BRC MerMay Ideas
And now for my BRC MerMay headcanons!! Like I mentioned in the poll, every year I try to do a drawing for MerMay, which is usually just a mermaid version of a favorite character. I’m hoping to do something for BRC next year, so I’ve got a bunch of ideas for mermaid versions for almost every character!
Benni, the Oldheads, and Berlage are not here, but maybe they can stay as humans in this… I guess it’s basically a MerMay/mermaid AU by this point, lol
Starting with the main cast:
Tryce = red snapper
Bel = floating bell jellyfish (Get it, bell, Bel, lol)
Vinyl = sailfish, probably the Atlantic sailfish in particular
Felix = coelacanth (for headcanons-derived-from-implied-lore reasons, hee hee...)
DJ Cyber = manta ray, specifically the giant manta ray because they're cool as hell
Solace = garden eel! He pops in and out of the sand.
Solace: *popping out of the sand* Hello friends! How are y-- Tryce: You get back in that sand hole, or so help me-- Solace: *going back into the sand* Oh, okay, sorry!!
I’m sorry, I just find the idea funny, lol
Some bonus BRC members plus Escher:
Rave = wahoo
Mesh = threadfin butterflyfish
Shine = sunshinefish (was originally going to make her a sunfish, but I decided to be nice to her :P )
Rise = leopard seal
Coil = rainbow wrasse
Rietveld = orca
Escher = whale shark with prosthetic tail (I headcanon that the original Escher has non-cybernetic prosthetic legs, below the knees, so that’s getting carried over to his MerMay design)
Okay so also! With Rietveld and Escher in this weird AU, they used to be humans (Cops? Part of a navy who tried to hunt mermaids maybe?) who said “Screw this, we won’t be the bad guys anymore!!” and found a way to turn into mermaids. I guess. :P
So moving on, for the rival characters from here, besides DOT EXE, the seasons in parentheses indicate which in-game palette corresponds to that character. Just so you know!
The Franks = stitched together of different sharks and dolphins!
Bill (spring) = common dolphin + lemon shark
Charles (summer) = dusky dolphin + blue shark
Michael (autumn) = Commerson’s dolphin + thresher shark
Larry (winter) = bottlenose dolphin + leopard shark
Flesh Prince = Atlantic spotted dolphin (Spots and freckles!!)
Eclipse = all octopi
Vela (spring) = common octopus
Aquila (summer) = blue ringed octopus
Lyra (autumn) = mimic octopus
Cassiopeia (winter) = giant pacific octopus
DOT EXE = Robo fish mermaids!! So not specific fish species here, just general shapes/appearances basically.
Twoson (two ball) and Fourside (four ball) = robo guppies
Cinco (five ball) = robo sailfish
Neun (nine ball) = robo stingray
Eight Ball = robo shark
Jūrō (ten ball) = robo eel
Quatorze (fourteen ball) = robo octopus
Cueball = robo dolphin
Devil Theory = all sharks (more specifically picked species that have been most commonly reported in shark attacks)
Sai (spring) = great white shark (the guy with the anger problems of course gets the shark with the most reported bites :P )
Nunchaku (summer) = tiger shark
Daishō (autumn) = blacktip shark (Not blacktip reef shark! That is actually a separate species)
Bō (winter) = bull shark
Fun fact! Leopard seals are apex predators, and are even known to eat sharks on occasion. This is why Rise is allowed in Devil Theory’s turf (waters?) in this MerMay AU, lol
FUTURISM = stingrays, like with DJ Cyber
Nyx (spring) = eagle ray
Jazz (summer) = bat ray
Veronica (autumn) = whiptail stringray
Quantum (winter) = electric ray (maybe the marbled one in particular?)
Bonus round of “Red is somehow a separate person from Felix and Faux” stuff because I like the idea of that (but not as a replacement for Felix, the hate I have seen against Felix just to prop up Red that I have seen in this fandom is ridiculous...)
Red = A red guppy! So then Faux was this before being defeated too of course. Red in this AU is like… a talking hermit crab taking shelter in the old Red helmet. Felix was putting the helmet back together to use as his new mask, and found Red.
He decided to let the crab have the helmet (especially since it needed it more than him, having a hard time finding an actual shell after being bullied by other hermit crabs) plus Faux's old body. Using the helmet and some advanced set up inside of it (probably with further modifications by the Flesh Prince and DJ Cyber), Red can use it to control the body just like any other mermaid! Huzzah!
Faux's head is found at some point later, miraculously still alive and well! He gets attached to a non-mermaid sea dragon at some point. Not an actual sea dragon, but a leafy seadragon. Basically the Flesh Prince and DJ Cyber tricked him into agreeing to the new body, omitting the “leafy” part, lmao
They promise to get him a proper mermaid body if he behaves and properly repents for what he did (he still killed Felix here and tried to kill the others before being stopped), but uh, suffice to say at the moment he's got a long way to go.
