Grooming Master List 💅🧖♀️
Long post ahead 🙌
Hair Care💇♀️
Find out your hair needs from a professional. Get your hair done and ASK QUESTIONS. Some questions are, “what my hairs porosity?” “Is my hair fine, medium, or coarse in texture?” “Does my hair lack protein?” Learn about your hair and then buy the appropriate products.
Leave in and then oil your ends. Leave in conditioner is so important. Your hair loses moisture through out the day and a leave in helps prevent that. Sealing the ends with oil prevents the newly added moisture from evaporating. This will help a lot with hair length retention. So basically your hair not breaking at the end or turning to dust (this literally happens.)
Heat-less curls! See below. These curlers are AMAZING! They give you a blow out look without the heat. I always use them now every time I shower. Basically you use them when your hair is damp, sleep on it, and take out in the morning.
Speaking of sleeping, silk bonnets. Covering your hair with a bonnet is so important even if you don’t have curls like I do. It reduces frizz and friction and keeps your hair from breaking and becoming dry. Hot girls never sleep without one!
Hair masks - once a week
Hair oiling. Use an oil that works with your hair type (fine, medium, coarse.) apply to scalp before you shower and wait 30 mins or longer if your hair can handle it. Make sure to massage 💆♀️
Clarify your scalp when needed
Hair powder. Buy or make a hair powder to use as a dry shampoo. They absorb oil and add thickness to the hair shaft. Win, win! Etsy is the place to shop.
You cannot train your hair. That’s not how the body works, sorry. If you need to wash your hair, wash it.
Skin Care🧴
See a dermatologist! If you are struggling with consistent acne or the aftermath or scars and inflammation. See a Dermatologist
Figure out what kind of acne scars you have. There’s P.I.E (Post inflammatory erythema) which is the red mark left over, P.I.H (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) the brown spots left over, atrophic scars, boxcar scars, ice pick scars, or hypertrophic scars. Each scars nerds something different. I get P.I.E which likes retinol, niacinamide, and dermabrasion.
Wear Sunscreen EVERYDAY. I don’t care if it’s raining or you aren’t going anywhere, windows exist. Anything over 50 SPF doesn’t get stronger BUT it does last longer. You can also use your sunscreen as a moisturizer if you are not super dry.
Anti-aging. You should only be using anti-aging at 25 years old and up. 25 is when you start to age so doing it before is detrimental to skin health.
Double cleanse EVERYDAY even if you wore no makeup. Your sunscreen should be waterproof so it needs an oil to break it down. So wash your face with an oil cleanser than a water based cleanser.
Hand/Nail Care 🤚
Buy a good hand moisturizer not those fragrance ones. Cerave and la roche posay have good ones. Apply at night and then apply a cuticle oil then wear a moisturizer glove. They have ones with tech fingertips so you can still use your phone before bed.
Gel nails at home. Get the equipment to do your gels at home. It’s not expensive anymore and it’s super easy. You will have to watch a tutorial because it’s a very different process than regular nail polish. You NEED a base coat and top coat for it to work btw. Also please scrape your nails before applying. There’s an invisible layer of skin on your nails I promise you. I’ll talk more about this in foot care. I recommend doing nude colors because they look better as they grow out.
UV gloves. If you are doing Gel nails you need UV blocking gloves. They have kinds that leave the finger tips out so you can do your nails. You really don’t want to be blasting your hands with UV. It’s like a tanning bed for your hands. I also suggest driving UV blocking gloves. They have grippies for driving. When you drive your hands are blasted with the sun. The back of your hand are super delicate and prone to sun damage and aging. There’s also hand sunscreen which I recommend.
Foot care 👠
You NEED a pedicure kit. I recommend this
Watch the meticulous manicurist on YouTube she is a wealth of knowledge!
You want to get ride of the junk in your side walls and on top of your nail!
Use a glass foot file to get rid of dry skin and calluses. Speaking of calluses there are things you can buy that reduce them if you get them in the same spot every time. I get one under my big toes so there’s silicone cushions that wrap around my big toe and help with the extra pressure I’m putting on them. They have heel ones too!
Kerasol foot cream is the best foot cream it’s what dems suggest. You can buy moisturizer socks and put them in after applying and sleep on it or wrap your feet in Saran Wrap then a sock if you can’t spend the money.
Hair removal 🪒
Eye brows - it’s super cheap to just get them professionally threaded honestly. A professional can do a better job than you. Simply set a recurring day on your calendar. Go once or twice a month depending on your brows.
