I Saw Solas's Origin in an Achievement Icon and It Opened My Eyes on 15 Years of Lore
— PART SEVEN: if you haven't read previous parts, do it now! —
[ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ] [ 10 ]
Welcome, friends and travellers! I wanted to get some thoughts recorded before Veilguard's release so I could see if I am right about an absolute BOATLOAD of theories I have.
In short: I saw the achievement list when it was released. I have seen the backstory hints for Solas included in said list. AND MY MIND WAS BLOWN.
You have been warned: THIS COLLECTION OF THEORIES INCLUDES SPOILERS FOR EVERY DRAGON AGE GAME AND ALL PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL UP TO AND INCLUDING OCTOBER 18, 2024.
Come sit down with me. Make a nice cup of tea (and hide it from Solas). We've got a lot of unpacking to do.
Tumblr media
(Image from Brianne Battye's Won't Know When. it's a great read! not the spoiler, though.)
Today's Discussion: The Tragedy of the Evanuris (3/3)
— Pestilent Doom Upon All the World —
Welcome back! If you're new here, go read all the other parts. Yes, I know there are six of them. There's a reason there are six of them! The context is building as we go, I promise.
If you made it this far, you're a hero. Thanks for bearing with me through the muddled chronology of the earlier Evanuris. I promise: it matters, for when we get to Solas in future (soon!!) instalments.
Now, the most immediate threat to Thedas: the blight. We know the story of Ancient Elvhenan ends (in one sense) with Solas creating the Veil, sealing the Evanuris in their prisons, keeping the blight from consuming all Thedas. We know that the blight involves red lyrium, but not how it involves red lyrium. We know that Ghilan'nain and Andruil have had contact with it, but not how.
The truth is: all the Evanuris are guilty, in their own way. Ghilan'nain's and Andruil's story is only part of the blight's story—and figuring out the rest of it will piece together some of the final gaps in the puzzle that is Solas Dragonage.
Let's begin.
"Blackened Hearts" and Portents of Doom
Pestilent Hate
"Banal Malas Elgara" — What WAS the Blight's Beginning?
Andruil: Huntress of the Void
Mythal: Intervention, Too Late
Ghilan'nain: Mother of Monsters, Who Once Was Most Sensitive
One Mistake Becomes Everyone's Weapon

"Blackened Hearts" and Portents of Doom
There is a reason I went over all the Evanuris, even the ones not most immediately related to Veilguard. It was to establish a pattern: the Evanuris all harvested from the Titans to do horrible experiments on both spirits and corporeal people.
The Titans are living organisms. We see Shaper Valta describe their song as "breathing." Red lyrium contains the Blight, and the Blight only affects living things. We even see red lyrium growing in the Fade.
There is not an Evanuris among the bunch who is not guilty of taking from the Forgotten Ones. Mythal mined their bodies for lyrium, which she made into people. Sylaise and June did the same, each with their own horrible experiments. Elgar'nan took it one step further, sundering spirits under his domain. Dirthamen shoved additional spirits/demons into the bodies of his worshippers—and animals, trees, etc. Falon'Din may have made it his mission to kill all Titans entirely, but blackened their hearts instead (we'll get into the meaning of that very shortly).
Not only do these actions solidify Solas's motivations for imprisoning all of the Evanuris, regardless of the blight that would threaten everything—it also sets the stage for that blight to emerge.
Every Evanuris did something that could have prompted the blight's beginning. Their wretched crimes doomed all of Thedas. It's just a matter of figuring out the exact moment that doom took shape.
Long has it been debated in the DA fandom about whether red lyrium began the blights, or whether the blights caused red lyrium to start growing within the Titans. I could not decide which argument I believed more...
Until I saw Solas's Manifestation memory icon, and then read World of Thedas.
Tumblr media
Pestilent Hate
Remember how I said a couple of times before that the Titans are named similarly to spirits/demons in World of Thedas?
Tumblr media
Long have many of us in the fandom wailed over the fact that Spite is on this list. But I think that, collectively, most of us overlooked Pestilence.
Let us go over what we know. According to both the Chant of Light and the Dwarven faith and ancient elvhen texts, Titans shaped the world. They are living beings, whose blood is everywhere. They are named in the same fashion as spirits, and can evidently be "turned" in the same ways as spirits, likely because all spirits are formed from Titans' thoughts.
All four of these Forgotten Ones have been "turned." We also know that what "turns" a spirit in Thedas is trauma: usually the trauma of passing through the Veil.
Seeing the name Pestilence, I checked my theory against all other sources available to me, starting with what we know of the blight thus far.
Ancient elven sources refer to the blight as a plague that spread through Andruil's lands (more on that later). Again, it is mentioned as a plague in a blood-memory on a Tevinter statue. The Chant of Light also makes mention of the word "plague:"
There in the depths of the earth they dwelled, Spreading their taint as a plague, growing in number Until they were a multitude.
But I wanted to go one step further. I wanted to see if pestilence would be mentioned explicitly, in any way that might point it back to the Forgotten Ones.
(17) The Seven struck against the Archon With all their twisted magic, But no pestilent hate could turn aside Tevinter's Ferryman. (18) Across the plain, the Archon saw, Where the defilers stood, corruption, Blackness all consuming, Threatened to engulf his land and all his people. With fire and lightning he strove To cleanse the spreading poison from the earth, To no avail. Magic could not undo What evil had done.
There: the Seven (the Magisters Sidereal, the ones who went to the Blackened City) turned pestilent hate against the Archon when he tried to stop them. That magic is then described as defiled, corrupted, a blackness all consuming, threatening to engulf his land and all his people. It is likened to poison spreading through the earth—which we now know can be interpreted as the Titans' domain.
But magic could not undo what evil had done, in much the same way that flinging fire and lightning at a demon will not persuade it to revert back to its former, friendly nature.
I do not believe the Magisters were the first ones to bring the blight to what would become the Silent Plains. In fact, I do not believe that to necessarily be Andruil, either, who famously stalked the Void to hunt the Forgotten Ones.
I think the real culprit comes sooner: the foundation of every Evanuris atrocity.
The mining of Titans for people.
Tumblr media
"Banal Malas Elgara" — What WAS the Blight's Beginning?
One of the first songs I posted about, way back in part 2 of this series, may hold the key to our entire understanding of the Blight.
Ir sa tel'nal Mythal las ma theneras Ir san'a emma Him solas evanuris Da'durgen'lin Banal malas elgara Bellanaris, bellanaris.
Isatunoll Mythal gives you dreams Lyrium within Becomes Solas Evanuris Little stone boy...
Here is where I paused, because I remembered something about the elven language: a word that does not appear in this song, but is cited in World of Thedas vol 1. Something I had not considered, even when I wrote part 2 of this theory, because the realizations are happening that fast.
Banalhan: "This place of nothing," the Elven name for the Blight, or, rather, where the Blight comes from.
If "Banalhan" is where the Blight comes from, and "-an" is the suffix that denotes a place name, then what is the root word for Blight?
Banal.
The rest of the song would then become:
Blight you give to the Many-Spirit (Titan) Forever, forever.
Oh.
But hang on a moment: we don't see Mythal wielding the Blight like Ghilan'nain is in Veilguard. We haven't seen her do it even once! In fact, Solas describes Mythal as the lone voice of reason among the Evanuris, and laments the fact that the others killed her.
