Mid month dramaaaas, 2024 is giving quality content 🙌🏽

Lovely Runner, 2024 (kdrama) 8.5

FL is a fangirl who goes back in time to save her idol who ended his own life. (very shortly put lol)

I have thoughts!!! It's gonna be long because my expectations with this one were really high. Don't torch me please lol. If I have to be 100%, this drama wasn't what I expected at all. That being said, loser boy Byeon Woo Seok and cutie patootie Kim Hye Yoon were the real deal here. I came for the premise (okay, and because Byeon Wook Seok is fiiiiine) and stayed because of them.

Here's my deal with Lovely Runner. I didn’t read the webtoon or anything, so in my mind, I assumed they would explore what took Sun Jae to make such a decision in the first episode before Sol went back in time to try and fix everything. The drama starts pretty heavy with both main characters attempting in some way to take their own lives. So to go from that to absurd comedy was a bit extreme for me at first. I thought we would do a little mental health introspection here, a bit of commentary about being an idol and all. Then because the first episodes also focused a lot on Sun Jae's dream to be a professional swimmer and the doomed reality that it would not happen, I thought they would center around that as well. I guess I was picturing some sort of mix between 2521 and Twinkling Watermelon. Plus the whole aspect of Im Sol being disabled. But they didn’t really give any more thoughts to these aspects of the characters.

Moving on from my own expectations and a little disappointment that the drama headed in a different direction, I overall enjoyed watching most of it. To be honest, this is the type of drama you just have to go with it, no heavy thoughts included. It gives major classic rom-com kdrama vibes. The cast absolutely takes the cake, the adorable moments are overflowing, comedy hits and the OST is a 10/10.

I don’t mind time travel plot holes but there are still some thing that bugged me, though. One: The whole taxi guy story. I will admit I was extremely disappointed the moment he was introduced. It’s probably when I started lowering my rating. Why do writers (or webtoon authors) feel the need to just randomly pull out these guys? And this drama being so cute and funny... It didn’t need that at all. Specially, since he seemed really poorly written. Two: I might not get over the fact that these two characters both start in really dark places but it’s never really acknowledged in any meaningful way and instead the drama just does a 180° on that. If these subjects hadn’t been introduced then it would have been fine. But in comparison with what happens next, the rest of the drama felt a little superficial to me. Three: it ended up becoming really repetitive. Sol once again ignoring Sun Jae “for his own good”, Sun Jae going after Sol because he doesn’t really care, Sol ending up crying. All this mixed between cute and silly scenes.

Happy ending did make me the happiest, though 🥹

Will Love in Spring, 2024 (cdrama) 9

When they were kids and FL became disabled due to a car accident, ML’s words made her change her whole perspective. He goes on to become the town's mortician, and she becomes a successful saleswoman in the city. And you know the rest, sparks fly when they meet again.

Oof. Cdramas aren’t supposed to be this good, bro. Like… everything about it is just a chef kiss. Characters and their complexities, OST, cinematography, chemistry!! (It's crazy, for real) It presents the same problem as Meet Yourself, even with Li Xian back as the ML. But whereas Meet Yourself is a little lighter and deals with this problem in a respectful and thoughtful way, ML and FL here are filled with angst and tension. The drama itself is a lot heavier, which is not bad, but it's not always nice, and sometimes very frustrating. I saw comments saying that they found the characters to be rather toxic, and that is such a childish way of seeing their relationship. Not everything is red and green flags. This is not that type of drama. People throw the word toxic around everything nowadays. I’d say they were realistic. Both FL and ML make mistakes (because they both have issues) and the drama makes sure the audience knows they were wrong. Because, you know, humans fuck up and stuff. I liked that. But because I can't help but compare it to Meet Yourself, I gotta admit that even though I liked the pace, the OST, and the cinematography more here. MY remains superior, and therefore, I don't feel like I can give it a proper 10. I will say, though, last two episodes gave a bit ot a bittersweet ending even though it's supposed to be a happy one, and I didn't like that much.

Queen of Tears, 2024 (kdrama) 8.5/9

A lawyer from the countryside marries the top heiress of a leading conglomerate. They marry very much in love, but find themselves almost not communicating or holding much feelings for one another three years later.

I completely get why this got everyone hooked. Overall it’s a great story, and very well produced, but at the same time I gotta admit I was hoping for something a little more… exciting. Specially because it was written by the same screenwriter that did Crash Landing on You and The Legend of the Blue Sea and those two were a 10 for me. It might also be personal taste. Some people are into chaebol family dramas that focus on business with their villains cartoonishly evil. Me, personally, I get a bit bored and this is sort of what happened. Even though Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun got me hooked with their marriage story and the romance of it all, the rest was a bit 💤. Although both families living together was really cute and I loved those scenes. I’d say that’s where the magic of this drama was. The last episodes after her memory gets erased are a bit messy, but the ending still made me sob dramatically lol.

A Good Day to be a Dog, 2023 (kdrama) 7.5/8 (girl what are you doing still here?)

Because of a family curse if FL kisses someone she turns into a dog at midnight… which she does after accidentally kissing a fellow teacher. She can only break the curse if he kisses her again in dog form. The only problem is he’s scared of dogs and doesn’t seem to like her that much.

This is the first time I put on hold a drama and actually go back to finish it lol. I’m proud. This starts off very very cute. Cha Eun Woo but specially Park Gyu Young are really funny and both have great chemistry. The problem here for me is, once again, the past life storyline. I know this is based off a webtoon, but I swear that whole thing is what ruined it for me. I wasn’t into it at all and so the last 4/5 episodes I spent them skipping scenes. Howeveeer, if someone were to ask me if they should watch, I’d say yes. Because romance wins lol.

Yes. I like Obey Me. I sadly haven't played much of it in a while since I was going into my Twisted Wonderland gaming out funk and was lowkey saving money to get the Sims 4, but once I'm back I'll share my process!

I'll say it now, this is both amusing and a bad thing

The only one lowkey not even doing major things is Lucifer but that's cause he's keeping his brothers in check

And that hobby was dancing

So you decided to try and cover one of your boyfriend’s songs

Coming home from practice and laying his eyes on you attempting to dance to Turn Back Time was the cutest shit-

There you were, in your pyjamas

In the middle of the living room with everything pushed out of your way

Trying your best to follow along with his movements on your laptop screen

You pause and turn to face him

You didn’t hear him come through the door and now 1.) you were deeply embarrassed and 2.) you ruined your surprise for him

God, when I tell you this guy’s heart grew like the Grinch’s after all the Whos showed him the warmth of Christmas (idk if that’s even right I haven’t seen the movie in years-)

He rushed over to you and pulled you into a tight hug

“Let’s go rest. I’m tired after practice and I’d just love some hugs from you”

“DJ, I really want to learn this for you.. You can go rest and I’ll come join you later”

“I can teach you later. Having me teach you would be significantly better than trying to learn from a dance practice video..”

But his attempts to convince you to come cuddle you were futile, as you ‘just wanted to do it by yourself’

Eventually he just resorted to picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder to carry you to your shared bedroom

You tried to protest, but your protests were just as futile as his cuddle requests

He did take the responsibility to teach you the choreography after your little afternoon nap, even if you tried to refuse

Hendery:

Your anniversary was coming up and you thought you’d do some arts and crafts to make a handmade card for Kunhang

You were successful in your endeavour until he found his way into your craft room

Kind of like a sneaky snake

You didn’t realize he was there until he whispered a “whatcha doing?” into your ear

This basically caused you to jump the height of the empire state building

You tried your best to hide the card you were working on, hoping that he didn’t see too much of it

“I was making something for you- for our anniversary”

A grin found itself onto his face

“That’s so cute, y/n” he pulls you into a suffocating but loving hug, “but how about for right now, you come cuddle?”

