My next post in support of Ukraine is:
Next site, the city of Boryslav (Борислав) in Lviv Oblast. The city was first mentioned in writings back in 1387, but there have been people living in the area since the Bronze Age. There's remains of a pagan shrine from the 1st millennium BC nearby with around 270 petroglyphs that have solar symbols on them of a pre-Christian solar deity. During Kyivan Rus times, there was a fortress called Tustan on the site of the modern city. The city later became part of different kingdoms, first the Kingdom of Poland, then Austria. After WWI, it became part of the West Ukrainian People's Republic, but then after the Polish-Ukrainian War, it again became part of Poland. It was annexed by the soviet union in 1939 under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Then, in 1941, it was occupied by the Nazis. After WWII, it again became part of the soviet union. The area actually produces oil and a substance known as ozokerite. It's a type of natural mineral wax or paraffin and is used in things like electrical insulators and candles. (Дякую, Wikipedia. I've never heard of that substance before.)

On Soviet Holmes
This summer, my boyfriend and I strolled through the beautiful downtown district of Kyiv when a memorial tablet on a quite ordinarily looking panel house caught our eye: the People's Artist of Ukraine Boryslav Brondukov used to live here. We knew this actor from the landmark Ukrainian films of the Soviet era. Internationally, though, he is remembered for portraying inspector Lestrade in Soviet Sherlock Holmes. Not the most beloved Lestrade, but a formidable Lestrade nonetheless.
Since our walk, a couple of russian missiles landed in dangerous proximity to this spot, bringing death and destruction to the city where Brondukov lived and worked. His very apartment is probably subject to power and water shortages like mine or anyone else's in Kyiv. It reminds me of the Soviet or, as some might call it, russian Sherlock Holmes adaptation and the dark context behind its cast and production. It might seem that such an innocent series has nothing to do with russian unprovoked aggression against Ukraine, but, sadly, it does.
Firstly, another actor voices Brondukov, the Lestrade, in the final cut of the Soviet Holmes films. The director Igor Maslennikov explained this decision by Brondukov's "thick Ukrainian accent", which, in his opinion, would be unworthy of a respectable London policeman. In the director's eyes, this accent was considered provincial and something any russian speaking career professional would try to disguise.
Also, the Baker Street scenes of the series were filmed in Riga, the capital of Latvia, the Baltic country, which suffered greatly under the Soviet occupation until the dissolution of the USSR. The Soviet Union denied independence and repressed the population of Latvia, yet never hesitated to exploit it for fine architecture.
Still, it would not be a big deal for anything filmed in the 80s if not for the persona of Vasiliy Livanov, the Holmes himself, who has been a consistent supporter of putin and endorsed the illegal occupation of Ukrainian territories back in 2014. In 2022, he, among other russian actors, signed an open letter in support of the war against Ukraine (btw, you can google it in English).
Recognizing that the creator of the beloved Holmes persona, the face of the entire series, is a vicious genocide supporter might be challenging to say the least. It would impair the sentimental value one might attach to the Soviet Holmes adaptation, which is, admittedly, a highly entertaining and meticulously executed one. You will hardly do any harm simply by watching Soviet Holmes on YouTube, provided that this platform has disabled monetization for russian channels. Yet it is morally wrong to entirely overlook the warmongering and genocide support for the sake of entertainment.
Context is essential. Know the context.

It turns out that October 14 was the anniversary of the song "I want to live" by the incredibly talented Boryslav So I want to once again separately post the art that I drew for this song. Now, of course, it is officially known that the song is about Astarion. But it was clear right away. I remember what a storm of emotions this composition caused in me. With this art, I really wanted to convey those bittersweet feelings.

Retired Ukrainian Army Major Igor Lapin said in an interview with former Ukrainian parliament deputy Boryslav Bereza that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be defeated in the Kursk region if they decide to hold their positions. Ukraine’s expected defeat comes despite the involvement of the intelligence services of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Poland in the invasion of the Kursk region.
Some people thought that now we would get somewhere and start entrenching ourselves. Well, I have already said, from the point of view of a special forces officer, that as soon as the front becomes static, that will be the end of us,” Lapin said.
He noted that the Russian military has an advantage in terms of air force, artillery, and troop numbers. In his opinion, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, is responsible for the attack on the Kursk region.
According to the retired major, Ukrainian troops cannot “add 300 km to the defence line and try to hold back the pressure of Russian troops,” thus, he believes that a static front line creates problems for Ukraine.

My little back stories of the friendship and (platonic)relationship.
