“Let me help you”

I was thinking Kakashi…surprise surprise...but really anyone you’re comfortable writing for/with…just love me some hurt/comfort (sorry if this is too vague!) hope your day is less annoying now :)

Kakashi shouldn't be here. What was he thinking?

It's bad enough he's already gotten blood on the window and now on the bathroom door.

Akami is not going to be pleased.

His fingers tremble as he tries to open the meager first aid kit she keeps under the sink. He's perched on the side of the bathtub, legs too shaky to stand.

As he sheds his flak vest, letting it fall back into the tub behind him, Kakashi wonders where Akami is. He expected her to be home when he tumbled through her window. The eerie emptiness of the house makes him uneasy so late in the evening.

Is he really here? Or has he hallucinated his return? Maybe he's still lying in that field, rain and blood pooling beneath his body--indistinguishable from one another as they mix in the mud.

Kakashi's breath heaves as he tries to apply disinfectent to the wound. He could try to heal it with medical ninjutsu, but his fingers are too shaky. And anyway, he's never been a very good medic. With his vision swimming, now, he might make the wound worse if he tried.

He yelps a little when he finally gets a good amount of the stuff on his wound. Fuck, that hurts.

He doesn't like to admit the wave of relief he feels when he hears the front door open and close, feels Akami's chakra step inside the house. He pushes the door open with his foot so she won't think someone's trying to hide from her.

Her footsteps are soft against the floor, but he can sense they're heavier than usual. Kakashi looks up when she stops in the doorway and it becomes clear why--Sasuke is asleep in her arms, head drooped against one of her shoulders.

Oh. He shouldn't have come here.

Akami glares down at him, the dark circles beneath her eyes standing starkly out against the pallor of her skin. She says nothing, just sucks her teeth and continues on to Sasuke's bedroom. Kakashi can just hear the sounds of his sheets shifting as she tucks him into bed.

He should leave. Clearly, Akami is not interested in entertaining him this evening.

When she returns to the bathroom, she closes the door behind her quietly and kneels down before him without a word. Normally, he'd love this--seeing her on her knees does things to him he isn't necessarily proud of--but she looks so exhausted now all he feels is guilt.

"Sorry," he says, his breath pushing a few strands of hair away from her face.

Her gilded eyes flick up to meet his briefly and she sighs. "It's fine."

It isn't. "I'll go."

She rolls her eyes. "Don't be stupid, you're already here. There's blood everywhere to prove it."

Kakashi winces, bites his tongue before he says sorry again, knowing she'll just be irritated if he does.

"Is Sasuke okay?" he asks instead.

Akami heaves a sigh, lets her forehead drop to Kakashi's knee. "He had a fever last night and it wouldn't go down. We've been at the Hospital all day."

Her fingers tremble almost as badly as his when she takes the disinfectant from him. He resists, not wanting to burden her any further than he already has. "Akami, it's okay, I've got it."

"Just let me help you," she snaps, glaring at him again, her pupils filed to the finest slits. "That's why you're here, right? For my help?" he nods mutely, recognizing that her irate energy is not entirely a product of his bloody appearance in her bathroom, but the culmination of all the stress Sasuke's condition surely caused her over the past twenty-four hours. "So let me help you," she repeats quietly.

"Okay," he says, relinquishing the bottle and the blood-soaked rag he'd used to apply it.

Akami cleans his wound without another word, wiping it clean and applying an antiobiotic ointment before wrapping a gauze bandage over it with much more finesse than he could have managed on his own.

"You should go to the Hospital tomorrow to have it better tended to," she says.

Normally, Kakashi would argue or lie, but he doesn't have the heart to do that to her now, so instead he threads his fingers into her hair and pulls her close so he can kiss her forehead through his mask.

"Okay," he promises, feeling her relax in his grip, her own hands coming to rest on his thighs, anchor herself. "I'm sorry about Sasuke," he says, "That must have been terrifying." She nods mutely, biting her lower lip in an uncharacteristic bid to keep her emotions from slipping out. "I'm glad he's feeling better."

Her voice is thready and thin when she answers, "Me, too."

