His carefully crafted web.
Will Graham x Graham!reader x Hannibal Lecter
Summary: Hannibal wants both the Grahams to himself. He begins to spin his web of lies to get them crawling right to him.
Warning: Manipulation and gaslighting!!
Author's note: You can't look at this gif and be like "That's platonic love." LOOK AT IT! Also- I wanna write just a Hannibal x reader but my mind is blanking so hard.
Masterlist
........................................................
Jack Crawford led the Grahams to the crime scene, letting their eyes wander over the dead body in front of them.
Neither were easily mortified at vicious killings anymore.
After all, she was their head biologist, and Will was their reconstruction specialist.
But the dead body in front of them sent a small shiver down the woman's spine.
Will noticed and placed a gentle hand on her back. "You alright?"
She nods, "M'fine."
Jack nods at the two, "Do your thing, Will." And he walks out of the house, leaving the two Grahams alone.
Y/N bends down to the body, "This girl drowned on her own blood. That gives you something to go off of." She stands and gives her husband a sweet kiss on the cheek, "I'll be just outside."
He reaches out and grabs her hand, "Stay?"
Her eyebrows furrow, "I thought you do this best alone?"
"I do, but you help me think. Just… you being near helps me. It… brings me back to reality when I get too lost. Just promise me you'll stay?"
She was at a loss for words, "I… yes… of course."
He nods and closes his eyes, taking deep breaths.
…
"You said that to her?" Hannibal asks Will.
"Yeah, and I meant it too. I've been so worried about not coming out of the daze. She… she keeps me away from making my own design."
"And what happens when she can't help you anymore?"
Will sits up, "what do you mean?"
Hannibal blinks, "There may come a day that she can't help you anymore. What if you hurt her?"
Will loses color in his face, "No, I wouldn't do that."
The doctor shrugs, "How do you know?"
"I just won't." He looks up unsure, "Hannibal, that won't happen, right?"
Hannibal sighs, "I can't guarantee it, Will. You and I both know that."
Will sits back and runs a hand over his face. How could he be so stupid to not think about that? What if he wakes up from his daze to be covered in her blood?
He doesn't think he'd be able to live.
"Just promise me, Will. If something happens, anything, that you'll come to me. I can protect you. And her."
Will nods like it's obvious.
…
Hannibal had a plan in motion. He always does.
And he wanted the Grahams.
He knew that they were attached at the hip, practically an extension of the other. So in order to gain their trust, he'd have to break them apart.
But he knew he could always get them back together once they were his.
So, getting under Will's skin was the first step.
And it was too easy.
Hannibal was beginning to spin his little web.
Now, to get Will's wife.
…
"Y/N, may I speak with you?" Hannibal asked the biologist.
She looked up from her microscope in the lab, "Hannibal? You're the last person I expected to see. I'm pleased, don't get me wrong."
He smiled, "I understand. I'm just worried about you."
"Me?" She scoffs lightly, "Why are you worried for me?"
He steps up to her, letting his voice drop, "Has Will ever… laid his hands on you?"
She blinked, "What?"
"Has he hurt you?"
Y/N stepped away from his in suspicion. "No. Will would never. Why are you pointing fingers, Hannibal?"
Hannibal sighs as sets his blazer over a chair. "I'm worried that he's become unstable."
She nods, "He is but he's getting better. That doesn't put me at risk."
His eyebrow raised, "It doesn't?"
Suddenly, she wasn't so sure.
"No, it… Will… he… um… Hannibal, I don't understand."
He steps a bit closer now, their faces inches apart, "If he lays a hand on you, or hurts you in any way, I want to be the first to know. I would never let him touch you."
She tilts her head, "Hannib-"
"-No more. I need a promise, Y/N."
She shakes her head, "It won't happen."
He reaches forward and brushes hair behind her ear, "Your promise, Graham."
"I promise?"
He nods, "Good girl."
And with that, he grabs his jacket and leaves.
…
Now, the Grahams were avoiding each other.
Neither wanted to talk out their recent feelings with the psychiatrist.
And Hannibal could not be more pleased.
Both came practically crawling to him.
And he welcomed them with feigned surprise and open arms.
…
A few months and many manipulative talks later, he had them trained exactly how he wanted them.
Hannibal came home and set his bag down gently, "Y/N?" His voice rang out.
She floated down the stairs happily, "You're home early!"
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist, "I wanted to see you two as quickly as I could."
Will rounded the corner, "Oh. I didn't hear you come in, Hannibal."
Hannibal's smile only grew, "When you read, you're in another world, dear Will."
The two share a gently kiss.
Will pulls Y/N away from Hannibal's arms to wrap his own around the girl.
"I've been thinking," Hannibal says. He states it as if it's a new thought, and not one he had planned since the day he met the pair, "I feel a bit left out. You're both the Grahams."
Will places a kiss on the woman's neck and then looks up at Hannibal, "Oh, did you want to be a Graham, too, Hannibal? We can make that happen."
"No," Hannibal said with a smirk as he stared at the beautiful couple in front of him- the couple that lived in his home, ate his dinners he created, and slept beside him every night. The couple that belonged to him. "I believe the Lecters are more elegant. Don't you, darling?" He looks at Y/N.
Her lips pull into a line and she looks up at Will, "The Lecters? Will?"
Will was already beaming, "The Lecters. I've never been more sure of anything in my life, Hannibal."
Hannibal smiled.
…
He had spun his web slowly and meticulously, paying attention to every detail.
And the two little bugs known as the Grahams had landed right in it unknowingly.
After all, the spider was very charming.

Previous chapter Next chapter
They reached Wakanda by midday. As the stairs opened they were immediately surrounded by the Dora Milaje and a team of doctors that hoisted Y/N onto a gurney and Bucky walked alongside holding her hand until they reached the surgery area of their medical wing. “I’m sorry, Sergeant Barnes, you cannot come past this point,” Ayo instructed him.
Bucky nodded unhappily and quickly turned to Y/N, leaning down until his face was hovering just over her face. “I’m gonna be right out here waiting for you,” he promised. The first tears started to fall out of the corners of her eyes as she nodded. “Hey, pretty girl,” he said, trying to get her to look at him. Y/N met his gaze, and his heart broke for the pain he could see swimming in her eyes. “You, me, and a cocktail in Monaco,” he smiled sadly at her.
Y/N giggled at the inside joke they made for a vacation after successful missions, though it came out a little garbled as she started to choke up. “Me, you, and a beer in Malta.”
“Sounds perfect,” he chuckled wetly as his own tears started to fall. Y/N squeezed his hand before the doctors started pushing the gurney through the doors. Ayo let Bucky watch her until she was out of sight and then led him to the bedrooms. The room that Shuri’s family had made for him, even though he rarely used it even when he was there, was still just as he’d left it.
“Get yourself cleaned up, rest, and we’ll come let you know when she’s out of surgery,” she said quietly.
“Enkosi,” Bucky replied.
Ayo looked at him for a moment, clapping his shoulder then leaving. Once the door was closed behind her he made his way to the bathroom. As he stripped out of his dirty, torn clothes and got in the shower he let the events of the day finally wash over him. He cried heavily at the loss of Y/N’s baby, how it didn’t matter what he’d tried or done, he couldn't save them all. He cried over the exhaustion of yet another government entity chasing him, and he still didn’t know why. Another fight, another battle, another loss. He cried for Y/N and how much she had to endure, and would endure, from this day forward. He loved her as a friend and a partner, and trusted her with his life. He loved her as more, and had been wanting more, but she didn’t need that right now. When he was done he got dressed in the clothes provided for him, then walked back down to the waiting area near the med bay.
