SEers say Damon was trying to sexualize the scene where he trains Elena on where to stake a vampire in 3x6 for his own benefit even though that's literally Stefan when Elena was doing stretches with him in 4x16. Damon showed her where she'd have to make contact when staking a vampire since a vampire's heart is in a different place than a human one so she doesn't miss, similar to how he told Jeremy not to miss when he using a gun at the lakehouse, especially after her near death experience. They had been progressively building a comfort level up to the training scene for her to be comfortable asking and accepting the help he gave. Even though Elena kept leaning closer to kiss him he brought up Stefan and shut it down because he knew she was emotional at the time. Stefan had nothing of value to teach Elena in 4x16 and just moaned unnecessarily while smirking and looked towards her underwear her skirt had exposed and took advantage of her emotional state and sexually harassed her by making vulgar comments and looking at her inappropriately even though she wasn't trying to seduce him. SErs say Elena leaning into him and saying "What heart?" in 4x19 proves he was right when he made the comment about Elena manipulating him with sex even though her saying that at prom was so he'd leave her alone. They call their prom dance sex on a dance floor even though Elena looked uninterested in feelings when it came to Stefan or Damon. Plus the song was about an abusive relationship. Elena wasn't interested in sex or love when she had her humanity off. The Salvatores are more likely to be like sexual with their humanities off. Elena only kissed Damon to manipulate him to take something and in Elijah's case he initiated and she looked thrown off and uncomfortable because pretending to be someone else and using sexuality to manipulate isn't a natural part of who she is. I think the reason why SEers make a big deal out of things like this is because they think Stefan owns Elena even though Elena has actively held an interest and built a closeness over time with Damon. They delude themselves into believing the sire bond created her feelings so they disregard that Delena were close and that Elena was in love with him before she turned so they can undermine their scenes together. Such a childish fandom. They even call Damon touching Elena's face to comfort her in 4x2 as disrespecting her relationship with Stefan lol.
3x6 is sexualized, but it's not just sex. It's heart and sacrifice. And it's not about heart placement. Damon was showing her that it's easier to stake their hearts from the back because it would be. The sternum is solid plate of bone. A damaged sternum is typically indicative of CPR, that's how much pressure it requires. I could pull a great gif post for that scene.
The scene Stefan has when Elena is doing stretches, that's all sex and no heart. Sex is the only thing Elena can give Stefan because she's in love with Damon. Stefan was the one that made it all about sex at prom by using "touch" to try and spark her humanity. She was simply responding to that approach. The fact that Stefan didn't compare Elena to Katherine until 4x16, while Damon started comparing her to Katherine in 2x3… that's what's hilarious to me. Elena knew the moment she flipped her emotions off that Damon was her man and her love for him was real, she just didn't feel it. That's why she's in their room, talking about the scared little human girl that couldn't admit what she wants.

4x2 heroes & villains (https://scriptline.livejournal.com/40160.html)
I like how the transcript calls him "creepy guy" even tho we get his name Watched this ep with my older bro. He has a lot to say about jewish comic artists & police interference.
*Deep male voice* wouldn't the creep be weirded out seeing someone dressed like that? *casually cuts the guy's hand off* *somehow able to cut him in half even tho that's not exactly possible* (actually I just wasted time researching & watching videos, idk if it is possible to cut someone in half if they are standing up, but u can cut em crosswise for sure.)
Why that knife rick? RC: I seem to remember asking you to make me an E.T. Halloween costume and you told me you didn't know how to sew. MR: Details. Besides, you were 32 at the time. The point is, proper wardrobe helps an actor connect to the words. (won't clip)
Poor rick, he just wants his daughter Lol I skipped my grad, ran & hid by climbing up a giant storage crate. So valid bestie (password sharing) MR: Lady Beckett, my lord. Richard, are you crying? RC: No, it's the onions. RC, next scene: Okay, I'll admit, it wasn't just the onions, not completely. I mean, she's gonna be gone in a few months. My little girl. (could clip but I'm low on time)
[They approach the body halves, covered in yellow plastic on either side of a pool of blood, feet sticking out.] Lanie <3
Ok so what kind of steel is it? A lot of japanese steel will actually break or chip if it hits bones, so it might not be best for chopping someone in half but it definitely broke off
Swords are so good so cool. JE: Tyler Ferris. He just got out of Sing Sing a year ago for sexual assault. KB: Okay, we got any witnesses? JE: Yeah. The girl he was in the middle of assaulting oof (I shouldn't find that funny, I know it is tragic & it really sucks, but I'm allowed to find humour in my pain & past.)
Poor gal still has blood all over her She's right lol Lol the "touche"
Love mrs ferris Don't get me wrong. I never expected my boy to end up in two hunks, but I always knew one day he'd end up there laying on a slab. KB: Do you know if he was involved in anything that might've gotten him killed? Ferris: Well, I certainly expect so. Is "ship coming in" a figure of speech?
KB: Ma'am, um, I'll need the names of all the enemies your son may have had. Ferris: You're gonna need a bigger pad.
As cops, Ryan is right. As people, Esposito is right. JE: Well, maybe a sword is a justice system. So true bestie.
KR: This other guy have a name? JE: Yeah. Tony Valtini. *KR perks up* This guy's got a record, too. KR: Damn right, he does!!! (won't clip) I remember Valtini from back in Narcotics. The guy is totally Mobbed up. You know what else, his family owns this meat packing plant out in Jersey. Tony's nickname: Tony the Butcher. JE: I bet he split a few sides of beef in his day. except you usually split the sides carefully, not with one big swing. ugh this is going to be a long episode if I keep bringing up culinary school.
TV: I am a legitimate businessman. Castle it's not funny. KB: You never reported an attack. TV: I don't like to be a burden on law enforcement. *casually shucks his pants*
(just one buttock) JE: The sword of justice, bro. It's going to end up being esposito. (NEW FANFIC IDEA BABES) (ryan & his signature mug. it's the little things in the show) Mum & lil bro watch superhero shows so this episode was great with the two of them the hero (probs not super) looks definitely very male
KB: She didn't think that we'd believe her. And, quite frankly, she's right. probs delusional, probs right. Def has something going on castle. reminds me of the time the school got a mascot & then the two furries in the school accidentally outed themselves to each other bc they recognized the work. Castle writer moments, & he's not too far wrong red marune is so adorable I love him. isn't that redundant? LARRYBOY ryan *watching the caskett argument from the distance* cyclist *gives rick a delivery in the middle of the bullpen*
Ryan really is becoming castle jr, the nicknames on the wiki were right Just marvel? No dc no dark horse no anything else? I just listed the mainstream ones. Castle was quick putting together that vigilante board (need to pic this) JE: *sus* KR: *interested* JE: they're make believe KB: All driven by the death of a father or loved one Gates is kind of right But then Castle actually had a point Castle chill XD
RC: hardcore skjdflsdkfsljdk KB: Elektra RC: Ah. A ruthless assassin who hides from her emotions. KB: No, maybe it's because she's got badass ninja skills.
RC: Ah. Try billionaire industrialist Bruce Wayne, A.K.A. The Dark Knight. He's brooding, he's handsome, and he has all the coolest toys. You are the billionare non-cop crime solver, castle. (won't clip) (lol I had my french keyboard on so my apostrophe didn't show up at first)
I love mike hoover. Well castle wasn't the one who actually wrote the graphic novels, heh. kind of a chronically online nerd but I love him so so much. Love his hat too. Which one?