When i was 11.I was the exchange student who used to travel around the world with a few parts of the countries.I absolutely love Ukraine so much, even i used to be Ukrainian to speak Russian - my native and first language. Then i understand Ukrainian(language) and English.I really always liked to talk to everyone. But the thing is:I was diagnosed with an Autism and speech development. When i exchanged to a new school - special international school however.I was really nervous at first and was scared if they do something bad to me.Most of the teachers are not that bad,but sometimes seeing me like i was completely hurt and embarrassed of the appearance since 5th grade. When i first time met my first teacher,my english teacher who is a female and she's really sweet and friendly and she sees me like an innocent angel to her opinion.I started to like her a lot to be my favourite English teacher at that time. When i first time saw my own classroom. The room was not that small for some shelves(clothes, books and items),furnitures, desks(teachers and students),blackboard, etc. When i first time came there with my English teacher and my mom,i got caught some of the other classmates who used to study there or who was transferred from another city. Some of the classmates. There are 10 boys and one girl who looks much taller than me and she has a nice outfit with a dress.I sometimes gets really nervous to speak and super quiet not able saying to them hi first.I wasn't confident enough to introducing myself,so my english teacher - Miss Grytsulyak(in Ukrainian transcription) did it for me.
(Miss Grytsulyak)"Dear student!! Attention please!!Meet your new friend and a new student.Angelina Allexeevna Lichman and she's 11 years old,she is a transferred student from the 4th grade. Please, give her a bit of an attention and she will be grateful!!!"
To be honest,i really wanted attention. At first,i really wanted fully, but in the other side, was a little ignoring it in the future. As my teacher and my mom was signing up for study.I felt a tap on my shoulder and i looked at the other side to see the same girls with the same height as me.At first, she was very friendly girl to the other friends, but inside, she looks really sweet having long brown hair who has the same as mine, but eyes are different.
Tonya:H-h-h-hi,n-n-n-n-nnew girl.Yo-o-ou look really cool a-a-a-and really c-c-cute.Wanna b-b-b-be fr-r-ri-riends? - she stutters asking me to be friend.
Cute!?What!!She called me cute!!!!I was like feel a heat on my cheek and i was blushing of calling me cute.Is it in a friend way??Or sexually way????I nervously agreed to be her friend. At first,i was really excited to have friends for so long.As she grabbed my hand and lead me to meet other friends. Then i noticed 3 boys who was a bit around my age.The boys with a messy hair with different hairlines and found out that was twins and the other boy is look like a softie. The names of the three boys are Boryslav(a.k.a Boris),Nasar & Rodion. The other boys are Ruslan,Igor,Yuri(boy name),Kostya,Eugen,Daniel(Danya) and Vladyslav. They were getting really busy to talk to us and got distracted by playing on their phone.I was really curious and wanted to see what are they playing. When i see the game and was really cool one for boys apps of them. Some of the boys are very tall, like a giraffe.Or a little short, because of the tall height from the age.Well, the same as age as mine and not the same as mine and who was got almost older, but a year ago. Then i was more confident and decided to become the boys friends and Tonya as well.Me and Tonya are like besties for a long time. She always stutters because of the diagnosis as i found out myself.Whenever she speaks, she was like gonna pause and continue her words.I really was scared to see the feeling because she was really attracted into her, because of the looks she has. When i was home and we did facetime and having fun talking to eachother.I really scared to tell my feelings to a girl, like Tonya that i love girls for no reason. Is it because she called me cute for no reason.Maybe i just hide it before that.
Somewhere a year later in Autumn,in 6th grade. As i was writing some words on the blackboard since i have glasses because of Myopia which is I can't see from a far a little blurry and i only can see only close. When i was minding my business at break time,a boy with a very nice hairstyle and wanted me to give me a very cute gift and his name is Ilya.
"Hi Angela, how are you doing today?" - he asked me wondering the day.
"Oh, it's nothing much.I just wanted to mind my business with drawing because i have nothing to do anyway" - i answered glancing at him.
"That's good to hear that" - he excitedly exclaimed.
Then i noticed something in his hand hidden behind his back.I was really curious about it.I asked him what is this a gift from behind, but he resisted to not tell about it in a rush. Then i didn't have a choice and turned back to my own thing as he glances at me blushing and i didn't noticed it.As i was continued it and finishing it,i noticed the same gift from Ilya and sees him sitting with my other boy best friends.I peaked at the gift and found out that was a very cute earring of crystal.I was really loved this gift from him. Then i found a note.I grabbed a note and read it.
