hiii Wren here! so this is basically a fresh restart of @pinkhairandpokemon. I decided it would be fun to start at the beginning of their Unova arc this time around. they’re 18 here, and just starting the main story of pokemon black!
I just got kinda… unmotivated to run their old blog anymore?? so I decided it was time for a refresh. SUPER excited to rp as this version of them
this Blake is probably going to be more… standoffish? I guess? not all-out mean but they’re kind of bitchier in this arc of their story (tbf they deserve to be after the shit they went through-) so while they’ll typically be chill in normal interactions they might be like. be a bit more snarky. I’m always scared of being too mean when I rp so please let me know if I need to tone it down!! ;w;
they’ll also probably be a little more discreet about being a chosen. for now anyway :3c they’ll still talk a bit about it but they won’t go super in detail about their powers
mod is 21, and follows from @scrappyscales, but if you need to contact me OOC go to @xgoldenlatiasx

giving pokemon teams to d20 characters!
The Unsleeping City S1 & S2
pt 2/?
part 1 || part 2
second verse same as the first, check out part one for my guidelines on how i made the teams! short version is only 4 pokemon per team, no repeats, and little to no shinies or legendaries
fun fact the unsleeping city was actually the first season i thought of pokemon for, and why i started to make teams in the first place!
i also like unsleeping city a uhhh a lot less than fantasy high so my fantasy high picks (part 1) are a lot more thought out and maybe cooler than these picks but hey i'm still happy with these!
oh also unsleeping ch. 1 and 2 spoilers ahead of course :]
Sophia
Purugly - symbolizing La Gran Gata! also it just feels like Sophia would have this pokemon it fits her Vibe
Furfrou (Heart Trim) - she is a hair stylist!! of course she would have the hair stylized dog!!! she mainly keeps her as the heart trim but it doesnt 100 percent always stay that way
Mienshao - cool and cute monk pokemon for obvious reasons lol
Raticate - represents kugrash after he dies(?). shockingly the raticate and purugly get along well, and are actually pretty nice with each other
Ricky
Boltund - there’s no dalmatian pokemon (which there should be maybe) so this is the closest i got to representing Ox! boltunds are VERY fast though so it still works lol
Blastoise - what better pokemon to have as a fireman than a giant water tank? probably got a squirtle when he was young and it evolved as he grew up :]
Kleavor - represents the fireman ax he carried
Machamp - Ricky is all about exercise so naturally i gave him the super buff pokemon. they probably train together and like do pushups or whatever fit people do
Kingston
Dachsbun - representing both the dog he gets in season 2 along with bagels in general, which seems to be a symbol for him (see the vox populi pin)
Drampa - similar to how i imagine the dragon of bleaker’s street would look, it also just feels like an old man of a pokemon (which kingston is)
Blissey - i like to imagine doctors/nurses get blisseys once they like are hired in healthcare to help their trainers with the patients (and also blisseys are absolute TANKS in terms of defense)
Magnezone - Kingston did that cool tech shutdown/takeover thing in one of the season one battles at the stock market and i thought that was cool. and also it fits because Vibes
Misty / Rowan
Gardevoir - a beautiful pokemon that always looks youthful, just like Rowan
Primarina - a singing pokemon that wouldve helped Misty practice her singing for plays
Meloetta - same reason, a singing pokemon lol
Scream Tail - rather than a standard Jigglypuff i would like to imagine an ancient thousand year old one was much more interesting! it also ties to Rowan's reincarnation thing she has goin' on
Iga
Goodra - a dragon to represent the storybook dragon inside of the chest she has! i didn’t do charizard because i saved that one for a future season team (take a guess who)
Gimmighoul - a chest pokemon because. she. she has a chest thats very important to her. yeah!!!
Perrserker - pure vibes i just feel she would have this pokemon lol
Hatterene - also mostly vibes, she Is a psychic so it works but yeah she gets a hatterene because i say so
Kugrash
Rapidash (Galarian) - unicorn totem
Unfezant (Male) - spicy pigeon totem
Ladyba - juicy cockroach totem (i didn’t do kricketune because i want to use it for a later team. can you again guess who)
Arceus - our first true legendary! kugrash literally becomes omnipotent so you know what he can have pokemon god on his team
Cody
Aegislash (Shiny) - it’s literally The sword pokemon of course Cody would have one. it’s shiny because if he spent a long time growing his real sword collection he can spend a long time finding a shiny. also it’s black and red like Thirsting Blade Dark Excalibur Mega Genesis
Grimmsnarl - the most emo pokemon ive ever seen so of course Cody gets it. as a treat
Houndoom - “but aloe why didn’t you give this to Fig?!” shshhhshshhhh. listen my sweet child. houndoom is for the emo boys. which Cody is. and also also it parallels the other paladin on the team, Ricky, and his dog pokemon, Boltund. does that make sense….
