idk you ever do this with ur cat but when mine meows at me i respond back and pretend we’re having a full conversation, and now imagine reader this with her cat and she’s roommates with lily so she’s used to but then the boys see they’re all thrown off and slightly worried.
now i bid you good day my lady 🫡
I've had this blurb like half finished for a while, but since we were all talking about our fur babies today, I thought it'd be perfect to finish and post! thanks for this cute request - hope it's what you were looking for
poly!marauders x fem!reader who talks to her cat
Remus felt sort of bad for Lily at the way the boys all deflated when it had been her who opened the door to your shared flat instead of you. Thankfully, the red-head just laughed and invited them all in.
“Sorry to disappoint boys.” She jested as they all made themselves at home on your couch.
“Oh, we’re always happy to see you, Lily.” James said at the same time as Sirius grumbled “you should be”, earning him a pinch in the ribs by Remus.
“Hey!” Lily called down the hall. “The boys are here!”
Remus winced at a painful sounding thump and a muffled. “Okay thanks! I’m almost ready!”
The boys were very excited, if James’ knee bouncing and Sirius’ impish smirk wasn’t obvious enough. Lily had been gushing about how sweet her new roommate was and how she thought you’d get along really well with the group of friends, and she’d been right. You came to two pub nights and the boys were hooked; constantly asking Lily for updates and if you’d be at the next one.
Lily had grown so tired of playing messenger that she asked you if she could give them your phone number, to which you had agreed.
The four of you had been in a group chat for nearly a month and a half before they felt brave enough to ask you out on an official date.
“Where are you guys going tonight?” Lily asked as she sat in an armchair in the living area where the boys were waiting.
“We’re going to the pub on 42nd.” James answered readily.
“The one with the board games and vintage video games?” Lily clarified.
“Yup. That way there’s something for us to do if conversation lulls, and something for James to do with his hands.” Sirius explained teasingly, causing James to blush and lean into his side as if he were trying to hide inside of Sirius’ smaller frame.
“Don’t tease the lad.” Lily admonished playfully. “He’s already likely nervous enough. I don’t think you lot have to worry about tonight though; conversation never lulls with her around.”
Remus tilted his head in bemusement at Lily’s comment but never got to ask for clarification before he heard some muttering.
“Would you stop that?” He could hear you mutter quietly; barely any ire detected in your tone.
“Please don’t do this, I’m already late.” You begged before a big crash took place. “For fuck’s sa- why.”
“You’re not allowed to get ready with me anymore.” You declared to your bedroom. Remus shared a look with Sirius and James before turning towards Lily who only shook her head and brought her finger to her lips.
“Don’t look at me like that!” You carried on. “If you want to be here to see me off, you need to behave yourself.”
It was quiet for a few moments. “No, knocking over my jewelry stand is not behaving.”
They listened to you shuffling around before you let out a big sigh. “I love you too, but you are stressing me out. Do you want to watch shows with Lily tonight while I’m gone? Hm? Let’s go ask.”
Finally, you exited your room and made your way down the hall, entering the living area before pausing to take in the fact that the four occupants of your flat were all staring at you with varying levels of bemusement and amusement.
And trotting happily behind you was a small cat seemingly none the wiser to the fact that it just made its mistress look like a fool in front of her dates.
You chuckled awkwardly. “How much did you hear?”
Lily snorted and pat her legs as an invitation for your feline friend, who happily agreed, hopping and curling up on the red-head’s lap.
“Enough to know that knocking over your jewelry stand is not behaving.” Sirius teased salaciously.
You groaned and moved to cover your face with your hands, but James was having none of that and quickly made for you.
“Don’t hide that beautiful face from us; it’d be a shame if the only one who got to appreciate your date night look was your cat.” He commented as he gently pulled your hands away from your face.
You still looked awfully embarrassed but acquiesced. “A bad cat, at that.” You spat to the ball of fur currently sitting with your roommate without any real malice.
“Oi!” Lily defended quickly, brushing broad strokes over the cat like the villain from Austin Powers. “Don’t speak ill of Princess Bernadette the Third.”
“Princess Bernadette?” Sirius asked bewilderedly at the same time as James murmured “the Third?”
“Birdie, Lily. My cat’s name is Birdie.” You corrected, not at all amused.
Lily raised her nose in the air. “When we stay home to watch Bridgerton without you lot, she’s Princess Bernadette the Third. Now off with you, we have Ball’s to attend, and you have gentlemen to court.”
Remus watched with a loving smile as you flushed furiously at that, laughing when it only deepened as Sirius suddenly stood and made his way for you, bowing with a flourish and pressing a kiss to your knuckles. “Shall we, m’lady?”
You gave him an eye roll but Remus could tell it was mostly for show as you bore a sickeningly sweet smile and accepted James’ elbow as you made your way to the door.
“Have fun you guys!” Lily called towards the door as Remus bent down to scritch Birdie on the chin.
“You too, Princess Bernadette, Princess Lillith.” He offered with his most posh accent and a quick bow before joining his two boyfriends and their date at the door.

𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 —send me a shy!reader request for any character (with a plot) and I'll write a >1k drabble
shy reader who really just wants to lie down on the couch with james, but remmy and sirius are over
luveline's 40k party ☆ thank you for requesting ♡ fem!reader
"It's, like, exploding eyeliner or something. Every time I use it I look like I've cried my eyes out," Sirius says.
You linger behind the doorway, hands curled into your shirt behind your back. James, your boyfriend, is lying down on the sofa. You'd been sitting with him until you needed to use the bathroom, and while you were gone his friends came home.
You can't complain —it's their house, not yours. But you don't know what to do now.
"I thought you changed to pencil," James says, stretching like a cat in the sun, the firm lines of his chest rippling. You're shy, but you can't lie to yourself. James is a catch. "Like, the kohl stuff."
"It's hard to put on."
"And take off," Remus says, having splayed beside Sirius on the single armchair.
Sirius pulls Remus' thigh further into his lap. "So I decided against it for Remus' sake." He must have a better sixth sense than the other two, turning in the chair to smile at you. "Hey, doll. You okay?"
"I–" You beg yourself not to stammer. "M'okay. How are you?"
James beckons for you to come in as Remus answers, "Don't ask him, he'll never stop complaining."
You obey James' ask and try to sit where you'd been before at his feet, but he catches your waist and pulls you down. Your back across his hips, his arm over your stomach, it isn't intimate in the dirty sense but intimate all the same. Your cheeks catch fire instantaneously.
"I'm quite good, actually," Sirius says.
"Yeah?" You sound ridiculous. "What about you, Remus? Did you, um, did you finish your new chapter?"
Remus grins at your remembering. James' hand squeezes approvingly, clearly pleased as well as Remus delves into an explanation of why his novel seems to have stagnated. Your stiff as a rod despite James' nice handling while you listen. You want to lie down with him, your eyes heavy, the light outside fading as the boys talk, but appearances hold you back, even as Remus dissolves into Sirius side like wet paper and kips.
"You okay?" James asks, hand climbing up to just below your chest. "Lie down with me."
"I don't want to be, you know, rude," you whisper.
James doesn't laugh nor tease you. "It's not rude, lovely, this is my house, and you're welcome to do what you like when you're here." He's whispering too, careful not to talk louder than the TV. "If you want to lie down, you can. He won't care, and it's not rude. I'll cover you up like a blanket anyway."
James sits up a little and pulls you gently to his front. You put your legs up next to his and lay back, giving in to the lul of his warm skin seeping through your shirt, the coiled muscled of his forearm where he squeezes you up tight to his chest.
Sirius looks over at the movement. "We're just cushions, mate," he says to James, grinning.
James kisses the side of your head with palpable pride. "That's all I was made to be," he says happily.

attention thief II m.león & i.engen
attention thief II m.león & i.engen
"oo! what about this one?" you eagerly showed the phone to ingrid who awwed and took it off you. "he is so tiny!" the norweigen cooed as the two of you chattered back and forth, missing the dirty looks sent your way by your other girlfriend.
"oh and he has had his shots already! that means he will be fine around the cat." you nodded as the two of you read through the small dogs profile, a loud scoff pulling your attention away.
“the cat, she has a name!" mapi huffed with a roll of her eyes, finally speaking up as she’d spent the last couple of hours brewing silently in the corner, having made her feelings toward this new addition well known however she’d been outvoted and was not taking it well.
"now say sorry! you both hurt bagheera’s feelings." the spaniard scooped up the black cat who was sitting happily on the edge of the armchair she'd previously been occupying, gentle mews heard as she presented the disgruntled feline toward you and ingrid with a frown, holding her much like how simba had been presented in the lion king as you bit back a smile at the thought.
"sorry bagheera, a very beautiful name for a very regal girl." you stood and scratched behind her ears with a soft smile, mapi nodding her agreement. "the most beautiful girl." ingrid agreed as her thumb rubbed over the black cats spine and she purred happily before jumping from mapi's arms, stretching out again over the back of the sofa.
“and now say sorry to me! because this whole idea is also hurting my feelings.” mapi crossed her arms over her chest and scowled as you and ingrid shared an amused look and did no such thing, collapsing back onto the couch together.
“oye! the disrespect.” your girlfriend gasped as you rolled your eyes at her dramatics, more than used to them by now as you poked her with your foot.
"stop being a baby maría and come look. we picked one mi amor, a little boy." you scooted over and patted the spot next to you as mapi seemingly accepted she wasn’t getting an apology and sat down with a sigh, her head dropping to your shoulder.
“but why do we need a dog? we already have bagheera, the three of us, our friends, the team, the family is full." the defender grumbled, taking your phone and reading through the profile for the small frenchie puppy none the less.
"because my love bagheera is a cat, and you promised that she could get a puppy once we moved into the new place. and that was four months ago!” ingrid answered her with chuckled, hugging you tightly and kissing your cheek fondly as your hand squeezed her knee.
“so? we still take bagheera for walks, out for lunch, she sleeps with us and gives us lots of cuddles and love. same thing as a puppy would! but dogs are noisy and messy and loud and energetic. and i made that promise under…different circumstances.” mapi rolled her eyes and handed you back your phone as you gave her a toothy grin, knowing exactly what circumstances she meant.
“you are noisy and messy and loud and energetic and we still love you maría.” you teased, mapi pouting at you and crossing her arms again. “the dog is not even here and you are already using it as an excuse to pick on me!” your girlfriend huffed dramatically.
"i do not need an excuse to pick on you amor. but sí bagheera is wonderful but she is not a puppy, and ingrid’s right you promised me months ago! i have been very patient, pleasee baby." you clasped your hands together and pleaded, hitting her with a look you knew always had her melting as the older girl sighed.
“or we could bring back those circumstances, and i can ask while ingrid has you on the edge again, begging and begging.” you whispered in her ear, kissing her neck and hearing the norwegian beside you chuckle and hum her agreement as your other lovers face blushed bright red.
“oye, do not forget your place mi amor or i will hold you on the edge while you beg and beg!” the spaniard warned with a look as you merely grinned and kissed her cheek in a silent apology, tugging on her earlobe with her teeth as she pinched your thigh and mumbled something about being cheeky.
"bien! but you are in charge of him princesa. which means anything he needs, destroys, eats, breaks, hides or poops is your responsibility." mapi groaned giving in as you nodded eagerly and pounced on her, kissing all over her face in thanks as her lips curled into a smile.
“vale vale, you are welcome. anything to see you happy hermosa.” the girl smiled, tattooed hand pushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear as your cheeks began to hurt from how hard you were smiling, kissing all over her face again as she let out a laugh
"hey! there was none of that when i said yes." ingrid scoffed, faking offence as she crossed her arms on your other side. "too bad corazón, should have said no and made her work for it. you don't normally find much trouble with that and you know how much princesa loves to please." mapi grinned teasingly, strong arm wrapping around your stomach and pulling you back onto her lap as you tried to move toward your other girlfriend, the insinuation of her flirty words having your cheeks flushing pink slightly.
"such a child maría, never good at sharing." ingrid tutted with a sly smile, shuffling over to press her body closer and leaning around you as if to kiss the older girl but pulling back right as mapi puckered expectantly, hands falling to your cheeks and pressing her lips to yours instead.
your head swam as her mouth devoured your own, senses heightened at the feeling of your other girlfriends tattooed and calloused hands roaming your body. pinching and squeezing everywhere she knew drove you crazy, ingrid eventually pulling away with a smug smile at the slightly dazed look in your eyes.
but barely having a moment to collect your thoughts there was already a new set of lips ravishing yours, the kiss a perfect balance of rough and tender as mapi's hand held your jaw, turning your head so your mouth slotted perfectly against your own as you shifted on her lap, ingrid’s fingers toying with the hem of your her shirt.
then just like before the warmth was gone, both of your girlfriends starting a new conversation over your head about what was needed to be bought in preparation for the puppy as if they hadn't just sent you spinning into another universe as you sat there a little shell shocked.
"oh! but what are we going to name him?"
~
hugo was the name you settled on after many debates.
though you weren't complaining at that as your inability to pick a side between either of your girlfriends endless suggestions earnt you a great deal of hushed promises, sweet words and stolen kisses in an attempt to sway you one way over the other, your vote the deal breaker.
but as always, the final decision was yours to make and the settled on name hadn't been either of their suggestions, though seeing the way you lit up as you thought of it neither girl could find it within them to say no to you.
no matter where your place was in the relationship when it came to bedroom activities, you had both girls wrapped right around your little finger and you knew it.
you'd met the puppy a couple of times before you could take him home because of how young he was, ingrid going with you each time as mapi opted only to come once you were due to bring him back with you, though she’d agreed to his arrival she was still not thrilled.
but you made sure each night up until he arrived to show both her and ingrid just how grateful you were for their agreement, and that seemed to soften up the stubborn spaniard just a little.
once hugo did finally come home you couldn't help but feel as though your little family was now perfect, not to say you ever felt it was missing something but having him around just felt right.
both of your girlfriends had both secretly assumed they'd have to take the reigns when it came to the finer details of dog ownership. you were known to be a touch scatter brained and more of a dreamer than a doer, but proving them both wrong you'd found your stride as the mother of your fur baby and there wasn't anything you didn't do for him.
ingrid found it endearing to watch how much you cared for the puppy who clearly returned that love, following you around wherever you went always under your feet or sat by your ankles as you learned to be careful how you walked when wandering the house completing errands, your little shadow never far behind.
mapi on the other hand, was not quite as taken with the small dog as either of her girlfriends, bagheera sharing her feelings as she too avoided hugo like a disease. often perching herself up on her cat tree or the counter or the very top cupboard of your shared closet, anywhere she knew was out of reach of the energetic frenchie who always wanted to play with his feline sister.
"ah! bebita no, you know the rules." mapi warned, giving you a firm look over the top of her laptop as you wandered into the bedroom with hugo nestled in the pocket of your hoodie, reveling in how small he was as everyday he seemed to get a little bigger.
"but bagheera gets to sleep in the bed!" you pointed out with a frown, ingrid smiling slightly but returning her gaze to her book, opting to stay out of this one. "yes she does and hugo does not, so take him to his crate amor, now." the tattooed spaniard warned rather sternly as you scoffed.
"fine! i'll sleep on the sofa with him then." you shrugged, turning on heel and retreating to the living room. "joder! what?" mapi hissed as ingrid sharply pinched her thigh and gave her a look.
"no no no, you agreed with me when we set the rules with her mi amor, no dogs in the bed!" mapi protested as the norweigein stayed quiet, only raising a perfectly manicured eyebrow.
a silent stand off ensued, both girls attempting to stare the other down wordlessly as in the mean time you'd grabbed a blanket and made yourself comfortable on the sofa, already having taken hugo out to do his business as the small puppy curled up tiredly on your chest.