There is a T in vigilanTe (I used to say vigilanté but now I say vigilantie like everyone else) Nice, webcomics. Unless the hero is the writer babes
JE: Yeah, well, whoever he is, I can't connect him to any swords either. I pray we nail this dude before I have to call every store on that list. KR: I thought you were kind of rooting for this guy? JE: That's when he was Joe Citizen taking it to the bad guys. Now he's just some nimrod in a suit. (making espt call a bunch of stores) KR: Ah. You gotta give him props for spirit, though, right? I mean, haven't you ever wanted to be a superhero? Going out there, prowling the city, knocking some heads? JE: I do that now. ew cops & their hero complexes. castle acab moments. (but still clipping)
did CSU not find it? Why is it perfectly timed that lone ranger aka LR is here rn? (looks like he could be a woman in theory) hella cool parkour tho Fun timing esposito calling right then. Has he been called espo yet? I don't much like the name. I feel like "sito" are the stressed syllables. (dw dm, he gets called Zito/'Sito later.) Also in her phone he's just esposito, no first name? Also why didn't she just decline the call? Espt talkin p slow today huh.
lmao I love this kid so much. He's so silly & adorable. superheroes have a billion different villains bc they had to start putting them in jail with cops & there was never allowed to be any tragedy or escapes where the villain got away. or so big bro says Chad: My father's in miami
Neither would lone vengence! Comic book characters aren't real, okay? I love chad he's so adorable & sweet I was about ready to hang up my tights for good "lone" Poor chad. There are def going to be A Ton of these characters. Remember Jumping Jack? & Mere do well?
GATES I told the Mayor we had our man. BECKETT Yeah well, you shouldn't have done that. GIRL YOU SAID THAT TO HER FACE IN THAT TONE
Not looking at the writer?
castle printed them out? Alexis is so pretty Did she ever get that motorcycle/scooter Mum got classes that would count to dad's drama minor or philosophy major that also counted to her education major or whatever mum's minor was, & she got classes that would count credits for her major+minor but would also count for her friend's major. But anyway ew math castle isn't wrong but like... AC: Why does everything I do have to make sense? Why can't I just do what I want once in awhile? That's all you ever do.
That's some intense yoga. Yk, yoga is not just workouts, not just funny positions & stretching, not just low impact training, yoga has a spiritual component to it & it makes me just a bit upset that ppl don't even know that let alone respect it.
FInally anagram I was right! trace the IP or smth?
wait the captions said faris this time. is it ferris or faris? the transcript has both lol THE WHAT NOW COMICS I was not expecting slutty schoolgirl comics to make an appearance here. Mild mannered is "out of the ordinary" for him lol. Mom: He was different. Wore a suit. Castle: As in, mask and cape? Mom: Jacket and tie
oh yeah a crime reporter? Definitely ryan sounds like castle rn i love it KB: *sips coffee* JE: *watching from the phone* RC: *raises eyebrow* RC: The student has become the master. Or at least, he tried. Actually, for a truly Castle-esque theory, it has to be fully thought through. (yk I might clip this) KB: Since when? KR: I did think it through! (mr detective man) *ryan & castle bouncing off each other now* (I said a bit ago that castito & ryckett were decent but now I'm looking at especkett & rystle & have been often this season during my normal watch through. idk anyone's ship names I'm making them up every time I say one & they often sound bad or end up different esp with esposito bc his name is twice as long as anyone else's)
man's a FULL ass hero tyvm! (tho only a half assed superhero bc superpowers don't exist) RC: Hmm. That is one block away from Comicadia. JE: Mm KR: Mm
I love the comic bro kid
VG: Really. Our killer's a writer? RC: Well, writers can be men of action. VG: I've yet to see that, Mr. Castle. VG: So, he's a journalist like Peter Parker? KB: Actually, Peter Parker was a news photographer. RC: Yeah, our guy's a little more like, uh, Clark Kent. And he's mild mannered, just like I…predicted. VG: *the look* I like how gates at least communicates with becks this time.
PW: That's just a--a character I create. It's not someone real.
I'm sure he can still write comics from prison... Left-handed Castle writer moments
Hand was before...
protecting someone obv RC: Because Paul is protecting the real killer. Paul is the writer, Lone Vengeance is the subject. That's their relationship. (to Beckett) It's you and me, all over again. But I'm Paul and you're Lone Vengeance. KB: Really, Castle? Is that how you see me? Like a sword wielding killer? (No, a crime fighting machine!) RC: Depends. Will you be scantily clad? KB: In your dreams. (probably will be tbh) JE: Not to rain on your comic book fantasy, (clipping) Esposito's shirt is so boring. Personally I would wear it but not to work. Collarless long sleeve, neutral colour
wall's obv a fake bro. remember the magician's lair? Oh wait it isn't even a secret room it's a thing of swords & that's it LV def looks like they don't need to be male rn & dun dun dun a woman & dun dun dun it's a cop
Ryan's shirt is ugly & he doesn't have a tie. Why?
KR: Can you believe it? Lone Vengeance, sword wielding killer, ends up being one of our own. JE: I don't know. Maybe she had her reasons. KR: Whoa. "Maybe she had her reasons"? What happened to" nimrod in a suit"? (after "woah nimrod? what happened to sword of justice?") JE: Well that's before I knew she was a cop. wow acab much
her being a cop is cool, she WOULD know how to clean the blood up, probably, AH: Someone killed my dad. Nothing'll ever be enough. But doing what I do makes me feel better. I respect it actually, I can see it, & the mirror with beckett is great
BECKETT You crossed the line, Ann. HASTINGS Don't pretend like we're so different. BECKETT Let's talk about Tyler Faris. HASTINGS Didn't you lose your mom? BECKETT We're not here to discuss that. HASTINGS Didn't you shoot the guy who killed her right here in this precinct? The bullet that you took, isn't that connected to her murder, too? Because that's the rumor. BECKETT I am not like you! I didn't chop a man in half! HASTINGS Neither did I.
AH: It wasn't from my suit. And the only reason I wanted it was to figure out who's behind this. she's a cop so it's cool she canvasses & learns & is friends with a crime beat fellow, I would watch a spinoff of those two. Or a mini series. I've said, castle could have used a few mini series episodes.
good ep bro but I was working or writing when castle went to turn the board over & beckett just Stopped Him like "no hun, we're not doing that rn" (or it was the ghost hunting the ring episode)
When did they grab the cousin's prints?
KB: Ann, you're a good cop. And you've got somebody who cares about you. Don't be so driven by the past that you throw away your future. Take care.
RC: Well, a murder solved and a notorious hoodlum off the streets for good. I call that a solid win. VG: I agree. All because of the hard work and dedication of this team. RC: Thank you, Captain. That means a lot. VG: Of police officers. (XD) Team of police officers, Mr. Castle. Detective, about Officer Hastings. She, uh, fled the alley when you ordered her to stop. Some reason you're not pressing any charges? KB: VG: I think that, given the number of folks wearing that costume, we can't prove that it was her in that alley. Or anywhere else, for that matter. (I thought she was very by-the-book) KB: Exactly, sir. VG: She's a promising officer. That said, it'd be bad for all of us if Lone Vengeance were to show up ever again. KB: I don't think that that will be a problem, sir.
RC: Either she just grew a heart… KB: Or she's worried about how it would look if the press found out that Lone Vengeance was one of our own.