There's still blood to clean off the window. And the doorway and the tub, but they ignore it, opting instead to make their way to Akami's bedroom where Kakashi lies on his good side and pulls her close. There will be blood to clean off the sheets in the morning, too, but that's a problem for then. All that matters now is that their breathing synchronizes, their nerves stop rapid-firing and the fight-or-flight they've both felt for different reasons over the previous hours dissipates.

Because there can be no danger while they hold one another. Akami is Kakashi's safe harbor. He thinks he might be hers, too. Suddenly, he's glad he stumbled through her window bloody and trembling and dazed. Not because she helped clean his wound, but so he can be here for her when she needs him.

There's nowhere else he'd rather be.

i’ve got one more question for you actually! not necessarily for the video, just out of curiosity: there’s a moment in s2e7 where madeleine mumbles something to herself before santiago comes over to hypnotize her. i actually asked roxane on twitter about it and she (tragically) thought i was asking what santiago said to her, and said he’d been speaking in a made up language. (which is also so fun to know, lol) t’s entirely possible she was, too, then, but it did Sound vaguely french so i was wondering if you’d be able to hear it anymore clearly than me. longer shot here as i’m sure it probably was just. A Noise lol (& thank you again for your help w the earlier question! i was once a french student but years out of practice so thank you for your patience with me💕)

Okay so I rewatched it and I was able to make out what she says, except for the very last word (if anyone can work it out...).

She says "Pourquoi je suis là ? Pourquoi ils me regardent [unintelligible] ?"

Which means "Why am I here? Why are they watching me [...]?

Part One because there is NO WAY that I will not have any more thoughts after re-reading and reading volume 5 like what the fuck, what the actual fuck.

The way Chu Wanning LITERALLY HAS THEM IN HIS ARMS???? WITH TIANWEN IN HIS OTHER HAND??? BECAUSE HE LITERALLY LOOKS OUT FOR THEM????? AND PROTECTS THEM???????? anyways, I love Chu Wanning. Chu Wanning my beloved. He is literally so gorgeous and I don’t care what everyone says in that universe about him because like if I saw him, I would literally also pull off a Mo Ran and beg for him to be my shizun.

The Xia Sini arc. That’s it. Literally my favorite arc, I WILL NOT fucking shut up about it. That arc healed something in me if you exclude the murder mysteries slasher movie elements to it. Ask me about it and I will answer every single one of your questions including the meaning of life.

MengMeng. Just… MengMeng because he occupies 28% of my thoughts following closely to Jiang Cheng who occupies 37%.

The Lake Jincheng moment when they get drugged and put to sleep and Mo Ran having that incredibly vivid dream about Chu Wanning getting violated by someone else and so he’s enraged and is like “I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS TO VIOLATE CHU WANNING”??? Like, what the hell was that?? Actually, what the hell was that whole Lake Jincheng arc????

On the topic of the Lake Jincheng arc, that whole bit with Xue Meng and him getting crushed over the fact that not only does he NOT get a holy weapon because everything was a lie, but also the fact that his previously orphaned nephew who came from such… horrible background got the only remaining true holy weapon?? I felt his pain so hard, dude. Like, Xue Meng, I feel you. I understand your pain.

Shi Mei feeling up Mo Ran because he wasn’t paying attention to him and was being extra nice to Chu Wanning instead???? Like… what??? Can’t you be normal please???? I’m so sorry, I genuinely dislike the “sweet like honey” type characters because they always turn out to be assholes and I just can’t trust them maybe it’s also trauma and my trust issues but like goddamn Mo Ran literally have bad tastes if he liked Shi Mei I’m so sorry for saying this

Mo Ran having SUCH anxiety with his food to the point that he would literally WOLF IT DOWN in less than a day, and anything else, he hides because he’s so used to having his things taken away from him, and the relief he felt when Chu Wanning told him that there’s no need to rush because there’s always more for him when they’re eating together and just… brb I am genuinely going to cry.

I am never getting over looking up Yuwu and 2ha connections, ONLY TO COME BACK FROM GETTING SPOILED THAT CHU WANNING IS MADE FROM WOOD?????