Do not shave your face at home! It’s a form of dermabrasion and if everything isn’t 100% sterile than you can get infected and lots of acne.
Kitty 🐱 I honestly prefer an electric shaver and using the razor only for the bikini line. Less irritation and it still looks neat.
Armpits - waxing or laser is the best but regular shaving is fine.
Legs - you can use hair conditioner as shaving cream!
Other tips on how to look good daily, wear jewelry everyday that fits your skin tone, learn your colors (summer, winters, fall, spring, and more. I’m a soft summer.) Learn your Kibbe type. I am a soft dramatic!
And of course eat healthy and exercise! 🏋️♀️🏃♀️

Writober Day 13: Chains, Prosthetic
((Jacky is from Faded Scars and used with permission))
“Hang on!”
Jacky and Rails barely managed to grab onto handholds before the train quickly slowed, nearly sending them careening into the walls. The cargo shifted around them towards the front of the boxcar, but thankfully the deceleration was just gradual enough to not strain the ropes securing them past their breaking point. Rails was immediately to the side door, leaning out to get a look towards the locomotive. He quickly glanced back towards the other end, then did a double-take.
“What is it?” Jacky asked.
“Someone put up a lantern to stop,” he replied. “Not even a warning to slow down, just a stopping signal.” He stepped back to look at Jacky. “There must be something bad up ahead, I hope this train can st–”
A loud, metallic CRACK from the locomotive cut him off. Immediately Rails had his head out the door, looking up ahead. Jacky ran to the door as well, holding onto her hat as she peered out. A long, heavy chain was dragging along the ground next to the railroad, its front caught on the front of the locomotive. She spotted a deep dent in the side of the tender, evidence of the force the chain had whipped into the side of the car with.
“Zoggin’ hell!” Rails swore. “If Alex hadn’t spotted that signal and applied the brakes roight away, that would’ve ripped the engine clean in ‘alf!”
“Bandits?” Jacky said, her revolver already in hand.
“Zogged in da ‘ead if dey are!” Rails growled, getting agitated. “Damn near caused a derailin’ is wot dey did!”
“After our hides, then,” she replied grimly. “Think it’s the Lowry Ga–?”
The train made a sharp turn to the right, nearly sending them tumbling across the car. The car leaned terrifyingly to the left, but remained on all of its wheels. The squealing of the brakes became a high-pitched screech as the train bled even more speed.
Another crack of metal on metal, though this time it wasn’t so loud or sharp. Whatever Alex was doing up in the front, he was making the right call.
Finally, the train slowed to a stop, a soft yet heavy thud reverberating throughout the cars. Jacky was immediately on her feet and at the side doors, carefully looking about outside. A glance up towards the front of the train revealed a pile of logs gently nudged askew. Looks like they came to a halt just in time.
Movement from the surrounding trees and brush quickly caught her attention. She swiftly brought up her revolver, only to stop halfway when she saw over a dozen heavily-armed men and women emerge with their weapons already trained on her and the crew. Whoever they were, they were ready for them.
“Boa tarde, friends!” a golden frog in a well-tailored suit called out cheerfully as she emerged from the woods. “Come on out, no need to be afraid! We’re just here to–”
Jacky and the frog caught sight of each other. Jacky’s heart sank as the frog’s smile grew, the black markings around her lips giving her the appearance of a golden skull with a rictus grin.
“Jacky! I heard that you might be running with this crew, but I scarcely didn’t believe it! Come down, I haven’t seen you in so long!”
Rails glanced at Jacky in bemusement. She looked away, hiding her eyes beneath the brim of her hat. After the frog called out to her again, she sighed, holstered her revolver, and tightened her neckerchief before hopping out of the car. She walked out to the frog, feeling the stares of the crew on her back.
“Jacky, minha amiga! How good it is to see you again, and in good health, too!” the frog said, placing her hands on her shoulders, one in a heavy black leather glove, the other made of wood and steel.
“Hi, Iara,” Jacky said without enthusiasm.
“Oh, come now!” Iara beamed. “Why so glum? It’s been ages!”
“Yeah, feels that way.”
“Never thought I’d see you pulling train guard duty, friend! Taking it slow for a bit?” Iara tilted her head to the side, glancing at Jacky under the brim of her hat with her inky black eyes. “Or perhaps…” she said more quietly, “...scraping the pesos together wherever you can find them? I’m more than happy to help with that, friend. You know that.”