A couple of hours later a doctor came out with Shuri. “She’s doing well,” he informed Bucky. “We were able to remove the baby without further complications. She is in recovery now.”
“Can I see her?” Bucky asked, glancing at Shuri.
“Yes,” the doctor replied. “She’s not fully awake yet.”
“I’ll come with you,” Shuri said. She led him through the med bay to one of the adjoining rooms. Y/N was laying on the bed, slightly propped up, dressed in a medical gown with an IV in her hand, looking like they had bathed her. She was asleep, her breathing heavy as Bucky walked to her, pulling the chair by the wall over so he could sit next to the bed. He reached out and held her hand, his thumb rubbing her knuckles gently. She only had a few bruises and cuts from the crash, but her belly was no longer large, only a slight bump left. He fought off another wave of tears. Shuri walked to the other side of her, taking her other hand. “You are both welcome to stay here as long as you need,” she said quietly.
“Thank you,” Bucky said. “Do you know what’s happening?”
Shuri sighed and folded her arms. “The American government has fallen. Like S.H.I.E.L.D. all those years ago.”
“Was it Hydra?” he asked.
“No. It’s an invasion of a species called the Skrulls.”
Bucky sighed. He’d been informed of this alien species that had turned up on Earth many years ago, and the possibility that some of them may attempt to overthrow governments and take over, but none of it had been confirmed as far as he knew. Obviously the invasion had begun. “It’s not just the American government, is it?” he asked.
Shuri nodded. “Britain, France, Germany, Russia, North Korea, Japan, China, and parts of South America have been compromised. We’re not sure who to trust.”
Bucky rubbed his temple with his free hand. “Have you heard from anyone else yet?”
“Yes. Most of the remaining Avengers have reached out in some capacity. We have locked down everything here, but they are still planning on meeting in Sibiu before making any other further preparations. We are also being monitored very heavily. I could get you to Sibiu, but that’s about it at the moment without raising suspicion,” she said, sounding tired.
“What a shitshow,” Y/N whispered.
Shuri and Bucky turned sharply to look at her. “Hey, pretty girl,” Bucky smiled, standing so he could be eye to eye with her.
Y/N gave him a small smile, her eyes fluttering. “Heya, hot stuff,” she smirked, making him chuckle. She looked at Shuri. “Hi sweetie,” she breathed.
Shuri took a step forward and smiled at her. “Hello love,” she said quietly. “How are you feeling?”
“Like I was in a car crash,” Y/N said, cocking an eyebrow.
Shuri chuckled as she pushed on one of her Kimoyo beads. “I’m sure.”
The next moment the doctor came back in. “Miss Y/L/N,” he greeted her as he walked up next to Shuri. He gave her a pitiful smile, gently poking and prodding her in different areas and checking her over. “Everything went well. I’m very sorry for your loss. We wanted to wait until you were awake to ask if you wanted to see the baby before…” he drifted off, unsure how to proceed.
Bucky squeezed Y/N’s hand as her eyebrows knitted together. Her free hand moved to her stomach, where it was noticeably smaller than before. She shut her eyes tight and bit her lower lip. He leaned down and awkwardly hugged her, his face in the crook of her neck. “Whatever you choose, I will support you. I’m here for you,” he whispered into her ear. Y/N nodded, her hand moving up to pat his hair.
“Can I just…can I just see him?” she asked quietly, swallowing harshly.
“Yes,” the doctor said, turning to the nurse by the door who nodded.
Bucky stayed next to Y/N, Shuri moving to be by the head of the bed as the same nurse came back a minute later looking sad and holding a small bundle in her arms. She walked over and Y/N sat up more, wincing slightly.
“Would you like to hold him, Miss Y/L/N?” the nurse asked quietly.
Y/N stared at the blanket in her arms for a moment before slowly nodding her head. She opened her arms and the nurse settled the baby into them. Y/N sat back and held him against her chest, staring at him as her tears silently fell. Bucky looked down at the tiny human in her arms, marveling at just how small he was. He looked almost completely normal except for the muted shade of his skin, like he was just sleeping. No one spoke, no one moved, as they all let her have the moment with her son.
“Isn’t he beautiful, Buck?” Y/N whispered.
Bucky nodded and sniffed as he looked down at them. “Yes,” he said. “Just like his Mama.”
Y/N huffed a laugh as she reached a hand up and traced his face with her finger softly. “You know, I was gonna name him Grant, after Steve’s middle name?” she mused. Bucky sucked in a sharp breath. She had never disclosed what she wanted to name him, saying she hadn’t decided yet, but she had been wanting to surprise Bucky with honoring his best friend. She had also been friends with Steve before he left, and he was touched that she thought so highly of him. “Grant James Y/L/N…my son…” she whispered. Bucky sniffled at the use of his first name. Y/N looked up at him and smiled through her tears. “Thank you for taking such good care of us, Buck,” she sighed, then looked down at Grant one more time before kissing his nose. She looked at the nurse and gave him back to her. The nurse nodded to Y/N then the doctor and walked back out with Grant. Y/N watched until they were out of sight, then turned on her side facing Bucky, grabbing his hand tightly and bringing it close to her face. “When do we leave?” she asked quietly, squeezing his hand and keeping her eyes shut tight.
Bucky’s brow furrowed at her question. “We don’t need to leave yet, Y/N. We can figure all that out later–”
“When do we leave?” Y/N asked again, more firmly this time.
Bucky looked at the doctor. “We’d like to keep you overnight at least, just to monitor your progress, otherwise everything looks like it’s mostly superficial cuts and bruises that should heal fine. We can give you a solution to help dry up any milk that comes in, but you may still get some, and you will still bleed for a few weeks until your body heals from being pregnant,” he said matter-of-factly. “But we can send anything you need with you when you’re ready to leave.”
“Okay. Thank you,” she said in a clipped tone, a clear dismissal. The doctor nodded and gave a deeper head bow to Shuri before leaving the room.
“I will give you some space,” Shuri said after he left. “I’ll come back later to check on you,” she said, reaching over and squeezing Y/N’s shoulder. Y/N nodded and whispered a thanks as Shuri walked out.
Bucky waited until she left then leaned down again to be eye level with Y/N. She still had her eyes shut, her breaths huffing hot against his knuckles as she tried to keep her composure. He leaned in and kissed her hand, keeping his forehead rested against her’s. Y/N finally opened her eyes and looked at him. He didn’t know what to say, so he stayed quiet, just staring at her, letting her do what she needed to get through the next little while. She stared back at him, the tears building again and her face pinching in pain. She let out a shudder and a sob that she tried to bite back. Bucky’s other hand came up and pushed her hair back, scratching along her scalp, his own tears falling at her pain.
“H-help me,” Y/N cried, gripping his hand with surprising strength.
“What do you need, pretty girl?” Bucky whispered.
“I don’t know!” she wailed. “I…my heart hurts.”