Mythal is known not for her greed, nor her impulsivity, but her wisdom and restraint. It makes me think that this codex about the ancient elves sealing the Deep Roads belongs in this portion of the Evanuris's history: before the rise of Ghilan'nain, and before the end was near.
In the light of the veilfire, the runes seem to shift, coiling and uncoiling like snakes. A thunderous voice shatters the stillness, shouting: "Hail Mythal, adjudicator and savior! She has struck down the pillars of the earth and rendered their demesne unto the People! Praise her name forever!" For a moment, the scent of blood fills the air, and there is a vivid image of green vines growing and enveloping a sphere of fire.
Part one seems to be what we know: Mythal struck down the Titans and farmed people. But then?
The vision grows dark. An aeon seems to pass. Then the runes crackle, as if filled with an angry energy. A new vision appears: elves collapsing caverns, sealing the Deep Roads with stone and magic. Terror, heart-pounding, ice-cold, as the last of the spells is cast.
Elves hurriedly sealing the Deep Roads. Terror, as the last of the spells is cast. We know that Terror is the name of one of the Forgotten Ones, and I would imagine that this codex describes that Titan turning.
But if this Forgotten One is Terror? What came next confused me, for a time.
A voice whispers: "What the Evanuris in their greed could unleash would end us all. Let this place be forgotten. Let no one wake its anger. The People must rise before their false gods destroy them all."
This is the exact same language that's getting used about the blight in Veilguard—namely, by Solas, who hinted at this concept in Inquisition as well. The blight threatens to end all creation, so what is it doing associated with Terror, not Pestilence?
"Pestilent hate" does not refer only to Pestilence's hatred. It refers to hatred that spreads like pestilence, from those "blackened hearts" of the Titans.
Many have thought of it before I: the blight is the Titans' defence mechanism against the Evanuris's war effort and subsequent crimes.
Mythal was wise enough to seal it all away. But the others?
Tumblr media
Andruil: Huntress of the Void
Many of you are already familiar with Andruil, and so I will be brief.
Before I dive into the blight material, I'd like to draw quick mention to: yup, Andruil was also taking spirits. She took the "screams of the south wind," which I am going to interpret means "spirits of the Fade in the south."
She took the gathering storm, trapped its fury in golden limbs, and strung it with the screams of the south wind. Andruil, blood and force, your people pray to you. Grant that your eye may not fall upon us. Spare us the moment we become Your prey.
Since we know that the Titans are un-sundered in her time, this does still count as stealing from the Forgotten Ones in the same way as mining lyrium does.
Back to the blight, and to the hunting codices that many of us know and love.
One day Andruil grew tired of hunting mortal men and beasts. She began stalking the Forgotten Ones, wicked things that thrive in the abyss. Yet even a god should not linger there, and each time she entered the Void, Andruil suffered longer and longer periods of madness after returning.
I want to draw attention to this first paragraph because of the mention of its timing. Prior to this codex, the Evanuris loved fighting the Titans! They loved mining the Titans for lyrium! For people! This is the first mention we see of venturing to the Abyss being an inadvisable thing to do. This tells me she went after the Titans became "wicked things." Now, there was a danger. Now, there was blight.
Andruil put on armor made of the Void, and all forgot her true face. She made weapons of darkness, and plague ate her lands. She howled things meant to be forgotten, and the other gods became fearful Andruil would hunt them in turn.
Important to note: the wiki lists that darkness and taint/blight are the same thing. Additionally, Andruil howled things meant to be forgotten. Knowing what we know now about lyrium, and about how darkspawn hear a unique calling—I'm going to wager that Andruil heard the songs of these twisted/tainted Titans, whether or not that counts as the Calling.
Plague ate her lands. We know "lands" refers to Titans (remember that Elgar'nan was asked to tame the land). Therefore: plague (blight) ravaged the Titan of her domain.
Most importantly: the other gods became fearful Andruil would hunt them. They weren't afraid of that before. It means she must have changed.
(I'm not going to discuss the lyrium armor at this point; every Evanuris has done many a Lyrium Crime, and I do not think there's anything super substantive in Andruil wearing lyrium armor, save for the fact that it is probably red, as her art in The Missing [comic image pictured above] suggests.)
My key takeaway is: Andruil did not create the blight, nor did she discover it. The Evanuris knew about the blight, and Mythal's elves had tried to seal it away. Andruil's crime is that she stalked the Forgotten Ones again, bringing the blight back to the pantheon.
Tumblr media
Mythal: Intervention, Too Late?
Remember that Solas refers to Mythal as the lone voice of reason among the Evanuris? He was likely referring to what came next in that codex.
So Mythal spread rumors of a monstrous creature and took the form of a great serpent, waiting for Andruil at the base of a mountain. When Andruil came, Mythal sprang on the hunter. They fought for three days and nights, Andruil slashing deep gouges in the serpent's hide. But Mythal's magic sapped Andruil's strength, and stole her knowledge of how to find the Void. After this, the great hunter could never make her way back to the abyss, and peace returned.
We all know the point of this codex: that Mythal stepped in to intervene when Andruil came back carrying the blight. I want to draw attention to a few key facts here.
Mythal is clearly using lyrium/Titan-based magic, while Andruil is using the "air"/Fade-based magic. Remember that Andruil's bow was strung with screams from the wind: this is that. Mythal's magic counters Andruil's, just like templars' magic counters mages' magic.
Mythal then takes Andruil's memories away from her with this lyrium-based magic. The only way that we are aware of how to do that is by then Shaping the memory into the Stone. This is where a lot of people link Andruil, Sera, and the Small Painted Box found in Origins and referenced in Sera's dialogue (another theory I have no time to elaborate on—I am positive it is located somewhere, if you go hunting!)
Andruil is never mentioned as getting these memories back. But that does not mean that knowledge of the blight halted there.
In fact... Andruil raised up a mortal to the ranks of the Evanuris, just like Mythal did for Solas. Since we know Solas's origin. . .
Tumblr media
Ghilan'nain: Mother of Monsters, Who Was Once Most Sensitive
"As you were raised up from mortal men to stand with our Creators, our Makers, so raise me up now to defend this world." — Inquisitor Ameridan
Ghilan'nain is oft cited as a follower of Andruil. We know, though, from the stories of Mythal, Falon'Din, Sylaise, and even June, that followers of the Evanuris do not necessarily mean mortals who chose to follow them. Rather, we know that follower most often means creation.
Ghilan'nain is a creation of Andruil, who created many monsters for Andruil to hunt. In fact, as the goddess of sacrifice, that seems to be what Andruil wanted the most from her "followers."
My most important question is: where did Ghilan'nain come from, to make her the way that she is? It's likeliest that Solas came from the same Titan that Mythal initially locked away (or another similarly blighted Titan). Yet, Solas is not... Like That™, the way Ghilan'nain is.
(AKA, I don't see him sliding around on tentacles, creating all manner of horrors under 12 different mountains in Nevarra.)
Ghilan'nain seems to be the strongest proponent of and most skilled wielder of blight magic among the Evanuris. I think it has everything to do with the Titan she came from. And I think we can guess at which one that is, based on a few key details.
First, we know that the Titan Mythal sealed away was likely Terror. Second, we have a codex from another of the Forgotten Ones: Geldauran.