“What do you want?” Jacky growled through gritted teeth, but it sounded weak and frightened to her ears.
For a brief, terrifying moment, Iara looked hurt, but then she shrugged. “Just picking up the cargo for Uncle, that’s all. He was starting to get worried.”
Jacky felt her blood turn to ice. “W-we still have a couple of days.” She inclined her head to the pile of logs. “Was all that necessary?”
Iara waved a dismissive hand. “Oh, you know. The town council is sending their enforcers again to make sure all duties on imported goods are paid. Terribly annoying, really. Making the handoff here will save everyone time and money. We’re doing you a favor, to be honest.” Jacky’s heart stopped for a second.
Iara gestured to some of her crew, who immediately holstered their weapons and started pulling the barrels out of the boxcar. Nobody moved to stop them. Not even Rails, who kept looking at Jacky in puzzlement.
“Now,” Iara said as she walked up to one of the barrels, jovially pulling Jacky along with her metal hand on her shoulder, “let’s check on the gooOOO! I can smell them right through the wood! How could you stand being in the same car with them? That’ll cling to you for a fortnight, I’ll bet!” She gave Jacky a long-suffering smile. “Honestly, I don’t know why Uncle likes them, ah, ‘aged’ like this. Must be an acquired taste. Me, I prefer them still live and wrigglin'!” She laughed, clapping Jacky’s shoulder heavily. “Hey, if you ever find yourself on a train carrying fresh eels back Restward, look me up! I’ll make it well worth your while!”
“Yeah, I’ll…keep that in mind.”
“Speaking of which!” She gestured to one of her men, who reached into a pack and pulled out a large, bound stack of banknotes. Iara took them and pressed them into Jacky’s hands. “There we are, the payment per the job posting. I trust you’ll find everything satisfactory.”
“Exceptionally,” Jacky replied and moved to pull away. “We’ll see about getting out of your way.”
The metal hand gripped Jacky’s shoulder, freezing her in place. “Oh, one more thing,” Iara said. She pulled an envelope out of her jacket pocket with her gloved hand and handed it to her, a crisp, one hundred peso bill on top of it. Jacky’s breath caught in her throat. She knew what this letter was and why it was being given to her.
“Uncle would like you to deliver this to Quick Springs. A matter of utmost importance, he says. If you can do so by tomorrow, he will be most appreciative.” She glanced over at the train. “I’m sure you all will get this done in no time at all.” Iara clapped Jacky on the shoulder and turned to walk away with her men. “Oh, and if you ever change your mind, you always have a place waiting for you here. You don’t have to make yourself suffer.”
She left Jacky standing there, burning with shame and holding further disgrace in her hands.

um. Finally getting the courage to share this hbga concept i had in the blog... Oh i am so nervous
So, first things first.
I imagined this whole concept about carapacians' carapaces cracking and how its a sign of battles won and everything, basically just a sign of bravery or how hardboiled someone is (but the only downside is that it leaves someones carapaces really fragile)
But also, sometimes those carapaces cracking is used to represent love between two partners but thats only hardly seen and also incredibly kinda not acceptable in their society.
What im trying to imply is: Boxcars bites some of GA's carapaces (especially around her neck and shoulders) till they crack, it makes her flinch a bit but she dosen't mind it at all, after all its a demonstration of love (even if its a bit rough at times). Who's usually shocked about all of this is EJ herself but rather because shes worried about GA's body getting too sensitive to fight back against weirdoes and that kind of thing.
ill. Probably delete this later? but also this is the explanation to human GA's body scars. its the same thing.
#✧ post#✱ ocs#♡ paper mache / heartcuts / hbga#im. really really anxious of posting this#if theres something i need to tag for this tell me#i was keeping this for a while btw#ill add the GA tag when im home#good lord im so scared#oc x canon textpost#delete later i think

@warhaeds : ❛ All my heart is yours, it belongs to you. And with you it would remain, were fate to exile the rest of me from your presence forever. ❜ ( jane eyre. not accepting. )
to be exposed is a terrifying thing, but there she was; back to the floor, chest exposed, scars and all. and still, he did not shy away from her. still, he did not tell her to run. her arms are above her head, here, framed like the portrait she was always expected to be, but brandon washington does not hesitate to reach out and touch her despite the infrared alarms and armed guard that protect her heart. it is easy to give him this, to keep his bed warm and to whisper his name in the throes of the low light. that was what she was supposed to do. she is not his wife, but she could be.