Bucky instantly climbed into the bed with her, which definitely was not big enough for the two of them, but he didn’t care. He maneuvered her so her IV wouldn’t get ripped out, tucking her into his body, holding her as she sobbed against him. Her hands gripped his shirt, her tears soaking it through, her breath heating his chest as his arm cradled her neck and head and the other pulled her into him by her back, her legs tangling with his as he moved one of the blankets over the both of them. He continued whispering whatever he could think of to her, kissing her hair, her forehead then down the side of her face, pulling one of her hands up and kissing it along her knuckles and then over her palm.
“I’m so sorry Mamas,” he said. “I wish I could fix it for you. I tried, I really tried…” he broke down crying with her as she wrapped an arm around his back.
“It’s not your fault. It’s not mine. It’s no one’s but them,” she whispered, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck. “Like I said, you took such good care of me, of us…thank you,” she said, then kissed his jaw. “Thank you…”
They held each other as they cried, mourning the loss of what could have been, but wasn’t meant to be.

Omegaverse Omega Tony in heat?
This isn’t particularly porny, although there is reference to sex, but I just got to thinking about heats and omegas having to plan for them and unusual heats and Stephen being a doctor and this happened. As compensation, at least it’s long? LOL.
Under the cut for a wee bit of smut.
-
Tony’s heats have been extremely irregular since Afghanistan. The specialist said that it was possible, but not guaranteed, that they could return to normal if he avoided stress and took care of himself.
Needless to say, Tony has gotten used to his heats showing up out of nowhere.
For the last few years, he’s had to do less contingency planning, because he had Pepper. She knew the situation and was prepared to help him with his heat on very short notice. He must have gotten a little too out of practice, though, because Tony wakes up one morning in the early stages of pre-heat and realizes abruptly that he doesn’t know who is going to help him with it.
Suppressants, either regular or emergency, are ineffective against the type of hormonal dysregulation Tony has. He needs a heat partner. The absolutely last resort is the emergency heat clinic attached to the hospital, but Tony spent far too many heats there right after Afghanistan. Damn near anything is better than that.
So he lies on his bed and runs through the list of alphas he knows who might help:
Pepper, of course, but that would be complicated. Still, she’d probably do it to save him from going to the clinic.
Steve Rogers. Not in a million years. The clinic is a better option.
Carol Danvers. Off planet.
Peter Parker. No.
Stephen Strange.
Tony thinks on it for a minute, but he actually can’t think of a reason not to ask Stephen. They’re friendly, although not especially close, and Stephen’s a doctor. If anyone could understand Tony’s situation and make an informed decision about whether or not he wanted to help, it was probably him.
“FRIDAY,” Tony says aloud. “Get Stephen on the line for me, would you?”
“Of course, Boss.”
The phone rings for a long time before Stephen picks up. Long enough that Tony starts to worry. But eventually the line clicks open. “Strange.”
Still sprawled on his back, Tony stares up at the ceiling as he speaks. “Hey, Stephen. I’ve got an important favor to ask, but for the love of God, do not agree if it makes you uncomfortable, okay?”
“Okay,” Stephen says slowly.
Tony blows out a short breath. This is not a fun way to proposition someone. “I’ve got some kind of heat dysregulation disorder. I forget the technical name.” He’d forgotten it very much on purpose. “I woke up in pre-heat. Would you be willing to help out?”
There’s a long pause. “Are you combative?” Stephen asks.
His hands, Tony realizes. Maybe magic could make up the difference, but it wouldn’t be worth risking finding out in the middle of a disordered heat. Fortunately, it’s not an issue. “Nah, I don’t run that way,” Tony says. “Penetrative sex is non-optional, though. Multiple rounds.”
“That’s fine, then,” Stephen says, and suddenly his tone is relaxed and casual. Tony is instantly more comfortable, and then grateful picked Stephen. “When do you need me?”
“If you need to make arrangements, I probably have a couple of hours, but to be honest, the sooner you’re here, the easier it’ll be.”
“Supplies?”
“Already taken care of,” Tony assures him. He’d arranged for his usual package as soon as he woke up.
“I’ll be there as soon as I find a Master to keep an eye on the Sanctum,” Stephen promises.
His word is good, and not even thirty minutes later Tony is wrapped up in warm sheets with Stephen, bodies pressed close, Tony’s head resting on Stephen’s shoulder so that he can get some good lungfuls of Stephen’s scent.
Stephen is a remarkably solid, comfortable alpha. Tony hadn’t really thought about what Stephen would be like during a heat—given his options, that hadn’t been a deciding factor—but he finds himself pleasantly surprised. The rumble of Stephen’s voice, the sweet, gentle touches, the way he holds Tony without feeling like he’s restraining him, it all makes Tony’s omega instincts purr in pleasure.
And the sex… well, Tony has always been a proponent of skill over size (he’s made plenty of partners beg for his omega cock), and Stephen is a perfect example. His cock is like the rest of him, long and slender, and when he slides it inside Tony it makes Tony’s eyes roll back.
“There you go,” Stephen murmurs, rolling his hips in smooth, easy thrusts. “Is that what you needed?”
Tony just moans, wrapping his legs tighter around Stephen. Heat sex, unlike regular sex, always tends to send him non-verbal.
It doesn’t seem to matter to Stephen, though. “That’s it, you just relax and let me take care of everything.” He sounds pleased, as if having to do all the work is exactly what he wants.
Maybe it is, because Stephen sets about fucking Tony with a thoroughness that Tony’s not sure he’s ever experienced before. He feels pliant, almost liquid, pleasure rolling through him in overlapping waves. His first orgasm is just another swell above the rest, and Stephen doesn’t pause for a moment, fucking Tony into a second before wringing the last climax out of him with his knot.
They’re knotted face to face, laying on their sides, one of Tony’s legs slung over Stephen’s hips, and Tony nuzzles idly at Stephen’s scent glands. “You are very good at that,” Tony says, flicking his tongue out for a bit of a lick. Stephen taste good, too.
“Good,” Stephen says. “I don’t like doing things poorly.”
Tony chuckles. “Did you study? Ask your partners for performance reviews?”
“I absolutely did,” Stephen says, and he sounds amused, but not like he’s joking. “How else was I supposed to get better? It was surprisingly hard to convince my partners to tell me where I needed improvement, but it paid off.”
“Hmmmm. Remind me to proposition you again when my heat is over.”
“I’ll do that,” Stephen says, stroking a handly slowly up and down Tony’s back.
Tony smiles and lets himself drift, the ebb between waves of heat made warm and comfortable and easy by the alpha.

Test subject Kate. Part 2.
I still don't understand how it all happened. I must have been hit by a car and then taken to the hospital. And then I was transported here. To the place from which I wanted to stay as far as possible.
After waking up, I realized that a plastic tube had been inserted into my throat. However, my attempts to remove it were futile, as my hands were tied to the bed with straps. Soon a nurse appeared and informed me with a smile that I would have to endure this tube for a long time, because without artificial ventilation I would suffocate. She also said that I had been in a coma for several weeks. It's just terrible!
However, it still wasn't the worst of it. Soon she visited me. Dr. Cohen. A person I would like to see behind jail bars, not near my hospital bed. She already knew what information I had and clearly did not want me to ever leave this hospital. The doctor looked at me for a long time, and then began her monologue.
