“Recording data log. Crewmate Nova. Date; July 3rd, 2532. I and my team have just returned from the Company after successfully meeting our weekly quota. As such we are now entering our rest period before we receive our next job.

“As recorded in my previous logs our last job was, thankfully, rather uneventful. At least compared to some other job runs. There were minimal injuries as we stuck to calmer moons and worked quickly.

“Visiting the Company went about the same as it usually does. Honestly that place unnerves me, sometimes more than the moons. The sounds behind that wall… I shouldn’t say too much else Data might revoke my log privileges. Or start editing them. rude.”

Definitely totally normal Pokémon. Absolutely nothing wrong here.

Marimo is more Azurill than Eevee, able to stand upright and can swim far better. Both he and Pennyroyal are very quiet, seeming to communicate with one another silently. They tend to get themselves into trouble quite a lot, but handle themselves quite well.

Pennyroyal is way more Eevee compared to her brother. She CAN stand up on her hind legs, but it's a lot trickier. It's also due to her much shorter tail, but she doesn't seem to mind.

You're free to take these Absolutely Totally Normal babies if you wish!

Pokemon Horizons Episode 71 Review - The Ghost Of The Crystal Pool

Despite the episode being segmented into three different parts, Horizons actually does a good job transitioning all of it in one episode without making it feel too clunky or rushed. It’s a well-paced episode that gives everything it needs to without putting off anything into off-screen land or for another episode.

The first part of the episode is the kids and Friede finally reaching the Crystal Pool to search for Briar. Friede decides to search for her while the kids take in the sight of the Crystal Pool. Then, a Milotic shows up and terastalizes. I do like that ever since the third arc, the kids are more proactive to battle and do not need Friede to help them out anymore. These three go in a sort of Tera Raid Battle with the terastalized Milotic and actually hold off pretty well until the battle ends with Milotic and Crocalor singing, which was super cute. The Milotic in the pool is actually an occurrence that happens in-game, but the Milotic isn’t terastalized in the game, but it is programmed with a Ghost-Type tera, synonymous to the legend about the Crystal Pool being a place where one can see those who passed away. I like that the anime actually makes this happen as a way to make up for not putting it in the game. My favorite part was how the kids decided to bait Milotic out by doing a sort of water yo-yo pulling tactic where Quaxwell is the bait, Floragato is the reeler and Crocalor attacks when it goes through. These kids really know how to strategize even in tight spots now!

After the battle, Briar shows up. This is where the episode transitions into Area Zero and Terapagos lore with Briar talking about how she met a Terapagos before and also tells the group about Heath. With how she talked about meeting a Terapagos before, it makes me wonder if Horizons’ storyline takes place sometime after the game and the DLC. It now makes sense why Arven didn’t play a huge role and why Kieran didn’t show up with Carmine. I do like the parallel Briar has with Liko in that they’re both searching for the past for answers. According to the episode, it seems like Heath has found Terapagos first and then Lucius stumbled across it years later, hence why he was aware of the name Terapagos. I honestly can’t wait to see how this all ties together later on. Briar said that she’ll contact the group in regards to Area Zero later on, so it feels that this will be the first and only instance of Briar being significant to the story for a while. It sucks because she was built up to be super important only to appear in an episode. I guess they’re doing the same thing with the Gym Leaders from the previous arc in that they show up once but also show up later on. I do hope Briar shows up later on in the arc.

The final part of the episode has the Rising Volt Tacklers pondering about their next objective. They decide to look for the rest of the Six Heroes, but have no idea where they could be. Fortunately, Dot, who was wondering around Mossui Town to get video footage for content, stumbles upon a Hisuian Growlithe and its Trainer Perrin. Perrin was definitely a scene stealer for me. She was very charming here. She’s playful, but also keeps a mysterious air to her. She challenges Dot to a battle like how she does in the game, using a Leafeon reminiscent of her game counterpart and ancestor Adaman; Dot wins as Quaxwell learned Air Cutter in place of Pound, giving them the type advantage. Though, she does need to explain why she said she’s from Hisui when the region is now Sinnoh. Perrin does give Dot a photo of her evidence about the Kleavor sighting, which leads her to bring her to the airship. The way she brings this total stranger to the group and the group being totally confused on what is going on and who this person is was hilarious to watch.

