My noise cancelling headphones are dead (AGAIN). It is the same crackling noise in one ear that happened last time. They are Bose QC-45.
Last time died soon after I got, so I got a replacement (of same Bose QC-45, just a new pair). This time it took longer to die, but still under a year. Mum says for the price they should last longer.
To be fair, I do wear/use them all day every day. I have extreme sound sensitivity. And other very severe sensory issues, so the only thing that prevents immediate crisis all day long at anything bothering me, is the headphones. They are on my head all day long (from 9am until whatever time I manage to sleep, sometimes it is as late as 4am). So any headphones I get will die probably sooner for me than someone else who wears/uses it less.
I am now using the backup headphones - Bose QC-35. These ones lasted way longer, I had them for a decent amount of time before I even got the Bose QC-45.
But they feel different and not as nice on my head. And the sound is a bit different. And noise cancelling slightly less good. And it hurts a bit with my glasses.
I am really upset because it is different. Change is hard. It is Very Bad with hot weather AND dead headphones stacked on top of each other.
Anyway, Mum says we should get maybe a different brand of noise cancelling headphones for the next pair. Since they broke so fast both times.
Question: Does anyone have recommendations for good noise cancelling headphones? Especially ones that feel really comfy and have a high level of noise blocking. They have to be over-ear (not earbuds).
The last time I asked about this on here, someone mentioned Sony... but I can't remember the exact ones.
I just want to know information about options - especially with details like how they feel on the head and sound quality and level of noise blocking.
If anyone can help, I appreciate it!

Unfortunately, those $300 Bose QC Ultra Earbuds are actually extremely good.
Their fit inside the ear isn't affected by my narrow, harshly angeled ear canals. I also like how their white noise used for noise canceling isn't deafeningly loud when there's minimal outside noise and no other audio playing through the earbuds.
Like every other noise-cancelling device, when the earbuds detect a loud noise, they let the sound through, past the noise canceling. However, I especially love how Bose handles this safety feature. They leave the noise canceling on while the loud sound is being made, but immediately after the sound stops, they reduce the noise canceling threshold to the lowest setting, and they suppress the audio playing through the earbuds, simulating that loud echo you'd hear in like a spacious, empty room without actually being loud.
This is very important to me because that means using these earbuds won't trigger my phonophobia, it sort of eases you into the loudness that it needs you to hear, especially if it's a continuous series of loud noises, like a car driving by, or a thick metal piece falling and bouncing on the floor.
tl;dr: unfortunately, sometimes expensive things are better.

Apple AirPods Pro: Unveiling the Pinnacle of Wireless Audio
Images Source – gsmarena.com
In the realm of wireless audio, Apple AirPods Pro stands tall as a quintessential embodiment of innovation and premium sound quality. Launched as an upgrade to the original AirPods, the Pro variant introduces cutting-edge features, advanced technology, and a design that seamlessly integrates into the Apple ecosystem. Let's delve into the key aspects that make the Apple AirPods Pro a standout choice for enthusiasts seeking an unparalleled wireless audio experience.
Design and Comfort:
The AirPods Pro exhibit a sleek and compact design that blends seamlessly with Apple's signature aesthetic. The most notable enhancement is the addition of customizable silicone ear tips, a departure from the one-size-fits-all approach of the previous models. These ear tips not only contribute to a more secure fit but also facilitate excellent noise isolation, creating an immersive audio environment.
Apple's attention to detail is evident in the vent system that equalizes pressure, minimizing discomfort during prolonged use. The result is a pair of earbuds that provide both a snug fit and remarkable comfort, making them suitable for extended listening sessions, workouts, or daily commutes.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC):
The AirPods Pro takes the listening experience to new heights with its Active Noise Cancellation technology. Using advanced algorithms and microphones, the earbuds continuously adapt to external sounds, effectively blocking unwanted ambient noise. Whether you're in a bustling city, on public transport, or working in a noisy environment, the AirPods Pro create a cocoon of silence, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in your chosen audio or phone call.
Transparency Mode and Adaptive EQ:
Apple further enhances user experience with the Transparency Mode, a feature that intelligently blends external sounds with your audio playback. This is particularly useful when you need to stay aware of your surroundings without removing the earbuds. Whether you're crossing a busy street or having a quick conversation, the AirPods Pro cater to real-world scenarios with a simple squeeze or tap on the stem.
The Adaptive EQ feature is another noteworthy addition, adjusting the audio output based on the unique shape of your ear. This ensures a consistently rich and balanced sound profile tailored to your hearing preferences.
Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos:
Apple's commitment to delivering an immersive audio experience is evident in the introduction of Spatial Audio and support for Dolby Atmos. Spatial Audio brings a three-dimensional audio experience by dynamically tracking your head movements, ensuring that the sound stays anchored to your device. This feature is particularly impressive when watching movies or videos, creating a cinema-like feel with sound that surrounds you.
Effortless Integration with Apple Ecosystem:
One of the AirPods Pro's strengths lies in its seamless integration with the broader Apple ecosystem. The earbuds connect effortlessly to Apple devices through the H1 chip, enabling features like instant pairing, hands-free "Hey Siri" commands, and automatic switching between Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
Conclusion:
In the competitive landscape of wireless earbuds, the Apple AirPods Pro stands out as a masterpiece of engineering and design. With its emphasis on comfort, advanced features like ANC and Transparency Mode, and integration with the Apple ecosystem, the AirPods Pro delivers a superior audio experience. Whether you're a dedicated Apple user or an audiophile seeking top-notch wireless technology, the AirPods Pro continues to set the benchmark for premium wireless earbuds.

Headphones! I use Bose QC 35, they're getting old, but they've been a godsend, since I have sound sensitivity. And I wear them probably for like.. 6-12 hours a day.

I only remember it while listening to the song... does that count?