Corviknight - emo pokemon #3 on the team. also knight means sword so in a roundabout way it’s another sword related pokemon
Pete
Polteageist - Pete has a teapot in his official art and while yes. it is blue and so is the non-shiny form i think purple in general fits Pete a LOT more than blue so here we are lol
Musharna - literally the dream pokemon this was an easy peasy pick and very obvious
Hypno - another dream-like pokemon but much more scary to maybe represent a sort of nightmare compared to the sweeter dreams from Musharna
Vivillion (Garden Pattern) - representing Luna his green butterfly familiar! i feel like everyone (including the PCs) forget Luna exists and it makes me a little sad :(
=====
that's all for this new york team! i plan on doing a crown of candy next :]
have any suggestions or changes you would make? let me know i would love to hear your takes on the teams :D!

Chapter 4) This Son of a Boltund
PREVIOUSLY
"As punishment for today's infractions, Yuu, Ace, and Grim are all hereby ordered to wash a hundred windows!" Crowley declared with a glare, "you will all meet in the cafeteria after your classes. Are we clear?" "Yes sir."
NOW. . .
Yuu, Grim, and Agent stood in the cafeteria waiting for Ace to arrive so they could get this punishment over with. "I'm already exhausted from a full day of cleanin'. I can't believe we still gotta wash a hundred windows!" Grim complained while laying on of of the tables. "Well, it is yours and Ace's fault that we're in this mess, so suck it up and try to learn from the experience." They said to him while searching through their back before their eyes widened, "it is in here!" They yelled taking out a box that Agent recognized.
"Mmmm, what's bugging me is that Ace ain't even here yet!" His attention was then grabbed by the object in the trainer's hand. "What is that?" He asked standing up to get a better look at the box. "It's my pokebox, it lets me switch out what Pokémon are on my team, usually I can access it through my rotom phone but I guess it got disconnected when we were brought into this world." They said with a grin, "Agent you wanna see Cinder?" They asked teasingly to their starter. The Inteleon nodded "Teleon!"
Yuu grins and takes out Snom's pokeball from their belt as they set the box onto the table allowing the little stand to come out. They placed Snom's pokeball on the stand and took out their Rotom Phone to scroll through their boxes before choosing Cinder. The box sucked Snom's pokeball inside and released Cinder's, Yuu grins putting the box back in their bag, "Alright Cinder, come on out!" They said throwing the ball into the air, a bipedal, white, rabbit-looking pokemon materialized from the white light. "Cinderace!" It yelled with a smile.
"Cinder, welcome back girl!" Yuu said giving their Cinderace a hug which she happily returned before looking around and spotting her mate "race!" She yelled letting go of her trainer before hugging Agent.
Yuu let the two Pokemon catch up to eachother and looked around realizing that Ace still wasn't there yet. "Alright, where is that dumb ginger? It's been at least half an hour since their classes released." They said annoyed, Grim nodded in agreement "he's super late! I bet he up and bailed on us!" Yuu sighed, "it's possible," they mumbled pinching the bridge of their nose before exhaling. "Let's go look for him Grim."
"Ain't no way am I doin' his punishment!" Grim agreed "I don't care if we gotta drag him kickin' and screamin', he's washin' those windows!" He yelled before the two of them went off, Agent and Cinder following behind them. When they got to Ace's classroom Grim ran in yelling, "hey Ace! get over here! Try to hide from me, will ya!" Only to pause seeing the room empty aside from a painting. "Huh...Maybe there's really no one here?" He asked looking behind the desks.
