“In private life, Buster sometimes displayed a troubling passivity, but his movies repeatedly trace a development from passivity and disengagement to action and passionate involvement. The hero of Battling Butler starts out as a spoiled rich boy, so cushioned by wealth he is practically comatose. By the end, he has learned to stand up for himself and beaten the lightweight world champion. At the time he made this film, Buster was putting up with a lot in his unhappy marriage and home life. He must have enjoyed playing a man who effectively fights back.

The unusual fight in Battling Butler culminates in a more characteristic moment when Buster’s gentle, sweet-natured character snaps out of his frenzy and realizes that he has pounded his opponent unconscious. Instead of being proud, he is shocked at himself, putting his boxing-gloved hand over his mouth, his eyes widening with embarrassed horror at his own violence. He rarely dishes out the kind of punishment he takes”

Another Movie Classic that I haven't seen in years.
Growing up; the Rocky series was a big thing in my family.
The second movie is definitely one of the stronger movies out of the entire franchise.

My brother-in-law has a Thing where he gives me increasingly rare copies of The Bee Movie and it’s long since gone from “Goofy running gag” to “I don’t know how much money he’s willing to commit to this bit and it Scares Me.”