"I must admit that I am a fan of your blog. You were able to collect a lot of delicate facts about our institution. And in this you have significantly surpassed many large and well-known publications. However, you underestimated our security service. They are simply the best... We use the best in this place: equipment, specialists.... Anyway, your informant talked about your interest in our work. And now you're finally here."
I listened to her in shock, unable to utter a single word.
“We should have stopped you before you finished your article. However, I apologize for that incident. Even professionals make mistakes... Everything suddenly went out of control, and you fell into a coma. Therefore, it was a matter of honor for me to engage in your treatment. The last brain surgery was successful, and you finally woke up. Soon the headache will pass, and you will feel better."
I could not believe what I heard! Was she cutting my brain?! What else did they do to me while I was in a coma?
"You need a long rest. Therefore, no visitors will disturb you. According to the documents, you have been recorded as brain dead. The success of our treatment will remain a little secret for now. By the way, the nurse who helped you gather information is in the next room. Soon you will be able to see each other. And I'll leave you for now."
It was too much... I thought about what I heard for a long time and... I have no idea what to do. I am completely helpless and can't even breathe without these tubes and hoses. From now on, I am worried about one single question - what will be done with me next?

I am so fucking pissed right now, I'm going to fucking fist fight my doctor!
I've been seeing this doctor since 2019. She's was okay. Not spectacular, but fine. She wasn't was willing to work with the transgender stuff and didn't (immediately) judge me for my weight. But it turns out she was only okay so long as it wasn't an on going thing she had to address over multiple visits.
Like I spoke to her about my anxiety, she gave me some meds that helped immensely. Once I didn't explode from the meds, it wasn't mentioned again and things were fine.
But then I got super sick for a full fucking YEAR and she wouldn't take it seriously. I've talked about it before, but it started with me asking if maybe I had either fibromyalgia or ME/CFS. They're both disorders of elimination, so she agreed to help me figure it out and started sending me to specialists.
Only a few months into this journey is when I got INTENSELY sick with that cough that wouldn't go away. She noted that my blood pressure was super high, too. It hadn't been during one of my regular checkups and she was the one who noted the correlation between my blood pressure being high when I was sick, but normal when I wasn't. She chalked it up to the effort of coughing making it high. Not the fact that I was also experiencing a chronic shortness of breath. So she gave me a high blood pressure medication collad Losartan and thought it would improve things. It didn't. And all through this my fatigue and cough just kept getting worse.
I got sick in August and it wasn't until the following May that she finally sent me to a pulmonologist (lung doctor) for a cough so intense that it was affecting my bladder control when a super strong coughing fit hit. It was a nightmare. I only got part way through the stupid long history of what I'd done and experienced to figure this cough out, and she stopped me to say it was likely asthma. That fucking fast.
The delay isn't the only reason I'm furious. It's the meds. Losartan didn't do a damn fucking thing to bring my blood pressure down. That only came down back to completely normal once my asthma was under control, because bronchitis had left me in a year long asthma flare. It took about 6 months for it to fully calm down with 2 inhalers and a pill. My cough never fully went away, but it stopped being such a life altering problem.
The only problem was, I still didn't feel better. For a while my fatigue levels improved, but then slowly declined again. I started having trouble sleeping and weird cramps and aches. Then due to a fluke with my pharmacy I didn't have the losartan for over a week. I'd slowly started feeling better but I'd chalked it up to a recent reduction in stress of having settled into a new job. But then taking it again after that break, my health immediately tanked. My back and calves all severely cramped up. Then I remembered something I'd spotted on the bottle (I'd recently changed pharmacies). The label didn't just say Losartan, it said Losartan Pot. Pot as in POTASSIUM. Which was caushing the muscle cramps because I had too much of it in my body.
I then looked up the side effects. Fatigue. Cough. Shortness of breath. Cramps. Are you fucking kidding me?!
I poked around a little more. While losartan isn't outright dangerous for people with asthma, it should not be the first choice for high blood pressure medications due to it causing bronchial spasms.
I stopped taking it immediately. And just a few days later, I feel like a completely different person. A week ago, I could do a single minor chore before I needed to lie down. Cooking a meal would wipe me out completely. Today I've already cleaned up the kitchen and gave the pantry a rough re-organization and partially cleaned up the pile of stuff accumulating around my desk because I was too tired to take care of it before. And I'm nowhere near needing a nap.
But that's not all. Let's rewind to a few weeks before I made this discovery. I finally had a follow up with my doctor following my ashtma diagnosis. She didn't look at my vitals at all, and she certainly didn't compare them to my last visit. My blood pressure came down from nearly hypertensive crisis to pretty much normal, and I'd lost 30 fucking pounds. And she couldn't give a fuck.
I told her about the pulmonologist SHE sent me to, and her response was "So you think you have asthma?" Then she insisted I stay on Losartan. Which I now know was a terrible call to make. I even talked to her about the fact that my fatigue was still keeping me from doing the bare minimum and she just brushed it aside. Like, excause me? That's a big fucking deal and the reason I keep coming to see you. To solve this problem, because this isn't normal! She went so far as to ask why I'd even come in if all I had was to tell her I had asthma. As if that didn't fundamentally alter everything we'd been doing. She then refused to diagnose me with ME/CFS, even though she agreed I likely had it. And had no answers as to what else could be causing my symptoms, but I coud use that "label" if I wanted to. Then proceeded to not include any of that in the notes, but did note that I'd said I'd intentionally not exercised out of spite for a shitty cardiologist she'd sent me to. Like quoted me, verbatim. Nevermind that was how I lost the 30 fucking pounds.
The nail in the coffin, however, is that my sister dealt with the same thing. We ended up with the same doctor by pure chance. She was in constant pain and had constant health issues, and our doctor just refused to do anything about it and kept brushing it off. When my sister finally got to a specialist, it turned out to be a serious issue with her gallbladder that required fucking SURGERY to fix.
I've already started the process with patient relations, and it sounds like they're taking it seriously.
I'm just so fucking furious. This has been such a long fucking journey, and to have a fix work in a matter of days is so surreal.
On the bright side, I can at least finally move on with my life. After being sick for nearly 2 years at this point. I first got sick in August of 2022, catching something that led to bronchitis while sitting with my sister in the ER for her bruised rib (she thought it was broken because a spoiled brat of a kid kicked her in the sternum while throwing a tantrum). It's now May 2024. I managed a lot in that time, but holy fuck.

Doctor Julie Langford, having been a university professor prior to her relocation to Rapture, is no stranger to taking on the role of an authority figure towards those in her life — be that for legitimate reasons (her senior role in the lab, her specialist knowledge in botany, etc.), or just because of sheer happenstance — but this was easily the most enjoyable ‘lesson’ she’d ever had the pleasure of giving.
‘Eyes on me. How can you expect to learn anything if you can’t even pay proper attention to your lesson?’
… even if her dear little lab assistant was being a rather difficult student at the moment.
—————————————
There’s something uniquely mortifying about having your bare pussy be inspected and expertly played with by your supervisor while she forces you to watch and learn from everything she does. There’s also something incredibly arousing about having the brilliant woman you’ve been pining for pleasure you on her immaculately kept work desk while keenly watching just about everything she does with the promise of being able to show off all you’ve learned by returning the favour after she’s had her fill. And those two emotions continued to battle within your hazy mind as you did your best to fight your embarrassment and be a good and eager student for your self-appointed teacher… no matter how hard it may be for you to push through the lingering fog of pleasure and actually focus on her actions.
