back at it again with a massive combination plotting / starter call !!! very excited to throw characters into this fantasy medieval nightmare time we created. i just love this vibe so much and i can't wait to see how everyone interprets things and makes their own spin on things -- anyways before i keep rambling , quick housekeeping for my call + threads ; please like for plotting, and reply for starters. each character will be capped at FOUR THREADS, and THREE PER WRITER. i may adjust this depending on out of fandom requests and plotted starters. if you do not plot with me and just request, i'll dm you just for quick ideas. you gotta specify who you want starters from or i'm deadass ignoring you xoxo. ** please know that i am taking this opportunity to clear out a ton of threads throughout the week. so i'll be dropping things as time goes on and then when the event starts, i'll be dropping anything left over and starting fresh for post event! so this is is my starter/plotting call. obvs gonna be mostly dropping everything from pre event so trying to wrap up whatever plots need to be done now or at least hc them out in dms. anything post event will be transitioning from this event so most threads are just getting dropped.

1. Favorite Type?

A strong tie between Dragon-Types and Electric-Types! As a general rule I think all the Dragon-Types are near-perfect, but I love a lot of Electric-Types too!

2. First starter you ever had?

Totodile! My first game was Soulsilver. For the life of me I can’t remember what I named him, though. Britts, I think? The name of a donut shop at the beach I loved when I was a kid.

3. If you could choose to live in any town in any region, which would it be?

Somewhere in Galar… maybe Ballonlea? The whole ‘glowing forest’ thing is really cool!

I'm very fond of Soulsilver-era Johto, but I'd say Galar! That region was the first time I looked at the game I was playing and thought "Wow, I can really see how someone would want to, and could, be a Pokemon trainer." Framing it as similar to sports was a great move, and the characters were really fun!

8.Name a favorite Pokemon from each of the generations.

10. What future eeveelution type do you hope for?

I'd love to see how they'd pull off a Bug-Type eeveelution, tbh. Maybe based off a bee or something?

Ohh, this is hard... either Drayden or Kabu!

13. What do you think the next generation of game should be called?

I thought about this for several minutes and the only thing my brain came up with was 'Pokemon Storm' and 'Pokemon Surge', so do with that what you will!

16. Which game is your most favorite?

At the moment I'm gonna have to say Violet. The plot + characters are very strong in my opinion, I was very invested in the story and teared up at a few points. Also Meowscarada, Miraidon, and Tatsugiri's existence alone make it a fave.

17. Which game is your least favorite?

Moon. Never finished it and I'll probably sell it soon, so someone else can enjoy it. Legends: Arceus also quickly became stale to me, though I can see why some like it!

18. If you could create a new Pokemon type, what would it be?

Perhaps something based on sound?

I can't say anything about the early gens, unfortunately. For Gen IV, the dual regions in SS/HG was neat, Gen V had beautiful environments in the pixel style (Chargestone Cave was really neat) + Team Plasma's battle theme, Gen VI had Professor Sycamore, Gen VII had Team Skull who I adore, and Gen VIII had Champion Leon! As for the newest gen, befriending your box legendary as you go is really fun, lol.

Thomas and Friends Season 2 Retrospective: Now With More Near Murders! (Comission for Lachiev)

Hello all you silly little engines and welcome to pop culture buffet were we dig deep and hearty into some of my faviorite media and throw the stale stuff out. And today we’re going back to the Isle of Sodor for another round of Stupid Train Children for @lachievpoststhings as it’s time for Season 2 of Thomas and Friends

As a quick recap: A few months back I took a look at the first season of the children show Thomas and Friends on comission... and I quite enjoyed it. While it’s obviously meant for younger children and not 30 year old man children, the show had charm, immacuatley constructed trains, and some truly gorgeous visuals from time to time. It was also hilariously weird from a bunch of conducters deciding to make lunch out of fish fished from a train’s engine to calling the controller of the railway “The Fat Controller” to said Fat Controller (Sir Tottingham Hat) bricking up a train “for always and always” for mildly disobeying him. It was a wild ride so I gladly agreed to hop back on the train once Lacheiv had the money for round 2.

Well he finally did so i’m pushing the Venture Bros season 4b review back a bit (and likely not diong retrospectives monthly anymore anyways0, so we can get more antics.

Production wise there isn’t as much to go into as last time, as I covered the origins of Thomas and Friends, how a reverend’s tale for his sick child lead to a children’s book and then a tv deal with producer Britt Alcroftt that spawned a still ongoing franchise.

That said there’s still some intresting stuff: For starters this is the first series to have tales based on the good rev’s sons followup books, which were in part comissioned to have new books, instead of the original works. On top of that it also has two scrapped episodes and two that were later done next season: The first, Gordon Goes Foreign, which has Gordon determined to learn the name of the british railway, was scrapped for budget reasons, as it had Gordon journeying to the mainland and thus likely required a brand new set. Why it wasn’t done in later seasons like Percy’s Promise and Double Header, which we’ll undoubtly get to either later this year or early next year as i’m sure lachiev wants me to cover season 3, remains unknown to me and the wiki isn’t any help.

The other scrapped episode had more understandable reasons for being scrapped, making it half way before Britt Alcroft scrapped it and with parts of the ep rejiggered for “Break Van” which ended up being the intro for Donald and Douglas, the twin scottish engines instead due to her citing the plot as actionless and too confusing... which judging from the summary I read I can agree, as it involves a special coach, the two swapping numbers and thus while not a lot to me probbaly isn’t the best thing for 5 year olds. I mean i’m all for not undereistmating your audiences intelegence but this is a bit much.

Otherwise it’s mostly same as it ever was just with even more stupid trains to get our main cast into more hyjinks. So without further ado let’s dive into the episodes themselves so I can have a laugh at these silly train children.

Coal:

Thomas gets mad at Henry for maybe accidently covering him in coal dust, Percy ends up getting covered himself. I nearly fall asleep

While the picture here of thomas with murder in his heart is neat this is one of those episodes I honestly forgot till looking at the episode guide. It’s just kinda.. there and seems fairly weak for a season opener.

Cows:

Gordon is a prick...

Which I won’t be counting as it may reach the thousands. He thinks henry is weak for having part of his cars uncoupled by a cow, only for one to prove to be unshooable when it shows up on the track. This one’s more like it as it gives the series cows

And has Gordon being punished for his hubris. And while god punishing the stupid train children for their hubris is the show’s mo, it’s the most satisfying when Gordon gets it as he’s the most insufferable. If anyone is going to make a fuss about something not being proper or right and get punished by divine retribution via something silly, it’s Gordon, though thanks to some later additions this season, he’s not the ONLY consitent asshole in the railyard. Just the most prominent.

Bertie’s Chase

When Edward is an impatient cotton swab about Thomas being late, unaware he had a malfunction and Bertie had to take his passengers Bertie has to chase him up down and everywhere to get his passengers there. IT’s a neat story honestly, a rare full on spotlight for Bertie who may creepy me out a bit, as he looks like a car Leatherface would make for a london holliday, but is awful sweet.

Saved From Scrap/Thomas and Trevor

So in this one Edward retuns again, this time finding a traction engine named Trevor during a visit to the scrapyard. Trevor is the first new addition this season.. and also the creepiest. See as me and @jess-the-vampire who watched the first third of the season noticed Edward really, REALLY likes to talk about how his favoirite thing is to be with the children or just “the children” And look is this just bad phrasing? Probably. Is this the creepiest thing i’ve seen this week? Given i’ve seen a teenager eat ice cream off his pants with a manic grin, no. But is trevor inherently creepy looking and comes off like Thomas is going to have an adventure about finding a kidnapped child in the vicar’s basement with trevor wearing a creepy mask? yes. Also Trevor gets adopted by a Vicar. I just like typing the word Vicar. Vicar. Vicar. Vicar. Vicar. Vicarrrrrrr. It’s just fun to say.

Thomas later becomes friends with Trevor against the advice of everyone and helps contribute to his child kidnapping shed by letting him be around kids more. Not much to say about this second one or either of these other than i’d love to see Ethan Hawke voice a kidnapping train. Moving on

Old Iron

Pretty standard stuff: One train is a dick to another, god punishes the other train for his other hubris and the two bond. Standard day on sodor.

Percy and the Signals

This one is just 5 Minutes of Trains Being Dicks to each other.. which granted could and should be the title of the show, but still. Percy pranks, Gordon

And then Edward

Like Gordon geninely deserves it because he’s Gordo but Edward really did nothing. Also Edward gets punished.. despite his prank being told he got a message from the Fat Controller, aka his train dad, telling him to wait. Like.. Fat Controller.. dude.. Edward did nothing wrong. He thought he was listening to your orders. I mean it’s still far bellow sealing a train up to psychologically break him into obedience, so he’s grown as a person, but it’s also still what experts define as a “dick move”. The two get back at Percy for his hubris with a fake signal, which is pretty clever. All and all a highlight of the season as Percy suddenly being a prankish dick for no reason, the fat controllers weird hatred of edward and Gordon getting shamed all work to make this a fun one.

Duck Takes Charge

We meet new train Duck whose only real diffrence is his cool unique shape. He does make an impression though, not taking Gordon and the other big engines shit and having him and percy block them in. THe Fat Controller has none of it and tells them off for acting out.. and the bigger trains off for acting like they run the place, telling them if he had enough tunnels he’d brick in each and every one of their cabooses.... since I assume these trains do not have asses and i’m frankly scared to ask. I mean they have faces. So they could possibly eat. Either way i’m not sleeping tonight. Next!

Percy and Harold

We get our third new face, there are a LOT this season, with Harold, a hellicopter. And the effect for him is really cool as he’s clearly some sort of remote control hellicopter but not only looks real, but takes off impressively. How they pulled that off nor had him do so in time with the trains as this one focuses on Percy racing harold, I have no idea but it’s artistry like this that makes this series enjoyable. That and sentient vechiles being dicks. Harold claims it’s the end of trains with his existance and to make way for Homo Superior and such, so Percy and his fireman decide to prove him wrong with a race, which Percy wins. And honestly like Percy’s conductor, fireman and passengers I was rooting for him to kick this helicopters ass , and he did and it was wonderful. This was another highlight of the season and pure fun. I”ll also say I like harold’s design as he looks like the only vehcile character to not be wearing a freshly cooked face.

The Runaway

Thomas goes in for repairs but comes back with his brakes stiff and ends up running away due to a stupid coachman not knowing to compensate. It’s a fine enough episode with an intresting enough premise.

Percy Takes the Plunge

So this one’s sort of a sequel to the Mine episode from last time, as Percy figures he can ride on water

Ignoring Thomas’ warnings about a sign warning danger as Thomas learned about that the hard way. Naturally .. well God dosen’t even have to punish him for his hubris this time, dumbass goes over a bridge into the water and the Fat Controller simply leaves him there a while to teach him the lesson. It’s honestly the most vindictive the guy’s been since he bricked up poor Henry, but unlike that bit of psychological tourture, this bit of torture feels a TAD more warranted. I mean it’s still a lot.. but Percy was warned about this, knew what happened with Thomas, and knew this was risky, and has PEOPLE inside him. Even if he wasn’t hauling passengers his fireman and coachmen were still inside, meaning they could’ve died. So yeah, leave the stupid train child in the lake for a few hours, let him learn not to nearly kill people with his stupidity.

The Diesel Trilogy

The next three episodes center around a new addition to the yard, a Diesel train... and it’s clear the good reverened REALLY didn’t like Diesels as Diesel is a huge asshole, and the first outright antagonist the series has had. While Gordon can be one, because he’s gordon, and the other trains take turn instigating the conflict, it’s really just a musical chairs of jackassery, and their just as likely to be the hero or simply learn a lesson via a horrifying accident.

In contrast Diesel is from the start an antagonist, and the other trains and fat controller only like him because he uses his smooth seductive voice and sexy backing soundtrack to seduce them into beliving him. Though behind the curtain instead of being a hard worker he’s natural a prickupine who only wants to do what he does and belivies in Disel superiority. I nevfer thought we’d be dealing with Train racisim but that shows I just hadn’t been paying enough attention.

So Duck let’s Disel fall on his own train-sword by letting him pull some old trucks that don’t move as well and letting his own ego make a fool of himself.

So Big Daddy Cool naturally takes this as you’d expect.. and plots to get Duck banished by sweet talking the trucks into spreading lies about Duck saying shit abotu the big engines, knowing Grodon’s pride and ego will cause him to raise a fuss, as will the others. The Fat Controller is forced to send Duck away, and Duck spends the next ep in exile hauling cargo.

And this episode.. is a treat as it has one of the more bonkers moments in the series thus far

So the Trucks, being nature’s second most perfect assholes behind Gordon, push Duck and cause him to nearly have an accident, barely switching rails.. but crashing into a barbershop. Duck tries to apologize but the Barber’s repsonse.. is to lather him with shaving cream in anger. I mean sure that’s one way to take nearly dying by train in your stupidly close to the rails barbershop.

So Duck is lauded as a hero and barberman repents by washing his face off while Disel got sent away offscreen. AN EPIC CONCLUSION.. which honestly it kinda was. I mean how many trilogies end with barbershop train crashes? I mean would lord of the rings have been better if it included Frodo getting a shave and having a train come in while sam who was obviously shaving his partner lathers up the train? yes. Yes it would have. Case dismissed.

Donald and Douglas Duology

Fittingly our next two chapters are about a set of twins. Yes engines can have twins, I don’t know how and i’m comfortable not having nightmares imaginging how that works in this universe.

The Fat Controller needs extra help around the yard, so he brings in Donald and Douglas, two scottish engines, with accents that are about as Scottish as Flintheart Glomgold. It sounds like someone trying to remember how to do scottish while drunk on Absynthe. It’s hilariously pathetic

So the Fat Controller plans to “send one home” which is cold for fire them from his canon into the murky depths surrounding the isle of Sodor. They are loyal to each other though as when Donald is bullied by a break van, Douglas defends his brother.. BY VIOLENTLY ASSAULTING THE CAR. I mean...it’s more just shoving him but he has no arms so he can’t take a crowbar to him and the thing has no head to put on a curb and stomp good. He has to work with the tools whatever cruel god made these trains sentient gave him.

Eventually though both are in danger as Donald and or Douglas accidently gets injured and the other one ends up CCASUING A MASSIVE ACCIDENT THAT KILLS THE BREAK CAR. Yes really. Apparently only trains get to surivive hubris. I mean look at him up there. He fucking died! His face is just.. being carried up there. This is the first time one of these characters has out and out died. Like I knew they’d get into stupid accidents due to their own hubris, it’s the shows basic plot, but holy shit.

The two are naturally in danger of being sent home after the homicide but the next episode has the two proving to be heroes despite having killed a man.. er car... abomination?

Okay good then. They save Henry who apparently hasn’t been through enough and got trapped in a snow bank, and the trains, nervous about an announcment from the fat controller, call a Deputation to save them and force a nervous Percy to do it because

The Fat Controller is also a mild dick about it telling them “I AM THE OUTER GOD EMPEROR YOU’LL DO AS I’LL SAY OR GET SENT TO THE MINES!”.. but was going to save them anyway. A fun enough two parter, especially the second half with Percy’s nervousness being hilarous.

Thomas Comes to Breakfast

So you had enough of Trains crashing into buildings people stupidly put close to the end of traintracks?

Then good because it’s Thomas turn to nearly kill some people and this time he has no valid reason like poor duck. Thomas is told by his conducter , jokingly that he can “drive himself”... which brings up a weird thing about this series. See the trains can SOMETIMES move all alone without a conductor or at least enough, but sometimes they can’t move at all and now this one gives us a third flavor, they can move a little but can’t do everything.

And I do get it, i’m asking for consitent lore from a show about stupid train childrne. The lore is “whatever the story needs”. But at the same time in a show where the layout of sodor and areas are clearly well thought out, why isn’t how the trains move thought out?

Anyways Thomas gets it in his head he can move without a master, and pays for his.. hubris I guess? I mean.. dude should be able to move his own body. he shouldn’t NEED a driver to make sure he can move properly he should just be able to do it. The more they reveal about these trains the more I go...

I mean... i’d watch Jordan Peele’s Thomas, wouldn’t you?

Anyways Thomas crashes into the station masters house, which I get why it’s near the station, obviously it’s a short commute to work.. but once again WHY IS IT AT THE END OF TRAIN TRACKS. And this time it wasn’t just some adults milling about... there were CHILDREN in there. Thomas the Tank Engine nearly killed a whole family.

He gets punished of course but.. you may see now why I take these comissions. While the money is very nice and in this case helped me when I needed it most, this series is just.. keeps baffling me. It’ll be a pretty standard kids show one second and then have death, near murder and exile the next. This is one of the times I really love my job.

The Daisy Duology

This one focuses on another new Disel, Daisy, who is full of herself, refusing to pull milk and only doing the jobs she does though unusually for this series she’s not punished for her hubris with some horrible accident, but instead extra work after percy gets hurt doing her work and is chewed out by the fat controller> Though as a sign of the changing writers, Daisy , unlike Diesel, actually reforms, befriends the engines and thus sticks around. We don’t see her the rest of the season, but it is a nice change of pace. Overall an okay two parter, though it does underline an issue with the season: it intorduces WAY too many characters. While it was a mild problem last season, most of them stuck around. But at this point we have 11 trains in the yard, a tractor, a pedophile, a bus, and a helicopter, not to mention temproary character disel and two MORE characters next episode. I’m fine with huge piles of characters in a series: it was one of the charms of Ducktales 2017 and Bleach has slowly won me over on it having so many and introducing them so fast as I read through it, even though it is often pushing it itself. But you have to have PERSONALITY in your giant bag of characters to justify having so many or it just falls apart. The characters of Thomas are mostly interchangable over these two seasons, with only their histories and very slight diffrences. We don’t need even MORE added to the mix. It’s hard enough keeping track of the ones we DO have.

The Diseaseal

So we’re thankfully at our final intros for the season, Bill Ben and Boco.. and while I stand by my rant as while having very unique and neat purpopses (the scottish twins are accident trains while these two transport china clay), they have the same personality. Seriously their both mischevous sets of twins. But again depsite standin gby my rant.. they do look neat, with unique deisgns, nice bright orange unique colors , especially in a series that tends to rely heavily on red, blue or green for it’s engines, and a cool overhang design.

The two decide to play a trick on a Disel that stole their trucks with their firemans approval but get in trouble somehow for it. Not a bad one as the twin magic is fun to see and Boco is the first Diesel to not be an ass at all, with the whole mess being a misunderstanding (though again why the two are punished when their drivers also participated is a mystery best left to God Emperor Fat Controller)

Gordon Is a Dick Again Wrong Road

Gordon sucks suprising no one, and complains about how the side tracks the other engines take are “not proper” and has to do it himself> This episode sure did happen

Edward’s Exploit

This is one of the season highlights. Bertie is driving Tourists around sodor as is James, whose exausted. Gordon wants to kill him for being old. I’m not even joking, he half jokes about James being sent to scrap. Thankfully other trains get pissed at him and James gets his finest hour, as he has to pull his coaches in the rain, while tired, and barely going on. So Gordon for once keeps his big trap shut. All is well

The Ghost Train

Percy decides the best course of action after Thomas tells him he ain’t afraid of no ghosts.. is to prank thomas by pretending to be dead and haunting him.

