Airpods, samsung, jabra, beats and anker compared and ranked
Cnn underscored is your guide to the everyday services and products that help you live a better, less complicated and more fulfilling life. They have rock-strong bluetooth 5 connectivity with aac and aptx help, long eight-hour battery, good controls including a way to adjust volume and so they even sound good, with balanced, rounded audio. 6 testing performed by apple in august 2016 using preproduction airpods items and software paired with preproduction iphone 7 items and software.
If you would like more isolation than the airpods but can't get on with canal-bud style ideas, the bose soundsport free provide an excellent halfway house. You want the airpod-like convenience of connectivity and features with an iphone (or android with app), with class-leading battery, good sound, glorious controls including a real volume rocker, plus an ear hook design that's unshakeable.
While the series 4 and series 5 watch have many convenient and useful improvements, the series 3 is remains a terrific smartwatch made better by watchos 6. At this black friday blk pods of $129, it's a terrific deal for anyone who wants the perfect smartwatch for iphone users and probably the greatest smartwatches you may get, period.
Many of the sellers we seen don't mark up their costs that a lot on black friday as compared to singles day. They do not sport the noise-cancelling characteristic of their new and pricier siblings, the airpods professional , however should you're an apple fan and are on the lookout for good sound, design and usefulness at a tempting worth, there's lots, loads to like right here.
The first actual phrase of black ‌airpods‌ came only in february from mysmartprice which claimed to have heard from "Trusted" sources that the new ‌airpods‌ would come with higher bass response, a matte finish, and are available in each white and black colours. These mini bluetooth stereo earbuds are totally waterproof and include usb connectivity. Aside from these new options, the apple airpods (2019) are similar to the unique airpods, with 20 hour battery life and wonderful sound high quality.

Bose Sport Earbuds - Wireless Earphones - Bluetooth In Ear Headphones for Workouts and Running, Triple Black
Tumblr media
Description
Bose Sport Earbuds are designed to energize your exercise with acclaimed lifelike sound and a comfortable secure fit. Get ready to beat your personal best, again and again.
Bose patented acoustic port design and premium, high-efficiency drivers combine to deliver big sound from a small acoustic package. Bose signature Volume-Optimized Active EQ automatically adjusts the bass, midrange, and treble based on how loud or soft you play your music. And Bose new StayHear Max tips create an airtight seal with your ear canal — critical for hearing the deep low notes that add impact and emotion to your music and for blocking the ambient noise around you so you can focus on your music and your workout.
Bose Sport Earbuds come with three sizes of StayHear Max tips, so you can find the right fit for you. Every surface that touches your ear is made of soft silicone. Meanwhile, the unique umbrella-shaped tip and the extended flexible wing keep your Bose Sport Earbuds securely in place — without need of an ear hook — no matter how much you shake your head or jump up and down.
Bose Sport Earbuds go through rigorous quality testing for durability. They’re also rated IPX4 for water resistance, which means they’re protected against sweat and light rain. The electronics inside are wrapped in special materials that protect them from moisture, so your earbuds stay in top shape, just like you.
Bose Sport Earbuds feature a capacitive touch interface. On the right Earbud, tap to play or pause music and to answer calls. And on the left Earbud, double-tap to engage a Shortcut function of your choice like checking your battery level. If you get a phone call, instead of interrupting your workout, simply tap the right Earbud or press and hold it to reject. If you answer, you’ll hear the call clearly in both ears. Meanwhile, your caller will hear you clearly, too — thanks to the beam forming microphone array that separates your voice from surrounding noise.
Bose Sport Earbuds provide up to 5 hours of battery life per charge. They’re charged by placing them in the included charging case. If the case is charged, it will automatically charge the earbuds. The status lights on each Earbud will pulse white, while they charge before turning solid white and then off when fully charged. When the case is fully charged, it can provide a 15-minute quick charge for up to 2 more hours or two full charges for up to 10 more hours.
Bose Sport Earbuds offer complete freedom of movement. As long as you’re within 30 feet (9 meters) of your device, you’ll hear whatever you’re playing. And with Bose custom-designed antennas hidden inside each Earbud, dropouts are rare.
Bose Sport Earbuds connect to the free Bose Music app, which lets you name your earbuds, set the controls the way you like them, check your battery, and more.

Kef Mu3 headphone test: high quality sound, exemplary battery life, but a taste of unfinished business
When a brand like Kef hits the wireless headphone market, we listen. Faced with serious competitors from Apple, Bose, Jabra, Sennheiser, and Sony, do the Mu3s have their place among the elite of wireless headphones?
Entering a market as competitive as that of wireless headphones when you are a prestigious audio brand like Kef is no easy task. There is no question of doing things by halves or of disappointing all those who will imagine that Kef headphones necessarily have exceptional audio quality. This is why we wanted to test the Mu3s for several weeks before delivering our verdict.
A unique design signed Ross Lovegrove
The first thing that leaps to the eye when you discover the MU3 and their case is that they are unlike any existing model. Kef gave them a unique identity and style by bringing in industrial designer Ross Lovegrove. Known for his organic approach which draws its inspiration from nature, it is to him that we owe the incredible Kef Muon Hi-Fi speakers at 150,000 euros. The Mu3 takes the fluid design of the Muon and a faux aluminum finish of the nicest effect. We immediately want to touch the case, which offers a touch as soft and sensual as its shapes suggest. The coating, which does not mark at all under the fingers, and a very well-adjusted assembly perfectly create the illusion of metal while everything is only plastic. The opening of the case is also very satisfactory, the cover keeping any position given to it. It provides 15 hours of extra charge to the headphones and recharges itself via a USB-C cable.
Tumblr media
The Kef Mu3 signed Ross Lovegrove will not leave you indifferent.
The headphones have a fairly basic design, a bit in the shape of a bean, but without the slightest roughness. No fin or protruding part to come to wedge in the ear. The in-ear design is quite short and not very intrusive. A good point for comfort and to avoid the plug effect caused by some models. On the other hand, it is absolutely necessary to choose with care the pair of silicone tips among the four supplied to achieve a sufficiently stable and airtight fit. The Mu3 easily find their place in the hollow of the ear with a small quarter turn. They are compact, relatively discreet, and comfortable to wear for a long time. The curved button on their external face falls intuitively under the finger and facilitates access to the onboard controls. Can we use them for sports? In theory yes since they are classified IPX 5 and therefore resistant to splashes. But we tried to run with them and they weren't holding up very well. Still, the maintenance will really depend on the morphology of each.
All for the music
Kef promises a "  pure and precise sound  " and we can say that the promise is kept. The Mu3 are clear and very balanced. We particularly appreciated the very tight position of the bass, which is never overwhelming while still offering enough depth. They are there when needed. The highs are crisp and the mids are precise.
Most audiophiles will appreciate this sense of balance that is not so common among high-end wireless headphones. A quality that gives great versatility and a real listening comfort to the Mu3 which ranks among the best models. You have to push the volume to around 60 to 70% for the Mu3 to give its full potential. Fans of jazz, rock, and chiseled pop will love these headphones. The only downside is the absence of the AptX codec, which is far from prohibitive but could be taken for granted given the price.
Tumblr media
Kef largely lives up to its reputation for the audio quality of the Mu3s.
Double-edged simplicity
Kef has opted for direct and super simple handling of the Mu3. We take them out of their case, connect them to our smartphone via Bluetooth, and let's go. No application to install, nor sound calibration procedure. Very appreciable efficiency. But, to keep it simple, Kef has unfortunately slipped towards an approach that leaves an impression of unfinished business. There is no port detection to interrupt and resume playback as soon as the headphones are removed and put back on. Also for absent subscribers, the multipoint connection allows simultaneous connection to several devices (as the Jabra Elite 85t and 75t do ), which is practical for using the headphones on your computer and being able to take a call on your smartphone.
Impossible to customize the operation of the control buttons, to manage the active noise reduction or even to touch the audio settings thanks to an equalizer. All this is not essential, but it is a possibility that should exist on headphones at 230 euros. We can bet that Kef will seek to fill some of these gaps with future software updates.
A shy noise reduction but an exemplary autonomy and connection
The Mu3 offers active noise reduction (RBA) and transparency or "ambient" mode that you activate with a quick press on the button on the left earphone. The RBA produces a certain attenuating effect, but it does not create a listening bubble as effective as that of the Bose QC Earbuds, which are benchmarks in this field. The transparency mode is unnatural and we prefer to remove the headphones when someone is talking to us. A mixed impression that we find on the quality of hands-free calls, especially outside.
On the other hand, the Mu3 impressed us on two key points: the quality of their wireless connection and their autonomy. The Bluetooth range goes well beyond 10 meters if there are no obstacles between you and the phone. It is very appreciable when you are at home because you do not need to keep the mobile with you.
Kef announces nine hours of autonomy with the RBA and our use has often approached this figure. An impressive longevity which places the Mu3 at the top of the basket. The case offers an additional 15 hours of charging and can restore 1 hour of use in five minutes.
Tumblr media
The Kef Mu3 connect without delay and in a very stable way.
Futura's review
We can say that Kef has successfully entered the wireless earphone market with these Mu3s that do not just ape the competition with their singular style, their refined musicality and their exemplary autonomy. The manufacturer succeeded in the most difficult, which makes the functional shortcomings that we have pointed out all the more regrettable. Still, part of the reproaches that we address to the Mu3s are likely to fly away if Kef chooses to correct the situation with updates.
If, for you, only the audio quality counts for listening to your music then the Mu3 will make you happy. If, on the other hand, you consider that headphones at 230 euros must offer a range of settings and features as well as powerful noise reduction, then you are better to look to an alternative like the Elite 85t from Jabra.