they have come to say strange things in their lovemaking, whispers only shared in the isolation of the furs and the boxcars. he has teased her that her moans will echo, and she has told him that she will need to clean these furs. but here, in their privacy, when the glass of the boxcar fogs up with their ecstacy and eroticism, when the lady becomes a woman, when the predator becomes prey...
he is deep inside her, their bodies one, when he says this strange thing. she is blood red down to her chest, if not by the blush, then by the string of hickies and bites he has left her: a consensual sign of ownership, not like the silver pin or scarlet letter zachariah belmont put on her breast. he holds her hips, staying here for a moment, denying her the next thrust. her grey-gold eyes look up at him, here, in the high light, and surely this must have been what the great painters of the renaissance saw when they painted god, jesus, adam. he looks to her an angel, her victor, her savior.
" do not make me lose anyone else, " she whispers in response, chest rising and falling. please, her body whispers, do not leave me to raise the children your legacy left behind. be here with me, here and now, in the moment, in the future. " if your heart is mine, then my heart is yours, and on your death might it break. treat me like glass, my dear; do not watch me shatter so. you have taught me how to temper myself with your fire; do not, please, my love, do not watch me shatter so. Can PRP Therapy Really Reduce Acne Scars?
Acne scars can be persistent, affecting both self-confidence and skin health. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy has emerged as a promising treatment for acne scars, capitalizing on the body’s natural healing properties to rejuvenate damaged skin. But does PRP therapy really work for reducing acne scars? Let’s explore the science behind PRP, its effectiveness for acne scars, and what to expect from the treatment.
What Is PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to isolate the plasma enriched with platelets, and injecting this concentrate back into targeted areas of the skin. Platelets are known for their growth factors and healing properties, which stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration. For acne scars, PRP can help break down scar tissue, promote new skin growth, and smooth the skin’s texture.
How PRP Works for Acne Scars
When PRP is injected into areas with acne scars, the growth factors and proteins in the platelets promote the repair and remodeling of skin tissue. Here’s how PRP addresses acne scars at a cellular level:
Boosts Collagen Production: Collagen is essential for skin structure and elasticity. PRP stimulates the body’s collagen production, which fills in acne scars and smooths uneven skin.
Promotes Cell Renewal: The growth factors in PRP encourage skin cell turnover, aiding in the regeneration of new, healthy skin cells to replace damaged ones.
Reduces Inflammation: PRP has anti-inflammatory properties, which help calm the skin and reduce any redness or swelling associated with scars.
By supporting collagen production and cell renewal, PRP can gradually soften the appearance of scars and improve skin tone and texture.
Types of Acne Scars That Respond Well to PRP
PRP is particularly effective for certain types of acne scars, especially those that benefit from collagen stimulation. Here are the most common scar types that PRP can help with:
Atrophic Scars: These are shallow, sunken scars, often caused by a loss of collagen. PRP can fill in these scars, making them less visible.
Boxcar Scars: Defined by sharp edges, boxcar scars can benefit from the tissue regeneration properties of PRP, which help smooth their appearance.
Rolling Scars: These scars have a wave-like texture, and PRP’s collagen-stimulating effects can improve skin elasticity, making the scars less noticeable over time.
However, for deep and severe scars like ice-pick scars, PRP might need to be combined with other treatments, such as microneedling or laser therapy, for the best results.
Combining PRP with Other Treatments for Acne Scars
While PRP on its own can be effective, it’s often used in combination with other treatments to enhance results. Here are some of the most common pairings:
PRP + Microneedling: One of the most popular combinations, microneedling creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin, which PRP then enhances by accelerating the healing process. Together, they stimulate collagen production, leading to smoother, firmer skin.
PRP + Laser Therapy: Lasers target pigmentation and resurface the skin, while PRP promotes collagen production and speeds up recovery. This combination can be particularly effective for pigmented acne scars.
PRP + Chemical Peels: Chemical peels exfoliate the top layer of skin, removing dead cells and promoting new growth. PRP applied afterward accelerates healing, enhancing the skin-smoothing effects.
Using PRP alongside these treatments maximizes its benefits, giving patients improved results in fewer sessions.
How Many PRP Sessions Are Needed for Acne Scars?
The number of sessions required for optimal results depends on the severity of the scars, skin type, and individual response to treatment. Typically, dermatologists recommend 3-6 sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. Some people notice improvement after one or two sessions, but for more pronounced or stubborn scars, multiple treatments are often necessary.
