#trigun stampede#trigun#vashwood#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#i think they both spent majority of their lives in solitude and ofc vash went town to town and made friendships promises and etc along the w#way + he had his home and whatnot in the long years he's been alive but he still just seemed so lonely.#in prior versions of trimax he had friends at home at least and maybe he mightv made some but luida and brad are basically just his#guardians in this adaption. like brad used to be a homie.... vash watched that little dude grow up.... and jessica too.... but he doesn't#have that in this adaption. nor a town like july where he had grown close to the townspeople and shaped that tragedy to be closer to his#heart. and wolfwood spent years fighting under the eom and doing shit under their jurisdiction when we saw him so adamantly try to reject#and fight back against that fate. i dont think he had a second at all to get familiar with townspeople or even care to#so its just these two lonely ass souls and vash immediately seeing the good in ww and points it out#ww who is under orders again to be involved in vash's business but he's also SO touchy about it bc vash is so careless and lack that self#regard and also just is not seeing the world that ww is seeing. but then vash helps him and saves him by sharing a piece of what /he/ sees#and it fucking. rescrambled ww's brain for a sec. HE GAVE HIM HOPE!!! he gave him hope!!!! and in turn ww gave vash hope too and its#all done in like 3-4 eps. there's so much fervent attachment in what they managed to give each other in such a short time#but theyre limited to the contract to the inevitable confrontation with knives - so while theyd want to give into that chance to love this#person who managed to give them smth special they just can't at all#ruporas art

They showed up the same night...it's no coincidence#Ada is known for having reliable info she shares and doing things behind the scenes uncredited IJS#RE4make made it even clearer for those who didn't have a clue ADA was against Wesker and had no bad intentions#Claire witnessing her brother's reactions to Jill and even him telling her to leave and he'd stay despite low ammo and no comms..#Sheva telling his personal business he was keeping private and his reaction which... he made no excuses for what he was doing.#And yeah I threw in some Ada/Leon stuff because Chris and Leon clearly were aware the girls were special to them plus MANY parallels exist#threw in an old ref I made about MVC3 in another post. Ward was more or less#an unknown newcomer at this point but in a couple of years she'd be a screen icons with The Thorn Birds. there's some nicely executed#scenes of suspense here‚ and a delightful playfulness at times (there's a 'where will the severed head be' tease in one scene which goes on#so long it almost becomes absurd) but the plotting is old hat and the big twists very predictable. not without its fun moments#but simultaneously this was never going to be a game changer in a genre which was already beginning to suffer from over exposure

Like uh I actually really like the movie Nemo in Slumberland problems and all, and I like the comic strip it's based off for the classic whimsy, but whenever I think about it now half my brain is thinking about the people who live in Slumberland, I'm like are they people who are also dreaming right now or were the people who lived there born there or are they actually just dreams of people who died in their sleep while the other half of my brain is literally
#its not that deep and never will be but also its public domain so#if u havent watched the film little nemo adventures in slumberland i recommend it honestly#also look into the development hell that went into making it like goddamn ghibli almost made that movie#also look into everyone who either had a hand in it at some point or who helped in the production like all the stars are here#we got fuckin chuck jones and brad bird and ray bradbury and hayao miyazaki and george lucas and isao takahata like what the fuck#the animation is really great too

Is it just me, or has every main character in lower decks gotten an on screen emotional low point this season except for the one character who desperately needs to have one?
#beckett mariner#lower decks#star trek#star trek lower decks#st lwd#lwd#like Rutherford got his little not wanting to lose his friends melt down in episode 2#Brad has had TWO emotional low points that required pep talks this season (we love an anxious king)#Tendi had her moment of needing reassurance on Orion#T'Lyn just had a big emotional low point in this episode#I guess you could argue that Beckett got an emotional low point pep talk in I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee#but it seemed... less genuine?#like she didn't open up to Ransom#Ransom psycoanalyzed her#and then she was like 'wait why would I do that?' only for us to get absolutely no follow up on that revelation#+ it doesn't hit as an emotional low point for Mariner because she has some serious unresolved emotional threads from season 3#that the others simply don't#anyways I am trying so hard to trust that the writers are building to a good emotional scene for Beckett in the next one or two episodes#but the longer the season goes on the more nervous I get

Me tryna piece together the trimax timeline

Maybe it's bc its politically a mess, or the characters are being a bit sidelined for a convoluted plot
Sylvie still is my favorite and her stance in the whole mess of Is The TVA Good And Right is the closest I agree with. But idk we will see how the season progresses but eh
#im half way into the new episode still but idk#this season hasnt been as fun to me#shut up patrex#the brad thing is just a bore for starters#it really could have worked and be quite compelling but it feels to rushed for me to care abt him at all#OB feels way 1 dimensional too#i like b15 a lot I wish she had more screen time#victor is fine the guy is obviously an amazing actor that I think is being given subpar stuff to work with#anyone that wasnt as good as an actor would turn this character into hot garbage#and tbh the plot isnt even convoluted#the time travel aspects are basic as hell#i think its just too many players and not giving each the time to make their point or make their points well#the whole thing abt that branch of the TVA trying to prune all the other timelines was just kind of a waste of time#i didnt feel its emotional weight at all and I barely understood their reasonings#loki