All in all a REALLY fun episode I suspect was for Halloween, with a creative premise (Percy sees a g-g-g-host and thomas dosen’t belive him), some fun visuals and a geninely creepy atmosphere despite being about stupid train children pranks. Easily one of the best episodes of the season

Wooly Bear

Thomas makes jokes about Percy being a catterpillar due to collecting hay lately.. and somehow gets the victory when Percy ends up covered in hay?

Thomas and the Christmas Tree

We once again end on a high and once again i’ts a christmas episode as Thomas goes to get the christmas tree only to get caught in a blizzard. it’s a fun but tense story as it’s up to the scottish twins to save him and the other engines worry of him being sweet, as is the heartwearming ending with all the trains, car like vehicles and pedophile traction engines. it’s a solid ending.

Final Thoughts

Season 2 was a mixed bag. On the one hand the new set pieces, some of the new effects and some of the nonsense was great. The crashes into houses and barbershops, the murders, attempted murders and suggested murders, it was all lovely and there were truly some great episodes. It’s main weakeness is it really just felt like more of the same outside of the breif injection of antagonisim with diesle. New thing gets introduced, maybe their a dick, maybe someone’s a dick to them, rinse and repeat. It really did nothing new with the cast nor really made them stand out from each other except prized asshole gordon. It wasn’t a bad season and i’m not expecting deep, rich character arcs from an 80′s television sohw for young children.. but I expected a bit more of a step up from a shows second season. Time will tell if Season 3 improves on this or not. But that’s up to Lachiev whenm, and if , he wants to do it. So for now I say good bye to these noble stupid train chidlren and their fat god emperoror dad controller and had fun doing it. Robbe: Because Sander wants to meet you guys. And he gets off at 16:00 on Wednesday.

Jens: Wait really?

Robbe: Yeah. Do you have a problem with it?

Jens: What? No, of course not. I guess I just didn’t expect it to be so soon. Especially after everything that happened.

Robbe: I know, but I want him to meet you guys. Officially. As my boyfriend.

Aaron: Awww, Robbe has a boyfriend.

Robbe: I’ve said he’s my boyfriend multiple times.

Lucas: Yeah, he literally won’t shut up about it.

Robbe: I’m sorry. How many times do you talk about Jens?

Aaron: I know, but it’s still new and I’m allowed to be excited.

Moyo: That’s true. We’re excited. And Wednesday sounds good to me. Noor and I are going out tonight.

Lucas: He didn’t. He just says that he does. He’s gotta be all macho and protective.

Aaron: What for?

Robbe: For when we eventually add Sander to this chat. And Jens tells me not to flirt with my boyfriend. I have proof that I can flirt in the group chat.

Jens: Are we adding Sander to the group chat? We haven’t even met him officially yet. And we never added Thomas to it.

Robbe: I know, but I have a feeling about this one. Plus, I know you guys already like him anyways. Especially Aaron.

Aaron: That’s true.

Jens: In love Robbe is my favorite Robbe.

Moyo: Yeah.

Lucas: Agreed.

Dinsdag 19:25

It had been on Robbe’s mind for awhile—days, weeks even. It was time for something different.

At least for Tuesday.

Tonight, Sander was going over to Britt’s parents’ house. It had been an unexpected and last-minute invite from her parents and Sander was asked to come. Britt had messaged Robbe about it, asking if it was okay, and Robbe had said that it was. It still felt a little weird—as weird as his boyfriend pretending to be dating his ex-girlfriend could be—but that wasn’t why Robbe was upset. But, Robbe didn’t even know if ‘upset’ was the word he should be using… Disappointed? Maybe.

It wasn't about Sander going over to Britt’s. It was Sander going over to Britt’s tonight.

Changing up his streams had been on Robbe’s mind for a few weeks and yesterday afternoon, after playing numerous matches that were just like all the others, he finally decided that he wanted to do it. At least for one day. When Britt had asked—followed shortly by Sander’s call—he thought of pushing the change off until later but, at the same time, Robbe didn’t want to.

Since that Friday night, Robbe had been itching to play Pokémon Sword and Shield, the newest generation in the franchise. With their buzzed and love-drunk minds, they hadn’t really gotten very far into the game. Every once in a while, they would pause to kiss and it would end up a little more handsy than originally planned. Once they managed to pull themselves away, they would barely make any progress before they would tumble back against the bed, kissing each other.

So Robbe went out and bought a Nintendo Switch after his Monday night stream. Because Sander had a copy of Pokémon Shield—he remembered the opening title scene quite vividly—Robbe chose the opposite version before looking through to see what other games were compatible with the console. Once he got his new purchase home, he spent the majority of the evening setting it up with the help of YouTube videos. Zoë had brought him a plateful of spaghetti as he was knee-deep in cords.

Once he woke up on Tuesday morning, Robbe put the finishing touches to make sure that everything would run smoothly—or as smoothly as it could without going live. Even though Robbe had informed them that he was going to do something different, his nerves were still running high, bouncing in his chest. For years, Fortnite had been the only thing that Robbe streamed. So the bulk of his audience would expect Fortnite from him.

Before he started the stream, his phone vibrated loudly against the desk, pulling his gaze from the computer in front of him.

Sander: Have a good stream, baby. I’m hoping to catch the end. If not, I’ll watch it before bed.

A flood of warmth shot through Robbe and soothed all of the erratic nerves in his chest. Unconsciously adjusting his headphones, Robbe typed out a quick message.

Robbe: Have a good dinner. Text me when you get home.

Sander: I will <3

Once Robbe placed his phone to the side, glancing at Sander’s framed sketch, he started the stream. Even though he was still nervous, it was all for nothing. To his surprise, a majority of his regular audience were excited to see him play through Sword for the first time. On the other hand, there were still a handful of people who weren’t excited. Before they left the chat, they made passive aggressive comments about going to watch a Fortnite streamer, and the comments stung a little. Thankfully, the majority of his audience encouraged him and he started the game with little fuss.

On that Friday evening with Sander, they had chosen the water-type starter, Sobble. While Robbe thought that the anxious salamander (or chameleon?) was adorable, he ended up choosing the Scorbunny this time around, which he named Flint. The white bunny with a bandage on his nose had interested him. Plus, if he and Sander were going to continue with Sobble, he wanted to do something different with this one. Once he hit the first route of the game, Robbe caught a Rookidee, which he named Alloy. It was a small bird that looked angry but would eventually evolve into a Corviknight.