It doesn’t help that he keeps trying to outright steal his old body from Red. “Dude, you literally threw it away to try and steal Solace’s body!!” “Don’t care, give it back!!” lol
So yeah! That's all of what I have for MerMay ideas! Feel free to let me know what you think of these :D
#bomb rush cyberfunk#bomb rush cyberfunk headcanons#brc headcanons#Wren's BRC headcanons#pretty much every character is mentioned here I'm not gonna tag them all lmao...#MerMay#mermaid#mermaids#mermaid AU

Good news first: the herb garden is doing wonderfully - so many lavender buds and fresh rosemary - and the nasturtium is blooming.
The pepper bed is looking good, especially with all the alyssum, it’s just the poblano and bell pepper that are struggling and dropping leaves. Meanwhile, the tomatoes are setting fruit despite some leaf curling. Gotta water more regularly. They’re tangling together but I don’t want to prune too hard.
Blackberry is blossoming, jasmine making a surprise comeback, and I think the potted tomatoes could use some more sunlight bc they’re a little leggy.
Still waiting for tomato seedlings to form true leaves. Bell pepper seeds have not germinated.
And finally, the dreaded tomato transfer. So the BRC has not been doing well; while I’m pretty sure it has some kind of fungal infection, the yellowing also implies a nutrient deficiency. I pulled it up and lo and behold, it’s pretty root bound. I know I should probably get rid of it but it’s the biggest plant we have so my mom and I want to try saving it by moving to a bigger pot. Surprisingly, I managed to move it with minimal damage to the plant. We’ll see how much longer it survives.

The Cinnamon rabbit is a breed of domesticated rabbit created "accidentally" in 1962 and named for its coat color. The Cinnamon is currently recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) but not by the British Rabbit Council (BRC). Named for its distinct coloration, the Cinnamon rabbit's coat is ideally rust or ground cinnamon with a uniform gray ticking across the back, smoky grey coloring on its sides, a dark underbelly, and an orange under-color all over. Rust-colored spots appear inside the hind legs and often also on the feet and face. The hind legs, feet, and face are generally darker than the rest of the body, producing a butterfly effect on the nose and small circles around each eye. The Cinnamon, weighing 8.5–11 pounds, is medium in length and has a commercial body.
The Cinnamon rabbit was actually created accidentally by two children, Belle and Fred Houseman, during the Easter season of 1962 in Missoula, Montana. After crossbreeding their Chinchilla doe and their New Zealand buck, the children’s father, Ellis Houseman, let the children keep one crossbred buck. After joining their local 4-H group, the children were given a Checkered Giant doe and a crossed Californian doe. After mating the crossed buck with each doe, the Californian doe produced one russet-colored bunny in its litter and the Checkered Giant eventually produced two bunnies with this russet-colored fur (one doe and one buck.) Ellis Houseman believed that only purebred rabbits should be kept for show, but he reluctantly allowed his children to keep the pair of russet-colored bunnies from the Checkered Giant’s last litter. The children mated this pair together, and 70 percent of the litter had this new auburn shade of fur, which they began calling Cinnamon. Ellis noticed this new color and the fur’s excellent sheen, and proceeded to present the rabbits to J. Cyril Lowett, Oregon ARBA Judge and board member at the time. Lowett declared that there was a strong possibility of the rabbits’ ability in becoming an official breed, as there was no other breed like them in the United States. The family reached their goal in 1972 and were officially recognized and accepted by the ARBA’s Book of Standards.
Rabbits tend to be bred for one of four things: meat, fur, show, or pet use. The Cinnamon rabbit is referred to as the “All-Purpose Rabbit” because it fulfills all four of these purposes.
Cinnamons were originally bred as meat rabbits. Of the four parent breeds of the Cinnamon, the New Zealand, Checkered Giant and Californian are largely used meat rabbits, giving the Cinnamon a high potential as a meat rabbit as well.
Cinnamons have been bred to achieve a specific coloring, which does not vary much between rabbits of the breed. This unique and appealing color makes it an ideal fur rabbit, but because it is a rare breed it is not used often.
Cinnamons have become a popular breed in competitive showing as well. Some experienced rabbit breeders enjoy the challenge of breeding the cinnamon rabbit because acquiring them is difficult due to their low numbers. However, the cinnamon is also suited for the amateur shower who isn’t interested in breeding.
As pets, Cinnamons are a great option. They require a balanced diet, but little grooming and care. The Cinnamon’s large size and sturdiness allows older children to handle the breed without fear of injuring it. The naturally calm temperament of a Cinnamon suits families who are looking for a pet rabbit because the rabbits enjoy human attention.

Speak Life.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, the family - by blood and by choice - of Ronny Drayton gathered together to celebrate his life and the impact that he has forever left on all of us.
