[BotW: Family and Legacy] - Passing on the Gremlin Wisdom from one gremlin generation to the next.
Link and his sister got their Gremlin nature from Grandpa Eishun. The OG Gremlin of the family. Their dad and Grandma do not approve on some of the Gremlin advices.
Also Link is 10 and his sister, 7 years old here. They sometimes visit their grandparents in Kakariko Village with their Dad. They have their own Sheikah outfits ready by said grandparents.

I think it'd be funny if Link thought that Revali was actually Pretty Cool, like yeah he's rude sometimes and tends to brag but he does have the skills to back it up. Problem is Link cannot express that for the life of them
So you've got instances where Link is like "Revali really nailed it in training today I should let him know I think he did a good job" and they make eye contact and Link gives a thumbs up with the most blank expression on their face and Revali's kind of offended because Link could not have looked less interested in this if they tried only he doesn't say it out loud so Link's thinking "I nailed it" (they are autistic)
#link#revali#botw#I think my Link used they/them exclusively precalamity and post calamity added she in there#also this isnt revalink#no shade to the shippers Im just not one of yall

Working on various Rewild outfits. This is my take on the Hylian Tunic, based on the Irish leine. I made a Champion's Tunic leine and ionar set, but I really didn't like it as much as this one aslkdfa;

wisdomcend asked:
"i think … i think i need a doctor ." sheik, very calmly, yknow, as one in shock does-- to link
Meme Tag -- @wisdomcend
Link blanches at the tone in the other's voice, noting that before anything else, hands automatically reaching out to steady the prince to keep him from falling to the ground. Goddess, he doesn't look good, nor does the blood seeping on the other's clothes provide any reassurance either.
A hiss escapes Link's teeth as he slips himself underneath the other's shoulder to offer better support, free arm reaching back into his pack to find a healing potion. At least he had the wherewithal to brew some for himself recently, but he knows that it won't be nearly enough to heal whatever happened to the prince, hopefully just enough to keep him stable.
Passing the small vial to the other, he rounds his hand slightly as if holding a cup, tipping the hand to his lips. << Drink. >>