When Robbe finally reached the Wild Area, the vast area between cities—and, he learned, Pokémon’s first step into an open world—Robbe paused to consider getting the online services to connect with his viewers who had Pokémon. After a few minutes, he decided to wait until later in the game before he got the online services. Plus, he wanted to look into the other games on the Switch so he could do what they were temporarily dubbing “Nintendo Tuesday.”

As Robbe prepared to enter the Opening Ceremonies for the first time, his phone vibrated against the desk, drawing his attention. Rebel, Rebel played again as Sander’s text message popped up on the screen.

Sander: Baby, buzz me in.

Pulling down his headphones, he barely could make out the buzzer in the hallway. It was still going—which meant that no one else was home. “Umm,” Robbe said, placing his controller on the desk. His character was mid-conversation with a stadium worker and his chat was moving very quickly. “Sorry, I’m going to take my five-minute break now.”

Muting his microphone and placing his headphones on the desk, Robbe shot out of his bedroom door and hit the buzzer on the front door. It only took nearly a full minute for Sander to arrive at the front door, knocking lightly, and Robbe opened it impatiently to find him there on his doormat. Sander was dressed in a long-sleeve black button-up with a pair of skinny jeans. His cheeks were flushed, likely from the heat.

As soon as the door opened, Sander stepped into the apartment and kissed him hurriedly. His skin was hot to the touch—and a little sweaty–but Robbe didn’t mind, bringing him closer against him. Sander wrapped his arms around Robbe’s waist before pulling back. “Hi, baby.”

“Hey,” Robbe said, beaming.

“I’m sorry for interrupting your stream,” he said. “I just really wanted to see you.”

“Is everything okay?” Robbe asked.

“Yeah,” Sander said, squeezing his waist. “Everything is fine. While we were at dinner, her parents asked us if we were really dating because we never kissed in front of them. When her father tried to force us to kiss to prove that we weren’t faking it, Britt exploded. She got into a fight with her dad and I could only watch with her mom as they fought. In the end, she came out to her parents.”

Robbe felt his eyes grow wide, pulling back. “What?”

Sander nodded. “Yeah, I didn’t tell you before because she wasn’t ready yet. But when I took her to my apartment and was going to come over here, she let me know that I could tell you. She’s been in a relationship with her girlfriend for six months. Her parents were always a little overbearing and controlling in her life and tonight was the last straw. She packed a bag and she’s staying in Noor’s bedroom until she figures out what to do.”

“Wow,” Robbe said. “I’m so sorry.”

Sander shrugged with a sad look on his face. “It’s been a long time coming. Since she’s found out, she’s been a ticking time bomb with her parents. They always talked about her being with a good guy—even when she was with me, both real and fake—and she internalized all of it. Every time, she got a little closer until it was too much.”

Robbe nodded. He understood that feeling. In high school, he exploded at the Broerrrs. He had been going through so much—his mother in the hospital and his repressed feelings that he refused to acknowledge to even himself—until one day it was too much. Thankfully, he had Milan and Zoë to help him. The Broerrrs forgave his explosion and changed when they realized how much Robbe was hurt by their words. Avoiding Sander’s gaze, he mumbled, “I know what it’s like… to explode.”

Sander nodded, pressing a kiss to Robbe’s forehead. For a second, they simply rocked in the silence of the foyer. Soon, Sander ducked his head down to press a kiss against Robbe’s lips and he arched against Sander’s chest. Robbe stood on his toes, wrapping his arms around Sander’s neck, and kissed him back. Sander wrapped his arms tighter around Robbe, bringing him flush against his chest, as he dug his fingers into his hair.

Pulling back, Sander kissed his nose. “You better get back to your stream. I just really wanted to see you.”

“They can wait a little more,” Robbe said.

“Yeah, but you don’t want to keep them waiting forever,” Sander said grinning. Placing one more kiss on his lips, he moved back to the front door. As Sander reached to open the door and step outside, Robbe tugged him back against him and Sander looked at him confused. “What is it?”

“You don’t have to leave,” Robbe said. Sander stared down at him with half-lidded eyes and Robbe swallowed his nerves. “You can stay here and come on the stream with me—or hang out in my room if you feel more comfortable with that.” A small smile grew on Sander’s face. “Besides, I need your expertise about my stream and I’d love to have you with me.”

“Didn’t you say last week that I would be distracting?”

“Maybe,” Robbe said, tilting his head back. Sander stared at him with a sly smile on his face. “Maybe I also changed my mind about you being distracting. But you have to promise to be on your best behavior.”

“Okay,” Sander said, gripping his hips tightly. “I’d love to join. But I don’t know how much help I’m going to be with Fortnite and online matches. All I know is what you’ve told me or I’ve heard on your streams.”

Robbe smiled, pressing a kiss to his lips before moving to the kitchen. “I’ll be back soon. I still need to grab a glass of water or I’m not going to be able to make it the rest of the stream without another break.”

When Robbe returned to his bedroom, Sander had kicked off his shoes and unbuttoned his shirt, exposing the black shirt he had beneath it. His bag had been discarded at the foot of the bed. There was an emotional look on his face as he turned to Robbe who stepped into the doorway.

“You’re playing Pokémon?” Robbe nodded, relishing when Sander closed the distance and pressed another kiss to his lips. Even with a full glass of water in his hands, Robbe wasted no time in wrapping his free arm around his shoulders and kissing him back. When they separated, Sander grinned. “Lucky for you, Mr. IJzermans, I’m quite the Pokémon expert.”

Robbe smiled, stealing another fleeting kiss. “Lucky me.”

Tigers played very well at certain spots, others need some improvement.

Auburn’s 1-0 after a 29-13 victor against Kentucky, and while we wish we had a team with Cam Newton handing off to Bo Jackson and Cadillac Williams with Terry Beasley running the deep post and protection from Willie Anderson, Greg Robinson, Reese Dismukes, and Steve Wallace, that’s not the reality. Both sides of the ball looked much better than many thought, especially after the lack of practice and a comparison to other SEC squads that looked awful at times.

If the offense and defense both came alive in the second half, and Auburn pulled out a victory doubling the line over a ranked opponent, how did each piece look? Let’s grade it out!