I got to know Ronny through Black Rock Coalition events and benefits that we have done through the years. It was at a benefit for Funkadelic graphic artist Pedro Bell, when Ronny told me about the arrest of his son Donovan and the grinding web of red tape that he had to deal with to get him a bail hearing, much less a fair and speedy trial.
Out of that conversion and others within the organization, birthed the Million Man Mosh concerts, which raised money for his defense, and raised awareness of how prosecutors were using delay tactics, unreasonable bail demands and other wack tactics to get defendants, regardless of innocence, into taking plea deals.
Long story short, Ronny wasn’t having it.
It took five years, but Donovan was cleared of all major charges, a free man, and, a father of two.
The first two shots represent the end stages of the long, legal nightmare: the first was taken during a production meeting for Million Man Mosh 2 after Donovan was finally released on bail and awaiting trial. It says EVERYTHING about their bond.
The 2nd shot was taken shortly after Donovan’s defense team made the lights out closing arguments calling for his acquittal. Big up to Kim Lesley, whose love and support for Ronny and Donovan was invaluable.
The third shot features Ronny, Vernon Reid and Jimi Hazel during another, if I’m not mistaken, the first Million Man Mosh production meeting. Three amazing guitarists, three fathers, three beyond cool human beings.
The last set of shots are from the BRC’s ‘History Of Our Future’ show at the Met in the fall of 2019. As you can see, there’s a lot of love in the room. At one point, it was me, Ronny, Vernon and Carl Hancock Rux in one dressing room talking about, well, everything. Ronny was, as always, on point, serious as a heart attack, and yet, peppering all with humor. Sadly, it was the last time I would see him.
I can go on and on about Ronny, but I would suggest that you go out and listen to his work that he did with Nona Hendryx, Defunkt, James Blood Ulmer, Edwin Birdsong, Burnt Sugar, 24-7 Spyz and the other extraordinary recordings.
Much love to Ronny’s son Donovan, his grandchildren, family, friends, and all that knew and loved him.
Speak Life.
It was an affirmation, a rally cry and a declaration.
Thank you Ronny Drayton for making all of us part of your life.

It’s official...low temperatures are in direct correlation with my heightened carb cravings and pasta never disappoints 😁. I made this recipe oil-free as I have no control sometimes when it comes to olive oil on pastas and it wasn’t bad. Didn’t miss the olive oil at all. I also made use of some beautiful Romanesco broccoli for the first time. This is the second time this week I’ve made this recipe: . Gluten & oil-free Creamy Veggie Pasta Makes about 2-3 servings . 6 oz (171g) gluten-free spaghetti 4-6 mushrooms, sliced (I used king oyster and beech) 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 handful cherry tomatoes 1 small onion, sliced 1-2 tsps McCormick’s Roasted Garlic & Herb seasoning 1 tsp dried parsley 1 tsp dried basil 3/4 to 1 cup soy/coconut milk Half of small head of broccoli, cut into florets Half head of Romanesco broccoli, cut into florets 1/2 red bell pepper, diced salt and pepper, to taste . Heat a nonstick pan and add the onion, mushrooms and tomatoes. Cook until the onion is browned then add seasonings and garlic. Stir in soy/coconut milk and add broccoli, red pepper, parsley, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes then remove from heat. Cook and drain pasta then stir into sauce (add more liquid if needed) and serve immediately. Enjoy!😊 . . . . . #comfortfood #veganpasta #pasta #plantprotein #dairyfree #glutenfree #oilfree #plantbaseddiet #feedfeed #veganeats #veganinspo #veganfood #whatveganseat #vegansofig #veganfoodshare #huffposttaste #buzzfeedfood #getinmybelly #bestofvegan #eatyourgreens #healthyeating #heresmyfood #letscookvegan #beautifulcuisines #carbs #poweredbyplants #veganrecipes https://www.instagram.com/p/Brc-3uhguG9/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1or273x1oe39c

Whilst the Thunderbirds are based at Nellis AFB in Nevada, the Blue Angels are actually based at NAS Pensacola in Florida’s Panhandle. Two of America’s top military aerobatic display teams, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds flying Lockheed (General Dynamics) F-16 Fighting Falcons and the United States Navy Blue Angels flying Boeing (McDonnell Douglas) F/A-18E/F Super Hornets regularly perform at some of Florida’s Air Shows. Warbirds over the beach 2016 how to#
if you ever want to join the "rare and crazy breed" you can always attend one of our jump schools and we'll teach you how to do it! In the mean time look for us to perform at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's airshow in June in Reading, Pennsylvania and at the Warbirds Over Monroe event in November in Monroe North Carolina which is Tinker Belle's home town.Īnd. We have been treated very well by everyone at the museum these past years and look forward to returning next year. We were looking forward to a repeat appearance this year as well but it looks like the museum's budget won't allow it. So there is historical precedent for jumping from her. As I'm sure you know, the C-46 was used not only as a transport aircraft flying the "Hump" during WWII but also as a jump platform for the "Operation Varsity" jumps. Tinker Belle is a a great aircraft and her crew and owners are the best. That is why we were outfitted as Fallshirmjaeger but jumped a US aircraft. Last year we were scheduled to do it again but the aircraft had some difficulties so we jumped from Tinker Belle instead (the show must go on.). As far as I know, the only group to make static line parachute jumps from a Ju52 since the war. We do traditionally jump US but a few years ago had the rare privilege of jumping as Fallshirmjaeger from the Museum's Ju52. The same group that has been jumping at this show for several years now. I'm a member of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team.