There are no gods. There is only the subject and the object, the actor and the acted upon. Those with will to earn dominance over others gain title not by nature but by deed. I am Geldauran, and I refuse those who would exert will upon me. Let Andruil's bow crack, let June's fire grow cold. Let them build temples and lure the faithful with promises. Their pride will consume them, and I, forgotten, will claim power of my own, apart from them until I strike in mastery.
Geldauran is speaking out against specifically two of the Evanuris: Andruil and June. If Geldauran had first been mined by Mythal, wouldn't Mythal's name also have been mentioned, as Mythal's horrors are the first among the Evanuris (as far as I can tell)?
But no: there are only two mentioned here. I believe Andruil and June, therefore, were both mining from Geldauran.
What was Ghilan'nain doing, before joining the Evanuris? Staying away from all the elvhen, creating.
Ghilan'nain kept herself apart from the People. She used her power to create animals none had ever seen.
I'm imagining this means she is hanging out nearby her Titan, down in the Abyss.
The skies teemed with her monsters, the land with her beasts.
And this? We know skies means the Fade, full of her monsters. What monsters are known to inhabit the Fade? Demons. As for the land, that's the Titans' domain, and it encapsulates every other creature: anything corporeal.
Andruil hunted them all, and after a year of killing, approached Ghilan'nain with an offer: the gods would share their power with Ghilan'nain, but only if she destroyed her creations, for they were too untamed to remain among the People. Ghilan'nain agreed and asked for three days to undo what she had made.
The creations were hurting the elvhen: the Evanuris's other creations. Their other property. And so Ghilan'nain, spirit of Geldauran, was asked to leave the Titan's domain, promised the power of the Evanuris instead.
(We won't go over the "which monsters did she kill and why did Pride stop her hand" here, because it is not relevant for a discussion of the blight, except to say that griffons are peculiarly resistant to the blight.)
Let's assume that this Titan, Geldauran, was a spirit of Creation, or something similar.
What is the opposite of creation? Life? Pestilence.
While I believe that the blight is the defence mechanism of every injured or angered Titan, I believe that Pestilence affords Ghilan'nain with different abilities than the other Evanuris, save for June/June's domain (who, also, as Architect? 100% was "improving upon" his own creations with what sounds like the fires of a forge).
This is also why I think that Ghilan'nain and Andruil's relationship matters as much as it does. I'm not the first to speculate that it's Andruil making up Ghilan'nain's second torso. I'm not the first one to have latched on to how Solas said Ghilan'nain was, "most sensitive of us."
Conclusion? Ghilan'nain did not invent the blight. Once, she may have even created beautiful creatures on purpose.
I believe that there may have been a point where Ghilan'nain tried to cure Andruil of the blight. A point where she was more aligned with Creation/Healing than Pestilence. Where what she wanted was to populate the world with good things, healthy things. The halla we see in the open world (not the insectoid monstrosities painted in Hormak and other temples). The griffons, maybe.
But somewhere along the way—perhaps even because of Andruil hunting her Titan—Ghilan'nain changed. And when she changed, (re)discovering the blight as it was brought back by Andruil?
No one could keep it a secret any longer. And if there is one thing we know about the Evanuris, it is that every single one of them has done unspeakable acts in the name of augmenting the lives of their creations, to the detriment of everything and everyone else.
Thirst for power among the Evanuris would threaten to blight the world, and it was all of their fault at once.
Tumblr media
One Mistake Becomes Everyone's Weapon
This—THIS is why I spent 6,000 words going over the other Evanuris. Because the blight is not the fault of just Andruil, or just Ghilan'nain, as so many of us believed for so long.
In fact, the blight sounds like it first made its appearance because of Mythal. Mythal, the only one to turn away from it and try to keep others away from it, lest everything else be destroyed.
Every single other Evanuris has expressed nothing but interest in it, that we have seen. Elgar'nan is using it in Veilguard, from what we know. Falon'Din maybe wanted every Titan to die, not live in peace. Dirthamen might have tricked the Magisters Sidereal into entering the Golden City just to blight them all and escape himself. Sylaise and June both pushed their creations to the limits of what is possible, bending life to their command and their image.
Every single one of them had an archdemon. A blighted dragon. All but Mythal (that we know of).
THIS is why Solas cannot stop with just imprisoning Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan, or Ghil and Elgar'nan and Andruil, or even any six of the seven.
The tragedy of the Evanuris is that every single one of the pantheon was unstoppable in their greed. Every single Evanuris caused the events that led to the blight. Every single Evanuris ignored Mythal's warnings.
And they all killed her, in the end.
----
AAAAA THANK YOU for reading this far, AGAIN, if you have! I'm trying to finish up the entirety of my theory collection before Veilguard drops, so stay tuned!
Also: I am essentially FULLY OFFLINE to try and avoid game spoilers! As these reviews have just gone live today (10/28), I am not reading my notifications/replies, and am appearing here only to continue posting my theories. I have heard that the embargo has been broken at least once already and I refuse to risk it, so I will respond to messages and notifications once I have played Veilguard for a bit.
(Mutuals, if you need me, you may DM me, as long as you do not mention the reviews in any capacity.)
This series is close to its end. It should wrap up after 9 or 10 parts in total.
Coming Up Next: The Story of Solas Evanuris, Da'Durgen'lin.

There is a TV on in the room where I am knitting and the channel it is on is literally playing Game of Thrones 24/7. Like. Literally. I don’t even understand it. No one is going to go without sleep for however many days just to be able to keep up with this???
Anyway. I have never seen GoT nor read it. My exposure to it was purely through innumerable gif sets and fan analysis and generally existing when it was running.
So like, I am seeing parts of scattered episodes and there are some things I did not realise.
1. Jesus Christ there are so many characters. Too many characters. I cannot keep track of these stories.
2. some things did not happen in the order I thought they did/for the reasons I thought they did. I thought the Stark kids got split up because of the Red Wedding. Now I’m kinda confused as to who was even there bc that episode apparently played in the middle of the night and I think I saw like… literally two of the characters who were apparently at the Red Wedding? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3. I mean yeah I now remember hearing about exactly how many tits were in this series but... Yeah. Huh.
4. Tyrion and Arya are the most likeable.
5. Brianne is adorable and just needs to have a job of protecting someone?
6. Joffrey dies a lot sooner than I thought.

My thoughts and feelings on Uglies the movie
I'm starting to think I understand a bit of how people who read Percy Jackson before watching the movies feel. Uglies was... a movie. I have thoughts that I wanna share with a condensed version of my rant with the notes I took at the very bottom. I know in the end it's just a movie but at the moment it's important to me. Obviously SPOILERS for Uglies, the book (mainly the first one) and the movie.
I want to start with the things I liked since that's a much shorter list.
i LOOVEE the casting for Dr. Cable as Laverne Cox, Keith Powers as David, Brianne Tju as Shay. I also like the casting for David's parents, Croy, Sussy, Dex and An.
Not all the design elements hit for me but the look and sound of the hover cars and boards i really liked. As well as how the interface rings looked and worked, kinda showing how easy it was for things to be "hacked". The look of the operation tank wasn't something I thought too hard about but I like how they brought it to life. And "THE SMOKE LIVES" was beautifully done. While reading the books I imagined something more childish given the sparklers but the movie did them wonderfully.