On a similar note, I was looking up Nangong Si because I wanted to see official art of him and found out that not only A) does he die (I actually went through a whole bit of copium this morning in the shower ober this because I randomly remembered it and was like “no he doesn’t… wait… does he… noo.. no… nooo…) but also B) Ye Wangxi is a female????

Now that I know about Chu Wanning literally being carved from wood, I can’t stop agonizing over Chu Wanning’s thoughts where he would compare his features to someone like… say, Shi Mei. How pained must it feel for him to have these thoughts knowing that he was MADE BY HAND. The facial features on him such as nose, jawline, chin… EVERYTHING was deliberately carved to look that way. That would honestly fuck me up so badly, especially since I also have my grievances about my appearance.

Although,,, to be honest, I actually don’t know if Chu Wanning is even aware of his own origins but IF HE DID, it probably fucks him up a ton. And I agonize over this every. single. day. Oh god, I just also remembered the part where Mo Ran specifically says to him: “Chu Wanning, are you made of wood?” Ohhh OHHHH OUCHIEEEE. VERY. OUCHIEEE.

Another thing that drove me insane is the scene in volume 3 (I’m pretty sure?) with the wontons where Mo Ran is narrating and lamenting over how he couldn’t remember what his shizun’s expression looked like when he shoved off the wontons Chu Wanning made… because he just…. couldn’t care less….. and just…. Knowing that Chu Wanning was the one who has been making Mo Ran’s wontons this entire time knowing that he would like them?? I literally CANNOT even begin to imagine the types of expressions that he could have possibly been making.

Just… like… Imagine being Chu Wanning, and you care SO MUCH about Mo Ran to the point that you are willing to sacrifice your own feelings for the sake of his happiness knowing that he likes your other disciple that is “much better looking”, and despite that, go out of your way to make him spicy wontons, even though you are not that good at making food AND dislike spicy foods. And then you make his favorite food to try to get him to cheer up even a little bit when one of your disciples (and your crush’s crush) dies and you proooobably blame yourself for it and not only does he essentially say “fuck you and your food” but he blames you and basically tells you that you’re a horrible person (which you most likely already blame yourself for and agonize over so now it also feels like someone else is confirming your sense of guilt) . Like, I would NOT be okay after that. I’m usually good at not showing my feelings but this would truly devastate me and fuck me up a lot to the point that I wouldn’t even know what to do.

More time travel AU thoughts that were originally a reply to @softesttangerines' fantastic thoughts here. This was a reblog, but then I got carried away (like 700+ words of carried away), so I'm making it its own post to not break my mobile dashboard lol. Includes some stuff on teenage Shanks' mindset, current Benn's perspective on meeting teenage Shanks again, and a little bit of Mihawk's perspective on teenage Shanks + their relationship both past and current at the end.

I agreed with everything too hard and then ended up with a megapost. Oops.

Teenage Shanks’ mindset and misconceptions is something I’ve thought about a lot for this AU. Arguably too much. First off, his recklessness? He doesn’t have a fantastic value on his own wellbeing, and it’s still a bit different with his crew — he wouldn’t want to get hurt and leave them high-and-dry without a captain because it wouldn’t be fair to them, but he still doesn’t fully get that they’d be upset about it because they care about him, not just his title.

I think Benn in the original timeline eventually comes to understand this through some odd comments/implications/behaviors from Shanks, but it isn’t stated outright and takes a good while to hit. Plus, by the point Benn has a real inkling about it, Shanks has gotten with the program, so it never lines up to have a time where Benn would really intervene.

(Adding in a note here for me yelling into a pillow because yes that’s 1000% what I was going for with Benn meeting teenage Shanks again and I am Elated. “You might as well take his title” brb going to go cry a whole puddle at that.)

Current Benn? Absolutely yelling at his younger self about how obvious it is and how did he miss it?? (Actual answer: Shanks hadn’t told him a lot about his childhood yet, and he’s not a mind reader. He’s still upset about it, though.) Teenage Shanks is a conundrum of keeping people too close and too far away all at the same time. He loves his crew, but with how recent it’s been since the whole Oro Jackson disbanding and him basically being on his own… the kid has some funky abandonment issues of letting himself believe this crew really is going to last.