I'm sooo happy i not the only one who thinks bella could still wake up!!! She'll be fine ok?! (I still think she would have a hard time getting back to normal like.... that leg was badly beaten up??? I don't think she's gonna be walking anytime soon? But her friends would be there to help her out, especially ash! Sorry i'm a mess. I has to put her in coma again for achievements. do you mind if i ask for any fluffy post-epilogue headcanons about this route?
Ask, and you shall receive! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
this got a bit long, so….
Here’s my thought process in regards to comabelle: if she wakes up in one possible ending, she has the ability to wake up in all of them! Also, seeing as how cuddles the ghost attacks Zach, Hannah (in show the letter route) and Marianne in their dreams, she has some means of messing with the unconscious, if they’re vulnerable enough at least, and who’s more unconscious and vulnerable than comabelle????
My point is, the reason she keeps seizing???? Cuddles is harassing her. So, break the curse, free Isabella from that. Of course, her mind needs some time to recover after having been dealing with cuddles 24/7 for at least a week. But, eventually, she does overcome it and awakens.
Hannah, being good friends with Zach, is also helping pay for the best treatment, on top of what Ash, Zach and Becca are contributing, this girl has the nations best specialists working on her. When she wakes up, there are tears amongst everyone :’) They decided not to say anything about the ghost unless she asks, not knowing she was dealing with cuddles this entire time and not wanting to distress her in case she forgot about it.
Unfortunately, Bella lost all mobility in her legs, and soon learns about her father’s passing. She’s near despondent. The friends do everything they can to cheer her, but nothing works, until Ash, who had been setting aside money this entire time, buys a ticket for every member of Bella’s family so that they can visit her in person. It doesn’t fix everything, but its a step in the right direction.
Her family cant stay too long, but they are there for the early months of her recovery. She always has someone accompanying her to rehab…unfortunately, she never regains mobility in her legs, but she does regain full mobility from the waist up.
She doesn’t know what to do though; cause, she can’t easily find work, and needs a new job since BRC went under. Eventually, Zach convinces her to take up painting again, and Becca encourages her to accept the scholarship. Not having anything else to do, and not wanting to be a burden on her family now that she’s disabled, Bella takes it.
It takes awhile, but, eventually, Bella starts to grow out of her melancholy and becomes more cheerful. She still gets frustrated easily, especially now that she can’t do things she normally took for granted, but she won’t that keep her down. And besides, she has wonderful friends looking out for her :’)
Eventually, the ghost is brought up. Ash catches her looking things up, and realizes that since she awoke and was able to, she’s been trying to find out information of what happened, but never asked, thinking they still wouldn’t believe her. Ash tells her all that happened, and Isabella thanks him. He asks what for, and she explains everything about how she was at the mercy of the ghost the entire time until it suddenly stopped. She never knew why, but now she does, and it’s thanks to him and the others.
It’s then that Ash decides he needs to do it.
“Belle,” he whispered, and the serious note in his voice stops any questions before they appear. “I…have been keeping something from you for awhile now, and I promised Becca that I would tell you if—when you woke up. I didn’t say anything right away, because, things were busy, and you needed time to readjust, and after that, I think I chickened out…no, I know I did. I didn’t want to risk losing your friendship, so I just kept my mouth shut.”
Belle opens her mouth to interrupt, but Ash looks her straight in the eye and the look he gives her makes the words die on her tongue. It’s a tortured look, one full melancholy, fear and…longing. A deep and insatiable longing so profound, she finds herself drowning just looking at it.
“But,” he said, his voice matching his eyes and she found herself sinking deeper. “I can’t very well hide behind my walls after hearing what you’ve faced…what you continue to face with a defiant smile. I love you. I love your defiance, and your cheer, and your stubbornness. I love how you put your family above all else. I love how you unplug everything before you leave, even now thats its difficult to do so. I love that look on your face you get when I say something stupid, that whine in your voice when you get into one of your silly arguments with Becca, that sparkle in your eye whenever you and Zach talk shop. I just…love you, and everything about you.”
He’s about to continue his tirade, but Bella hits him. For a second, Ash is terrified, thinking she’s rejecting him, but she’s just grabbed a hold of his arm and is tugging him downwards. Ash doesn’t move, not quite able to process what’s going on, so Isabella lets go and says: “I can’t stand, so you’re going to have to lean down!”