And something small and rather insignificant, Tally telling Shay that Peris was the one who gave her the necklace makes a little more sense than some random person giving it to her and her caring enough to wear it all the way to the Smoke.
Now... on to the nitty gritty of the things I didn't like as much. Some are kinda nitpicky so take my word with a grain of salt as these are all just my personal opinions. I took notes as I watched so they will kind of be in chronological order.
First is the casting of Tally and Peris. I knew when I saw the trailers I wouldn't like Joey King as Tally Youngblood, I don't think she's that bad of an actress, she just doesn't fit my vision of Tally. I like alternatives of someone like HAVANA ROSE LIU !!!, Sophia Lillis, Emma Myers, Paris Berelc, Chandler Kinney, Inde Navarrette, Talia Ryder, Quintessa Swindell. Basically, anyone other than Joey King. Someone I could see being book 1 Tally but also becoming who she was in later books. And for Peris maybe someone like Archie Renaux, Archie Madekwe, Nico Hiraga, Brodie Townsend, Connor Sherry, maybe a Finn Little or even a Charlie Plummer. Clearly, I don't have a set look for these characters just vibes.
I don't like that Dr. Cable is a public figurehead. Most of the things she does and are capable of are because she's more secretive. She's a manipulator who works behind the scenes. I could've appreciated it if they had done more with it and made it a purposeful change but like many other things I don't see the point in it.
Tally's relationships with anyone are honestly one of the most disappointing things done and my #1 gripe with this movie. It just does not make me care at all. We're missing so many vital scenes that I'm sure they couldn't fit all of them in but because of what they cut out I couldn't buy into them as people. Everything just felt so temporary and non concrete. I know it was probably to save money from actors ( f you btw netflix) but I'm sad the only other scene with Tally's parents, them convincing her to give up Shay and the Smoke, was missing. Her and Peris' relationship falls very one note and her and Shay's just falls flat. No real friendship between the two, bonding over feeling lonely and (at least to Tally) beginning their next step to prettiness together. Shay's constant reassurance that she doesn't think Tally is ugly and how she feels about keeping her original face because she doesn't think of herself as ugly either. Shay's anger is completely missing for me when in the book it was a very big thing considering how much Tally's betrayal cost her. The same anger thing with Maddy happened too but more on that later. Even with Dr. Cable manipulating her I think it was so poorly done. She just straight up lied to her about what was going on in the Smoke instead of using everything Tally had wanted for the last 16 years against her.
Next is what I think to be one another major failing on the movie that I have to force myself to understand that they simply didn't have time for but.. Cutting basically all of Tally's journey to the Smoke really hurt me because I feel like throughout all the books Tally's relationship and outlook on the wild is some of the most important because it shows a lot about who she is as a person when she really has to be alone with herself in such dangerous conditions and situations. The wild is always the start of her radicalization and her free thinking. It helps her be more open about the Smoke and it honestly informs a lot of her decisions later down the line. Her puzzling through Shay's note and learning to survive (with the help of some city things) were very detrimental and sad almost none of it made it into the script. And they didn't even get the note right!!
Short and to the point- replacing the rangers who helped Tally (and gave lowkey clues about what she learns later) with the Smokies.. Again, I understand time and money restraints but still Ugh!
Them making Croy immediately overly aggressive and skeptical of Tally also just takes away from his character. Even in the books we have little to go on, but I think taking away making him slowly put pieces together about Tally's stories and the math of the SpagBols simply not mathing is a small but disappointing takeaway.
The entire time in the Smoke went by wayy too fast, they never let you or Tally just sit and exist with the people living there already so again i just don't care that it was raided! We missed out on Tally discovering the people who lived there along with more of her relationship with Shay being discarded. Taking out the library, Tally discovering all of the people and faces from before through books and magazines and the man who looked over all of that. Which flattens her character more seeing as that was one of the first deaths she experiences that she feels is her fault. Tally meeting David's parents felt rushed and their conversation about the lesions just felt like it was her entire reason for suddenly not wanting to listen to Dr. Cable instead of her forming her own opinions and that being her final straw.
Something the movie loved to do was take away so many crucial parts of the story, a major thing being the raid of The Smoke. In the movie it happens so quickly even though I'm sure they could've included a majority of it. Tally's desperation in fighting for something she had inadvertently helped destroy, her and the Boss fighting to protect the last of the books and her watching him get killed because of it. Because of her. Her getting captured and gaining trust and respect from people (Croy!) who previously doubted her, but at the same time her relationship with Shay hitting the fan because she instantly knew Tally was at fault. Her being smart enough to outwit and out maneuver a Special Circumstance soldier and escape. Her hiding in the cave with David. Her coming back to see Croy had convinced people to leave their shoes because she didn't have any while hoverboarding away. All which fuels her guilt and need to protect and rebuild The Smoke seeing as she felt it her fault. In the movie she hid out in the open.. ran out screaming when Az was killed... outed what she had done in front of everyone. Then she blew up a building and Dr. Cable literally just let her go for no apparent reason. David finding out what she had done and what she caused should've warranted more anger but of course we get none of that. Next we just jump into helping the captured Smokies escape and Tally's crazy ass plan that actually helped show the depth of how smart she is was glazed over. We lose the reveal of Dr. Cable testing on Az causing him to pass away which, on top of being a doctor, fuels Maddy's need to have someone give informed consent before testing the cure for the lesions. The movie also took Maddy rightful anger toward Tally away from her. It might seem small in the grand scheme of things but agreeing to be the test subject for an untested brain alter for a woman who dislikes you for having a part in her husband dying is a step in her trying to earn forgiveness.
Shay's reveal to be turned pretty was completely under done and felt because of the lack of depth they gave to her character along with her relationship with Tally. Shay never wanted to be turned pretty and Tally is a big part of the reason her choice was taken away from her. Her becoming pretty was another thing that made Tally completely regret all that she had done and showed more of the ripple effect of the consequences of her actions. Plus that fuck ass wig and ugly silver dress they had her running around in !!
Overall so many of the choices made by netflix just lets me know they never intended on continuing the series in future movies regardless of the outcome of this one. Like them making Peris special and then killing him off ??!! The Specials having special suits and not special bodies. Changing out the rangers to not expand on the lore. ((Edit: The flowers being made by the cities actually does so much to harm the story which also explains why they removed the rangers because it was cities fighting against yet ANOTHER rusty invention that was destroying the world. The cities (who knows how many) were fighting to preserve nature which lends to them dulling people to slow down their overconsumption and later Tally's mission to make sure the wild was protected when people eventually got their free will back.)) Making the ending open ended because there was no way they could fully close it out because of the nature of the books but every other choice felt so definitive as to an ending and nothing more, like showing Tally pretty at the end when the closing of the book was just her surrendering. The movie itself didn't expand on even just the first books’ lore and it just felt like an extremely lukewarm version of the story that happens over a 30 minute period even though the movie is an hour and a half long. Everything felt rushed and not true to Uglies the book at all and it upsets me to see these books introduced to people in this way.
Ok, rant over. Peace out.
───────────⋆⋅☆⋅⋆───────────
TLDR, my sparknote ver.
