggling to think of himself as worthy of anything good, particularly love, among many many other internal struggles, obvs). He also knows exactly how low Ian can get on his down-swings, and since we know from s5 that Mickey likes taking care of Ian, I just don’t think he’d treat him this way. I’m not saying he would give in, but we would see some softness come through. A lighter touch. Anyway, Ian looks super sad as he walks away, but then he spots Barry’s Vespa in the alleyway and gets his own bit of petty revenge (on the wrong person) by pissing in his gas tank, cuz Shameless!

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

My most recent project, with it’s title still up in the air, is a sequel to a Halloween fic I wrote a while back, called “Silly Little Witchling,” which I’d left with an open ending.  I’ll be honest tho, I never planned a sequel, so when I started thinking about one a few months ago, I outlined it and just left it.  Aaaaand then, I came back to it a few days ago and boom, exploded into an actual story with a word count. lol. That’s life I guess?

I love writing the dramatic, terrifying scenes - it’s a Halloween suspense/thriller/horror mashup, I think, which is weird and an exercise of writing ability because I do NOT do well with horror - and listening to creepy music that gives me nightmares while I’m content creating at two in the morning.

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

Okay, this is actually unreasonably hard.  I’m proud of everything I write, and usually I’ll have one line every few fics that I’m just in love with.  But I’m struggling to find one rn lol.  So I’m going with this one from the last chapter of “Missing Me” because getting the description right took me forever 

“It had been a long time since they’d truly feared their little brother.  But then again… this wasn’t quite their little brother.  It was Arthur, sanitized of his humanity; shorn of all the warmth and the emotions that his family once brought out in him.  It was an Arthur made from the broken shell of a thrown-away conquest, filled with all the nastiest parts of him, all his sharp edges with over a millennia of fury and seething drive pushing him onwards.“

5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?

Alfred.  Kind of hands down.  Matthew sometimes, as well.

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

Okay, so one of the things I really love is the hidden relationships between the OCs in the Wrinkle in Crinoline verse.  Lots of the OCs are connected to each other in different stories, or play important roles.  Another thing - related to this - is how many times Arthur and the UK bros have casually met a cross-dressing Alfred, referencing it in their thoughts, and having absolutely no idea. I love it.

I also push hints about how Alfred knows things.  Like, if you’ve read a number of my more recent works, you can probably pinpoint that the most informed person at all times is Alfred.  And how he does that, well *grins*.  It’s a little obvious but it’s there lol

21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?)

Hmmm, for the series ones, probably the animated series one.  But a lot of my works come into being as I’m imagining them happening in a movie, so probably lean towards that one?

So! This is Samuel Ryder, our dearest pathfinder. 100% enemy of Alec, doesn’t have the biggest relationship with his mom, but he loves S.A.M, his twin, and his son (Also when someone says “Sam!” Both he and the AI bby respond, it can be very confusing).

He’s a bit of a grumpy butt, very tired, but he means well!!! Kinda blunt and serious a lot but he has a soft side and whoever gets to see that yet I have not decided! Jaal probably ngl, love that purple kitty alien!!! Or Gil cuz you can have a kid with him...Decisions decisions!!!

Samuel is reckless, tends to run headfirst into danger, and it is n o t good. He eventually gets it through his thick stubborn head though that he needs to stay alive because he has a child that needs him and so he cuts back on trying to be canon fodder and starts staying at the back lines, using his biotics. An ability which he, his twin and his son all have!!! Sam used to hate being biotic but he’s chill with it now, neutral. It can still get annoying and overwhelming and his biotics are so dang strong he gets horrible migraines but yeah he’s managing!

He also struggles with severe anxiety, chronic depression, PTSD and chronic pain, but honestly that’s to be expected at this point........ :>

AND! He did have a lovely partner, but they died about a year before the andromeda initiative which is what largely drove Samuel to it despite familial relations. Just desperate for a new start. Trying to outrun pain and the past isn’t always good ofc, but yknow...

This is his sibling! I do not have a name for them yet, kinda wanna go with Samantha Ryder tbh just to frustrate the whole team fjsgfbebf three Sams! What could go wrong!!!

But yeah this is Samuels sib, they’re very laid back and chill, very passionate, dye their hair crazy colours all the time, surprisingly not as crazy as their little brother in combat, and they adore their little nephew!!! I think they might romance Suvi or Vetra...