He does so, not knowing whats going on, and the minute he’s close, she grabs his head and pulls him in for a kiss. It is bad. He trips, and the momentum causes their teeth to clash with one another, and their foreheads to collide, and ouch its painful, but Ash wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m sorry, is that good enough fluff for you nonnie??? :;(∩﹏`∩);:

Lots of updates. Todays high is 79, lows in the 50s, rain/clouds expected this week. Experimented with a shade cloth but probably won’t need it when it’s cloudy.
We got germination for all the tomato seeds so they’ve been moved to the kitchen windowsill that hopefully has enough light. For comparison, there is one SM seedling in bed 4 that’s older. Lots of little mushrooms which hopefully won’t be an issue.
The BRC tomato has some discoloration but setting fruit so??? The two BRC cuttings look healthy. The one in water had some feeder roots so it looked like it was ready to be potted.
By the way, the green cups are peach tree cuttings! Our neighbors have a peach tree in the front yard and a big branch broke off, so we introduced ourselves and collected some fruit and cuttings. I didn’t have rooting hormone so I’ll see if they survive. I’m planning to make peach jam.
The Black Cherry has five major stems so I’m trying to save and stake all of them. The Supersweet 100 is top-heavy because of its giant beefy stem. Lots of suckers to prune off on both. They’re both flowering and I took some cuttings of both - these are BC cuttings except for the thick one on the right which is the SS100.
Overall, bed 4 looks alright. The herbs are all doing very well. There’s about an inch of new soft growth all over the rosemary, the lavenders are bushier and making lots of the flowers, and the oregano is going to flower soon. I’m drying some oregano in the kitchen but it doesn’t smell much, maybe because it was budding up already. In the back, you can see the potato, sunflowers, and marigolds growing fast. It’s amazing how much things can grow in a few weeks.
The poblano and bell in bed 3 are dropping leaves and might not make it, but the Cali Wonder, Thai chili, eggplant, alyssum, and cucumber are doing well.
Bed 1 has just been doing it’s own thing, and I’m probably just gonna pull everything except the onions and put in all the tomato transplants when they’re ready.
I also sowed marigold and cosmo seeds in trays.

Buffy: So he threatened you? With what? Willow: Well, i-it wasn't exactly anything he said. It was all in his eyes. I mean, there was some nostril work as well, but mostly eyes. Buffy: Snyder needs me to kick his ass. Willow: Oh, no, Buffy, don't get in trouble. I'll be okay. They reach the study table. Willow sets down her books, Buffy sits on it. Willow: I just hate the way he bullies people. He just assumes everyone's time is his. She lifts her bag from her shoulder and sets it down also as Giles comes out of his office sucking on a lollipop. Giles: Willow, get on the computer. I want you to take another pass at accessing the Mayor's files. Willow: (happily) Okay.

World + Peace: Amazing World Places to Meditate
February 17, 2019 8:18am Naples, Italy (From a Hostel Bed)
Today is my birthday and I’m full of so much gratitude. So much gratitude, in fact, that I feel the need to share it with whoever needs some and whoever wants some. Trust me, there’s plenty here to give.
I’m traveling right now, I am in the middle of the India tours, meeting strangers, eating new dishes, taking photos of beautiful mountainsides because they’re all a major part of my self-care. I woke up this morning ad before checking Instagram, Facebook, text messages, or missed calls, I opened my Insight Timer app and found Annemaree Rowley’s 16-minute guided “Gratitude” meditation. Today, I’ll be intentional about recognizing and reflecting on the great things I’ve been gifted and to show kindness toward others when the opportunity arises.
As a gift to you folks who, like me, believe in the power of mindfulness and meditation and compassion, I want to share some of the most amazing places in which I’ve allowed the universe to speak to me. Some are meditation centers and others are simply amazing places to find peace of mind. For the centers, descriptions are provided by their respective site:
1. Plum Village: “Near Bordeaux in southwest France, is the largest international practice center in the Plum Village tradition, and the first monastic community founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) in the West.”
2. Big Sur, California: To describe the beauty here, you must believe in fiction. Justin Michael Williams told me about this place. He saw to drive down, arriving a couple of hours before sunset, and to breathe and just take it all in. I did. I often find myself wanting to hop in a car and just go for a few hours.
3. The Buddhist Retreat Centre, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa: “Perched on a ridge at the head of a valley in the Umkomaas river system in KwaZulu-Natal, the Buddhist retreat Centre looks out on a vista of indigenous valleys, forests and rolling hills receding like waves in the blue distance. Here, for more than twenty years people of all religions have come to experience peace and tranquillity. It is a gentle, sympathetic space where one can be still and get in touch with oneself and reflect on the things that crowd one’s life. CNN featured the BRC as one of the 10 finest Meditation centres in the world (From their site).”