Doctor Langford’s approach to your pleasure, and consequently to teaching you how to pleasure her, is extremely thorough. She takes her time exploring every millimetre of your quivering cunt from the very start of the bush to your drooling hole and she’s wholly unhurried in her journey to familiarise herself with the look, scent, texture, and eventually the flavour of you — even talking you through every movement she makes with a deceptively clinical tone that does far more to you than it should.
She starts with her fingertips. At first she’s just barely brushing them along the hair that lines the edges of your slit once and then twice and then a third time before she stops her gentle caresses. Then she takes to rolling a few stray strands between her thumb and forefinger as she quietly comments on their texture, pulling just enough to make you jump and make a new flustered sound that she loves but without anywhere near the force it would take to actually hurt you, before relinquishing her gentle grip and moving on.
The next part, she narrates to you in such a way that demands your immediate undivided attention, requires both of her hands so would you please do your best to keep your legs spread nice and wide for her?
‘Good girl,’
She uses her two thumbs to slowly pull your lower lips apart, and you can see her eyes widen as she sees and smells how wet you are for her despite how little she’s done. But her reaction is quite short lived as she’s quick to take in a steadying breath before tracing her index finger along the length of your pussy — watching intently, and insisting you do the same in a tone that leaves no room for argument, as your slick gathers on it as she traces the length of you from the hood of your clit to your dripping entrance. Julie allows herself to sink that one slender finger into your quivering entrance up to the first joint, commenting on how sensitive you are in a way that’s more directed at herself than you, before swiftly pulling out and redirecting her attention to your clit: carefully pulling back the hood with her other index finger before pausing and addressing you once again.
‘Let me know if this gets too overwhelming, okay?’
You hum in agreement and you see her nod in return before quickly removing her glasses and setting them aside on the desk — seemingly either trusting you to not knock them off or just assuming you won’t be moving enough to do that. Either way you don’t comment on it, just shuffling nervously in place and watching as she finally leans so close to you that you can feel her breath tickling against your cunt.
And then comes her tongue: dextrous, flexible, wet, and unexpectedly long as she licks one long, experimental stripe from your aching entrance to your swollen clit and lets out a throaty groan at your flavour (a sound that, naturally, goes straight to your core). After that she quickly turns her attention to your clit, using one of her hands to keep your lower lips spread as she uses the very tip of her tongue to tease your sensitive nub: spiralling from its centre to the edges of it, spelling out words in frustratingly perfect cursive, tracing out shapes and formulae that you distantly recognise as coming straight from the Arcadia research you’re meant to be doing right now, and rhen she goes back to her cursive and her spirals. A rhythm that has you soaking her chin and throat with her slick and doing everything you can to not buck up into her mouth and ride her talented tongue as you so desperately wished to.
But then she ever so carefully drags the barest edge of her front teeth over your clit and that wavering string of restraint finally snaps.
All at once your hands fly forward to grip at her hair and your thighs clamp down on either side of her head, holding her in place as you ground your hips against her. You can feel her chuckling against your cunt but she doesn’t stop her ministrations, only picking up the pace and expertly manoeuvering her free hand up between your trembling legs so that she can pay proper attention to your neglected hole — swiftly plunging two fingers into your aching pussy and thrusting them in and out of your tight entrance at the same speed her tongue is moving against you. It doesn’t take her long to find that spongy spot inside of you that has your toes curling and your vision spotting, and she’s even quicker to start abusing it as she pushes you closer and closer to climax: scissoring, crooking, and fucking you with her long digits until you’re seeing stars, screaming her name, and she’s soaked in your cum from her fluttering eyelashes down to her aching wrist.
Only then does she start to slow down, continuing to pleasure you through your orgasm and helping you come down with just enough sensation to prolong your high without overstimulating you to the point of tears and pain. Only then does she coax your twitching thighs apart and reach for a spare bit of fabric to wipe her hands and face clean of the mess you’ve made of her (or, rather, the mess that she can’t quite reach to lick clean herself). Only then does she lean back to catch her breath and fix her hair back into a bun, muttering quiet complaints to herself while she waits for you to catch your breath. Only then does she reach forward to firmly grasp your chin between her thumb and forefinger, making you meet her gaze as you come back to earth, a single question on her lips that sends another wave of eager heat straight to your centre.
‘Now, why don’t you show me what you’ve learned?’
—————————————
Though you may not have had that same cool confidence and experience-driven skill that your dear doctor seems to have in droves, you do your best to make up for it with your unbridled enthusiasm as you dive face first into her glistening cunt.
You spread her apart with with trembling fingers and groan at the overwhelming sight and smell of her slick. Head spinning with the knowledge that all of this is because of you, because of how much she enjoyed pleasuring and teaching you, and you’re overcome with the urge to gorge yourself on her juices until you forget the sound of your own name. So you move forward those final few millimetres to do exactly that.
You’re like a woman starved as you devour her, sloppily licking and sucking on her wet cunt and swallowing every bit of her essence that drooled out of her glistening hole. You don’t even care to try and silence yourself as you moan and groan and grunt and whimper against her core, clumsily fucking your tongue into her and awkwardly nudging your nose against her swollen clit as you whine around your praise and pleas — only dragged back down to earth again when she firmly grasps the back of your neck in one hand and sternly reminds you to ‘remember what I taught you’ before pulling your head back just enough for you to catch your breath and regain your bearings.
Then you’re diving straight back in to pleasure her, this time focusing more on her sensitive clit while trying desperately not to get so caught up in the taste of her that you lose your head again. Not quite as certain in yourself as the doctor, your movements are slow, simple, and unsteady — shaky circles, messy swirls, attempts at cursive words that you abandon half way as your nerves get the better of you, and the like — but with Julie’s encouragement and firm grasp on your neck you feel your confidence slowly start to grow the longer you’re between her thighs.
Those stilted drawings become beautiful spiralling patterns that steal the air from her lungs and that leave your tongue straining by the time you’ve moved on to the next thing. Those unintelligible shapes become more defined and distinct as you trace them onto her flushed and swollen flesh. Those shaky letters become full words and phrases that have her gasping out curses and digging her nails into the back of your neck until you’re bleeding. You praise her, worship her, tease her, claim her with your name and hers drawn over and over again onto her sensitive clit, and by the time you’ve grown confident enough to finally start fingering her your face is almost completely drenched in her slick.
And, god, you could stay down here forever if only she’d let you…

December 24th 10:49pm
I have been to many doctors at this point. Respiratory specialist, vascular surgeon, haematologist, cardiologist in April, many gp appointments, and many tests and exams run on me. They discovered I have something called Venous Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, ( if you didnt know, i found out that your thoracic outlet is the space between your collar bone and first rib and it runs your artery, main vein and nerve that runs down your arm from your heart). Normal people have enough space between them mine apparently is under a cm 0.88cm to be exact and when I move my arm to a 90° angle it decreases to 0.45cm and then if I move my arm above my head so about 180° it decreases to 0.17cm. Bit intense lol.