RC: A writer and his muse, fighting crime. Just like us. *paul & ann kiss* Caskett: *awkward* (clipping)
RC: You know, even when you were a little girl, you were a serious person. I think I've just gotten used to you being sensible and mature. Even more than me sometimes. AC: Sometimes? RC: Point taken.
Emotional family moments, dad moments, advice, & so much cute stuff! love love love!
AC: I know. Especially if we move in together. RC:
I don't think I have time for another one today. Sad.

Ooh maybe you already did BUT please drop your list of spookiest x files eps if you have a chance! ~spookytheory
hey Ash!! I am more than happy to share my list of spooky episodes ;)
a small side-note is that in earlier seasons, particularly season 1, I noticed that a lot of the episodes tended to lean more towards horror (but like, really campy horror) than in later seasons, so this is not an exhaustive list!
🎃 x-files episodes to watch during spooky season 🎃
season 1:
1x3: Squeeze -- it's generally thought of as one of the scariest MOTW episodes, and it's one of the few episodes that actually scared me.
1x7: Ghost in the Machine -- I think this is the only X-Files episode to actually be take place on Halloween, so of course it had to go on the list!
1x8: Ice -- mainly here because it's in the same style of horror as "The Thing."
1x11: Eve -- it's just a very sinister and unexpected concept, which I loved.
(optional) 1x13: Beyond the Sea -- it's one of my all-time favorite episodes, and it definitely is spooky, but I think of it more as a Christmas episode because it takes place in December.
1x21: Tooms -- if you feel like wrapping up the storyline from "Squeeze."
season 2:
2x11: Excelsius Dei -- it's a ghost story, so naturally I had to put it on the list :)
2x14: Die Hand Die Verletzt
(optional) 2x15: Fresh Bones and 2x21: Calusari -- they don't stand out in my mind as being super memorable, but they do have the spooky Halloween/horror themes.
2x24: Our Town (also known as 'the episode that will never let me look at a piece of fried chicken the same way ever again')
season 3:
3x14: Grotesque -- to be honest, there's surprisingly few horror episodes in s3 (it's mostly sci-fi/comedy/psychological horror) but this is the one that stands out to me as being the most “spooky."
season 4:
4x2: Home -- it would be a disservice to the show not to include this episode on the list, since it was the only one to receive a content warning
4x6: Sanguinarium
4x22: Elegy -- another ghost story!
season 5:
5x5: The Post-Modern Prometheus -- it's just so campy and different and funny! yes, there are issues with consent, but there is also the slow-dancing scene :)
5x10: Chinga -- I mean, it was written by Stephen King, so it's going to be a scary horror episode (and surprisingly shippy!)
5x12: Bad Blood -- "classic vampirism," of course.
season 6:
with the exception of "How the Ghosts Stole Christmas," (which could technically go on this list, but in my mind it is too firmly cemented as a Christmas episode) s6 doesn't really have a lot of horror either. If you squint you could count 6x10: Tithonus, 6x18: Milagro, and 6x18: Field Trip, but I don't really see any of these as true horror.
season 7:
again, not too many horror episodes, but there are a few that stand out, most notably 7x4: Millennium (we have zombies!!), 7x7: Orison, and 7x14: Theef.
season 8:
8x4: Roadrunners -- such a good (and maybe underrated?) horror episode.
for season 9, I don't really have any to list (I skipped through a lot of s9 and have been meaning to go back and watch it all eventually), and the only spooky revival episode in my mind is 11x8: Familiar.
so there you have it! that's my list of Spookiest X-Files Episodes. hope you enjoyed it!!
#i am totally fine with people reblogging this post btw :)#my plan was to binge watch all of them on october 30 and 31 but then my day didn't go as planned and i was too tired by evening#but i still plan on doing a rewatch soon#answered asks#ash friend#the x files#spooky season#belle speaks

Evan “Buck” Buckley: Words can hurt or heal him
July 2–9, 2022: Getting to know Buck & Eddie week
This post includes a detailed character study on Buck to illustrate how some of the words that were spoken to him actually hurt him, while others that were spoken to him helped to heal him.
There’s an old proverb that says, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” which originated in a book written by Alexander William Kinglake in 1844 (The Free Dictionary.com). The wording has changed from the way it was originally written over the past two centuries but children still cite this proverb today. Its meaning illustrates how children won’t allow any hurtful words that were spoken to them affect them and while that may be true for most people, it’s not true for Buck. When people call him names or hurl demeaning adjectives at him, he not only accepts it but he embraces and believes it. Then he carries those negative words around with him for a long time. Several people have said words to him that were hurtful but there have also been people who have said things to him that helped to heal him. Let’s review some of the CANON instances where Buck listened to people say things to him that either hurt or healed him.
Buck started going to therapy on his own and he had video conference sessions with Dr. Copeland in 4x2 “Alone Together”. His sessions started during the pandemic so his visits with his therapist had to take place via Facetime.
He didn’t tell anyone he was in therapy until 4x3 “Future Tense” while he was at Chimney’s apartment helping him and Maddie with their baby proofing. Once he mentioned it, Maddie became concerned especially when he told them that he wasn’t seeing a departmental therapist but that he was seeing a therapist that he chose on his own in order to talk about himself. She asked him, “What about you?” and he said, “I don’t know. Just stuff. I mean everyone has issues, right?”.
She assumed he didn’t want to elaborate in front of Chimney so she went to his loft after he left to continue their conversation. When she arrived and explained why she was there, he finally said the reason he was going to therapy was her fault. She said, “What?” and he responded, “You called me sad and lonely”. Then she responded with, “Evan that was months ago” and he replied with, “Well it’s the kind of thing that sticks with you”.
Buck was right, Maddie did call him lonely in 3x16 “The One That Got Away” during one of their conversations about Red (read blog post “Evan “Buck” Buckley: Life Lessons Learned” to learn more about how Buck thought he would end up lonely and sad like Red did before he died). After he told her about the woman who couldn’t remember who Red was and how upset Red became at him for taking him over there, Maddie said, “So, you don’t think this business with Red is hitting a little too close to home? A lonely hero firefighter who’s pining for his lost love.” He said, “That’s ridiculous! You think I’m lonely?” Even though she called him lonely more than 6 months before he decided to start going to therapy, he didn’t forget the words she said to him. He continued to worry about it and according to him, that was the main reason why he went to therapy.
When Buck was younger, his mother called him some hurtful words too. In 2004 she called him “stupid” and he remembered that during one of his flashbacks in 4x5 “Buck Begins”. Maddie spoke up and said, “Don’t talk to him like that!” which shows how she would protect him from his parents hurtful words as much as she could when she still lived in Hershey.
After he crashed his motorcycle in 2012, he went to visit Maddie at the hospital where she was working as a nurse and he told her that their parents looked at him like he was a “loser” and how he couldn’t go back there to face them. He said they looked through him instead of at him and he wanted Maddie’s help to get away from their house. He asked her if he could live with her and Doug but she said, “Things are complicated at home right now”. Therefore he had to go back home to his parents’ house because he didn’t have anywhere else to go.
When his parents found out about his crashed motorcycle, his mother said, “You’re reckless. You do dangerous things without giving them a second thought. You think you’re indestructible but you’re not”. Buck never forgot those words and he was still carrying them around with him at the age of 29. After their conversation, Maddie picked Buck up and gave him her jeep and she told him to go. He left his parents’ home that night and never returned.
