Introduction Time!

Hello world of Tumblr. Thank you for wondering onto our humble blog. We are just here for a simple reason; that being to post our art, writings, scribbles, thoughts and ideas. These things will center about the current world of pop culture, anime, books, television and movies.

So as we get started let us introduce ourselves!

I'll start us off. I just want to begin with putting the basics:

So basically I've seen a good mix of things. I love animated things, anything that is funny, stupid, or has a good story. I grew up on Disney, Cartoon Network (Adult Swim), and Nickelodeon. I didn't have cable so a lot of what I watched was on the weekends at my nana's or when we would record tapes and brought them home. We owned so many movies, and honestly I'll never grow up so anything meant for kids, I probably have seen or currently watch. If it's even somewhat popular or trendy then I try it out and see if I like it. Even with some of these I watched I didn't like them all (I know, shame on me).

I'll give you the basics of me, as best I can. I am opinionated, but not really into politics. I never really grew out of my childhood, I am easily entertained, meme's are a simple joy of mine, and I love to watch old vines. I was introduced to YouTube by Oni, and she started me off with the best: NigaHiga, = 3 (Ray William Johnson), Anna Akana, and eventually Markiplier, and so on I grew my own likes; VizziePop, Collegehumor, Buzzfeed, Pewdiepie, Boyinaband, Prince E, TheOdd1sout, Jaiden Animation (Oni's find), FailArmy, so on and so forth. I like astrology, and my sign is Tauras. I loves food, cooking and baking is a side hobby, and I'm into all the nerdy stuff like reading, drawing, role play, and gaming.

15. What was your favourite TV show as a child?

Omfg, I watched far too many shows to choose just one. I think I was most obsessed with W.I.T.C.H. and also Detective Conan (not gonna look for the translation cos you’re Spanish too anyway 😂). Also the Fairy Godparents, Brandy & Mister Whiskers, Hamtaro... and like, tons more. Ask me for any shows in particular if you want to :P

16. What’s the most thoughtful present you’ve ever received?

@paoak once re-told our story using lyrics from different songs to tell everything that happened from the moment we became friends to when we started dating, writing down the lyrics on a bunch of pieces of paper and doodling all around the words. But she took it back after giving it to me cos she hadn’t finished it and she never gave it back *sobs*

17. Would you ever become a vegan?

I do like the idea because I really do hate how the intensive livestock industry works and the way animals are exploited and slaughtered and kept in inhumane conditions. But I also think it has to be a personal choice to become a vegan, and once you start looking into it online, it’s really easy to be guilt-tripped by toxic people who claim everyone but vegans are basically monsters. Also, I have way too many food allergies and intolerances, and having a vegan diet is just unrealistic for me at this point. But I do try to check where the products I buy come from, and I mostly buy my food at the local grocery store.

(And yes, I know “vegan” applies to more things that food! But honestly, at this point in my life it’s not a priority for me to check the ethics of the brand of every single product I buy. Maybe someday.)

18. What social issue would you most like to spread awareness about?

The idea that parents should always be respected and kids owe their parents their lives and should be grateful by principle. I can’t stand the fact that there are so many parents out there who are manipulative and abusive and whose behaviours go unnoticed by the people around them.

I’ve had so many people question my decision of leaving my mother right after acknowledging what I went through, saying things like “but she’s family, she’s still your mother, she’s all alone now, she probably didn’t mean it, are you sure?” Yes. I am sure. Her being my mother doesn’t magically excuse her shitty behaviour. And I wish more people understood this about my situation and that of so many other people that are suffering.

Shitty, awful, abusive parents are a thing. A very common one. And I think we need to talk about it.

CARROT AND STICK

“Glory, Glory, Glory lads……………..stand forth with courage for a nation’s fame!!  

For fortunes await those with a will and a mind to pursue them ……….in the land of the Hindu all may prosper!!”

The by now familiar cry of the recruiting sergeant, called out to the many Campbells and Mackintosh’s and Murray’s in that land of changing light and flinty cold. By the time Major Montague Woodehouse, known as Monty by his many friends, had taken the coach from Ediburgh to Aberdeen, accompanied by his adjunct Lieutenant Hareford, who had admirably arranged passage from London to Edinburgh as well as a private hackney for the last leg of the journey, his bones had chilled and his temper had iced to stone.  

Having sampled what passed for society in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, not yet civil not quite savage, and availed himself and his men of the scots alehouses the King’s shilling having been generously scattered throughout, Major Woodehouse had fulfilled his quota of those enlisted men required by the India trade, a prerequisite of successful commerce made possible by the glorious farman, and now turned his considerable attentions to that other business.

As the coach creaked its way past the blue green mountains and sapphire lochs of the north Major Woodehouse regarded neither as he hugged his regimental woolen cape around his slim body and thanked God for good warm underwear. He fought off the feeling of being too bloody far from civilization for anybody’s pickling good and had practically given up the whole sodding mission as a wild bloody goose chase, up a dark path to sodding nowhere, as it were.

His orders had been straight forward at first.  Find a tart and get some booze.  

Loyal and devoted company man that he was, when he had reported to Major General Forester at the request of his commanding officer, two months ago he had expected some kind of promotion or bollocking. The fact that his commanding officer, the very stable Captain Briggs, had no information as to why he had been summoned to the chamber of that great man only added to the mystery.