Results: What to Expect from PRP for Acne Scars
Results from PRP therapy take time, as the treatment stimulates the body’s natural processes. Here’s what to expect at different stages:
Immediately After Treatment: You may experience some redness, swelling, or minor bruising, which typically subsides within a day or two.
2-4 Weeks After Treatment: The initial improvements in skin texture and tone may start to appear, but it’s often subtle at first. Collagen production will gradually increase over the following weeks.
3-6 Months Post-Treatment: As collagen continues to build, you’ll notice more significant improvements in scar appearance, texture, and overall skin quality. This process can take up to 6 months to fully reveal.
PRP results are long-lasting, especially if you maintain a good skincare routine and follow any aftercare instructions provided by your dermatologist. However, follow-up treatments may be necessary every 6-12 months to sustain results, particularly for deep scars.
Benefits of PRP for Acne Scars
PRP therapy offers several advantages for individuals seeking to reduce acne scars:
Natural Healing: Since PRP uses your body’s own blood, there’s minimal risk of allergic reactions or side effects.
Minimal Downtime: Compared to other scar treatments, PRP has a shorter recovery period, allowing you to resume normal activities within a day or two.
Gradual, Natural-Looking Results: Unlike fillers or more invasive treatments, PRP provides subtle, natural improvements over time.
Long-Lasting Effects: PRP stimulates collagen production, which can provide enduring benefits and prevent new scars from forming.
Are There Any Side Effects or Risks?
PRP is generally considered safe, but minor side effects may include redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These effects are typically mild and resolve within a day or two. Since PRP uses your own blood, the risk of adverse reactions is low.
However, it’s essential to consult with a qualified professional to ensure PRP is appropriate for your skin type and acne scar profile. Those with certain health conditions, such as blood disorders or active skin infections, may not be good candidates for PRP.
Is PRP Therapy Right for You?
If you’re seeking a non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of acne scars, PRP therapy could be a suitable option. It offers gradual improvements and can be part of a comprehensive acne scar treatment plan, especially when combined with other methods like microneedling or laser therapy.
PRP therapy works best for those with mild to moderate acne scarring who are willing to commit to multiple sessions for optimal results. Consulting with a qualified dermatologist or aesthetician can help determine the best course of action based on your skin type and goals.
In Summary
PRP therapy is a promising, natural option for reducing acne scars and improving skin texture. By leveraging the body’s natural healing capabilities, PRP promotes collagen production and skin regeneration, resulting in smoother, healthier-looking skin over time. While it may require multiple sessions and consistent aftercare, PRP’s low-risk, high-reward profile makes it a popular choice for those looking to diminish acne scars and restore confidence in their skin.

Scar Removal Treatment in Singapore: Your Guide to Clearer Skin
Finding the right scar removal treatment Singapore is essential for those looking to improve their skin’s texture and appearance. Singapore offers various advanced options for both general and acne scar removal. These treatments, ranging from laser therapy and microneedling to chemical peels, are effective for different types of scars, including acne scars, surgical scars, and trauma-induced marks.
Types of Scar Removal Treatments
Laser Therapy Laser treatments are highly precise and widely used for scar removal in Singapore, especially for acne scar removal. They work by using laser energy to resurface the skin, making scars less visible over multiple sessions. This method is popular for its effectiveness on different scar types.
Microneedling Microneedling is ideal for those with shallow scars, particularly acne scars. This technique triggers collagen production by creating tiny punctures in the skin, which aids in naturally filling scars. Many seeking acne scar removal in Singapore opt for microneedling due to its minimal invasiveness.
Chemical Peels Chemical peels in Singapore are popular for those with superficial scars and hyperpigmentation. Using a chemical solution, this treatment removes the damaged outer layer of skin, effectively smoothing out shallow scars. Many clinics recommend chemical peels as a part of an acne scar removal treatment plan.
Fillers For deeper acne scars, particularly ice-pick and boxcar scars, fillers provide temporary results by lifting scarred areas. In Singapore, fillers are frequently used for quick acne scar removal results, though they require periodic maintenance.
Finding the Right Acne Scar Removal in Singapore
Choosing the right clinic for scar removal treatment in Singapore is crucial for safety and results. Certified clinics will tailor treatments to your skin needs, helping achieve smoother skin with reduced scar visibility. With an array of specialized options, Singapore remains a top destination for effective scar and acne scar removal solutions.