There have been other people in Buck’s life outside of his blood relatives who have called him hurtful things too. In 3x5 “Rage” Eddie told him, “You’re exhausting!” during their argument in the grocery store after Buck filed a lawsuit against Bobby and the LAFD. The look on his face after Eddie said the word exhausting, showed he was hurt by it. Eddie said he was upset because Christopher missed Buck and Buck hadn’t contacted them since before he “filed that stupid lawsuit”.
Taylor said a lot of hurtful words to Buck in 4x8 “Breaking Point”. She embarrassed him in front of Veronica and Albert when she said, “Buck can sometimes be intimidated by strong women. He needs a good ego stoke every now and then”. After she walked out of Veronica’s apartment, Buck chased her and said, “Taylor it’s not what you think” and she responded, “Oh that you really didn’t want to see me? You just needed them to see you with me. God you are so needy.” Then she proceeded to tell him that he was a bad friend since she felt like he had invited her there under false pretenses. Based on the look he displayed on his face, the words she said to him cut deep and they were just like some of the words his mother said to him when he was young (read blog post: “Evan “Buck” Buckley: Taylor Kelly was the “Random Girl” in a bar” and “All of Buck’s Women” to learn more about how Taylor would reward Buck’s recklessness and say hurtful words to him just like his mother did).
Even though there have been a lot of hurtful words said to Buck by people he believed cared about and loved him, there have also been people who have said words that helped to heal him. He’s also said words that showed how he feels about himself and how he’s trying to move forward.
Buck told Bobby in 3x6 “Monsters”, “It’s like the uniform is my costume. You know I put it on and suddenly I’m brave and I’m strong. I make a difference. It feels like without it I’m not much of anything”. Then Bobby said, “Buck, you saved two lives without the uniform. It’s not a costume, it’s who you are”. Bobby’s words helped Buck to understand the uniform is not the thing that makes him Buck because he was already brave and strong even without it. His words helped Buck to realize that he can still make a difference and feel like he matters whether he wears the uniform or not.
In 4x5 “Buck Begins”, Buck was feeling like he didn’t know who he was or who he was supposed to be after he learned a family secret that included the reasons why he was conceived and born (read blog post: “Evan “Buck” Buckley: Life Lessons Learned” to learn more about why Buck was born). He was inside of a warehouse trying to rescue a victim and he almost gave up. When Bobby told Athena that Buck stayed inside of the warehouse to save the last victim, she said that she wasn’t surprised and that the person he saved was probably glad he was being Buck. He said he didn’t know what being Buck meant and she replied, “You never give up. That’s what being Buck means to me. But whatever you do, don’t stop!” His facial expression immediately showed how her words of encouragement not only helped him but they also healed him a little bit too.
Buck went to visit Maddie after he spoke with his parents not long after the warehouse fire. He told her their parents asked him to forgive them and he said that he did. She said, “Wow. That must have been difficult?” and he said, “The thing is not really. It’s hard to feel betrayed by someone you didn’t really think you could count on anyway. And easy to lash out at the person you know is always going to forgive you”. Buck realized after everything that happened with his parents and after he learned the secret they finally revealed to him about his birth, that he does have some say so over how he feels about situations and that he has the ability to move past some of the hurtful things that happened to him. He also realized that he can make the decision to be better for himself and he doesn’t have to wait for anyone’s approval to do so.
In 4x14 “Survivors” Eddie finally told Buck that he put him in his will and named him to be Christopher’s legal guardian in the event that Eddie unexpectedly passed away. Buck was shocked and asked him why he waited one year to tell him about it since he made the change after The Well incident (read blog post: “Buck & Eddie: The Will & Legal Guardianship” to learn more about Eddie’s will and the events that led him to make the change). Eddie said, “Because Evan. You came in here the other day and said, you thought it would have been better if it were you who had been shot. You act like you’re expendable, but you’re wrong!” Eddie’s words not only helped Buck to understand that his life is meaningful and valuable but they also helped him to realize that both Eddie and Christopher need him. One of Buck’s biggest fears is that he will be left behind. Eddie changing his will to include Buck helped him heal a little bit more since he now knows that he’s needed.
In 5x18 “Starting Over”, Buck made the decision to end his relationship with Taylor after she broke his trust. When Taylor said, “You knew who I was when you started dating me” and he said, “I guess I thought I could learn to live with it”, he was finally starting his own self-healing journey. She replied, “I don’t want to be something you have to learn to live with” and he responded, “I don’t want to keep on making the same mistakes”. Buck was finally working towards being a better version of himself who would no longer allow people to hurt him and he not do anything about it. He made the decision to end it on his own and he exhaled after she left his loft.
Buck has experienced a lot of things throughout his life and while some of them were hurtful, some of them have helped to heal things that have plagued him for many years. Even though he hasn’t mentioned therapy in a while, he did say in 4x6 “Jinx” that his parents agreed to attend a couple of sessions with him and that he was tired of looking in the past. He told Eddie, Hen and Chimney that he wanted to move forward. Has Buck resumed his therapy sessions with Dr. Copeland? If not, will he resume them later during season 6? Will he be allowed to continue his healing journey in season 6? Only the showrunners, writers and producers know the answers to those questions.

Followers: In the four-digit numbers somehow
Average hours of sleep: I don’t have an average because I don’t have a sleep schedule whatsoever
Lucky number: I have a difficult relationship with numbers because of ocd (4 is the worst, 2 is bad unless it’s for a couple of matching things in which case it’s the best, 5 is good, 3 is even better, 9 should be excellent because it’s 3x3 but it’s too far from the beginning, 7 is good if you don’t think about how it’s 3+3+1 which means it has 2 types of numbers and 2 as you know is bad, 6 is bad because it’s 3x2 so I count to 9 instead since it’s not as far from it as it is from the beginning, 8 is pretty bad because it’s 4x2 which are the worst numbers but for some reason I don’t hate it as much as those numbers separately or 6, and 1 is a non-number)
Instruments: I always see this question. Does everyone know how to play an instrument except me?
What am I wearing: ...a blanket
Dream job: One that would pay me without me having to work
Dream trip: No dream trip, I just have a list of places I really want to visit. It’s long
Favourite food: I have a lot of favourites! Currently craving some soup
Nationality: Russian
Favourite song: Impossible to answer, haha. Here’s one of all-time favourites
Last book I read: Oh boy. I don’t remember. I haven’t read any in the last couple of months
Top 3 fictional universes I’d like to live in: Hmm, besides the HP universe? I don’t know. I gravitate towards cyberpunk, but I wouldn’t want to live in a cyberpunk dystopia (joke’s on me, we’re already living in it), and I don’t believe in utopias. And most fantasy worlds have no appeal to me. Harry Potter it is!
Tagging @kattlupin, @direwolf-summer, @reytheghost and anyone else who feels like doing it and has time to waste :)
#if i have any ocd folks following me... hit me up with your good and bad numbers#let’s find patterns#oh. that’s very ocd of me actually#tag game#non hp

by the by, I'm the anon who assailed you with the three "anime garou is too fucking chunky" asks so long ago. now, seeing his official character sheet, i finally grasp the cause of my misery. kubota-san, dear as he be, went purblind. can you look me in the eye and say that what's on that sheet is how he has ever looked in the manga? i won't actually hear the answer because i obviously came here to cavil,
and cavil about that disproportionate disgrace for whom i set the bar low yet he defiantly slithered beneath it, i would, expect i would more like to offer this prospect: season tres. done by Bones. famed for their sublime design, eminent animators and immodest animations, these brave men could give me & us that slender, clad-in-black-and-blood garou i craved and never received under Japan Creative Staff’s reign. just imagine that lean body done with the care reigen’s flat ass never received! that one exposed hip bone could enchant the masses! the bones magic applied on that 4x2 could do wonders! that chiseled back would apply boners! picture that ugly deathclaw on lovecraft steroids look in bone-chilling hd! imagine the staff of studio bones personally coming out of the screen during the Eye Scene and beating the shit out of you to apply both internal and external pain! is that not the kind of sincere dedication to the craft and anime man objectification this adaptation(& me) needs?
Oho ah yes, hello there again! :’D I had a feeling it was you, as who could ever forget your characteristically passionate and humorous way with words waxing such reverent & thirsty poetic about Garou! There’s only one person I recognize who regularly writes about him like that!
But I hear you, seeing his character sheet (from here) explained a lot about how much his model often varied on screen.
I can understand what happened, as it only reiterates how difficult it is to nail his body type down (he’s more slender and lithe; toned and coiled for unpredictable counter bursts of speed/power rather than a sharp beefy dorito who hulks around looking slower/older than he actually is). Murata draws a very fine line for him (absolutely no one compares to Murata’s no chill thirst for him), and these are just some of the moments I hope to see done with flourish in an eventual s3:
Mmdamn, and there’s still so much more; this is only just a tease of what to expect from him next season! ;o; Ideally, BONES would be my studio of choice to adapt this as well (with the same attention given to fma and mob), as they can specialize in delivering that raw, kinetic energy full of bold & stylized momentum, which is closer in spirit to Murata’s art rather than the clean and gorgeous 3d-enhanced special effects and sweeping camera angles (which is where ufotable specializes). Of course, who can say for sure what might happen next time, given the scheduling and how booked many studios are. I can only hope an eventual s3 gets made though, as many viewers still have yet to see the best of Garou we’ve all been waiting for. ;A;
#Anonymous#replies#opm#garou#(oho there are some standout unabashed garoufuckers from reddit...and i'm 99% sure i know which handle this is ahaha)#but hhh yup there's still so much more of him i want to see animated#what comes next that we'll hopefully see in s3 is some of my fav stuff in the manga too#BONES going from their reigen thirst to garou thirst would be practically a given ahaha#their potential really could do mindblowing wonders!#for now we can only wait and see what happens :'D

Fluffy Fridays—Chapter 142: The Ice Wall
Fluffy Fridays—Chapter 142: The Ice Wall
Pairing: Captain Swan
Summary: A series of unrelated, fluffy one shots featuring Killian Jones and Emma Swan and the relationship that makes us all swoon. Will contain both canon and AU stories. My contribution to Operation Rainbow Kisses and Unicorn Stickers (aka, my attempt to drown out the season 4 finale angst with ridiculous levels of fluff.)

Cold.
It was the first thing Emma noticed when she came to. It was cold. The kind of cold that reaches down your throat and freezes your lungs. The kind of cold that seeps into your very bones. The kind of cold that convinces you you’ll never be warm again.
Emma groaned, reaching behind her to gingerly prod the knot on her head as the ringing in her ears gave way to frantic shouts of her name.
“Swan! Wake up love! Say you’re alright!”
Emma groaned again, finally opening her eyes to look into the terrified face of her….well, whatever Killian was to her now.
“What happened?” she asked, her words slurred, as she continued rubbing at her aching head with hands that were starting to go numb with the cold.
Killian sat on the ground beside her and gently pulled her into his warmth. “That woman we saw, she trapped us in the ice wall.”
It all came back to her at once. The town power going out. Her and David investigating. The ice wall. Killian showing up, swaggering over to them. His quip about their second date. The woman with the icy blue dress and pale blonde braid watching them. Her going to investigate. Killian following. The woman pointing a hand at them, fear on her face. The deafening roar of falling ice…
Emma got quickly to her feet, swaying a bit as her head protested the quick movement, and rushed to the wall.
It wouldn’t budge. None of them would.
They were trapped in a space roughly the size of her parents’ living room…a space completely made of ice.
No wonder she was cold.
“Killian, we’ve got to get out of here!” she said frantically. “We’ll freeze to death!”
Killian put a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Calm down, Swan,” he said in a soothing voice. “I’ve already tried digging us out with my hook. It’s no use.”
“Calm down?” she asked, hearing the hysteria starting in her voice. “You just told me we’re stuck in ice that we can’t dig ourselves out of and you want me to calm down? We can’t just give up!”
Killian pulled her into a hug. “We won’t. Your father called us on your talking device. He’s gone for help.”
Emma remained tense in his embrace for a moment, but then the warmth of his body, the comfort his reassurances always brought began to seep in. She relaxed in his hold letting the panic bleed away.
Emma looked up at him. “How long was I out?”
“Perhaps a minute?” He said. “You were hit quite hard with a shard of ice, love.”
“That why it feels like Grumpy and all six of his brothers are using their pickaxes on the back of my skull?”
He laughed. “I’d assume so.” His face became serious. “Are you sure you’re alright, Swan?”
She waved him off. “Concerned I’m going to freeze to death, but otherwise nothing more than a little headache.”
Killian didn’t look entirely convinced, but after a moment, he let the matter go with a small nod.
“You sure there’s no way to dig ourselves out?” Emma asked.
He gave her a quick, assessing look. “I’m quite sure we have no hope of digging ourselves out via natural means, but perhaps…”
“Perhaps what?”
Killian took both her hands looking intently at her. “Perhaps your magic…”
Magic. Right. She was still getting used to the fact that she had magic. (How did a normal person get used to a fact like that?!)
Emma nodded firmly (and then immediately regretted it as her head throbbed) and raised her hands before her. She closed her eyes, concentrating. Thinking about the wall melting. Thinking about saving herself and Killian. Thinking about saving Henry and the rest of the town from whoever this new threat was.
Nothing happened.
She tried again.
Still nothing.
Emma growled. “I’m sorry Killian. I don’t know if it’s the cold or the bump on my head or what, but I just can’t summon my magic.”
Killian led her over to a wall and urged her to sit. “It’s no matter Swan. As I said, your father has gone for help. It’s simply a matter of waiting this out.”
The ice wall was cold behind her, below her, her body heat melting it just enough for icy water to seep onto her jeans. She shivered, teeth chattering with the cold. Why hadn’t she thought to bring a parka when she left the house this evening?
Killian glanced over at her, noting the way she shivered so much her teeth chattered. Shrugging out of his heavy pirate duster, he draped it around her shoulders. The warmth, the smell of leather and him, it was immediate and quite possibly the best thing she’d ever felt.
Emma luxuriated in comfort for a moment before turning back to him. “Killian, I can’t take your coat! You’ll freeze in nothing but that vest and shirt that makes me think you’re allergic to buttons.”
He laughed and then gave her a teasing grin. “Perhaps you’ll need to warm me up, then.”
Emma looked into Killian’s face and an intense feeling of affection, maybe…maybe even more…washed over her, warming her as much as his coat did. Turning to him, she reached up, tugging at the back of his neck until she’d brought his lips to hers.
The kiss was long, slow, infinitely tender, Killian reaching up to cup the back of her head, let her hair slip through his fingers, much like it had when she’d kissed him outside Granny’s the other day.
Whatever this was between them it was real, and it was happening. Emma waited for the fear to come, but it never did. This felt right. Maybe even with all the crap that always went down in this stupid town…maybe even though she was the savior…maybe every once in a while she could just enjoy and take advantage of the good moments.
Killian moaned deep in his throat (the sound positively indecent) and pulled away, resting his forehead against hers.