what do you think his thoughts were at that moment?
this is an insane question and i am going rabid trying to answer it. for context this is about my. link dead on the fucking floor compilation. i. e. "what do you think went through link's mind as he all but DIED in precalamity botw."
i've thought about this before because. well obviously i have. look at how many times i've drawn it. i think context matters more than anything when examining that moment, because it's essentially the culmination of link's entire life up to that point in the worst way possible. you have a kid who has been raised to either win or die. those are his only two options. he's known this for basically as long as he can remember. either he defeats the calamity like he's supposed to and lives the rest of his life as an untouchable gold standard of soldier, as proof that all that pressure and pain he suffered worked, or he dies and dooms everyone he has ever loved to suffer horribly for the rest of their likely very short lives. And i do think he thought about this extensively, because how could you NOT, and i think that he probably believed that death was the most likely outcome. He was raised by a soldier, around soldiers, to be a soldier. soldiers are practical. soldiers strategize for the most likely scenario. they're not pessimistic, but they know how to look at a situation objectively and make a judgement call. Looking at link's situation objectively, it would have been obvious that he couldn't win. he was one kid, a 16-year-old boy, with maybe some above-average swordsmanship skills, but too many variables were missing. he couldn't hear the sword's voice. zelda's power wouldn't manifest. Hylia, who should have been there guiding them through this prophecy that SHE had supposedly inflicted on them, was completely silent. the divine beasts may have given him some hope, initially, but it was clear below the optimistic facade that hyrule was toying with very dangerous forces they didn't truly understand. I think he very likely went into that confrontation with the calamity anticipating death.
what's most interesting to me about the scene of link's death isn't that he fell, but WHERE he fell. because he didn't die in the sanctum, at the scene of the calamity's birth, as one might have expected. he died in an empty field along the road to a fortress that might have been able to protect him. Link, the bearer of the triforce of courage, the boy raised to die a martyr at the hands of the calamity, who had all but accepted his fate before the monster even showed its face, chose to run for safety, what some might call the coward's approach, instead of dying where he stood at ganon's hand. and it seems almost out of character at first, when you think about the person he was when he first met zelda, the person who would do anything in his power to show no weakness, to take the pain and the stress without flinching or faltering. the boy who so completely embodied that idea of "courage." but i think that zelda was the piece that changed him. If it had just been him at that final confrontation, maybe he wouldn't have run. maybe he would have been content to take his final stand and accept the death he'd been promised. but zelda insisted on being there, too. "there must be something i can do to help." and while link was a soldier, more than willing to engage in self-sacrifice, he was also a knight, sworn to protect this girl, and so he couldn't in good conscience sacrifice HER, too. so he ran. he tried to live, at a moment when he should have expected to die. and i think that was infinitely more courageous of him. to go against everything you have ever known and expected is infinitely scarier than accepting the outcome you've always anticipated. Running for his life (and for zelda's) was running into the unknown. escaping death in that way was defying everything he'd built himself up to be, everything everyone expected of him. Who is link if not the hero who faced the calamity with courage? what would he have to be if he could not be what was expected of him? in that moment, he made the choice to step into the unprophesized timeline, into a world where his actions were no longer defined by some great all-seeing power. and that was the most courageous move he could have made in that moment. he must have been terrified.
so what was going through his mind as he made his last stand? Honestly, i think the only thing on his mind was zelda. I don't think he cared about himself, his physical condition, any of it. I think he made the choice to run because of zelda and so he made the choice to take his final stand where he did because of her, too. just before zelda's power manifests, we see him try to continue fighting even inches from death, so gravely injured that he's unsteady on his feet, using his sword to keep himself standing. i think he must have known that he was in no condition to fight anymore, but he expected death to come for him at one point or another. what mattered was that she might live as long as he kept going. that's why he ran in the first place. not for himself, but because zelda was there and zelda didn't deserve to die like this. Even once zelda's power manifests, link only gives up and allows himself to fall once a beat or two has past--once he's sure that there really is no more danger. that she'll be okay, that she can make it past the fort and into relative safety even if he lets go here. He collapses then, and only then, after running miles through fields and woods, already gravely wounded, because in that moment he sees that the danger has past. a soldier's work is only done when there is nothing left to fight. a knight's work is only done when his princess is truly safe.
maybe he was relieved that he'd managed to hold on as long as he had. that he'd been able to find her some form of safety, in one way or another. maybe he worried about what manner of things would come for her once he was gone. maybe he wondered why she wouldn't just leave him and run for the fort. i'm sure there was a flash of regret in the back of his mind, for the family and friends he'd leave behind, for the people he'd let down, for the calamity he wasn't able to defeat. but this was the outcome he'd expected, even if it had come in a slightly different form. Even if now there was a girl hovering above him begging him to open his eyes.
#can you tell i never stop thinking about this specific moment? lol#i still think my loz dissertation line about this moment goes hard btw.#'There is a flash of golden light. He cannot raise his head to witness it. but it is warm. so warm. it feels like safety. like home.#He closes his eyes and breathes in. he is sure he is dying. This will be his last breath. At least it will be warm and soft and golden.'#like damn ok 2021 blue. you get it. go off#asks#zelda analysis

can you imagine being from one of the non Hylian/Sheikah races in botw precalamity, and like the Hylian royal family announces they've found their hero. Then the king, an absolute brick shithouse of a man presents to you the tiniest hylian you've ever met
#sorry i saw a picture of Link and Sidon next to each other and remembered how extra tiny Link looks compared to the other races#like no wonder no one recognizes Link#in a place where people can get that big why would you think the hero is an under 5 ft twink