“I’m busy..” your voice was muffled by his hoodie “I don’t want the decorations to dry wrong, Mr. Wong” (yes y/n, bust out those rhymes)

“Oh come on, I’ll love it no matter what the decorations look like”

The next few minutes were just filled of Hendery’s attempts to get you to be the big spoon because he ‘wanted to know what it felt like’

You finally gave in

Because not gonna lie, cuddles with Hendery are SSS tier

Not before trying to hide the card under a stack of books

You didn’t want him to lay his eyes on it again until your anniversary

Yangyang:

I feel like

With you, Yang² would be clingy 24/7

He just hits me as a lad that would love to show his love for you in any way possible

And because of this, there’s a lot of begging for cuddles

When he comes home to see you curled up in bed with a cold facecloth draped over your forehead

He’s immediately worried

“What’s going on? What’s wrong?”

You explain to him that you think you might have a little flu, but that’s all

And that maybe you being in a close proximity with him wouldn’t be great for him

Still, he attempts to climb in bed with you to hold you close

“Yangyang, I don’t want you to get sick. I don’t want to take care of you when you’re bowing to the porcelain gods”

“Oh come on, y/n. I need cuddles because it hurts me to see you like this... and you should cuddle me because cuddles are the best cure-”

You roll your eyes and sit up from the bed slowly before making your way to the living room, to at least prevent the guy from catching whatever you had

And as you’re heading down the hallway you get the “y/n, y/n, wait”

He grabs your hand and pulls you back towards the bedroom

You’re too weak to protest against this

You used up your energy and brainpower by trying to force Yangyang to leave you alone

It didn’t work, of course

So you gave in

Maybe you did need cuddles from him

You two spent the rest of the day spooning in bed and snoozing

Taking a break when you needed to bow down to the toilet, of course

He was right though, the cuddles did make you feel a bit better

My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (2/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

For now, nothing to complain about! We got Nya, we got MAYA AND RAY, we got GILES PANTON BACK A LEGO SHOW!!! 😍😍😍

Of course now I'm definitely curious about what the story is really about, like I'm guessing Wojira will wake up at some point so... Great Devourer all over again maybe? 😅 Idk, for now I just wanna enjoy Nya having her moment 🥳

GENERAL THOUGHTS

New alert for reader, during the Nexo Knights period I was and still am the hugest Clay fan. Now that his voice is in this season I might scream more than necessary... keep that in mind 😅

I love the humor in this, all random but still kinda clever 😂😂 Maybe I'm biased because I love Jay but still 🤷‍♀️

I really like the design of the marine world, very cool!! 🌊🌊🌊

I guess I'm not really seeing any big plot twist moment for now? Ninjago seasons have history of basing seasons on a "we need to prevent this event from happening but it will happen anyway", so I can see Wojira waking up no matter what 🤷‍♀️

I wonder if that will be shocking? Usually when this situation happen, someone makes a major sacrifice (Zane with the Overlord, sensei Garmaron with Chen, again sensei G with the Preeminent...). Maybe Maya? I DON'T WANT THAT 😭 But I am curious, everything is going nicely and I'm not sure what it will bring! 🤩 I'M EXCITED SO LET'S GO!!!

THE WRATH OF KALMAAR

So this is the name of Clay's new incarnation, neat! 👍

Okay really, for having a season lately the main character just can't help but be trapped by the villain: kinda Zane in the ICE Chapter, Jay in Prime Empire, Cole in Master of the Mountain... we can call it a tradition at this point 🤷‍♀️

Giant serpent, yadda yadda, I wonder if we're gonna address the Great Devourer at some point? Not mandatory, but the reference would be very cool 🤩

Clay's new incarnation is a prince I- *hyperventilates in awe*

Nya playing dumb lol, I don't know if that's personal experience as she used to get kidnapped a lot in the past or she just have too many idiots in her life 😂

Sander Sides Coffeeshop AU! Part 3 (or whatever-)

Do you guys believe me if I tell you this hell of an au actually has a storyline- no ? neither do I. Sorry for the short chapter, my adhd is acting up really bad and I cAN’T FOCUS- --------------------------------- 6:30am. Finally. He was back home. The night was indeed, very long. The bar got very busy with Roman’s performance, so busy that he even missed Janus’s constant chatter. He was annoying and malicious, but Logan could not ignore the fact that he was, indeed, really cultivated. Often quoting philosophers, with interesting subjects to discuss and surprisingly knew a lot about the different types of tea and botanics in general, along with an absolute metric ton for chemistry, which kinda intrigued the barista, being a science and biology major. The melon hat man, unfortunately called it a night after only a couple hours into their discussion after giving a quick glance at his phone and claiming that he “had to be home or the kids would be worried”. By that time, Roman had already left to get some beauty sleep, as he always said.

Logan let himself fall on the bed after putting his glasses on the table, slowly closing his eyes to finally join the dream world�� ….If his alarm didn’t decide otherwise.

A tired groan left his throat as he tried to ignore the noise, until a wet scratchy thing rubbed against his nose. Apparently Plato didn’t like his breakfast being delayed, and the little kisses were just a nice way of saying “feed me human or your soul will never see the light of day”.

-Okay okay you fluffy son of bitch…

He always got a bit more crude when he was tired, being the type to avoid cursing, just to appear sympathetic. After a few stretches, Logan stood up to fill up the cat’s bowl before changing into his “morning clothes”, throwing the others in the washing machine. He tried to wake himself up a bit more by washing his pale face in cold water. A few checks here in there to make sure everything was alright, and he was on his way for a brand new day in his dear cafe.

Two cups of coffee. Two freaking cups of coffee and he still felt incredibly tired. The place was not really busy right now, fortunately enough but the extremely feline yawn he let out still managed to steal a small chuckle from the client he was serving, noticing that he was on the verge of overflowing the tea cup. A few drops fell on the wooden table and were quickly wiped out by the barista. -Well well Auriga, looks like someone here didn’t get a full night of sleep.

Doctor Emile Picani was the name of this regular client. He was the very soft type, always complimenting everyone, generously tipping Logan and just overall being the beloved and friendly psychologist.

-Is it that obvious Doctor.. -I already told you ! E-m-i-l-e ! You’ve been serving me the same freaking order for four years ! I think that’s enough for a first name basis.

-Says the one who just called me “Auriga”.

-What can i do “bro” ? I find your name pretty. All that aside, you should really get some rest Logan, you’re giving me more casper than human vibes. And that’s a really big oof.

-Is this your cartoon lingo or are you trying to sound young and modern ?

-A bit of both ! How am i doing ?

-Horrible. This took a chuckle out of the two before Logan returned behind the bar after serving a few more clients to drink start on his third cup of coffee. The moment he brought the mug to his lips, the cafe’s bell chimed, revealing a soaked man from the rain, a bit shivering under his leather jacket that he couldn’t just close -what can you do ? Fashion is just more important than comfort-. He took off his wet sunglasses to dry them off before putting them back and walked to the counter without even caring about wiping his soaked, muddy boots on the carpet planned for that, which earned him a few dirty looks from the dear Mr.Auriga. Before even being able to greet him, the newcomer slammed a plastic reusable tall cup in front of him before saying in a tired, cranky voice.