“As much as I’d like to follow this to it’s logical conclusion, darling,” he said, his voice hoarse, “and gods know I do, we are in a room entirely made of ice and there are simply some places a man does not wish to get frostbite.”
Emma laughed, pulling away. “Good point.”
“Besides,” he continued, draping an arm around her and nodding in contentment when she laid her head against his shoulder, “your father should be arriving momentarily, and if he’d interrupted us, I suspect frostbite would be the least of my concerns.”
Emma laughed again. “Good thing I’m a big girl and I can make my own decisions about who I kiss…and do other things with.”
His grin was wicked. “Indeed. I suppose we’ll simply need to wait for a more auspicious time to engage in our more enjoyable activities.”
Emma leaned over and kissed him again, a quick, but thorough thing. “You’re cute when you use big words.”
“If they earn me kisses like that, I’ll make use of the entire dictionary,” he said, grinning at her.
Sudden static came over Emma’s walkie talkie.
“Emma? Hook?” David asked. “Everybody doing alright in there?”
“We’re fine, Dave,” Killian answered. “Your daughter and I are quite enjoying ourselves.”
There was a beat of silence.
“You better not be enjoying yourselves too much.”
Emma rolled her eyes, taking the device from Killian. “As Killian said, we’re fine dad. What’s the status on Operation Dig Your Daughter and Her Boyfriend Out of the Ice Wall Before They Become Human Popsicles?”
“Just hold tight for another couple minutes,” David said. “Long story, but we should be able to break through momentarily.”
After signing off with her dad, Emma settled back into Killian’s embrace as they waited for David to execute whatever plan he had. “Killian?”
“Hm?” he asked, idly rubbing her arm.
“If I had to be trapped in an ice wall, there’s no one I’d rather be trapped with.”
He smiled, leaning over to kiss the top of her head. “I feel quite the same.”
Notes:
--Sorry for the long posting hiatus, but January’s been a rough month—between being sick myself a few times and then my grandma having a stroke, which brought with it a lot of stress for the whole family (she’s doing better now, although it will be a long road to recovery, and she’ll probably never fully get back to where she was before), I just haven’t had the motivation to write at all. Feels good to get back to it, even just a little.
--I don’t know how the weather’s been where you live, but the Polar Vortex in my neck of the woods has made it cold beyond cold this week…which is what inspired me to write this story. If I’m going to be cold, I might as well inflict the cold on my favorite characters as well, lol.
--Up next: I hope to update every other week going forward (barring any other illnesses or family emergencies), so next up will be something for Valentine’s Day

Tarot Tips for predictive reading
Maybe start a Tarot Journal. If you pull a card or do a reading, take notes of the spread and card positions. After whatever situation plays out you can look back and see which connections you made at the time of the reading as well as observe connections in hindsight that you missed. I know this tip is always circulated and no one wants to do it but it does make a huge difference - particularly if you wish to do predictive reading.
Pull a few cards every morning. My morning routine is generally a 3 card spread of the primary thing that will happen that day, the attitude or energy I should adopt, and a wildcard for advice, insight, or usually a hint about something on my mind that day.
Trust that the cards know more than you do. It sounds hokey. But if you keep a journal for just one month and go back and check things out in hindsight you will be amazed at the things the cards displayed before it ever happened.
You may wish to commit at least one spread to memory. A lot of readers really dig the celtic cross and use some version of it for everything. I have a very specific method I use for phone readings and other general readings where a querent can continue asking questions once I start reading, and a literal scrapbook of spreads from the internet for when I just want to entertain myself, as well as a mini celtic cross style spread I use for very specific instances.
Practice nonpositional layouts. 3x3, 4x2, however many cards you like. This really switches on the intuitive faculties when every card doesn't have to have a rigid predefined meaning based on its location and allows you to read tarot more spatially like Lenormand or certain traditions of Cartomancy.
Practice reading intuitively. Read the layout left to right, horizontal, vertical, and diagonal. If the cards and their positions seem to reinforce the meanings you know, great! If they suggest something else, let them speak.
Pull a card at the _end_ of the day. What can you relate that happened, internally or externally, to the card?
Better yet, run a 3x3 nonpositional layout at the end of each day. Do they seem to tell the story of the day? Or are they echoing your thoughts and feelings about it? Or do they seem to be telling you how you should handle the events the day brought you?
Treat all rules as dubious suggestions. If someone tells you you can't read a certain way or get a certain meaning off a certain set of cards - understand they speak only from their own experience. If your experience up to now has been different, then their rules obviously don't apply to you.
Relax. The intuitive mind and the reasoning mind are different animals. Take a deep breath and consciously slip into the percieving state and out of the judging state before you begin every reading. With practice this becomes second nature and laying out the cards will instantly switch you into the more receptive state.
Take note of the colors and images that stand out during a reading. Your eye is drawn to them for a reason.
Ask crazy specific, non open-ended questions. Pull 3 cards. What's it look like? Yeah, I know. You're not "supposed to." But its fun and very good practice if you don't care about the outcome.
Resist the temptation to continue pulling cards for nonpositional readings. Decide before hand how many cards you'll pull before you even shuffle. Trust that the answer is in that number of cards. Or go crazy and keep reading till you're bored. 3 card reading is now 78 plus runes plus dice plus oracle deck plus bone casting. Divination is fun. You may end up more confused than when you started but look at all that data you derived from random objects.
Look into pathworking. This is where you basically meditate and zone out into the imagery of a card and let it pull you in. This allows you to experience the card on a much more direct level.
Don't feel pressured to do as others do. It's an intuitive art. It's hiiiighly individual.
Don't be discouraged by others. I think a lot of readers get waaaay too defensive about it, particularly when they decide tarot is their entire identity. If you find someone is lowkey (or highkey) insulting your reading style, know that it has more to do with them than it does with you. There is no reason to go into a tailspin and doubt your own validity because someone said you HAVE to train THIS WAY from THIS TRADITION or YOU'LL NEVER READ WELL. The point is enjoyment. Not pedagogy.
Prepare a list of comebacks for when someone asks "oh did you see that in your cards? Derpderpderp" "No. But I did see you'd be smelling STRAIGHT UP LIKE A BAG OF OLD SCROTUMS TODAY! :D"
If you have even one friend who is ohkay with you reading on them - they are a jackpot of experience. Read on them every so often and write down your observations. Ask them how their day went and check your notes. How close were you?
Practice reading on situations you care literally nothing about. Without the emotional barrier getting in your way, you maaay just be amazed at the things you can get out of a reading.
Do you really wanna read on something but have no idea what? Make up a hypothetical person that doesn't exist. Let the cards tell you about their life. The point is to get experience drawing meaningful information from the cards.
Ask your cards to tell you the emotional states of an artist when they wrote a specific song. What kind of feelings show up in the song _and_ in the cards?
Lean into your intuition. Hard. Particularly when you need more clarity about a card. Is it that you need more clarity? Or that you're hoping to confirm or deny your first instinct? Write that stuff down too.
Go with your _first_ interpretation when you see a card on the table. Yes, you've studied hard. Yes, you know 24 different meanings for The Moon. Yes, they are all wildly incompatible. Which one came to your mind first? Which meaning seems to _usually_ hold true? Which one makes the most sense, given the other cards around it?
Practice spotting tarot imagery in day to day life and relating it to things going on around you. Include these observations in your notes if you decide to journal your experiences.
Learn how your own mind works in relation to the cards as well as which cards come up during certain moods. The cards are a better mirror than they are a roadmap. List your moods and current anxieties in your journal too.