10 First Lines Challenge
Rules: Share the first line of your last ten published works or as many as you are able to and see if there are any patterns!
I got tagged by a lot of ppl, thank you @summonerluna @sparklyhyperbole @linktheacehero and @wouldyoustilllovemeifiwasawyrm
The Missing Horseshoe (precalamity BOTW): "Some people, Zelda thought when the sound of hoofbeats reached her ears, would be thrilled by this reunion."
Beneath the Skin (post-TOTK): "Some days, Link couldn’t take his eyes off her."
Mirage (mid-canon OOT): "She was surrounded by flowers the first time Link saw her: pink tulips and yellow lilies, bright with color against the white walls of the courtyard."
Ghosts That We Knew (post-TP): "Link dreamed of a golden wolf."
Lost and Found (post-TP): "On the other side of the suspension bridge, Link took a deep breath of chilly air and released it in a long gust."
Like A River's Flow (post-OOT/MM): "As soon as he finished packing, Link shoved his belongings back under the bed and decided to stay."
Of Cats and Wolves (post-TP): "By the time the gifts stop coming, all Zelda can smell is nectar: so cloyingly sweet that she could choke on it."
Bit by Bit (precalamity BOTW): "'You have to talk to her,'" Link told the mirror.
The Fortress (mid-canon TP): "Death howls through the throne room."
Pumpkin Tarts (post-TP): "When it came to respect, the head cook at Hyrule Castle reigned second only to the queen."
Is there a theme...? I guess I try to use the first line to establish how the narrator is feeling. Also I wish my 2 most recent works didn't have such similar opening lines 🤣
I shall tag @kazraza @mailrebel @nocturnalfandomartist and @korokposting if anyone is interested in playing!!

Fuck it’s like midnight but I gotta say this:
I had an AU in my head (thanks to a certain ghost!Wild LoZ fic) this one is where once Hyrule is up and running again (ignoring/retrofitting Tears of the Kingdom) they get visits/visit other nations.
Sbi royal au being one of them, just just, Phil and the boys being royalty and meeting Link and Zelda. I don’t even need multiple chapters, just them meeting.
I’m thinking that Sbi’s kingdom’s main patron is Phil’s wife Death, so they get a pretty iffy reputation among the other kingdoms. Despite the family being a bunch of dorks their loyal citizens adore.
Philza is goofy and fatherly, Wilbur is charismatic and chaotic, Techno is awkward but really wise, and Tommy is energetic and friendly.
Their kingdom is more of an empire, but outside of trading and wars, none of the other kingdoms really know know the family.
Until Hyrule opened up again, and the family first hand got to see their dire need of help, decided to make an ally. Cue them practically adopting Link and Zelda as a part of their family while Neapolitan trio stay over at their kingdom to help out while Phil handles their home kingdom.
(I don’t really see Botw Link and Zelda as a couple, I know other people do, but I like seeing them as friends, or in this case siblings who have to deal with a whole ass ruined kingdom, do what you want Ig)
(Also also, I did ship preCalamity Link and Mipha, but afterwards, not really? Plus now I just have Linked Universe stuck in my head as what I think of Botw Link aka Wild, so there’s that)
(Fucking big bro!Twilight and lil bro!Wild has me in a chokehold, holy shit)
Idk, I like making crossovers that probably shouldn’t exist, but I force it into working.

[BotW Family and Legacy]: He found the Master Sword at the age of 12.
Alternately - POV: You are his father.
This is a redrawing for an old sketch I made a long time ago, including the draft story of how this Young Link found the Master Sword. It is one of the old drafts I wanna revisit and publish into a proper story.
(also its my birthday today - 26 March. just saying)

I love like, player behaviour being cannon in fics for botw because like, precalamity Zelda thinks link is like this untouchable self sacrificial holy noble knight and then you know she spends a hundred years trying to wake the fucker up only for him to act like an absolute frat bro and himbo “that technically works???” His way through every puzzle. like the dynamic… all respect for him lost one he beats calamity Ganon cause like, Zelda had to watch him stare for waaaaayyy too long at those divine beast maps trying to figure out what the fuck to do