-Can you fill this venti cup with espresso ?

-..I-I, I beg your pardon. -A venti cup. With espresso. Can you do that hun ?

That was twenty ounces of strong coffee. Logan suddenly got a concerned and kinda alarmed look on his face and shook his head. -I don’t really, quite know how to count that-

-Sis’...just fill the cup, I don't care about the price. Count it as three regular ones or charge me the supplement in shots.

-...Yikes. Who hurt you ? -Life.

This made him let a quiet giggle out before taking the cup and making his drink and silently pitying his heart rate. Upon closer inspection, the “venti cup” was from Starbucks. He could even see a name written on it with a thick glittery acrylic sharpie. “Remy”. Once the blood pressure heightener completed, the man in sunglasses took a large sip from the straw, exhaling loudly.

-You are, literally my life savior right now sweetie, you can’t even imagine.

-Rough night ?

-Yeah, i can say that. Plus my boss is a total bitch, like he really needs a chill pill.

Accompanying those words, Remy’s phone chimed and Logan could clearly see him rolling his eyes behind his sunglasses upon seeing the contact on the screen.

-Speaking of the devil. Yeah Remy there ?...Well i'm taking my morning coffee y’know i can’t get going without it….Duh ! i KNOW the Star’s is closed, i'm in a random cosy coffee shop….Honeeeey, pretty sure you see that rain, i ain’t going back. Move your bubble butt and come pick me up...Where am I ? Uuuh, bitch legit i don’t know, like, y’know my sense of direction is effed up...it’s a bit outside the city aaaand, hem, there’s a lot of blue, and the barista’s cute...Ah and yeah it’s called “Blue’s”, just saw it, like, right now...yeah, want me to grab ya something ?...aw don’t be cranky ya sound like an old man...sorry not sorry babe im just sayin’ the truth ! Anyway byeeee.

The “barista” raised a curious eyebrow before brushing it off as Remy hung up, sighing loudly.

-Jesus, this man doesn't know when to take a breather !

-Heard that.

-You’re not much of a talker are ya ? What’s your name cutie ? “The barista” sounds kinda lame.

-It’s on my badge.

-Ah yeah, Logan, sounds so basic but im in !

What a singular strange character. The whiplash he got from just having a ten seconds conversation with him was stronger than any coffee. He wondered what kind of mentally functioning human would accept the insolence and the nature of that individual. The boss was maybe really patient or Remy was just so good at his job they couldn't give him up. His questions were answered when a tall, well dressed man with a melon hat walked in, a few minutes later, for the most remarkable trait, a giant red scar on the right side of his face. Was that a burn ? It couldn’t be anything else. He knew this man.

-Well. Hello again Logan.

-Janny ? You know him ?

-Less than i’d like to. But yes.

They’re my proudest instance of “oops i made a squad of characters, and two of them just accidentally were so perfectly compatible and complementary oh no I guess they’re in love now.” And then they became my favourite. Cause I guess their potential was too much (jk its bc they hot)

First, as I technically designed him first (like ten minutes before the other), my man weiwei. if u ever saw my art its impossible that you havent seen him at least once. cause i’m legit always drawing him. cause im in love bro.

Demonstration : here are my computer scribbled weiweis of 2020 so far (with a few daris there n there they’re a package deal), that i could find, and they do not include all the paper sketches that i’m too lazy to take pics of. (i just been drawing him with so much hair these days that’s illegal, his brand is baldness)

But anyway, he’s CHEN Chia-Wei, he’s 21, he’s Taiwanese n I love him. Two very important facets of his character when you meet him: he doesn’t talk, and is absolutely, in every single dimension, built to make you fall head over heels for him.

He’s (in the “canon” storyline if i may call it that since it’s def not my most developed one but oh well) an art student, mostly paints but is also great at photography and videography (his vibe is busy hectic pieces with strong bold colours, lots of harsh edges, and very people focused).

Aside from that, he’s also super into fashion, and because he’s part of the rich boy squad (the “im broke so im giving half my characters wealth in compensation) he Can and Does exhibit some quite funky fits when he feels like it. (maybe a reason I draw him a lot, since my fave thing is pretty boys in weird ass clothes)(and then i also draw him in just casual shit cuz tittiful men in plain white tees you know. there’s just something about it.)

He digs music. (i make playlists for my OCs and i gotta say, his is the best one, i spent so many hours researching it, “arranging” it etc n its still a work in progress but dude. she got many moods my fave part is when it suddenly turns into so many cheesy ballads also she’s enormous cause im as wordy in playlists as I am in writing.) listens to a lot, n also he can play piano n guitar. cause you know. heartthrobs got to win your heart with a song (and if he’s alone he can even mumble some songs, who knows maybe even sing em softly, definitly a sight to stumble on accidentally). Big main artists that have his vibes are Hello Nico, No Party for Cao Dong, n Circa Waves’s “what’s it like over there” album.

He does a lot of sports. He ain’t fit through magic, rip to him. He’s got a serious routine, and it’s a time he likes to use alone, cause nothing like running at the break of dawn, alone with your thoughts, which you can just easily forget through the exhaustion of a workout session afterwards.

he also eats. A lot. Food is just good, bro. (the canon story is def happening some place europe aka his biggest struggle is how expensive food is here. outrageous.)

He secretly loves super cheesy movies. the dramatic romcoms??? the cute shows that are just so cute and worriless?? anything involving soulmates??? yeh dude. he watches it, he reads it, he listens to it, and he may cry about it, but no one will know. That’s the one true guilty pleasure. (and he definitly has a collection of romance dvds, books n manhuas in his old room back at the family home. where no one can see it. perks of studying abroad. no one can see ur hoarding of material that clashes your image. “yes i watch edgy experimental things haha yes i love those smart people movies of course wow the philosophy…” and then immediatly goes to watch the trashiest predictable but oh so sweet dramas all night)

While he doesn’t speak (as in with the mouth) he can communicate in a bunch of language, due to having moved around quite a bit. On top of his native mandarin and hokkien, he’s fluent in English, so he can use those to write, and is also fluent in TSL, and pretty good in HKSL (and from that, other close-in-syntax sign languages). So he doesn’t have trouble getting around, but then he is also overall quiet in public (with close friends and over text though, that’s another story, that’s where he gets chattier, and also where you may get more of his true personality). Also, he can speak with his sister. That’s pretty cool bro.

I was going to say he’s a very “hides his true colours under a shell” type of character but you know, for an egg character, that’s pretty ironic. We love poetic cinema.

He presents himself as a very laid back, chill detached dude, going with the flow and all that great stuff, and masterfully mixes just the right doses of mysterious, flirty and calm to just go around vibing. But ain’t that jUST THE MILLENIAL’S ILLNESS, those dANG KIDS, going around, gettin relationships but never intimacy 👏😢 (there’s more to it dont leave)

First of all, before you see the Drama, the Turmoil, the first thing you notice when you really do befriend him is that he’s c h i l d i s h, he gets sulky when things dont go following the plan, he gets whiny n jealous for not getting attention , he gets competitive over stupid challenges, and way too playful if you start teasing, and when he gets flustered too…you think you get cool stoic dude but actually you get a dude who’s reacting to things with way too much intensity, and boi i thought u were gon be mature what’s that why have you been pouting for three days over losing a bet come on- That’s mostly coming up when he interacts with his sister, but the closest you are to him to more of it you get to see.