And this crew isn’t even his crew. Their captain is missing because he’s the one there now — what are they going to do if he doesn’t return? What’ll happen to him? (Benn’s definitive breaking point is Shanks finally hitting his limit of how much he can bottle up and asking what’ll happen with him if their Shanks can’t come back? Because to him, the answer is he’s not entirely sure but it certainly involves Shanks still staying with them, and to think Shanks doesn’t implicitly understand that is upsetting, and he’s fixing that, now.)

(That part is actually somewhat written, so I really want to post it soon now, haha.)

Fic plot side tangent: while they know it’s likely Devil Fruit shenanigans that caused the whole fiasco, they don’t know if it’s a swap of the two Shanks in the same timeline, a swap with a different timeline, or something else (ex: de-aging). The actual answer is that it effectively creates an alternate/split timeline, so there’s nothing to worry about, but there’s the concern that if they change things for Shanks too much, something will go Wrong.

Benn is by far the one to stick with that the most at first (maybe tied by Mihawk) and he does end up sticking with that to an extent — it works fine for major “plot points” so to speak. But interpersonal stuff? Once Benn starts realizing what he missed the first time around… yeah no, that’s getting fixed like you said. If doing that causes issues down the line, then so be it, but he can’t in good conscience let some of that go.

Mihawk’s bits keep getting cut short because I go on for so long about Benn’s perspective RIP. But yes 100% to all of that. Mihawk may not admit ever (or even fully to himself) that he had his own share of mishandlings in the past, but he’s at a point where there definitely is a hint of regret of how far away he held Shanks for so long, knowing what was to come now. (However, I like to equally think his slight moments of conceding are also out of the knowledge that Shanks wormed his way into his life once — he can definitely do it again in his own time, even better and quicker with some guidance.)

He does 100% think this Shanks is endearing, though — how could you not? At the same time, it definitely reaffirms his appreciation for his Shanks and who he grew into being once day.

(Also: wheezing over Shanks asking Benn for love advice to win over Mihawk. That man has really been put through it, haha.)

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

Six. I really need to cross-post some stuff, including what I wrote for Steddie Love Month and the Flufftober Spring Event.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

16,565 words.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Stranger Things and let me tell you, the brainrot is not subsiding (it is settling in to fester now).

4. What are your top 5 3 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes! And I'm sure my answers are always too long-winded 😂 It makes me so happy to get comments on the silly things I write. Actually, brb, I'm sure in the initial excitement, I have forgotten to respond to some here and there.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

This ficlet (WARNING: BREAK UP FIC). Life got hectic during Eddie Month so I only wrote a couple of things and this one hurrrrt baaad.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmm, tough to pick seeing as I usually write happy endings. Lol, the number of times I ended something with Steddie kissing or saying, "I love you". I think I'll go with the entirety of my Joanie Munson AU because it's where I aim to be as fluffy/sappy as possible.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I am extremely thankful that so far I haven't. And I am sending all my love and hugs to people who deal with/have dealt with hateful comments.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Steve Harrington & Eddie Munson vs. A Box of Condoms is the closest I have come (hehe, pun). Idk, I struggle to write smut. I'm much better with suggestive language and innuendo, but somehow this fic got the balance right and honestly, gave me a lot of confidence!

10. Do you write crossovers?

No. But I need everyone to know that I have a Riverdale x ST crossover sloshing around in my brain juice on the regular.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. But now I'm paranoid *also proceeds to have an existential crisis about ai scraping my very internet-based soul.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but I'm more than welcome for someone to reach out.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No. I am absolutely open to it though! The closest to a collab I have done is Just a Shirt in which I wrote a whole fic from some incredible tags that were left on a ficlet.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I mean, it's gotta be Steddie right? I've never had a hyperfixation give me brainrot like this. Though, if we go back to lame teenage me, the ship that really got me into the fic/tumblr sphere was Sterek.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

I have been returning to a few wips I thought I had abandoned lately, so never say never. I firmly believe in taking a break if something isn't working out and circling back with fresh eyes.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Despite how I am probably answering most of these questions (lmao), I think I am pretty good at keeping my writing concise and moving it right along. It's not that I rush writing, but I am good at recognising when something I have written begins to meander. I like writing dialogue where people are cutting each other off, and crafting stuff that is a quick little ficlet etc. Having said this...

