McFarlane Toys confirms Wave 10 of their Batman 66 line will feature the "Batman 66 meets Wonder Woman 77" version of Nightwing, an eleven years older Burt Ward Robin, who has now taken on a more contemporary look for 1977 even down to the hairy chest and wide collared tunic with zipper that goes a LONG way down!

They are also adding one of my favourite Batman '66 one-shot villains, Roddy McDowell's magnificent Bookworm

As well as an Alan Napier Alfred and a Jetpack Batman

ahhhhh i love Bookworm!!!!! this is a character who deserves more attention 🥰💖 so cruel and crazy and clever...there's just such incredible charm when you really lean into the old-school camp of Batman. it cracks me up, thinking about a character like Bookworm in the Reevesverse...that's what we'd have if he were brave enough 😂💖

Another idea. Robin being captured in like maybe the 60's Batman or like the Audio Adventures or something. He fully expects Batman will come for him, but thinks it's going to be awhile since he kinda didn't tell Batman where he was going to be infiltrating.

Cue all the other supervillains busting in to rescue the Boy Wonder because that's not how things work and they are the only ones allowed to do him in, thank you. And you didn't even do it properly with a death trap, what the heck, man!

While all the other supervillains are going after the one who captured Robin, Batman just kind of swoops in, rescues Robin, and they head out.

The Artist: the homie @dcwnthercbbithcle is partly to blame for this, but I can't think of Carmina being with anyone except Sally now dhdhdjjs 💙

Bleez: Fatality! I just think that. Toxic yuri 😌 also them inadvertently helping the other overcome the mind controlling element of their rings.

The Blight: absolutely Vigo. Mans has never even existed on screen but occupies a huge chunk of Talbot’s lore. Gay ass.

Bookworm: I put him together with the scraps from his original incarnation on the '66 show with the idea of being tied to my Scarecrow in some fashion, and I will die before that changes. I also think he and Eddie would be horrible together 💙

Candyman: I am not immune to the fun art of him and Hell's Priest (Pinhead), previous experiences be damned.

Catwoman: Gotham City Sirens Throuple NOW

Claudette Morel: I just think. Haddie and Claudette 💙

The Doctor: my first answer is to say Phil- but for the sake of only having one pair of muses point at each other, I'll go with Min. Granted I don't see them as romantic/sexual, but still one of my favorites for Herman.

The Dredge: Haddie- but again, not romantic or sexual.

March Harriet: honestly, Harrie and Barbara have always been a silly little ship of mine- if mostly as a one-sided thing on Harriet's part.

Rorschach: Dan is such an obvious answer, but Rorschach can't stand anyone else so he's also the only answer.

Saint Walker: honestly one of my oldest romantic ships is Bro’Dee and J'onn, and tbh I still stand by it.

Salaak: Kilowog. He's the only one there's any likelihood Salaak would ever confess to, at least qvq

Scarecrow: EDWIN,,,,,,,,, WAH. Though I have seen some Very fun things of him and Selina.

Sinestro: again, Hal seems like too obvious an answer- but I'm being entirely serious when I say the only two other options to ever exist (Arin and Abin) are both dead twice over.

The Spirit: YUI!!! Rin thinks she's sooooo neat

Two-Face: another silly little ship of mine is the Dents and Oswald qvq

The Wraith: Herman is pretty much tied with Evan for who I like best with Phil (this is also Bunni's fault), but I'll go with Evan for fairness (even if it's exclusively Bunni's Evan. I Do Not Like how much racism and infantalization broad fanon puts on Phil in any ships but Especially with Evan, unfortunately :/)

This may be because I have something brewing, but how would you adapt some of the obscure/Batman 66 villains?

Admittedly, I am not familiar with the obscure Batman 66 rogues; however, I thought this would be a fun challenge so here are my thoughts so behold my interpretation of some of these rogues.

The Archer: In my timeline, he operated from Batman's first appearance to the early half of Jason Todd's Robin career. He has since retired completely, but his work inspired many in Gotham to continue his mission. While he would no longer be in operation, I imagine he would be a spiritual successor. Personally, I think the successor should be an opponent of Tim Drake or Damian Wayne, and perhaps their Merry Men are the successors of 66 villains with an intense rivalry with Shame and Calamity Jan's successors.

