I couldn’t find a list of all the episodes where Kakashi made an appearance in Boruto: NNG so I decided to make my own. Not sure how many people still care about Boruto: NNG, hopefully it’ll save people the headache that I had scouring through 293 episodes just for this retired man

Backstory:

In this story a few cannon things have changed. Han, the jinchuuriki of the five tails Kukou, was mistakenly attacked by Suna ninjas during a time of extreme tension between Sunagakure and Iwagakure. While he was able to fight them off, Han was injured enough that the Gobi was able to break free from It's imprisonment and destroy some parts of Iwa and Suna.

The Gobi was recaptured by Iwa and hastily sealed inside a one year old Yura, who is also Han's nephew. As his mother and father quickly found out, because of the Gobi sealed inside of him Yura's body produced a lot of steam at random and burned whoever it touched. Because of this, Yura was taken away from his family and raised by Iwa ninja.

He was constantly trained as a child to become an Iwa weapon and eventually started going to the academy where he graduated at the age of 10. Even as a Gennin, Yura and his team were often tasked with more difficult missions, (something that his teammates disliked him for) and eventually made a name for himself as "Yura of the boiling Rock".

When it came time for the Chuunin exams, Yura was pushed into saying yes, however he did not pass because he was afraid of hurting people with the Gobi's power. He was put under more aggressive training for another year, and during that time he made his first contact with the Gobi after falling asleep under the light of the full moon. The Gobi was ramming itself against the cage it was held in and requested that Yura let it out. Yura (who was terrified mind you) said that he didn't know how and could get into trouble, the Gobi, who was surprisingly polite for a taled beast, spoke of it's distaste for humans and then kicked Ren out of the mind space. Ren was left confused by this encounter, but mentioned it to no one in fear of being labeled as more of a monster then they all though he was.

Yura was able to change the random intervals of steam into a type of defense (however he still produces steam uncontrollably when feeling a large emotion), and soon after came the second Chuunin exams that took place in Konohagakure. Once again, Yura was pushed towards going, however he was put on a different team with more experienced ninja.

The Chuunin exams go off the same as they do in cannon with the exception of Yura and his teammate Towa in the final round. However when the time came for the invasion Yura was forced to leave in case ether Yura got severely hurt and accidentally released the Gobi or it's chakra, or if the Gobi's chakra reacted negatively to the Ichibi's.

It is later revealed that Yura made it to chuunin level. During the two year time skip, after Gaara becomes the Kazekage he sets up a meeting with the Tsuchikage and members of Han's family to give a formal apology for the attack on Han that led to the partial destruction of both their villages. Yura finally finds out about his family and bonds with Gaara over them both being Jinchuuriki and trained as weapons.

Soon after, Yura leaves Iwagakura to go find Roshi, the jinchuuriki of the Yonbi who left to better understand and control the power of his beast. During his time away, Yura starts talking to the Gobi more and more, eventually learning that it's name is Kokuo and they learn how to tolerate each other. It is also noted that after the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Yura moves from Iwagakure to Sunagakure because of all the bad memories he has associated with his former village (even if he dislikes the desert heat, it gets very cold at night so it's tolerable)

Extra info:

(1) when Yura gets embarrassed, steam will literally come out of his ears.

(2) although he has a water and fire affinity, Yura knows very little water or fire jutsu because of Iwagakure's earth centric jutsu. Instead, he uses a lot of earth Release and boil Release

(3) dispite the fact that the steam that comes off of Yura's body burns others, Yura himself is never bothered by it

(4) while Yura is never burned by his steam, his body is still much warmer then normal people. This makes traveling to hot places very difficult as he overheats easily

(5) Yura is unable to wear certain clothing because the steam coming off his body will blow them up like a balloon

(6) Yura also can't wear metal if it's touching his skin as the steam will heat it up and burn him. This is why he wears thick bandages instead of mesh armor.