Things I liked:
Lavern Cox as Dr. Cable
Keith Powers as David
Brianne Tju as Shay
Design of the hover cars and boards
Design of the operation tanks
Design of the "THE SMOKE LIVES" message
Thing I did Not like:
how this movie is a TERRIBLE introduction into this world
their failed attempts at humor
joey king as tally youngblood
dr. cable being a public figure head
the montage that skips basically all the world building
tally and shays watered down relationship
tally and davids watered down relationship
tally's parents not coming to see her before peris and really showing she was pushed into working with dr. cable
making the crash bracelets work like a bungee jacket and not using the mechanics from the book
dr cable lying abt what david and the smoke were doing to that extent
montage of the tallys journey in the wild
replacing the rangers with smokies
croy being over aggressive abt not trusting tally when he was sly and smart abt figuring out her story doesn't make sense
david just going "these are my parents" and no one clarifying their names
tally not slowly coming to realize that the smoke isn't that bad and her doubts before learning abt the lesions
the talk abt the lesions
peris being special
the attack on the smoke
not meeting the boss who keeps track of the books/magazines
tally and david hiding out in the open during the attack on the smoke
peris killing az bc az dying from medical testing was important !!! + az's "wah are yu doin"
tally outing herself in front of everyone 😒 + her dumbass escape scene bc she literally just got let go
not explaining or using tally's very smart plan to get into special headquarters
no pretty speak
shays ATROCIOUS ASS WIG that thing looks like a lego piece on her head and them contacts and that dumb ass dress
that glass breaking as soon as the fire touches it
the pt 2 of the solution being so easy to find and maddy not stealing dr. cables interface ring
the body suit for the specials bc their body is what made them special not the suits
joey king breaking up peris and david's fights was giving the fighting from the kissing booth
peris dying ??!!(!(!(
maddy not RIGHTFULLY being mad at tally for destroying her home and getting her husband killed
croy all of a sudden being on tallys side

Gunn & Safran confirm that Matt Reeves' universe exists in its own timeline & Pattinson will not be reprising his role for this film. There's a possibility that the DCU version will show up before his titular debut: "I wouldn't rule anything out," Gunn said. "He could show up in something else. But the actor doesn’t exist [yet]."

Tumblr media

Briefly described as "a group of young superheroes: including Nightwing, Cyborg and the aforementioned Starfire." "It was something that Ana [Nogueira] was really impassioned about, and she turned over an amazing script for us. She's fiddling with that now, but it's definitely not a finished script." — James Gunn
Tumblr media
The following DC projects have had problems in development:
Waller - Still haven’t cracked the scripts yet Booster Gold - Showrunner almost joined but lost interest The Authority - “The script had a harder time coming along”
Tumblr media
James Gunn says they’ve talked to NetherRealm and Rocksteady about developing more DC games.
Tumblr media
Gunn says they mapped out a six-year plan that tells a wider story, resulting in a project akin to Marvel Studios' Avengers films, though "each individual project works as its own thing." "It isn't like they're chapters of an overall story; they're characters that are part of an overall story." DC has set a goal to release 7 projects a year: 2 live-action films 1 animated film 2 live-action shows 2 animated series

Jon & Sansa | Winter in my Heart
youtube
I am simply obsessed with these 2. All the Metas and Fan Fiction from you beautiful kindred souls makes me feel so alive! I appreciate each and everyone of you. @istumpysk and @esther-dot @starwarsprincess1986 @sherlokiness @stormcloudrising , you guys give me LIFE with your Metas.
I'm more of a book fan because the show did these characters no justice. We all know WHY. I hope you guys are ok with me posting all these sappy videos. Im sort of new to Tumblr, and I love it here. When I heard about the Kit and Sofie movie set at the time of "war of the roses" I became even more obsessed with Jon and Sansa.
They are obviously giving it away with this movie and trying to get the "Anti's" to get comfortable with the fact that these 2 are inevitable. Before Sansa appeared at Castle Black and even before the show begin I always wondered what the deal was with these 2. It just didn't make any sense, or as someone else put it: "Jon and Sansa are the LOUDEST SILENCE". I ALWAYS had that feeling that the girl in grey would be her. There isn't a single doubt in my mind.
I think something horrible will go down in the Vale and the Blackfish will help Sansa some sort of way to get to Jon. I read many Metas where they say Jon will come back from the dead a mindless beast, and he will have no POV. That's just impossible. Our main character/HERO a mute stuck in a wolf.
First of all I don't think Jon is dead AT ALL. I believe he is hanging on by a string due to blood loss and shock and possibly in a coma like Bran was at the beginning of the series. He will warg Ghost and find out many things about himself through Ghost while his friends (the wildings) nurse him back to life. Though VAL is not one of my favorite characters, some say she is a healer. That could be good for Jon.
Melsandra will probably burn Shrinee anyway because she thinks Stannis is dead. I also think Jon was drugged before the stabbings. The way he spoke of clumsily trying to retrieve LongClaw, and he just gave me a weird vibe. I DO NOT TRUST Satin guys. I know everyone loves him but if Jon were drugged, Satin always provided the drinks. Maybe I'm reaching too far, but that's just my gut feeling. Satin is Judas.
Cerci Lannister had plans on taking Jon off the Chess Board as well, so there is no telling if she orchestrated the whole thing or not. Whatever happens, it's gonna be real UGLY when Jon wakes up. Jon Snow as we knew him is definitely DEAD and died in the snow. The real BEAST is what we will have left of Jon. He will make the Hound look like a little poodle dog.
I do also believe he will be in those woods as Ghost while Sansa is being chased by Ramsay's hounds. He will definitely kill them all including whomever is with the dogs. There was a passage in the books if I remember correctly how when Ghost was a pup, and he was eating. A dog approached to try and steal his prize. Jon said the Dog was much bigger than Ghost, but all Ghost had to do was look at her and she ran away. Ghost got right back to his prize.
I've always wondered if that was a foreshadowing for Ghost fighting the hounds. Another thing, WHERE do Ghost go when Jon wonders of his whereabouts? Well, I'm almost done here Jonsa family. I hope I'm not boring you guys to death with this long book of a post I am writing.
I DO believe Sansa is the Girl in Grey and I'll die by that. I also think that after Ghost!Jon saves her, Brianne and Jamie or Brianne and Company will get her to Castle Black. The dying horse in my opinion is not a real Horse. It could be a person. We've already had the real dying horse with Alyas. Sansa doesn't have to be dressed in Grey either because so many other things links her to Grey.
I remember she had a green cloak in Kings Landing that belonged to the hound and if I'm not mistaken she also got on the boat with LF with that cloak on. Where is it? I do not know.
Anyway, Sansa will arrive at Castle Black shortly after Jon wakes up from his coma (refuse to believe he died and actual death) People will SAY he rose from the dead as they did Sansa when she left Kings Landing. It will be a myth, but people will believe it. Jon will NOT be the same. I believe he will have all of his memories which preserved in Ghost but he will become "THE BEAST" After he has "killed the boy." He would have tapped into his powers and possibly converse with Bran and Bloodraven.
Jon will probably forget what happened in the woods and in his wolf dreams but he will have the shock of his life to see Sansa Stark of ALL people come through those gates. She's come to the end of the world to seek HIM out. He will realize it was the wrong sister he almost got murdered behind.
Everyone will fear him at Castle Black. He will be a cold blooded killer with no humanity left until she walks through those gates. It's a craving Jon had (to see her again) but he kept that to himself. We know this from Ygritte, Alays and Val. He was looking for Sansa in all these women, and now the real deal stands right before him.