"Dear Angelina,in the beginning when you first time came here to our special international school a year ago since 1st of September in the first call.In my opinion,i was like having my first love at first sight of your first appearance in my life.I really have a crush on you for a long time and we've been friends for a year and gotten ready for another year.I was really scared to show my feelings because you weren't ready for it.I really thought that you were ready to have a relationship in romantically.Whenever we are hanging out,i was really felt really comfortable.I really wanted you to be my girlfriend.
Sincerely,Ilya.
P.s Meet me at the changing room"
I was really surprised by his letter for me from him.Maybe i have a little crush on him back, but i don't feel like it in a relationship. So i hide the letter on my album.
After school,i went to the changing room where he was standing in our closets where are the jackets and boots were hanging.I went to his spot.
"Hi Angelina,i was really have something important to tell you something" - he said almost feeling serious.
"Okay but be quick.I was in a hurry at home" - i replied with a little rush.
He told me something that make me get really curious and he said that i should go a little closer to him. Then said i should close my eyes.So as i did and as he was going to leaned me into a kiss, but i feel rushed already. As he was going to kiss me,i stopped him with an excuse that made him friendzoned.
"Oh my god, I'm in a hurry. And about the earring is quiet cute. But about the note.....I'm sorry Ilya..." - i paused turning into his face - "But i wasn't ready for an early relationship right now.I really loved to be good as friends(platonically) and i see you as my brother to me and i didn't really want to ruin our friendship between us because you love me as a bf and gf,but i don't feel in a relationship.I really didn't want to hurt your feelings and get friendzoned by me,because....i wasn't into it right now.I hope you'll understand that".
He seems really hurt of what i just said.I really wished to have a relationship, but it's too early to do this now.So he replied that he is fine with it and accepted it.When i wore my boots.I hugged him before i leave the school.I said thanks for the earring to him and i quickly went off leaving him behind.
When i was at home,i started thinking of something that my soul can't get of my mind of it.I was super scared and confused right now.God!!!Help me!!! I was slowly having a crush on my boy best friend, but i was feeling attracted into girls.Am i hallucinating or something????Or am i a bisexual!!Are they gonna leave me because i am not straight!!!!!!Omg,i was super confused and stressed at this point.I really didn't want to hurt Ilya's feelings and show Tonya's feelings in front of her.I was also feel little scared to lose my classmates by telling my friends that i wasn't straight.I really wished to have a support to comfort.
In 7th grade, around winter. When i was like going home. The road is very icy and slippery. As i was almost at home,i slipped and i feel the pain on my left elbow.I feel like i was almost got, like a bruise, but it's actually i broke my elbow bone and couldn't able to move my arm.I skipped school around 3 weeks before my elbow bone recovered it up and able to move completely.
As i was back to school,Vlad was really worried sick because i wasn't school at the moment.I reassured him that i wasn't feeling well because i broke my elbow and need to recover it up.He was super worried for not seeing me again and i keep saying him once again and again. Some of the teachers didn't know why i was absent at school for a few weeks and skipped all the time.
In the end of the 10th grade in February.Me and my parents decided to live in Germany for i don't know how long why the war between Russia and Ukraine started around 5:24 a.m in the morning at that moment.I was really scared of being killed by a drones and recharging rockets.I always wanted to escape this nightmare and live in peace in Germany. The problem was before going to the Poland,my dad got an issues for the adult men have a obey from military in Ukraine. My dad really didn't want to stay in the military for our own safety, for our Ukrainian people and i obviously didn't want that Ukrainian people died in the dangerous and serious war and it left me and my mom only.In another midnight as me and my mom finally at Poland,we stayed at the station and finding a place to stay for the night and we found a guy and took us to a very nice and cozy hotel. The room was a little small. They also have bathtub, twin beds and a TV hanging on the wall along with a remote. In the next day,we finally got a ticket to the Berlin, taking us to a very long ride trip.
A few more hours later,we we're finally in Berlin. Then i met one of other Ukrainian of my step-parent's friends and one of the uncles and taking then to my step-parents for staying over until not having our own house with separate rooms.Me and my parents have got some Ukrainian documents/passports, certificates(diagnosis and birth) when i finished the final school study and saying a long goodbye to my special international school,my classroom-teacher,other teachers and my best friends and now i waa forgetting Ilya's confession of falling in love with me and lost attraction into girls for growing up.But i realized that i already feel bisexual at that moment. In the beginning,i was normally straight since i was 11(in the beginning).I really wished to have someone who was really had feelings once, but i was completely confused and lost.Maybe my parents also didn't noticed that i am bisexual. They only see me as straight girl grown-up woman who needs to marry me anytime, boys only.I really don't feel comfortable to find my first love at this moment.