WE love
Audiophile quality
Design moose and comfortable
Simple handling
Reliable, long-range Bluetooth connection
We don't like
No adjustment possible
Active noise reduction not present enough
The improved phone call quality

Agilenano - News: The Best Workout Headphones of 2021
— Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed’s editors. Purchases you make through our links may earn us a commission. Working out is a struggle for many of us. Between work, hobbies, and maintaining a semblance of a social life, it can be tough to stay committed to a regular workout or gym schedule. Plugging in a pair of headphones, however, can transform your exercise routine into an opportunity to catch up on podcasts or dig into some new music. And if you’re looking for the best buds for the job, you can’t go wrong with our favorite workout earbuds, the Jabra Elite Active 75t (available at Amazon for $179.99). The Elite Active 75 have it all: a rugged and water resistant form factor, tons of features (including both transparency mode and active noise cancellation) and easy-press controls so you can keep that heart rate humming. But there are plenty of other great earbuds primed for for your workout routine, and we’ve put dozens to the test so you can find the perfect pair for you, no matter how you get your sweat on. Here are the best workout headphones we tested, ranked in order: Jabra Elite Active 75t JLab Epic Air Sport ANC Sony WF-SP800N JBL x Under Armour True Wireless Flash X Jabra Elite Active 65t Beats Powerbeats Pro Beats Powerbeats Bose Sport Open Earbuds Credit: Reviewed/Jackson Ruckar The Jabra Elite Active 75t are the ultimate workout earbuds, and much more. Best Overall Jabra Elite Active 75t The Jabra Elite Active 75t are a great set of wireless earphones for just about anyone. But they're particularly suitable for folks who spend a lot of time running or working out, thanks to their nimble design and their hearty, IP57-rated dust and water resistance, allowing you to safely rinse them off after a workout. The Elite Active 75t will net you nearly every bell and whistle you might be hoping for, from a finder function so you won't lose track of them to transparency mode, which allows you to hear the world around you so you can stay aware in nearly any situation. Jabra even added solid digital active noise cancellation (ANC) to their already impressive passive noise isolation, which helps make these already versatile buds even better. The Elite Active 75t sound good, though their heavy, bass-forward sound signature won't be for everyone, and it might take some tinkering in the accompanying app to find an equalization setting that fits your playlist. Still, their sound performance will satisfy most casual listeners and power users alike—especially for those pounding workouts—and it's bolstered by around 7 hours of battery life per charge (or 5.5 hours with ANC). That's especially impressive giving their ultra-micro form factor. We also love the Elite Active 75t’s playback controls; their buttons are easy enough to press without needing much force, yet firm enough that they rarely get pressed accidentally. Jabra’s intuitive controls and customization (thanks to the loaded Jabra Sound+ app) make for one of the best user experiences in the true wireless game. One small point of caution: Their small size and rigid plastic design isn't a perfect fit for everyone, and they also may wear on those with smaller ears after a few hours—though that's the case with the majority of true wireless earbuds to some degree. All in all, the Jabra Elite Active 75t are a great pick for folks looking for superb performance, durability, and a well-rounded workout companion. In addition, if you don't see the need for your earbuds to be fully submerged in water—and you want to save a few bucks—the Elite 75t earbuds are nearly identical to their cousins, but with a less-rugged IP55 dust/water-resistance rating. Either way, you'll be getting a great pair of durable earbuds, armed for virtually any scenario (workout or otherwise) that you can throw at them. Pros Durable, dunkable design Sleek and small Loaded with features Cons Sound lacks balance Fit may be tricky for some $179.99 from Amazon $179.99 from Best Buy $178.00 from Walmart Credit: Reviewed/Geoffrey Morrison The JLab Epic Air Sport ANC are an exceptional value and perfect workout companions for those on a budget. Best Value The JLab Epic Air Sport ANC JLab's Epic Air Sport ANC may look like they're sport first and everything else a distant second, but looks can be deceiving. Not only are they great for your daily workout grind, but they're also well suited for anyone worried about getting a good fit, especially those who struggle with traditional earbuds. They’re IP66 rated, meaning they’ve got good dust and water resistance—but don’t submerge them. One big reason they work great for high-impact workouts is the over-ear loop design. It’s a soft silicone we never found annoying, fitting comfortably even with glasses. Some people aren’t a fan of this style, but it allows for a far more secure fit than any other option—we never once felt that they’d fall out and get lost. That makes them a great trade-out if our options like the Jabra Elite 75t won't work for your ears. The loops aren’t removable (see the non-Sport sibling), but the Epic Air Sport come with multiple silicone ear tip options, plus a very comfortable foam tip. Overall the sound is a bit bass heavy, but JLab's app allows for extensive EQ options to help you fine-tune your preferred sound. Battery life was slightly less than claimed. We measured around 13 hours per charge to JLab’s claim of 15, but still, that’s a ton for true wireless headphones. If you enable features like noise canceling, you’ll get less battery life. Speaking of noise canceling, like most affordable true wireless options, it’s pretty mild. It doesn’t hurt to have it, of course, but if you’re looking specifically for noise canceling, you’ll want to look at the top picks on our best wireless earbuds list, or our best noise-canceling headphones list. Like the majority of newer true wireless earbuds, the Epic Air Sport ANC also offer adjustable transparency mode, which JLab calls Be Aware, letting you hear your environment in high-traffic areas. The case, a bit larger than the others in this category, also holds a big battery, offering about 3.5 additional charges. It has an attached USB cable, which is either a strength or a weakness depending on your gear. More importantly, it has wireless charging which is a great touch. If you’re headed out for a walk or hike, these are a fantastic pair to grab, and at this price, they're very hard to pass up. Pros Secure, adaptable fit Multiple sound options Very long battery life Cons Over-ear loop isn't for everyone $99.00 from Amazon $99.99 from Best Buy $99.99 from Target How We Tested Credit: Reviewed.com / TJ Donegan True wireless earbuds all come with two individual buds—no wires between them—and a charging case. For this list, we focus on several key pain points that consumers typically run into when buying both wireless and “true wireless” earbuds (those completely free of any wires): battery life, ease of use, controls, wireless range, sound quality, sound isolation, water and dust resistance, and comfort, among other features. For sound quality tests, we put earbuds through some basic audio tests in our labs in Cambridge, MA to give us data on a few things such as max volume, passive and active noise attenuation (including active noise cancellation), and how well each earbud blocked outside noise. We use all the earbuds extensively, playing a wide variety of test tracks ranging from classical to hip-hop, rock, jazz, and more. The other features are all tested in real-life situations, including sweat proofing, short- and long-term comfort, battery life, microphone quality, and connectivity over distances and through obstacles like doors and walls. For sports options, we also put them through their paces in a variety of workout situations. Perhaps the biggest missing link in all headphone reviews is durability. It's simply impossible for us to test a single pair and come to a meaningful conclusion about how well they'll hold up over time and with regular use (and abuse). To account for this, we noted any major issues that popped up in user reviews (where available), though this didn't impact the final scoring. We also use these earbuds over a prolonged period and update their firmware when available to test out the latest features and update relevant articles and reviews with our findings. The truth is that wireless earbuds across the board have struggled with durability, so this is a major cause of concern for us. Since some of these models are quite new, we are reserving the right to re-evaluate our conclusions as we become aware of any major issues or pain points as time goes on. What You Should Know About Workout Headphones You've probably seen a bunch of different headphones in your everyday life. While they have a number of different selling points, headphones are primarily categorized into three types: in-ear (including all earbuds), on-ear, and over-ear. For this article we'll be focused only on in-ear models. These are primarily designed to be inserted into your ear canal and, apart from audiophile options or professional in-ear monitors, the vast majority will connect to your source device wirelessly. Credit: Reviewed Three popular types of headphones: in-ear, on-ear, and over-ear. Knowing the basic terminology of modern headphones is the best way to estimate what you need, which will guide you toward deciding on where you may want to compromise to fit your budget. Below are a few important terms to know before you shop. Bluetooth/wireless: Do you want wireless headphones? A pair of Bluetooth headphones will let you unplug from your source device, while a set of "true wireless" earbuds are even more minimalist, offering totally wire-free listening with no cable between the earbuds. If you're looking for an experience that won't tether you to your phone, tablet, or laptop, Bluetooth headphones are what you need—and fortunately, they're ubiquitous enough these days that you can find them in every style and price range. Active Noise Cancellation: Noise-canceling headphones, i.e those with active noise cancellation (ANC) aren't just for frequent flyers. Originally developed for pilots, these headphones reduce the volume of ambient noise around you. Over the last several years they've become a mainstay for travelers, public transit commuters, gym-goers, and those working in distracting environments in the office or at home. Most of our top picks include ANC as the feature has become more popular and widely available. You can also check out our guide of the best noise-canceling headphones we've tested. Transparency mode: This feature goes by many names, including HearThrough mode, ambient sound mode, Be Aware, etc. All of these phrases refer to the same technology, which uses tiny microphones on the exterior of your headphones or earbuds to filter in sound from your environment. The purpose is to keep you aware of your surroundings, letting you play tunes while you jog or hike, while still being aware of dangers or alerts. Not all transparency mode is created equal, though, and how a headphone’s hardware and software handle things like wind gusts can make a serious difference in the feature’s utility. IP: You'll encounter an "IP" rating across a wide array of electronics but the term is perhaps most important (in the headphone world anyway) when it comes to products designed to take on the elements. You'll often see the code "IPX" with a number at the end, or you may see codes like IP67, etc. The first number is dust resistance—how much the product stands up to ingress, essentially, and the higher the number the better. The second number is water resistance. The highest you'll likely see for headphones is "7" which means the product is certified to withstand being fully submerged in one meter of water (freshwater only) for 30 minutes. For workout headphones, anything from IPX4 (meaning the headphones can withstand splashes from any direction) and above is solid. For more info check out our IP guide. Other Workout Headphones We Tested Sony WF-SP800N Sony's WF-SP800N are formidable workout earbuds, offering an embarrassment of features for their price