Thanks so much! <3 I had a blast writing this! I hope you enjoy!
Fic under the cut
Beauty | Botw Precalamity | G-rated
“Oh, Link, look!”
Link drags his eyes from the endless stretch of road to follow Zelda’s gaze. Ahead of them looms Satori Mountain, its summit glowing a vibrant turquoise against the darkening sky. It’s a truly beautiful sight, one he can’t ever see himself tiring of. But then he happens to sneak a glance at Zelda, sitting beside him, regal and elegant atop her mount, a smile like a thousand suns on her face, and decides no natural wonder can ever compare to her.
“According to legend, when the mountain shines, a mystical beast reigns from atop it,” Zelda says, excitedly. “Of course, such tales are unproven and the worst way possible to keep accurate records, but…”
She looks down at her hands, and then back at him, thankfully not noticing the traitorous flush that's risen in his cheeks. “It certainly wouldn’t hurt to investigate.”
He shakes his head. “Not at all, Princess.”
She sends him a grin and his heart skips several beats.
“Well, then what are we waiting for?”
And she’s off at a gallop before he can respond.
Despite her head start he catches up rather quickly, and they ride side by side to the base of the mountain. He dismounts, quickly, and holds out a hand to Zelda.
“It’s easier if we walk,” he explains as she hops down.
Zelda’s eyes light up. “Oh, so you’ve been here before?”
He nods. A rough trail lies before them, and he begins walking along it.
“With your father, I’m guessing?” Zelda presses, coming up beside him.
“Yeah.” A small smile lifts his lips. “You know, we saw it one time, he and I.”
Her eyes widen. “The Lord of the Mountain.”
“Yep.”
They pass a large bunch of firs with crows flitting about their branches and continue upward.
“It was beautiful,” he adds after a moment or two. “A little intimidating, but beautiful.”
Zelda hums, thoughtfully. “Do you know a good vantage point then?”
He grins at that. “The best. But it takes a bit of climbing.”
Zelda waves him off. “I don’t mind at all. In fact, I quite like climbing.”
She is, Link realizes quickly, rather good at it too. Even with the unnatural chill biting at their extremities and turning the rocks bitterly cold, Zelda has no trouble keeping up with him as they work their way to the peak. They reach the top, and she stops short, breath hitching.
Below them, the Lord of the Mountain stands on a blanket of cherry blossoms. At least twenty blupees surround him, lazily hopping about or cleaning themselves.
“You were right,” she breathes. “It is beautiful.”
Link smiles and eases down beside her, hanging his feet over the edge.
“Told you,” he says, with just a hint of playfulness, and bumps her shoulder with his own.
No sooner has he done it, than he regrets it. But before he can dig himself down into a hole of miserable embarrassment, Zelda nudges him back.
And when he looks over, she’s grinning.

ooc;; Link Pokemon team drop--
a couple notes, I made a promise to myself not to use any legendaries in his team, so there's that.
For this verse, this is assuming a strange match of loz and Pokemon, we don't think about the possible conflicting timelines, we just roll. My brain sort of locked into precalamity as the setting for this team in particular, which explains a lot of the baby Pokemon. In theory several of these would evolve and the team might switch up come totk timing.
Also this is initial vibes and I might still change it up, but this is a first pass. Pokemon personalities and descriptions below the cut!
Rapidash-- Link's first Pokemon because the horsegirl agenda lives on. He's had Rapidash the longest, starting from a Ponyta before he even thought about being a knight. Her name is Epona because obviously. Sometimes timid but very affectionate with Link
Gallade -- started training with Link as a Ralts and evolved while Link was in his knight training to be a Gallade. Strong and silent type
Horsea-- initially belonged to Mipha and was present when Mipha taught Link how to swim. Eventually, Mipha gifts Horsea to Link. Horsea does evolve into Kingdra after the 100 year gap so Link ends up with a dragon type in the end
Riolu-- when Link starts his travels with Zelda, the vibes were bad, not just between Zelda and Link but also with the coming Calamity. Cue one small Riolu who just wants to do his best. Does eventually evolve into Lucario after the 100 year sleep. Close friends with Absol. The happiest bean despite everything
Absol-- actually joins Link just shortly after he pulls the Sword that Seals the Darkness free. Absol can sense Something is up and joins on with Link for the ride. Close friends with Riolu. Serious nature, just stands there Menancingly
Floette-- (should be the blue variety, ignore the red in this picture) Gift from Zelda, because Silent Princess symbolism shhhhh. She likes to dance with Riolu and Link doesn't end up using her much in battle.
After BotW and the gap between TotK, Link's team does switch around a little bit. I'm not sure who all changes, but when the Master Sword breaks, Link does find a noble Aegislash that joins his team