"he is not sleeping in the bed. she can move the crate in here but that is it! and if he cries and cries then she takes it back to the living room.” mapi huffed, relenting though only slightly as ingrids lips curled upward and she kissed her girlfriends cheek, snapping her book closed and swinging her long legs out of bed.
though by the time she reached you it was too late, your chest rising and falling, face calm and eyes closed as hugo had wiggled to tuck himself between your neck and the back of the sofa, curled tightly into a ball.
smiling softly the taller girl snapped a photo and bent down, smoothing your hair from your face and kissing your forehead, shushing the small dog who stirred and lifted his head, leaving you both be and retreating back to bed.
mapi rolled her eyes at the news you'd not be joining the two of them in bed, bagheera taking advantage of the gap and settling herself in between the two girls as ingrid shut off the lamp and plunged the bedroom into darkness, kissing her girlfriend goodnight as mapi stared longingly at the door as if that might make you appear, eyes growing tired as they strained in the dark and eventually she drifted off to sleep.
but when she awoke the next morning it was to an entirely empty bed, the defender stretching out groggily and frowning when there was no other warm welcoming bodies for her to wrap herself around as she usually would.
ingrid had always been a morning person and an early riser however you at least would normally placate mapi’s clingy tendencies, fingers wound through her hair and scratching at her scalp as you’d murmur how it was time to wake up, chuckling at her refusal as the defenders face remained smushed into your neck.
rubbing her eyes she pulled herself into a sitting position, eyebrows furrowing at how suspiciously quiet it seemed to be.
making her way out of bed she stroked a single finger down bagheeras back where she was curled up in the sun on the windowsill, kissing her head and leaving her be to sunbake.
calling out for both you and ingrid the girls frown deepened as she received no reply, but when there wasn't a clattering of nails against the floorboard or a tiny blur of tan fur under her feet she put two and two together, the note on the fridge confirming it.
you and ingrid had taken hugo for a walk, the small frenchie always at his most active in the mornings as he would get the 'zoomies' as you affectionately called them, the small dog hurtling himself around the house crashing into everything and anything in his way.
the habit grated at mapi to no end despite how amusing you and ingrid seemed to find it, poor bagheera learning to steer well clear of these zoomies as well.
"well chiqui, just you and me." mapi sighed at the black cat beside her, the gorgeous day outside far too alluring to miss as mapi changed into a bikini and a pair of shorts, scooping up bagheera and retreating outside.
settling on a lounge chair bagheera made herself comfortable on the cushion mapi’s head rested on, the defender dozing off without a second thought now bathed in the gloriously warm rays of the barcelona sun.
"good boy! lots of water please handsome." you cooed at hugo as you let him off the lead and he raced over to his water bowl, scratching behind his ears and leaving him to it as ingrid ducked off to use the bathroom.
"cariño? mi amor? maría?" you called out, checking the bedroom with a frown at the now made bed without your girlfriend inside it as you assumed she would still be, always fond of a sleep in on your days off.
chuckling at hugo who'd sprawled out panting on the cool tiles of the kitchen you grabbed a bottle of water for yourself and finally spotted a familiar tattooed hand peeking over the back of the patio furniture.
taking a lavish gulp of water you downed half the bottle, skin prickling with sweat from the rapidly rising temperatures outside, handing the bottle then to ingrid with a gentle peck to her lips before she padded back to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
you topped up hugo’s water and gave his puppy belly a little rub, sitting with him for a moment until he’d fallen asleep on the kitchen floor and you left him be, stroking bagheera who jumped up into the back of the lounge as you passed her by.
you smiled as you stepped outside and made your way toward your other girlfriend who lay asleep in the sun, cap pulled down over her face and toned tanned and tattooed body out on full display, her shorts rolled right up as to not get any odd tan lines.
she stirred as you sat down on the edge of the lounger, snatching her cap and pulling it on as her eyes fluttered open, the older girl squinting up at you tiredly. "hola sleepy." you teased, running a hand through her mane of hair affectionately.
"you left me behind." mapi croaked out, slight pout on her lips as she stole your sunglasses from where they hung from the neckline of your tank top and slipping them down over her eyes. "we tried to wake you mi vida but you refused to get up." you grinned with a shake of your head.
"i do not remember this so it did not happen." mapi dismissed with a flick of her hand, shuffling herself to sit upward a little more. "oh is that how it works baby?" you grinned, the older girl nodding with a hum as her arm reached out to turn her hat backwards on your head.
"think you need to make it up to me for leaving me behind bebita." the girl whispered, pushing herself up further to capture your lips with her own, her hand settling to the back of your neck and easily taking control of the kiss.
"having fun?" you pulled away as ingrid stood behind the chair with a raised eyebrow and an amused smile, arms crossed and changed into a bikini of her own, hair damp from the quick shower she'd taken.
"si, without you." mapi teased, fingers rubbing small circles into the back of your neck as you moved to make room for the taller girl. "again with this sharing problem of yours kjæreste." ingrid tutted, clicking her tongue and settling herself on the lounger, leaning down to kiss the spaniard hello.
"no! off hugo." mapi scowled as the small puppy suddenly appeared to ruin the moment, leaping on top of her as his nails scratched at her stomach and she shoved him off sending the small puppy toppling to the ground.
"maría!" you gasped in shock, pushing her hands off of you and scrambling to to pick up the unfazed puppy who licked at your face as you hurriedly checked him over for any injuries. "you're a bully! you are always so mean to him." you scowled before storming off inside as mapi scoffed, muttering how you’d overreacted and the dog was absolutely fine.
"what! do not tell me you agree with her?" the defender gave ingrid a look as the taller girl raised her eyebrows at the defender. "you treat him very differently to bagheera love, thats not fair." ingrid explained with a small smile. "because i have had bagheera for years, she is my daughter! hugo is...hugo." mapi struggled out with a roll of her eyes.
"yes, her hugo. amor you have seen how attentive and loving she is with him, and do you know why she wanted a puppy so badly?" ingrid took mapi’s hand in hers, squeezing gently as the older girl shook her head no. "to keep her company when we are away, i heard her speaking with alexia about it today on our walk." ingrid revealed, the barcelona captain quite enamoured with your little four legged fur baby she often joined you of a morning to walk with him.
"but she has bagheera we have never left her completely alone!" mapi protested with another huff. "yes, your bagheera. i love her, we all do, but you know having a cat is very different to a dog. much as you are a cat person, she is a dog person amor." ingrid chuckled, kissing away the defenders pout.
"she loves that stupid little dog more than me, you both do." mapi scowled, crossing her arms as ingrid resisted the urge to laugh. "is that what this is about? you are jealous of hugo?" ingrid raised an eyebrow, squeezing mapi's hand again as her other one traced shapes against her bare torso.
"the two of you are always with him. fussing over him and feeding him treats, taking him shopping or for walks or napping with him, he sits in my spot on the sofa now!" mapis scowl deepend as ingrids features softened.
"if you think we love a dog more than you amor you are not as smart as you look." you joined the two of them again, having put hugo down to take a nap in his crate. "excuse me i am trying to be honest about my feelings here, you are always going on about healthy communication." mapi huffed as your body pressed into ingrids from behind, arms wrapped around her neck and chin resting on her shoulder as she kissed your warm skin fondly.
"you are really jealous? you think we spend more time with hugo than with you now?" you asked, voice an octave softer, directing the question to the disgruntled defender glaring up at you.
"sí! you do." mapi nodded firmly, frown unwavering as you rolled your eyes. "well he is having a sleep, so is bagheera. do you need us to make up for neglecting you maría?" your voice switched tones, both your girlfriends bodies tensing as it did and your lips curled into a sultry smile.
"not here!" your seductive facade cracked and you laughed as ingrid turned and suddenly tugged you down properly onto the lounger with them, arms pinned by your head and straddling your hips, the taller girl now hovering over you with a wolfish grin.
"we can’t! we have neighbors." you reminded sternly, though your voice cracked slightly as rough but attentive lips attached to your neck and ingrids hands moved slowly down your body. "then maybe we should give them a show princesa." mapi whispered in your ear, sucking a harsh mark into your skin as ingrids hands teased at the waistband of your shorts.
but gratefully neither of your girlfriends were ever really up for sharing you with anyone other than one another as suddenly all contact dissapeared from your body and you found yourself being pulled back inside.
all three of you hurried to the bedroom, the door quietly closed shut as to not wake up either of the animals as your body was quickly pressed against it, ingrid on one side and mapi on your other.
quiet laughter filled the room as all three of you shared kisses and soft words of endearment, eventually hitting the soft surface of your mattress as mapi leaned against the headboard and you settled yourself to straddle her lap, ingrid pressed up behind you as you both looked to the older girl with matching grins.
"now, where have we been neglecting you that needs some extra love and attention maría?”

Summary: Lady Whistledown strikes, making your family suffer underneath her swift pen. Will her wrath push Colin away or while he stand his ground and stay? [ part 1 & part 3 & part 4 & part 5 & part 6 & part 7 & part 8 & part 9 & part 10]
Dearest gentile reader,
This author finds herself compelled to share this news. The ton are abuzz with the latest gossip, and so it is my honour to impart to you; Y/n Featherington. The middlest of Featheringtons. One would ask what might occur for her name to fall of interest to this author. Well let this author share you all about Y/n Featherington…
Papers got stacked on each other. – “Get this out immediately. Those were the orders.” – one of the boys said taking a stack of pamphlets and giving it to the little kid. The kid nodded and ran out of the door. – “The latest Whistledown edition!” – he called out waving a pamphlet in his hand. No one was around yet on the streets, yet he felt compelled to shout it. Running as fast his little legs could carry him, he went to deliver an edition at each house of the ton.
Lady Featherington was still in her nightwear when she got woken up. A pamphlet of Lady Whistledown given to her. Baffled she accepted the pamphlet that got placed in her hands with haste. She turned the pamphlet around so she could read it. Her gaze fell immediately on a name. Her daughters name. Before reading anything more, she rushed out of her room. Knocking on each door of her daughter’s rooms. – “Wake up children!” – she called out.
You opened the door, rubbing your eye. – “What is it mama?” – you questioned as your sister Penelope appeared in her door opening as well. – “All of you downstairs.” – your mother spoke excitedly. – “What for?” – Philipa yawned out . You shrugged your shoulders at your sister, following Prudence down the stairs. Philipa groaned annoyed, ruffling her hand through her bed hair.
Penelope was the last to go downstairs, not having said a word. Mama orchestrated for you all to sit down. Philipa and Prudence sat beside each other. You sat before them on the ground. Penelope sitting alone in an armchair. – “We have been mentioned.” – mama spoke delighted, showing them the pamphlet.
“We have?” – Philipa answered curious. – “Was I mentioned too?” – Prudence asked. – “Y/n was.” – mama spoke as your eyes widened. – “I was?” – you spoke cautiously. Prudence lowered her hand on your shoulder. You took it, giving it a comforting squeeze. – “This is excellent news girls. We are finally getting noticed. Lady Whistledown finally agrees just how important we are as a family.” – mama went on. You looked up to your sisters with a hopeful smile.
You wanted nothing more for your sisters to receive the attention of noble men. For your family had not been so lucky in finding a match. – “Have you read it properly?” – Penelope said making you all look at her. Mama chuckled nervously. – “Well no… but what wrong can she write about my girls?” – Mama replied slowly getting insecure.
Philipa extended her hand wanting to read the pamphlet. Philipa got up approaching mama as she wasn’t getting it as fast as she wanted it. Philipa took the pamphlet from her, reading the first lines out loud till her words faded out to a whisper. Her eyes wide.
“What is it?” – you asked seeing the worry in your sister. – “Philipa?” – Mama spoke frightened. Philipa lowered the pamphlet, looking over at you. – “It’s about you sister… not in the nicest way.” – Philipa answered. – “Let me see.” – mama snatched the pamphlet out of her hands to read it for herself. Her hands clenched around the paper, her expression hardening. – “What is it?” – you repeated more worried.
Mama started reading a bit out loud. A section where all your flaws were openly explained. Your insecurities. How you would seduce any man just for attention. How from between your sisters, you might have the ugliest personality. Lies spread out in ink as you were none of those. Mama gasped desperately touching her forehead in distress.
You turned your head, laying it against your sister’s knees, sobbing loud. Prudence lowered her hand on you, wanting to comfort you. – “But mama that isn’t true.” – Prudence spoke defending you. – “It doesn’t matter if it is true or not! The entire ton will read this!” – she threw the pamphlet on the ground from distress.
You wiped some tears away, reaching for the pamphlet. You wanted to read it for yourself. See how lady Whistledown had dragged you through the mud. Ruined perhaps your reputation forever. For who would want to marry such a disgrace now? A girl who found pleasure in seeking men’s attention till they bored her out and she needed another one.
Reading the insults about you, made you cry loud. Prudence took the pamphlet from you, tearing it apart. You looked at your sister Penelope. Seeing her avoid eye contact. Her emotions well-hidden as she appeared unbothered. – “I am sorry mama.” – you cried out not sure why you were apologizing. Mama needed to sit down, too distressed to respond. You got up running up to your room, crying your heart out.
At the Bridgerton house it was still early. A few siblings in the Parlor. There was a knock on the door. Eloise gasped excitedly, jumping up. She rushed up to the man with a platter. A few editions of Lady Whistledown on them. She grabbed one eagerly, reading it with a flush on her cheeks. Her excitement faded out as she read more. – “What is it Eloise?” – Violet asked curious. – “Is it not exciting?” – Violet finished. – “No.” – Eloise responded. – “It is rather hurtful.” – she went on.
“Hurtful?” – Benedict questioned. – “It doesn’t feel like Lady Whistledown.” – Eloise outed. – “What has she written then?” – Anthony wanted to know. – “It’s all about Y/n Featherington.” – Eloise responded. Colin’s head lifted up with wide eyes.
He got up, going over to her to take the edition from her. He read a few lines as his expression tensed. – “Colin?” – Violet blinked confused when her son stormed out of the Parlor without a word. Violet asked for an edition, wanting to read for herself. She gasped, pressing her hand against her chest.
There were loud knocks on the door. Rushed and demanding to be opened. The door opened as he barged in, out of breath. The door from the Parlor opened as Penelope walked out. – “Oh Colin.” – she said happily at the sight of him. – “Why are you here?” – she asked curious. Colin rushed over to her, holding the pamphlet up. – “Where is Y/n?” – he wanted to know. Penelope changed her attitude just a smidge. – “Has she read this?” – he asked panting.
Penelope nodded. Colin exhaled concerned, wanting to move passed Penelope. Penelope moved, blocking his way. – “She doesn’t want to see you.” – she spoke. Colin stared with furrowed brows at her. – “I just want to speak to her. Make sure she is alright.” – Colin insisted upon, stepping aside, but Penelope followed his movement, blocking his path once more.
“She doesn’t want you.” – Penelope outed making Colin stared shocked down at her. Colin held the pamphlet up again. – “Lies! All of this are lies about Y/n. How can you stand here so coldly when your sister has been hurt?” – he wanted to know why she acted so coldly or unbothered. – “How am I to know it isn’t true?” – Penelope responded.
Colin gasped surprised. – “She’s your sister!” – he called out to her. – “Y/n would never…” – he breathed out. – “I must ask you to leave.” – She spoke showing him the door. – “But…” – Colin sputtered against her, but got pushed back by her. She practically showed him out. The door got slammed in his face. Puzzled he stared at the door, not familiar with that side of Penelope. With no other choice, he returned home. Hoping his actions might have not been the cause for these lies.
He never intended for you to be targeted. In that moment, he just wanted to show you, that his subtle signals had been projected onto you. It was you who he wanted to court. It was you who he felt compelled to marry. Not your sister Penelope. It was innocent to kiss you. He should’ve never done it, but he needed a way for you to see. For you to finally think of yourself instead of always thinking of your sisters first. Always putting them to the front and chase after their happiness while you forgot about yourself.
That was who you were. A sister who would defend and glorify your sisters at any given time. Not whatever lies lady Whistledown wrote about you. If he was being honest you had been pushing him away at any given time. Ignoring his clear signals as you could only think of your sister’s interests. Being blind that there was someone interested in you.
Mama took a deep breath. Tapping the fan in her hand into her palm. It was the clear the attention was on them. Phillipa and Prudence looking uncertain around. – “Chins up girls.” – Mama said with a plastered smile. You gulped soft, bringing your chin up to own your pride. Prudence took your hand for comfort. All of you started to walk. The crowd parting as you made your way through. It was almost unbearable to ignore the whispers. Seeing them huddle together to gossip.
Their glances and subtle points at you. You knew it must hurt your mama to be threated like this. The ton’s gossip as it did another dent in your reputation. One the Featheringtons didn’t have highly. It was hard to keep your head up. Hands were shaking as you rather disappeared. Be invisible than be the centre of attention. Prudence squeezed your hand tighter, feeling them shake in hers.
Mama took a position in the room near the walls. She started fanning herself from the nerves. Everyone was still watching, staring, gawking at you. Mama slapped her fan hard in her hand with a mean glare. Some men cleared their throats, looking immediately away. They slightly turned their posture to chatter again.
You stood beside mama, seeing how everyone did a great turn around you. Not daring to come near as if you had some sickness. – “Mama, perhaps I should head home.” – you told her. Thinking your presence was causing the illness. You were after all the reason for the gossip. – “No!” – mama answered firmly. – “That would not change anything.” – she sighed out. You hated being the cause of her worries. Deep down, you knew a part of her was disappointed in you.
Discontent you had shone such a light on the family. Your gaze fell on your sister Penelope. Seeing a certain glance in her eyes, made you furrow your brows. Something bitter in them. Holding her gaze felt threatening as you quickly looked away. – “This was supposed to be our season.” – Mama spoke, slapping her fan down her dress.
“Now look at us.” – She started fanning harder with one hand on her hip. – “Can we fall any lower?” – she sighed out. Feeling called out, your eyes became watery. You bowed to mama, before your tears could run like water. Leaving their side to disappear into the gardens. Wiping your cheek, you couldn’t hold it dry.
Hastening outside, you were greeted by a cold breeze. – “Y/n!” – you heard your name being called out. Seeing over your shoulder, it was Colin. Shaking your head, you kept walking. Colin rushed over not letting you slip through his fingers. – “Y/n.” – he said loud catching up on you. Out of breath, he grabbed your wrist, pulling you to a stop. – “Y/n.” – he repeated softer, tugging on you, wanting you to look at him. You sniffed loud, wiping your cheek dry. – “I’m so sorry.” – he spoke with a saddened look.
You turned your posture more to him. – “It’s not your doing.” – you answered. – “I shouldn’t have…” – he shook his head feeling dumb. His gaze met up with yours once more. – “Please…” – he brought his hand up, letting it brush against your cheek. You smiled saddened between the tears. You took his hand that laid against your cheek, bringing it slowly down. – “You shouldn’t be seen with me.” – you replied taking a step back from him.
“I do not care.” – he outed. Shaking your head, you turned around, walking off. – “Y/n.” – Colin called out, coming after you. – “Think of your reputation Colin.” – you told him. – “The hell with it!” – he shouted putting you to a stop.
“The hell with it all!” – he added with wide arms. – “Colin!” – you called out returning to him with fury. – “It is not because you were not mentioned yet, you wouldn’t be mentioned by her.” – you told him with frustration. – “Let her do her worst.” – Colin answered in seriousness. – “You don’t understand Colin, this was personal.” – you told him till something cliqued.
This was personal. Things had been mentioned only those closest to you knew. Things Colin didn’t even know. Looking past Colin, your gaze focused on the glass windows from top to bottom. A bright yellow figurine catching your eyes. Narrowing your eyes, you saw her clearer. Penelope.

Chaperone
Part 1 Part 2
Sirius Black x Fem!Slytherin!reader
2.5k words
cw: smoking, drinking, fluff
You’re laying on the couch with your feet in Regulus’ lap while he reads. You are resting your eyes, but you swear you aren’t falling asleep. There isn’t much going on in the Slytherin Common Room. At least there isn’t until Dorcas is leaning over the back of the couch right above your face. She reaches down and pokes your cheek.
“Go away,” you grumble, turning onto your side.
“You’ve been selected to come to Gryffindor with me!” Dorcas sings excitedly.
“I just went! Take Dory. Take Evan. Take Barty. Avery, Wilkes, Mulicber won’t go… Snape! He won’t need much convincing when you tell him Lily will be there!”
“Ugh. Black, you want to go?” Dorcas asks Regulus, who doesn’t look up from his book. She’s still leaning over the couch.
“Quality time with brother dearest? I’ll pass, Meadowes,” he says, not looking up from his book. His book is resting more firmly on your feet so you know he’s at least listening to your conversation with some interest.
“Which brings me back to you, lovely. Plus, you’ve been requested.”
You roll back onto your back and stare up at her.
“I’ve been requested? Who?”
“The Gryffindors? I don’t know. Marls didn’t specify.”
You glare up at her.
“Come up! Up you get! You’re changing and going!”
She grabs your hands and pulls you into sitting up. You groan.
“Fine… But you owe me.”
Less than fifteen minutes later, you have changed into jeans and a simple black t-shirt and are following Dorcas out of the Slytherin Common Room.
“Why do you still need an escort anyways? I think all of the Gryffindors know you are seeing Marlene,” you ask after a mostly silent walk.
“Less awkward than walking in alone,” she says. “God forbid I try to get our friend groups to mingle.”
You shake your head as Dorcas gives the password to the portrait of the Fat Lady. As she swings open, you are met with music and the smell of alcohol and smoke. You make a face and shoot a glance at Dorcas.
“I think they started without you,” you say.
“Come on,” she replies, grabbing your hand and pulling you into the room.
After a quick stop at the drink table, you head to the group’s usual location, the couches and armchairs by the fire. Marlene jumps up as soon as she sees Dorcas and they melt into each other. You take a seat in an armchair, looking around the room. Thanks to Dorcas dragging you up here a few times, you’re beginning to recognize more of the students not in your year.
“You’re here!” Lily says, spotting you and coming over to lean on your chair.
From the smell of her, she’s had a few drinks already. The party must have started before Dorcas ripped you from your rest on the couch.
“I am,” you say with a smile. “Heard my presence was requested.”
You take a slow sip of your drink. Lily could be quite the talker, especially when she had a few drinks in her to ruin her filter. She slaps a hand onto your thigh.
“Yes! Oh my goodness! You’re the best!” she exclaims. “Pandora’s a bit… loofy? And the boys she’s brought up?” She takes a sip of her own drink and makes a face. “Bad energy. Combined with our boys? Boom. Mess.”
You give her an amused smile and scan where she came from. The Marauders are all talking to each other, but you swear you see James nudge Sirius and look in your direction.
“I can’t imagine Regulus…”
Lily cuts you off. “Sirius’ brother? He’s never come.”
Dorcas leans over to you, Marlene’s arms still very much wrapped around her. “I ask and he always denies.”
You shoot her a look for eavesdropping. Lily’s hand is still on your thigh with a firm grip.
“Marlene,” you say, getting the blonde’s attention, “where’s your cat?”
“Dorm. Too loud!”
You suppress a groan and lean back into your chair. The cat had been part of why you came. If you were going to be in another house’s common room, you wanted, needed something furry to pet you. You clutch your cup with both hands and stare into the drink. Lily mutters something about getting another drink and leaves you to your thoughts. You are certain that Marlene and Dorcas were going to be snogging soon enough, Lily was already well on her way to being drunk and Mary was nowhere to be seen. Everyone you usually spoke with was essentially unavailable. You look over at the boys again. Do you bother seeing if their conversation is tolerable?
You sip on your drink, nursing it for a while. You’re not sure where Lily disappeared to and the lovely couple next to you was snogging, as you had predicted. You find yourself staring at the fire, enjoying how the flames appear to dance to the music playing. It’s enough to make you smile. As you finish your drink, you cast a quick glance toward the boys. Lily had joined them, her arm wrapped around James’ neck and practically falling into his shoulder to keep her balance. You really hope one of the boys has the decency to cut her off, or at least make sure she makes it up to bed at the end of the night.
With a sigh, you set your empty cup on the ground and move to leave the Gryffindor Common Room. Dorcas was still preoccupied with Marlene so you knew she wouldn’t be missing you. It wasn’t like you were deep in conversation with anyone. You were sitting alone by the fire, a lone Slytherin with no real reason to be there. You felt out of place. So you made the logical decision to leave. Pandora or Regulus would still be up and you could keep one of them company. After you close the portrait behind you and you start to walk away, you hear it open and close again.
“Leaving so soon?” Sirius asks.
You shake your head in disbelief, turning around to see him approaching you. You wonder if he had been watching you from the table where he had been sitting. You didn’t want to overthink it or assume anything, but you could’ve sworn you caught him staring at you a few times during class.
“There are better places for me to be right now.”
“Where?”
“I don’t know,” you say with a shrug. “Was gonna go back to my dorm. Doubt Dorcas is missing me.”
“Marls is keeping her company.” Standing next to you now, Sirius throws an arm around your shoulder, causing you to raise your eyebrows at him. “How would you feel about being my chaperone while I get some fresh air, huh? Then you can sod off to wherever after I’m dropped off safe ‘n’ sound right here.”
“What do I get out of it?”
“You won’t have to say you had one measly drink and ditched the party. Sounds pathetic if you ask me.”
“Hmm, too bad no one’s asking, you dog.”
He smiles widely, looking down at you. He was hopeful that you would agree since you hadn’t shrugged his arm off.
“Good thing you’re a dog person then!” he says mirthfully. He steers you in the opposite direction of the Slytherin Dungeon. “Astronomy Tower has the best fresh air.”
“Guess I don’t have a choice in going,” you mutter as you allow yourself to be directed.
“You’re the one not putting up a fight.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Something tells me you’re into that and I’d be chaperoning you anyways.”
“Something tells me,” he mimics you, “that you wouldn’t let a drunk person…” He stumbles briefly and uses you to stabilize himself. You catch him with a hand on his shoulder and the other on his chest. “Drunk person go to the Astronomy Tower alone,” he finishes.
You both stop walking and look down at your hand on his chest. A faint blush dusts your cheeks as you remove both of your hands, clasping them in front of yourself. Apparently being a good person gets you stuck being people’s babysitter, you think.
Once you reach the last staircase before the top of the Astronomy Tower, Sirius lets go of your shoulder and sprints up the stairs. You roll your eyes as you follow him up at your own pace. You started your evening in the dungeons and now you are going to the highest point of the castle. You were not going to be running. By the time you reach the top, Sirius is already leaning on the railing with a lit cigarette.
“I thought you wanted some fresh air?” you ask, hanging back.
“Air’s the freshest up here,” he says before taking a drag.
“So you decide to pollute it. Got it.”
You cross your arms and lean against the door frame. You didn’t need to be right up next to him to supervise him. You could see how his free hand was gripping his forearm as he leaned over the rail, letting the light breeze blow through his curls. It was moments like this where you saw what just about every girl in Hogwarts saw, the undeniable fact that Sirius was an attractive guy. After almost a minute, Sirius turns around to see where you are.
“What you doing back there? Can’t chaperone very well from there.”
“Can too.”
“But what if,” he says, sliding his legs through the gap between rungs in the railing, “I were to slip?”
Your eyes go wide as his pelvis and torso follow his legs through the gap.
“Shit, shit, shit,” you nearly yell as you sprint toward him, knowing full well that you’d be too late to do anything.
When you reach the railing, he’s laughing as he’s barely hanging onto the bottom rung with both hands. You see he’s also balanced on a ledge that seems to be just his height below the platform.
“You’re a bastard, Black. You know that?” you ask, glaring down at him as your heart pounds in your chest.
“I thought I was a dog,” he replies. “Now help me up, love.”
You hold out your hand and help him climb back up to safety.
“Where’d your cigarette go?”
He laughs again. “You think I can pull that off and hold onto a lit cig? You must think quite highly of me.”
You give him a nasty look, which he just smiles at. He takes out the pack from his pocket and pulls out a fresh one, wasting no time in lighting it. He takes a drag and offers it to you.
“I know you don’t smoke,” he says with cheek.
“Thank you,” you say as you take the cigarette, ignoring his comment.
Now that you were sharing a cigarette with him, you stay at the railing with him. You have to admit to yourself that looking out at the night sky with the light breeze feels nice. Refreshing. Like the cold air had felt from that open window Sirius was smoking at when his friends sent you his way.
Giving you a sideways glance, Sirius asks, “Did you know we have Charms, Potions and Dark Arts together?”
You scrunch your face, not looking at him. “Um, yeah?”
“Really? You knew that?”
“Did you just discover this?” you laugh, making him smile.
“Maybe…” he says almost shyly. “Can’t say I pay attention to everyone in my classes.”
“Hmm, I’m sure you’re paying attention to more important things.”
He hums in agreement. As he leans over the rail, you notice that he’s tapping his knee against one of the lower rungs. Your gut tells you it’s a nervous habit, but you’re not sure what he could be nervous about right now. Maybe he’s concerned a professor will find you up there? That doesn’t seem like it would be enough to set him off. Your punishment would be detention and Sirius wasn’t a stranger to detention.
“So why were you leaving the party?” he asks.
“I was keeping the fireplace company. Parties can be pretty lonely when all your friends are distracted.”
“I could be your distraction,” he says with a smirk.
“Yeah, right,” you say sarcastically, taking the cigarette. After taking a drag, you add, “Even Marlene’s cat wasn’t around. Made sense for me to leave.”
“Thought you were a dog person?”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I can’t like cats. When Hogwarts doesn’t allow dogs except for you, I have to settle for second best.”
“But why settle when the best is right here?”
You turn your head to fully look at him. Was he being serious? Was he flirting with you? You want to laugh at yourself. Of course he was flirting, this is Sirius Black of all people. You take another drag of the cigarette that you still had. After a moment of silence, you hand it back to him.
“I think you’ve had enough fresh air, Black. Let’s get you back.”
You hold out your hand for him to take, but he doesn’t. Instead he throws his arm around your shoulder again. You can tell whatever tipsiness he had coming up here had faded; he’s much more sure in his footsteps. Even his grip on your shoulder feels more sure. As you walk, he pulls out his pack of gum and offers you a piece. You take a piece and pop it into your mouth. The two of you don’t say anything until you reach the portrait. You stop walking a few steps away, causing Sirius’ arm to fall back to his side and him to turn around to look at you with a confused look.
“Aren’t you coming in?”
You raise one of your eyebrows and tilt your head. “Thought you said I could sod off to wherever when I got you back.”
“I mean, yeah, I did,” he says, giving you a half smile and scratching the back of his neck. “Just thought, you know, we were talking and you wouldn’t be keeping the fireplace company. You can hang out with me.”
“Like I said before, Black, your brother is more my speed.”
“Ah, come on, love. Don’t be like that. We can get the room playing a game or something. Spin the bottle, truth or dare, seven min-” he rambles until you put a hand on his shoulder, instantly silencing him.
“Good night, Sirius. Make sure Lily gets to bed okay. She was looking a bit gone earlier.”
Then you turn and head for the dungeons. Your bed was sounding real good right about now. As you walked away, Sirius stared after you. He thought you were leaving because you had no one to talk to you and he had offered a fix to that, so why were you walking away?
---
Regulus is still on the couch where you left him. You pass behind him on your way to your dorm.
“You smell like him again.”
“If he makes a move on me, you’ll be the first one I tell.”

Sunshine
Inspired by @danceinthunder 's post
It had taken him so long to break through Regulus's walls, he'd hardly taken real time to think about what would happen after.
He had been so obsessed, so enamored, so taken by even the slightly prickly exteriors of Regulus's masks, that he'd not even thought about what was underneath.
Well, that wasn't true. He was obsessed with what was underneath.
Occasionally, he'd caught a glimpse. When he shot him a compliment across the hall, a small, sweet, sincere smile cracked through the permanent scowl for half a second, and James celebrated. When James finally got the chance to pull Regulus into his arms, even for a second, he swore he heard the other boy let out the tiniest sigh of contentment, and it rang through James's ears like the sweetest melody for weeks.
But when he finally convinced Regulus that they were worth it, that Regulus himself was worth it, and that their feelings for each other were real and not some sort of joke or prank or something that was going to be ripped away at any second, James just expected Regulus to still be...well, indifferent. Aloof. Difficult to read. He wasn't mad about it- he loved working to gain one of Regulus's rare smiles. But he didn't expect anything to change.
But the day after they'd fought for an hour, snogged for two, and then declared themselves boyfriends, James almost fell out of his overstuffed armchair in the Gryffindor Common Room when Regulus walked towards him, grabbed his arm, and folded himself underneath it, tucked neatly into James's lap like they did this all the time.
"R-Reg?" James asked, lips tickling dark tresses as Regulus's face pressed lightly into his neck. He took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of mint, ink, and old books, and tried not to move, similarly to how he acted when Marlene McKinnon's cat made a home on his chest. "What-?"
"Hi, sunshine," Regulus hummed, his hands snaking around James's hammering chest.
"H-hi, baby," James stuttered, a huge smile breaking out on his lips.
"Whipped," he heard Sirius cough from behind him.
But he didn't care.
He wasn't going to move until Regulus did.

oh cruel, heartless fate
pairing: jingyuan x reader
genre: angstober, events
summary: yanqing's curiosity gets the better of him, resulting in jingyuan to reveal a bit of his past
word count: 1.1k
a/n: father jingyuan occupies my thoughts like nothing else. fun fact! this was slightly inspired by this one hoyolab post that i saw, where they were pointing out that yanqing has a protection charm on his left shoulder !!
ever since he could remember, yanqing had followed behind jingyuan like a shadow, under his watchful gaze as he trained, ate, even when the general was writing his papers.
as a curious little boy aged ten, he did what any unsupervised child did, when they were left to their own devices for the first time ever.
yanqing’s eyes glowed as he imagined finding legendary sword scripts and long-lost manuals in the bookshelf of the famous dozing general. he started snooping through the vast collection of the general’s books, hoping that behind, or in one of them, he would find the answer to becoming the swordmaster of all of xianzhou.
instead, he found an old and frayed box, worn with age and nestled between two books, which clattered to the floor.
when jingyuan came back into the room, he had found yanqing, crouching on the floor, staring thoughtfully at a box lying on the floor. in his hands, he mercilessly tore at a flower, with every fall of the petal, some words from his mouth.
“i can open it.”
“i ask the general.”
“i can open it.”
“i ask the general.”
raising an eyebrow in amusement, jingyuan silently padded behind the boy, his presence staying unknown.
“yanqing,” his deep voice rumbled from behind, amusement colouring his tone. he crossed his arms against his chest, peering down with a knowing look. “what are you doing?” like a cat that had been startled, yanqing lept into the air, eyes wide with surprise and cheeks flushed with horror.
“general,” he stuttered, eyes dancing across the room, refusing to meet jingyuan’s, guilt painted on his face. “i just found a box…”
yanqing’s head drooped, his golden hair covering his face, making his expression unreadable.
“i was wondering what it was about.”
it had taken the young lieutenant 3 days of pleading, persuasion and promises of not spending his money carelessly on swords before the dozing general finally gave into yanqing’s puppy dog eyes.
gently picking out the delicate box, the general sauntered towards his seat, dropping into it with the lazy gait of a cat. across the table, yanqing sat perched on his designated armchair, eyes wide with curiosity and beaming with joy. if he had a tail, it would almost fall off with how excitedly he was wagging it.
jingyuan flipped open the box, taking out the contents with care. out of it fell a set of golden rings and a jiāsuǒ.
yanqing watched as his general, no, his father figure’s eyes softened with a far away look.
“yanqing,” jingyuan began, licking his lips tentatively. “today, i’ll introduce you to [name], or in other words, your other parent.”
he had been a young soldier then, fresh from the horrors of war. the sky was bright with the twinkle of stars, artificial light warming in interiors of houses.
as he was strolling down the arum alley, the calming scent of tea floated down with the wind. nearby, he spotted a newly opened teahouse. thankfully, there weren’t many customers inside, with the owner sitting by their counter, their nose buried in a book.
gently pushing open the door, jingyuan entered, sitting down at a nearby table. the owner started in their chair, surprised that a customer had come at such a time.
“what brings you here?” they questioned, tilting their head curiously, as they set down their book with care, picking up a menu and walking over to where jingyuan sat.
oh how funny fate could be, for it was there, when jingyuan crossed paths with the one he was destined to be with.
yanqing watched as jingyuan’s gaze seemed to look beyond him, thinking of warmer times, when his battle wounds were cafeully bandaged with loving hands and the flutter of kisses ghosting across his skin.
the corner of jingyuan’s lips twitched into a wry smile.
“it had taken me a good half a year of persuasion and courting before they finally agreed to go out with me.” jingyuan sighed, amusement evident in his voice.
“you would’ve loved them, yanqing,” jingyuan continued, eyes pooling with sadness. “they’re just like you, the most stubborn yet admirable person i have ever met.”
yanqing remained silent, entrapped in this beautiful love story that jingyuan had begun to weave.
the years passed by slowly. often times, jingyuan wondered how you two became a couple. you were dedicated to your work, while he took the chance to slack off when possible. and yet, your relationship blossomed like a flower in spring.
he had popped the big question during your anniversary dinner, stunning the waiters and customers in the restaurant, while you were left gaping like a fish out of water.
with a flourish, he had knelt down on one knee, presenting beautifully decorated jewel box in front of you, sincerity in his voice as he asked to marry you.
oh how cruel and heartless fate could be.
it gave jingyuan his whole world, yet in a moment, it ripped it away from him, leaving jingyuan alone in this desolate world.
you died in his arms, too young to be taken away. even in your death, you didn’t forget about your work, requesting that he take care of your teahouse.
“when i die,” you smiled up at him, radiance beaming from your face. even in death, you looked like an angel sent from heaven. “i hope you can give everything i hold dear to the one the aeons send in my place.”
from within your hanfu, you produced a protection charm.
“give this to them, when you feel the time is right.”
then, jingyuan had furrowed his brows in confusion.
“àirén,” he whispered, voice cracking with sorrow. “no one would ever be able to replace you. i only need you, please, keep your eyes open, for me!”
looking at yanqing who sat opposite him, jingyuan finally knew the meaning behind your words.
the aeons had sent yanqing in your place, to bring light to his world again.
with a bitter smile, jingyuan gathered up one of the rings into his hand, slipping it onto a chain.
jingyuan beckoned yanqing to hold out his hand, placing both the heavy jiāsuǒ into his. yanqing cradled the valuable accessories like they were an egg, eyes wide with surprise.
“what-,” he stuttered, confusion painted on his face. “why are you giving me this?”
jingyuan’s deep chuckle echoed around the room.
“well,” jingyuan lamented, chuckling into his hand in amusement. “they were great friends with lady fuxuan after all, so she must’ve given them a hint.”
yanqing looked at the precious jiāsuǒ with wide eyes of delight. a gift, from his other parent, specially prepared beforehand for him. even though he would never get the chance to meet them in this life, he could feel the love and comfort the item radiated.
“you really are just like them.” jingyuan laughed, voice filled with mirth. “they would’ve wanted you to have it.”

Hello!! Was wondering if you could plz write something w the marauders where r is staying with them at James’ house during the summer for the first time. Esp since they’re in a relationship, she’s v shy and polite around his parents, like sort of embarrassed and apologetic when the boys’ are affectionate around them.
thank you sm!! Also, I’m sorry to see all the hate people leave for writers — you’re the best!!
thanks for being so lovely! unfortunately this ran away from me and it just includes james, not the other marauders, but i hope you still enjoy it anyways :') i'm sorry this isn't exactly what you asked for!
--
James leans down to kiss you in front of his mom, and you feel your stomach bottom out. He keeps it chaste against your cheek, but his hands curl around your waist and he keeps his forehead pressed against your temple even after his lips have parted from your skin.
"James," You mumble, cheeks blazing hot as you try avoiding his mother's watchful eye. There's no escaping it, though, it seems that the Potter family can't take their eyes off of you.
"Your mom is right there," Your whine comes out flustered as you push at his chest until he lets your waist go. Mother and son chuckle at you in unison, and Euphemia stands from her chair to take your face firmly in her hands, mushing a kiss against your opposite cheek.
"My son is in love with you," She beams, surely feeling the heat of your cheeks on her palms as she cradles your face, "And I couldn't be happier. He's been sweet like that all his life, darling, you should have seen the way he carried my sister's cat around whenever she brought her over."
Your chest feels lighter at his mother's kindness, though you wonder if you'll ever be able to lean into her son's affection in front of her without being nervous. When she reclaims her spot in the puffy armchair she'd been reclining in you let James take your hand freely, and he sends you a bashful smile.
"That cat hated me."
"And you loved her?"
"So much," James admits, a tinge of pink flooding to his cheeks, "I used to kiss her head so much that she'd bite me to ward me off."
"Poor thing," You laugh sympathetically, but you're not sure if the sentiment is aimed towards your loverboy boyfriend or the cat who'd been trying to escape his sticky seven-year-old hands.
"You're much nicer to kiss, y'know," He hums, and this time you let him take your face in his hands despite the slight awkwardness you feel as he leans in to peck at your lips, "You don't bite, and your nails aren't nearly as sharp."

[12] IVORY
warnings: teen pregnancy, absent father, disconnected mother, difficult pregnancy, health related issues, mentions of adoption, mentions of complications at birth
2013
“you’re pregnant?”
jieun’s voice wavered between shock and incredulity as she paced back and forth across the room. her hands ran through her hair, a gesture of disbelief and frustration. jennie sat on the couch, her fists clenched tightly on the edge of the cushion, her head bowed in shame.
“yes, mom,” jennie whispered, her voice barely audible. she could feel the weight of her mother’s disappointment and confusion bearing down on her. the reality of her situation was sinking in, and she couldn’t escape the overwhelming sense of fear and uncertainty.
her mother stopped pacing and turned to face her daughter, her eyes wide with a mixture of emotions. “how could this happen?” she hissed, tears welling in her eyes. “you’re only 17, jennie. what about your training?”
jennie’s eyes filled with tears as she struggled to find the right words. the pressure of the moment, combined with the reality of her situation, was almost too much to bear.
“i know, mom,” jennie said quietly, her voice trembling. “i wasn’t planning for this. it just… happened. and now i’m trying to figure out how to handle it.”
jieun’s face twisted with a mix of frustration and sadness. she had always supported her daughter in everything, and now it felt as if this pregnancy would stop everything her daughter had worked hard for. her life would be forever changed now, especially given her position as a trainee.
“it’s that boy, isn’t it?” her mother whispered, earning a slow nod from jennie. jieun’s expression darkened further. “does he know?” she added, which only deepened the pit in her daughter’s stomach.
“yes, mom.”
the older woman crossed her arms over her chest slowly as she stared at the ceiling in disbelief. she truly couldn't believe this was happening. “and what did he say?” jieun quickly asked, trying to collect her thoughts in a logical manner.
“he doesn’t want anything to do with me or the baby.”
jieun’s expression shifted from frustration to devastation. she quickly sat in the armchair opposite jennie, her eyes filling with tears. “how could you not tell me sooner?” she asked, her voice cracking. “and why won’t he take responsibility?”
the younger kim’s shoulders slumped. “he said it’s not his problem. i didn’t want to burden you with this, but i couldn’t hide it any longer.” the room fell silent, the weight of the situation hanging heavy between them. jieun’s mind raced, trying to reconcile her daughter’s situation with her own expectations for jennie’s future.
she had envisioned her daughter becoming a successful star, not facing this kind of personal upheaval.
“i just don’t understand,” jieun said softly, wiping away her own tears. “you’ve worked so hard, and now this? how could you two be so reckless?”
cat-like eyes were filled with pain. jennie knew it was her fault as well as his, but there was nothing she could do now to change that past. “i know, mom. i’m scared. but i don’t know what to do.”
jieun rubbed her temples gently, trying to remove the stress somehow. “does the company know?” she whispered slowly, trying to figure out the full situation. jennie shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears. “only teddy knows. he’s been helping me as much as he can.”
jieun’s face fell further, her concern deepening. “but how are you managing? how are you going to handle this without the support of the company? and how can teddy keep this secret?”
“i don’t know,” jennie huffed, leaning her head back into the cushions. “it’s already been hard. i’m exhausted all the time, and the stress is a lot. teddy’s been trying to help as much as he can, but he’s also busy. but he won’t let anyone else find out.”
the older kim sighed deeply, her frustration mingling with sympathy. as a mother, she wanted to take her daughter’s problems away. however, she knew that the young girl needed to take responsibility.
“jennie, you need to think about yourself and the baby. you can’t keep going like this. maybe being an idol isn’t your path—”
jennie slammed her fist against the coffee table, interrupting her mother as tears quickly ran down her face. “no. i’m not giving up. i can make it work. and maybe i’ll just put the kid up for adoption once it’s born.” she was determined to live out her dream, no matter what that meant.
her mother flinched at her outburst, her eyes widening with shock. the intensity of her daughter’s emotions was palpable, and she felt a pang of sadness for the turmoil jennie was going through.
but the thought of jennie considering adoption was a heavy blow, both to jieun and to jennie herself.
jieun took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “i understand that you’re overwhelmed. but this isn’t a decision you can make just because you’re exhausted and scared. it’s a big step, and you need to think about it with a clear mind.”
the younger girl looked away, her gaze distant and filled with a mix of sorrow and resignation. she knew she wasn’t thinking straight at the moment, but she had already been thinking about the adoption route since she found out she was with child.
“i don’t have time to think about it, mom. i can barely keep up with my training, let alone prepare for a baby.”
jieun’s heart ached at the sight of her daughter’s despair. she reached out, placing a comforting hand on her arm. “you don’t have to go through this alone. we’ll find a way to make it work, but you need to take care of yourself and the baby. if adoption is the path you choose, it should be a well-thought-out decision, not one made out of desperation.”
—
jennie made it very clear she wanted no prenatal help during her pregnancy. teddy had only taken her once, and that was to find out how far along she actually was. she had used a fake name for the appointment, having teddy act as her “father” during the visits to keep her true identity a secret.
the first and only prenatal visit was an emotional ordeal.
they had told her she was around 5 months along, which sent the young girl into a mental breakdown. the doctor called it a cryptic pregnancy, a term used when a pregnancy is not immediately or easily detected. jennie had always been small, and the subtlety of her baby bump had allowed her to keep the pregnancy hidden for much longer than expected.
but she thought she’d have more time to think about what to do with the baby. she thought she’d be able to go along with her pregnancy and take her sweet time in reaching a decision. now, it just felt like her world was quickly closing in on her.
as jennie struggled with the weight of her decision, her pregnancy also took a toll on her health. being a trainee meant relentless hours of practice and performances, leaving her little time for rest or proper nutrition. the physical strain of her schedule was compounded by the emotional stress she was under.
her body, already exhausted and fragile, quickly began to show signs of the strain. jennie’s once vibrant energy diminished, replaced by a constant fatigue that seeped into every aspect of her life. she struggled with nausea and dizziness, her appetite fluctuating between ravenous hunger and aversion to food. the demanding schedule of training and monthly performances left her with little time for adequate rest, and her attempts to keep up with the grueling pace were increasingly difficult.
some noticed the change in her, but she brushed off their concerns with vague explanations or evasive responses. she couldn’t afford to draw attention to her situation, not when every day felt like a balancing act between hiding her condition and meeting the expectations of her future career.
lisa, rosie, and jisoo all just assumed jennie was working harder than before due to the massive cuts from their latest performance evaluations and the constant pressure of maintaining high standards. the trio offered their support and encouragement, believing that jennie’s increased workload was the cause of her exhaustion. they would occasionally suggest taking a break or getting some rest, but jennie always waved off their concerns with a tired smile and a quick excuse about being focused on their upcoming schedules.
despite their best intentions, jennie was unable to fully confide in her bandmates.
she feared that revealing her pregnancy would not only jeopardize her position in the company but also expose her to public scrutiny that she wasn’t ready to handle. the secrecy was both a shield and a burden, protecting her from unwanted attention but also isolating her from those who cared about her.
her days were a blur of rehearsals, performances, and if she was lucky, quick meals. her nights were often filled with sleepless hours, worrying about her health and the future. every morning she would look in the mirror, noting how her reflection showed the toll of her situation.
truth be told, she wanted nothing to do with the baby at this point. she was sick and tired of being sick and tired. on top of that, why would she have to be a mother when her baby’s father wasn’t going to be a parent either?
it was a cruel way of thinking, but she wanted to be an idol more than anything else. she could be a mother some other time, when she was ready and when she was already done being an idol. this was why she quickly decided on putting her daughter up for adoption once she was born.
the idea of giving up the baby was a difficult decision, but it felt like the only viable option amidst the chaos of her life. the reality of being a single mother at such a young age, combined with the demands of her career, made the prospect of raising the child seem almost impossible.
her plan was to keep her pregnancy secret for as long as she could and then find a suitable adoption agency that could offer the baby a good home. jennie had already begun making inquiries, trying to figure out how to navigate the process without drawing attention to herself.
however, that all went out the window when she went into labor 7 weeks early.
it started with sharp, persistent contractions that jennie tried to ignore at first, attributing them to the stress of her demanding schedule. but the pain grew too intense, and she found herself unable to continue with her routine.
panic set in as she realized something was seriously wrong.
jennie’s attempts to keep her condition hidden proved futile. she was rushed to a private room in the hospital, her mother accompanying her discreetly. her heart raced with anxiety, knowing that she couldn’t afford any major complications, both for her career and the baby’s wellbeing.
the doctors worked quickly, assessing her condition and preparing for an early delivery.
in the sterile environment of the hospital, jennie felt an overwhelming, crushing sense of fear. the doctors and nurses bustled around her, their serious faces adding to her anxiety. she was given a brief explanation of what to expect, but her mind was consumed with worry.
she knew given the current state of her health, there probably wasn’t going to be a good outcome.
her daughter was born at 4:44 am on february 14th, 2014. she was incredibly small, barely weighing over a pound. the sight of her fragile, tiny form, connected to various monitors and tubes, made jennie’s heart ache with an overwhelming mix of emotions. the baby’s cries, though weak, were a stark reminder of the new life she had brought into the world.
the doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize the newborn, placing her in the nicu where she would need to stay for several weeks.
for the first two weeks, jennie didn’t even have a name for her daughter. in her mind, she couldn’t name her, because then she’d become attached, and she still was considering giving the baby up.
jennie could only watch through the glass, her heart breaking at the sight of her daughter’s tiny frame fighting for survival. she had visited the hospital every day once she was released after a few days, having teddy cover for her previous absence with the excuse that she had to travel to new zealand for a funeral. however, jennie’s initial plan to put the baby up for adoption was pushed to the back of her mind as she spent hours by the newborn’s side.
the nicu became a place where she found herself re-evaluating everything. the initial detachment she had tried to maintain dissolved as she held her daughter’s tiny hand and watched her fight through each day.
finally, after days of emotional rollercoasters, jennie decided to name her.
she finally felt as if this small being was actually part of her, regardless of the obvious biological facts. it was why she decided to give her daughter part of her name. the meaning of the name jane meant “god is gracious,” and there would be no other way to describe her daughter.
jennie knew she had survived one hell of a pregnancy, but she also realized that jane had survived it, too. her daughter was a miracle, a testament to strength and resilience that mirrored her own journey.
jane had stayed in the hospital for about 4 and a half weeks. jieun had agreed to take care of her granddaughter so jennie could focus on her job as a trainee, while also allowing jennie the opportunity to still be a mother.
an hour before the baby’s discharge from the hospital, the new mother found herself cradling the newborn with a mixture of anticipation and bittersweet emotions swirling within her. jennie watched as her daughter lay peacefully in her arms, her tiny hands and feet moving every so often.
today was a milestone—the day jane would finally go home.
as jennie leaned closer to the child, she observed jane’s calm demeanor, her wide, cat-like eyes focusing intently on two things: the soft, gentle images of elephants playing on the television mounted on the wall, and jennie herself. there was something profoundly touching about the way jane’s gaze would shift between the screen and her mother, as if finding solace in both.
jennie couldn’t help but smile at the sight. the elephants, with their ivory-like grace, seemed to captivate her daughter in a way that was both soothing and endearing.
it was as if the baby recognized something special in them—a serenity that mirrored her own journey.
and the way jane looked at jennie, with a trust and affection that spoke of their deep bond, was more than jennie could have hoped for.
“ready to go?” jieun asked as she zipped up the baby bag and stood up straight. jennie turned her body to face her mother, but because the action moved jane’s gaze away from the elephants, it caused the newborn to begin to whine softly.
jennie’s heart clenched at the soft sound. the way jane’s tiny face scrunched up in distress was a poignant reminder of how deeply connected they were. she gently repositioned jane so the baby could once again see the calming elephants on tv, soothing her with the familiar imagery. the baby’s whine quickly subsided, replaced by a calm focus on the screen.
jieun watched with a knowing smile, recognizing the new maternal behavior from jennie. she was glad her granddaughter wasn’t going anywhere. “everything okay?” she asked, sensing jennie’s hesitation.
jennie nodded, her eyes reflecting a mix of determination and tenderness. she took a deep breath and turned to her mother, who had been quietly observing from a nearby seat. “mom?” jennie began, her voice steady but urgent, “could you please ask the nurse to come here? i need to make an important change to jane’s birth certificate.”
jieun looked puzzled but supportive. “you’re changing her name?” she glanced over at the newborn who was still focusing entirely on the elephants that showed on screen. “i’m just adding to it. i’m giving her a middle name.” jennie answered, her own gaze shifting back to her daughter.
it wasn’t usual for koreans to have middle names, but jennie felt that this addition was important.
“oh?” the older woman smiled softly as she pressed the button on the side wall to call for the nurses. she turned to face jennie once again, a smile on her lips. “what are you going to add?”
the new mother paused for a moment, thinking carefully about her decision. however, it didn’t need too much thought. it felt right, it felt complete. and most importantly, it felt truly unique.
“ivory."

It didn’t matter how many times you frequented this place; your reaction would always be the same.
Heart picking up in speed as you opened the heavy wooden door between a nail salon and a cat cafe.
Eyes darting around at the picture frames of scantily clad people hanging on the burgundy walls.
Lips curling as you approached the androgynous young man sitting behind the singular desk in the lobby.
He was quick to notice you, glittered eyes crinkling in recognition.
“Y/N, so good to see you again!”
“Same to you, Felix. Is he here tonight?”
What did it say about you that a specific name didn’t have to be announced for him to know who you were talking about?
“Of course, he just got in a few minutes ago. I’ll give him a call.”
Nodding in understanding, you waited as the receptionist picked up the phone and dialed. It didn’t take long for him to start speaking to who was on the other end.
“Hey man, what’s up? I’ve got a surprise for you here.”
A pause while you fiddled with your purse strap.
“One of your regulars is back.”
Felix chose to shoot you a wink from the side, making you grin bashfully.
“Yup, that’s the one. How long will it be?”
More silence before he nodded.
“Sounds good, she’ll be waiting for you. See ya.”
Hanging up the phone, Felix shot you a smile that contrasted with the dark and sensual decor.
“It’ll be a few minutes, he’s just freshening up and he’ll be out for you.”
His words only made your pulse quicken further, but you played it cool on the surface as you replied, “Wonderful. Thank you.”
“Just make yourself comfortable, okay?”
His suggestion was paired with an arm outstretched towards a waiting area to the right, occupied with a few patrons sitting on black velvet couches. With a nod at the blond, you headed into the room, only receiving a glance or two from the other occupants. You took a seat on one of the armchairs in the corner, crossing your legs and leaning back into the cushion as you waited.
To soothe the nerves that always plagued you in this establishment, your eyes took in the people nearby. There were only five of them, taking up little space in the sizable room.
Two of them were huddled together on one of the sofas, most likely a couple judging by the way they held hands and touched knees. Not an ounce of anxiety was on their faces; if anything, they looked eager for whatever was in store for them tonight.
As for the others…
Your eyes shifted subtly to the opposite side.
Three young men who seemed to be good friends, but were currently on different wavelengths. The one in the middle was sandwiched between the other two as they whispered excitedly. He seemed to be less enthusiastic than them, leg bouncing while he kept shaking his head or retorting to the others. A pat on the back helped ease his nerves, body leaning back into the seat as he took deep breaths.
Poor sap was probably a newbie.
You remembered when you were in his position. It felt like so long ago.
Or maybe you had just been here so often that it felt like a long time.
Either way, you were in and knew what you needed tonight.
“Y/N?”
A familiar voice brought you to attention, straightening up in your seat at the tall and lean figure now standing in front of you as your stomach flipped in on itself.
“Hyunjin.”
The man smiled down at you, the red lights illuminating and shadowing the right places on his handsome face.
“Welcome back.”
You returned the expression, cheeks heating up despite your best efforts. He always seemed to have this effect on you.
“It’s good to be back.”
Hyunjin’s magnetic smile only widened, holding a hand out towards you. Without exchanging any more words, you took it, marveling at the warmth and delicacy of it. The opposite of what it could really do behind closed doors.
He helped you up and led you out of the waiting room and back into the hall. You saw the other patrons staring at the two of you out of the corners of your eyes, expressions ranging from encouragement to curiosity. Probably wondering what the enticing worker and the client in her wrinkled pantsuit were going to get up to.
Nothing was said as you and him walked past closed doors, the occasional sounds soaking through them. A moan. A groan or two. Some laughter. Once in a while a scream of pleasure. Or pain.
The first couple of visits, you’d jump and blink owlishly at the rooms, your gaping broken by the gentle tug Hyunjin would give your hand. You were used to these noises by now; it was nothing but background music to you.
Finally, a familiar door ended up in your vision. The dark wood with the red chain wrapped around the handle had your stomach knotting in titillation. Just like always.
Hyunjin opened it and motioned you to enter first, waiting until you stepped halfway in to shut it behind him.
His designated room fit the aesthetic of the establishment, yet it had its own style that catered to its owner. Black made up most of the decor, with the occasional blocks of white and garnished by gold. With the large bed in the middle, decorated with multiple throw pillows, any passerby would assume this was a normal person’s bedroom.
But the oddly-shaped chair looming in the corner hinted at what occurred here other than sleeping and relaxing.
“Need a drink?”
The query made you inhale and let out a heavy breath.
“Please.”
You made yourself comfortable on the end of the king-sized bed, unbuttoning your blazer before tossing it behind you. The urge to lay back and sink into the cozy mattress crept up, but you fought it in favor of watching Hyunjin work his magic at the mini bar.
“I hadn’t heard from you in a while, thought something might’ve happened.”
You shook your head, even though he couldn’t see you.
“No, just a deadline that’s been sucking the soul out of me.”
The worker hummed in understanding, turning around to reveal a glass in his hand, halfway full with white wine. As soon as he was within reach, you took a hold of the drink, wasting no time in taking a sip. The room temperature liquid slid down your throat like it was gold, pulling a sigh out when you pulled the glass away.
“Fuck, I needed that. Thank you, Hyunjin.”
“You’re welcome, Y/N.”
Hyunjin sat next to you, the distance enough to be respectable yet hint to the familiarity the two of you had.
“How have you been?”
One more sip and you turned your head to answer.
“On the verge of jumping out a window.”
The chuckle he gave was minor, though his expression exuded sympathy.
“Has work been that difficult?”
“Difficult doesn’t even come close to it.”
“Oh?”
Just that one little word was enough to have you prepping to express just what had been plaguing you in your career to even bring you here tonight.
“Well, where do I start?”
You moved your free arm back to lean on it, head tilting back to face the ceiling.
“Rumor has it that one of my managers is going to be laid off soon, despite our team being in the middle of a large project.”
You lifted the half-empty glass in the air.
“We have a new intern. Nice kid, but the amount of times he’s forgotten the basic details because he’s too focused on the big picture is irritating.”
The grip on the crystal stem tightened.
“I just found out that the sales coordinator who has been hitting on me is married. But if you ask him, he’ll say he’s in an open relationship.”
You sighed and shook your head.
“I actually liked that asshole.”
Hyunjin gave a scoff before remarking, “Men aren’t shit.”
“Seriously. Oh, and—” The lip of the glass hovered just centimeters away from your lips now. “—I got a parking ticket this morning.”
The tiniest of snorts left Hyunjin while you downed the rest of your drink, letting out a sigh of relief once it finished sliding down your throat.
“You’ve really been going through it, haven’t you?”
“To say the least.”
Your head turned, looking over the other’s appearance with interest. He always had the most interesting outfits on whenever you came, emphasizing his tall and lean figure. This time was no exception.
A short-sleeved sweater vest with a crisp white collar and a black tie wrapped around his neck and simple black slacks. A few bracelets and a watch on his wrists to brighten up the dark look. His hair was tied up this time, showing off an undercut you remembered him mentioning during your last visit. But while you were studying his face, you noticed something that wasn’t there before.
“This is new.”
You pointed to the metal sitting underneath Hyunjin’s right brow, his expression brightening.
“Ah, you noticed. I got it a few weeks ago.”
A hum vibrated through your lips as you admired the piercing.
“It suits you.”
He was quick to express his gratitude, clearly pleased that you brought it up. The two of you conversed on whatever came up for a while, acting like old friends and not a worker and client about to get down to business. But you started growing restless after a certain point, ready to receive what you came here for.
“Hyunjin?”
“Hm?”
You tucked a strand of hair behind your ear while looking into his eyes.
“I think I’m ready now.”
Your words made Hyunjin’s eyes steel, starting to enter into professional mode.
“Are you sure?”
No hesitation.
“Yes.”
“Okay—” He placed a hand on the small of your back, rubbing with comfort. “—how do you want it, Y/N?”
You knew. You knew since you began planning to come here earlier in the week. But it was a little further than what you were used to doing with him.
So you had to swallow the spit gathering in your mouth before responding, “Rough. Rougher than usual.”
The shift in Hyunjin’s dark eyes resembled the one you would see in your coworkers as they prepared to counter suggestions in meetings. His hand also stopped rubbing your lower back.
“How rough?”
His question forced you to take a moment and remember how the system he had set up worked. When you mulled over just how far you wanted him to go, you held up four fingers. He counted each digit and raised a brow at your answer.
“Are you sure? We’ve never gone that far before.”
“Yes, Hyunjin. I really need this, believe me.”
Your tone was verging on desperate, dying to give complete control over to this man and forget about anything irrelevant. It was just the professional in him making sure that his client knew what they were signing up for. You appreciated it, really.
But you needed Hyunjin to start making you forget your own name.
Thankfully, he nodded after a pause or two, his hand continuing to move again.
“Okay, love. That means we’ll have to do a refresher on safe words.”
Ah. Now you really had to dig in your brain this time.
You had never been pushed far enough that you had to use them, but now you were testing your boundaries. Hyunjin was good at his job, but that didn’t mean things couldn’t go wrong.
With intense focus, you attempted to recall the words. It took a while yet they returned in full clarity.
“Soft.”
“To keep going.”
You nodded.
“Hard.”
His mouth quirked.
“To bring up the intensity.”
The next one.
“Pause.”
“To stop completely.”
“And…”
This one took longer, but you managed.
“Swap.”
“To switch it up.”
You hummed in approval, his answers matching up correctly with your words.
“I’m surprised you remember.”
Hyunjin’s shoulders lifted in nonchalance.
“It’s my job, darling.”
A chuckle came from you; he did have a point.
“Fair. So—” You set your empty glass on the floor before standing up, cocking your head as you looked down at him. “—should I undress myself or would you like to do the honors?”
Hyunjin gave you the sauciest of smirks, letting you know that play time was over.
“It’s all up to you, love.”
Yes.
This was just what you needed.
To think about nothing except the toy sliding in and out of you and the one controlling it.
It took little effort on Hyunjin’s part to clear your mind of the troubles plaguing you outside of this building. As soon as you were stripped down to nothing but your skin, he was quick to switch to his other persona, instructing you to get comfortable on the piece of furniture in the corner before strapping you in with ease. The way his lips quirked when he looked over your bound form never failed to raise goosebumps. It was the last glimpse you got of him before satin covered your eyes and left you to view nothing but darkness.
And true to his promise, he began pushing you to your limits.
“A-Ah—”
You could hear him huff below you, taunting, “You’re making a mess on my furniture, darling.”
You were pretty sure he wasn’t exaggerating; every time the vibrator sunk in or pulled back, you could feel your wetness dripping out and collecting into a puddle underneath your ass. This was how you got whenever Hyunjin teased you. The ability he had to build you up and make you walk to the mountaintop, only to force you to turn around and head back down was astonishing.
And addicting.
“Mnh—”
It was pointless to tug at the bands around your wrists. You didn’t even budge an inch.
“So needy for a piece of plastic. It’s adorable.”
You tried to stop what came out of your mouth next automatically, but failed, retorting, “That piece of plastic is making me feel good— Ah!”
A sharp impact on your thigh brought a cry out of you, swiftly followed by his stern voice.
“Manners, Y/N.”
Oops. One of the rules established was to not talk back and you almost ruined the mood.
“I’m sorry, sir.”
Hyunjin clicked his tongue at your meek apology, clearly not too pleased with the interruption.
“I thought I was doing my job, but I guess not since your mouth just ran off.”
You couldn’t avoid the way your walls squeezed when you heard him say in a velvety tone, “Guess we’ll have to fix that, hm?”
Within a second, you could feel the toy pulling out, a whine escaping your lips as you felt so empty all of a sudden.
“Sir—”
He didn’t allow you to utter another syllable as you felt something wet and hot gliding against your swollen folds out of nowhere. The sensation made you jerk in your restraints and yelp sharply, legs bound tight to prevent you from closing them. You weren’t sure if it was a good or bad thing at the moment.
Hyunjin’s tongue took its sweet time traveling, the tip dipping into crevices and swirling around your hard clit with precision. In any other situation, the attention would be welcome, especially from someone as skilled as him. But this was not helping with the golden rule of the night.
Don’t come unless he says so.
“Hyu— Sir, please!”
You trembled at the hum washing over your center. “Hm?”
“Sir…more.” A pause. “Please?”
Almost forgot your manners.
“I don’t know, love, can you handle more?”
Could you? Probably not, but tonight was about pushing your boundaries…
“Yes.”
Nothing but your labored breathing was heard for some time. Which was why you flinched at the feel of something much smaller and warmer than the vibrator poking at your entrance.
“Is this good enough for you, greedy thing?”
“Y-Yes sir!”
Your pitch increased when you felt his finger slide into you with little resistance, burying up to the knuckle. Hips raising at the sensation, they began following the rhythm of Hyunjin’s thrusting, enjoying the bundle of pleasure that began building up again.
“Fuck, you’re so needy.”
A pinch of your hip interrupted your movements, teeth catching onto your bottom lip.
“Fucking yourself onto my finger like a slut. Never imagined that this would be what I dealt with tonight.”
There was no hiding the shiver that wracked your body at his words. And if there was a chance, it was wiped off the map when Hyunjin tapped onto your G-spot, ripping a shriek out of you.
“Shit!”
The chuckle you heard was dripping with nearly sadistic amusement at your predicament.
“There you go, making a mess again.”
Your face burned with unbearable heat as he pointed out the obvious, feeling your arousal dribbling out every time he stroked the soft area or thrusted into it. It was difficult to get like this with any of your previous partners, but the man between your legs had you in such a state without even breaking a sweat.
To make matters worse, Hyunjin went back to stimulating your clit with his mouth. You could hear the clinking of the chains as you pulled your wrists forward, barely making any distance. He had made it so you couldn’t move as he ruined you to bits; all you could do was squirm on the chair and express yourself through expletives and moans.
It didn’t take long for your body to sink into the rhythm he was creating, fighting less and less against the pleasure. You had even bucked your hips a few times, receiving chuckling and teasing from the other.
But then you realized at a certain point that you were getting too relaxed.
For a string deep in your belly began forming into a knot and pulling tight.
Fuck. Not good.
“Y/N.”
The rigidity surrounding your name made you freeze before Hyunjin continued, “You better not be doing what I think you’re about to do.”
“I-I’m not, sir—”
The way your voice shook and you tugged at your bindings betrayed your words. Denying the sensation only seemed to exacerbate it, the mass growing further and further the more his fingers slid in and out of your pussy.
“Doesn’t feel like it. Remember what I said?”
“Y-Yes.”
A sharp pinch to your inner thigh made you whimper.
“Say it.”
“Don’t c-come unless you say so. I promise I won’t, sir.”
A rub on that same spot was followed by, “Good.”
But he didn’t ease up. Instead, he continued his motions and challenged your resistance to breaking one of his rules. You were trying to give the facade that you were under control, but your body kept twisting and whimpers poured from your agape mouth.
It was so tempting to just give up and say your safe word, but fuck that.
You were on a mission tonight and you weren’t raised to be a quitter.
The sting of nails digging into your palms felt minor compared to the ache between your legs.
Fight it. Fight it. Fight it.
The sensation remained stagnant before finally beginning to fade into slight discomfort. Although your body protested, your mind was satiated by the praise you heard next.
“Good girl. I love when you listen to me.”
You hummed in appreciation at Hyunjin’s words and the hand gently rubbing your hip now.
“Th-Thank you, sir.”
The welcoming warmth of his palm lulled you into somewhat of a relaxed state that made you aware of the current position you were in. The hardness of the chair was starting to make your bottom sore and your hands and feet were starting to get a bit tingly now. Your lips turned downwards as you tried but failed to regain your discomfort.
“Sir?”
“Yes?”
“Easy.”
His touch paused, the heat stagnant on your skin.
“Are you uncomfortable?”
“A little.”
You heard Hyunjin hum before responding, “Should we move this to the bed, darling?”
Just the thought of laying on the soft duvet had your tone brightening as you gave your approval. The hand left your hip before landing above your head to work on loosening you from the furniture.
Feeling the leather unwrap from your wrists and ankles was a mild relief, flexing your toes and fingers for a moment before you felt your hips being grabbed and pulled downwards. Your legs came together quick enough to help you stand, although they had little strength once your feet touched the ground. Your sense of balance was affected from the prolonged position and you stumbled forward.
If it wasn’t for the hands that swiftly supported your waist, you would have ended up face first with the carpet.
“Be careful.”
Anyone unfamiliar with Hyunjin would have missed the minor softening of his tone, the immersion breaking for a moment to make sure you were able to continue. You took this opportunity to rest your forehead against what felt like his shoulder and regain your bearings. The sensation of fabric against your skin and the scent of his cologne entering your nostrils contributed to being aware of your surroundings once again.
After taking a few deep breaths, you straightened up, hoping that you were looking somewhere at Hyunjin’s face.
“Y/N, how are you feeling?”
A loaded question, really.
You were feeling like a mess in the best way possible, yet the sharp pang between your thighs was torturous. Every throb reminded you of what he had been putting you through for the last…
How long had it even been since you stepped in this room?
“I’m…soft.”
Hyunjin clued in on the word, a hum leaving him in response.
“I see. Do you think we should move this somewhere a little more comfortable?”
The invitation was more than welcoming to you. As much fun as you were having in the chair, nothing could beat the plushness of a bed. Especially his bed.
“I’d like that, sir.”
A rub of your waist made a thrill run down your spine, followed by his hands coming up behind your head.
“Should we take this off or leave it on?”
You didn’t want to risk nearly taking a spill again, so you chose the former, remaining still as Hyunjin undid the knot of your blindfold. As soon as the fabric was lifted off, you made the mistake of quickly opening your eyes, wincing as the dim light attacked them. The man in front of you chuckled in amusement, appearing as a blurry shape to you.
“I turned the lights down for a reason, darling.”
“Thank you…”
It took a minute to adjust, but you were able to finally see the other in full form, taking in his appearance.
Aside from a bead of sweat at his hairline, he looked nonplussed. Like he hadn’t been working you up with his own two hands.
Someone who was impeccable at his job.
“Come on.”
Hyunjin’s expression cooled, a hand sliding down to grip the back of your neck.
“Break time is over.”
The pang between your thighs returned in full force at the tone of his voice and touch, your head bobbing in agreement. He took a hold of your shoulders before turning you around, the king-sized bed in your view as he guided you to walk forward. Just as your legs were about to hit the foot of it, Hyunjin stopped you, leaning down to croon into your ear, “How do you want it?”
It wasn’t easy to answer immediately. The cautious part of you said to get in a position that wouldn’t break you down further, but the adventurous side wanted to go all out. You pondered for as long as you could, not feeling any sort of impatience from the man behind you.
But finally—
“Can I show you?”
Your question was answered with a hum, feeling his hands remove themselves. Once you were free, you stepped forward to climb onto the bed, stopping in the middle on your hands and knees. You lowered the side of your head to rest on the plush comforter, bringing your arms behind you to cross your wrists on the small of your back.
“Like this, sir.”
You heard Hyunjin make a sound of interest before footsteps echoed, stopping once his body was in your sight.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Your gaze connected with his. “And bind me again, please.”
Hyunjin quirked a brow, somewhat intrigued by your request. Studying your expression to find any hesitation, he gave his own approval once it was clear that there was none.
“Alright. Lift your head up for a second.”
You were a bit confused, but obliged, watching his arm go out of view to grab something above your head. It was clear what he went for when he slid the object under your temple before motioning you to lower it, the coolness and comfort of the silk pillowcase providing some relief.
“So you don’t walk out of here with a sore neck.”
A smile couldn’t help but form, looking up at him as you gave your thanks. The tiniest lift of his mouth occurred but disappeared swiftly, leaving your sight as he walked off to grab whatever was needed for this next phase.
You were hopeful that whatever would enter you next wasn’t his fingers or another toy. At this point, you needed something more substantial. And knowing how thorough Hyunjin could be with what he hid in his slacks had your veins thrumming with electricity.
But alas. You blanked out for a moment and forgot that it wasn’t going to be the usual song and dance tonight, per your request.
For after you felt him locking the familiar leather cuffs around your wrists, his fingertips trailed down your body until they stroked against your dripping folds.
“Have you gotten even wetter, darling?”
You swallowed down a whimper when he tapped your throbbing clit, replying, “Maybe…”
A short laugh and a pinch to your bottom was what you got in return.
“Why am I not surprised? I bet you’re hoping that I’ll fuck you now, hm?”
Even if your body remained still as a board, surely he saw the way you reacted between your legs.
“Yes sir.”
A light swat on your ass had your breath hitching.
“Yes sir, what?”
Oh. Here we go.
You had to wet your dry lips before speaking lowly, “Yes sir, I’m hoping you’ll fuck me.”
Hyunjin didn’t seem to be entirely convinced as he delivered another smack, earning a short but sharp sound from you.
“It doesn’t sound like it, Y/N. You seemed more desperate when I had that piece of plastic inside you.”
Now you could feel his fingertip parting your folds before it slowly opened your entrance, sinking in ever so slightly, not even close to stroking that sweet spot.
“Even when my finger was in, you sounded needy. I think you were satisfied with just those, no?”
He probably wanted you to convince him. Really convince him.
Time to reach into your depths and pull out the performance of your life.
“No, sir. They’re not enough.”
You dared to push your hips back, forcing the digit in deeper.
“I need your cock instead. Need it to fuck me dumb.”
A noise of intrigue came from behind you, but you continued before he could say anything.
“I really need this, sir. Want you to stretch my pussy out some more—”
You moved back further, breath hitching when your spot was nearly touched.
“Please fuck me now.”
Nothing but your own heartbeat was heard, hoping that your little show was enough to prove yourself. After a moment, you felt the finger inside you take its sweet time sliding out, hips following in vain. A hard slap was given on your ass, followed by a deep chuckle.
“That was impressive, darling. I’ve never heard you sound so needy before.”
As much as you wanted to bury your heated face into the bed, you remained steady. “I’ll do what I have to to convince you, sir.”
“I see—”
The noise of his belt coming undone made your ears perk up.
“Then I should give the little slut what she’s been asking for, right?”
It was so hard to hide your triumphant grin, but you managed to dim it down into the tiniest of smiles.
“Thank you, sir.”
A pat to your bottom was Hyunjin’s appreciation of your manners. It felt like ages before you felt him get on the bed to kneel behind your bent form. But when something thicker than a finger and warmer than a vibrator rested between your ass cheeks, elation began blossoming in your chest. It was hard to resist when you decided to wiggle, biting back a giggle at the slightest intake of breath from him.
It was a temporary victory as Hyunjin’s hands took a firm hold of your hips, keeping you in place now.
“Cheeky.”
You weren’t surprised at the pinch you received, taking it in stride. This was what you were waiting for all night. Hell, all day. You didn’t have to hope that he would, to put it simply, fuck the ever-loving shit out of you.
The man knew how to do his job thoroughly.
“Ready?”
You nodded, shifting your body a bit to prepare for what was to come.
“Yes, sir.”
With those two words, you could feel Hyunjin grab himself, readjusting to have his tip pressing lower down now. Your toes curled instinctively when you felt the blunt head of his cock parting your folds before he began penetrating. You forgot how to breathe for a moment at the intrusion, nails digging into your palms. But he was giving you what you asked for and that’s all you could want.
Until—
Oh fuck.