4. Wat Suan Mokkh, Chaiya, Thailand: “Meditation is a way to train and cultivate the mind, to develop con¬cen¬tra¬tion, mind¬ful¬ness and aware-ness. Bud¬dhism offers calm¬ness or con¬cen¬tra¬tion medi¬tation and vipassana or insight medi¬tation. Ana¬pana¬sati or Mind¬ful¬ness with Breathing, the medi¬tation method taught at Suan Mokkh, covers both, con¬cen¬tra¬tion and insight medi¬tation. But during the first days of the retreat we will mainly train you in con¬cen¬tra¬tion medi¬tation by focusing at¬ten¬tion on breathing. Detailed in¬struc¬tion is given through-out the retreat. All in¬struc¬tion and talks are given in English (From their site).”
5. Auyán-tepui, Venezuela: With the roar of the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall in the distance, this is an amazing place to have a rest while on an unforgettable hike and get into some contemplative practice. Surely this is one of those places where guided meditation leaders wouldn’t mind if you were to lay in your hammock while listening.
6. Entrelacs, Quebec: This is where I had one of my most amazing meditation moments of 2017. I rented a beautiful cabin with no electricity or running water in the middle of the forest with others and we sat around the fire, talking about it all. When I freed a bit of time, I walked to where the boats were kept, sat in the canoe, closed my eyes and let the universe guide me. When I came to, I was in the middle of the lake surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscape. A few months later, I was in South Africa, tattooing the Entrelacs trees on my wrist.
7. Kata Bay, Phuket, Thailand: Here, you’re removed from the sound of cars, feet shuffling, babies crying, and hustlers. You can be alone with your thoughts on one of the world’s most beautiful bays. If you grow tired of the solitude quickly, don’t fret. There are others nearby in hotels and resorts.
8. Bodhgaya, Bihar, India: Because…well…you know.
9. Wherever You Are: Getting away physically isn’t always possible, but making space where we are can be – even if just a second. Find your own serene, private spaces and escape to them whenever you need. Here’s a way to make that happen, according to Mind Body Green and Claire Charters:
A. Choose a room or space that makes you feel good. Take into consideration the lighting, the quietness and how many people walk through it. Will it be a place of solace? If you don’t have a whole room to dedicate to your sacred space then choose a corner of a room, or somewhere in your garden. You may even like to put up a bamboo screen to create the feeling of a separate space.
B. Keep the room simple and uncluttered. Choose a few items that find bring you peace and serenity. Some basics would be a meditation pillow, a small table, a mat and maybe a nice throw rug.
C. Add a touch of nature. Meditation is all about connecting with nature and your surrounds. By adding an element of nature, you space becomes infused with balance and harmony. You can place your favourite plant, a vase of flowers, a jar of shells, a small water feature or whatever else it is that you find beautiful in nature.
D. Soothe your soul with music. Music is not necessary however if you live in a noisy city, a piece of soothing music or chants will help bring tranquillity and peace. Alternatively, you can add a small fountain in your meditation room. The crisp trickling sound of water will also make the room soothing and serene.
E. Create a beautiful aroma. It helps you stay focused and fills your space with beautiful and soothing energies. You can put some incense, aromatic oils or candles with meditative scents in the room. If you use candles, it can be very meditative to just watch the flame flicker.
F. Personalize your space. To make your meditation space more personal and tranquil, you can add anything that soothes your soul. You can add bells and chimes, a statue of Buddha, affirmation stones, crystals, beads or any artwork that provides you with immense peace and serenity. You can also get the room painted in your favourite colors. If you download the Insight Timer app, or if you already have it, please feel free to add me as a friend.
“If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.” ― Amit Ray

day two and three
Good evening, everyone. I was too tired again to write anything yesterday so here’s a compilation of Friday and Saturday’s activities. I’m pushing myself to stay awake even though it’s 8pm here. So far, I’ve been getting really sleepy around this time every night. Maybe it’s jet lag?
Friday morning, I awoke around 9 and had every intention of setting out about 10 but my phone wasn’t charging so I had to wait for it to charge. If I’m honest, that’s one of the only reasons you got that first blog post.
Around 12, I set out for lunch with a friend in tow! A woman staying in the same hostel dorm as me was leaving at the same time and we decided to be each other’s travel companion for the day. At first, I was a little hesitant to agree to spend a sightseeing visit with a total stranger. I knew that was the benefit of hostels and I already had experience meeting several interesting people already. However, going on a day trip with someone new was out of my comfort zone.