He’s also an affectionate dude actually. Like physically. As in you’ll get spontaneous hugs. He’s come nap on your shoulder. That’s a perk of befriending him if you ask me.

Also he tries to look so cool, so tough haha. He’s actually a lil sensitiv boi. he gets fluffy, he gets flustered, he heart eyes. you turn around and he’s gazing at ya as if you were the whole universe. he gets a mini crisis for holding hands with his crush. ya know. he’s secretly a softie.

Then in the “what he doesn’t show” (my fave part), where you stock all the anxieties, all the trauma… Obviously there’s a lot of anxiety here (selective muteness being a symptom of it, he hides the other ones very well) mostly fear of inadequacy, of abandonement and of loneliness. mmmmmmmaybe that’s why he was v reticent to continue pursuing that one guy he was into when he realised he was just a tad too into him oh no is that some,, like?? some lovey-love?? cant have that im afraid of gettin heartbroken bro. Aint that sad for a someone who’s one true goal is just findin someone to love and to be with forever, the struggles of yearnin for a soulmate when there’s nothing you fear more than getting attached to a person and letting them see you and your flaws.., delicious.

Now tho (because its so alone speaking about a character on their own and i just wanna get to the part where i can speak bout em together and how they bring out bits of each others ya kno, the good kush….), Dari…

He’s pretty, i must say, and got the funniest hair to draw, and comes from the most opposite background to weiwei’s.

Darian Andriev PARVANOV, also 21, comes from the remote Bulgarian countryside, but i still love him (this makes it sound as if i wouldnt normally love someone from the bulgarian countryside. its not what i meant. by default ud remind me of my son so you’d start being liked if u came from the bulgarian countryside) Now for the first instance of “wow, the complementarity”. The first thing i thought making Dari was that he looked too cool, and that he obviously was a dumbass, and mostly that he was physically unable to shut up. (o fuck he’s me)

He’s ALSO an art student (cause they were initially created for the purpose of filling the gap of “i have ocs in every field except the one i sorta know that’s so stupid”), painting major (def vibes differently than weiwei though, he’s doing those soft pretty landscapes n flowers, everything real pretty and peaceful, we got some impressionism nerd in here folks).

He was/is a real country boy, farm family, he helped tend the fields, he worked in plantations for pocket money, he knows how to take care of cattle and chicken and goats and all the cool babies you can take care of, he can tell whether the soil is good or not, he can drive a tractor, and doesnt fear dirt.

but then also he’s kind of a neat freak, he hates getting paint on himself, so the duality of man, dirt ok but paint? disgostin. his spaces are real neat and spotless, he likes cleaning (its relaxing) and does it nearly too often.

his dumbassery comes from lack of common sense and impulsiveness, aside from that he’s actually what you’d call “mad smart”, dude had em good grades, he can memorise pages upon pages of the most trivial information, he has an accumulation of knowledge beyond limits, and is good at problem solving. so he can recite all the words of the F letter of the dictionnary, but would also put a curling iron in his mouth to see if it would curl his tongue. (side note, he does have a problem with heat n fire, most his “oopsie how i wound up hurting myself on acccident” story involve burning -that stove was just too tempting…)

while he doesnt feel very attached to his home country, he does feel strongly for his family. he’d do anything for his mum (and actually does everything to make her proud already, that’s his one main goal), and he’s ready to sacrifice a lot for her (as in, spend years working non-stop a really uncomfortable job so his mother wouldnt have to pay a cent of his expenses even though she said she could by doing some sacrifices herself,and then being ready to come back as soon as needed if anything happened, and potentially drop his career and dream n go back to the farm life to provide for mama)(also he still does hold onto some parts of his home country’s traditions, and does sometimes feel homesick but more in a ‘i left the most beautiful landscapes n the city feels cramped and claustrophobic and i dont know people and i dont feel in the right place cuz im a forreigner with a thicc accent who doesnt master the language of this place and straight up have different body language communicators due to cultural difference oh lord i wanna be home where a nod means no and a head shake is yes i keep misunderstanding everything”)

if you want background noise he’s the perfect pal to call over, he’s just so chatty, he got hours and hours of non stop speech ready for you. you can shut him up once you’re done listening with the offering of food. works everytime.

he’s definitly not shy. neither in terms of talking to people, nor when it comes to making decisions. he’s quite bold, and rarely hesitates to go towards something he wants. he’s direct in his approach to most everything.

he likes partying. mostly the socialising part, talkin to people is just fun ya feel. and being in the crowd, doing whatever, pressure free? ya can dance n enjoy yourself, and people wont notice? yeah that’s nice. but doesnt do it super often cause broke bitches aint got the party time n budget.

he likes arm. (just an excuse for me to drop this thing here cuz i like it)

While he’s an overall bubbly looking character, with a cheery loud personnality, he does carry some youth trauma that has him more reticent to engage in happiness, he comes from what you could call “not the wokest background” and he may have fallen victim of it : he’s kind of a flashy noticeable character, both physically and in his personnality, and doesnt exactly matches the expectations of dudes in the area he comes from (delicate, emotional and sweet guy? that doesnt exist bro). He went through it, and it has definitly had some impact on his confidence in many aspects. But he’s 100% the type of guy to put on the fake happy front because if feeling bad is sad, making the people you care about sad for you too is Unacceptable Right??? relying on friends?? what???

But then what are we supposed to be doing with such charming characters huh,,,

Make them fall in love obviously.

Their story obviously has to do with falling in love and workin a relationship cause if I dont write romance i literally die, but I make the center pivot of all of it communication, and barriers in communications. Most obvious being them coming from wildly different cultures, having different native languages, and also the ways you adapt to muteness (what i love most bout that part is even then they fucked up given the easiest quickest small body language things to communicate are head nods n then i managed to make one come from the one country that reverses those like iconic how do they even understand each other -through a lot of work and love bro) but also on more “introspective” points, how to say things that you are even afraid to think about, how to open up and share your burdens and trauma with someone, how to say words you’ve been convinced you weren’t allowed to, the inner turmoil of communication in short. And then also communication through art, and through alternative unusual ways. If i were snobbish i could call it something like “a thinkpieces on how humans overcome obstacles in communication, and adapt, all for the sake of pursuing love” but fact is its mostly boys being in love n learning how to speak, figuratively and also quite literally. And also its me having fun with making characters evolve from each other, be able to influence each other for the better, helping each other be more comfortable with themselves and express the true things of their personnality, and discover new aspects. I just wanna write intense and soulful love bro.

So in less concept and more facts, weiwei meets dari, dari being his puppy self just immediatly strikes a conversation and weiwei gets interested cause “oho nice pretty boy? very good. i want some of that”. they get closer because you cant fight off the Power of friendship (and also the power of “what your friend is bestie with my friend?? guess we hanging out”) and then friendship and interest turns into pining, held back by respective dread of what romance with the other would mean (as in “romance?? cant have that we cant feel” and “with him?? cant do that, convince yourself he’s just a friend immediatly what would the family think”) but eventually they do have to just crash into one another cause that’s just the gravitational pull bro, its physics bro. and from then on its all unlearning destructive behaviours, bettering oneself with the help of the other, and getting over trauma to finally live ur best life. and gettin fckin married bro they’re both cheeseballs theyll wanna wed

BUT MAKING EM FALL IN LOVE ONCE ISNT ENOUGH time to make 3894853 alternate universes about em.