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptive language. I always get so caught up in action and dialogue that I easily forget descriptions of surroundings, objects, clothes etc. Funnily enough, right now I am working on a few quick visual aids (flash-sheet style sketches) for my Steddie BB fic of things that I need to keep in mind/remember to describe as a strategy that will hopefully help.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I could never do it (I only speak English), but honestly, kudos to you if you do/can!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Stranger Things is the first fandom I have written for.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

I swear to god this isn't a plug, but I thiiiiink it might be the wip I am oh-so-close to finishing. It's basically a character study of Steve's Mom and is her POV of the end of season 3. I have shared some snippets in the STWG server (and complained during writing sprints). I just need to do a solid edit and get a vibe-check read-through from someone else then it's good to go!!!

He finishes reading it outloud to look at Beatrice who was now standing in front of him with her hands in front of her mouth, eyes wide and blood gone from her face. Her eyes brimmed with tears, “Brad!” she squeaks, fanning her eyes and trying her hardest not to cry “Honey!!” she is bouncing on her feet because she can’t contain her excitement.

Her husband is actually too shocked to do anything. “I…”

“Brad!” she lunges towards him,wrapping her arms around his neck, the letter fluttering down to the floor as the two fall on the couch. He holds her hips with his hands and softens her fall by turning to the side instead of letting her lie on top of him…not that she could. Beatrice cups his face with both hands, kissing him repeatedly while laughing, “Oh my God!You did it!” he’s still speechless, “Honey?”

Rooster blinks in disbelief, his mind racing to process the news. He holds Beatrice tightly, his arms encircling her, as he slowly begins to comprehend the significance of the letter. A mixture of emotions floods through him—joy, pride, and a touch of disbelief.

He was good but he wasn’t going to ignore humbleness.

"Baby," he finally manages to say, his voice filled with awe "I... I can't believe it. Lieutenant Commander." He hugs her tightly, burying his face in her neck, his voice muffled by her shoulder. "I can’t believe this actually happened."

Beatrice pulls back slightly, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "You did it, Brad," she says, her voice filled with pride. "You absolutely deserve it." She places a gentle kiss on his forehead before pulling him into another tight embrace. "I'm so proud of you."

He smiles, a radiant expression of happiness spreading across his face. "I couldn't have done it without you," he whispers, his voice full of gratitude. "You know that,right?

Beatrice brushes away a tear that escapes from her eye, a wide grin on her face. "We're going to celebrate," she declares, her voice brimming with excitement. "We'll do something special to commemorate this achievement. You deserve it."

“Well,we have our date.”

“But that was already planned.” she pouts, “No, we need something more.”

“Do we? I kinda like us going on a date.”

Beatrice huffs, pushing him on the couch so he sits upright before climbing on his lap, wrapping his neck with her arms and bringing him closer, “Brad…well,I mean,I’m okay with it too but…” she draws circles on his shirt, “I mean you deserve something more, maybe we can add to what you have already planned? Can…we do that?”

He blinks at her for a few seconds, then avoids her eyes to look to the side as he thinks on it, “...well,” he tsks quietly, “I can do that.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah,sure, I can call the place and work on it.”

Rooster grins, the excitement in Beatrice's eyes contagious. He wraps his arms around her waist, holding her close as he looks into her eyes. "We'll make it even more special. I'll call the place and see what we can arrange to add some extra surprises and make it a truly unforgettable celebration."

Beatrice's face lights up with a bright smile, her fingers gently running through his hair. "That sounds perfect," she replies, her voice filled with anticipation. "I know whatever you plan will be amazing.And remember we’ll celebrate you too." she softens on his hold, sitting fully on his thighs,”How do you feel about it? Did you expect this promotion?”

Rooster hums, brushing his fingers over the delicate fabric of her dress, “...I had a feeling but I wasn’t expecting it so soon.” he frowns, still rubbing his thumb over the tiny flowers, “I think I was too angry and worried to think it was already coming.”

“I understand.” she says while caressing his arms, smiling sweetly at him,”But you are really good at it and,well, I think we both knew it’d happen. We talked about it a few months ago.”