point, along with impressive sound, a strong and stable connection, and a sporty, water-resistant design—something Sony's flagship WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds don’t have. Packing everything from light noise cancellation and transparency mode to location based audio adjustment and Bluetooth 5.0, the SP800N are impressively well-appointed for their cost—especially since you can often find them on sale. They're also highly tunable thanks to Sony's Headphones Connect app, including a five-band EQ with a separate bass control so you can easily pull back (or ramp up) their booming "Extra Bass" feature. As for negatives, the SP800N’s noise cancelation is nothing to write home about, the buds are fairly bulky, and the charging case stores only one extra charge, though their 9 hours of playback per charge makes this more palatable. In addition, we found a tear in one of the silicone ear fins after just a few days, but based on over 1,000 user reviews, we’re inclined to write this off as a fluke. Because their fins are fairly involved, it can also be a pain to put them in and take them out, but that’s also what makes them so stable for high-impact activities. Their incredible playback time of 9 hours on a single charge with noise cancellation—and a whopping 13 hours without it—helps make up for their charging case's shortcomings. Add in their wealth of other features and the SP800N are steeped with value, making them a great choice if you're looking for action-ready sports buds. Pros Smooth, detailed sound Up to 13 hours playback time Virtually ever feature you need Cons Chunky design Single recharge in case $199.99 from Best Buy $198.00 from Walmart $199.99 from Target $27.95 from B&H JBL x Under Armour True Wireless Flash X If you're an athlete or a fitness enthusiast, you probably know Under Armour and its lauded range of workout clothes and wearables. More recently, UA has lent its fitness expertise to wireless headphones in a partnership with the audio experts at JBL. The True Wireless Flash X are actually the second-gen baby of this fruitful collaboration, and they're a stalwart audio companion for your workouts. The True Wireless Flash X are excellent for workouts or jogging. They have multiple useful sound modes for hearing what's going on around you, and the earbuds and case are extremely robust and impact-resistant. They're a bit on the pricey side for headphones that might not be your go-to choice for non-workout situations, but if you've got the budget for a more purpose-built pair of headphones that can moonlight for other use cases, they’re an excellent choice. Where the Flash X really stand out from the pack is in the details of their design and physical components. The earbuds (and stabilizing wings) have been carefully built to be extremely firm and durable, composed of a firm but gently yielding rubber that makes for an extremely tight fit/seal. This is important for both keeping out exterior noise and stability in workouts. You can jump around, drop to the ground, or (we daresay) do a cartwheel through a waterfall and the True Wireless Flash will stay put. While they can become uncomfortable over time, and forego some desirable features like active noise cancellation, they make up for it in terms of sheer stability. Combined with the fully aluminum charging case—a product that should be able to withstand even the most grueling situations—the Flash X might just be the saviors of your workout universe. Pros Super durable Excellent water resistance Good battery life Cons Sound could be better for the price Fit can be uncomfortable for some ears $129.99 from Best Buy $169.95 from B&H Jabra Elite Active 65t The Jabra Elite Active 65t are nearly identical to their predecessor, the Jabra Elite 65t, except that they're much better equipped to deal with rain and dust, similar to the newer Elite Active 75t. They have great sweat resistance, too. In our testing, the Elite Active 65t performed similarly to the standard Elite 65t: mostly distortion-free sound with great isolation and a fair amount of “oomph” on the low end, all for a great price. While the AirPods get all the glory, Jabra’s aging 65t lineup helped kickstart the modern true wireless revolution, and they’re still solid workout buds (and earbuds in general) today. They offer the basics you want, including transparency mode for keeping aware of your environment (though they don’t have any active noise cancellation). And more importantly, these days they can be purchased for a song, especially when compared to most competitors. They're not perfect, of course: we had some mild connectivity issues. We sometimes found ourselves needing to remove the Elite Active 65t from our phone or computer’s saved devices list and re-establish a connection. That said, if you're just looking for a solid pair of wireless headphones that won't break the bank, the Jabra Elite Active 65t sound great, stand up to the elements, and offer desirable features alongside a stable fit. As such, they’re a great value, especially if you’re looking for an ultra-affordable, well-vetted pair of earbuds to help you master your workout. Pros Excellent sound Workout ready Cons Bluetooth issues Some sound artifacts $94.96 from Amazon $99.99 from Best Buy $113.00 from Walmart $99.99 from QVC Beats by Dre Powerbeats Pro Priced similarly to Apple's AirPods Pro, the Beats Powerbeats Pro are impressive true wireless earphones in their own right. Though they've lost some luster in recent years with heated competition, they offer impressive playback time per charge, great sound, and a durable, sporty design that stays put under duress. They're relatively stylish (as you might expect from Beats), available in ivory, black, navy, or moss colors, and their adjustable ear hooks help to keep them in your ears during just about any workout. This is where the Powerbeats line turned the corner. They offer great water resistance and vastly improved sound quality over previous Beats earbuds, making them a good choice for general use, though their ear-hook design can get uncomfortable over time. They come with a pocketable charging case (due to their ear hooks, it’s a lot larger than most), but their impressive 9 hours of battery life per charge allows you to leave the case behind. The Powerbeats Pro are less minimalist than Apple's AirPods, and come at a premium price point—especially for headphones that don’t include active noise cancellation or even any form of transparency mode. This makes them less-than-ideal for jogging in busy areas, but you can use just one of them at a time in such cases to keep aware of your surroundings. Their price point has also dropped a fair bit over time. If you’re looking for fitness first, and don’t hold transparency mode as a must-have feature, the Powerbeats Pro are a fine choice—especially if you grab them on a good sale. Pros Water-resistant Available in a number of colors Long battery life Cons Bass-forward sound not for everyone Ear hooks can be uncomfortable $199.95 from Amazon $188.99 from Walmart $199.99 from Target $199.95 from B&H Beats Powerbeats (4th Gen) The 4th-gen Beats Powerbeats are basically the same headphones as the Powerbeats Pro—they simply aren't "true wireless," featuring a small cable that runs between the two buds and behind your neck. However, what you're sacrificing by way of true wireless freedom, you're making up for in cost. People love the Powerbeats Pro, but they're often just too darn expensive (at full price anyway) for many budgets. The Powerbeats are a great stand-in, priced well below the Powerbeats Pro's suggested retail price, and their price tag is only falling. Not only that, but you'll also get longer battery per charge (though there's no charging case for a top-off). Outside of the wire situation, Beats fans will be happy to know that the connected Powerbeats sound just as good as the "Pro" model, and offer similar levels of flexibility and style (i.e., they come in a bunch of colors). Like other Beats headphones, their sound profile is still bass-forward, but it’s thankfully restrained here for excellent clarity to power you through your workout. As you’d expect for fitness headphones, the Powerbeats are also sweat- and water-resistant so you won’t have to worry about going for the gusto. They also offer shockingly good connection quality that outdoes their siblings, as well as any other true wireless earbuds we've ever tried. Seriously, they've got such good range you may actually forget where you put your phone. We do wish Beats included transparency mode to keep you safe on the road, but if you’re mostly looking for gym buds or don’t mind pulling out one earbud in dicey areas, the Powerbeats are a great buy. Pros Incredible wireless range Clear, powerful sound Workout ready Cons No transparency mode Ear hooks can get uncomfortable $149.99 from Best Buy $119.00 from Walmart $119.00 from B&H Bose Sport Open Earbuds Bose’s Sport Open Earbuds finish low in the rankings, partly because they simply don’t have the features that many of our favorites offer. But that’s also because the Sport Open are unlike virtually any other earbuds in existence right now, and given the right use case, they could be the perfect choice for your workout adventures. So what makes the Sport Open so different? Quite simply these are open-ear headphones (as the name helpfully spells out) meaning they don’t go in your ear canals, but sit above them to beam sound in from tiny speaker vents. What’s remarkable about this technology isn’t so much that you can hear things clearly, or even that it offers very minimal “bleed” into the world around you. No, what’s most impressive is that the Sport Open Earbuds actually sound good. And when you don’t have ear cups or even ear tips, that’s a feat in itself. The Sport Open use an advanced version of Bose’s OpenAudio technology, which can also be found in the company’s distinctive audio sunglasses, the Bose Frames. The sound has been upgraded, however, adding the crucial element of full and rich bass to their already impressive upper register. The result is an enjoyable audio experience that also keeps your ears fully open and free to explore (and keep you aware of) the world around you. This makes them great for running and hiking, but especially good for cycling, where the transparency mode of traditional wireless earbuds is rendered almost useless. Bose adds to the package with impressive design, including simple setup, a relatively hearty chassis for each bud, and (crucially) IPX4 water resistance to protect them from the elements. They also offer around 7-8 hours of battery per charge alongside a minimalist, but relatively effective control system accessed via a small button on the bottom of each earbud. There are some drawbacks to being different, though, starting with the fact that, unlike every other pair of true wireless earbuds we’ve tested, the Sport Open don’t come with a charging case to top off their battery on the go. They also have a relatively austere feature set (as you can imagine, there’s no way to add active noise cancellation here), including a pretty bare-bones app. And, for our ears anyway, they became relatively uncomfortable over time, making their use cases all the more limited. That said, if you’re looking for groundbreaking buds that sound good and keep your ears naturally free in any environment, the Bose Sport Open Earbuds stand alone. Pros Impressive sound for open buds Excellent for cycling Slick, relatively rugged design Cons No charging case Heavy frame can wear on ears Limited use cases $199.00 from Best Buy More Articles You Might Enjoy The Best Truly Wireless Earbuds The Best Wireless Earbuds for Running The Best Earbuds The Best Affordable In-Ear Headphones

Trump impeachment trial: former president denies inciting insurrection
Tumblr media
trump launched his response to the impeachment case monday, arguing the senate has no jurisdiction to convict as he's not president. here's what's at stake, what is taking place and what's next in the second impeachment trial of donald trump. with one week last before the second one impeachment trial of donald trump, the former president's new legal professionals have revealed their arguments to the case towards him. trump's reaction to the object of impeachment was posted monday night, denying that the previous president "engaged in rebellion or insurrection towards the usa."