QUARTERBACK - A-

I thought Bo played a fantastic game Saturday. He didn’t have a single WTF throw where he air mails the ball 10 yards over Seth’s head. Instead, outside of throw aways, he gave his wide receivers a shot on every pass. He also threw some perfect darts and I think he’s greatly improved in the short game. Last season, he had a tendency to be erratic throwing those quick screens resulting in wideouts having to use half a second to adjust to the pass and then attempt to get to full speed. Saturday he did a great job giving them a chance to get going immediately.

But...

The standard is extremely high for Bo and if Auburn is going to be a contender in the SEC this fall they need the best from Bo each week. While I understand that it’s probably hard to trust this offensive line, he has to do better staying in the pocket and waiting for the full passing concept to develop. He missed some opportunities because he didn’t like his first read and started drifting out of the pocket. It might mean taking a sack or two but if he can more consistently navigate the pocket to buy a little more time to give these talented wide receivers the time to get open, he could have a special season.

Chad’s also giving him checkdowns with backs out of the backfield. Take em Bo. A 3 yard dump off is better than a throw away. I saw a much better version of Bo Nix this Saturday. Now it’s about building on that success and continuing to improve. He has a chance this weekend to shut up a lot of haters. Let’s get it done

RUNNING BACKS - C (pending larger sample size)

I don’t quite know if we saw enough of the tailbacks to make sense of the race for who’s actually number one. Shaun Shivers was named the starter, and he was the leading rusher out of the backs with 29 yards on just 6 carries. He had one particularly solid run, shedding tacklers, showing the speed, and getting out of trouble, but there’s not enough of a sample size. It feels like much of Chad Morris’ impact on the offense came in the passing game, and the backs were a little left out. Some of that had to do with Kentucky holding a large time of possession advantage, but the tailbacks had just 20 total carries for 65 yards. Not great. The line is responsible for a lot of that misery, but Auburn needs to establish a rotation and let the most talented guys play. D.J. Williams didn’t seem to hit the hole he needed a couple times, and he wasn’t aware that he needed to plow ahead on 4th and 1 instead of dancing. It’s unfortunate, but that slip near the goal line will also cost him in this assessment.

WIDE RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS - A

Sure, the passing game didn’t rack up over six bills like Mississippi State did. But these receivers looked as polished as I’ve ever seen them at Auburn. Seth Williams obviously had the huge day with six catches for 112 yards and two scores, but even his non-touchdown catches were big plays. Not only that, but on multiple occasions he looked like the meanest guy on the field blocking for Anthony Schwartz or Shaun Shivers. Eli Stove looked like his pre-injury self, with five touches for 62 yards and a score. While his touchdown was certainly an All-SEC throw from Bo, that over the shoulder catch was no joke. Schwartz showed again he’s the fastest man in football, blowing by any “angles” defensive backs tried to take on him.

As for the tight ends, after all the offseason talk, they weren’t really featured in the passing game this week. That doesn’t mean they weren’t used in the offense, though. Most notably, Pegues was the motion man on the Schwartz screen that nearly went for a touchdown, allowing the big man to get a head of steam to block downfield. A few plays later Pegues and Luke Deal combined to set the edge for DJ Williams on the touchdown. John Samuel Shenker tacked on a catch for the two point conversion seconds later, although that was the only action the tight ends got in the receiving game.

While the volume wasn’t there to get everyone touches, the receivers had a dynamite game when called upon. Keep playing like this and we might just have ourselves a passing game.

OFFENSIVE LINE - B-

This offensive performance up front needs to be viewed through a different lens than how we should be grading this group for the next 9 games. I cannot imagine being in a huddle in a live SEC game with 4 other linemen around me who weren’t the same 4 linemen all or most of fall camp. COVID-19 forced this coaching staff to get creative with rotations during fall camp, and we saw a lot of it Saturday as a result. Which frankly I like, because you’re trying to use the Kentucky game to find your guys and not have to do this the next week in Athens. That being said, Left Tackle is a spot for concern at the moment as Alec Jackson looked like Saturday was his first start with multiple false starts and being a half step slow in his pass protection at times. Austin Troxell didn’t fare much better to my naked eye, but perhaps the coaches will see something on film that tells a different story. Bottom line is that whatever 5 guys are our starters, which I think Council, Brahms, and Hamm are all but guaranteed to be just that, they desperately need reps together.

The reason for the B-, which would be a C on any other week, is due to only 1 sack surrendered out of this group. Also there were times on the ground, especially late, where the hole was there and the back just missed it, or fell down in the case of DJ Williams. They did their job of protecting Bo Nix, which is what we needed to win this game. The challenge is going to be when their job is to help move the line of scrimmage on the ground...like this weekend.

DEFENSIVE LINE - B-

Overall I thought Auburn’s defensive line did a fine job down the stretch of wearing out Kentucky’s OL. But the standard along the defensive line is excellence and it won’t change just because of NFL departures. Rodney Garner wouldn’t adjust it for them so we’re not going to adjust it here.

DeQuan Newkirk was a revelation on Saturday. He said he is finally healthy and it has showed. Look for him to be serviceable in filling the literal giant void left by Derrick Brown. Colby Wooden early on looked lost, and in the second half you could see the game started slowing down a bit for him. He’s going to be special. You don’t often have a guy who could’ve been an end out of HS be able to put on his level of weight and still be so athletic. We’re going to need him to grow up fast, but he’s got a huge level of potential for this group. Truesdell is never going to get the stats, but his work in plugging gaps on the inside is critical and overall I thought we did a good enough job to win the game in plugging the A/B gaps.

What it still appears this line is missing is a legitimate Carl Lawson/Jeff Holland pass rush out of the Buck position. Maybe that’s because of a bogus targeting call on Derrick Hall. But the fact is we didn’t see it on Saturday and that has been the achilles heel of this defense since 2018. We need to find a body that can rush the passer and find him right now. On the other side, having Big Kat go down with an injury earlier in the week was disappointing, and I think affected the group a bit early on, as it put a different cast into positions they may have not expected to be in on Monday or Tuesday of last week.

One thing I love about Rodney Garner (and there are many, many things I love about Rodney Garner) is that on the second series for Kentucky you saw an entirely new defensive line. Rodney is going to baptize every one of these boys into fire so they can grow up and become men before our eyes. It’s the reason why Kentucky couldn’t get near the push in the 2nd half. Us having fresh legs up front through 4 quarters of football is key to winning close games, and we’re going to have our share of those this year. There’s an abundance of room for improvement, but life after Derrick and Marlon must go on, and we have the right mix of talent and coaching to have this group exceed expectations moving forward.