The Bookworm (I. N. Kingor): He is a former rogue (worked from when Bruce first started as Batman to shortly into Robin's career) who used his obscurity to return to an early life. His official (re)introduction would have been during Barbara Gordon's library gig when he is revealed to be her new boss. Alongside working at the library, he would be the author of several acclaimed mystery novels as he now uses writing as an outlet for his criminal tendencies. He and Lydia Limpet got married (she is now Lydia Kingor), and the two have a child together. Edward Nygma remains his best friend, and he is the godfather of the Kingor child.

(On a side note, I despise the serial killer angle the main comics went with. Hate it. Loathe it. I don't mind his name changing, but I like the more author sounding name of his original alias.)

Egghead (Edger Heed): He would be the same, but works to update himself to the current mask climate. Unfortunately, he would be regulated to a criminal no one would want to fight because no one could deal with his egg-puns and the smartest rogue is a title that he is no longer even in the running for. (Personally, I think it is Edward.)

Louie the Lilac (Genis Louie): In the comics, Louie was put into a near-death state by Poison Ivy. This leaves him catatonic until (through comic magic) he recovers at the cost of his humanity. Now a Sporeling, he has become one of the man-eating lilacs' he adores with a personal vendetta against Poison Ivy and the Bats. He would have a similar powerset to Ivy.

Marsha, Queen of Diamonds: She is an older wealthy widow socialite who gathered her wealth through marrying and murdering her fifty-two husbands. She would show up to charity functions. While they have a significant age gap in the show, I believe it would be an interesting adaptational change to age Marsha up so her and Black Widow may become wives. That way, I can have them be foils to Selina Kyle and (potentially) Talia al'Ghul.

The Siren (Lorelei Circe): She should cross galleries and become a Black Canary villain. She would work as a lounge singer, and is an unwilling witness to several crimes. Currently, I have no other ideas.

Bookworm was a villain created for the Adam West TV series. He was a genius with a compulsion to steel expensive rare books. Despite his intelligence, he left clues for Batman to solve, leading to his defeat.

Caleb Dume (Appearance in TBB) - The sole reason I created Cirz to be a young fugitive Padawan who has survived execution of Order 66 is because of Caleb’s underdeveloped appearance in Bad Batch. I wished to expand upon the question of what a Jedi kid suddenly pushed to hide might be going through, how he might struggle to conceal his identity, where he will go and what he will do. TBB gave no answers so I made my own.

Heike Monogatari (2021 anime) - A theme of The Tales of the Heike is that all existence is impermanent. Families rise and fall, people seize and lose power, and ancient treasures become lost. The character of Biwa that is added in this version of the story is an observer of the tragedies that befall other characters and while she is powerless to change the course of events on her own, she carries on to pass down their story. In a similar manner Cirz is a survivor of the Jedi purge who is going to pass down his knowledge of the destroyed Order. Cirz’s core outlook on life was largely inspired by the intro song of the show “If there's no such thing as eternity, I'm sure that the worst of times won't last so long. Someday we'll come around and meet again. Even after the end, someone will tell the story of how I lived with you.”

Myne (Ascendance of a Bookworm) - Myne is a five year old girl that during a near death experience unlocked memories of her previous life, a japanese college graduate who died during an earthquake. The knowledge that Myne gained causes her to behave strange for her age, and strange in terms of cultural context of her society, because the morality of modern japan is not understood in the world she lives in. The contrast of a child who knows too much and behaves too mature is a theme that I enjoy for Cirz, because I think it’s funny. Cirz being raised in the temple and having access to the Force making him different culturally from majority of the galaxy and also more grounded, more aware than a typical kid (also because he witnessed actual war TM)

Eleven (Stranger Things) - El was raised as a test subject in a lab due to her psychokinetic abilities and as she ran off she continues to be pursued by the show’s antagonists. I’m including her not because of the backstory but because she inspired the way Cirz can perceive past and present events while he opens himself to the Force, that was pretty much where I got the idea, because I thought it’s cool.

Evelyn Marsh is a doctor that has recently finished her residency at a local hospital. She decided to take a short break before looking for a new job to focus on herself and possibly find love. When she came across an ad for Valerie Mayfield’s Bachelorette Challenge, Evelyn thought it was the chance at love she was looking for! Even if she and Valerie are not meant to be, it would be a nice change of pace before going back to work.

Evelyn spends her spare time cooking up a storm in her kitchen. Friends and family love coming over when she has been cooking, since it is always really tasty. It would probably come as a surprise to you then that her favorite food is Mac ‘n’ Cheese. You can do a lot with it whether it is just some boxed stuff or a fancy one made from scratch.