"it's far denied that president trump incited the gang to interact in damaging conduct," trump's reaction alleges. "it is denied that the word 'in case you do not combat like hell you're now not going to have a country anymore' had whatever to do with the motion at the capitol."
trump maintains to disclaim that his baseless allegations that the election became stolen are fake. the response additionally denies that: trump meant to intervene with counting electoral votes; trump asked the georgia secretary of state to "discover" more votes than had been solid; and trump threatened the integrity of the democratic machine or interfered with the non violent transition of power.

the reaction also alleges that the senate does not have the jurisdiction to determine an impeachment trial, as trump is not president -- and alleges he did not devote an impeachable offense.
previous to trump's response, the residence democrats impeachment managers laid out their case to the senate for convicting trump. the impeachment trial need to move ahead "to shield our democracy and countrywide safety, and deter any destiny president" from upsetting violence, they argue.
trump's duty in inciting the revolt is "unmistakable," the residence democrats allege in their case, adding trump lied to his supporters for lots weeks by means of claiming the election turned into stolen.

Jabra Elite 85t Review
Quality noise cancellation has finally made its way to the world of true wireless earphones. Models from Apple and Bose have received high marks from us, with Jabra's $229.99 Elite 85t earphones now joining them. While they lack the seamless iOS integration of the $250 Apple AirPods Pro and aren't quite as effective in terms of noise cancellation as the $280 Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, the Elite 85t earphones carve out their own place in this top tier of true wireless options. Sonically, the in-ears deliver a strong audio experience with customizable EQ, while the ANC (active noise cancellation) is also fantastic, falling somewhere between the AirPods Pro and the Bose QC Earbuds.
Design
Available in black, the Elite 85t's design may not turn heads, but the focus here is on function. The earpieces are compact, and three pairs of oval silicone eartips offer a solid, secure fit, though not quite as secure as many sports-focused pairs we've tested.
The earphones have an IPX4 rating, meaning they can withstand a moderate spray of water from any direction—some sweat and very light rain shouldn't be an issue. The AirPods Pro and Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are also IPX4. If you need a pair that's actually waterproof, consider the $170 JBL UA True Wireless Flash X, which lack ANC but have a rating of IPX7 and can therefore be submerged and withstand modest pressure from a faucet.
The earpieces use push-button controls that are easy to operate and harder to accidentally misfire than touch-sensitive panels. A single press on the left ear switches between ANC and HearThrough modes (in the app, you can also turn both off). A double tap skips forward a track, and a triple tap navigates backward a track. Pressing and holding the left ear's button lowers the volume. On the right earpiece, a single tap controls playback, a double tap summons either Google Assistant or Siri, and a press-and-hold raises the volume. When you have an incoming call, pushing either button once answers and twice hangs up. Pressing and holding the left ear when on a call will put the call on hold, and the same on the right ear ends the hold.
The flip-top charging case isn't quite as slim as the AirPods Pro case, but it's close. It has a black eggshell finish, an uncovered USB-C port on the rear panel for the included USB-C-to-USB-A charging cable, and a status LED on the front panel. The case is also compatible with wireless Qi charging pads.
The Jabra Sound+ app for Android and iOS devices is key to enhancing your experience with the Elite 85t. You can adjust audio using a five-band EQ with presets, and a slider adjusts how much ANC you're getting—you can completely disable it, or turn it all the way to maximum. You can also select HearThrough mode (which lets you hear your surroundings), with a slider from ANC to ambient monitoring.
The app has built-in sound loops if you want to zone out or focus on a soothing sound like a waterfall or pink noise. A personal favorite of mine is the quite realistic "diving" loop, which recreates the sound of being underwater (minus the deep breathing). The app even allows you to adjust certain settings like sleep mode timing (or turning it off), how much of your own voice you hear on calls, and call EQ. There are various other features you can adjust, like automatically pausing audio when an earpiece is removed, or whether audio is muted when HearThrough is active. Finally, in the settings menu, you can assign various functions to the on-ear controls if you're not thrilled with the default settings.
Internally, 12mm drivers deliver a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The earphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, and support AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs, but not AptX.
Jabra estimates battery life to be roughly 5.5 hours, with the charging case holding 19.5 hours. These are pretty typical numbers for true wireless in-ears, but your results will vary with your volume levels and your mix of ANC use—with ANC always off, the battery life increases to 7 hours for the earphones and 31 hours in the case.
Performance
Using four of the six built-in MEMS mics, the Elite 85t earphones eliminate low-frequency rumble like you hear on a train or a plane quite well. The ANC seems to be even more effective for office or cafe noise—keyboard clicks are tamped down to a high degree, and ambient chatter is dialed back significantly.
Compared with the AirPods Pro, the ANC here is more effective in certain frequency ranges like keyboard presses and low-frequency rumble. Compared with the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, which successfully eliminate almost any hint of low-frequency rumble, Jabra still allows some through. This may be as much about the physical design of the earbuds as it is the ANC—the Bose earpieces are large, with eartips and fins that create a tight seal that blocks out plenty of ambient sound passively. The Elite 85t earpieces have a secure fit, but utilize only eartips, not fins. The earpieces stay in place just fine, but they block out less audio passively than the Bose model.
In the app, sliders control the level of ANC you can use, but there are also ANC presets, called Moments, intended for typical scenarios like commuting or when you need to focus. These presets will dial in specific ANC or ambient mode settings, or even sound loops you've selected. You can create your own Moment and save it, or use the presets.
The HearThrough mode is effective and easy to use. As mentioned, a slider controls how much of the outside world you hear. Unlike with the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, however, you're not blending ambient mode with ANC mode, you're choosing one or the other, and then choosing a level with the slider.
We tested audio performance with the app's EQ set to default, flat mode. On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the earphones deliver powerful low-frequency response that will appeal to bass lovers—at top volumes, there's no distortion, and at more moderate volumes, the lows still pack a punch, but the high-mids and highs are also sculpted and balance things out.
Bill Callahan's "Drover," a track with far less deep bass in the mix, gives us a better sense of the Elite 85t's general sound signature. Here, the extent of boosting and sculpting across the frequency range is clearer—the drums sound heavier and bigger, almost thunderous, but not quite veering into unnatural territory. The tape hiss also takes a step forward, and Callahan's baritone vocals get plenty of low-mid presence as well as high-mid treble edge. In other words, this is a highly sculpted, balanced sound signature—if anything, the mids are dialed back while the lows and highs step forward (though the high-mids also get dialed up). It's a common sound signature, and while it's not accurate, the EQ allows for easy adjustment if you want to dial back the lows or highs (or boost them to even higher levels).
On Jay-Z and Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild," the kick drum loop receives enough high-mid presence for its attack to retain its punchiness, but we notice the background vinyl crackle and hiss stepping forward in the mix just as much. The drum loop also receives some extra bass heft, and the sub-bass synth hits that punctuate the beat are delivered with gusto—but not as much deep bass push as we've heard from some in-ears that really dial it up to intense levels. The vocals on this track are delivered clearly, with a hint of added sibilance.
Orchestral tracks, like the opening scene from John Adams' The Gospel According to the Other Mary, sound the least natural through the Elite 85t. The lower-register instrumentation receives some notable boosting—it doesn't sound bad, but it's far from accurate. The higher-register brass, strings, and vocals are a bit brighter than usual, as well. But all this means the drivers are capable of producing exaggerated lows and highs—you can adjust the EQ to far more accurate settings, and things will sound notably different. Simply decreasing the lowest EQ band slightly, as well as decreasing the highest EQ band a bit, delivers a far more accurate sound signature.
The six-MEMS mic array offers excellent intelligibility. Using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone 8, we could understand every word we recorded, and there was very little in the way of Bluetooth distortion. The mic's signal is relatively strong, and being able to hear yourself in the earpieces means you tend to speak in a more controlled tone, which in turn results in a clearer mic signal.
Conclusions
The $250 Apple AirPods Pro and $280 Bose QuietComfort Earbuds both deliver excellent ANC and user experiences, while the $170 JBL US True Wireless Flash X earphones lack ANC, but have a more gym-friendly build. Jabra's Elite 85t in-ears offer slightly better ANC than the AirPods Pro (but not quite as good as the Bose model), and an excellent app that allows for ANC, EQ, and on-ear controls. They also happen to sound quite good—even if the bass and treble are seriously sculpted, the EQ allows you to do some sonic sculpting of your own. That makes the Elite 85t a compelling alternative to the AirPods and QuietComfort Earbuds depending on what you're looking for.

Beats Wireless Earbuds PowerBeats Pro | True Bass Earbuds
Tumblr media
Not only in price but also performance it's been quite some time and I'm sorry that's just the truth over the years Beats hasn't really said anything new that is in your audio department but today finally we got the Powerbeats Pro and the specs are quite impressive. Now it's a hefty $250 retail at the time. They're very much on the upper end with the Sennheiser and the Vino truly wireless earphones are priced slightly above and with let's say the bose sound sports the Jabra lineup and also the truly wireless earphones from jaybird those are a little bit below as always. I'll be going over both pros and cons also click on my affiliate links down below for the most updated prices in real time you never know when these things might go on sale.