LINEBACKERS - B

It’s a little more difficult to make plays when you don’t have Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson occupying 3-4 blockers on every play. That said, K.J. Britt and Owen Pappoe both made their impacts felt early and often yesterday. After Kentucky’s script ran out, and Auburn could adjust, Britt, Pappoe, and Zakoby McClain ended up totaling 27 tackles, 2.5 TFLS, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Pappoe’s sack and fumble recovery were both huge plays that iced the game late when Auburn had built a comfortable lead.

Early on, Britt read Kentucky’s plan perfectly multiple times, and made form tackles, but the Cats still gained the necessary half yard to convert on a couple of third and short situations. It seems like the linebackers had to learn that they’re the stars of the defense now and they need to play a little differently than roaming around and waiting for something to filter to them like they could last year with the defensive line helping in front. After a bit of a slow start and allowing Kentucky’s run game to flourish in the first half, they locked down and were one of the main reasons that the Cats couldn’t do much at all after halftime. Slow start, great finish, excited for more.

DEFENSIVE BACKS - A-

If I could break this down into corners and safeties, I’d definitely be giving the corners an A+. They were the most outstanding unit in the game this week for me, holding Terry Wilson to just 6.5 yards per attempt. Roger McCreary specifically had himself a game, with an interception that should have gone the distance for a score, and a forced fumble in the second half. He wasn’t alone, though, with Christian Tutt and Jaylin Simpson looking outstanding in pass defense. Nehemiah Pritchett, the next man up, got burned a few times, but I’m willing to let that slide as the fourth corner.

In the back, the trio of Jamien Sherwood, Smoke Monday, and Jordyn Peters had a solid but not perfect game. One of the only big pass plays came when Smoke got beat by his receiver, and Peters (who was playing over the top) just whiffed on a tackle to limit the gain. They did play well in the run game, however, with 15 total tackles between the three of them (10 of them belonging to Smoke).

Overall, it was a really strong showing for the junior class of defensive backs, especially with most of them earning their first starts. We’ll see how they look against more polished passing games, but luckily they will have time to gear up for that. The next three games are against Georgia, Arkansas, and South Carolina, which should give them plenty of time before facing some more polished air attacks later in the year.

SPECIAL TEAMS - B

If Saturday was a tribute to Coach Dye, then Auburn had to be sound in the kicking game. Let’s see... Field Goals: N/A Extra Points: 3/3 and a swinging gate 2 point conversion! Punting: 5 punts. 3 downed inside the 20 with only 1 return for 6 yards. What? Yeah I counted Bo’s punts even though the entire offense was on the field. Coach Dye would have loved it. Kickoffs: 5 kickoffs. 2 touchbacks and a 24 yard average on the other three (which beats a touchback) Kickoff Returns: 2 returns for a 32 yard average. Both came from the goal line or inside the endzone, which means they improved on a potential touchback. Punt Returns: N/A, but Christian Tutt let one get past him, which ended up going 75 yards. On the plus side, Kentucky attempted a fake punt that lost yardage, so that’s certainly a plus.

If we’re doing +/- on grades, this is certainly into B+/A- territory. As it is I have to ding Tutt for misplaying that punt, which came out of UK’s own end zone. That said, give Max Duffy some credit. He did win the Ray Guy last year. All totaled, a very good day from the special teams unit.

COACHING - A-

If you’ve ever been on twitter during an Auburn game, you’ve seen the moaning and groaning that occurs whenever the PAT team lines up in the swinging gate. But folks, Auburn got a good look, pulled the trigger, and reaped the rewards. Ultimately the extra point didn’t matter in Auburn’s 16 point victory, but extra pressure was applied to Kentucky when they managed to score another touchdown and attempted their own two-point conversion. Additionally, Auburn’s 9 other SEC opponents will now spend an extra 20 minutes a week practicing this formation Auburn won’t use again until 2024. So yeah, excellent coaching decision.

Even outside that decision, though, the coaching was solid. Auburn made defensive adjustments after the first drive and offensive adjustments throughout the game. We should give Gus credit for letting Chad Morris run the show, as promised.

I was disappointed on the first drive when Auburn faced 3rd and 2, rushed, then punted on 4th and 1. I also would have liked Gus to have been a bit more upset after the faux-targeting call just before halftime. Take a 15 yard penalty there if you’re going to kneel it anyway.

A win is a win is a win. Coaches are remembered for their win/loss record over all else, so great job on the W, coach.

FANS - A

Attendance is going to be a problem, but those who made it in the stadium made their presence known. Or maybe it was just piped in noise? I don’t really care. I was worried it was going to sound like A-Day and it didn’t, so that was enough for me. It also seemed like people were wearing masks which makes this an easy grade to give.

Hi “ayellowcurtain”. I get your points and in that respect and according to my own feelings as well, I do believe that season 3 of WTFock could have deserved twice as much of time than what we got. Indeed, exploring more on how both boys coped emotionally after the bashing (the conversation with Milan was a good starter but could have been further explored); going deeper into Robbe's emotional struggles (was it really a suicide attempt?); but also e.g. going deeper into Sander's emotions after Robbe pushed him out of the door acusing him from abuse and also calling him a f*gg*t... and so much more (like how did Noor actually figure out that Robbe is gay - at that moment he was still “in the closet” and Britt could not have known either at that point?).

Apparently season 3 of WTFock is far darker than the other SKAM versions? E.g the gay bashing is a new thing introduced by WTFock? Unfortunately it is a reality; even in liberal countries like Belgium it does occur. And even more of a reality is the fact that a lot of victims do not go to the police and that the attackers are therefore not caught. Maybe not nice for the story, but if you want SKAM/WTFock to be a miror of potential reality... well then here you have it. I do agree that WTFock should have released a second post that night showing that the two boys were (at least physically) not hurt in a life-threatening way.

Concerning the alledged suicide attempt... not sure if it really was one. He ran off in grief and suddenly found himself at the borders of the river. It does not mean that he actually wanted to heard himself. I understand that the banner following the scene might be confusing... however over the years it has become a “normal” thing to do on Belgian television: as soon as a scene has been broadcasted or even e.g. a talk show that hints toiwards or discusses suicide or suicide attempts, this type of banner is always shown at the end of the program. Maybe confusing for non-Belgians, but common to see for us Belgians. And I truely think this is a good thing. But I can understand that it might have triggered more to non-Belgians...