You were more sensitive than you realized, feeling the familiar tingle in your fingers and toes start as he sunk further in. You tried to stave off the sensations, but with each inch, you felt your self control withering away and collecting into a ball of tension in your lower stomach. Your walls began trembling before starting to clench around him in preparation for—
“Y/N.”
The sharpness of your name forced you to pay attention, especially when Hyunjin followed with, “Don’t.”
Damn. Your body was a rebel, trying to fight against his command, pussy still throbbing incessantly. You had to get it under control now. Who knew what he’d have in store if you disobeyed?
“I-I’m trying, sir…”
You were forced to shut your eyes as you tried your damnedest to regain control, from counting backwards to picturing a calm ocean. After a few countdowns, you managed to refocus, avoiding the inevitable orgasm. Even though your cunt was screaming at you to give in to the sweet release, you felt a sense of satisfaction at being able to hold back.
Hyunjin seemed to be impressed also, giving a gentle rub to your sore ass cheek before cooing, “Such a good girl.”
You exhaled sharply, only to suck in a breath when you felt him begin to move. The thrusts were slow and long, forcing you to soak in every bit of his dick. He had a way of rolling his hips that not many men had in them, rendering you weak within a couple of minutes. Now was not an exception, soft moans starting to leave your parted lips with increasing frequency.
“This is what you wanted, right?”
“Mnh— Yes, sir. Feels good—”
Funny how nonplussed Hyunjin sounded compared to you, already getting lost in the pleasure.
“Good. I better keep hearing you sound like this.”
“Of course— Ah!”
A deeper than expected thrust ripped a cry from your throat. Your fingers curled and dug into your palms as you tried to keep it together. As badly as you wanted to release, you were determined to stick to your challenge tonight.
Even though the man behind you was making it insanely difficult.
He wouldn’t stick with the same, old rhythm. If Hyunjin wasn’t switching his strokes up, he was grunting or husking out words that made heat spread throughout every part of your body.
Good.
You wanted to forget about whatever happened prior to you stepping in this building and he was doing his absolute best to see your wish through.
Time was a foreign concept while you were being fucked. Especially when you were doing your best to not come before you were given the go ahead. But like a splash of cold water, you suddenly felt Hyunjin completely bury himself, skin flush against yours.
A yelp left you at the change, ready to call out his name until you heard something gruff and velvety ring out behind you.
“Come.”
Was it the way his word was delivered with pure authority? Was it because he was buried deep inside your cunt, flush with your bottom? Or was it how tight he gripped your hips, fingers digging hard enough to feel the dullness of his nails?
Either way, it hit you like a freight train.
If anyone had been walking close in the hallway, surely they heard the way you screamed out.
Spots filled your vision, every bit of your body shaking at the long-awaited release. The only thing keeping you from completely sinking into the bed were Hyunjin’s hands.
“Yes, that’s it, darling.”
How you managed to hear his praise during your prolonged orgasm was a miracle. Eventually, the sensations faded and you were of sound mind again.
The dom must have noticed as you could feel him beginning to thrust into you again, bringing a feeling of strong overstimulation to you. You bit back a whimper, your pussy trembling in a mix of pleasure and discomfort. You tried to subtly shift away from him, but to no avail.
A pressure on the chain linking your bound hands was quickly followed by a commanding, “Don’t fucking run—“
A sudden jerk of your cuffs forced your body to straighten, your bound hands now trapped between your back and Hyunjin’s torso.
“You wanted to come so badly, I’m giving it to you.”
There was little space for you to protest at all, a hand coming up to wrap around your neck and an arm wrapping around your waist to keep you in place. As soon as a light pressure made your breathing hitch, Hyunjin began pounding into you, harder than ever.
If it wasn’t for his fingers, you would have shrieked.
The sensitivity from before still lingered, bringing a mix of pain and bliss that was unlike what you had experienced with him before. But you never spoke any of your safe words.
You just let the other keep pushing you over the edge repeatedly, to the point where you practically forgot your own name. Your entire body and brain were entering into a fog that could only focus on the cock driving in and out of you and the debauchery being rasped into your ear.
“Fuck, that’s it! Coming endlessly like a needy slut.”
“This pussy of yours just keeps squeezing me over and over—”
“Such a good girl for me, mnh—!”
Just when you were on the verge of asking him to slow down, you felt Hyunjin completely bury himself before remaining still behind you. The gritted swearing and strong twitching of his cock against your hypersensitive walls clued you in to what was happening, a mix of relief tinted with satisfaction washing over you.
As the two of you caught your breath, exhaustion started sinking its claws into you. Your eyelids became heavy, threatening to close when he released your neck and waist to gently lay you on your front. Landing on the duvet only made the sensation worse, leaving you limp as a noodle.
If you had been by yourself in this room, there would’ve been no way to get out. Thank God for Hyunjin being here to look out for you.
You could feel him undoing your cuffs before he carefully rolled you onto your side, guiding you into a fetal position that was much needed.
“How are you feeling?”
Spent. Satisfied. Ready for a nap.
But all you could muster was a weak grunt.
Hearing Hyunjin hum, you felt a warm hand lay between your shoulder blades and begin to rub.
“Would you like something to eat and drink? It’ll help get your energy back.”
At least you could manage a nod, lids fluttering.
The hand was removed as he went to grab whatever he had stored away for moments like this, leaving you to try your best to not fall asleep right there. Luckily, Hyunjin returned swiftly, soft voice sounding again. “Darling, I’m going to sit you up, okay?”
You managed to croak a feeble response, allowing him to guide you to sit up against the pillows. You saw spots for a moment, leaning your head back to try and blink them away.
“Here.”
You looked down to see the lip of a water bottle in front of your face. With Hyunjin’s help, you managed to latch on and drink. Once you got a satisfying amount down, he handed you a small pack of saltines, already opened.
“Is this fine or would you like something else?”
The tiniest of smiles came over as you took the package.
“This is perfect. Thank you.”
Hyunjin reflected your expression, waiting until you ate one of the crackers before reaching for your free arm. As soon as his lithe fingers began working into your stiff muscles, you sighed in contentment.
“Your arms must be killing you right now.”
“Mm, I’ve had worse being in the gym.”
The dom chuckled at your light quip, glad to see that you were coming back down easily.
“I’ll still give you an Aleve before you head out, your tune might change in the morning.”
Even though your eyes rolled, you were appreciative of his thinking ahead. One of the reasons you always came back.
“Thank you.”
While you were snacking away, Hyunjin continued massaging all of your limbs, chasing away the aches and tingles with little effort. As soon as you finished eating and chugged your last bit of water, he was quick to offer you more, but you declined.
If you filled your stomach any more, you definitely would have curled up in your spot and taken a nap. You didn’t want to go over your time limit and interfere with his next client.
Once you had your bearings about you, you let Hyunjin know that you were ready to leave. He looked you over once more to make sure you were able to head home safely before helping you into the adjoining bathroom to freshen up. You cleaned up as best as you could and redressed, not caring that the wrinkles in your pantsuit worsened by now.
Your companion for the night took your hand and led you out and back down the hallway, your mood a 180 from a couple of hours ago. Stress didn’t run through your veins anymore, replaced with a lightness that could only come from a place like this.
“So how long will it be until I see your face again?”
A shrug greeted Hyunjin’s question.
“Hopefully not as long. I’ve still got some PTO left that I can use, so who knows?”
“Hm, we shall see.”
The two of you reached the entrance to the waiting room, the other stopping to turn and face you head-on.
“So this is goodbye, for now.”
You nodded and replied, “It is. Thank you again, Hyunjin. You don’t know how much I needed this tonight—” your teeth flashed, “—it’s like an entire weight off my shoulders.”
Hyunjin smiled politely, taking your free hand as well to give both of them a careful squeeze.
“As always, it’s my pleasure. You did great, Y/N.”
The praise brought a flutter to your chest and a warmth to your face. He was never shy with compliments. Although you had to wonder if his clients ever returned the favor on the regular…
Time to take a chance.
“So did you, Hyunjin.”
The way his eyes scrunched and teeth flashed, paired with his cheeks turning pink, let you know that you made the right decision.
“Thank you, darling.”
With a kiss to your hands and a good night, he sent you off on your way. You had a bounce in your step as you headed past the receptionist desk, Felix in the middle of a conversation with a young woman.
“I can guarantee you’ll have a good time with him, he’s one of our best here. Oh, Y/N!”
The call of your name made you pause, acknowledging the blond.
“How was it?”
Your grin expressed everything and more as you answered, “More than I needed and wanted.”
Felix beamed, pleased with your feedback. “Excellent! I actually have this wonderful young lady here asking about Hyunjin—” he jerked his head towards her, “—maybe you can give her your two cents?”
Said woman looked at you now, her lips curving with kindness and modesty.
“Hello. You’re familiar with Hyunjin?”
“Very. He’s my go-to guy whenever I visit. I’ve never had the urge to choose anyone else.”
Her eyes widened, curiosity covering her face now.
“Wow, really? That’s quite the preference.”
Watching the way she reacted reminded you of your first time here; on edge and unsure what exactly you wanted from one of the doms. If it wasn’t for the extensive patience Hyunjin showed you that first night, you never would have stepped foot in here again, let alone multiple times.
She had nothing to worry about.
“Mhm. Honestly, from one woman to another, I say go with him. Trust me—” you gave her as much of a reassuring smile as you could muster, “—you’ll be in good hands.”

Can I request a part 2 of Sebastian's S/O accompanying him on contracts? Maybe sebastian gets a bit upset/jealous because Y/N has acted like a parent to Ciel recently by reading him bedtime stories and things like that.
Y/N tells Sebastian. "Darling, when was the last time our room was checked for cats?" And Sebastian realizes what Y/N is doing. (I might arguably like cats more than Sebastian)
.。*♡ A/N: This is such a cute rq 🥺🤭, I loved writing this tbh. Hope u like it too, darling and sorry for the huge delay hehe!
.。*♡ Warning: Yandere content, implied possessive thoughts, biting and kissing, angst if you squint bcs Ciel. Possible typos.
The clock ticks tick-tock, tick-tock incessantly. The soft sound wouldn't bother the demon on any other night, but today the sound drags on and on, the hands dancing rhythmically, over and over. On any other night, Sebastian would have you beside him as your fingers comb his raven hair and he leaves soft kisses over your cheek and forehead and lips.
Sebastian is not a jealous demon, at least he thinks so. Considering the way other demons treat their partners like precious jewels and lock them away to protect them from the world, Sebastian makes sure he gives you enough freedom and cares for your happiness enough that you always come back to his arms at the end of each night. Except a week ago, as soon as the day's business is over and everyone retires to their rooms, you don't return to him - not right away, anyway.
And your thirty minutes late makes him uneasy, he needs his mate by his side. He needs you in his arms to finally feel relax from the routine. And yet, you'd rather go to the young master's room and read to him every night - a ritual you started a week ago.
A week when Sebastian has to stand longer and watch you read Ciel children's books and fluff his pillows before retreating with an almost parental smile. As an observer, Sebastian can only speculate on the reason for your odd behavior - surely you don't want children, you would have said so. But what if that's the way you found to express that desire and he didn't realize it? His head is full of "what ifs".
He moves to close the windows and curtains as you sit in the armchair next to Ciel's bed and open a book. The demon's reddish eyes find their way to the boy's rosy face, annoyed and uncomfortable, so alien to the small, simple moments a child should have. Sebastian could almost feel sorry for him if the scent of his soul wasn't so good and tempting.
'You are cruel', Sebastian thinks. You are cruel when you read to him, making funny and different voices, expressing the events of the books through exaggerated gestures, even though Ciel asks - asks, but doesn't order - that you stop. You are cruel when you smile and lean in to pinch the earl's rosy cheeks, yet he flinches from the contact as if his skin is burning.
You're cruel when Ciel's eyes close, but you keep holding one of his hands, pretending not to notice the slight tremor and stiffness because he's afraid you'll disappear and this new routine will end. You are cruel when you lean down and kiss his forehead, cover him with his warm blankets and ruffle his blue hair before sighing and placing the book on the desk, sending a cunning look at Sebastian.
The same look as when you found out you were soul mates and kissed him fiercely, the same look as when you said you would accompany him and be by his side. Sebastian loved that look. He was weak for that look.
Your movements are full of elegance as you beckon him with your index finger as you leave the earl's room, taking his hand in yours as you walk slowly back to your room. The ticking sound fades away, saving Sebastian from a growing headache now that he has you by his side.
"Darling, would you mind clarifying something?" He asked once you were back in the safety of your room, wrapping his arms around you like you were the most precious thing to him.
You let yourself be guided to the bed, laying your head on his shoulder and closing your eyes. A great weary sigh leaves your lips as you feel the warmth and security emanate from your loved one's arms, wanting more, wanting to be closer, wanting to be embraced by his essence. It was almost impossible to put into words how right it was for you to be there.
After a few seconds, you open your eyes and face him with a small smile, almost as if you know the confusion he felt and the thoughts he had. And you probably could, soul mates, especially supernatural soul mates, could share a lot of things: feelings, thoughts, memories, learnings, it was an almost unconscious process, but you were a sneaky little thing and he's sure you could figure out how to get into his mind.
"The reason why I started reading for Young Master?" You ask, turning to cup Sebastian's face in your hands carefully, placing several small kisses all over his face. And he nods, making a smile grow on your lips.
"Why, my love, reading to him is like playing with a puppy." You think, remembering the furtive glances, skittish demeanor and blush on the young boy's face. He was so cute you could almost bite his cheeks until they bled. "But yeah, there's a reason, honey, tell me, when was the last time our room was checked for hidden cats?"
You stifle a laugh at Sebastian's thoughtful expression as he puts together the pieces of the little puzzle that has been bothering him for that entire week. A sigh of disbelief escapes his throat as he looks up at you and takes in your smug gaze.
"Perhaps, you are more cruel than I realized." Sebastian thinks aloud, laughing at the sound of indignation that fell from his lips. He smiles, and it's his turn to shower your face and neck with slow, hot kisses, just the way you like it. It turns you to jelly right away. "I appreciate it, but I would still rather have my soulmate by my side at night. It's almost torture to endure all these minutes without you by my side, besides there are several other hiding places that I haven't shown you yet. Hiding places the young master would never find."
You let yourself be pulled into his lap, still feeling every place he kissed burn slowly, lips scraping over the foot of your ear as the demon watched you gasp. "You were very cruel leaving me and reading to the brat night after night."
"Is that jealousy I hear, Bastian?” You teased him. “Jealousy and clinginess?”
The lips that were close to your ear closed on your neck, biting the skin hard enough to draw blood and the pained moan that echoed through the room was inevitable. His warm tongue licked every red drop that ran down your neck and you felt him smile.
You knew Sebastian was proud, he just wouldn't admit he was jealous, especially of a human child. He would perhaps rather pretend to be a priest and deliver a sermon to a packed church than admit how jealous he felt and the thought made you laugh, even if your neck burned and the funny attempt to punish you was in vain. You could almost double over with laughter. You could imagine him wearing a signature robe with his hair slicked back and his reading glasses draped over his face. He would be the perfect sinful image that believers should turn away from.
"Oh darling, you can bite and kiss me some more," You said in a tired voice, then added, "But I only speak the truth."
"That's rich coming from a demon." He snarled.
"Ah, shut up." You silenced him by laughing. "Let's go to bed already, I want to sleep cuddling with you."
Sebastian smiled. He couldn't deny you that, even joking, when you asked him with that voice and that sweet look, he was incredibly weak to you and promptly did what was asked, parting with you to get rid of his shoes and tailcoat while you did the same with your uniform.
Within minutes, you found yourself in each other's arms, red eyes meeting yours, as you leaned in to share one last kiss.