Overview
Release Date May 2019 Price $249.95 Bluetooth 5.0 weight Earbuds: 21 grams Model Number PowerBeats Pro Waterproof IPX4 Check Price On Amazon
Physical Features
Going over the physical features first. I anticipated these were going to be bulky and they were going to stick out that the earphones would also bounce around during intense movements with my testing on all fronts. They don't, they're actually quite flush against my ear and for the first time I can run with a hoodie on and the earphones don't feel as though they'll fall out from gently rubbing against that fabric.  Now with more intense movements simply demonstrate myself jump-roping here I'd never had any doubt that they would fall off and more importantly I don't feel that the ear tips will be lifting off my ears and losing sound quality. That's really impressive, these are truly wireless earphones. One of the issues that I've noticed when I had the Powerbeats 3 now of course cosmetically I think they look pretty damn good too. Now all of this praise off physically being stable it's because of these ears they are adjustable and does retain its shape. They do feel more competent than the Powerbeats 3 as it's a bit stiffer and the casing feels a little bit more durable. So, we'll see over time now I love the fit on my draw bars and my Samsung Galaxy buds more recently those who were great but I will admit the ear hooks do provide that extra level of stability.
water resistance
Now moving on beats are claiming these are water and sweat resistant spraying the crap out of these things right here they are still working perfectly fine. I was hoping for some sort of ingress rating or considering that we've had all this time to design these having it be submersible/ Although overkill would have given me more peace of mind there's a few other competitors out there that offers just that why not the Powerbeats Pro. You can't be in your shower listening songs under heavy water pressures. It's water protection rating IPX4 can't help you there, it has physical buttons and not touch buttons. 12 BEST NOISE CANCELING EARBUDS FOR WORKOUT IN 2020
Mic, Buttons & voice commands
But getting a closer look easily identifiable multi-function button. The actions are identical on either side which I really liked. Little volume rocker buttons are located at the very top and also are easily identifiable. Everything is there except for transparency mode. Maybe some people call it here through ambient to air whatever name these companies give them beats does not have the ability to turn on the internal microphones so you can hear your environmental noises nearly. Everyone else is offering it and I know a bunch of you use it for safety while running. Some uses these truly wireless earphones while working to hear if your boss sneaks up on you. We don't get that again with your Powerbeats Pro.  Last test I confirm you can activate Siri with your voice as it seems to always be listening for that command. Awesome feature or of course you can always hold down the beats logo again on either side of these earbuds. Now with Android using my voice didn't work for me. You can only activate Google assistance with the button press or telling the button hold all right.
Bluetooth & Apple H1 Chip
Now moving on to the good stuff here. The technology there's this new Apple H1 Chip inside and it's working wonders. Yes, you do get amazing fast and seamless bluetooth pairing a very similar experience to those who had ear pods previously and with my iPhone I'm averaging about two seconds when the case opens to when the iPhone brings up this cool 3d spinning thing in battery life. In states definitely fast enough for me though but I love how seamless and more importantly how consistent it's been with Android, it's honestly not a slouch either. On screen is proof with my new pixel 3a I've been testing it connects on average in three seconds. Either scenario either phones by the time you put these earphones back into your ear. Adjust them, get them properly seated. It's already been paired.  Now since we're on the topic of Bluetooth, yes, I can't connect to more than one device at a time. yes, after testing playing video on either Android or iPhone where the YouTuber Netflix, I had zero syncing issues. Now although I couldn't find if the Powerbeats Pro uses bluetooth 5.0 or not which is typically used to signify which version a device uses. Apple States instead on their websites this uses a class 1 signal instead which means the earphones should be good up to 150 to 200 linear feet and yes wireless range and stability it has been great. I've been able to walk my entire apartment here with several walls in between and had zero signal loss. Now I also couldn't find if beats use apdex HD to determine how high of a resolution audio file it can handle but again I usually don't as there's been some great headphone / earphones without that high-resolution designation.
Battery & charging case
In addition to that chip we get one of the best battery performances on any truly wireless earphones that I've tested. Fast fuel just 5 minutes on that charger gives you back an hour and a half. This is the fastest I've experienced on any pair of truly wireless earphones that I've tested. Not to mention beats claims up to nine hours of use with the case you're getting about an additional 15 hours of use for a total of up to 24 hours. Most truly wireless earphones I have tested, they've ranged from 12 hours to 15 hours give or take an hour for the extremes but the Powerbeats Pros, they're class leading with my testing at 50 percent volume like all my other truly wireless earphones.   Since we're talking about the case or maybe you have seen that in the image here. I know some will say this case is quite large and it is but to be fair how else are you going to have these ear hooks attached to the earphones themselves. The case itself had more than one light to indicate battery life. I wish the case featured USBC versus lightning to have a truly wireless port for all my devices. I know Apple fans will be upset hearing that but the iPad pro has USB C there might be a USB C iPhone coming down the road so if that's the case no pun intended, here that's future proofing yourself that would be ideal unless I don't think there's any other company doing this just yet but if we can make this case dust proof in or water proof that would give me 100% peace of mind. But again, that's me being nitpicky right there and wishing for features at this point.  And before I forget about this, there is audio pause and play when you take off your earphones the audio stops you put them back on and the audio plays again and this also works for video as well. Seconds, you can leave either one of these earphones out of your ear and the audio will still play. You can have the other earphone on the other side of the room if you want and the audio will still continue this signal is not dependent on the other earphone like traditional truly wireless earphones.

Audio Quality Noise Canceling
Alright, let's get into some of the audio features. First up, let's talk about the microphone get ready that is and the audio is completely unedited and it's a little bit of breeze. Only guys can tell us by here being all crazy or jacked up right now but let me know what you guys think down the review description below. There's no good sound bad sound to pick it up. Let's test out this audio.  as nice and expensive as my microphones are audio recorded on my end and then played through your speakers are not the best depiction of audio accuracy. It's just a sample but it is better than nothing but hence my filing audio review here the Powerbeats Pro is loud enough for most people. Loud but still comfortable to me is at about 75 percent volume, there is some sound leaking occurring,  So those sitting right next to me in a very quiet room, library whatever. Can hear what you're listening to so just be a little bit cautious about that. The ear tips do sit around the ear canal but they don't sit fully inside. Most people will find that more comfortable but keep in mind that it won't give you the best passive noise isolation as other truly wireless earphones and of course a little bit more sound leaking as well. These do let in some noise as much as it leaks out so if you're in a busy place you might have to turn it up to maybe 75 percent volume to encapsulate yourself here with your own audio and kind of drone out the outside noise. Again, that's only if you're in a very busy environment.
Powerbeats Pro True Bass
Now jumping into bass. it's deep at loud volumes its rumbling. It feels like I'm wearing wired earphones at times considering how deep these actually go. If you like bass no question the Powerbeats Pro is it the Jaybird X4 run ex tees were the next closest in bass for me but Jaybird X4 offers a punchy variation or more of a bass boosted audio signature. Versus offering deep bass like the Powerbeat Pros. Now going into the mid-range, the louder you go the more basses experience that's pretty obvious but I do notice the mid-range is just ever so slightly overshadowed by bass most. Having most average consumers, I think they'll be fine with this or the tolerance level is still within reason for most consumers.  Now if you're more of a technical audio listener or if you don't like the bass then you might prefer something more has more emphasis on the vocals / mid-range something that may be a little bit more forward in that mid-range frequency. This is simply a matter of preference the high frequencies would never ear in your tingey in my opinion but if anything, that is clear or lacking actually in some resolution or detail on the top and especially that loud volumes at moderate listening levels. It's not a big deal, a little bit more detail a little bit more Sparkle up top would have been much better as for soundstage there isn't much of a wide soundstage either you get decent audio separation but nothing huge or class defining. powerbeats pro These are great with hip-hop and EDM most but not all pop songs will do well. Those favoring vocals, I would consider these. Powerbeats Pros are no question bass ear truly wireless earphones if you prefer a pair that's more so for jamming outs verses technical accuracy, the Powerbeats Pro are recommended to. At least give them a try if you highly value the better life connectivity, the ear hooks alone comfort instability. I'd go from recommended to highly recommend it as not many other are offering the core functionalities at this level. Again, I think the biggest thing for you as a consumer you have to consider if you like Basie audio or not.  check on Amazon Read the full article

Agilenano - News: The Best Wireless Earbuds of 2021
— Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed’s editors. Purchases you make through our links may earn us a commission. If you're looking for the best wireless earbuds you can buy, no matter which phone you own, you want Jabra's Elite Active 85t (available at Amazon for $199.99). They provide superb build quality, audio performance, usability, and noise canceling alongside comprehensive controls (for iPhone and Android) and a wide array of other top-flight features. This adds up to the most well-rounded buds in the business. As our sprawling list shows, however, there are a shocking amount of impressive wireless options, from Apple's indomitable AirPods Pro to more great options from Jabra, Samsung, Sony and others in a wide variety of styles and price points. We've tried out dozens of these babies, using both real-world and lab testing, and we're constantly testing new pairs to keep up with this rapidly evolving category. The rankings were extremely tight, and each pair has something to offer, so rest assured you'll find the perfect wireless earbuds below, no matter what you're into. These are the best wireless earbuds we tested ranked, in order: Jabra Elite 85t Apple AirPods Pro Jabra Elite Active 75t Sony WF-1000XM3 Panasonic RZ-S500W Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Bose QuietComfort Earbuds Samsung Galaxy Buds+ JBL Club Pro+ TWS Sony WF-SP800N Powerbeats Powerbeats Pro Google Pixel Buds Credit: Reviewed/Ryan Waniata The Jabra Elite 85t offer the best features, usability, and controls no matter which phone you choose. Best Overall Jabra Elite 85t True Wireless Jabra’s Elite 85t really have it all: smooth and balanced sound, impressive noise cancellation, comprehensive controls, a compact form factor, solid battery life, and a barrel full of other top-flight features, adding up to the best wireless earbuds around—whether you pledge your allegiance to Android or iPhone. Perhaps more than any one feature, it’s the open-style design of these earbuds that make them our favorite all-around bombers. While a more bulbous design means fit isn’t quite as secure as their Elite 75t predecessors, the Elite 85t's oval ear tips provide a proper seal without plugging up your ears. The innovative design means you won’t hear yourself chewing, walking, jogging, etc. in the same way as most earbuds, and yet music and noise canceling are intimate and effective respectively. This makes the Elite 85t direct competitors to Apple’s open-style AirPods Pro, but with more features for either side of the mobile aisle, and a more active-ready design to boot. Since they’re device agnostic, you can choose any of the major voice assistants (or none), and they offer all the controls you need (including volume control by default) for whichever mobile device you prefer. Speaking of controls, they’re customizable through Jabra’s excellent Sound+ app, allowing you to configure the buds’ two easy-push buttons how you see fit. Also customizable is noise cancelation and transparency mode, the latter of which is among the most natural-sounding you’ll hear on the market to keep you aware of your environment in style—again, a direct shot across the AirPods Pro bow. The word "natural" keeps coming up when using the Elite 85t, and it's a big key to their success. You can wear them for hours, even when you’re not listening to audio, and never miss a beat thanks to how seamlessly they transition between noise canceling and transparency mode; a few taps of the keys (even while wearing gloves) lets you slide between jamming out in solitude and striking up a conversation. Multi-point connection also makes it easy to switch between fun and work modes. As for downsides, the Elite 85t’s IPX4 water resistance rating means you can splash them but they’re not as weather-ready as their cousins, the Elite and Elite Active 75t earbuds (though they meet or beat almost all other similarly equipped competitors). As referenced above, the fit is also less stable than what you’ll get in purpose-built workout buds. There’s not much else to complain about, though, as these buds are about as well-rounded as they come. If you can afford their not-insignificant cost, you’ll be rewarded with good sound, great features, and the best usability on the market. Pros Outstanding features and design Rich, balanced sound Impressive noise canceling Cons Not as sport-friendly as other Jabra buds $199.99 from Amazon $229.99 from Best Buy $199.99 from Walmart Credit: Reviewed / Jackson Ruckar The Apple AirPods Pro are an unstoppable force, especially if you own an iPhone. Best For iPhone Apple AirPods Pro Apple's AirPods Pro take everything we love about the traditional AirPods and ramp things up a notch (or three). They sound better than all Apple earbuds before them, deliver excellent noise reduction, and add proper water-resistance (finally). What’s more, these are the first Apple earbuds with swappable silicone ear tips, making it easy for just about anyone to get a comfortable fit. While battery life is middling at 4.5 to 5 hours (Jabra's Elite 85t offer up to 7 hours without noise canceling), the pocket-friendly charging case holds multiple recharges for 24 hours total listening time. In addition, quick charging provides an hour of listening in just five minutes, so you'll rarely need to worry about dead earbuds. In our lab tests, we found the AirPods Pro’s noise cancellation was on par with pricier noise-canceling headphones, with a minimal hit to battery life. Their Transparency Mode is also among the most effective and natural-sounding we’ve experienced, allowing you to pipe in the outside world for those times you want to be aware of your surroundings. The call quality—which uses dual microphones plus digital distortion reduction—is also excellent. The design also makes them incredibly easy to pair, control, and wear. The AirPods Pro are pricey, but they offer enough of a meaningful upgrade that we think they’re worth it—especially for those who use iPhones—since they can be your go-to headphones for everyday use, long trips by train or plane, and even light workouts. It's for all these reasons the AirPods Pro are some of the most popular earbuds on the planet. Pros Active noise cancellation Silicon tips ensure a more comfortable fit Easy setup and syncing Cons Sub-par audio quality, given their price $199.99 from Amazon $249.99 from Best Buy $199.98 from Walmart $219.99 from Target Credit: Reviewed / Jackson Ruckar The Jabra Elite Active 75t are great for working out, and so much more. Best for Running Jabra Elite Active 75t The Jabra Elite Active 75t are a great set of wireless earphones for just about anyone. But they're particularly suitable for folks who spend a lot of time running or working out, thanks to their nimble design and their hearty, IP57-rated water and dust resistance, allowing you to safely rinse them off after a workout. The Elite Active 75t will net you nearly every bell and whistle you might be hoping for. You'll get everything from a finder function so you won't lose track of them to transparency mode, which allows you to hear the world around you so you can stay aware in nearly any situation. Jabra even released a firmware update that adds digital active noise cancellation to the impressive passive noise isolation, which helps make these already versatile buds all the more so. The Elite Active 75t sound decent, though their heavy, bass-forward sound signature won't be for everyone, and it might take some tinkering in the accompanying app to find an equalization setting that fits your playlist. Still, their sound performance will satisfy most casual listeners and power users alike, and it's bolstered by around 7 hours of battery life per charge (or around 5.5 hours with ANC). All in all, the Jabra Elite Active 75t are a great pick for folks looking for superb performance, durability, and a well-rounded experience. In addition, if you don't see the need for your earbuds to be fully submerged in water—and you want to save a few bucks—the Elite 75t earbuds are nearly identical to their cousins, only with a less-rugged IP55 dust/water-resistance rating. Either way, you'll be getting a great pair of durable earbuds, armed for virtually any scenario you can throw at them. Pros Durable, dunkable design Sleek and small Loaded with features Cons Sound lacks balance Fit can be tricky $149.99 from Amazon $179.99 from Best Buy $188.00 from Walmart Credit: Reviewed/Jackson Ruckar The Samsung Galaxy+ Buds are exceptionally easy on the wallet and offer impressive fit and features. Best Value Samsung Galaxy Buds+ The winning follow-up to Samsung's original Galaxy Buds, the 2020 Samsung Galaxy Buds+ check off a lot of the right boxes where true wireless headphones are concerned, starting with their light and comfy design and incredibly long playback time, making for excellent usability—which is really what true wireless earbuds are all about. While they don't sound as good or have all the features of our top picks, the Galaxy Buds+ still sound plenty good, and their price has dropped significantly from their already low MSRP, making them among the most enticing buds on our list. Key Galaxy Buds+ features include transparency mode (which Samsung calls Ambient Sound), basic water resistance, Qi wireless charging for the case, a well-appointed app, onboard volume controls, and a whopping 11 hours of max playback per charge (and up to 22 hours total with the case). That's four more hours than the max playback time of Jabra's Elite 85t, and more than double the AirPods Pro, though you'll have to give up any form of noise cancellation in the bargain. In addition, we really enjoy the Galaxy Buds+'s simple and comfortable form factor, which adds rubberized grips alongside three sizes of ear tips for a secure fit. The buds and compact charging case are also available in multiple colors to suit your style or even match your phone. While they're only IPX2 rated for water resistance, it's enough to use them for modest workouts and in drizzling rain. This is the hill we're prepared to die on: these will be a better choice for most folks than the classic AirPods, especially if you use them alongside the minimalist and intuitive Samsung Wearables app. The only major drawback is that they don't work with older phones, so check those requirements before you pull the trigger. If you don't need noise canceling, but just want something affordable and versatile, the Galaxy Buds+ are your pick. Pros Great features for the price Flexible fit Long battery life Cons Occasionally tinny treble May not work with older phones $109.99 from Amazon $149.99 from Best Buy $99.99 from Walmart $109.99 from Target Credit: Reviewed/Ryan Waniata The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds offer the most tranquil earbud experience on the market. Best Active Noise Canceling Bose QuietComfort Earbuds It will come as no surprise to Bose fans that the QuietComfort Earbuds were designed from the ground up for one thing: brilliant active noise cancellation. On that front they succeed immensely, instantly offering best-in-class canceling alongside a premium design, clear sound, and a comfy and secure fit that keeps them in place under duress. In order to get those features, however, you’ll have to deal with a hefty price tag and some compromises elsewhere in the design, which is why these buds slip down in our overall ranking. Those compromises include extra-large earbuds that weigh around 50% more than the AirPods Pro and a chunky charging case that offers only two recharges for a relatively low 18 hours of total battery between buds and case, making them tougher to take along. On the other hand, we applaud Bose for adding onboard volume control to the earbuds about a month after release via swipes up and down on the right bud. In addition, the versatile Bose Music app allows you to adjust noise cancellation levels in multiple ways, the loudness of your own voice during phone calls, and other parameters (though we would have liked some form of EQ). While we wish Bose would have thrown in a bit more for your money, what you're really paying for is world-class noise cancellation, and that's exactly what you get. Simply put, if you want the best noise cancellation in the true wireless genre, it’s Bose or bust. Pros Class leading noise canceling Comfy, secure fit Tight, present audio Cons Chunky design Case has mediocre battery $279.00 from Amazon $279.00 from Best Buy $279.00 from Walmart $279.99 from Target How We Tested Credit: Reviewed.com / TJ Donegan True wireless earbuds all come with two individual buds—no wires between them—and a charging case. The Tests For this list, we focus on several key pain points that consumers typically run into when buying both wireless and “true wireless” earbuds: battery life, ease of use, controls, wireless range, sound quality, sound isolation, and comfort. For sound quality tests, we first put our earbuds through some basic audio tests in our labs in Cambridge, MA to give us data on a few things such as max volume, passive and active noise attenuation (including active noise cancellation), and how well each earbud blocked outside noise. From there, we used all the earbuds extensively, playing a wide variety of test tracks ranging from classical to hip-hop, rock, jazz, and more. The other features were all tested in real-life situations, including sweat proofing, short- and long-term comfort, battery life, microphone quality, and connectivity over distances and through obstacles like doors and walls. Perhaps the biggest missing link in all headphone reviews is durability. It's simply impossible for us to test a single pair and come to a meaningful conclusion about how well they'll hold up over time and with regular use (and abuse). To try to get at this issue, we did note any major issues that popped up in user reviews (where available), though this didn't impact the final scoring. The truth is that wireless earbuds across the board have struggled with