It ended up being lovely. We got breakfast/lunch and then set out to the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis. It was a pleasant walk, about 20 minutes, from the hostel to the Cathedral area. On the way there, we got to see some of the great architecture that Glasgow has to offer. One particular building was especially peculiar. Standing alone, it’s stone was very weathered and it had a “To Let” sign. Adjacent to it was a bar aptly named Old College Bar. (pictures are coming as soon as I can get AirDrop to work.) As we stopped to take a photo, a woman came up behind us and gave us a little history of what we were looking at. The tall, weathered building used to the be the cornerstone of the old Glasgow University campus and the bar is the oldest bar in Glasgow. It’s so old, it used to be a hose and carriage public house. Sadly, they’re being taken down soon since the foundations are falling apart. I’m glad we got pictures when we did.
The patron saint of Glasgow is St. Mungo so next to the Cathedral was the St. Mungo's Museum of Religious Life and Art (which was cute and small and had a nice interfaith collection). The Cathedral also had the tomb of St. Mungo. All I really know about St. Mungo (thanks, Wikipedia) is that he founded Glasgow and built the church while providing missionary work. He performed four miracles which, in my honest opinion, sound really ridiculous to me. From Wikipedia: In the Life of Saint Mungo, he performed four miracles in Glasgow. The following verse is used to remember Mungo's four miracles:
Here is the bird that never flew
Here is the tree that never grew
Here is the bell that never rang
Here is the fish that never swam
The verses refer to the following:
The Bird — Mungo restored life to a robin, that had been killed by some of his classmates.[6] The Tree — Mungo had been left in charge of a fire in Saint Serf's monastery. He fell asleep and the fire went out. Taking a hazel branch, he restarted the fire.[8] The Bell — the bell is thought to have been brought by Mungo from Rome. It was said to have been used in services and to mourn the deceased. The original bell no longer exists, and a replacement, created in the 1640s, is now on display in Glasgow. The Fish — refers to the story about Queen Languoreth of Strathclyde who was suspected of infidelity by her husband. King Riderch demanded to see her ring, which he claimed she had given to her lover. In reality the King had thrown it into the River Clyde. Faced with execution she appealed for help to Mungo, who ordered a messenger to catch a fish in the river. On opening the fish, the ring was miraculously found inside, which allowed the Queen to clear her name. (This story may be confused with an almost identical one concerning King Maelgwn of Gwynedd and Saint Asaph.)
I suppose I can’t hate too much. That last one is pretty impressive.
The Cathedral had a Lower Church which added to it’s mystique. It felt like descending into a more private and intimate part of the cathedral. It was beautiful and held the tomb of St. Mungo along with a lovely, small worship space and other nooks and crannies.
The Necropolis was my favorite part. It is a huge space, much bigger than I thought it would be. It was just row upon row of old gravestones, some falling over or weathered beyond legibility. There were huge and ornate mausoleums, often with large, wrought iron gates barring access. There wasn’t anything stopping you from going off the path. We could climb up stairs that went to little grave verandas and in one case, we could just climb up a hill and scale a wall if we had wanted. The atmosphere was muted and very peaceful. Glasgow isn’t a very bustling city to begin with but it was extra peaceful here. It was so expansive that even the other tourists didn’t bother us and it felt like we could have the run of the place.
On our way back to city centre, we stopped at Old College Bar (how could we not?) to get a pint or two. We walked in and every single person in the bar was a man over 50. Classic. Regardless, we had a fun time sitting and chatting. There was some giggling at our presence but we were mostly left alone. Eventually, one of the more friendly of a group of men sitting close by asked where we were from. When they heard I was American, they asked me about Trump and gave their opinion on the matter. They don’t like him (surprise) but we had lots of laughs at his expense. It’s been interesting to get outsider perspectives on American politics. I’d like to hear more but I also don’t want to bring it up..
Today, I went to Edinburgh. I woke up early to re-pack my things, check out of the hostel, run to the post office to pick up my biometrics recording card, and then catch a noon bus to Edinburgh. The plan was flawless except they did not have my BRC yet. It means that I have to go back to Glasgow and hope they have it when I arrive.
The bus ride was short and easy. Aside from a very rowdy bachelorette party in the back, it was mostly uneventful. One of my favorite parts was watching the scenery fly by and as we got closer to the city, a dense fog descended very suddenly. I could just see the grass and the bushes and as I was watching, a huge blade of a wind turbine swooped into view. I happened to be listening to intense music at the time which heightened the drama of the wind turbine’s appearance considerably.
Edinburgh is a beautiful city. The architecture hits you as soon as you pass it’s border. From ornate window decorations to delicate parapets and beautiful stone work - the whole city is full of gorgeous buildings. Like Glasgow, it’s very clean and the traffic laws are just as confusing. There are more hills here than there were in Glasgow and trekking up two massive hills in a row hauling my heavy suitcase behind me was not the highlight of my day.
My hostel is staffed by really friendly people. The tenants are generally younger than the hostel I was at previously and they also seem to already be in groups. I was feeling especially lonely today and seeing all the groups only exacerbated the feeling. I did meet another girl in my dorm who is traveling solo and working at the same time. She has this great arrangement where she works remotely and then has the ability to travel wherever she likes. She’s French-Canadian and she started in Prague and then began moving all over Europe and plans on continuing through June. I’m quite envious of that arrangement. It sounds ideal.