I'm not saying it's going to be an easy journey, but she will be the ONLY ONE to calm the beast. Jon will protect her of course (or steal her) but he will be mean to Sansa at first. He will eventually fall madly in love with her and vice versa. She will sing to him, annoy him, anger him, pacify him and Jon won't know what hit him.
They will fall in love because of what they both endured. Jon will be OVER protective of Sansa in the books, possibly locking her up in a tower like Stannis has Val, but this time there is a real princess in the tower that Jon WANTS to steal. I know I've reached my limits here. I am sorry for rambling or any errors, I'm just so happy to have ran across you fine people. If I didn't tag someone is because I don't remember the names and I'm still fairly new on Tumblr.
You guys are the BEST!

beau greer (32) - librarian/cam boy | bisexual | drew starkey fc comes across very serious and quiet due to the nature of his work but absolutely unhinged in his free time xoxox naturally self-destructive and constantly pushing boundaries (sexually, emotionally, physically, etc.) just to see if he can !! live fast die young yk the drill
brianne barlowe (30) - personal stylist | bisexual | sarah catherine hook fc absolutely too rich to be kind to anyone not worshipping her !!! blonde rich bitch w/ a god complex and a tendency to act out when she's bored (which is pretty often) - approach at your own risk
carmen navarro (24) - exotic dancer | bisexual | nicole wallace fc former white trash turned would-be prima ballerina !!! unfortunately couldn't keep up w/ the $$$ for her lessons so she made a quick pivot to stripping as one does <333 never lost that ego tho very much thinks she's more talented than any other girl in the room, takes her dancing VERY seriously but also throws fits when things don't go her way whoops
declan bain (52) - ghost writer | bisexual | ewan mcgregor fc former child prodigy turned recluse !! absolutely hates socializing or being perceived in general so he switched from writing his own books to writing other people's xox very observant tho somehow manages to capture the human experience v well despite never participating !! also touch starved (shocker)
kiara obi (28) - caterer | bisexual | ayo edebiri fc big time frantic hummingbird energy this girl CANNOT sit still for the life of her. always moving/talking/walking f a s t and doesn't really make time for anyone to keep up w/ her.... unsurprisingly very socially awkward and blunt and doesn't understand why that's a problem :' )))
lenore acosta (35) - seamstress | bisexual | nathalie emmanuel fc very holistic very peace love and joy..... also v clingy and maybe not the best w/ boundaries (i.e. she doesn't respect them) but like !!! so cute so sunshine until she keys your car bc you didn't text her back for forty-five minutes even though she knows you read it <333
luca rosen (48) - priest/con-man | heterosexual | jon bernthal fc think harold hill a la the music man genuinely just moves from town to town looking for a way to scam as many people as possible and get the fuck outta dodge before they can catch on <333 currently working as a priest and he likes corrupting his flock almost as much as he likes pocketing the collection plate at the end of his 'sermon'
marcella locardi (40) - entertainment lawyer | bisexual | cristin milioti fc VERY good at what she does god can this woman argue.... absolutely not above pulling underhanded stunts in court for her clients and subsequently has never lost a case !! and if she sleeps with a client here or there or everywhere what of it??? genuinely believes the rules do not apply to her (might even think she's immortal??? depends if she's taken her meds)
remi tahara (27) - twitch streamer | bisexual | nico hiraga fc just a DOPE a loser a sweet puppy..... does what he's told without questioning it bc people are usually right and he's usually wrong!!! went viral for doing jackass level stunts his chat suggested which is not his f a v o r i t e thing but he loves how excited the audience gets when he's streaming from the ER so.......... he's gonna keep doin it
taran lowe (22) - vagabond/photographer | bisexual | louis partridge fc very laurie (little women) coded he's just coasting on his late grandad's money and traveling the world collecting lovers like infinity stones (and somehow dodging stds ??? lord knows how) very much comes and goes as he pleases and doesn't get why that's an issue !!!! will probably never love anyone as much as he loves himself his freedom but he sure is convincing w/ those flowery promises he likes to handout

My two cents about Brianne:
I had a fundie roommate in college who was actively upset about being there, but ended up graduating with a degree. She was the first woman in her family to go to college, and the first one to not be married by the age of 20, and these were not things that she was proud of. She did eventually get married to a man who was a student in a class she TA'd at a Christian school, and by the looks of it, definitely started dating while he was a minor (and possibly while she was still an active authority figure over him).
I just think it's very possible that Brianne went to college as a sort of last resort to find a husband, and failed. She found a church that aligned with her beliefs, knowing that belonging to it would be another chance at finding a husband, and got lucky. From what I understand, her choices for a partner in that world aren't very large- it's either a kid who hasn't gotten the chance to get married, or someone who is divorced/widowed, likely with children.
Regardless I agree: fuck her, the weirdo.
Yea that could totally be possible, bc otherwise it's kind of confusing why she'd care about college in the first place. But I wonder why she'd choose a liberal arts school of all places if that's the case when she could've gone to a Bible college and found a better chance at nabbing the bigot boy of her dreams? Unless she wasn't as conservative back then (on her LinkedIn it says she went to a 2 year school from 2016-2018 which was awhile ago to be fair).
She's made a point to say in Facebook comments that as far as community/relationships go, she's looking for Christians with "high standards of separation" (extreme rules about dress and lifestyle) who only read the KJV, which really narrows down her options for churches, husbands, everything, even in the world of Baptists. So it's not crazy to me that as a Floridian, she heard about Nathan's church in a Facebook group or something and actively sought it out, because that's pretty much a guarantee that church will live up to all of her standards.
Yea idk she's kind of a mystery, but looking at her hobbies and choices, it really just feels like she's a bigot who choose this lifestyle because she feels most at home around other judgemental, hateful people, and for that reason, she can go fuck herself 1000 times.

DA Review Series: Tevinter Nights
<<< Previous Review: Absolution
I've read this anthology once before, and I'm happy to say it holds up beautifully on a re-read. Since this features multiple stories, I'm going to review the whole work, and then do little reviews of each individual tale.
Title: Tevinter Nights Editors: Chris Bain, Trick Weekes, Matthew Goldman, and Christopher Morgan Year Published: 2020 In-World Year: ~9:45+ Verdict: Required reading. This is a fantastic look at the state of Thedas after Trespasser, as well as an introduction to a few of our companions and factions in Veilguard. If you only consume one piece of tie-in content leading up to release day, make it this one.
Tumblr media
Tevinter Nights is a collection of short stories all set after the fall of Ventus. We meet Strife and Irelin, Evka Ivo and Antoine, Lucanis and Illario Dellamorte, Andarateia Cantori and Viago de Riva, Emmrich and Manfred, and Neve Gallus, among others. We also see all of our factions — Inquisition, Lords of Fortune, Veil Jumpers, Shadow Dragons, Antivan Crows, the Mourn Watch, and the Grey Wardens. This book really feels like a primer for the next game and is a ton of fun. I enjoyed my second reading as much as the first!
1. Title: Three Trees to Midnight Author: Trick Weekes Verdict: Set in the aftermath of the invasion of Ventus, this story feels like the perfect jumping off point. It picks up from the comics and introduces us to the Veil Jumpers and Arlathan Forest — a very exciting first story for longtime fans.