durability, so this is a major cause of concern for us. Since some of these models are quite new, we are reserving the right to re-evaluate our conclusions as we become aware of any major issues as time goes on. What You Should Know About Headphones You've probably seen a bunch of different headphones in your everyday life, but what you may not realize is that headphones, while they have a number of different selling points, are primarily categorized into three types: in-ear (including all earbuds), on-ear, and over-ear. Credit: Reviewed Three popular types of headphones: in-ear, on-ear, and over-ear. Knowing the basic terminology of modern headphones is the best way to estimate what you need (or want) in a pair of headphones, which will guide you towards deciding how much to spend. Usually, if you have an idea of what style you're looking for, which features you want or need, and how you'll be using your new headphones, you can start to estimate how much you want to spend. If you don’t, our list should help you figure out what you do and do not want. For example, Sony's super-popular WH-1000XM3 headphones are Bluetooth (wireless) over-ears with Adaptive Noise Canceling. If you're not sure what all that means, read on to see which pair is right for you. Style: Deciding on one of the three common form factors—in-ear, on-ear, or over-ear—should be your first step. Generally, in-ear headphones are the most portable and convenient, over-ear headphones are the most comfortable, while on-ear headphones are somewhere in between. Check out our guide to the pros and cons of each form factor. Credit: Reviewed / Betsey Goldwasser Selecting a style of headphone comes down to many factors, including comfort, portability, and stylishness. Bluetooth/wireless: Do you want wireless headphones? A pair of Bluetooth headphones will let you unplug from your source device, while a set of "true wireless" earbuds are even more minimalist, offering totally wire-free listening. If you already know you're looking for noise-canceling headphones, check out the best ones we've tested. Transparency mode: This feature goes by many names, including hearthrough mode, ambient sound mode, etc. All of these phrases refer to the same technology, which uses tiny microphones on the exterior of your headphones or earbuds to filter in sound from your environment. The purpose is to keep you aware of your surroundings, letting you play tunes while you jog or hike, while still being conscious of dangers or alerts. Not all transparency mode is created equal, though, and how a headphone’s hardware and software handle things like wind gusts can make a serious difference in the feature’s utility. Open-backed: Last but not least, this niche kind of over-ear headphone is a style that's especially preferred by people mixing and mastering audio. Unlike traditional "closed-back" headphones, open-back headphones have, literally, open backs, allowing some of the sound to escape into the room around you (and vice versa). While these headphones are primarily meant for audio professionals and audiophiles, it's worth knowing about them if only to decide if they're something you want to consider. Other Wireless Earbuds We Tested Sony WF-1000XM3 Our former pick for the Best Active Noise Canceling earbuds, Sony’s WF-1000XM3 are among the best wireless earbuds you can buy, full stop. Like their over-ear siblings the WH-1000XM3 and the newer WH-1000XM4, these fully wireless earbuds are loaded with tech, offer impressive sound, and have the ability to whisk away the outside world with some of the most powerful noise cancellation around. While their lack of water resistance make them a tough sell for gym rats, anyone who wants great sound and serious noise cancellation to complement the sheer convenience of fully wireless earbuds should consider these. Along with whisper-quiet noise canceling, the WH-1000XM3 offer solid battery life at 6 hours per charge with noise cancellation engaged, and 8 hours without it, with an extra three charges in the charging case for up to 24 hours total. In addition, Sony's powerful Headphones Connect app lets you customize a carousel of settings to make things just right for your listening habits. Perhaps best of all to value hunters, as they've hung around on the market, you can often find them on sale at a great price. With their impressive collection of features and stellar performance, the WF-1000XM3 are a fantastic option, packed with value. If you’re looking for the same mix of gorgeous sound, great features, and class-leading active noise cancellation (ANC) offered by Sony's stellar over-ear models—but in a tiny, wireless form factor—these are the earbuds for you. Pros Great sound quality Solid battery life Excellent noise canceling Cons Not water-resistant Finicky controls $178.00 from Amazon $178.00 from Best Buy $178.00 from Walmart $179.99 from Target Panasonic RZ-S500W Panasonic's RZ-S500W won our favor with a brilliant combination of great sound and top-notch noise canceling at a price that easily undercuts major competitors. Honestly, we utilize noise canceling more than any other true wireless feature as we're often wearing them for tasks like vacuuming or lawn mowing, which is why we're so taken with these relatively affordable buds. Whereas many wireless earbuds offer noise canceling as something of an afterthought, the RZ-S500W serve up powerful cancellation across frequencies for a comforting realm of sanctity from barking dogs, yelling kids, and much more. As noted, sound is also impressive, with a clear and mostly even sound signature that offers quality listening across musical genres, podcasts, and more. Panasonic’s app adds to the fun, letting you adjust everything from EQ to noise cancellation and transparency mode (AKA ambient sound mode, hearthrough mode, etc.) so you can choose exactly how much environmental sound you let in or keep out. With around 6 hours of playback per charge, the RZ-S500W sit directly in the middle of their biggest competitors in the ANC earbuds space, but at a lower price. That said, they do have a few drawbacks. For one thing, their charging case only holds two charges, meaning you’ll have to top it off more frequently than most rivals. On top of that, while we found the RZ-S500W quite comfortable, fit can be tricky due to their somewhat bulky design. Even when they're properly sealed, they tend to jostle during rigorous activities, making them a much better fit for your office (home or otherwise) than your daily jog. On the other hand, unlike Sony’s WF-1000XM3, the RZ-S500W offer IPX4 water resistance, allowing you to easily combat the elements. Add in their other generous features and the Panasonic RZ-S500W earbuds sit among our favorite earbuds to come out in 2020. We'll add that they're often on sale for far below their already low price point which, if you can snag it, makes them among the best value propositions in the space. Pros Excellent noise cancellation Clean, balanced sound Impressive feature set Cons Battery life is so-so Fit may be tricky for some $149.99 from Amazon $149.99 from B&H Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro are a shameless attempt to create a pair of earbuds just as special and impressive for Samsung phones as Apple’s AirPods are for iPhones. And the gambit worked pretty dang well. Samsung has loaded up a feature-packed pair of earbuds bespoke for the Samsung faithful that offer plenty for those outside the Samsung family, too. The big headliner for these earbuds is solid active noise cancellation, a first for Samsung’s true wireless buds if you don’t count the Galaxy Buds Live (and with ANC that weak you probably shouldn’t). But that’s just the beginning. They also offer adjustable ambient audio, which is boostable for super hearing, alongside a truckload of other popular features we expect in flagship earbuds, from the ability to use one bud at a time to a wireless charging case and a Find My Earbuds function. One particularly interesting feature is Voice detect, designed to pause ANC and engage ambient mode when you speak so you can keep in touch with those around you hands-free, though we found it can be overzealous at times. Most of the Galaxy Buds Pro’s top features will work for any phone once you download Samsung’s well-equipped Wear app. But Samsung didn’t stop there, offering a litany of extra features for the Samsung faithful, including auto-pairing, Bixby wakeup, and even a new 3D audio feature that’s saved for those with the Galaxy S21 and up. In other words, it pays to be heavily invested in Samsung’s ecosystem. Samsung does well to straddle both sides of that line, though, adding design traits everyone can enjoy such as class-leading water resistance (IPX7) and impressive, well-balanced sound that’s as good at bumping beats as it is carving out ultra-clear detail or serving up phone calls. There are some downsides, including a lack of volume control by default (you’ve got to swap out another function), a fit that can wear on the ears over time, and battery life that’s just so-so for 2021 (less than 5 hours per charge with ANC). In addition, so far we’ve found the case doesn’t charge the earbuds as quickly as advertised, meaning you’ll have to wait longer once you lose juice. That said, Samsung has created a winner here thanks to a well-rounded feature list, impressive audio performance, and a great price that make its Galaxy Buds Pro instant contenders—especially if you’re toting around a new Samsung phone. Pros Powerful, nuanced sound Plenty of features Stylish, micro-sized design Cons No separate volume Pedestrian battery life Sluggish charging $199.99 from Amazon $199.99 from Best Buy $199.99 from Target $199.99 from B&H Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Sennheiser’s new-and-improved Momentum, the Momentum 2 True Wireless offer the best sound in the category, though their amazing performance comes with a hefty price tag. First, the good stuff: The Momentum True Wireless 2 serve up a rich, dynamic listening experience regardless of genre, thanks in part to their mild (but relatively effective) active noise cancellation. In fact, they sound so good that you might find yourself discovering sonic details in songs you thought you knew like the back of your hand. Listening to music on the Momentum 2 is an altogether inviting experience, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better sounding pair of wireless earbuds of any kind in 2020. They also offer desirable features like transparency mode for environmental awareness alongside their basic active noise cancellation. Compared to the original Sennheiser Momentum, the Momentum 2 offer a vastly improved selection of touch controls on the outside of each earbud. And as a bonus, Sennheiser’s Smart Control app has also improved, making the customization experience painless and surprisingly granular, allowing you to change up the controls in any configuration. With Bluetooth 5.0, they also offer a better wireless connection overall. There are a few drawbacks should you decide to shell out the dough for a pair. For one thing, while the Momentum 2 True Wireless offer better battery life than their predecessor, they top out at around seven hours (or a little over five with noise cancellation enabled), which is better than Apple's AirPods Pro, but less than we'd like for their price point. In addition, the Momentum 2 aren’t quite as durable as some of the more affordable true wireless earbuds we’ve tested, and while they're relatively easy to use, the interface isn't quite as dead-simple as Apple's AirPods Pro. Still, if you value high-quality sound first and foremost, and you've got the means, Sennheiser's Momentum 2 are a fantastic pick. They’re better than their predecessor and stand toe-to-toe with our top picks in a wide range of categories. Pros Glorious sound Noise cancellation Customizable controls Cons Battery could still be better Not as rugged as we'd like $249.98 from Amazon $299.98 from Best Buy $249.95 from Walmart $299.95 from B&H Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Klipsch’s second generation of true wireless earbuds are just as stylish as the company’s first pair, the original T5, but with some impressive upgrades. What hasn’t changed here is the sound, which is among the best in the category. The T5 II offer clear, detailed sound that’s as