He should not have been surprised, for it was for ambitious and able Monty’s well honed sense of loyalty and valiant discretion that his services, as ever,  were required. His grandfather had been a baronet, he was the third son of the second Earl’s daughter, so the family funds were stretching a bit thin. With no title and little prospects he had always known he would have to make his way in society, and so with joy, hope and the glamour of life still before him, he mustered his ambition, background and talents, and set about establishing a position. He did not have to wait long. For it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good lineage, must be in want of a fortune.  

It was the Company that had offered Monty, like many of his generation, desirous of pushing their fortunes abroad, a chance to establish both their reputations and their estates. On finishing his excellent education at one of England’s more exclusive houses, where he won honours both in the classroom and on the sports pitch, his future was arranged and a commission purchased. Where pleased to say, granny knew the right people, and young Monty was assigned to the Fourth, as a second lieutenant under the command of that excellent fellow, Major General Wesley in the wars of the Indies, fourth of that name.  Sailing Southampton. 

Departing after the season so as not to deprive the London drawing rooms of their spins with the young officers, young Monty, who at one point in the season seemed fit to rival Mr Byron for invitations, did his duty to society and spent a summer sending all the ladies at grannies’ receptions and their granddaughters silly in his regimentals, with his epaulets, and his britches. It was only his lack of whiskers that stopped them expiring at his essence. As the season drew to a close he took his leave of the dowagers and their granddaughters and set sail for the Indies, in search if not of a fortune, at least of a future. 

The valiant young brave wasted no time and shone like a star in the firmament under the Major General’s great notice. Soon enough young Monty was looked for, sought out and requested as much for his resourcefulness as for his connections.  It was not long, therefore before Monty was known, especially about the officer’s mess, for being the kind of fellow a chap might want to know if a chap was in a bit of a tight spot. 

He had easily proved himself up to the task of finding Captain Warpole claret for his table in Ghoona when none could be had. On campaign in Cheralan when the Major General had run out of good English snuff, it was Montyt who supplied the particular,  and his sorties into Dhadra-Nadu meant that the English rifles could keep firing even if it was with french powder. More recently his duties were closer to home and he had recently taken to disappearing certain actresses back to Bethnal Green, whenever old Brigadier Cuthbert’s good lady was down from the country.  It is unsurprising therefore, that Major General Forester, a man in a tight spot, should call on the services of the Major, given his reputation amongst the officers and men. 

So, when Major General Forester informs him he needs to escort several crates of Irish Whiskey and a trollop to India, Major Woodehouse doesn’t ask why, he doesn’t need to know that Forester and Carr, like Edmund and Burke have conspired a plan to move a donkey.

The first item on the agenda was the tart and the booze, because with a bit of luck, like his brother the Nazim of Dhadra-Nadu, our immutable Indian chief, who lacks the feelings and usages of a gentleman, may prefer wine women and song to more polite proceedings. And so Major General Forester, whose brain never had two thoughts when it could have one, determined with a singular ease of thinking “well,…………...if it worked on the Nazim” 

Despite embarrassing themselves in the field of Flanders, the French had in fact, sniffed out the Nazim early and got to Dhadra-Nadu first.  Thanks to French coin and French wine and French whores and French pox, the Nazim who prefered to spend his days in an orgy of drunken fornication enamoured of his French harlots, gifts from the Monsieur that adorned his harem, and inebriated by the French wine and French brandy that his doctors prescribed for the good of his health, had mortgaged away half the kingdom and the French have made some real money.

None of that, of course, was his concern. Following orders, he avoided Company accounts and still managed to ship the required amount of Whiskey in from Ireland and Brandy from France and had picked up a miss from one of the better London establishments for a small, negotiated fee on condition she be pox free, the Lady of that house being well disposed to do business, and considered himself halfway home.

But then he had noticed that his masters who appeared to be the Major General and his associate, a mister Carr were experiencing a little difficulty in their planning and the operation was starting to stall. He had not known about the domestic difficulties Major General Forester had been suffering but if he had he would have been secure in the knowledge that the small amount of useless information he had picked up in The Shipwreck, a hostelry in Aldwich he liked to frequent to keep his ear to the ground, was to pour balm on their troubled brows and ease their sorrows like manna  from heaven, a trip to Aberdeen was his reward.

They were searching for vials.

BOY MEETS WORLD, PROUD FAMILY, BRANDY AND MISTER WHISKERS, BUZZ ON MAGGIE, THE REPLACMENTS

For A While I Was A Cynic About My Childhood But Screw It:

High School Musical was awesome.

“That’s So Raven” was amazing.

I still watch the first three Halloweentown movies.

“The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” was cool.

Nothing will ever replace “Kim Possible” in my heart.

“Phil of the Future” doesn’t get enough credit.

I still remember Now You See It, Get a Clue!, Phantom of the Megaplex & The Scream Team. (I can’t really find a GIF for that)

I would still watch a third season of “American Dragon Jake Long”.

I wish “House of Mouse” was still on the air.

Twitches was awesome.

I never really got into “Lizzie McGuire” & “Even Stevens”…but I wish I had.

There are still songs by Hannah Montana in my iTunes library.

I’m still watch “Phineas and Ferb” with a passion.

What can I say? I was a Disney Channel kid.