2. Title: Down Among the Dead Men Author: Sylvia Feketekuty Verdict: Undead murder mystery, what's not to love? Plus, we meet Emmrich and Manfred and it's absolutely adorable. And, I'll be honest, I'd do anything for Audric. This story makes the Mourn Watch seem pretty darn cool.
3. Title: The Horror of Hormak Author: John Epler Verdict: Absolute nightmare fuel. If you're worried that Veilguard isn't going to be dark enough... Read this story. A pair of Wardens are investigating a missing unit, and discover a very messed up underground lab of some sort. This story very much gave that same creeping dread as meeting the Broodmother in DAO. And if I have one fear for Veilguard, it's a Broodmother in 4k.
4. Title: Callback Author: Lukas Kristjanson Verdict: Heartbreaking. But also a really moving farewell to Skyhold. I love this story even though it kills me. In fact, I loved it enough to write some fanfic revolving around it! That's how good it is.
5. Title: Luck in the Gardens Author: Sylvia Feketekuty Verdict: This story introduces us to the Lords of Fortune faction. Hollix takes a job from none other than Dorian Pavus (and we see him with Mae!!!) to find out what's been hunting people in the docks. And it's uhhhh not anything you might expect. We see more evidence of gross, tentacled, briny-blooded monsters lurking underground. Again, things are getting real messed up in Thedas y'all.
6. Title: Hunger Author: Brianne Battye Verdict: In another throwback to Origins, werewolves are back babeyyy! This time a pair of Wardens (Evka Ivo and Antoine) are on their way back to Weisshaupt when they come across a cursed village. The pair decide to lend a hand and quickly realize they might have taken on more than they bargained for...
7. Title: Murder by Death Mages Author: Caitlin Sullivan Kelly Verdict: More Mortalitasi in this one. We get a peek at Nevarran politics, a brief glimpse of Cassandra, and more insight into the Mortalitasi. I will say, this is probably my least favorite story in the collection. While it showed Inquisition agent Sidony's power, it didn't really come together for me plot-wise.
8. Title: Streets of Minrathous Author: Brianne Battye Verdict: Helloooo Neve Gallus! This is an utterly stunning introduction to our private detective companion. A great noir-style tale that confirms that the Venatori are very much still a problem in Tevinter.
9. Title: The Wigmaker Job Author: Courtney Woods Verdict: Oh man. This is one of my favorite stories. There's just so much to love here! Lucanis and Illario are great together (I fell in love with Lucanis here and have rooted for him to be a companion since I first read it). The action sequences are great, and again, some real nasty, dark things are happening in Thedas.
10. Title: Genitivi Dies in the End Author: Lukas Kristjanson Verdict: This story is So. Much. Fun! It's also a pretty deep cut for fans, featuring Brother Ferdinand Genitivi (from DAO) and Philliam, a Bard!, as well as a few references to the Randy Dowager. All figures you'll only know if you are a lore hound in Inquisition. We also meet another Lord of Fortune and get a fun romp into elven ruins. What's not to love?
11. Title: Herold Had the Plan Author: Ryan Cormier Verdict: More Lords of Fortune, this time stealing an artifact from the Grand Tourney in Starkhaven. We also see Vaea and Ser Aaron at the end, which was a nice little treat. I will say though, this one had me a bit misty-eyed by the end. I usually want to see more of characters I love, but I hope Bharv retires to his farm and never treasure hunts again. Man has earned it.
12. Title: An Old Crow's Old Tricks Author: Arone Le Bray Verdict: After a troop of Tevinter soldiers attack a Dalish clan to make way for their camp, the Dalish seek revenge. That vengeance comes in the from of an old woman named Lessef. Watching her decimate the soldiers was gruesome good fun, and I cheered each time she said "Lessef of the Antivan Crows has fulfilled the contract."
13. Title: Eight Little Talons Author: Courtney Woods Verdict: This is the longest of the stories (I'd probably consider it a novelette) and it is maybe my favorite. I love a good whodunnit, and this one has a remote lake house, Antivan Crows, murders that replicate historically famous assassinations, AND sexual tension through the roof! We are formally introduced to Andarateia Cantori and Viago de Riva in this story, though we can infer from the text that they are the unnamed Crows we met in the comic Deception. I love them and NEED them to kiss on screen on Veilguard, okay?????
14. Title: Half Up Front Author: John Epler Verdict: It's hard to follow up Teia and Viago, but this little heist story is good fun. We see Gatt, and go to Kont-Arr! We also learn that the Agents of Fen'Harel are uhhhh real intense, Solas is after yet another artifact, and his feud with the Qunari is alive and well. We also learn that Dorian hired the narrator of this story to steal something from the Archon(?!) and at the end Gatt suggests the narrator and her girlfriend Irian head to Kirkwall to meet Varric. So, I guess we'll see if they show up in Veilguard?
15. Title: The Dread Wolf Take You Author: Trick Weekes Verdict: Look. As a Solavellan, I was never going to be normal about this story. I remember screaming (and crying) the first time I read it. It's a really interesting look at some different groups around Thedas, including the Carta, the Mortalitasi, and the Executors. We get to see Charter again, and she mentions Tessa! But the real gem here is that Solas himself shows up, and he somehow manages to break my heart all over again all while leaving me we more questions than answers. What an absolute banger of an ending for this anthology!

I think the majority of hotd fans (who likes the show) are people who haven't read the book, which is kind of okay, back in the days of Game of Thrones, there were a lot of people who didn't read the book, but now there are also a lot of people who, like Sara Hess, didn't even watch the original show and aren't thrilled with it. Among them are many Rhaenyra x Alicent stans. They just don't care about the plot or why some things in this show don't work, they just want to see their ship on the screen, and they all don't understand that in Martin's world, all the characters are gray and what the writers made out of the show "villains vs. heroes" is a bad script.
Hotd fandom is different than Got fandom and different than Asoiaf. Sometimes they converge but, media is processed differently when it comes out to when it ended.
Everyone loved Tyrion and hated Cersei when the show was going, pre-Brianne Jaime has hated. But when you go to twitter now. Is quite the opposite. Fans of Got and Hotd loves her for some reason. I think teen green now is hated, and you right, most fans now see as villains vs heroes. But when everything is done, I think in retrospective people will change their minds.
I mean just go to YouTube, where the normies mostly consume media. people love Aegon after this season and that is not even his big moment yet. Daeron is also coming up. So fans perspective already start to change.

@bugcutstherug : “I just want to catch up on my reading.” From Eden | THINGS MY FRIENDS’ MUSES HAVE SAID ᠂ ⚘ ˚
The outpost contains no more than two rickety thatched roof buildings seated on stilts, half hovering above the ocean water, a precarious-looking deck to unload supplies by boat, and various red-colored paraphernalia and graffiti marking territory as ownership of Mister Montenegro’s Pirates. Told to wait by her trusted escort, a need to refuel their jeep before continuing, Brianne ventures over to find shade at the side of the larger of the two huts.
Recognition of the young buzzcut blonde, Eden Seed, brightens her sunglass-occluded gaze. Without hesitation, the courier makes a beeline to the familiar pirate. A book sits open on her lap, prompting an extension of Brianne’s greeting.