dynamic as it is engaging, alongside crystal clear phone calls. The new buds offer plenty of handy features such as comprehensive controls (including onboard volume control), a light and comfy fit, top-notch dust and water resistance (IP67), and a Zippo-like metallic case that's as robust as they come but still fits perfectly in your pocket. There are a few downsides, of course (otherwise they’d be our top pick, right?). Those include a lack of some sought after features like active noise cancellation and a wireless charging case. In addition, the controls can be finicky. That said, these earbuds won our hearts with a simple and stylish design that's easy to take along, and some of the best sound in the genre. If sound is your top concern, and you don’t want to spring for the much pricier Sennheiser Momentum 2, you’ll want to give the T5 II a long look. Pros Clear, vividly detailed sound Great style, fit, and finish Good battery life Cons Some controls are finicky Missing some features $199.00 from Amazon $199.00 from Best Buy $199.00 from Walmart $199.00 from B&H JBL Club Pro+ TWS The Club Pro+ TWS mark JBL's most serious foray into the true wireless space. While these aren't exactly revolutionary, JBL does deserve kudos for how many of the right boxes the Club Pro+ TWS check off. At the end of the day, however, while they're a jack of all trades, they also fall a bit short of mastery. You'll find an agreeable list of features here, including robust sound quality, decent noise canceling, standard battery life at around 6 hours per charge, and ample customizability thanks to JBL's dedicated My Headphones app. We also found ourselves impressed with the hyper-compact design of the charging case—it's small enough to fit right in the palm of your hand. And while multiple ear tip options, an IPX4 rating, and USB-C quick charging don't exactly make for exciting extras, it's good to see JBL taking the proper cues from its forebears in the true wireless space. For what you're paying, the Club Pro+ TWS are, simply put, a solid product. But that's also their weakness: they aren't the best-sounding buds on the list, nor do they cancel noise as effectively as competitors like Bose and Sony. Yet they stand head and shoulders above many options in this price range, and are flexible enough in terms of potential use cases that the average listener won't have any complaints. In many ways, this lack of exaggerated ability is what gives the Club Pro+ their attractively mid-range price point, making them potentially a great fit for listeners who want to save money without sacrificing features. Sony has been on a roll in the true wireless space lately. Whether it's the company’s value-packed, bass-thumping WF-XB700 or the noise-squashing WF-1000XM3, Sony has proven its formula is working. The fact that some of these pairs have slipped down a few notches in our rankings in recent months is more a testament to the rabid competition in the space than anything inherently wrong with these buds. The WF-SP800N are formidable earbuds in their own right, offering an embarrassment of features for their price point, along with impressive sound, a strong and stable connection, and a sporty, water-resistant design—something the flagship WF-1000XM3 buds don’t have. Packing everything from light noise cancellation and transparency mode to automatic audio adjustment and Bluetooth 5.0, the SP800N are impressively well-appointed for their price point—especially since you can often find them on sale. They're also highly adjustable thanks to Sony's Headphones Connect app, including a five-band EQ with a separate bass control so you can easily pull back (or ramp up) their booming "Extra Bass" feature. As for negatives, the SP800N’s noise cancelation is nothing to write home about, the buds are fairly bulky, and the charging case stores only one extra charge, though their 9 hours of playback per charge makes this more palatable. In addition, we found a tear in one of the silicone ear fins after just a few days (though, as we've yet to hear about other reviewers running into this issue, we're hoping it was just a rogue bad fin). Because of their fins, it can also be a pain to put them in and take them out. For more info, check out our full review of the WF-SP800N. Pros Good sound quality Sleek design Highly customizable Cons No on-set volume controls So-so noise canceling $169.99 from Best Buy $199.95 from B&H Beats Powerbeats (4th Gen) The 4th-gen Beats Powerbeats are basically the same headphones as the Powerbeats Pro—they simply aren't "true wireless," featuring a small cable that runs between the two buds and behind your neck. However, what you're sacrificing by way of true wireless freedom, you're making up for in price. Outside of the wire situation, Powerbeats fans will be very glad to know that the connected Powerbeats sound just as good as the "Pro" model, and offer similar levels of flexibility and style (i.e., they come in a bunch of colors). Like other Beats headphones, their sound profile is still bass-forward, but it’s thankfully restrained here for excellent clarity. As you’d expect for fitness headphones, the Powerbeats are also sweat- and water-resistant so you won’t have to worry about going for the gusto, while a three-button control system present on both earbuds makes it easy to use them with just one earbud at a time. They also offer shockingly good connection quality that outdoes their siblings, as well as any other true wireless earbuds we've ever tried. Seriously, they've got such good range you may actually forget where you put your phone. These are an excellent addition if you've been after the workout-ready, sound-forward style of the original Powerbeats Pro but don't want to shell out that much cash. Heck, if you don't mind the addition of one little wire, there's really no reason not to buy these instead. Pros Incredible wireless range Clear, powerful sound Workout ready Cons No transparency mode Ear hooks can get uncomfortable $119.00 from Walmart $119.00 from B&H Beats by Dre Powerbeats Pro Priced similarly to Apple's AirPods Pro, the Beats Powerbeats Pro are impressive true wireless earphones in their own right. Though they've lost some luster in recent years with heated competiton, they offer impressive playback time per charge, great sound, and a durable, sporty design. They're relatively stylish (as you might expect from Beats), available in ivory, black, navy, or moss colors, and feature adjustable ear hooks to help keep them in your ears during just about any workout. Like the Powerbeats, they offer great water resistance and vastly improved sound quality over previous Beats earbuds, making them a good choice for general use, though their ear-hook design can get uncomfortable over time. Like virtually all true wireless earphones, they come with a pocketable charging case (thanks to their ear hooks, it’s a lot larger than most), but their impressive 9 hours of battery life per charge allows you to leave the case behind. The Powerbeats Pro are less minimalist than Apple's AirPods, and come at a premium price point—especially for headphones that don’t include active noise cancellation or even any form of transparency mode, which makes them less-than-ideal for jogging in busy areas. Because of their Apple-first design, they're also not as good an option if you own an Android phone. Their price point has also dropped a fair bit over time, though, and if you’re looking for fitness first, the top Beats earbuds are a fine choice, especially if you find them on a good sale. Pros Water-resistant Available in a number of colors Long battery life Cons Bass-forward sound not for everyone Ear hooks can be uncomfortable $199.95 from Amazon $198.00 from Walmart $199.99 from Target $199.95 from B&H Google Pixel Buds (2020) Google’s first Pixel Buds were kind of a mess. They were tethered by an odd cable, packed in a terrible case, and had a fit as awkward as their sound. With a full overhaul for 2020, the new Pixel Buds are leaps and bounds above their predecessor, and that starts with their new minimalist design. Nimble, and bearing a built-in rubberized wing to keep them in place and flush with your ears, the 2020 Pixel Buds are both comfy and stylish. The egg-shaped charging case is equally stylish, with a pocket-ready form factor, wireless charging, and a unique look that takes cues from Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro, yet stands on its own. The Pixel Buds also offer clear sound—though the midrange and bass could definitely use some more oomph—and features like Find My Earbuds via the app, and even voice wake up for Google Assistant. There are reasons the Pixel Buds aren’t higher on this list, however. While the feature set isn’t exactly austere, the Buds leave out desirable features like Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode, instead going with Adaptive Sound, Google’s answer to noise control. Designed to turn the earbuds up when you’re in a busy area, Adaptive Sound didn't impress in testing, offering modest adjustment that was only noticeable when blasting extremely loud noises nearby. The earbuds have also dealt with a lot of bugs, including spotty call quality, occasional swapping of the stereo image and, reported connectivity troubles. This latter issue may be due to the Pixel Buds’ small size (and therefore small antennas) but it’s not something we expect in earbuds at this price point. Not for nothing, while their 5 hours of battery playback (plus 20 in the case) is fine, it’s also exactly what Apple offered in its original AirPods four years ago, and nearly all newer buds at this price offer more playback time. That said, if you love the Pixel Buds’ design (which we do) and don’t mind throwing the dice on some occasional bugs and connectivity issues, they’re a stylish and comfortable way to go, and still offer better sound and features than Apple’s standard Airpods. Pros Sleek and compact design Comfy fit Clean, effervescent sound Cons Slightly buggy performance No transparency mode Poor call quality $179.99 from Best Buy $179.00 from Walmart $179.99 from Target $179.00 from B&H Additional Wireless Earbuds Options The original Apple AirPods are still the same great, easy-to-use option they've been for years, and that's exactly why they didn't make our ranked list. Frankly you can do a lot better for sound, features, and durability for your money these days, but they're still a good buy if you really want Apple's signature white buds and don't want to pay up. Get Apple's AirPods from Amazon Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live are an intriguing concept that never quite took off with us, mainly because the fit just never worked and their feature set is less than expected for the price. That said, they look cool and have decent sound quality so if you think the fit works for you they could be worth a try. Gest Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live from Amazon Sony's WF-XB700 are perfectly respectable earbuds that simply didn't have what it takes to make our top picks due to a somewhat awkward design and a bass-first profile. That said, they're a great price (especially on sale) and could be a fantastic fit for those looking for a name brand on a budget. Get the Sony WF-XB700 from Amazon Jabra's Elite Active 65t were among the first quality true wireless earbuds to offer something for nearly everyone, whether you're more comfortable at the gym or lounging in your backyard. They've been outdone by sleeker, smaller options over the years, but their price has also dropped accordingly. Get Jabra's Elite Active 65t from Amazon Bose'sSoundsport Free are getting long in the tooth and offer a bulbous fit, but they do provide fantastic sound. If you can get them on a good sale, they may be worth the investment. Get the Bose SoundSport Free from Amazon For those serious about sound, Shure's SE215 present a unique way to go wireless (or wired thanks to their breakaway design) without sacrificing sound quality, allowing you to swap for a wired or wireless cable. The real headline? These are some of the best-sounding earbuds at their price point. Get the Shure SE215 from Amazon The Phiaton Curve BT 120 NC headphones offer an impressive collection of features for their price point. The Curve boasts quick charging, very sturdy materials, and a vibrating neckband design that