Lets speak bout my fave of those for a hot second.

First of all, the one of the art that brought this ask, guess i could call it “Pretty Tribes” AU, bunch of tribes live and do their things, having nature and energy powers. Dari n Weiwei’s tribes are bros, the latter’s powers needing them to move around to get energy from different places, enabling them different abilities. So basically they get to hang at the other’s place while the regenerate energy from there, and in exchange they help them out with various tasks (dari’s tribe is a rly farmer oriented one, with plant magic, while weiwei’s got more poyvalent powers, and have very good healers notably, so it comes in handy). The two boys were born a few months apart in their respective tribes, so naturally, anything the two clans meet, they’re put together to play and all, and from that they became besties, and each time they meet, after the gaps of time separating the two groups, they feel more and more of a little something else~ story is themed round growing up, friendship between clans, their traditions and cultures, and pretty boys in pretty clothes in pretty landscapes interacting with nature.

The superpower AU, i fuckin love it bro. Its an old one, made for other characters, but i just love it so much that i had to inject my faves in it. Its got a grimy ugly setting, bad government, propaganda, and fights between super-people (heavily mediatised for entertainment and reinforcing the idea that “look at these evil villains thank god us the good government protects you from them”), with a side of bad ethics in science. In all that, those two have the role of “those two young enemy warrior and villain, they were so powerful and fought so hard”, public figures, legendary and admired by both sides, everyone followed their fights, til one day they presumably died in one of their showdowns. (haha sike they actually found themselves talking for 5 seconds and realised they lived in a society, n built a plan to run away). The main characters get to find they’re alive because one of em had history with super-warrior-golden-boy and go to seek their help to overthrow the Big Bads. (stealing them from their nice gay cottage hermit life smh so rude)

Mermaids. I like those. Sailor weiwei sees merman dari, they both save each other in different occasions, they grow fascinated with each other, they’re at sea, water romance. Amazing. AU made half cuz i just like water n fish. and shirtless sailors.

Indie band AU, where i was listening to songs that vibe so well with those two in general n then my brain was like “what if they’re the ones playing”. They’re (along with the rest of the art squad) a nice little alternative rock band, doing their thing, then one of their songs blows up, and they get quite the attention, to the dismay of dari who wrote that song in a moment of “oh no im so in love with my bandmate but i cant tell him what if i ruin everything we have going on ill just have to love from afar and deal with that” and now has way too many people interested in who he wrote it about and theorising from his every move when performing it (a mix of music, secret crushes and social media) (ft a picture of neither of them but its the least ugly art i found of this AU cuz its old and instruments are the bane of my existence)(also kelana is so pretty i gotta flaunt her around)

in kind of the same vibe, as in we’re in a music world overexposed to social media, i also integrated em to an AU i did for fun, “boyband AU” as its called aka idol based band system cuz you kno, i got a hobby, lets apply it. Band boy Dari and bodyguard Weiwei got a thing going on, but can’t really act on it in any way, because they’d just destroy the whole band if it ever came public. Featuring annoying bandmates, catchy pop songs and people making fanaccounts of that one hot Mr.Bodyguard cause dang he hot.

SPY AU, one of my fave brand. They spies, they get assigned on the same mission, they work real nice with each other. spies hot. fights. strategy. i just like the concept. Fashion. U kNOW i have an AU for fashion. Supermodel and his private stylist, trying to maintain the line of professionalism. And failing to do so. Lets make out in unpractical designer clothes.

Have an highschool AU for a bunch of characters, injected them as “spinoff”, start chatting online being art buddies, fall in love without meeting (ft. all the iconics of internet friendship like knowing tiny details of their personnalities but not the fact that they have a sister or “waIT ur a GUY i thought u were a girl wow wild good news for my gay ass”)

n those are my faves as far as i remember, i got a fuckton of small other ones that arent fleshed out enough, or some that are more of a guilty pleasure universe, and some that are more like “projects that i can expend on as soon as i run out of daydream material” (like u kno those hospital drama shows with super innacurate medicine n shit like idk scrubs or whatever, yeh i want some of that but im keeping it for later)

johnny seo has a reputation around him which isn’t the best

its probably because he’s friends with Jaehyun and is a fan of posting pictures on instagram with almost 1k likes now

he’s a fuck boy, so everyone thinks

you’re stuck with that opinion when you get caught in a lecture with him and you unknowingly sit on his row

he’s minding his own business and doesn’t even notice you, but when you catch a glimpse of his face

oh my god that’s johnny?

he’s actually more attractive in real life than instagram

the fact he acts like he's nothing around everyone makes you think he’s even more of a fuck boy

I mean, he seems like he’s so used to having girls stare at him that he doesn’t notice

really he was trying to help lucas out with his coursework so was concentrated on that

anyway, he notices you when the lecturer gets a bit boring and he starts people watching

he realises you must be from one of the other classes that are joining his one today cause he thinks he would have remembered your face

Johnny isn’t that shy, he can be, but he knows he has to make an effort with people so he ignores it

and after waiting the twenty minutes for the class to end he finally approaches you with a smile on his face and hand out for you to shake

which you just awkwardly look at like.. what?

you tell him you don’t and his suspicions are confirmed, and you both end up walking out of the class together making small talk

he’s actually so shy and awkward and you can tell

you live near to each other actually and you’re both done so you end up walking home together

and to your surprise he invites you to come into his for a while

for coffee, he says, but you think differently

somehow despite how awkward he is you still think of him in that fuck boy persona and convince yourself he’s gonna make a move on you

so you decline and just go home, exchanging your number instead when you feel bad for ditching him

apparently he didn’t want to be alone with jaehyun and his girlfriend, he tells you later

so you feel extra bad

and to make it up to him you say you’ll go to one of his games

since he’s never actually had someone outside his group of friends come to support him

again, he’s an oversharer and tells you literally anything that comes to his mind

and he texts you basically all the time so you’re his best friend now

that’s what Lucas says about it, though he thinks Johnny has a crush on you because he always smiles when he talks about you

and Johnny isn’t happy with that assumption

“we’ve only known each other for like two weeks, what is wrong with you?”

so you go to his home match a few weeks later

and gone is the majority of the fuck boy vibes you got from him, just until he walks out onto the pitch and is smirking left right and centre

he’s hot and he definitely knows it!

the boy is like a different person altogether on that pitch and it sucks, because you really liked the other side to him

he told you no one has come to watch him before but there’s a group of girls nearer to him chanting his surname

who are his fan club, Lucas tells you when he finds you in the stands and sits with you

the fan club that are loyal to johnny and make sure they come to every game in order to try and get his attention

Johnny has never been that interested though

Lucas says he barely even notices them in the corner

further emphasised when Johnny gives you a big smile and waves just before the game is about to start

he’s a good keeper actually, he’s the tallest one there so he literally stands out anyway

but he’s a lot better than the other keeper who can’t catch anything jaehyun puts towards him

anyway, Johnny comes and finds you and Lucas after the game happy that you’re getting along

and also really excited that you actually came

he’d be such a cutie when you tell him how good you thought he was and he’d have this blush all over his cheeks

he doesn't take compliments well especially when they’re from you

and Lucas is still convinced Johnny has a crush on you

which he doesn’t tell you, and instead tells their entire group of friends who needed some drama in their lives

so suddenly you’re being harassed, I mean spoken to, by all these guys who are interested in the first person Johnny has ever seemed to like

