Thoughts for thoughts sake
Hi, hello, how are you? I have not faded away so far into my cave to have forgotten about this place. I am still reading though I admit life has become very busy and posting immediate reviews of what I've been reading definitely ended up slipping my mind. But, I'm back and need to post a swathe of updates to what I've been reading and what I've read but I still feel good about hitting my goal of a book a week. Currently reading "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" by Ocean Vuong only a few pages in at the moment but wow, what a way with words. The book absolutely reads like it was written by a poet and I can only hope to have such beautiful structure pass so effortlessly in my own writing. Much to learn and if the beginning of the book is anything to go by even more to enjoy as a story. Anyhow, I hope all is well for those who have their eye on this little part of the internet. I'm working on projects again and feel good about making progress. I recently had a call with a close friend of mine who wanted to brainstorm for a project they were working on. It was really, really nice. Didn't know how much I was missing the feeling of collaborating and working with others on something. There will be more on here soon. Until then, Cheers -Goblin

Finished. Yes. Another by @teriterrywrites I have one more of her books here to read. It won't be the next book. That will be a library book I've already renewed three times. It's a heavy hardback though so I'll be reading something else at the same time. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is next on the list I wrote at the weekend. It was a prize someone else won in the book tombola at Alphabetti Theatre last month. Books finished in 2020: 7 I may have to change the count. Because there are things on my list with two novels in a volume. One book. But two in other editions. Counting is hard without strict rules. Perhaps I need a novel/book of short stories count and a separate nonfiction count. Perhaps not. #book #bookaweek #bookstagram #bookworm #bookaddict #booklover #selfie #readingbooks #youngadultbooks #bookrecommendations #novels #counting https://www.instagram.com/p/B7t4lCOg-Te/?igshid=p9k6qh35r6w

#bookaweek BANGERS ONLY EDITION. october is the month to read about trauma i guess. these three are as different from each other as can be - but they are all challenging, moving, necessary books. after a month of bearing witness to horrors real & fictional, and spending some time on the eternal treadmill of trauma recovery, i’m going to read a few cookbooks and chill out. i recommend these 100% but tw for pretty much everything. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4VQHmunCaAgqCBM5rtkKMaJ9FwSKNm_rubliU0/?igshid=n83tplw116u0

Just finished #sapiens by #yuvalnoahharari it certainly was a review of the footprint of “sapiens” on Earth. It is filled with historical and biological pointers that lead us to the cautionary final chapter about what we have done and what can we do to avoid repeating the mistakes of our past and maybe, just maybe ensure a future that is kind to all. #lifelonglearner read a #bookaweek #kavehadel #dentist #cartoonist #graphicnovelist #author #coach #dentalschoolprofessor 🤓🦷☮️❤️👨‍🎨 https://www.instagram.com/p/BykXfGbA6ni/?igshid=u5gmdkn0muug

#bookaweek july ✨ i always read less in the summer but i finished 3 books at least. which is a wild sentence! i think i read 3 books in all of 2013 & 2014 combined. life is good on venlafaxine~ 📗🍸 fave this month was the drunken botanist. a plant-centred history of brewing, distilling, & cocktails. i learned a lot of fun trivia! like wicked plants by the same author, it's unevenly researched and moves on from a topic before it's fully explored. often i wanted a few more paragraphs than i got. but still it was a fun read & i screenshotted more than a few recipes. 🐠 gyo walked that line between disgusting & fascinating in the way junji ito does so well. as usual the first third is strongest, then the plot scatters & devolves. not as good as uzumaki, but i would still reread someday. 💀 a bone to pick was terrible & it's the last time i take a book rec from a stranger >:[ https://www.instagram.com/p/B0ofLaRn2ymbDpNbRFq4lQG_Jree4a_z4G9NNU0/?igshid=kltolh1wca1e