Back in September I noticed my arm started to turn purple/blue, thought it was weird. Couldn't see a doctor right away as we had a gig in Canberra, on the way there my arm felt so tight and painful, stretching helped but not for long. Playing my arm would cramp up and tire easily (still haven't dropped my pick before, knock on wood)
After we got back I went to a doctor, not my normal one as I don't live near them anymore, first thing, he thought it was interesting too, told me to get an ultrasound on it, but couldn't get an appointment for days afterwards. I ended up being able to see my normal gp and he thought it was interesting too lol and he got another doctor in for his option, you guessed it thought it was weird. They told me to get a bunch of tests done, and that going to the ER would be better to do them as they're all in one place. I go to the ER at 1pm, and the 17 hour waiting room/tests begin. I had an ecg, ultrasound, two ct scans and a failed mri. I didn't realise I was claustrophobic like that. I felt so angry that I couldn't continue with it. In my defence they kept me int here for like 20 minutes telling me to breathe weird like breathe in then out then hold, over and over. I had a pulmonary embolism and they were getting me to that so much. When I got out they said they didn't even get to the important stuff too that there was 10 minutes left, what were they doing for 20 minutes then? Jerking off to me breathing? The other tests were enough though. They found blood clots in my arm, one was 11cm under my arm pit and down my bicep, the other was under my collar bone, and one in my lung. What they didn't know at the time was why a 25(at the time I'm 26 now) year old would get blood clots and getting them in your arm is rare enough. I had a doctor come in and take pictures of my chest as the veins coming from my heart are so pronounced on my right side, but it should go down.
I was put on blood thinners and after 48 hours of being in hospital I was let out. 17 hours in a waiting room, I got there at 1pm got a bed at like 6am the next day and let out around 1pm the day after. I'm clot free now. Though there are still more tests to be done, I'm not at the end of this yet. I have to get the all clear from the respiratory specialist to go off the blood thinners and then once I'm off them I can get blood tests to see if I have a blood clotting problem and if I don't then I go back to the vascular surgeon and we consider surgery, removing the first rib. If I have a blood problem then I'll be on blood thinners indefinitely anyway so surgery can be a later thing.
I don't know how I feel about surgery, really I just want all this to be over so I can move on with my life.
I felt a massive change when I was in hospital though. I felt for the first time in my life I was kinda forced to look at my position and re-evaluate things. I want different things now. I want to study again, do something I've wanted to do since I was 14, study science like I was supposed to do. I going to go back to university for astrophysics. You how much I love space and hearing you talk about how much you keep up with all the news let's me know it really is something I should pursue. I've been relearning maths and physics again and getting immersed in it. Also got addicted to cyberpunk 2077 and the whole genre in general but thats beside the point lol.
I'll finally be able to work again next year, find something less physically intense. I used to work hospitality, I was a mixologist in the end, which was a passion I developed while working in fine dining. I love making cocktails, hopefully I can make you one, one day. Though I won't be able to return to it, I'll be able to find something more officey maybe.
You look SO beautiful in that dress, I hope you had fun at the party too. I mso jealous of all that get to see you in person and I hope everyone at that party knows how good you looked. I'm sorry this post is late but I realised it's almost Christmas and maybe this can be a nice surprise for you on Christmas. Merry Christmas N, I hope its filled with love and joy and i hope you know I'm sending love and warmth your way.
I noticed one of your new tattoos..
Following the footsteps of a rag doll dance we are entranced..

super late WIP Weekend Monday Tuesday! WEDNESDAY
Tagged by @r6shippingdelivery earlier yesterday and just couldn't get to a long post until tonight.
This is semi-immediately after the comic where Fuze takes part in a NH training sim, and it's just me going 'huh, i wonder why fuze and alibi didn't join' so now i wrote another scenario, yeehaw
hints of poly spetsnaz toward the end of the wip but the full story is probably going to include a Lot More
Chalk had gotten into places he didn't think it could get.
Fuze finished rinsing off and tugged his towel off the rack as he stepped out from the stall, the noise from the other operators an incoherent audible slog. Tonight had been a specialized exercise with Nighthaven, though only a select few operators had been invited to join the event. It had been chaotic and almost fun for Fuze, if only for the fact that Smoke had gotten bold with his nonsense.
It would have been fine if not for the fact the team had been made up of three impulsive defenders and an enabler. Pulse, Alibi, and Smoke had decided to go on the full offensive and had successfully made annoyances of themselves; Mute had remained on the objective, since someone had to, as Wamai helped the other three play dirty. The end result had been a victory for the defenders, but as Mute sat in the corner of the locker room and held a cold compress to his jaw, the chalk-covered black balaclava still over his head and tinted glasses hiding his eyes, Fuze reviewed what had happened as best he could.
Fuze hadn’t seen what had happened, not really. He’d been too busy dealing with an overconfident Pulse, who had apparently forgotten that he was heavily outclassed by the Spetsnaz and SAS operators when it came to hand-to-hand, and a frustratingly bold Smoke. By the time the three of them had heard Alibi’s near-scream, he’d given Estrada a number of new bruises under the vest; he could remember clearly that he and Porter were about to do serious damage to each other when she had hit the emergency stop for the simulation. The fact that Porter already had a bluish-grey patch of skin under his left eye told Shuhrat that he’d swung just as hard as he’d intended to.
What he did remember was the crumpled form of the young engineer while Alibi called for Doc. Shuhrat had almost tripped over the man before Aria pulled him out of the walkway, and from a glance, he’d assessed that Jaimini had managed to hit him in the head. The impact had been enough to temporarily knock the sense out of him, though Shuhrat couldn’t blame Aira for thinking the rifle had done much worse. When Kateb had arrived, he’d shown a fury that Shuhrat could only recall being shown regarding Flament.
It had been Shuhrat who had helped the doctor get Mark to his feet and responsive. It seemed like he’d gone into some form of shock at the moment, and so once he was mostly responsive Kateb had cleared him to at least take a shower and get some rest. He tugged his clothes on as he tried to figure out what would have possessed Jaimini to aim for the head, training rounds or not. The temptation to ask was strong, though he was more than certain she would-
“Hey, you quiet bastard,” and just like that, Shuhrat’s train of thought was gone with a clap on his back and a startlingly loud greeting from Haugland. The Uzbek squared his jaw and closed his eyes as he took a deep breath in, the immediate instinct to deck the man in the face only alleviated by the fact he had just gotten cleaned up. He turned to face the specialist as he smoothed out his telnyashka and assumed his expression was as sour as his mood when the man winced.
“So, he’s not exactly chatty,” Håvard started.
“Wonder why,” Shuhrat said quietly as he folded his arms. He’d set most of his weight on one leg, and his gaze flicked to where the engineer had been only to find the seat empty before he met the Norwegian’s eyes again.
“I - well, yeah, okay, so he’s got a bit of a right to be shitty,” the man laughed, albeit awkwardly as he reached behind his head to ruffle his own hair. “Look, I know it’s hard to believe, but she really didn’t mean to hit him where she did. Could you let him know? I get the feeling Chandar’s the sort of guy to just fuck off before you get the chance to apologise.”
Well, the man wasn’t exactly wrong, but that left one thing unanswered. “Then where did she intend to hit him?”
“She said she was aiming for the chest, as per the agreement. It was a misfire,” the blond explained with a sigh. “A really, really expensive misfire.”