They were close with their mom, not so much their dad. They also grew up a lot faster than their brother, trying to bear the expectations Alec had for the twins to give Samuel (Or “Sammy” to them) a break. Since Samuel tended to suffer a lot with the pressure because of how strong his biotics are. Samantha (we’re going with it I have decided) is also a very strong biotics user, but not as strong as their bro. Still, a force to be reckoned with!!! Especially when they and Samuel work together

They’re kinda the person that dragged Samuel back, introducing the idea of the initiative to him. They honestly hadn’t expected him to agree to come to Andromeda, but were really delighted when he did. They also feel sort of guilty, because now their brother is feeling more pressure than ever, but it’s not their fault.

Samuel, Samantha and SAM also get up to sibling shenanigans like arguing or playing pranks and sometimes the three of them, plus kiddo plus LI’s, have movie nights! Ofc they also have movie nights where the whole crew is invited, but sometimes you just need some immediate family time yknow?

And last but not least; this is said beloved kiddo!!! I haven’t got a name for him yet, but he looks v much like his father, gives no shits about gender roles (something he largely learned from Samantha tho his dad is chill too).

He’s a giant ball of sunshine and “reads” kids picture books to SAM, everyone on board absolutely adores him, he only met his grandpa and grandma once and he was terrified of Alec, and he misses his other parent but wears their favourite pearl necklace all the time so that helps!!!

When his papa isn’t on the ship he gets babysat by Gil OR by Tann on the Nexus because Tann surprisingly loves the little human and is very sweet to him and is willing to do this one (1) thing for Samuel. Other than that it’s argue town for the two stubborn dudes!

And in that pic he looks maybe like 9-10 but I think during the game he’s actually closer to 4. And you might be wondering two things; A) Samuels age and B) why was kiddo woke up when it was supposed to just be essential workers, and I have answers!

A) Samuel and Samantha are older than your normal baby Ryder, I’d say 22 is actually when Samuel met his partner, they have kiddo when they’re 24, and then partner dies at 27 thanks to an illness (yay fear of illnesses thanks to trauma for Sammy!), and the Sam Fam are 28 when the initiative happens (making them both a lil older than some of the crew I imagine, like Liam perhaps, but not by a lot since it’s usually clear that normal canon Ryder is pretty much one of the youngest on the crew).

And B) Technically Son Boi shouldn’t be awake, but Samuel started freaking out so badly about this fact after being woken up that he refused to go on the initial first mission, and well Alec did need him (even begrudgingly), so he put in the order for “the kid” to be revived, and he’s awake by the time Samuel gets back from Habitat 7 and is revived in SAM Node (So many teary hugs from both!!!).

session 63 end

okayyy. neat-fucking-o. thats done and boy OH FUCKING BOY i have a lot to say. and this is going to get mildly serious. sorry. theres a lot to uncover this session which basically is just one huge overall plot point. the whole timeline shindig. the thing that has messed me up for a few hours ngl.

man.... this is gonna be a long one. im not even exaggerating. (still, a tldr at the end)

so, the main thing besides from the time shindig plot, which is both important and essential and precious: DAVESPRITE <3 

k cool. ill expand on that throughout this whole note, but would rather like to make a whole analogy first before i do so.

so, to start off from last session, dave went back in time to fix jade and john’s death.

but i guess, from what ive read, GC never realized what she did was bad. she basically screwed everyone over and dave had to go back to fix things, which yes, does sound bad. but honestly? i dont think she really realized how bad it was until davesprite had the talk with her. and now they are both friends i take it, shocking development. but thats between davesprite, rather than dave himself so there may be two different views on how he sees GC. anyways, it was pretty bad. i wont just forget that. i love her character but she killed off two characters (who thankfully are now alive), making dave a sprite and future rose to just not exist anymore. or... well.... she does, but she seemed to have fused with PRESENT rose. which i guess we’ll figure out how that works the next time we see her. which will probably be on derse. 

but, tbh, GC wanted to apologize and felt bad about the whole situation. so im giving her the benefit of the doubt here.

can i take a second to analyze davesprite? and a little bit about the concept of john/dave’s friendship (just a tad)? ie the two greatest things in the world? thanks.

