🌄 Brad Pitt & Jacob Anderson as LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC watch his last sunrise
"And so you decided to become a vampire? " he asked.
The vampire was silent for a moment. "Decided. It doesn't seem the right word. Yet I cannot say it was inevitable from the moment that he stepped into that room. No, indeed, it was not inevitable. Yet I can't say I decided. Let me say that when he'd finished speaking, no other decision was possible for me, and I pursued my course without a backward glance. Except for one."
"Except for one? What?"
"My last sunrise," said the vampire. "That morning, I was not yet a vampire. And I saw my last sunrise."

As someone who knows nothing about interview with the vampire, other than that it was about the toxic vampire couple with a child, and the fandom history, the existence of the 1994 movie is so impossible.
You are telling me Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, (who forever will be white guy type number one and two in my head), played vampires? With supposedly homoerotic tension? I thought Tom Cruise is only in movies where he can jump off planes?
Like how were the reactions when it was released? Was it like that decades twilight? Did people talk shit about the casting? The movie?Do the actors hate it with passion now?
Someone please give me the history.

It’s hard to believe that “Interview with the Vampire” came out 30 years ago…

"In the very depths of Hell, do not demons love one another?" - Anne Rice
Music: Joseph Haydn, Piano Sonata in E-flat Major
(I just couldn't bear the thought of cutting out Louis of the picture. Sort of.)

Not to be an Armand apologist, but if my significant other told me I’m fucking boring, I think I too would remove their memories.

As someone who loved and read the book as a teenager and who loved the movie version as well I really feel like they massacred the lore with this series. I haven't watched it just like I can't bring myself to watch the Ring of Powers. I don't understand how can people like it. It's probably a good show on its own but it shouldn't be called Interview with the vampire because... It's not interview with the vampire. This isn't Louis and this isn't Claudia and this isn't Armand or Lestat. They are... Other characters.
This is Louis and Lestat and no one will ever replace them:
And this is Claudia:
