Actually posting a WIP on this blog because I’m pretty excited with these naked Barbie dolls LMFAO BUT thinking hard about Damien-timeline characters again/revisiting them, and these would be his main suitors/LIs lmfao

From left to right we haavvee:

Camilla: “former” mean-girl who is trying to make up for relentlessly bullying Damien as a child post-abduction lmfao her and Naima are childhood best friends, and she’s essentially another rich kid from an “old-money” household. Her parents are fairly (and openly) judgmental of Donna and Val’s relationship and as a result look down on Damien as a whole (which spills over into how Camilla acts/acted)

Antony: The Man. Works on a vineyard that has been in Valerius’s family for generations; doesn’t live in Vesuvia, so he is a bit in the dark in terms of how Damien carries himself when with other rich assholes (which means he’s much softer with Damien than with anyone). While Damien and him weren’t close when they were children, he always had a bit of a crush on him and they finally had the chance to really meet and connect when Damien returned

Naima: my babygirl. The future countess of Vesuvia who inherited her mother’s (and let’s be real father’s lmao) poor taste in men (Damien lmfao) Like Camilla, very repentant for how she treated Damien when they were children and also carries the weight of her mother’s successes (and failures) on her shoulders at all times lmfao

Lucius: another well-off, old money rich kid with parents who have remained (primarily silently) loyal to Lucio, even after his death (hence his namesake—also inspired by Squad convos lol) While he and Damien didn’t have many interactions when they were children, he instantly gravitated towards Damien when he returned and they almost immediately started an on-again-off-again fling (apple -> tree)

The distinction between these folks and other people Damien fucks around with is that they all, in some way shape and form lmao, would like to be “end game” with Damien, which leads to a lot of infighting/pettiness that Damien thrives on lmfao Damien’s treatment of them varies (at times he can be outright cruel to all of them) and he purposefully keeps his intentions vague about them.

(An aside is that all the older folks have a secret prediction board they’re all silently betting on lmfao Donna & Val are trying their best to be as hands-off as possible, given Damien’s whole life, to really give him the time and space to put himself out there LMFAOO but they definitely have their favorites 😛)

She obviously loves Donna very much (hence why she has several tattoos to remind her of them), and she will travel to Vesuvia with Sam to visit them too. Absolutely does not vibe with Valerius LMAO they’ve gotten better as she’s gotten older, but she just does not vibe with her step-dad lmao

Other than the looming threat of paternal death, she is very much the life of the party lmfao She’s much more of a socialite than someone with many political interests, and if there’s an excuse to throw a party, she’s throwing a damn party

Dublin night 3 report/The Car tour summary:

- late to the party but I think I'm still processing what happened and my mind refuses to accept the fact that it was the last show of this era (draggin' out a long goodbye)

- I couldn't think of a better closing show - especially with Perfect Sense (even though I'm not a big fan of this song I really appreciated that nod from the band, it was touching)

- I got a feeling that the band were a bit exhausted after all those over 100 gigs (who wouldn't be?), nevertheless they served us with a high quality show as always

- having Miles on stage for 505 😭 and having him as the support act - class! (I must admit that I forgot how energetic and super hyped he gets when being on stage)

- one year ago I probably didn't even think that I'd able to attend so many gigs, and the closing one in particular

- this tour and The Car era was truly special and exceptional for me - comparing to TBHC era when I didn't have an opportunity to go abroad and visit all those cool venues they played at

- this recent time (over a year) was a dream which I was chasing for a several years to come true and it finally happened! I can't be more grateful, and it feels a bit like I don't deserve so much positivity, so many good things and beautiful memories. It was a really good year for me (a sentence which was absent in my personal dictionary for such a long time)

- thanks to Monkeys I visited 7 countries and I convinced myself that I've grown up enough to go on a self-organised trip and make it through (with only 1 bad accident but nothing very serious)

- this tour I saw the band 10 times (counting from August '22 gigs) and each show was different - even though the core setlist was the same I got some shuffles, and some of them were mind-blowing (I think A Certain Romance in Sheffield tops everything 😍)

- I made friends and met fellow fans (mainly from AMus forum, including some legends, haha) which was crucial to make all those concerts so special to me - huge thanks to @american-sports for spending some nice time before and after the concert in Dublin, it's always great to hear others' stories related to the band

- and last but not least: it was such a fun (or to stick to the tour theme: such a cool drive!) to follow the tour and the band here with the community, cheers to anyone who will be reading my ramblings 😁 But we're not going anywhere, right? The boys will for sure drop something in the meantime (pointing at you, Ben).

While Damien personally compares himself to his father, he hates when others do it to him, especially regarding looks 

Damien is. Complicated. 

Damien is well known throughout Vesuvia, and he has a multitude of suitors and playmates. He is deceptively sweet and charming, which gives people the impression that he is more invested in their relationship than he really is. Truly, Damien is a very shallow person and will sleep with who he needs to in order to rise to the top. Sex and romance are games to him, and he intends on winning (though what that means or looks like, he isn’t quite sure). It is not uncommon for some of his partners to see that he has written nearly identical letters to another person or has sent someone else a nearly identical gift. However, he typically always has an excuse up his sleeve, and if that fails, his crocodile tears are quite convincing to an unsuspecting person. 

With that being said, out of all of my OCs, Damien craves love and genuine connection the most. Someone will be able to tell easily if Damien is genuinely interested in them: he will script less of your conversations, will seek you out first, will open up more easily, etc., etc. He is a bit useless when it comes to people he likes, and it is common for him to withdraw entirely before he ruins things. He needs a long-term partner who is patient but firm with him and won’t just concede to his whining. (And of course, Damien has a laundry list of shit he needs to do before being able to be in a relationship at all lmao)

Damien grew up thinking he was, literally, a monster and still believes this. He doesn't necessarily think he is deserving of genuine love, and in many ways, he is still very much the hurt child he was all those years ago, scared and insecure. These are things that a partner cannot change or make better, which makes romantic ships much harder and more complicated (fun sex is on the table though lmao).

He is prone to very severe breakdowns, and he has a bit of a temper even on a good day. Patience, understanding, and communication are key for him. Once he is calmed down, he is able to self-reflect and apologize properly. He never wants to hurt people he cares about on purpose—he’s truly a big work in progress lmao

Damien identifies as a dominant and will only take on a dominant role with suitors or new playmates. Sex and kink give him a sense of power and control, and he refuses to give that up to another person he doesn’t trust. However, he’s Donna’s kid at heart, and he deeply understands what it’s like to give up control and the trust that requires at the moment.