i think the thing that hit me the hardest was how davesprite (im calling him that to distinguish which dave im talking about but keep in mind i should be calling them both dave. but this makes it easier to write up.) well, davesprite explained how he’d continue to reset the timeline until john and jade are alive. which basically means he would use himself as a sacrifice to allow their survival. which ALSO means he cares more for them than he does himself. he’d throw his life away for them. he knew there was a possibility of him ceasing to exist if they reset the timeline again. he literally said it in such a nonchalant way that it makes me wonder how much his friends really mean to him. which in retrospect, is a lot. now pls keep this in mind for the next part.

now, dave also has so much appreciation towards himself. but not in the cocky way, of course. rather in the way that shows self love?? kinda?? like he genuinely wanted to hang with davesprite, brainstorm his comic and vice versa bc they both think their alt version is that cool. i know it should sound kinda narcissistic, but listen. a lot of people dont often appreciate themselves for who they are. and what i really want to emphasize on that here, is that this comes back to the whole putting himself before others thing. because that specific line i mentioned before is a BIG FUCKING DEAL. since dave thinks so highly of himself as a cool guy, rad dude, arent we so awesome type kid that he LITERALLY didnt care for his life in that one hot second. he made sure he was a pawn used to help out his friends rather than an actual human being who should worry about his life as well. he didnt care if he survived or not in the process of making sure everything was going alright. which is such a fucking leap from this whole self-respecting thing. its as if that didnt matter anymore. and that takes a fucking beating. that shows how much dave truly loves his friends. do you know how fucking BIG THAT WHOLE DEAL IS?

take john for example. dave didnt give two shits who the person on the other line was. he found out GC was the troll who killed john and basically threatened her with every inch of his life to make her back away from him. he knew what it would cause and said “fuck you” in bright and bold. all because he didnt want to see his friend die again. which? fair enough. and if we look back at the last session, god that could mess someone up. especially someone as young as 13. rose even got the worst end of the stick bc she flat out ceased to exist. but then again, thats in the same boat as jade/john. bc they all technically died. yet davesprite didnt. he remembers it. davesprite isnt just going to forget. he’s going to have surviver’s guilt for a long time, because being dave’s guide will forever be a reminder that he’s the version in the doomed timeline. he’s the only one who knows what happened, and he wont become the “true dave” in a sense that he’s now just considered “davesprite” and nothing more, since he cant just be dave since his timeline ended up fucked. not to mention he technically said he was fine with it, bc since it meant the others survived, he wouldnt care what happened to his life. even tho he should and it still probably hurts him idk. and that kills me a little. actually, more than a little. this is personally the most gut wrenching scene in homestuck (but i may just be speculating too much). but that wont stop him from helping dave and giving him all the answer, and also protecting john with everything he has.

and, man, i feel as if he’s gonna be such a good guide for dave. he already gave him the loot, the rundown and is very open about questions dave already has because he knows how tough it probably is to have a shitty guide. considering he was stuck with calsprite for 4 months. so obviously he’s going to help as much as possible. since he probably had little to none and didnt learn as much as he should have through the course of sburb. but now, as a guide, he can easily access all the info he lost during the pathway of his timeline. and share it with dave so he doesn’t struggle and actually completes the game rather than end up in a doomed timeline like himself.

but yes. dave’s blatant adoration for john basically saved them both in a way. and it seems as if its a little mutual considering john told dave he’d always believe him no matter what in the end. how he reconsidered everything, remembered the note and realized how good their friendship is to just give it up like that. and then vice versa. dave couldnt continue on the game without him or jade, so he went back in time. and showed his pissed-off protective side in order to save john again. which warms my heart bc they both mean so much to each other. and both got each other super sentimental gifts and wrote each other such touching cards.

and thats a good way to end the session, i think.

so there we have it. ive never wanted to hug a character so bad than i do with davesprite. i just hope everyone at least acknowledges him in some way, and gives him some amount of respect for what he did for everybody. ive only met him for like 10 pages, but i think he’s the most emotional character so far. and i guess since he’s dave himself, and i feel for dave based on his situation with bro, its safe to say i would protect him with my life. which i dont want to be *that* person but hey, its true. its just that he’s been through so much bullshit, and davesprite is the only survivor of his timeline, always will be reminded of it whenever he sees dave/john/rose/jade playing the game, is now a fucking sprite who wont be able to live his own path but just be a guide and god, i feel for him. i really do.

i shouldnt have written such a long note about davesprite.. but his whole story as to how he became a thing really got to me, alright?

i should write a tldr, cool. here yall go; i actually love davesprite, he’s been through some shit and he deserves hells of respect. GC is forgiven and we’ll find out next time how both version of rose.. fused together?

