The Summer Station ID theme song was performed by Filipina OPM singer and songwriter Regine Velasquez featuring Filipino singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, television host, actor and comedian Ogie Alcasid who is Regine Velasquez's husband when they got married in December 30, 2005 which was 1 day before Ogie Alcasid's birthday. Somehow, They had their first child who was born in May 1, 2007. Also starting in June 1, 2007, The theme “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” can be heard on DZMM Radyo 630 and various radio stations nationwide.

Red, Green, Blue and Black Balloons will also be scattered around the world to literally bring forth the summer fun.

The Summer Station ID was filmed in Hollywood, Singapore, Germany, Italy, France, London, Jamaica, Australia, Kenya, Japan, Quezon City, Boracay and New York in June 2006 whenever the ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 crew members are having a hot summer day into a big summer party.

The Summer Station ID clips will be re-used in the 2013 Summer Station ID of TV5 which is “Bida Best sa Tag-Araw”, The 2014 Summer Station ID of TV5 which is “Pinoy Summer, Da Best 4 Eva!” and the I Gotta Feeling music video from the future movie Ready Player One which will be releasing in March 21, 2013 from Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. However, The Summer Station ID reuses the clips of the music videos from those deleted songs Without Me by Dr. Dre and The Real Slim Shady by DMX from the movie Frozen where Will Smith as Jack Frost and Luis Manzano, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Matteo Guidicelli and DingDong Dantes as “The Backstreet Boys” were seen including Little Bo Peep from Toy Story and Gelli de Belen as “The Beauty Queen” who also make a cameo at the near end.

But somehow, This is the only Summer Station ID to feature the crew of ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5.

PCSO Extends Invitation to Senate Committee on Games and Amusements for Transparent Oversight: General Manager Mel Robles Welcomes Senators to Observe Lottery Processes and Ensure Integrity

MANILA — On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, General Manager Mel Robles of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced the extension of an invitation to members of the Senate Committee on Games and Amusements. The purpose of this invitation, he stated, is to enable senators to observe lottery processes and form unbiased conclusions and recommendations.

GM Robles expressed confidence in the integrity of the lottery procedures, emphasizing that allowing senators to witness the draws firsthand is the best way to dispel any doubts.

“For the past 89 years, the PCSO has maintained unquestionable integrity, and we are committed to upholding that untarnished reputation,” affirmed Robles.

He further stated, “That’s why we are inviting our honorable senators to witness the actual processes in action.”

Going the extra mile, GM Robles encouraged senators to conduct unannounced inspections to provide additional assurance of the integrity of lottery operations.

In a letter dated January 22, GM Robles invited the lawmakers to witness the entire lotto draw process, from pre-draw preparations to the actual draw, on any day without prior notice, in the interest of transparency.

The letter was addressed to Committee Chairperson Sen. Manuel Lapid, Vice-Chairpersons Sen. Christopher ‘Bong’ Go and Sen. Raffy Tulfo, and committee members Senators Jose Ejercito Jr., Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero, Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., Francis Tolentino, and Risa Hontiveros.

“If you choose to send a representative, we simply ask for official written authorization for him or her,” added GM Robles.

“We are committed to openness and accountability in the conduct of all our lottery activities. Fostering transparency in the lotto draw process is crucial in maintaining public trust and confidence in the integrity of our operations,” emphasized GM Robles. (Elami Go/PAN)

(5th UPDATE) Estrada was convicted of one count of direct bribery and two counts of indirect bribery. He will remain free as he appeals those convictions.

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Jinggoy Estrada was acquitted of plunder, but convicted of bribery in the pork barrel scam. 

The anti-graft court Sandiganbayan released this verdict to Estrada on Friday, January 19.

Estrada was convicted of one count of direct bribery and two counts of indirect bribery. Those carry a sentence of 8 to 9 years for direct bribery and 2 to 3 years for indirect bribery. He was also ordered to pay a P3-million fine.

Estrada will remain free as he appeals those convictions.

Estrada’s indirect bribery conviction carries an accessory penalty of suspension from public office. It is uncertain if this is immediately executory or if he has a chance to appeal. 

Co-accused Janet Lim-Napoles, who owns most of the NGOs in the pork barrel scam, was convicted of a total of 7 counts of corruption of public officials. She was ordered to pay a fine of P262 million. 

Like Estrada, Napoles was acquitted of plunder, but she remains in jail for other convictions, including plunder in relation to the Bong Revilla case where the senator was acquitted.

Estrada’s staff Pauline Therese Mary Labayen, and Napoles’ staff John Raymund de Asis remain at-large; their cases are archived, and warrants of arrest have been re-issued.

Estrada had been accused of pocketing P183 million in kickbacks from his Priority Development Assistance Fund or PDAF, discretionary funds for lawmakers which were corrupted by using bogus NGOs whose projects turned out to be fake.

He is the second of three senators to be acquitted of plunder in the pork barrel scam, a decade-long trial that has seen lower-ranked staff fall but lawmakers free.

Estrada, who won a senatorial comeback in 2022 with the Marcos-Duterte slate, is not completely off the hook on the graft allegations over the same controversy. Plunder has to involve an amount of P50 million and above, and has to prove earning a kickback. Graft is a lesser crime that can cover several offenses from negligence to partiality in government transactions.

Estrada has been out on bail for almost seven years now after the same court granted his bail petition in 2017. The Sandiganbayan approved the bail then using the novel principle of proving a “main plunderer,” which Estrada was not, at that point in the trial, according to the court.

Former senator Juan Ponce Enrile, who is now chief presidential legal adviser, is the only one with a pending plunder case. His case notoriously dragged on in the Sandiganbayan because of technical petitions. Revilla, the first to be acquitted, has also been cleared of his graft charges, ending his criminal trials over the pork barrel scam.

Like the others, Estrada has always maintained that he only endorsed the NGOs, and did not earn from the scam.

This is Estrada’s second plunder win. He was charged alongside his father, former president Joseph Estrada, over the accusation that they earned P4 billion from jueteng operations, among others.

Jinggoy Estrada was cleared, but his father President Estrada was convicted and pardoned later on by former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Estrada’s plunder charges from the pork barrel scam began in June 2014, when the Office of the Ombudsman, then under Conchita Carpio Morales, charged him, Revilla and Enrile – all big fish at the time. Enrile got bail on humanitarian grounds, and his chief-of-staff Gigi Reyes also recently secured a humanitarian release.