“Hm.” Shuhrat closed his locker almost absently as he considered the request. After a moment, he shrugged and picked up his coat from the bench before he turned to leave.
“Is that a yes? A no? Give me something, Kessikbayev!” The tone of the man’s voice was almost pitiful, and it might have worked if not for the fact he’d learned an immunity to such things years ago with Maxim. Instead of a reply, he gave a half-hearted wave behind himself as he strode out of the locker room and listened to the disappointed groan Håvard gave in return.
He looked each way to try and figure out which way his teammate had gone before a different familiar face emerged from around the corner. Aria seemed to perk up as she saw him, and then gestured insistently for him to come her way; Shuhrat followed with little complaint, and soon enough he was walking beside the rather expressive woman. If her expression was anything to go by, she was in a mood foul enough to sour milk.
“Doctor Kateb took him for a minute,” she said once they were a fair distance from the locker rooms. “Said he wanted to get a picture for his bones, make sure there’s no skull fracture that he missed. I figured you would want to check in on him, at least, since Porter seems preoccupied. Can you believe she aimed for the head- oh, who am I kidding, of course you can-”
“Did you see?” Aria almost stumbled when he spoke, and so he made an effort to actually look at her when he tapped the hinge of his jaw. She paused before she shook her head with a sigh and an expression that was easily a cousin to shame.
“No, I did not. Well, not the bruise. I saw him go down, it was… I thought she had actually killed him for a moment.”
That stopped him.
She turned after a few more steps and blinked. It was a moment of odd silence before she spoke again, her eyes crestfallen as she tried to give him a reassuring smile. “I sometimes forget that you have been his teammate for nearly a decade and so have a different bond. I did not mean to scare you, if I did.”
“Explain.” He realized his tone was more curt than he’d intended, but he also realized that he was a much better person to tell than Baker. Who would, inevitably, find out that Mark had been injured due to technical friendly fire and proceed to have a word with Nighthaven over it. They began to walk again, following the path to the infirmary more out of habit than anything else.
“I think she was aiming for me initially, and Chandar got in the way,” Aria explained almost sheepishly. “I knew she took risks, but I guess I didn’t realize how much of one she was willing to take. He’s not that much taller than me, if she had hit…”
Risk was one thing, but blatant endangerment was a different and much more dangerous beast. Shuhrat rubbed at his jaw briefly as they rounded the corner for the infirmary and -
Timur grabbed them both before either of them toppled, and it was one of the few times he was grateful that he was not quite too heavy for the man; Shuhrat observed that he was barely dressed, as if he’d thrown on the first thing available, which happened to include Maxim’s nightshirt. Once they had regained their feet, he let the sniper hold his face, turn his head one way and the other, and gave him the freedom to check his body as best anyone could through the two layers of clothing he wore. Worry had etched into his eyes in a way that made at least some part of Shuhrat regretful that he’d taken part at all.
“I was told one of you got hurt,” the sniper said as he patted the Uzbek’s cheeks with a small sigh. “If not you, who?”
“Chandar took a bullet for de Luca.” Shuhrat looked up as Maxim caught up with their partner, equally disheveled though half as awake. He gave a look to Aria and motioned for her to head along to the infirmary, which she obliged with a happy - and perhaps slightly knowing - smile.
“He did what?” There was horror in Timur’s voice as he rested his hands on Shuhrat’s shoulders. Maxim seemed to share the sentiment, though from his expression he was far too tired to vocalize it; he gave Shuhrat a befuddled look as he came close and lifted a hand. After a moment of hesitation and a nod of permission, the hunter gently cradled Shuhrat’s jaw in his hand and brushed a thumb across his cheekbone.
“Kali aimed for Alibi. Mute moved ahead of her, took the shot for her. I was not present - I was upstairs.” He shook his head slightly and, in a vain attempt to comfort his partners, reached up to touch their hands. “Impacted his jaw rather than his chest.”
“That hurt like a bitch,” Maxim mumbled, tone tired and concerned. “Are you both alright?”
“Besides the bruising on my knuckles, I am fine. Chandar was… disoriented, but he is in the infirmary now. You should go check on him,” he stated quietly, eyes on Timur as he squeezed the sniper’s hand. “I know he is your close friend. He will likely be all too happy to see you.”
“I will, yes, just - promise me you are truly not hurt and lying to me.”
“Tima, when would I ever lie to you about my health?”
“Do you wish for that list in chronological or alphabetical order, Shuhrat?”
"I love you both," Maxim's voice sounded as bleary as he looked as he gently placed a hand on Timur's shoulder to urge him toward the infirmary, "But I am far too tired to deal with that conversation, so please go check on him. I will check Shuh."
The sniper looked between them both with a hint of skepticism as he stepped away. "Fine, but a single injury on you that isn't on your hands means I'll have you on the couch, you hear me?"
"Yes, ma'shuq, I hear you."

Examples of Why I Think I Likely Have Hypermobility or EDS: A (Hopefully) Ongoing Thread
When I go to zip jackets, if the zipper is stuck and I go to pull it anyway, my fingers pop and go numb for a bit
Will experiance severe hand pain (On either hand), shift around my hand until there is a pop followed by temporary relief and then immense soreness
Wrists will suddenly pop resulting in immense pain
Rotate my torso only to have immense rib pain that makes it difficult to breath and causes me to essentially fold in on myself and have to just wait for it to go away, can begin again based on less strenuous movement at any time for at least the next day or 2
Feels like my hips or knees are twisting or ripping out of their joints sometimes when just laying in my bed
Both my pinkies bend back at least 90 degrees
Can touch both my thumbs to my forearms
Can touch my toes and would likely get further if my stomach fat didn’t get in the way
Have had multiple times where my knee popped 3 times and then had immense pain doing simple things like getting into bed or a car
Have always had to have a blanket cupping my neck when I sleep or I end up with severe neck pain
Have had doctors think I had bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome only for specialists to rule it out
If I massage my arms near my wrists it causes pins and needles to shoot out
Fingers will feel broken at times and will momentarily feel better if “popped” but then become sore
Get severe neck pain that can lead to migraines just from being upright without neck support for more than 30-40 minutes
Have weird hand cramping that doctors cannot explain as being connected to fibromyalgia or anything else they have thought was wrong with me
Broke my ankle while running in new shoes at Walmart as a kid, when X-Rays were done after the cast was taken off they mentioned that it looked more like I had actually damaged the ligaments or something and then they never did anything about it again
Was constantly rolling my ankle as a child and still likely would be today I just do less so it happens less often
Bruise really easily and end up with bruises that are bigger than they should be (Which runs in the family, my mom can literally bruise her lips biting into an apple instead of cutting it up)
Flexible skin (Also runs in the family)
Both my parents and my older sister are “double-jointed”
My younger sister was informed that she had hypermobility in her hips
Have an aunt with a current fibromyalgia diagnosis who bruises easily, has flexible skin, always had a lot of allergies, etc.
Multiple other family members who show signs of increased flexibility, chronic pain, easy bruising, flexible/loose skin, chronic stomach issues, heart issues, etc.