Not only is it available in the original raw unglazed state, it now comes with a beautiful glaze that makes it as useful for serving as for baking. Their kitchen gadgets are always popular, from teak wooden spoons to measure-all cups to mini serving spatulas. Then, for the die-hard bakers, there are the unique tools you can’t find anywhere else, such as the mini tart shaper, pizza and crust cutter, and cut-n-seal tart maker.

3. How much does it cost to join Pampered Chef? To join, you’ll need to fill out a consultant agreement and buy a starter kit. For that, you have three options: the basic starter kit ($109), the deluxe kit ($159), or the ultimate kit ($249). A little pricey (but Pampered Chef kinda is). So they offer a unique discount. Host your own first party and you’ll get a $25 or $50 kit credit toward your kit.

4. Is Pampered Chef a scam? No, Pampered Chef is a well-known and well-liked source for baking supplies. In fact, in 2002, it was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway, a very well-respected company. Will you get rich doing it? Probably not. At the very least, you’ll enjoy a side gig that gives you free products.

7. What is Pampered Chef’s revenue? It was $500 million in 2012. When the current CEO took control, she immediately started making cuts because sales had been down. Now, according to Berkshire Hathaway’s financial report, earnings are starting to rise, based on revenue increases and expense management. In other words, they’re still having to cut spending to stay profitable.

8. How many Pampered Chef distributors are there? 65,000

9. What lawsuits have been filed? In 2017, Truth in Advertising found unsubstantiated income claims that promote the company’s business opportunity. [1] In 1998, Pampered Chef sued Magic Kitchen for copying the layout, price format, product number format, and general appearance of their catalogs and sales materials, which violated Pampered Chef’s copyrights on those materials. They lost because they couldn’t prove the catalog was confusingly similar to their own. [2] There have been the usual suits from customers who were injured while using their products, like a woman who cut her finger when a ceramic baking pan broke. She was awarded $2.6 million. [3, 4, 5] There have also been the lawsuits filed by Pampered Chef over sharing trade secrets after a distributor leaves. [6, 7]

They’re an established company, but as far as an income opportunity goes, you’re a couple decades late to the party and the chances of you making sustainable income with Pampered Chef is slim.

Overview

Pampered Chef was founded in 1980 by Doris Christopher. Their founding story starts like that of countless other MLMs…in Doris Christopher’s basement.

By the 1990s they had more than outgrown her basement and were now expanding to Canada, the UK, and Germany. In 2002, they were acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, who still owns the company.

Berkshire Hathaway is a multi-national conglomerate owned by Warren Buffett, based in Omaha, Nebraska.

They own…well…just about everything. They wholly own GEICO, Dairy Queen, Fruit of the Loom, Helzberg Diamonds, FlightSafety International, BNSF Railway, and a number of other companies. They also own almost half of Kraft Heinz, a portion of Mars, Incorporated, American Express, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, and IBM. [8]

They are the fourth largest public company in the world according to Forbes. [9]

In other words, Pampered Chef is in good hands. But you can forget about coming close to that dough they’re raking in — it’s for investors, not consultants. It’s not even for full-time employees.

Tracy Britt Cool was brought in by Warren Buffett to run Pampered Chef as their CEO in early 2015. Pampered Chef had seen declining revenue in 2014, so it was pretty clear she was brought in to try and get things back in shape. Her first order of business? Fire people. Pampered Chef saw the biggest decline in employment of any of Berkshire Hathaway’s companies in 2015. [10]

Of course, you’re not going to get fired as a consultant. You don’t cost the company money, because you probably don’t make any…

How much does Pampered Chef cost?

In order to join Pampered Chef, you need to buy a Consultant Kit.

The Ultimate Kit costs $249 and includes $1,000 worth of product.

The Deluxe Kit costs $159 and includes $650 worth of product.

The Starter Kit costs $109 and includes $450 worth of product.

If you start by hosting a party, you get a $25 or $50 kit credit that you can use toward becoming a consultant, meaning you can join for as little as $59.

Products

The Pampered Chef sells kitchenware products, and they’ve got pretty much anything you could want to stock your kitchen with. The products are high quality and some are pretty affordable.

Bakeware, cutlery, cookbooks, appliances, grilling accessories, dishes, holiday sets, kitchen storage…you name it, they’ve got it. They even sell food products (see: Optavia).

The idea when the company was founded was to create powerful products and combine them with useful tips to help others achieve a faster, no-fuss cooking experience.

Nowadays their products mostly look like the same kitchenware you’d find at any other store, for about the same price, if not a little more expensive. But there’s nothing overly unique or interesting about them.

Compensation Plan

Commission rates vary depending on your monthly sales.

$1-$749 in monthly sales gets you a 20% commission rate

$750-$1,249 in monthly sales gets you a 22% commission rate

$1,250-$2,499 in monthly sales gets you a 23% commission rate

$2,500-$3,999 in monthly sales gets you a 24% commission rate

$4,000+ in monthly sales gets you a 25% commission rate

As you might guess, most consultants make that 20% commission rate, which is below average.

However, once you hit $15,000 in career sales, your commission rate goes up by 2%. And once you start to build a decently-sized team, your commission rate bounces up to 31%, which isn’t bad.

Of course, if you’re going to make any decent money, it’s going to be from building up a big team.

The company also offers some pretty sweet product discounts to their consultants, including 50% off new items for a limited time. If you can’t turn a profit with them, at least you can get some discounted kitchenware.

Recap

I like the products and the idea behind the company.

But it’s a party-based MLM (like these home jewelry MLMs), and those are inherently flawed.

While going to an in-home party with food is better than going to one with empty Tupperware, it’s still the case that listening to your friend give the same sales pitch for the third time over isn’t the best way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

And holding these parties isn’t a productive way to make money, either. Even if you manage to get people to come, you have to sell A LOT of product to even turn a profit.

You’re basically paying money to sell your company’s products when you throw MLM parties – you probably want to offer food (especially at a kitchen utensil party), drinks, product demonstrations, and all of that costs money. Most people spend $200 minimum on their parties, so you’d have to sell $1,000 worth of $10 spatulas just to make your money back.

However, it could be a fun side gig if you’re really into their products or like the idea of doing cooking demonstrations as a hobby. The company itself is honest about earning potential, stating on their website that 75% of their consultants hold other jobs.

This isn’t full-time income by any means, but hey, who am I to stop you from getting a 50% discount on a new blender?

Look, I’ve been involved with network marketing for almost ten years so I know what to look for when you consider a new opportunity.

Pampered Chef had a good run, but I wouldn’t recommend them as a sustainable income opportunity.