4. Do you have writing habits or rituals?

Rituals? Not really, Habits? Yes. With basically all of my writing I do two docs (ye I use google docs don’t @ me I refuse to change XD) one called “[story title]” and one called “[story title] bs” (brain storming XD) where I just dump snippets/ ideas/ character details/ plot. 

Also I always use three fonts for each story because I need a Chapter/ Title font, a subtitle/ first line font, and then an actual text font which is always Times New Roman size 12. Depending on the story I might spend like 20 minutes looking for appropriate fonts (its about the vibbbeess) XD 

5. Books or authors that influenced your style the most.

Answer here! But in short: Rick Riordan and Vonnegut

29. Who do you write for?

Everyone. akdsjf;alsjdkf. For real tho, there’s so many books that have helped me through rough time either because I related to the characters or just because they were fun to read while I was having a shit time, and I just really, really want to be that for someone. 

Also if I didn’t write I think I would explode jas;dlfkj XDD it’s already v hard to deal with all the stories and characters that just bounce around in my brain, if I didn’t spit them out somehow I honestly think i would combust.

31. Hardest character to write.

Ok I love both this and the next question but--

Funnily enough Kevin Day actually. I wrote a fic about him quitting drinking a while back and it hit pretty damn close to home. It’s actually really heavily based on a poem-ish journal ramble-thing I wrote about myself XD. Very cathartic to read it now that I’m past it all tho, and I still love the ending. 

Also Monte and Ivory since they’re both like, 1000000x smarter than me XDD

32. Easiest character to write.

Just about all of them actually? I think I can count the number of characters I struggled with writing on one hand. 

33. Do you listen to music when you’re writing?

I listen to music while doing EVERYTHING. Last year my spotify round up told me I’d listened to over 3 months worth of music that year. 

34. Handwritten notes or typed notes?

Both! I use sticky notes like water but I also keep obsessively organized brainstorming docs XD

Two actually, both Van Gogh because I love him more than life--

Yes and no? I’m sure I do it unconsciously, and most of my characters are little bits of me with different names and hairstyles but usually they’re their own things. Idk how to explain it but they’re always so vivid and real to me that sometimes I ache because I’ll never be able to meet them face to face.

interesting that they focused on junhao for everybody. can understand he probably has the most different and struggle experience so probably more interesting for dramas sake lol im surprised they dont spend more time on shengen, considering his popularity.

aw.... i feel like we’ve been waiting so long to hear lin mo get complimented.... i feel like it’s been since qcyn namanana that we’ve been waiting for him to redeem himself and climb back up to the peak. ugh its been nearly a year and a half. im just so terrified of whats gonna happen next bc im way too skeptical at this point to expect this high to continue, esp with what happened after namanana last time......... but for now, im happy. relieved hes finally getting the recognition he deserves and im happy that hes happy. lol i was also half scared we were gonna get spirit of the knight-ed again with his pink hair (nightmare flashbacks to lin mo and changxi’s deletion from that perf) i dont think ill ever get over that :( i feel like as a lin mo stan, ive been trained to not keep my hopes up and to prepare for the worst bc hes the type of person who just always gets the short end of the stick, it feels like. 

aw the part when they go back to the waiting room and jin fan is waiting for them with an encouraging smile and the whole exchange of "帥的真的帥的" "哇~可以吧" "我沒想到" "那必須的" our leader did them proud :’) 

ugh the part where luo jie calls them and tells them he can’t come back........ heart breaking. i can see why lin ran and xikan would be really affected. lin ran has been luo jie’s go-to since he left and knowing how their usual friendship involves making fun of one another and jokingly complaining about each other, it hits hard when lin ran says he cried his eyes out. it hurts that they didnt get to share the stage again before he left. xikan may not have shared the stage with luo jie during ip, but hes known him since then and has been with him through both rounds here. it interesting bc i feel like the namanana perf was very light hearted on qcyn but i cant see that happening here, esp with their outfits?

lin ran’s voice fits so well with this song wow! i really like his lines! also lol i didnt know xikan would have abs but okay and tbh im always hesitant about dances with props bc it always is so easy to look messy..... like every slight difference in angle in the way you hold your arms is immediately magnified 

and like sxl’s fan is obviously broken and having performed fan dances myself i know that that’s like the most annoying thing to happen on stage, and can be really difficult to deal with, even tho it happens ALL THE TIME with those types of fans ugh :( 

i mean its super kind of them to leave luo jie’s space empty for him, but its kinda weird to have parts of the audio missing sadly :( and also chaowen’s voice did something weird in the middle there, like its sounds weirdly weak

I open the browser and see a heavy shot total.  Isles lead 44-20. And the thing has gone into overtime.  Leading three-two after leading three-one .. is fine.  So many such series end 4-2.  But.  If you let them back in after 3-1 up, especially in hockey ... it's a concern.  A hot risk.  