And now,i decided to move on and have my own regeneration of my origin life before the future myself.
When i was trying to get my mind of it by finding some friends so i can chat and talk to.As i have got my Tumblr once and i then decided to make some posts of some cool design, which is Rosie(a.k.a @innocent-angel-girl ) - my first best friend.I always feel really attractive to her being a friend, but i really didn't understand and scared it to show my feelings for making anyone feel uncomfortable and awkward.I always hide the feelings of it,but i wasn't sure if she is ready or not.I sometimes really understand her decision, respect, opinion, etc. The more i wait, the more and the merrier i wait for the choice.I will always wait anytime if she's feel like it or confident.I sometimes understand that some people didn't wanted to show it because they felt insecure, immature and loss confidence. Moreover,i sometimes really wished to have a first and true secret love for me and it's hard to approve or denying it.And that is it why i found my own confusing sexuality with friendship/relationship and friend-zone.
Here are the photos from the long times:

I wish I knew which type of strike is meant. A missile strike, or a special ops strike, or an invasive strike. I hope for an invasion of Belarus.

Who is he.
Ben Bernanke
14th Chair of Federal Reserve
Ben Shalom Bernanke (/bərˈnæŋki/ bər-NANG-kee; born December 13, 1953) is an American economist at the Brookings Institution who served two terms as the 14th Chair of the Federal Reserve, from 2006 to 2014. During his tenure as chair, Bernanke oversaw the Federal Reserve's response to the late-2000s financial crisis, for which he was named the 2009 Time Person of the Year. Before becoming Federal Reserve chair, Bernanke was a tenured professor at Princeton University and chaired the department of economics there from 1996 to September 2002, when he went on public service leave.
Quick Facts 14th Chair of the Federal Reserve, President ...
From August 5, 2002, until June 21, 2005, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, proposed the Bernanke Doctrine, and first discussed "the Great Moderation" — the theory that traditional business cycles have declined in volatility in recent decades through structural changes that have occurred in the international economy, particularly increases in the economic stability of developing nations, diminishing the influence of macroeconomic (monetary and fiscal) policy.
Bernanke then served as chairman of President George W. Bush's Council of Economic Advisers before President Bush nominated him to succeed Alan Greenspan as chairman of the United States Federal Reserve. His first term began February 1, 2006. Bernanke was confirmed for a second term as chairman on January 28, 2010, after being renominated by President Barack Obama, who later referred to him as "the epitome of calm." His second term ended January 31, 2014, when he was succeeded by Janet Yellen on February 3, 2014.
Bernanke wrote about his time as chairman of the Federal Reserve in his 2015 book, The Courage to Act, in which he revealed that the world's economy came close to collapse in 2007 and 2008. Bernanke asserts that it was only the novel efforts of the Fed (cooperating with other agencies and agencies of foreign governments) that prevented an economic catastrophe greater than the Great Depression.
Family and childhood
Bernanke was born in Augusta, Georgia, and was raised on East Jefferson Street in Dillon, South Carolina. His father Philip was a pharmacist and part-time theater manager. His mother Edna was an elementary school teacher. Bernanke has two younger siblings. His brother, Seth, is a lawyer in Charlotte, North Carolina. His sister, Sharon, is a longtime administrator at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
The Bernankes were one of the few Jewish families in Dillon and attended Ohav Shalom, a local synagogue; Bernanke learned Hebrew as a child from his maternal grandfather, Harold Friedman, a professional hazzan (service leader), shochet, and Hebrew teacher. Bernanke's father and uncle owned and managed a drugstore they purchased from Bernanke's paternal grandfather, Jonas Bernanke.
Jonas Bernanke was born in Boryslav, Austria-Hungary (today part of Ukraine), on January 23, 1891. He immigrated to the United States from Przemyśl, Poland, and arrived at Ellis Island, aged 30, on June 30, 1921, with his wife Pauline, aged 25. On the ship's manifest, Jonas's occupation is listed as "clerk" and Pauline's as "doctor med".
The family moved to Dillon from New York in the 1940s. Bernanke's mother gave up her job as a schoolteacher when her son was born and worked at the family drugstore. Ben Bernanke also worked there sometimes.
Young adult
As a teenager, Bernanke worked construction on a hospital and waited tables at a restaurant at nearby South of the Border, a roadside attraction, amusement park and fireworks retailer, in his hometown of Dillon, before leaving for college. To support himself throughout college, he continued to work during the summers at South of the Border.