(7) much like how Naruto gains some of the Kyuubi's traits when using it's chakra, Yura gains red markings under his eyes and his teeth sharpen

(8) Yura is actually quite touch starved because of the isolation that comes with being a Jinchuuriki. Because of this, Yura is often very affectionate with his friends

Just a note, Han dosen't have a last name so I had to give him one. The name Fujisaki is spelled 不二咲 (fujisaki) meaning "two unblooming (flowers)". The "two" is both Han and Kokuo and the "unblooming" references how they were not able to work together and therefore not using each others abilities to their full potential.

Yes I watch Boruto and also read the manga, okay but the cinnamon roll Mitsuki has to be okay. He can’t go like this after saving his teammates in his epic sage mode. I don’t even think he went fully into it, like I think he could’ve gone further. His organs can’t fail him now he needs to rejuvenate them and survive. Orochimaru keep pretending you don’t care about your son. Lol too many feels. Sorry if I’ve spoiled anything.

Update: Okay so at the end of episode 171 Orochimaru is all like you pushed yourself too hard and I might not be able to repair your body back to even like a decent amount of functioning. I’m like noooo the cinnamon bun that is Mitsuki has to be restored to 💯 health. I really hope that if he can’t be restored to his former health please omg! And I’m worried that Orochimaru might replace him. Mitsuki isn’t like his brothers he’s his own person and he cares about his teammates. He can’t have developed this much just to be pushed back now! When he opened his eyes he looked so helpless... hang in there Mitsuki 🐍

I think it's completely alright if a fan starts disliking their favorite character because of "uselessness" or lack of appereance. If other characters are given more attention for a longer span of time, it's just normal, i.e that Sakura fan that started liking Ino. If Ino is given more relevance, more importance and she's being utilized better than Sakura, then I think it's okay to like her more, and it's also okay to criticize your own favorite character (and the mangaka responsible for the lack of content). Especially if it has happened for more than 2 years and people can think of better ways to include said favorite character in the story than the writer themselves.

This situation will only lead to the raise of popularity of some characters and decrease of others. I'm sure if there was another Boruto manga popularity poll right now, Sakura (and even Hinata since she does absolutely nothing other than whine) would drop and Sumire and Ino would increase due to appearance (Sumire does nothing but [...] but she's there).

It's not that medics are useless. I think that Sakura's medical department is the main support system in every land, as she and the hospital she directs will always keep the shinobi and villagers healthy and at top condition to defend Konoha. I even think it's more important than whatever Ino does, alert of a danger when it's already inside the village and possibly too late to prepare for a counter attack. And in this aspect, like Isshiki or Delta when they infiltrated the village and Ino didn't detect them until they were inside (cause the system doesn't detect outside the sensing barrier) she still had roles like alerting the police or Shikamaru.

But Sakura isn't given major roles like mobilizing medical teams to tend the evacuated, have responsibilities as the main female jonin and the strongest kunoichi, etc. She's just there, buying flowers for Sasuke or healing Sasuke, she isn't given any role in the village's protection.

Yet, the plot is making Kawaki and Boruto's post fight, when they needed medical attention as to heal Kawaki himself and discover how on Earth Boruto had regenerated his body (hell, Sakura is the only one that can regenerate why isn't she there), seem so unimportant, and a system that detects Code, Eida, Delta and Daimon when they're already inside the village seem like the most important thing and what the village needs the most to be protected.

It's how the writer is playing with the plot, it doesn't matter if you think of covid and medics or nurses, it doesn't matter if you add a more realistic view of the medical department in fiction or in real life, the writer will make it so unimportant to the point of the fans of a healer character to start questioning their worth, importance, relevance, etc.

I know you'll get triggered by this, but the writer doesn't give Sakura a personality other than heal Sasuke (and I'm speaking of the manga here) or buy him flowers, or saying she'll go grocery shopping.

In the anime, last time she appeared was healing Mirai, which in an episode with Sasuke and Sarada who was hesitant of becoming chunin. Right now with Kawaki and Himawari in the Academy, I hope they give her another medical ninjutsu class but seems so unlikely. I'm really hoping for an enhanced version of episode 167 of Sakura in her director's office in the hospital, doing medical procedures other than the boring green glow (it's boring at this point that she only uses that same jutsu when in Naruto she used others too). I hope she does surgery for real, or takes a cyborg to perform an autopsy (because she can do autopsies and it's something that people forget) or do pills and science, antidotes for the Byakugan suppresor or some collaborations.