Revitalize Your Skin with Acne Scar Removal in Singapore
Acne scars can be a stubborn reminder of past breakouts, leaving many seeking effective solutions to restore their skin’s natural glow. With advancements in skincare treatments, Singapore has emerged as a hub for cutting-edge acne scar removal procedures. Whether you're dealing with deep pitted scars or hyperpigmentation, LS Aesthetic Clinic can help you get the right Acne Scar Treatment in Singapore.
What is Acne Scar Removal Singapore?
Acne scar removal refers to a variety of treatments designed to reduce or eliminate the appearance of scars left behind by acne. Acne scars can range from deep indentations (atrophic scars) to raised, thickened areas (hypertrophic scars), as well as dark spots known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The goal of acne scar removal is to smooth the skin’s texture, improve its appearance, and promote even skin tone.
Popular treatments include laser resurfacing, microneedling, chemical peels, subcision, and dermal fillers. These procedures stimulate collagen production and skin regeneration to heal the damaged tissue. The choice of treatment depends on the type of acne scars and skin type.
Who Needs Acne Scar Removal?
Acne scar removal is ideal for individuals who have developed noticeable scars from past acne breakouts that affect their skin's texture and appearance. This includes those with atrophic scars, such as ice pick, boxcar, or rolling scars, which create depressions in the skin. People with hypertrophic scars, where excess tissue creates raised, thickened areas, may also seek treatment. Additionally, individuals suffering from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which leaves dark spots after acne clears, can benefit from treatments that even out skin tone.
Acne scar removal is suitable for those who feel self-conscious about their scars and wish to improve their skin's smoothness and overall complexion. Whether the scarring is mild or severe, professional treatments can help minimize the visibility of scars and restore confidence in one's appearance.
How Does Acne Scar Removal Work?
Acne scar removal works by using various dermatological treatments to reduce the appearance of scars and improve the skin’s texture and tone. Each method targets the scarred areas differently, depending on the type of scars and the patient’s skin type. Here are some of the most effective techniques:
1. Laser Resurfacing: Laser treatments, such as CO2 or fractional lasers, work by removing the outer layers of damaged skin and stimulating collagen production in the deeper layers. The new collagen fills in the depressions caused by acne scars, leading to smoother, rejuvenated skin. Lasers are also effective in reducing hyperpigmentation.
2. Microneedling: This technique involves using fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing process. As the skin repairs itself, new collagen and elastin are produced, which helps improve the appearance of acne scars.
3. Chemical Peels: Chemical solutions, such as glycolic or salicylic acid, are applied to exfoliate the top layer of skin, promoting the growth of new, smoother skin. This is particularly useful for treating superficial scars and hyperpigmentation.
4. Subcision: For deeper, tethered scars, subcision breaks the fibrous bands pulling the skin down, allowing the scarred area to lift and smooth out.
5. Fillers: Dermal fillers can be injected into depressed scars to temporarily plump up the skin and create a smoother surface.
How Long it Takes to Recover From Acne Scar Removal?
Recovery time from acne scar removal varies depending on the treatment method used. Laser resurfacing typically requires 5 to 7 days for initial healing, with redness and sensitivity lasting for up to two weeks. Microneedling has a shorter downtime of 2 to 3 days, with mild redness and swelling. Chemical peels can also vary, with light peels requiring 2 to 5 days to recover, while deeper peels may take 7 to 10 days.
For more acne treatment in singapore clinic options like subcision, there may be bruising or swelling that lasts for up to a week. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, usually involve minimal recovery time, with any swelling or bruising resolving within a few days. Following post-treatment care instructions and avoiding sun exposure are essential for proper healing.

Writober Day 7: Pig, Stranger
((Jacky is from Faded Scars and used with permission))
Jacky’s ear twitched as it caught a sound that seemed out of place in the quiet desert night. Both of them swiveled forward, scanning the gloom as she tried to catch a glimpse of whatever might be out there. She held up a hand to Resa, who immediately stopped mid-sentence, picking up on the sudden tension.
There. Quiet, muffle grunts. Not from a bandit traversing the terrain, a sniffling kind, like something was trying to sniff something out and failing to keep it completely silent.
Heavy footfalls, more than one pair. A crackling of tightening flesh. More sniffling grunts, seemingly from multiple directions.
And then the long, sharp, unmistakable sound of metal scraping against metal that accompanies the anticipation of violence.
“Get the kids into the train, then tell Matt to start stoking the engine,” Jacky said quietly to Resa while keeping her eyes focused on the darkness. She slapped the bear’s arm. “Go, now.”