Don't read in a highly emotional state. You won't see clearly anyway and you'll jump at shadows and throw your bloodpressure out of whack. Which brings me to my next tip:
Practice detachment from specific outcomes.
Set a timer for five minutes and have a friend ask you a question. How many connections can you make in five minutes? This sounds counterintuitive but I find being under a limit really knocks me right out of my own way and often brings a flood of information. This may not work for everyone but it's worked for me.
Go through your deck and just admire the imagery. I'm a big believer that divination is fun and the tools are beautiful. Take time to appreciate them.
Practice building stories with the cards. Let court cards be actors in the stories, majors be big moments, motivations, and attitudes, and minors be choices, interactions and struggles.
Combine tarot with other divination methods. The results are often very fun.
Understand the future is not fixed and that divination can make you very very harried if you let it. This is why they say don't read for yourself: you can and might, occasionally, get mighty spooked. Don't attempt to read predictively if you're feeling overwhelmed or anxious. Better to read reflectively in that case.
Research The Fool's Journey. You don't -have- to do it. But I don't -regret- doing it.
Avoid the temptation to read and reread whatever situation is bugging you. Do one reading, get all you can out of it, and wait till something has changed to read again on that topic. A common tip but one worth following. It's better to note your observations and see which assumptions were correct than to keep reading until you get an outcome you like. Not only because it can trip you up emotionally to get invested in the outcomes of your readings but because its important to note how and when you assume the worst- this will be revealed in your notes and once you start to notice those trends you can get a stronger handle on whats genuine intuitive information - and what's just you, being human and assuming the worst.
Most of these tips are meant to illustrate that depending on the situation - the little white book meanings (or the sparkly online meanings. Or the dusty library book meanings.) for every card may not hold for every reader. These methods allow you to make your own connections between events and the cards and thus learn what they're trying to say when they show up for you. That's the _real_ point.
Maybe a journal isn't for you. Maybe a flashdrive of pictures of layouts with textfiles is more your jam? Or a huge pdf you can add to as you go along? Or a google drive? Or a whole private blog? Use what gets you excited and works well for you.

up by 5am Malaysia time just now. Tengok, berapa banyak plastik anda makan?
Seumur hidup, pengguna mengambil kira-kira 20 kg mikroplastik.
Seseorang itu boleh memakan plastik bersamaan dengan sekeping kad kredit seminggu, maklum satu kajian pada tahun 2019 oleh WWF International.

"She chose me. She’s helping me."
Random opposites, possible predictions. There are many.
What I like about S7 is how it not only ties in Kate’s final words to Liz, but how it runs complete opposite. The reason Liz wasn’t supposed to kill the woman from Paris when she had the chance. The woman pushes the next big bad. I spoke of this many times.
Kate: Elizabeth, if you get out of the car, you choose Raymond.
Woman: I’m giving them a choice. Dembe made the right one. If it comes down to it, one day, I hope you will too.
Liz chose the truth over Red by getting out of the car. She plans to kill the truth, that’s why she’s planning to kill Red. "Lizzy, your mother is dead." Opposite dead men. Dead women tell no tales. Even about their wombs. In a nutshell, Liz isn’t supposed to kill Red. If she does, she won’t learn his truth.
Kate: If you stay, you choose the truth.
Woman: You wanted the truth. I’ve given it to you. It’s up to you what you do with it.
Quick side notes -
“It’s up to you what you do with it” This runs opposite Red’s dialogue to Kate in 4x22. “What have you done?” It also pulls in Tom. “He will do what he does.” Liz runs opposite Tom in that dialogue. “You make it sound like she has no choice.” The shark within Liz can choose to stop swimming and eating. “But at least if he's doing it for me, he won't risk a double-cross...” This is where the woman from Paris pushes the next big bad.
Katarina Rostova died of weakness and shame. Liz had to watch the woman from Paris die right in front of her. Had she stayed in the car, she'd have chosen a lie. "She has no idea who you are. Me? I’m her mother." How would she have chosen a lie? Through the woman’s voicemail. Dembe will delete it. “Well, that would be the last lie you ever told.”
The point. They’re back at 4x22 with yet another opposite.
“Katarina Rostova committed suicide in 1990.” From a shooting to a suicide with Kate.
Liz: We gotta help her. Reddington’s gonna kill her. "I never should’ve pulled that trigger in the first place." From a suicide to a shooting with Katarina.
Liz: He’s going to kill her. Reddington’s on his way to kill my mother.
“I can’t let you leave.”
Death opposites. Kate walked to her death surrounded by trees in 4x2. “I’m standing before a stranger.” Katarina walked to her Cape May water death in 3x19. “...and was never seen again.” Kate’s death triggering the release of Red’s truth. Red revealing his truth, a resurrection. Katarina runs opposite Kate, water and woods. Their difference is trust and choice. Choice aspect. Kate didn’t have a choice in the woods, Red wasn’t going to let her walk away. Katarina didn’t have a choice, she had to walk into Cape May waters. Trust aspect. Kate didn’t have to jump to her death, that was her choice because she didn’t trust Red. Whether Red lives or dies should be his choice. If he tells Liz his truth out of trust, which is his choice, he’ll be spared a bullet at Tansi Farms. If not, he’ll be shot and buried there. That’s what I should predict anyway because those are the opposites. Again, the trust aspect. Kate standing by Red’s side for 30 years, then turning her back on him. Katarina not standing by Liz’s side for 30 years, then facing her. Perhaps it’s not so much Red’s trust in Liz but Liz’s trust in Red. I suppose we’ll see. Even the unicorn opposite falls in for Kate and Katarina.
Red’s “The real estate equivalent of a unicorn.” Brimley’s “Like being impaled by a unicorn.”
Liz already impaled Red in S6. Red’s turn to impale Liz with the woman’s death.
The last opposite is the father tied into the next big bad.
"...because dead men tell no tales. Even about their seed.”
Opposites for everything, including the DNA report.
Kate with the suitcase of bones. Cooper with the Seaduke evidence. Both DNA samples of a dead man. The DNA results on Raymond’s bones weren’t revealed until 5x22. The opposite of this holds true for Tom. They revealed Christopher in S4. That’s why dead men tell no tales. In a nutshell, there’s no need to run a Seaduke-like test on Tom. One was already done. He came back to life to save Scottie, as she spoke of in Ruin. Just a DNA test on a living father opposite the DNA test on the bones of a death father. Opposite the Seaduke test because Cooper thought Red was the real Red, so he thought he was a living father. Confusing, I know, but that happens with opposites.
Lie -- Living father through Cooper’s test. Truth -- Dead father unearthed by Kate.
Lie -- Dead father through S4 storyline. Truth -- Living father through Ressler’s DNA test.
The opposites are there for the next big bad. This whole father-in-law hates his son-in-law becomes this whole mother-in-law hates her daughter-in-law. As I’ve said many times before, a mutual enemy that causes Liz to spare Red. I think it’s quite possible we see a stepfather for Tom to run opposite Kirk. The Shaw-Stark opposites are there. Perhaps Agnes was supposed to be born a boy, and that’s why Red can’t donate to Agnes, which will push Ressler to donate. Because Red was born a girl. As I’ve said before, this idea ties in their “fate” dialogues. Stark’s treatment wasn’t supposed to work. It’ll push Ressler to look at Red’s medical file. These are the Shaw-Stark opposites. I believe Ressler is gonna return the favor - directly saving Red’s life opposite Garrick’s episode and opposite his Brussels mission. Two truths at once. Tom is an imposter, and so is the woman from Paris. This will leave Red’s truth for Red to tell. Peace through two Wicked Wolves - the woman from Paris and Agnes’ name on her passport. Scottie should push for the opposite of Kirk mother vs mother instead of father vs father until they reveal Rederina. There are so many opposites for the father, I could keep going. But yeah... Scottie and Red should run opposite Kirk and Red in 4x8. That’s when Liz’s Freelancer DNA test will run opposite Red’s whisper. "I’m coming for you. Nothing else matters.” Back to Kirk asking Red if he’s her father. “It doesn’t matter.” Love matters and love wins.