But since nobody wants to give her a deserved spotlight in the anime and manga (cause non sasusakus won't read Retsuden) let fans like other females, let them rant about Sakura and let Ino fans enjoy this Boruto importance, cause she's been much more relevant as a female/protector of Konoha since episode 177 or 200+/chapter 28 of 72 to the point of outshining others deemed more important since chapter 5/episode 13 (and yes, I'm talking about Sakura).

I think it's completely alright if a fan starts disliking their favorite character because of "uselessness" or lack of appereance. If other characters are given more attention for a longer span of time, it's just normal, i.e that Sakura fan that started liking Ino. If Ino is given more relevance, more importance and she's being utilized better than Sakura, then I think it's okay to like her more, and it's also okay to criticize your own favorite character (and the mangaka responsible for the lack of content). Especially if it has happened for more than 2 years and people can think of better ways to include said favorite character in the story than the writer themselves.

How on earth is that okay? Firstly, that perceived "uselessness" that you speak of is only because Sakura is not currently involved in the plot. That already makes this sentiment utterly stupid because not being involved in the plot doesn't make a character useless for god's sake. Secondly, why would you grow to actually dislike a character simply because they were not on screen/panel that much? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. They didn't do anything to make you dislike them, they were simply not part of the plot at that point. If that would make you dislike the author for excluding said character, then fair enough. If that would make you like other characters more who were involved in the plot at that point, then fair enough. But to start disliking the excluded characters, solely because they were excluded, is stupid, end of story.

This situation will only lead to the raise of popularity of some characters and decrease of others. I'm sure if there was another Boruto manga popularity poll right now, Sakura (and even Hinata since she does absolutely nothing other than whine) would drop and Sumire and Ino would increase due to appearance (Sumire does nothing but [...] but she's there).

I'm not even gonna bother addressing your "Hinata does absolutely nothing other than whine" remark because that's almost as preposterous as your "Sakura has no personality other than healing Sasuke" comment which I'll get to later, at this point it's already clear what kind of person I'm dealing with. What I'll say is that yes, if a popularity poll was conducted right now, Sakura and Hinata probably wouldn't place as highly. However, that obviously is not indicative that people have started disliking those characters, nor should they. It simply means that the shine is not on them at the moment because they aren't involved in what is currently going on.

It's not that medics are useless. I think that Sakura's medical department is the main support system in every land, as she and the hospital she directs will always keep the shinobi and villagers healthy and at top condition to defend Konoha. I even think it's more important than whatever Ino does, alert of a danger when it's already inside the village and possibly too late to prepare for a counter attack. And in this aspect, like Isshiki or Delta when they infiltrated the village and Ino didn't detect them until they were inside (cause the system doesn't detect outside the sensing barrier) she still had roles like alerting the police or Shikamaru.

But Sakura isn't given major roles like mobilizing medical teams to tend the evacuated, have responsibilities as the main female jonin and the strongest kunoichi, etc.

My point is asking why Sakura's absence from the screen/panel somehow equates to her being useless? That is something that neither you nor anyone has been able to answer, and you all instead choose to repeat the same tired points regarding how she's not there, how she's being outshined, and especially the asinine point about she's apparently only ever there to heal Sasuke, when none of those points, regardless of whether they're even correct or not, prove Sakura to be useless.

Well then those fans clearly need to reevaluate themselves, because if a character's absence from an arc causes some fans to actually start questioning that character's worth, despite the plethora of times this character has proven to be a valuable asset in both the past and present, then those fans are fickle. I mean honestly, you're calling a character who is in charge of keeping people alive, useless, simply because she isn't involved in the current plot. It absolutely boggles the mind, it really does.

I'm not refuting any of that. I'm not saying fans can't rant about Sakura's absence, I'm not saying fans can't enjoy Ino's current importance, I'm not saying Ino hasn't recently outshined Sakura in the manga. What I'm saying, is that none of that makes Sakura useless, nor should her current absence in any way serve as a reason to dislike her. I don't understand why I'm having to repeat this.