That snapped Resa out of her growing dread and she immediately got up and hurried towards her children. Sister Clarie, apparently having heard what Jacky did, was already on her feet and ushering the still sleepy and confused cubs into the boxcar. Jacky slowly rose into a crouch, her rifle shouldered and aimed into the night. The shuffling and grunting was drawing close.
She saw their eyes first. Tiny pinpricks of baleful white reflecting the campfire. One, two, three, several pairs appeared in the gloom, low to the ground. Jacky felt a chill creep down her spine. Two more pairs blinked open, much higher than the rest. Another long scraping sound, and a spark briefly illuminated thick flesh and blackened, jagged metal.
Jacky slowly backed away towards the boxcar. Behind her she could hear Hallie’s confused, frightened crying and her older sister trying to comfort her. Resa rushed past the tender to the locomotive, trying to stay quiet but fear undermining the effort. Hopefully Matt was already aware, Jacky had a feeling this was going to get ugly very quickly.
Figures emerged from the night, illuminated by the hellish glow of the campfire. Pigs. Over a dozen pigs approached them, but most of them were crawling naked on all fours, seemingly reverted to some primal state before civilized creatures were touched by sapience. And they were surrounded by a profound wrongness. There was a hungry look in their eyes, moving in a cunning, predatory manner. And the hideous deformities of their warped flesh, disgusting tumorous corpulence wrapped around a warped frame like poorly made and ill-fitting leather clothes around a madman’s idea of a skeleton and muscle.
Two of them stood on their hind legs, though that was the only thing that seemed normal about them. One of them had mismatched arms, one massive like a meaty tree trunk, the other practically withered into a thin twig of flesh and bone. The other individual was covered in festering sores, which clearly caused it pain, but moved with grim purpose, causing them to yawn and tear open further. Both of them carried wicked rusted blades, snapped and broken, their original purpose beyond recognition but still capable of cleaving bone and ripping flesh. The second one scraped its weapons together in slow, eager anticipation.
Jacky knew there was no reasoning with these monsters. This could only end one way.
“Matt! Get the fire going and get us out of here!” she shouted and fired.

Atrophic Scars – These are depressed scars, including icepick, boxcar, and rolling scars, resulting from a loss of tissue.
Hypertrophic & Keloid Scars – Raised scars caused by excess collagen production during the healing process.

Rejuvenate Your Skin with Acne Scar Treatment in Dubai
Acne scars can be a lasting reminder of the struggles you’ve had with your skin. These scars can affect your confidence, making you feel self-conscious about your appearance. Fortunately, with advancements in skincare technology, you no longer need to live with acne scars. Acne scar treatment in Dubai offers you a chance to rejuvenate your skin and regain a smooth, clear complexion.
Understanding Acne Scars
Acne scars are the result of inflamed blemishes caused by skin pores filled with excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. When a pore swells, it causes a break in the follicle wall. Some acne lesions are small and create shallow scars that heal quickly. However, when there’s a deep break in the wall of the pore, the infected material spills out into the surrounding tissue, creating deeper scars.
While acne itself may fade, scars can remain, varying from raised, bumpy scars to depressed or pitted scars. If left untreated, these scars can become more visible and permanent, which is why opting for professional acne scar treatment can significantly improve your skin’s texture and appearance.
Types of Acne Scar Treatments
When it comes to addressing acne scars, there are several advanced treatment options available. Depending on the severity and type of scars, you can choose from different techniques that suit your skin condition and goals.
1. Laser Treatments
Laser treatments are a popular option for treating acne scars. The procedure works by targeting the damaged layers of skin, stimulating new collagen production, and promoting skin regeneration. The laser technology allows precise targeting of scarred tissue, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Over time, the treated skin becomes smoother, and scars fade.
One of the advantages of laser treatments is that they can address a range of acne scar types, including rolling scars, boxcar scars, and ice-pick scars. Additionally, it’s a relatively quick and non-invasive procedure, with minimal downtime.
2. Microneedling
Microneedling is another effective method for acne scar treatment. It involves using tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulate the body’s natural healing process. As your skin repairs itself, it produces more collagen and elastin, essential proteins that help improve the texture of your skin.
This treatment is especially helpful for people with depressed acne scars, as it helps plump up the skin and smooth out the surface.
3. Chemical Peels
Chemical peels use specially formulated acids to exfoliate the top layers of your skin, removing dead skin cells and encouraging new skin cell growth. This treatment is effective in reducing mild acne scars, evening out skin tone, and improving skin texture.