Lucas is bad but mark is worse, he literally texts you every day to ask if you’ve seen Johnny

but it’s Lucas that breaks it to you that Johnny likes you

to be fair to Johnny, he keeps it pretty secret around you. he treats you like he treats his friends and you would never have guessed anything

you and Johnny went to the library together the day before and that night Johnny wouldn’t shut up about you

and since jaehyun was doing the same thing about his girlfriend with Lucas, the boy snapped

he came and found you in the language building and he looked like he was ready to explode

“I can’t take it any more. all I hear is how much he loves you. just ask him out and stop this all”

“what do I mean? Johnny is basically in love with you and you wouldn’t have a clue!”

and you tap his shoulder, which surprises him, but the second he takes out his earbuds and asks if you’re okay

and he just sighs and looks down to the table

“I do, i’m sorry and I should have told you but I completely understand if you don’t want anything to come from it and I'll stop liking you and... I'm not making it better?”

and it’s the first time you’ve started to see Johnny as more than one of the bros

and when he does kiss you it’s the best thing ever

he’s so soft and cute and sweet, and every date gets you closer to him

until after the fourth date, which is watching a movie at his by the way

When I think of you and Yugyeom, all I can think of and see are two adorable dorks, which one happens to be tall and the other one is short. Also right off bat, I can see your and Yugyeom’s humor blending well together. With your jokes combined with Yugyeom’s literal long ass limbs flailing everywhere, the perfect recipe is created for a happy and healthy laughing environment. You will also laugh so hard sometimes, that you’ll be on the verge of peeing yourself and you’ll have to excuse yourself. When it comes to who fell for who, I feel like you would fall first for Yugyeom. It wouldn’t take long though for Yugyeom to see how much he was into you, and he would fall head over heels for you soon after. You’re also a very chill couple. Well, at least to the outside world you two are chill. You’re lovable and chill, and always cute. Then behind closed doors, you two are the cutest couple ever and you’re always loving on one another. Next up, we have this little cutie, and together we have two cuties who are hopelessly in love with each other. I’ll say it up front, Jaemin would give you the world. Jaemin would fall first, no issues with confirming that point, lol. And then after you and Jaemin would be an item for like three months, you would be telling your friend how much Jaemin does for you and luckily your friend would be like ‘YO, HE’S PERFECT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!’ And you’d be like ‘oh..holy heckles you’re right!’ Then you would just blossom from there (: You two would spend SOOOO much time together. Since Jaemin would have to work a lot, I can see you spending a lot of time in the studio with Jaemin while he works. And to be honest, I can even see you staying there with Jae in your spare time. Of course you know when to sit still, but with Jae around, you won't be sitting still for long. You would highkey overall love the atmosphere because you get to be surrounded by music almost all day long, and you do more than just hang out and look pretty. Jaemin would always want you to dance with him, whether it’s in the serious dancing form or being goofy in the practice room, your feet are gonna move. And I think it would be cute to add that sometimes you would get stolen from Jaemin. Every now and then, Renjun or Chenle would steal you to dance, and the only way that Jaemin could get you back is by a dance off. Sometimes Jae would win and sometimes he wouldn’t, and you would spend so much time dancing with Chenle, you two would become buddies. Okay, we’re gonna move on to a topic I’m cackling over. Okay. Jaemin-long boarding-in the dorm. Crack head Jaemin decides he wants to learn how to long board in the dorm, and as long as he’s safe, you’re down. So Jae can stay safe, you will literally steal every pillow and blanket you can find in the dorm and make a fort type of barrier to protect Jaemin, and you would even tape the pillows to Jae’s body. Thank god for helmets and pillows though, because Jaemin would most definitely fall and the helmet/pillow combo would save that poor boys skull. It was still fun though! Jaemin is more than happy to get on his hoverboard and let you pull him around, lol. You two are also little pranksters with one another. Your pranks would be innocent such as scaring each other, and you would only prank each other. Lastly, PDA wise, Jaemin would be so needy for you! He would love the snuggles and hugs from you, and he would whine often if he felt like he wasn’t getting enough love. I also think it would be cute if he gave you lots of forehead kisses. (:

Seventeen: Joshua

And last but not least, your angel man. Joshua is such a gentleman that you two would have the good, old fashion type of relationship. Such as, Joshua picking you up for dates, him getting you flowers, him giving you his jacket- ugh, I’m jealous for what you’re about to get, hehe. Holy smokes, imagine walking Charlee with Joshua! Picture this, you two are walking on the sidewalk, you have Joshua’s jacket on because it’s chilly, you have one hand intertwined with Joshua’s, and Joshua’s free hand is on Charlee’s leash. I love the imagine so much, we’re gonna further this image as to if you and Charlee traveled with Joshua while he would be working. The vibes and the sweet adventures you three would have together would be absolutely adorable! Carat’s would lose their shits in the best way possible, I know I would. Joshua Hong is the biggest gentleman ever and bro, you are so lucky to have him! Lastly, PDA. Very sweet and soft! Tender hand holding and knuckle kisses. Joshua would almost never let go of you if he would get you in his arms, and sometimes he would go as far as to walking with you WHILE STILL hugging you, and you can’t help but smile and give him an extra kiss..or two. Episode #4: “I am definitely sobbing 24/7” -Gavin

-okay so dan left eight to one a real... how you say... zzz. and then birch activates the earthquake and gives us... the best swap... ever...? i say us i mean ME so anyway the swap gives me... my alliance members of vi/collin/ruthie which YES. we already are half the tribe eat it UP. then i have cindi who im close to, who im also in a second game with rn. which BAM, and also... og tribe majority mmmmm delicious. THEN from the other tribe i get. BODHI who im also close to outside of this, and am also in another game with rn (where im about to vote to keep him in so woo we love building trust...?). then i have rachael who is a sweetheart and TIMMY. ONE OF MY OLDEST ORG FRIENDS HELLOOO. this swap is kind of... too... good? all the people i'd wanna vote out are on the other tribe so the MO rn is to just sweep challenges ideally? thats the agenda. because rn the ones i want gone are birch/keegan/zachary/gavin... all of whom are on the other tribe. so we better get to winning even tho it might be bad for austin/jay if we do (but maybe timmy would go first idek)

-okay so... we just won jeopardy? that challenge truly had me weighing up and considering literally fighting a child because that zach is half child prodigy, half robot he was literally bodying the challenges... BUT THEN WE WON ASFJDKSAL. we literally just went for broke on the final jeopardy and it came THROUGH. im so so happy because i want all of my swap tribe at merge, they are all people i want to stick around so even one tribal would be a disaster. i think timmy might unfortunately be screwed just because jay/austin are really connected. also the annie tribe is probably gonna lose... another og tribe member. but HONESTLY what can you do. this is good for my longterm survival anyway hopefully they turn inwards and get rid of one of OG Jack even though its probably unlikely KJFLSAD.