“We did…it’s crazy to think I…I got a promotion.” he was happy, wasn’t he? He felt a bit conflicted about it if he was completely honest. Part of him was glad this happened but the other wondered if it was the right time to. “...I might need to talk to my future therapist about this.”

“Huh?”

He shakes his head with a smile, “Nothing, just talking out loud.” he sighs, leaning back on the couch and cupping her asscheeks with his hands as he purses his lips, “...anyway,” he straightens himself suddenly, making her squeak and hold onto his neck as he just picks her up in bridal style as if she weighs nothing. Now, normally he’d do that, but she’s a bit more pregnant than before and the fact he can still do that was…really good.

“Um…well,” she clears her throat as he carries them out of the room, her legs moving in the air, ‘You didn’t tell me where we’re going.”

“I didn’t.”

She blinks, ‘...and you aren’t going to.”

He chuckles quietly, ‘No, not really.” he kisses her forehead, “Relax, it’ll be fun.”

Beatrice giggles, her arms tightening around Rooster's neck as he carries her in his arms. She rests her head on his shoulder, enjoying the feeling of being effortlessly lifted by him. "Well, I trust you," she says playfully. "I know it'll be wonderful, you haven’t made me regret anything yet."

Rooster carries her through the house, heading towards the front door. "Just a little surprise," he teases, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You'll find out soon enough." He opens the door, stepping outside with Beatrice still in his arms.

She looks around, the anticipation growing as she wonders where they might be going. "Are we going far?" she asks, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Rooster smirks, his gaze meeting hers. "Not too far," he replies cryptically. "But far enough for it to be special."

“Hmmmm…”

“You aren’t trying to get it out of me,” he carries her up the stairs, “Are you?” and Beatrice looks like a deer in the headlights because that was exactly what she was doing, “You have to wait for it, be patient,gorgeous.”

“I am patient.” she huffs, crossing her arms, “Just tell me, do I need to dress nice for it? Go formal?”

Rooster chuckles, his grip on Beatrice secure as he ascends the stairs. He reaches their bedroom and gently sets her down on their bed, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, let's just say you'll want to look nice," he teases, leaning closer to kiss her forehead..

Beatrice pouts, her curiosity growing stronger. "You're not giving me much to work with,Roos" she complains, crossing her arms. "But fine, I'll trust you. I'll dress up and be ready for anything."

Rooster smirks, leaning in closer to her. "That's my girl," he says, his voice low and filled with affection. "I promise it'll be worth the wait."

Beatrice's expression softens, a warm smile spreading across her face. She reaches out to gently trace her fingers along Rooster's jawline. "I trust you," she says softly. "I know you'll make it special, just like you always do."

Rooster leans into her touch, I do my best," he murmurs, his voice full of sincerity. "Now, why don't you go call your parents?See if they can stay with Nikki. If not I can always call Mav, I know he’d love to have her…and if your dad is okay enough for it too.”

Ever since Rafael’s hospital scare, everything has been threaded very lightly, honestly they haven’t been going to the Schiavoni’s house as often as they did out of fear that the visits could make the patriarch somehow feel worse, “I’ll call them, my dad is better though and I’m sure he’d appreciate having Nicole by. I know Leo has been keeping the girls close out of worry too,” she brings the phone to her ear as she smiles at him, “Can you check-”

He’s already out of the room, “Yes ma’am,going right now.” and he winks at her before disappearing towards Nicole’s nursery. He peeks inside, the little moon shaped light shines in the corner and illuminates just enough of Nicole’s sleeping frame inside her crib. She has both of her legs pressed against the gates, as if she’s sitting while lying down and her head is pointed right at the door so Rooster can see some of that golden brown hair peeking from under her tiger onesie’s hoodie.

Rooster smiles fondly at the sight of their daughter peacefully sleeping in her crib. He tiptoes closer, careful not to disturb her. Gently, he reaches out to tuck the stray strands of hair behind her ear, inside the hoodie his touch light and tender. The soft glow of the nightlight casts a warm, comforting ambiance in the room.