After a chemical peel, you may experience some redness or peeling as your skin heals. However, with proper post-treatment care, the results can be highly beneficial for smoothing out shallow acne scars and rejuvenating your overall complexion.
4. Dermal Fillers
For more severe acne scars, dermal fillers can be a suitable solution. Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to plump up and smooth out depressed scars. This treatment is particularly effective for deep scars that create indentations in the skin.
Although the results from dermal fillers are immediate, they are not permanent and may require maintenance treatments. However, this option can provide you with a significant boost in skin smoothness and confidence.

What to Expect During Treatment
Before you start any acne scar treatment, it’s essential to consult a dermatologist. During the consultation, the doctor will assess your skin, evaluate the type and severity of your acne scars, and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for you. This personalized approach ensures that you receive the best possible results.
Once the treatment plan is set, you can expect a series of sessions, depending on the type of treatment you choose. For example, laser treatments and microneedling may require multiple sessions for optimal results, while chemical peels may be done over a shorter period.
Most treatments have minimal downtime, allowing you to resume your daily activities soon after. However, it’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your dermatologist to ensure proper healing and avoid any complications.
Post-Treatment Care
After completing your acne scar treatment, it’s crucial to maintain a proper skincare routine to enhance the results and prevent future breakouts. Your dermatologist will likely recommend a specific skincare regimen, including gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen to protect your skin from sun damage.
Additionally, you should avoid picking at your skin, as this can lead to further scarring and prolong the healing process. With consistent care and protection, you can enjoy long-lasting improvements in your skin’s appearance.

Glowing Beyond Acne: Revealing The Power Of IPL For Acne Scars
As a dermatologist, I frequently encounter patients seeking effective solutions for their acne scars. Among the various treatments available, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy often raises questions. The attraction of achieving smoother, scar-free skin using a non-invasive procedure like IPL is understandable, but it's essential to separate fact from fiction.
Understanding Acne Scars: A Complex Challenge
Before we explore the role of IPL, let's briefly discuss acne scars. Acne scars are the lasting reminders of past breakouts, and they result from the body's natural healing process. When the skin's collagen production is disrupted during the healing of acne lesions, scars can form. These scars can be categorized as ice pick, boxcar, rolling, or hypertrophic, each with its unique characteristics.
The promise of IPL: How does it work?
Intense Pulsed Light, commonly known as IPL, is a light-based therapy that targets various skin concerns, including pigmentation irregularities, redness, and even fine lines. IPL devices emit broad-spectrum light that targets specific pigments or structures in the skin, causing them to heat up and eventually be absorbed or eliminated by the body.
The potential benefit of IPL for acne scars lies in its ability to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture. The idea is that the heat generated during the treatment triggers a wound-healing response, prompting the body to create new collagen fibers that can help smooth the appearance of scars.
What IPL can and cannot do for acne scars
While the IPL holds promise, it's crucial to manage expectations. Here's a realistic outlook on what IPL can and cannot achieve for acne scars:
What IPL can do:
Improvement in texture: IPL can contribute to a more even skin texture by promoting collagen production. This may result in softer and smoother skin over time.
Reduction in redness: For acne scars that are red or pigmented, IPL can help by targeting the excess pigment and reducing redness, making the scars less noticeable.
Enhancement of overall skin appearance: Beyond scars, IPL can address other skin concerns, such as sun damage and discoloration, leading to an improved overall complexion.
What IPL cannot do:
Eliminate deep scars: Deep and pitted scars, such as ice pick scars, may not be significantly improved by IPL alone. These types of scars require more aggressive treatments like fractional laser or microneedling.
Instant and complete removal: Patience is key with IPL. Results are gradual and often require multiple sessions for optimal improvement. Additionally, some scars may never completely disappear, but their appearance can be softened.
Suitable for all skin types: IPL works best on lighter skin tones with minimal sun exposure. Darker skin types may be at a higher risk of side effects, such as hyperpigmentation.
Customizing treatment for optimal results
The effectiveness of IPL for acne scars varies from person to person. To achieve the best possible outcomes, it's essential to consult with a qualified dermatologist who can assess your skin type, scar type, and overall skin condition. A personalized treatment plan that may combine IPL with other modalities can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
The importance of post-treatment care
After undergoing IPL for acne scars, diligent post-treatment care is crucial. Protect your skin from sun exposure and wear sunscreen regularly to prevent further pigmentation issues. Follow your dermatologist's guidelines on skincare products and routines to support the healing process and maintain the results.