Used Mahindra Scorpio Review
Improved refinement and greater attention to detail in the cabin has improved Mahindra's rugged Scorpio even further. We took it for an extended drive down the KZN coast.
What's new?
The new grille, headlamp and foglight changes combine to give the Scorpio's front-end quite an aggressive appearance.
The Mahindra Scorpio for sale may be no spring chicken but continuous refinement has seen it become quite a popular (and cost-effective) alternative for adventurous families in need of a rugged, spacious SUV. The latest S11 derivative, as reviewed here, features a number of small, but ultimately very worthwhile changes compared with its S10 predecessor. Visually, there's a new grille, tweaks to the head- and taillamps, foglights, side mirrors, rear step, tailgate and also a new-look alloy wheel.
Inside, the previous car's lighter trim has been replaced by black semi-leather which doesn't only look more upmarket, but also shouldn't show dirt so easily. There's also a practical new slot in front of the gear lever with a charge point.
Mechanically there are no changes.
Spacious and well equipped
Neat facia design and good build quality evident in the cabin. Darker seat trim also an improvement.
The current Scorpio's underpinnings can be traced back to 2002, and so this SUV is rather old-school in its overall architecture. Of course, for some potential customers that rugged, "ready-for-safari" appearance is very much part of the appeal, but it's also very divisive. You'll know around which camp fire you sit...
Nevertheless, its boxiness has advantages, notably in terms of cabin space and practicality. Inside, the upright windows and box-like design result in a very spacious, airy cabin with great outward visibility. It really should be a very a good safari vehicle. It also packs 3 rows of seats into a fairly compact body – the Scorpio is more than 300mm shorter than a Toyota Fortuner. The difference is that the rearmost row is a bench and not 2 individual seats, which makes the Scorpio an 8-seater.
Second row passengers get their own ventilation outlets and a neat, rubberised storage area.
Of course, with 8 occupants on board the space for luggage is actually negligible and those in the 2nd row will have to slide their seats quite far forward to allow those in the back some kneeroom. During our time in KZN, we chose to remove the third-row bench completely (an easy-enough exercise) and leave it at the hotel, which frees up a LOT of packing space in the boot.
What will also appeal to consumers that need a vehicle such as this (and at this price), is the fact that the Scorpio is by no means a bare-boned, agricultural machine. You get a 6-inch touch-screen infotainment system (USB/aux/bluetooth and DVD compatible), navigation, rear-view camera, remote audio controls, cruise control, rear park sensors, auto wipers, electric windows all-round and climate control, among other features.
Neat, modern instrument cluster and multi-function leather-bound steering wheel are standard.
On the safety side the specification is not as comprehensive, which is to be expected given the inherent age of the platform and the price. Included are dual front airbags and ABS (with EBD). We would've liked to see the addition of at least ESP (electronic stability) to that list.
Niggles? Well, the front footwells are quite narrow and the steering wheel lacks reach adjustment. The touchscreen is perhaps also mounted too low, and it demands the driver taking his/her eyes off the road for too long to operate.
Performance and Economy
The 2.2L turbodiesel engine delivers its impressive power (88kW) smoothly. It's more refined than most people expect.
As was the case when we evaluated the facelifted Pik-Up (essentially a double-cab bakkie version of the Scorpio), we came away impressed with Mahindra's 2.2L turbodiesel engine, even though it isn't the same 103kW/320Nm version used in the Pik-Up, but rather a lower-output 88kW/280Nm variant. The towing capacity (1900kg braked) might be too low for some potential customers, but if that's not a barrier to purchase we suspect most owners will be more than happy with the blend of performance and efficiency.
Mahindra claims a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 7.3L/100km and we achieved 8L/100km during our week of travel with 4 occupants on mixed terrain and highways/gravel/rural roads. The Scorpio's tank size is 60L, so a range of over 700km should be achievable. We think the fuel consumption could possibly be even further improved by the addition of a 6th gear.
Stubby front-end and four-wheel drive (with low-range) is good for off-roading.
The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission (old-school long throw but feels strong) that drives the rear wheels, but shift-on-the-fly 4-four-wheel drive is part of the package. In fact, there's low-range too, so you could traverse reasonably rough terrain in this Scorpio. Mahindra quotes a ground clearance of only 165mm, but this appears to be an error. We suspect a figure well above 200mm applies.
On the (long) road
With a commanding view of the road, great outward visibility and a soft ride set-up, the Scorpio is a relaxed touring vehicle. It's very different to more modern sports-oriented SUVs in that it encourages the driver to take it easy... Nevertheless, recent suspension changes has not only made it more refined, but also more stable. It resists overt bodyroll well and the steering is nicely weighted.
LED "eyebrows" and new-look 17-inch wheels are modern additions to a design that dates back to 2002.
We traversed some fairly rough gravel sections, too, and here the extra ground clearance and suspension set-up certainly came in handy. In fact, the Scorpio seems a very good fit for an owner that will travel on mixed surfaces daily.
The engine is a refined, smooth offering so combined with the last round of sound deadening improvements, the result is a largely quiet and relaxed cabin ambience. Only wind noise can become intrusive due to the boxy design and upright sides. The wind was howling on our first day in KZN and on a few occasions it managed to actually make the insulating door rubbers pull free of the door aperture at the top.
Verdict
Need an adventure SUV on a tight budget? The Mahindra Scorpio S11 4x4 has no obvious rival in the new vehicle local market.
The used Scorpio S11 for value for money, particularly if you want space and four-wheel drive. GWM no longer offers an H5 with four-wheel drive, but even if 4x2 would suffice, the H5 lacks the Scorpio's seating capacity and features. Then there's something like the outgoing Renault Duster diesel 4x4, but that's a much smaller vehicle... Alternatively, you'll have to consider a used vehicle – for similar money you can get a 3- to 4-year old (previous shape) Toyota Fortuner 3.0 D-4D 4x4 with more than 100 000km on the odo.
Further sweetening the deal, the Scorpio comes backed with a 3-years/100 000 km warranty and 3-years/70 000km service plan as standard. Servicing intervals are lengthy at 20 000km.
To summarise... you may end up buying a Scorpio because of its exceptional pricing, but there's more to it than that. Rugged, surprisingly refined and efficient, while offering good potential seating space/practicality for a variety of uses, the Scorpio S11 is possibly one of the few cars on the market that could genuinely be described as a bargain.
They’re well-made and up for a challenge - even the older Scorpios hold their own and they’re even more affordable at Group 1 Mahindra.

Yes, this turbocharged, V-8 powered "Desert Runner" is based on Nissan's now-ancient Frontier mid-size pickup, but don't let that discourage you. Nissan has proven that with a little help there's still some life left in the Frontier's old bones. The Frontier may be old news, but Nissan's partners don't let that get in the way of having fun.