Now that Perrin has joined the group temporarily, I do wonder how their search for Kleavor will be like. I know they’ll succeed, but what will transpire in the middle of their goal? I can’t wait to find out next week. Also, Tinkatuff shows up in the beginning of the episode and she isn’t seen again. What the heck? What are your thoughts on this episode?

any info on maple parents

well. i found a TREASURE TROVE worth of info for maple's parents. um. gonna put it all under the cut bc this is genuinely a lot of info.

Venus Cayleb Costa Dias and Ulex Antonio Ramos Vargas are rangers, both of which trained together on vulgrado and have been partners since they first got into ranger school. venus was later transferred to paldea on request when maple got into narauva. venus was also selected to join the experimental area zero ranger force, training and preparing for much of his time in paldea, as well as spending quite a bit of time in and out of the crater to get used to the dangerous environment until the program officially launched fulltime after briar's expedition into the depths almost a year ago. he has an umbreon and glaceon, as well as two garchomp, a corviknight, and a gogoat. venus also has a strong preferance for flabebe, and has an anonymous blog dedicated to talking about them that he posts on occasionally in his (nowadays very sparce) free time. this is likely related to him growing up with a family that owned massive florges gardens and bred the pokemon. venus has 1 sibling

ulex on the other hand is a more standard ranger. he is permitted to use a capture styler when needed, and has an espeon and leafeon. he grew up on a farm in vulgrado, and is overal quite plain. he is very much the straight man to the 3 insane people in this 4 person polycule. he also has 2 siblings

nettle is a neurosurgeon. he has no contact with any of his family, and its unclear if nettle carina maletta is actually his name. it may be a fake name and identity, as there is very little record of his existence until his 18th birthday. he has a comfey and a meganium.

Ivelyne "Ivy" Arai is the severe freak here. heir to the Union of the Hounds, she is the oldest of 3 triplets. when she turned 19, ivy disappeared and was classified as a missing person for several years until she was found at age 27. from what can be discerned, though she was living with a fake name, she had legally identified maple has her kid under her real name, allowing her family to find her through finding out about maple first. in regards to maples birth, ivy is known to have been diagnosed with severe postpartum depression and psychosis, as well as persisting mental health issues that led to her being committed to a psych ward for several months after her being found. in the years since, she has gotten much better, and has continued her practice as a therapist. she has a houndoom, runerigus, haxorus, aggron, beheeyem, and vivillon. the runerigus is referred to by maple as their uncle, and ivy is known to admit it is a dead childhood friend of hers, but has not identified whos ghost exactly.

i, uh... don't know what pokémon you have, so just hit me xD

I don't think any of them truly like to be dirty, but some of them don't mind it. Sage, Aspen, and Sorrel (my Leafeon, Luxray, and Houndoom) do not take baths. I brush them twice a week, and mist Sage's greenery daily, and of course, clean their feet if they've been digging, but otherwise, they sort themselves out.

Hyacinth, my Horsea, is in a similar boat. I make sure his tank is clean, and that he has various textures of coral to rub against, but trying to clean him myself would do more harm than good.

Briar, while she actually enjoys being clean, makes a big mess in the process. As a Gliscor with quite a sturdy exoskeleton, she would normally be cleaned by sandstorms in the wild, since water is a poor option. To scrub her down, I have to rent space at a local art studio, and sandblast her. Somebody once tried to accuse me of abuse, but stopped when she grabbed the nozzle and blasted herself.

And then… there's the diva. I'm very fortunate that Spruce is a very small Skuntank. If he weighed any more than the 4kg that he does, I would not be putting up with daily brushing and weekly baths, not to mention all the rubbing down with a wet cloth after he shoves himself into a dusty corner somewhere. To be clear; he does not like to be dirty. He does this specifically so that I will need to clean him.