-well, to start out, i am sorry this is later than anticipated. however, what matters is that i am doing it now... right? ANYWAYS... onto the confessional. i think the main thing i want to talk about this round, is the brilliant move i orchestrated during that challenge that gave us the win... and the fact that i got NO CREDIT FOR IT. OKAY Y'ALL... I SEE YOU. but anyways, i think it is clear that i am basically a mastermind. however, what really matters is that we won... so GO TEAM (me)! following the challenge this round i was added into an alliance chat planned by keegan and zach with rachael and myself. so, when jess wasn't included, i obviously had to go talk to her and subtly expose that alliance... and funnily enough, keegan added jess to alliance with birch! FUNNY. so, we basically figured out that keegan is trying to play everyone and anyone he can--which will definitely be useful information going forward. overall this round, i think i really strengthened some key bonds with birch and rachael specifically. i was on call with rachael for 5 hours straight and talked about personal things with birch for about an hour. so, i honestly feel pretty good going forward. and on the bright-side, if things start to look like they're going south, i always have that idol in my back pocket. until next time... xoxo, gossip girl.

-well, to no ones surprise... we swapped. AND I WAS SEPARATED FROM MY RACHAEL. i’m not crying... (jk, i am definitely sobbing 24/7). but on the bright side, i at least have jess with me. unfortunately due to zachs poor math skills, we lost the challenge that should have been an easy win for us given our lead going into the final jeopardy... but gavin is not bitter. so, unfortunately, we have to go to tribal with a brand new tribe. on the bright side, it seems to be looking in OG jack’s favor numbers wise, so i don’t particularly feel like i am in danger. however, you never know what could happen at tribal council. so, if worse comes to worse, i will have my idol ready to play—but i am hoping it doesn’t come to that. it appears as though austin or jay will be leaving—which is perfectly fine with me (even if i want keegan to go sooner rather than later, it’s best not to make any unnecessary waves right now. so i will continue to let him become a bigger target and try to take charge and snake as he does... and we will go from there.

-So a swap happened so that's fun.... I can't even lie I have swap PTSD from my last Survivor. I was swapped into the minority, rocked myself out with an idol for a souvenir. THAT BEING SAID... This swap worked out for me! I think? At least for now? If I didn't have Gavin with me I'd be extremely worried but because I do believe he has an "in" with the bro's Keegan/Zach aka: a duo... I'll at least know if they are up to some shady shit. I also got Chips! SO PARTY. I'm really thankful we got a swap because I don't know if I would have survived a couple of votes on my previous tribe. I wasn't necessarily "in" with people. So a swap was welcomed but I was also scared shitless. This swap has really opened the door for me/Zach? I don't trust him the slightest BUT at least we have some sort of dialogue right now compared to the crickets we were exchanging on OG JACK. This swap also broke up the "alliance" of Zach, Rachael, Keegan...and Gavin. So now they'll need to find a replacement Rachael and I know I'm not as pretty as Rachael but maybe I'll fill the female quota in that alliance? Chips has opened up a LOT to me so far. We've exchanged idol searches but he feels on the bottom of that "alliance" and I don't blame him. I just don't know where we go from here after this vote. He flips? to Jay? Maybe a Jay/Chips/Keegan/Zach majority? He wants me to flip to a Chips/Jay/Timmy/Majority? I have no idea. We also get Birch next round! I do enjoy Birch so much but that's a number for Keegan and that makes me un-easy. Keegan is easily my biggest threat so far. Next round could potentially be a 6.vs. 2 majority and it can't be THAT simple. I'm going to focus on winning... I guess? I'm really enjoying Timmy so far even though he's given me a few red flags or I'm being lied to hardcore. Austin told me he had a vote reveal however, why would Timmy tell someone who he has said "treated him badly" about a power? So either Timmy is playing me or Austin is playing me. Either way they both can go?! Timmy gives me such weird vibes. I want to trust him but I also think he's going to be a super cut-throat player down the line and that SCARES ME.

Ok.....with the swap that happened and us losing immunity I really feel my game is over. Which really sucks bc i wanna work with ppl like keegan jess jay chips and zach but I dont feel most of those ppl wanna work with me. I'm not gonna give up tho . I'm gonna try talking and making deals and doing what I can to save myself. It's not over til tribal and I have plenty of time. Pleaseeeee atomic gods let me make it through this one vote

Me never remember what my last confessional was about? The title of my autobiography. So, we swapped which is super unfortunate but the tribe I got swapped into has a majority OG Jack members. JESS, ZACH, GAVIN, CHIPS and myself against JAY, TIMMY Z and AUSTIN. And then we lose the challenge because math is apparently impossible? Like ZACH either threw the challenge on purpose or he’s just the worst person at math. Either way, we’re going to tribal tonight. The current plan is to stay tribe strong and vote out an OG Annie which is fine by me. JAY is saying he wants to work with me because we’re both previous winners which is a good point. But I’ve got some solid alliances already and I don’t want to mess those up this early into the game. As far as I can tell right now, the plan is to split votes between JAY and AUSTIN with AUSTIN being the primary target since he’s pretty bad at challenges and isn’t likely to work with us down the line. TIMMY apparently spilled the beans about a six person alliance that didn’t include himself or CINDI, so we’re trying to keep him safe and pull him in as a number for the future. Who knows what will happen though. There’s idols to worry about which is why we’re trying to split the vote.

This tribe swap makes me so happy because I vibe with these people so much better and it gives me a new chance in this game to fix my activity level. On top of that, we are safe!!! Another round of not having to go to tribal is a good round for me. Who knows why the Annie tribe only wagered $3,000 because that made absolutely no sense but I’m not complaining. Overall, A+ round!

So this round, i find myself swapped into a tribe of people that are so much better then my old tribe. I was on the outs of that 6 person alliance and I am sure I would have been the next to go for sure. I get a really good vibe off of zach and jess, plus gavin and keegan are cool too. Not to sure about Chips but I have to put my trust in these people for the mean time. As for the challenge, we lost and i knew I was going to vote with the old Jack tribe. We plan on splitting the votes 3 vs 3 with austin and jay voting whoever. Of course in true them style, the moment they found out it was them, they threw me under the bus immediately. Hopefully everything goes as planned tonight and Austin goes home, if not it is going to be me. I have had good convos with people tho and hope that can get me through this tribe.

Well this swap completely sucks. In the complete minority, someone sold out the alliance to Timmy so I doubt he trusts me anymore. I just tried to be honest with him so he'd see me in a better light and I hope it worked. Beyond that, we lost the challenge and I think my head is on the chopping block. Earlier today Chips came and told me that he's pretty sure the votes are coming down on me and they're gonna tell me Austin to fake me out. And you know, that's probably true because Zach, Keegan, and Gavin have all told me it's Austin. What troubles me is that Chips doesn't seem to have a plan otherwise even though it seems like he wants to do something else. So once Zach told me it's Austin, I had more of a chat with him. He really seems to not want me to go anywhere, which is hard not to believe. Either he's telling me the truth or he's a fantastic liar. Same with Keegan, even though I think it's in both of our best interests to work together going forward. At this point it's clear that it's gonna split between Austin and myself so i worry if I don't vote Austin then I'm just automatically out. Shits really hard in the game right now and all I want is to survive another day.

I am finally not at the bottom. My original tribe has minority and I have prior existing relationships with 2/3 of the og Jack tribe. Plus I have bodhi, whom I absolutely love, on my tribe. I am happy.