Varlamov is in net for Isles.  Thomas Greiss only logged one game this playoff.  Tho the 34 year-old is capable.  And could start forty a season, likely.  [Ed note: He's started 39, 38 and 49 with Isles in varying years; just 28 this year.  Varlamov is a 6M man to Greiss' 3M.  Varlamov started 39 this year and has 13 playoff starts to Greiss' one.]

i still don’t know how much of a Thing(tm) magfest is but as far as i can figure it it’s No Comic Con (like, thank god :| ) but still kind of a thing. anyways i learned of it cuz i saw there was gonna be a couple su panel thingies & i looked it up & we were less than an hour away and so it was like midnight but i ask my brother like hey wanna swing by this thing on this one friday. and he was like Sure. so i made it happen and he was 17 so we had to drag our dad to the bank to Notarize a form that he was allowed to be there accompanied by me. it was a big place and it also took us a while to find Registration or whatever and when we tried getting sandwiches later it cost like $7 each go figure. anyways but we were just there for the one Event & there was a room like filled with arcade games and a bunch of other consoles (also Retro though. like old computers n stuff) and they had Galaga, thank fucking god. we 2 playered that shit and wandered around and also 2 playered a game called toobin, which was funny. real gamers know. 

when we were in the (pretty long) Line to get into the Panel, i actually like. spotted a then-mutual who i (was pretty sure i) recognized from her occasional selfie lol and who i guess had travelled all the way from the west coast for the weekend. when we were actually Seated she happened to be a couple rows back and both of us on the end of the aisle and i asked my brother if he could read her nametag (to verify lol) and i bopped over to have the cringe and fail exchange of “hey do you have a Tumblr” and then i was like “haha i’m milo i’m ummmwine” and she got up to hug me and then i had to scamper back to my seat cuz shit was starting lol

like my life was not changed by this event but we had fun and. the Hilarious story is that it was also partially a Q&A and i had a Q and my brother encouraged me by again whispering “go go” as soon as the first syllable was spoken implying Line up For Questions.....i was in like, the last idk, haaalf dozen or so ppl who made it to the mic? and look i knew i was gonna be asking a niche question that like 3 other people of the hundreds in the room would care about but So What. deal with it gang, let’s have some Variety. but i was still nervous. and when i’m nervous, i a) Have A Script and b) get even chattier. and right after the person Right In Front Of Me got their answer, i guess it was noticed that it was getting down to the wire so they were like “haha okay lightning round :)” and i was like NO.......GOD..........lmfao like too late im sorry i Can’t make it lightning round. i was muy anxious.....just that, again, hundreds of people there, i have the floor, nobody’s gonna Like my quastion......and they didn’t know the answer (which i figured was v possible lol) so i was like oh no sklfjd hope this entire room doesn’t hate me. i mean of course i didn’t care if they did too much but, Nerves....also im valid, but were the like half dozen people who asked prior to me about shit that would CLEARLY be too spoilery to answer valid????? no lmfao. cmon. that’s what’s Really cringe

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 14: The Quarter Finals (Commentary & Guesses)

Hello fellow Masked Singer fans! It’s that time of the week aka Ana’s Masked Singer recap time, with your typing host Ana, because nobody else will do it for me haha. We are truly getting down to the wire with only 5 masked contestants left (well 4 after we are done here with this recap lol). So, again, we will be honoring the judges with some trophy emojis because they are getting there and I am kind of shook, but this time I am also gonna give the judge with the worst guess ever a poop emoji because it was a horrible guess. Yes, I am having too much fun with this, let me enjoy my moment. I think I am gonna call the segment “Panel Spotlight.” Ok, so having said that, let’s get started! (Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.. don’t say I didn’t warn you)

Alright, so let’s start with the elimination/mask coming in 5th place was:

Ok, so this one was also pretty upsetting, but at this point I knew this was going to happen even though I was hoping Rhino would go home instead. The only person I am like really routing for is Turtle at this point (I also really miss Astronaut so I am still sad over that elimination) so whatever I guess. However, I don’t think she should’ve gone home. Her performance of Back to Black by Amy Winehouse was really great, even though it wasn’t her best performance. Anyways, I did know who she was ever since the Super 9 and I was sure... 