He stands there for a moment, taking in the serene scene, feeling a swell of love and gratitude in his heart. He sighs, still looking down at her with his smile widening, “You are so cute…you’ll be nice tonight,right? Mama and papa are going out.” she obviously doesn’t reply, in fact she just hums and looks away while rolling on her crib, hoodie falling off her head.

He hears Beatrice speaking to her mother, he knows because of the constant reassurance that everyone is fine, followed by a ‘yes mama’ that is a mix of annoyed and appreciative at the same time. It doesn’t take long for her to finish the call and eventually appear by the door, “She asleep?” she asks quietly, her appearance made the dogs lift their heads in surprise followed by Rooster nodding, “Oh,good, well, my parents said yes.”

And for a second, his smirk turned almost too pleasant, “Good.”

“Hm.”

“What?”

“You know,” she begins, “I love surprises, Rooster,I truly do but this is the first time you put something over my eyes.” she is sitting with her hands over her lap on the bronco, pursing her lips, “You really don’t want me to know where we’re going.” she doesn’t see him looking at her appreciatively as he drives, keeping an eye on the road as well of course. But she looks so nice with that dress - he knows the choice of something loose yet so much like her was meant for comfort but he wasn’t complaining.

He always loved her dresses.

“It’s for a good reason.” her reply didn’t sound convinced, “I swear.” as soon as he sees the place he smirks, “We’re almost there.”

“Hm.” she purses her lips even more as she tries to hold back her smile, leaning back into her seat with her arms crossing, ‘I’m counting on it,Lieutenant-Commander.” his sharp intake of air when she said it wasn’t missed by Beatrice, who just giggled back at him.”

“You are evil.” he said after a few seconds, running his hand over his face because he was already getting hot.

The car glides along the familiar streets, the anticipation building between them. As they approach their destination, Rooster pulls into a parking lot near a waterfront area. He turns off the engine, the car falling into a quiet stillness.

"We're here," he announces, his voice tinged with excitement. He reaches over to unbuckle his seatbelt and turns to face Beatrice, his eyes locked with hers albeit she couldn’t see it. "Ready for the surprise?"

Beatrice looks at him, her lips curled into a playful smile. "I'm always ready for your surprises," she replies, her voice filled with anticipation. "I trust you, Lieutenant-Commander."

Rooster leans closer, his hand reaching out to caress her cheek. "Careful." he walks out of the car first, opening the door for her and helping her out. She could hear traffic, she could hear people talking…and music?

“Brad?”

“I know.” she hears him moving behind her, pulling the blindfold and finally making it easy for her to open her eyes. She blinks a bit, looking around until she sees what she’s looking for. “There, you like it?”

“Oh my God!” she laughs, ‘I can’t believe it!”

They were at Trooper. The place where they had their very first date, the little 50’s style diner with the great burgers and even better music that floated around, “Oh my god! Roos! I–” she was smiling so hard her cheeks hurt, “You are too cute, I love you so much!”

He doesn’t hesitate in opening his arms so she jumps on him, kissing his lips repeatedly before looking back at the place, “It still looks the same, it’s been…a while huh?”

“Almost five years, gorgeous.” he holds out his hand for her to take and the two wander inside. It’s really just the same, inside and outside, the tiles, the seats, even the smell of strong floral scented cleaner is there.

Beatrice's eyes light up with joy as she takes in the familiar surroundings. She looks at Rooster, not being able to hide how giddy she was. "I can't believe you remembered," she says, her voice filled with awe. "This place holds such a special place in my heart."

Rooster smiles, his eyes glistening with affection. "How could I forget?" he replies, his voice filled with warmth. "It’s special for us,baby."

They find a cozy booth by the window, just like they did on their first date, in fact it was the very same seat from their first date. They settle into their seats, the nostalgia washing over them. The waitress approaches with a warm smile, handing them menus. Rooster glances at Beatrice, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "What would you like,gorgeous?"

Beatrice chuckles, her fingers tracing the menu. "Hmm, tough choice," she muses. "But I think I'll go with the panini and the lemonade…just like the first time."

Rooster nods approvingly, his smile widening. "Excellent choice," he says, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "And I'll have the burger and a coke, just like the first time."

