So.. the difference between Kristin/Idina and whatever the fuck the other two are called is that Kristin and Idina’s friendship is genuine. Always has been, always will be. NOT forced, NOT a PR stunt. NOT fake. Cynthia and Ariana, on the other hand, are fake, and their so-called “friendship” is a clear marketing tactic to make people think they’re friends and whatnot. Fake friendship between two celebrities is nothing new in Hollywood. The devil works hard, but the Universal Studios marketing team works harder.

Chenzel fans being annoyed at Cynthiana will never not be funny to because like, yes, and?

I will reward fake dating/fake queerness stuff if its done so well there's 10 shared tattoos and hundreds of hours of footage of them leaning into it so hard your regular bigot takes notice. Don’t you see how much easier Kristin and Idina would have had if they were existing as friends and doing the musical together now, as opposed to in 2003, when they were constantly being asked about rivalries and only that? They were given the same treatment Cynthia and Ariana got at the start, the same you're giving them, and time was what proved the Chenzel friendship to be true and not a Broadway PR stunt. Can't we give Cynthia and Ariana time and space to prove if its real or not too?

Tbh I don't particularly care if it's true or not. I do care that things like this, being portrayed in a good light, are some of what makes being queer for younger people easier. I care that my godson gets to watch them and see a little of himself. I care that I personally know homophobes who watched them at the Oscars and said they're cute girlfriends without even a fetishizing(or demeaning) undertone to it.

There's still benefits to it for me even if its a PR stunt done out of the movie male lead being too gay for it to work with him.

sitting here over the last few days wondering if, while there’s merit to it, timeline theory isn’t actually what’s going on, and edward is literally just a cover story made to wipe henry from existence/memory, and that’s why henry only shows up as mentioned in the weekly watcher, aka the conspiracy theory paper who wouldn’t be under the thumb of anyone in government

i just think it’s interesting. that all the discrepancies, while some being caused by the mindflayer, might just be bc some people have a vested interest in hiding the truth under various different lies, which means we get detail changes and conflicting stories

i just think it would be neat if it was purely about the government trying to hide their mess, which is already a prevalent theme throughout the show. they love hiding their projects, and they don’t need an alternate timeline/parallel universe for that

i still find timeline theory interesting and plausible, but i wonder if it’s less “parallel universe where some things are different” and more “the mindflayer exists across time and might be able to see different outcomes, and the government is spinning webs of lies to try and make the truth unfindable”