Religion
As a teenager in the 1960s, Bernanke would help roll the Torah scrolls in his local synagogue. Although he keeps his beliefs private, his friend Mark Gertler, chairman of New York University's economics department, says they are "embedded in who he (Bernanke) is." Once Bernanke was at Harvard for his freshman year, Fellow Dillon native Kenneth Manning took him to Brookline for Rosh Hashanah services.
Education
Bernanke was educated at East Elementary, J.V. Martin Junior High, and Dillon High School, where he was class valedictorian and played saxophone in the marching band. Since Dillon High School did not offer calculus at the time, Bernanke taught it to himself. Bernanke scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT and was a National Merit Scholar. He also was a contestant in the 1965 National Spelling Bee.
Bernanke attended Harvard College in 1971, where he lived in Winthrop House, as did the future CEO of Goldman Sachs, Lloyd Blankfein, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with an A.B. degree, and later with an A.M. in economics summa cum laude in 1975. He received a Ph.D. degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979 after completing and defending his dissertation, Long-Term Commitments, Dynamic Optimization, and the Business Cycle. Bernanke's thesis adviser was the future governor of the Bank of Israel, Stanley Fischer, and his readers included Irwin S. Bernstein, Rüdiger Dornbusch, Robert Solow, and Peter Diamond of MIT and Dale Jorgenson of Harvard.
Personal life
Ben and Anna Bernanke
Bernanke met his wife, Anna, a schoolteacher, on a blind date. She was a student at Wellesley College, and he was in graduate school at MIT.[citation needed] The Bernankes have two children, Joel and Alyssa. He is an ardent fan of the Washington Nationals baseball team, and frequently attends games at Nationals Park.
When Bernanke left Stanford to accept a position at Princeton, he and his family moved to Montgomery Township, New Jersey, in 1985, where Bernanke's children attended the local public schools. Bernanke served for six years as a member of the board of education of the Montgomery Township School District.
In 2009, The Wall Street Journal reported that Bernanke was a victim of identity theft, a spreading crime the Federal Reserve has for years issued warnings about.
Academic and government career (1979–2006)
Bernanke meeting with United States President Barack Obama.
Bernanke taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business from 1979 until 1985, was a visiting professor at New York University and went on to become a tenured professor at Princeton University in the Department of Economics. He chaired that department from 1996 until September 2002, when he went on public service leave. He resigned his position at Princeton July 1, 2005.
Bernanke served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 2002 to 2005. In one of his first speeches as a Governor, entitled "Deflation: Making Sure It Doesn't Happen Here", he outlined what has been referred to as the Bernanke Doctrine.
As a member of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System on February 20, 2004, Bernanke gave a speech in which he postulated that we are in a new era called the Great Moderation, where modern macroeconomic policy has decreased the volatility of the business cycle to the point that it should no longer be a central issue in economics.
In June 2005, Bernanke was named chairman of President George W. Bush's Council of Economic Advisers, and resigned as Fed Governor. The appointment was largely viewed as a test run to ascertain if Bernanke could be Bush's pick to succeed Greenspan as Fed chairman the next year. He held the post until January 2006.
Chairman of the United States Federal Reserve
Bernanke testifying before the House Financial Services Committee responding to a question on February 10, 2009.
On February 1, 2006, Bernanke began a fourteen-year term as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and a four-year term as chairman (after having been nominated by President Bush in late 2005). By virtue of the chairmanship, he sat on the Financial Stability Oversight Board that oversees the Troubled Asset Relief Program. He also served as chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System's principal monetary policy making body.
His first months as chairman of the Federal Reserve System were marked by difficulties communicating with the media. An advocate of more transparent Fed policy and clearer statements than Greenspan had made, he had to back away from his initial idea of stating clearer inflation goals as such statements tended to affect the stock market. Maria Bartiromo disclosed on CNBC comments from their private conversation at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. She reported that Bernanke said investors had misinterpreted his comments as indicating that he was "dovish" on inflation. He was sharply criticized for making public statements about Fed direction, which he said was a "lapse in judgment."

Further information: Financial crisis of 2007–08
As the Great Recession deepened, Bernanke oversaw some unorthodox measures. Under his guidance, the Fed lowered its funds interest rate from 5.25% to 0.0% within less than a year. When this was considered insufficient to abate the liquidity crisis, the Fed initiated quantitative easing, creating $1.3 trillion from November 2008 to June 2010 and using the created money to buy financial assets from banks and from the government.
Second term
Bernanke answers questions in 2013 at FOMC press conference
On August 25, 2009, President Obama announced he would nominate Bernanke to a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. In a short statement on Martha's Vineyard, with Bernanke standing at his side, Obama said Bernanke's background, temperament, courage and creativity helped to prevent another Great Depression in 2008.