“Hello, Miss Seed.” A smile accompanies her gait as she readily acknowledges one of the few occupants she believes she can play friendly with sans repercussion — even if she gathers that Eden might find her presence a bit tiresome. Either way, there's no plan to linger too long in her space. “Looks like you're keeping yourself occupied?”
“I just want to catch up on my reading.”
“That’s a good strategy to pass the time.” Something Brianne employs herself when the afternoons stretch and the charges on her electronics die. With shade meeting her face, oversized sunglasses are lifted to rest atop her head.
“What are you reading, if you don't mind me asking?”

MEET GREER’S CHILDHOOD FRIEND - THE MISCREANT.
{ FACECLAIM, AGE, GENDER, PRONOUNS } Is that FIRST NAME LAST NAME? A JUNIOR/SENIOR originally from HOMETOWN, they decided to come to Ogden College to study MAJOR. They’re THE MISCREANT on campus, but even they could get blamed for Greer’s disappearance.
ABOUT THIS SKELETON: At what point did THE GOLDEN GIRL turn to gold ?? Or was she always this way ?? If anyone knows the truth, THE MISCREANT would, growing up as closely with Greer as they did. In fact, they probably know a lot of her secrets. But not where she went - The Miscreant “disappeared” (read: rehab) for a semester too. And coming back from a “mysterious” semester off in college is hard even at the most normal of times. With one student missing and another dead, The Miscreant has no idea what they’re walking into. At least they can’t be blamed for this….or can they ??
MAJOR PLOT POINTS THUS FAR:
Another disappearance from Ogden College - though this one didn’t seem to leave much a mystery. Everyone expected THE MISCREANT to have to go to rehab (type of rehab/program utp - behavioral/addiction/health reasons/etc) at some point, so truly - this was no big surprise. The timing paralleling THE GOLDEN GIRL’s disappearance certainly raised some questions, though.
When the Commons was set ablaze during commencement weekend, a group of students had been lured there by G. THE MISCREANT found themselves on the first floor, shortly before THE SIREN....fell.
SUGGESTED FCS:
Luka Sabbat, Anthony Keyvan, Aramis Knight, Aron Piper, Brianne Tju, Adeline Rudolph, Malia Pyles, Hunter Schafer, Lana Condor, Ruby O. Fee, Chase Sui Wonders, Jenna Ortega, Tyla, Fernando Lindez, Fin Argus, Jeff Satur
CHECK OUT OUR WANTED CONNECTIONS !!!
SUGGESTED CONNECTIONS BELOW THE CUT
THE MISCREANT grew up with all the same people THE GOLDEN GIRL did… but perhaps the one they have the most in common with is THE UNFAVORITE. Nothing like being the family’s black sheep, right ??
THE HEDONIST and THE MISCREANT always managed to bring out the worst in each other in the past…depending on who you were asking. THE GOLDEN GIRL never seemed to think it was all that bad, rather the opposite - she encouraged it.
Is that THE GIRL NEXT DOOR hanging with THE MISCREANT now that they’re back on Ogden’s campus ?? What a scandal that could be. But THE GOLDEN GIRL always managed to get away with it, and they all grew up together so…why shouldn’t The Girl Next Door ??
THE ERUDITE STONER and THE SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT certainly weren’t exactly hurting without THE MISCREANT on campus last semester - but they won’t turn away the return of their business. Though the added worry of how much The Miscreant advertises for them isn’t always great - at least they could count on THE GOLDEN GIRL to keep their secrets.
Did THE FALLEN PRINCESS and THE MISCREANT ever make sense as a pair ?? Not quite, but with THE GOLDEN GIRL - her best friend - missing, The Fallen Princess is more than due to spiral out. And now they have just the partner in crime to do so back on campus. Or maybe she’ll be a good influence. Never worked before, though.
THE HOMEGROWN HERO could never do any wrong. With THE MISCREANT, the ultimate bad influence, back on campus maybe it’s time for that to change. Because if The Homegrown Hero is trying to follow in the steps of Greer, well.... THE GOLDEN GIRL definitely never shied away from misbehaving.
THE EXCHANGE STUDENT and THE MISCREANT both weren't on campus last fall, when everyone discovered THE GOLDEN GIRL was missing. Does that make them more or less suspicious ?? Well, only they can really know that.
THE BIG MAN ON CAMPUS and THE MISCREANT could’ve been set up to be best friends from childhood, a pair that could do no wrong. But, they went different paths, and somehow always ended up at odds, rivals for, among many other things, THE GOLDEN GIRL’s attention.

WYATT ABHRAMS is looking for his SIBLINGS (2 SISTERS AND 1 BROTHER). For more details and how to contact the player, read below.
THIS CONNECTION (3/3) ARE TAKEN.
Character Name: Wyatt Abhrams
Connection Name: Liam Abhrams (brother), Olivia Abhrams (sister), Scarlett Abhrams (sister)
Age Range: 36-30 with Scarlett being 32-30, and Liam and Olivia depending on who is older being 36-34 and 32-34 respectively.
Type of Connection: Siblings (Younger Brother, Younger Sister 1, Younger Sister 2)
Suggested Faceclaims: I'm really bad with faceclaim suggestions so I'm not really tied to any one FC and will be happy with whoever you feel fits the character best. A few suggestions below based on my very limited knowledge of FCs!
Olivia - Emily Vancamp, Brie Larson, Rebecca Rittenhouse, UTP TAKEN
Liam - Dan Stevens, Hunter Parrish, Glen Powell, UTP TAKEN
Scarlett - Lili Reinhart, Elizabeth Lail, Brianne Howey, UTP TAKEN
Details:
The Abhrams are pretty much political royalty in Covington. From the time the town started, every generation in the Abhrams family has run and won their mayoral bid every single time. Benjamin Abhrams, the siblings' father, also went into politics. They were a pretty happy family so long as Benjamin was winning the elections he was running for. He was a bit self-absorbed (as politicians often are) and rather absent in terms of parenting. He wasn't a bad father the times he was there, but he was not that connected to his children. He was more of a floater in their lives in those initial days, spending time with them during his euphoric highs, but holing himself away from the family during most of the other times. He lost his second mayoral bid and that shook him to his core. He was the first in the entire line of Abhrams to have lost. After two years, in an interim election after the mayor at the time stepped down, he won again and he was positive that the previous loss had been a fluke. When he ran in the following election, he lost once more and that changed the course of the Abhrams family.
Benjamin got really touchy about everything because he felt like a failure. He started to take it out on his children, mostly Wyatt for the time that he was there because Wyatt's temper matched their fathers at the time. The others still received some level of his anger too, and after Wyatt left, he doesn't really know too much about how his father behaved. Anytime the conversation went towards him, Wyatt would redirect the conversation away. In May 2023, Benjamin went missing which has shaken the family, especially their mother. They have no idea where he has gone but rumors were that he was considering another go at the upcoming mayoral election before his disappearance.
In terms of the siblings, I like to let the player sort of shape the muse as they see fit. I imagine that after Wyatt left, things didn't improve completely but probably got a bit better. I imagine that Benjamin tried to push Liam towards politics and considering running for something in town down the line as well. Scarlett would have been the one who saw the least of their father's best days. Olivia I imagine was their mother's favorite because she took on a caretaker role while their mother tried to handle their father over the years.
I'd really love to have the siblings around so if you're interested, please reach out to me here!!