Demons didn't need to sleep and Sebastian preferred not to, but you used to take a little nap after a long day to recharge and your strong grip on his waist ensured that Sebastian wouldn't run away from your arms while you slept, the thought of the empty, cold bed beside you bothered you, even in unconsciousness your grip would not loosen.
Your head nestled against his chest, your eyes slowly closing as you listened to the soft sound of his heart synchronizing with yours. The world slowly blurred as you felt Sebastian's loving gaze on you.
"Love you my jealous demon, see you in a few hours."
And with that, you entered the world of dreams, letting your soulmate take care of you and watch over your sleep.

if you could typecast the grid as stereotypical americans who would be who? (idk if i'm making any sense) but for example bezz gives very cali stoner energy.
god this one is hard because they are all so stunningly european. truly. american men do not act like that. the jean tightness alone. ummm. okay let’s start with the easy ones
pecco: pecco is from a suburb like three hours from chicago and he tells everyone he’s from chicago. framed bulls jerseys on the wall etc
pedro acosta: someone said baseball player from north carolina and yeah. i can imagine bumping into this guy at cookout. like he’s giving charlotte/macklenberg county. serving gastonia. he went to nc state with my friend thomas and he has strong basketball opinions.
bez: califoniaaaaa you’re right. of the surfer or skater variety… either way he’s in baggy as fuck clothes skulking around outside kicking it whenever he can. eating a sandwich
vale: new jersey. my trashy italian american clown princess
mav: screams boston 2 me
aleix: too european im being real. insane amounts of european. kind of breaking my brain sooo im not assigning him one
enea: gay ass san fran guy with his lil dog. walkin around the castro the dog gets hot. he picks up the dog. gay pride flag in the background. i cheer. he’s drinking espresso that costs fourteen american dollars. that’s like 12.50 euro google is telling me
casey stoner: this bitch is from vermont
luca: right across the river from vale in new york citayyyy… i think he would thrive in an environment where he doesn’t look insane wearing something very elegant and a lil dressier. like you can’t really do that in idk. most of the south or midwest or southwest or— anyways we’re sending him to nyc
jorge martin: i COULD see him hanging out in florida but like slutty florida not trashy florida. just on a beach in miami in the tiniest shorts imaginable with aleix comma also there europeanly. idk
joan mir: LOUSIANA. need to take his pissy ass to the bayou.
jack miller: attended the university of alabama and was perhaps too invested in SEC football culture. i would end this by saying roll tide for comedy but that would make me gag here in real life. anyways
marc and alex. hmmmmmmm. i could see outside austin texas as that seems 2 be hallowed ground for marc lol. alternatively. kentucky. horse boys. this is another hard one i’m open to suggestions here cuz nothin is jumping out at me tbh
franky: seems into mindfulness in a way that is giving seattle. runs a bookstore with REALLY good staff picks. big ass armchairs HUGE used book section that smells good. sitting there petting the store cat in a flannel with the sleeves rolled up. sipping his coffee. works nights at the local bar sometimes. who said that.
brad binder: denver.
#a mix of cities and states alas i am not perfect#PLEASE fellow usa people give me ur thoughts on this quote a few stumped me#motogp#callie speaks#asks#like truly you guys. you get called gay if you’re a man wearing a turtleneck here it is a different vibe.

hello !! This idea is a bit basic, but I was wondering if you could write an ominis x fmc fic where the mc is coddling an animal with all sorts of affection and ominis, who has a crush on the mc, is jealous. It’s a pretty fluffy request, but perhaps the ending could be a bit suggestive? Anyway, regardless of whether you take this request or not, thank you for all your work! I have had such a struggle finding good ominis pieces lately
A Peculiar Pet
Ominis Gaunt x f!MC - Fluff - 2.2k words
A/N: hiii, ty for the request. this was sooo cute and i had a lot of fun writing it! the ending isn't suggestive and maybe a bit too platonic/unrequited, but i might make a part two if that's something you guys would like (:
Summary: After MC rescues a strange cat on her latest trip to Hogsmeade, her friendship with Ominis becomes strained by his sudden jealousy.

“What the hell is that?”
She scowled, looking up at Sebastian who was staring down at the purring carpet in her lap.
“That is my familiar,” she informed, stroking gently under what—presumably—was supposed to be a chin. “Poor thing was nearly starving to death just outside of the Hog’s Head. I rescued him.”
Sebastian eyed the creature warily. “Are you sure? By the looks of it, you were too late.”
“Oh, shut up, will you?” she wrapped her arms around the cat protectively and it gave a little grunt of approval. “He just needs a bit of a bath. Isn’t that right, Snuggles? My beautiful baby boy, yes, yes you are. Oh, mummy loves you so much—”
“You’ve given birth?” Ominis suddenly emerged beside Sebastian, looking just as appalled.
“Yes. To an abomination,” he grimaced. “Clawed its way out of her womb straight from the depths of Hell.”
“I didn’t ask for the opinion of either of you,” she seethed, standing up abruptly and clutching the mass of fur protectively to her chest. “If you’ll excuse me, Snuggles and I will be finding more pleasant company.”
She stormed past the two and Ominis blinked confusedly after her. Sebastian simply raised his brows.
“What was that all about?”
Sebastian shrugged. “Motherhood, I suppose.”
//
“Is that…normal?”
Ominis clenched his jaw as he listened to her start on what must have been the eighth bedtime story just that evening. She had been planting kisses all over the creature for the past hour, fawning over him and drowning him in all kinds of affection. Snuggles showed little more than a periodical snot-nosed snuffle in appreciation.
Sebastian shrugged, glancing over. “Beats me. Maybe it’s hormones or something.”
“She’s obsessed with it! That can’t be healthy. Shouldn’t we do something?”
Sebastian laughed. “Relax, Ominis. It’s a cat. The thing’s a hundred years old anyway, let her care for the critter while it’s on its last legs.”
“I suppose so,” Ominis relented, still slightly acerbic.
He listened to her voice taper out, words becoming slurred as exhaustion seeped into her. He rose from his seat with a sigh, trying his best to be open-minded about the ordeal.
“Here, let me watch over him,” he said, reaching a hand towards her shoulder to gently rouse her. “You should really get some sleep.”
As soon as his hand touched her, the creature immediately shot up and hissed at him, its abnormally sharp teeth viciously bared. He jerked back in surprise and she blinked awake, shushing the feline with soothing coos. “It’s alright, Snuggles, he’s a friend.”
The furball from Hell did not look convinced.
“I’m fine, Ominis,” she murmured through a yawn, sitting up to stretch. “He’s had a fever all day, I have to keep an eye on him.”
“You have to keep an eye on yourself,” he grumbled.
“I’m fine,” she insisted, already beginning her coddling again. “And you will be too, won’t you, angel? Yes, you will! Mummy will make sure of it.”
Ominis heaved a long-suffering sigh and retreated back to his armchair. Sebastian eyed the defeated expression on the blonde’s face for a moment, looking starkly amused.
//
That following weekend, Ominis retreated to the common room for his usual plans of afternoon reading, hoping that this time she wouldn’t bail on him like she’d been doing all week.
“Oh, my, look at you! Aren’t you handsome?”
He froze at the bottom of the stairs, hand gripping the railing. He was suddenly aware of an unbidden heat rising to his cheeks. “I’m–I’m sorry?”
“Oh, yes you are,” she cooed, ignoring him. “My precious boy.”
Ominis frowned, shoulders sinking at the realization of who she was actually speaking to. He tried to suppress his sour mood as best as he could as he stalked past her towards his usual seat in front of the fireplace.
He opened his book and lasted about two pages before the sounds of her fawning over the little monster ground his patience down to the bones.
“Do you mind?” he bit out tersely. “I’m allergic,” he lied.
“I’m not even near you.”
That’s precisely the problem, he wanted to say, bitter about how distanced she’d been ever since she’d brought the creature home. As woe as Ominis was to admit he was jealous of a cat, it was hard not to be when he’d seemingly been completely replaced.
Before, he had been her reading partner. They’d share one of the loveseats in an isolated corner of the common room and trade tidbits of whatever novel they were consumed in. Now, his spot was occupied by the matted ball of fur she called her baby.
He shut his book abruptly, not even bothering to conceal his sneer. “Must you spend every waking minute with that thing?”
She glanced up at him, surprised by his sudden hostility. “What’s the matter with you, Ominis?”
“What’s the matter with me? You’re the one obsessing over a cat. It’s ridiculous.”
“He needs me. Must you be so inconsiderate?”
Ominis’ fists clenched in frustration at his sides. “Well, he isn’t the only one who needs you!”
There was a long silence in which she stared at him perplexed. “What is that supposed to mean?”
He reddened, staring down at his shoes. “I…just mean that you’re…that…”
“Go on,” she spat, tone lacking all patience. “Say what you mean.”
He glanced up sharply. “You’re neglecting all of your friends to care for that dreadful monster.”
She gasped, covering what was presumably the furball’s ears, but looked more like shriveled horns covered in hair. “Well, maybe it’s because I can’t bear to be around friends who are all so heartless.”
Ominis looked like she might as well have slapped him.
She stormed off with the cat in her arms for the second time that week, leaving Ominis to contemplate with an admittedly inappropriate sense of possessiveness when he’d ever get her back for himself.
//
Following their fight, Ominis had resigned himself to wallowing over the tattered remains of their friendship for the next few days when his melancholic reverie was shattered by a Gryffindor storming into the Slytherin common room.
Sebastian glanced up, looking as appalled as he would if a ten-foot troll had broken in. “How did you get in here?”
Garreth snorted. “It’s not like you lot are particularly creative with your passwords. Aspiration, really? What’s next, cunning?”
“That was last month’s…” Sebastian sighed under his breath, sounding defeated.
She appeared making her way down the common room steps a few moments later, pointedly ignoring Sebastian and Ominis’ presence and presenting Garreth with the feral throw-rug.
“Godric’s saggy bollocks, where the hell did you get that?” Garreth shrieked, nearly dropping all the Potions supplies in his hands.
She scowled. “Don’t tell me you lack all empathy as well, Weasley.”
He blinked at the creature in her arms warily. “I thought you said you needed a fever relief potion for a cat.”
“I do,” she frowned. “Snuffles has been sick all week.”
“That is not a cat.”
“Told you,” Sebastian muttered from his place beside Ominis, eliciting a swat to his arm.
Her tone immediately grew tense with defensive indignation. “So what if he’s a bit…unconventional looking? That doesn’t make him any less deserving of love and affection!”
“No, you misunderstand me,” Garreth said gravely, eyes still wide. He stalked towards her slowly with his hands outstretched, as if she were holding a grenade with its pin pulled out. “That is not a cat. That… is a bloody manticore.”
Ominis blanched. Sebastian dropped all pretenses of feigning he wasn’t eavesdropping and burst out laughing. “Oh, Merlin, that’s just too good.”
Her face fell. “What?”
She glanced down at Snuggles perched happily in her arms, brows furrowed as she studied him more intently.
“Oh dear Circe, put it down!” Garreth gasped when the creature moved, stretching lazily. It seemed hardly phased by the commotion around it. “You’re lucky it’s only a few weeks old and its poison glands haven’t matured yet. Although, even this young its bite is still strong enough to cut clean through bone.”
She seemed hardly deterred by the revelation. Cautiously, she pulled back the matted fur covering its head and gasped when an infantile, almost human-looking face was revealed. One thing was certain, it was positively not a cat.
Snuggles blinked back lazily at her, still purring while he rubbed himself affectionately on her arm. She frowned and glanced up at her friends, looking starkly heartbroken.
“I…I suppose…you all were right.”
Something in Ominis’ chest seized at how defeated she sounded.
She stared tearfully down at the manticore in her arms. “I’m sorry, Snuffles.”
“Let’s get it to Professor Howin,” Garreth spoke up, attempting to place a comforting hand on her shoulder, though he looked too wary of Snuffles to actually touch her. “She’ll know what to do.”
She nodded reluctantly.
//
Professor Howin contacted the Ministry and successfully turned in the manticore to magizoologists by the following morning.
Despite Howin’s repeated insistence that it was the safest option for Snuggles, its departure was no easy cross to bear for its former guardian.
Nearly a week later she was still mourning its loss as if her own kin had been ripped away from her. She was utterly inconsolable, and after walking in on her crying quietly in the late hours of the evening far too many times, Ominis decided he couldn’t bear her grief any longer.
The following day, he devised a plan. Come evening, he approached her usual lonely spot tucked away in the Undercroft, his hands tucked surreptitiously behind his robes.
She glanced up and frowned. “Are you here to rub it in?”
He sighed. “Of course not. I’m here to see if you’re alright.”
She sniffled, eyes lighting up. “Are you really?”
He nodded, kneeling down beside her. “I feel guilty for being so inconsiderate,” he said. “It’s silly to admit but…I suppose I just felt a little left out.”
She giggled then, the last vestiges of sadness steadily dissipating from her voice. “You’re lying.”
He shook his head, looking conflicted as if he were contemplating actually coming clean about how he had felt. He let out a long-suffering groan. “Oh gods, it’s humiliating. I was jealous of a cat—or well, what I thought was a cat, at least.”
She grinned, looking amused. “Oh, I understand. It’s because I didn’t give you belly rubs as well, is that it?”
He rolled his eyes, biting back his own smile. “No, no. It was the lack of bedtime stories that really stung.”
She laughed then, and the sound warmed him to his very core, reminding him of hot tea and the warmth of a fireplace with a good book curled in his lap.
He was broken out of his admiration by a jostling in his hands. He cleared his throat, remembering that an apology wasn’t the only thing he had met her there for.
“I…have something for you.”
She looked at him expectantly and he carefully untucked a small box from behind his robes, various holes cut around the sides. As soon as he held it in his lap, the box gave another little jolt. She looked at it bewildered.
He took a deep breath as he slipped off the lid, and the first tiny meow escaped. She gasped in delight, eyes glittering with disbelief as she stared down at the little animal.
“Is that…”
He nodded. “She’s yours.”
“Oh, Ominis!”
He was nearly toppled over by the force of which she threw her arms around him, squeezing him so tightly he could barely breathe. His hands found her waist to brace himself, his thumb brushing softly under her ribs as he reciprocated her embrace.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she gushed, peppering his face with kisses. He flushed so red he was surely the same color of the little ginger kitten in his lap by the time she stopped her attack.
“Don’t…don’t mention it,” he laughed sheepishly, voice sounding terribly dazed.
The kitten gave a petulant little mewl and she finally detached herself, pulling back with a departing peck to his cheek. She picked up the cat, pressing a soft kiss under its scruffy chin and acquiescing its whines.
“Oh, aren’t you just so precious?” she cooed. “Your mummy and daddy will take such good care of you— oh yes, yes we will!”
Ominis managed to flush even more. “Oh, am I included in this now?”
“Well, of course. You rescued her, after all,” she smiled brightly, suddenly entwining her fingers with his. “We’ll care for her together.”
Ominis felt that warm sensation bloom in his chest again at the feeling of her hand in his. He stroked his thumb over her knuckles reverently, unsure of what to do with so much permission to touch her. The contact was so tender, his heart felt like it might just burst out of his chest.
As if it could sense his acceptance, the kitten suddenly jumped from its place in the crook of her arm onto Ominis’ shoulder, purring contentedly in his ear and rubbing itself against his neck.
She gasped. “Oh, look, she likes you!”
Ominis couldn’t help the smile pulling at his lips, bringing a hand to pet tentatively at the small thing. The kitten leaned into his touch, preening under his affection as he rubbed an index against its soft underbelly.
“Yes,” he said softly, squeezing her hand, still tucked snugly in his. “I suppose she does."