Analysis:

RedRosette J: I think I was squealing the every time Jin Jin and Ji Won were on screen. Honestly they are super adorable. Next week is finale week and I’m excited to see how they wrap things up. There are still a lot of loose ends to be tied up: the sister, the scandal, Young Shim’s awkward boss, Ah Reum and Woo Sung, the cutie makeup girl and Ji Won’s assistant, Anthony (ugh)…

Jubiemon J: Finally, we had those cute moments between Jin Jin and Jiwon! I was feeling all giddy and excited when I saw their interactions. They’re just so cute. They’re totally giving me those first love vibes. Hehe. I’m a bit worried about how things will wrap up in a span of 4 episodes? I feel like that’s not enough time to give a satisfying ending for all of the characters. We’ve had the mother going blind . . . which will probably lead to the older sister reuniting with the mom. Redrosette mentioned some others so . . . there’s a lot to cover.

Being forced to go along with your sibling’s antics…

RedRosette J: In terms of Ah Reum, I think it was the right time for her to come to the realization that she liked Woo Sung. The incident with the taxi driver was what really made her sure of her feelings. But, the date was AWFUL. OMG the cringing was real! The second-hand embarrassment was so real! I think what made it bad was the fact that they weren’t being themselves with each other. They were trying to do the whole “perfect first date” persona….which doesn’t really work when you know each other so so well. I think that’s what makes Jin Jin and Ji Won great, is that even with the romantic element in their relationship, they are still very much themselves around each other, so its not awkward. Ah Reum, take some notes from Jin Jin’s playbook girl.

RedRosette J: Young Shim and her boss….wow this guy is so so awkward that it’s painful to watch. Like we said in our previous post, he really doesn’t know how to talk to women. I honestly don’t even know if he’s just awkward around her because she’s a woman or because he likes her. It’s so odd.

Jubiemon J: This lawyer really reminds me of the majority of the law school men/male lawyers I’ve met. I kept getting that feeling of . . . déjà vu whenever there’s a scene with him and Youngshim.

Issue 1: Whether Ji Won and Jin Jin are the cutest couple ever

RedRosette J: Okay these two are hands down my favourite couple of the year. They are so cute together and it’s not even in like grand ways. It’s in the smallest of things. Ji Won running upstairs to see Jin Jin the minute Jin Jin’s Mom leaves so that they can eat together, making fried rice together, being nervous about telling the friends….it’s all so normal. That’s the best part. There doesn’t have to be a spectacle when you’re in love and this drama really captures the essence of everyday life and loves. I’m also really happy that Ah Reum and Young Shim are openly aware and their reaction was absolutely hilarious. (*deadpans* “We already knew” *continues eating chicken*). Also super happy that Mom knows now. Her reaction was also totally awesome (to the brother: “Never go up there again”, to the Dad: “Honey, let’s go slaughter a chicken”). I’m dead. So funny.

Jubiemon J: Redrosette sums it up very well! They’re so adorable during the elevator scene where she’s trying to hold onto his hand and he’s getting all shy about it. I do love how Jiwon does try to be discrete in public because he still cares about Jin Jin’s career and how his actions would impact her. Of course it’s super obvious how much Jiwon is in love with her. The way he just looks at her is pure love. ❤

Issue 2: Whether Anthony got sick in the most pathetic way

RedRosette J: Here’s what I don’t really understand: It’s not like Anthony’s been in love with Jin Jin forever and would literally fall apart without her like Ji Won, so why is he getting sick when he finds out about them? This isn’t a daytime makjang drama. WTF? I don’t really get it. He doesn’t even know Jin Jin. This was so pointless. At least at the end of the episodes he resolved himself to never getting Jin Jin so there is that. Thank God. I don’t think I could have handled anymore noble idiocy on Ji Won’s part if Anthony was actually in the running.

Jubiemon J: I felt like Anthony was more so in love with the illusion of Jin Jin, so he shouldn’t have taken this rejection so terribly. I agree too that he would feel uncomfortable but not to the point where he’s suffering from a bad fever. I say that Anthony was more in love with the image of Jin Jin because Anthony and Jin Jin talked during their Subway meeting. Anthony admitted that he didn’t know that much about Jin Jin. Jin Jin only shows her complete self in front of Jiwon, whereas in front of Anthony, she was still cautious of her image.

RedRosette J Aside: Yea, ok fine, I was wrong about Anthony having had an affair with Ji Won’s fiancee. Turns out he just came to Hong Kong to console Ji Won when he was having a hard time…Ehhh…Whatever I still don’t like him.

Okay the theory was wrong…fine.

Issue 3: Whether Anthony should have told Jin Jin about the reporter’s story immediately after he found out

RedRosette J: Is it just me or does anyone else seriously feel like Anthony is in a totally different drama from the rest of the characters? He finds out about the photo of Jin Jin and Ji Won and instead of doing what a normal person would do, which is to tell the parties actually involved, he resorts to going to the journalist and kneeling in front of him begging him not to post the story. Okay. What?!??! This shit happens only in, again, daytime makjang dramas. WTF. Jin Jin had a right to know because it would impact her. What he should have done was tell her so that her CEO could get ahead of the disaster by announcing that she was in a relationship first so that they could control the damage. It’s PR 101. Honestly Anthony, how do you not know this considering he’s spent his whole life in the entertainment industry? Plus he’s practically a nobody so does he really think that the journalist is going to care that he knelt and begged? Dude get with reality. I think he made the situation worse tbh.

Jubiemon J: I’m always frustrated with how Anthony reacts to situations. He either lets the manager wipe his dirty work clean or he likes to pretend that he’s some white knight. In this case, Anthony chose to act like a white knight and thought that the best would be to beg in front of that reporter. Huh? Shouldn’t he have notified Jin Jin’s agency and Jin Jin? Ugh.

Finally having an honest conversation like…

Issue 4: Whether Jin Jin should be treating her mother like a maid

RedRosette J: I love Jin Jin’s character but what I’m not loving is the fact that she treats her mother like a maid. I’m sorry but I’m just not down with that. It says something when the only person who notices that something is off with the Mom is Ji Won. Jin Jin come on girl. Don’t be taking people for granted.

Jubiemon J: Jin Jin’s treatment of her mom isn’t the best, but I’ve seen that happen in many other households. That part is realistic. Sadly, a lot of people take their parents for granted. It’s funny how we often treat the people who are closest to us the worst in a sense? We think they’re all comfortable with our actions/words that they can accept everything, but that’s not true. Everyone still has boundaries and everyone still wants respect.

Issue 5: Does anyone actually stand to lose if the “scandal” breaks out?

RedRosette J: So Jubiemon and I were talking about this and the only person who actually stands to lose anything is Anthony if the scandal breaks out. Let’s be serious, Ji Won and Jin Jin have the cutest, most innocent love story ever. Jin Jin seriously doesn’t give a crap. And everyone relevant already knows anyway so what is the big deal? And the fact that she was on WGM and he is Anthony’s step-brother is hardly cause of dramatics. Honestly, it’s not like she was actually married to Anthony and its not like they were adulterous. Anthony is the only person who stands to lose anything if the scandal breaks. He really just needs to quit and start a new job. This is just pathetic.

Jubiemon J: I don’t think Jin Jin would suffer that much if the scandal were to break out. Arguably, Jiwon might look the worst here because he’s dating a celeb that’s representing their company? That part might look bad on him, but I think he doesn’t care so much about what other people think. He already rejected the president’s niece for Jin Jin, so . . . yeah. As for Jin Jin, she is already a super well-established star and is at an age where a lot of people would pressure her to marry (unfortunately). I think they’d welcome her romance! It’s not like Jiwon is some random guy she met at the bar . . . They’ve known each other for years . . .and she has loved him for so many years.