I’m debating if I should change up Briar’s and Lilia’s teams up a bit and their backstories ((which I’m still kind of figuring out) oops 😅 )

Like Lilia will still have Tiny (her joltik) and Baby (her zorua) as official members of her team but Whiskey is not ‘officially’ hers i.e. they’re still technically wild and decided that she’s not really comfortable being in a pokéball quite yet. It would be really funny if Daffodil and Mochi just kind of showed up in her apartment one day. I’m thinking of giving her a fidough or dachsbun to relate to her passion of baking and maybe a grass type like a bounsweet or steenee or petilil.

And Briar will still have Whisper (her hisuian zorua) and Shadow (her zoroark) but she might add a dachsbun because it reminds her of Lilia. Maybe she has a vaporeon that helps her water her plants and a leafeon because they’re both cute and fit her theme too.

It’s okay to still be figuring our backstories! You just recently names them, so I assume they’re new ocs. Ocs take a while to fully flesh out :)

Both of these teams sound super cute!! I love Briar’s in particular. Sounds like she likes to have matching pairs with the zoroark and the eeveelutions!

I love that Lilia has baby pokemon. She’s the one that breed joltiks right? I like your idea that some pokemon just showed up at her door. Maybe she just has mom vibes that orphaned pokemon like!

This will be a fun way for people to understand the Pokémon better, and how they truly feel

Nuclear attacks are super effective against all other types ‘cept other nuclears and steel types. Though the drawback is that we’re weak to ever type as well.”

i actually already designed my own region - well, two, actually, since i have way too much free time on my hands haha. they’re known as the fairel region and the ordela region respectively; they’re opposites of each other in the sense that fairel is deeply enrooted in history and overflowing with nature, whereas ordela is home to technologically advanced metropolises and is overrun with crime and general disorder. fairel was created out of my long-held desire to experience a true open-world pokemon experience, chock full of beautiful locations to explore to your heart’s content without having to adhere to the same, linear routes and overall lack of content... and ordela was created solely so i could write a darker plot, similar to that of pokemon colosseum.

ignoring how this is my laziest ever graphic, this is a request for a tight-knit group of friends. the age range is mid-late 20s and the majority of them should be la based.

all about the tough exterior, adventurous and courageous rashness, hot-headed and stubborn, but super sensitive on the inside and always feel like they need to prove themselves. 

VAPOREON - TARON EGERTON - 20s - ELLIE.

observant, chill, following the flow and adjuting to changes easily. very private and not the most outgoing, you’d only know what they want you to know about them. 

UMBREON - BRIAR MONROE - 25 - LUNA.

reserved, secretive, mostly calm, free spirited and a night owl. somehow always knows the best places to go out to and has so many connections you honestly don’t want to know how they have.

SYLVEON - VIVIAN LANCASTER - 27 - DITTO.

friendly, affecationate and enthusiastic, a bit of peter pan in their soul. they always look for a new thing to attach to, and they attach to things quickly. tend to burn themselves out emotionally. 

LEAFEON - OPEN - 20s - OPEN.

very friendly, but also timid, prefers people to come to them but once they open up you can’t shut them up. has trust issues and doesn’t forgive easily, but generally one of the nice ones.

JOLTEON - MARGOT DE VRIES - 27 - EFFY.

very charming and social, but tends to wear their heart on their sleeves. they tend to be more pessimistic about life and solve their problems in fights. they’re a troublemaker, that’s for sure.

ESPEON - SUNDAY BRYANT - 28 - MAY.

passionate, calm and loyal. he has a deep appriciation and understanding of nature and beauty, but he tend to be quite stubborn and unmoving in their opinions. also annoyingly sarcastic. 

GLACEON - OPEN - 20s - OPEN.

cautious, cold and socially awkward. they prefer the silence and focusing on their talents and interests rather than people. also the one who remembers everything and judge you for forgetting.