I called it an early night in preparation for what I hope will be a full day of sight seeing and then diving into the nightlife. Hopefully after a good night’s sleep I’ll be more eager to go out and make friends.
Tomorrow is Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, and Holyrood Park. Wish me luck.

Why the even more you play the overall game, the even more valuable the BRC?
Lately, the Baer Chain game ecological platform OASIS (Oasis) was released globally, and the number of registered users exceeded 100,000 within 28 hours of heading online, which has attracted widespread interest at home and abroad. *Why is it so popular? * OASIS's "new striking" benefits have become tempting. Through lucky wheels, restricted airdrops, time-restricted auctions, open-box treasure hunts, etc., registered users have a chance to win up to 10,000 BRC every time they participate, which naturally attracts a wave of customers. However, the opportunity to attract 100,000 and an incredible number of users to really play, in the ultimate analysis, is based on the unique fun of the blockchain video game itself, the even more you play the overall game, the expectation that BRC could be more valuable, and the influence of Baer Chain being an industry evangelist.
The fun of blockchain games, traditional games can't give
1 In traditional games, LOL equipment could be replaced with chicken-eating equipment. MAY I continue enjoying? Blockchain video games can. What players get in traditional video games can only become embodied in a single video game. Whether in the digital game world or in true to life, they cannot be exchanged openly and equivalently. Transform into real prosperity. Quite simply, no matter how much time and money you devote, whatever you can end up getting are remembrances and feelings. Just like a rented house, regardless of how expensive the lease is, how much time and money it requires to renovate, the value of this house has nothing in connection with you, and everything will undoubtedly be zero after the lease phrase is full. In blockchain video games, any gear, props, etc. that you play could be circulated and traded through the platform token, so that your video game behavior can maximize the value and bid farewell to consumption with no value. That is like buying a house, all your efforts will eventually come back in worth, and there's area for appreciation! OASIS is certainly such a platform that reshapes the value of traditional video games. With BRC because the worth carrier, all the worth behaviors of players in the overall game could be reflected through BRC. It can be mentioned that the happiness that traditional video games give players can also be distributed by blockchain video games, and the happiness that blockchain video games give players cannot be distributed by traditional games. The even more players, the even more valuable the BRC 2 Many people hardly understand why the even more players in the OASIS platform, the more important the BRC? Or simply beginning from the traditional Internet thinking, convinced that the platform has a large numbers of customers, the platform token will naturally be valuable. In fact, the direct impact of OASIS Oasis on the value of BRC comes from two factors: one will be destruction and another will be lock-up. For each video game on the OASIS platform, 10% of the top-up BRC will undoubtedly be permanently destroyed, and 50% will undoubtedly be distributed being an ecological incentive to all or any players until just 21 million are usually left. Because the first video game on the OASIS platform, "Xiuxiandao" destroyed 70714.6 BRC in the initial week of its start. To do a simple arithmetic, a casino game on the OASIS platform burns 70,000 weekly, 100 video games are 7 million, per month is 28 million, and per year will be 336 million. In this manner, the goal of only 21 million pieces left may be accomplished soon.
Moreover, due to the hot start of the OASIS platform and long-phrase optimism concerning the BRC ecological growth, the Dundun Neighborhood Global Alliance announced that it will implement a continuing lock-up mechanism for the BRC recharged because of its video game "Navigator" to strategically invest in the Baer Chain O+ video game ecological alliance. As of November 21, the full total recharge of "THE FANTASTIC Voyager" has been 102,356,900 BRC, which greatly reduced the number of circulation in the secondary market. Things are usually precious. When there are even more players on the OASIS platform, there will be even more BRC recharges, and naturally even more BRC will undoubtedly be ingested or locked up. We can benefit from the long-phrase appreciation of BRC whilst having fun doing offers. Being an industry evangelist, players can trust 3 Being an evangelist in the blockchain video game industry, Baer Chain has been cultivating for several years since the project premiered in 2017, ecological construction in 2018, and ecological worth integration in 2019, and contains recently been at the forefront of the track. At present, Baer Chain has achieved technology priority and brand precipitation, and has a certain moat. The OASIS platform will also open the API user interface and set up the developer ecological alliance "O+", allowing more video game developers to build up and operate video games based on the Baer Chain ecology on the OASIS platform, and jointly create a new era of blockchain video games empire. In addition, the OASIS platform will also open interpersonal and online celebrity live broadcast functions to carry a wider range of traffic. It can be said that the long-term layout of Bell Chain, the center of the king has never changed, and the energy of the king has never been reduced! The OASIS platform based on Baer Chain will be naturally worthy of players' trust and participation!