Having said that, Kitty was revealed to be...

JACKIE EVANCHO

Alright so yay the Internet convinced me and I got it because of them, thank you Internet! I kinda love you... sometimes. Anyways, if you don’t know who Jackie is, she was on America’s Got Talent when she was 10 as an opera singer and became one of the most successful & youngest platinum musicians ever. Now, she’s almost 20 which is insane and 10 years later full circle moment with Nick Cannon. Anyways, she really killed it as the Kitty, singing not just opera but all types of genres and killing it. Wow, yup, her voice is insane, we are the same age and she is so freaking talented, I can't even. I am so excited to see what the future holds for her. Anyways, here are the new clues that made sense for it to be her:

After Performance clue this time was a “borrowed package.” Hers contained a Bow & Arrow= she is a talented archer as well as singer (this is news to me but I looked it up)

Now time for the PANEL SPOTLIGHT: 

Nobody got the 🏆 because the judges were so clueless.

However, the worst guess aka the 💩 was the guest judge, comedian Jeff Dye, who said “one of those Olsen twins.” I gave it to him because he couldn’t even distinguish which one & the Olsen twins don’t make sense with all of these clues. 

Alright, now we have our top 4 contestants, woo hoo! These are our semi-finalists, my guesses, and commentary, let’s do this: 

1. The Frog 

Performance: Yeah, I’m sorry, I just am not a big fan of Frog. He switched up last week and it was better than his normal stuff, but he just reverted to the same thing again and it’s getting annoying. This time, he performed Bust a Move by Young MC. 

Guess: Bow Wow 

Clue package, calling his “little frog” = he has a 9 year old daughter 

French Bread on the ground = he has a song named Long Bread

Falcon Figure= Atlanta Falcons (where he lives & he is a fan of them) 

Borrowed Package= Model Airplane= The Bow Wow Challenge from 2017 when he faked going on a private jet & was caught in a normal airplane and a challenge was born on the Internet about this

Now time for the PANEL SPOTLIGHT:

Yay! Robin Thicke caught on! He gets the 🏆 for guessing Bow Wow. 

On the other hand, the worst guess aka the 💩 was of course Mr. Ken Jeong, who guessed Derek Hough?! What?! His logic for that guess was way off and Derek Hough cannot rap like that (but it would be cool for Derek to be on the show tho) 

2. The Rhino 

Performance: Ok, so he sang “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” by the Righteous Bros and it was impressive. This is another one of his best performances. It was a very romantic version of this song and he played into the romance. Also, you could hear some rasp to his voice that shows some versatility, I really really enjoyed this one wow. I think I might have been underestimating Rhino’s performance ability. 

Guess: Barry Zito 

In the package, he said that he had struggles before meeting his wife= he was a bad boy in baseball & his wife straightened him out to be a man of faith.

Ok so this one is gonna be surprising because nobody said it but somebody was close. Surprisingly, Ken was close so I am going to give him the 🏆 for mentioning JAG when seeing the Navy hat clue, so let’s give him some kudos there.

Tbh, none of the guesses were absolute 💩 so we are going to skip this one for the Rhino. 

3. Night Angel 

Performance: Ok, so not a fan of the Night Angel either (she is way too inconsistent for my liking), but this was probably one of her best performances so far, if not her best performance. She sang “Last Dance” by Donna Summer and the song choice was perfect for her voice. I really liked this performance too, wow this episode is actually pretty good performance wise (except for Frog, but whatever) 

Guess: Kandi Burruss 

Lipstick = has a makeup line & final studio album of Xscape was called Traces of my Lipstick

"Say Baby I Love You”= hint to her writing for Destiny’s Child

4. Turtle 

Performance: Best for last, baby! The show allowed him to perform Fix You by Coldplay for last, because he is the best & nobody could tell me otherwise. Ok so now that I have professed my love for the Turtle, I just wanna say dude this was one of his best performances (I still think his best one was his first one when he sang “Kiss from a Rose”). The song gave me chills, it was so good. It was raw & emotional, you could really feel all the words he was singing. Best performance of the night 1000%!!
