Y'all know how in the THG, Katniss was nicknamed the Mockingjay when she became a symbol for the rebellion?
Hypothetically (👀), if I was writing a loscar HG AU fic where Oscar (+ Mark) are mentors to Logan, a tribute from the poorer parts of District 4 who ends up winning and later becoming a figurehead for a rebellion, what would his nickname be?
Should I make it so it's water-themed instead of it being just "Mockingjay" since Logan (+ Oscar) are from district 4? What would a good duo name be for loscar since they'll end up spearheading the rebellion together?

I've by now become so wary of trans people and enbies on social media, especially Jewish ones. I'm like "this person is GOING to be on their Harry Potter bullshit and trigger the hell out of my OCD" and my hackles go up automatically. Then my OCD goes "haha you hate them because they're Jewish and/or trans, you're an antisemitic transphobe so they're clearly right about people who defend HP! SUFFER bitch!" Cue hell loop until my brain is flayed over anything nobody actually even said or did.
I don't even LIKE HP that much anymore, why is wanting to stop having PTSD episodes about stupid shit the thing that also dropkicks me down seven circles of hell??? It's made all the so-called "leftist" enclaves of the internet a minefield. Why are people with OCD everyone's favourite collateral when it comes to stuff shitty rich assholes do? Is it so fucking hard to stop making up thought crimes to attack people over??
It's an extra layer of horrible when the same people have no problems applying "no ethical consumption under capitalism" to stuff like Coca Cola and Nestlé products. Y'all can't possibly live without child slavery chocolate or making brown people drink Nestlé's toxic filth or anything that's subjecting Indigenous communities and people in entire Global South continents to long, lingering, horrible deaths, but this one franchise whose author royalties are funding the UK transphobic lobby is the one line that matters. Fuck all the trans people in those places I guess. Every single Global North consumer moral policing is western leftists's dehumanization of our people writ large. Fuck all of you.

my post series recommendation is that if you've never listened to the orchestral version of hero by faouzia while thinking about Wilhelm and Simon's utter trainwreck of a romance, you should. I think you should.
#shows#young royals#I have loved this show truly#and it can never not be political for me given where I grew up and my own convictions but I don't think the crew copped out of the politics#maybe it's a gentler version of the story than reality would allow but it's a wonderful example of#thoughtful naturalistic visual storytelling that is largely uninterested#in overexplaining or justifying it's narrative#while still remaining loyal to it's thematic baseline#I'd love to actually get around to some of that meta I vauged about post s2 on class and setting and possibly I will in May#when I have room for thoughts#because I do still want to make my points about how the personalisation of politics usually makes people blind to the systemic issue at han#which I think the show balanced pretty nicely#if you grew up or are growing up in a constitutional monarchy and you're not really engaged with your local republican movement#maybe now would be a good time to start thinking about it#a lot of people think 'well it's an archaic system so it should go' and leave it at that but the issues run so much deeper#than who the head of state is and this stuff is really worth considering if this is the political system the currently defines your future#anyway I'll put my praxis down for the time being#and just take a moment to appriciate this fantastic variation on the age old theme#isn't love really just a form of madness#like doesn't first love just kind of make you utterly lose your mind in a way that could conceivably bring empires to their knees#in all of it's single minded innocence and utter irrationality#cause yeah....yeah I remember that

oh god help me .my l egs
#went on very very long walks down many trails today for bug collecting purposes . some running happened. lots of walking over trees#and up and down hills#i should not have done any of these things . my poor legs. oh good lort. the agonies.#my JOINSt they're trying to ESCAPE#my toesssss my ankles. my knees. ahuhg. uaurug#and then i had to walk around in a walmart afterwards. and then ascend and descend stairs a few times.#i finally laid down in bed and i can feel my legs about to slough right off#and I used the BAD compression socks today this is AWFUL. the compression happening was ZILCH .
