The lack of Handsome Jack in the Borderlands movie trailer has awakened a feeling that had been dormant in me for several years.

Other artists may draw themselves being smooched by their fav characters, but... I'm a realist and I know he wouldn't do that, lol.

Nine years have passed between the first drawing and the new one, and I'm still fucking obsessed with him. Handsome Jack best fictional villain ever. You cannot change my mind ψ(｀∇´)ψ

so like, right, ive talked about this before but in bl3 there's an echo you can find in moxxi's heist that's jack calling his mom and wishing her a happy mother's day. she doesn't answer this call, at the end of the recording it's obvious it's a voicemail, and one that he has made several times over the years, especially considering how sad he sounds when he says bye

now, this already fucks with me but what makes me wonder is-

is she even alive?

i know that lots of out of game stuff isn't canon, stuff that voice actors say and do in QnA's and trailers and promotional stuff is kinda eh whatever, plus bl3 has a million other issues with continuity but in one of the QnA's "jack" did, he said he killed his mom

now of course this mean a lot of different things, like just something dameon threw in there as a funny ha ha, it could have been canon at one point but then was rectonned later, the bl3 writers forget/didn't know he said this, OR it is still canon that jack killed his mom and he just. . . .still sends her mothers day voicemails

Currently I just finished season one and Honestly, just found out it’s based on a manga, and suddenly everything about how the show is made makes so much more sense—

Handsome Jack (Borderlands 2)

- Everyone’s favorite jackass.

- Generic tabby shorthair.

- Large, stocky- big chest, thin waist. Huge front paws.

- Notched right ear.

- Three clasps on mask (two on brow, one on chin). Mask works like a second skin, perfectly capable of movement + emoting

- Heterochromatic (blue/green)

- Harness usually has at least two guns/knives with it. Leg harness ft. shield- left arm has his wrist laser.

- Usually has at least a little blood on him.

A.I Jack:

- No real difference besides the fact that he’s a hologram now.

- Still an asshole

- Doesn’t emit a glow, but never shaded even in the dark.

- Despite being capable of hovering around, usually walks.

- Eyes glow yellow when controlling Rhys’s cybernetics/Hyperion tech.

Jack (unmasked):

- V-shaped scar begins at left corner of mouth, crosses the middle of his left eye, passes corner of right eye and stops at right corner of mouth.

- Scar glows a faint blue in dim light. Acts like a branding scar- hurts like a bitch.

- Left eye entirely blind, vision poor in right. Exposed teeth + gums on left side of mouth (not shown)

- Scruffy chin

- Never goes without mask (cybernetics within give him better vision + protect scar/damaged mouth and teeth).

I feel like my obsession with Nisha in the year 2024, especially as the Sheriff of Lynchwood, is directly related to my Stephen King phase and reading Desperation as an 11yo. I just draw a lot of inspiration about her character from this book and the portrayal of a horror cop in a desert setting. Like -