As they wait for their food, they set the menus aside and Beatrice crosses her arms over the table with her eyes moving around, “...crazy.” she smiles, “That…we’re here again after so long,Roos.”

He smirks, interlocking his fingers in front of his mouth as he looks at her..and that scene makes her smile, laughing softly, “...what are you doing?”

“Nothin’” , he replies, “Just lookin’ at you.” it’s like everything all over again. It feels…magical and almost surreal. She huffs in disbelief, leaning back on the seat to look towards the outside, to the same street that they walked towards the old theater.

She rubs her fingers together for a little bit, chewing her lower lip, ‘...this is a great surprise. But…I don’t think you can schedule things here?”

“Well,I could ask them to keep this seat saved up.” he shrugs, “That’s all I had them do.” he smirks however, keeping his eyes on her, “...you are so beautiful.” her cheeks turn red and their conversation halts for a brief second as the waitress brings their orders. Bea clears her throat while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, looking up at him after a while and seeing he had the same look on his face as before.

And she had to admit, most of the dinner was…very good if it wasn’t for the fact her husband was looking at her very interestingly. He kept staring, every second those whisky colored eyes would lock on her and she’d just have goosebumps all over her whole body.

With every word and every glance, the air between them becomes charged with electricity. The nostalgia of being back in their special place, combined with the undeniable chemistry they share, creates a palpable tension in the air.

Beatrice clears her throat, her voice slightly shaky. "You know," she says softly, her eyes locked with his, "we don't have to rush home after dinner. We could...extend our celebration."

Rooster's eyes darken with desire, his voice husky as he responds, "I was hoping you'd say that." He reaches across the table, his fingers gently caressing her hand. "I have some things in mind…but you have to say if you agree with it or not.”

“Well,lieutenant commander,” his pupils enlarge and shrink when she says that, “...I’m all ears, what do you have?”

He smirks at her, slowly standing from his seat and holding out his hand so she takes it, gently helping her up when they are done with their dinner. It’s late,Nicole is safe with her parents, they could have that right now. Beatrice smiles, her eyes glistening with love. "I love you too," she whispers, her voice filled with affection. "Now…where to?”

Rooster's smile widens, his eyes shining with excitement. "Well, my love," he says, his voice filled with anticipation, "I have one more surprise for you tonight." He opens the car door for her, waiting for her to step inside before closing it gently.

As they drive through the streets, Beatrice can feel her heart racing with anticipation. She looks at Rooster, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Where are we going?" she asks, her voice filled with excitement.

Rooster glances at her, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "It's a surprise," he replies, his voice playful. "But I promise you'll love it."

She doesn’t remember much after they arrived at the spot, which was in fact a hotel. Her husband, her lovely handsome husband, got them a hotel room for the night just so they could enjoy each other. And boy were they enjoying each other already.

It must be because of his absence for three months, that could be it. Her hands move to his hair, tugging the strands just a bit, just enough to make him grunt and melt into her grasp while his hands travel up her legs, to her hips, touching her lace underwear, “Fuck,” he mutters into her mouth, picking her up with ease and walking both of them to the bed, “Fuck I missed this so much.”

do you collect anything: vinyl and soft toys! i also like to have lots of different interesting teas in my cupboard

do you have any idols: not sure i could call anyone i like an idol of mine but i naturally want to be neil gaiman when i grow up. i also would absolutely love to be as good at words as leonard cohen was. i guess taylor swift because i love her more than almost any other musician and have done since i was 8 years old but... she's a person at the end of the day (and a billionaire which is questionable)

is there a real life friend you can be completely yourself with: i feel i can be entirely myself around @icanbeurangle, among a few other people from different parts of my life. the person who wrote my little personality bio above, along with our mutual friend, and then a couple of friends i've known since school. i've also got friends who started off as internet friends but are now irl friends (the uk is a small place) who come under this category uwu

where would you love to travel to: off the top of my head, new zealand and mexico. i'd also like to see more of wales (i only went once or twice as a small child)

-that they put SO MUCH into this season? like so much is happening at once and then they introduce additional stuff??? Felt a little rushed to me... Like were kinda already at the point of King of Scars but at the same time the SOC plotline is so ripped apart? I am confused...