Can feel my bones moving in bad ways
Have numerous times where I move/shift and it is like my bones clip nerves or veins or something as it causes numbness/pins and needles
Have a family full of people who do not go to the doctors unless they absolutely have to
Limbs tremble from pain while using
There are likely things I'm forgetting and will likely be things I need to add in the future but hopefully keep track here will help me in the future

As someone who has been on both sides of the healthcare equation a fair bit (student nurse and person with chronic health issues) it frustrates me to no end when people tell me to 'just go to the ER'. I know what they would do - they would rule out anything that is going to immediately seriously hurt or kill me (hopefully) and then send me home to follow up with my primary care provider. It's not a quick fix for me like it often is for people with no chronic health issues and it's probably just going to end up with me feeling worse and wasting time and resources for both the healthcare system and myself - I could also pick up an infection or illness, because as much as we try to keep things clean, hospitals are full of sick people and as such are dirtier and germier than most people expect. There are only so many spoons to go around and I don't want to use them for something that won't help me and could potentially just make me worse.
I think people genuinely want to help me but they have little to no insight into my lived experience as both patient and provider (in training). For most people who are relatively healthy, their understanding of illness and injury is that you get sick or hurt, then you go to the doctor or to the hospital, and then you get better, or you skip that middle step and get better by yourself. The normal level of pain for people without chronic health conditions is little to none, depending on factors like normal period cramps, the occasional ache or pain, or those odd little bruises and scratches (I see people say the normal level of pain is zero, and whilst I agree with the sentiment, my autistic brain is pedantic AF and won't let me say that lol).
Massive spiel about how I figure out if I need to seek medical attention or not below the cut, I am a yapper at heart and incapable of conciseness.
So, if someone with no chronic pain or health issues experiences something like constant and unrelenting vomiting, persistent shortness of breath, severe chest pain and/or heart racing and palpitations, a blinding headache, or severe abdominal/pelvic pain and tenderness, it's very clear cut for them to go to the ER. For someone with a chronic health issue or chronic pain, this may be their every day or their flare when they are overtired or pick up something like the common cold or a stomach bug. Needless to say, it would be impractical and unhelpful for someone with, for instance, endometriosis, to go to the ER every month when their symptoms flare. (Or randomly, if your cycle is less of a cycle and more of an un-lucky-dip/neverending rollercoaster/Satan's wheel of misfortune like mine is.)
Even medical professionals who work with people with chronic illness and pain every day sometimes struggle to grasp this concept, especially if they don't have any personal experience with it. I feel like this is part of the reason why many chronically ill people find public health information confusing to interpret or near impossible to relate to - it's not really designed with us in mind, because in most cases, our specific condition/set of conditions (and therefore our experience) is a minority. If I went to the hospital every time the communication aimed at the general public tells me to, I would be there every couple of weeks.
The most helpful thing I have found to help me know when it's time to seek urgent medical attention is to follow these principles:
Know your normal. If you know what symptoms are normal for you and when, and what they feel like, it'll be easier for you to recognize a change or deviation from your norm. This is one of the many reasons why even vague and inconsistent symptom tracking/journaling can be really useful for those of us with chronic health issues. (I use an app called QENDO and the period tracker Clue to track my symptoms of suspected endo.)
When you do see a doctor or specialist or health professional, ask them a butt-ton of questions about what to watch for so you can make a plan (kind of like the personalized asthma management plans that we have in Australia that say when to take your medication, when to see your doctor, and when to call an ambulance). This is helpful mainly for understanding when you should seek medical attention for the condition(s) you have or are suspected to have - for instance, if I were to pass out then I would need to go to urgent care or the ER to check on my heart and blood pressure because I've talked with some doctors who think that I might have POTS. This will be different for everyone, some people regularly pass out, have seizures etc... and that is their normal. If you don't have access to a provider that is willing to help or listen then doing your own research about your conditions can be helpful but it doesn't really replace individualized professional medical advice.
Know which conditions and complications you are at increased risk for. This might sound obvious, but it's important. As a young woman who takes hormonal birth control and has gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, I am at an increased risk for things like strokes, blood clots, stomach ulcers, and GI tract bleeds compared to the general population. That way I know that if I experience something like one-sided weakness and paralysis, vomiting or coughing up blood, or throbbing pain/swelling in one leg, I need to seek urgent medical attention. On the other hand, severe lower abdominal or pelvic pain, very heavy menstrual bleeding, severe headaches and severe pain in my lower back and both legs is normal for me, especially around my period (please remember these symptoms shouldn't be ignored. They should always be taken seriously and it's really important to talk to a medical provider about them if you haven't before. I talked to my doctors about these symptoms and made a plan for how to manage and investigate them).
As always just a disclaimer that nothing I post on here should be taken as medical advice at all ever. I have like... half a qualification at best and I'm not acting or speaking on behalf of anyone but myself and I'm not acting or speaking in any professional capacity - just casual blogging on the internet.
*If you are concerned at all about your health and you go to the ER or urgent care this does not mean you are wasting time and resources! please don't put off seeking medical attention because you are worried about 'wasting time', ruling out a serious issue and making sure you are OK is never a waste of time. If you are seriously worried about your health then please seek professional help.
There is nearly nothing as frustrating as being told to go to the ER for symptoms that you experience on the regular, and the person not understanding that their solution isn't an option.
Like, I was told to go the ER for my repetitive vomiting, when I experience that once a month from endometriosis. How would a once a month ER trip be practical?
Literally what will they do? Why would I spend 5 + hours at an ER being so sick I want to die when I could do the same thing at home in bed? Able bodied people are truly in a different reality, the ER will not help me.

Dani in ICU. Part 1.
I don't understand where I am, and I don't remember how I ended up here. What happened to me? Why can't I move? I can't even close my eyes!
However, I see, hear and understand everything. I'm lying in bed in the middle of a big white room. There is medical equipment near my bed. It constantly makes some noises that scare me. From time to time, a woman who looks like a nurse approaches me. Is it a hospital? But why am I here? Why did they put a tube in my mouth?
I can hear the nurses talking. They talk about me. I had an accident a few weeks ago. I don't remember anything about it. They are going somewhere, and I can no longer hear their conversation. However, now it is clear where I am and why. Very soon I will understand everything. Now I just must lie here and wait for someone to explain to me what is going on.
I seem to pass out from time to time. Day and night change too quickly. The next thing I saw was that I was being taken somewhere.
This time I woke up in another room. Looks like I'm still in the hospital. There is much more medical equipment here. I still can't move, and I still have the tube in my mouth. I often see a strange doctor at my bedside. She examines me, writes something down and gives injections.
One day she spoke to me.
"Dani, you are in a private clinic. Monitoring shows that you are now conscious. But your condition is unstable. After an electric shock, your heart stopped. You were resuscitated for a very long time and your brain was seriously damaged. You are completely paralyzed and can't even breathe on your own. Don't worry, the ventilator is breathing instead of you through the tube in your throat. You stayed too long in the previous hospital and your condition only worsened. Degradation of brain tissues increased. From time to time you lose consciousness. Complete memory loss is also possible. We will try to help you, but I must warn you: the damage is very serious, and the chances of success are slim.”
I don't understand… Dani? Is that my name? I really don't remember much about myself. So, this tube, this noise... I can't breathe on my own... What should I do? I will be cured, right?
"The best specialists will take care of your treatment here. We haven't done all the tests yet. After their analysis, we will be able to choose the optimal treatment for you. Yes, of course... I didn't introduce myself. My name is Ella Cohen.”