"Oh, I wouldn't say that. I'm here." The painting spoke up causing Grim to freak out, "bwaaah! That painting just talked!" He said looking to Yuu to make sure he wasn't crazy. Yuu nods "yes, and? Is a talking painting really such an oddity at this school? The lady in the portrait on the that wall talks too. As does the gentleman in the portrait on this one. As long as a painting has a mouth, why shouldn't it be able it talk! Is that really so strange?" The painting asked, Yuu shook their head, "compared to other things I've seen in my world, it's not odd." They mumbled "do you know where a student named Ace Trappola is?"
"Ah, I know the one. A new student I believe? Today was his first day at school. I think he went back to his dorm a while ago." The painting explained making Yuu scowl, "that son of a Boltund." They said beffore thanking the painting and leaving to the dorms with Grim and their pokemon. "Agent, Cinder, go make sure he doesn't get out of this." Yuu commanded their pokemon, the two nodded and ran ahead to the Hall of Mirrors.
When the two pokemon arrived Ace was complaining, "yeah right, like I'm gonna wash a hundred windows. I'm just gonna go back and—" he was hit on the back of his head with a rock kicked by Cinder. "Cinderace!" She yelled pointing at him angrily. "Great job girl," Yuu said after catching up with Grim in toe. "Crap they saw me!" Ace said before Growled, "stop right there pal! No fair gettin' a head start! Wait!" He yelled, "who in their right mind would ever wait?! See ya!" Ace yelled as he ran towards Heartslabyul's mirror.
"No way are you gettin' out of this! You think I wanna wash windows?! Yuu get your pokemon to do something!" Grim yelled at the trainer, all this alerted a blue haired boy standing by the Heartslabyul mirror "hm?" He asked turning to see Ace running at him, "outta my way!" He yelled, "hey what gives?!" The boy yelled in response. "Please stop him, he's shirking his cleaning responsibilities!" Yuu yelled for help, the boy looked shocked.
"What? That's not right! But how do I stop him? Like, freeze his legs? Or bind them with a rope? Or maybe I could. . .hmm. . .no. . ." He mumbled before Grim yelled, "I don't care how! Just do something! Anything!" "Anything?! Anything, huh. . . All right! Here goes anything! I summon thee. . . Something heavy!" He yelled pointing his magic pen at Ace. A cauldron appeared out of thin air and fell right on top of Ace.
Ace and the boy, who Yuu now knew as Deuce began to argue with one another causing them to become distracted before Agent noticed something, "Inteleon." He said to his trainer making their eyes widen, "he ran away?!" They yelled and left the mirror hall to see Grim running down Main Street "haha I'll let you two handle the rest! Bye bye!" He yelled as he ran.
"You caught me so you could run away yourself?!" Ace yelled at the cat, "hey you there! Uh...Juice?" "My name isn't "Juice." It's Deuce! With a D!" Deuce replylied with a glare, "this is partially your responsibility you know! So help me catch that little furball!" "How is this my responsibility?!" "Grim's useless janitor friend can't use magic, that means this is up to you and me!" And with that the two boys began to chase after the fire cat.

【Boltund】 - How did you find your starter pokemon?
Oh, I think I briefly talked about this before but I can tell this story in a bit more detail!
So I've said before that we tend to have a lot of different Psychic-type Pokemon on our estate. Some are wild Pokemon that like to hang around the property, some are fosters or rescues that we take in, and some are ones that have decided to stick around and have basically become a part of the family now!
There's a herd of Espathra that will come to the property every summer or so for breeding season because they know there is less of a risk of them or their eggs being attacked. Madre usually advises us to stay away during breeding season because the males get very aggressive and territorial.
However, I was a very curious child to say the least.
So one day I wait until it's time for one of males and females to switch incubation shifts (females take the day shift, males take the night shift) to get a closer look at the eggs.
And then one of them starts hatching.
Obviously I start freaking out because what was six year old me supposed to do and this alerts the female who looks just as surprised to see me and because I didn't know the difference between a male and female yet I started BOOKING IT BACK HOME because I thought that was the daddy bird and not the mommy bird and believed I was about to be PSYCHICALLY PULVERIZED INTO PASTE.
In hindsight if that Espathra really wanted me dead then it wouldn't have mattered if I ran or not because 1) they are psychic and 2) they can sprint at almost 200 kph.
Nevertheless I make it home at the crack of dawn right as the sun starts to rise over the horizon. I come bursting into Madre's room and leap into her bed SOBBING because I think I'm about to DIE. So she quickly wakes up to confront the alleged soon-to-be cause of my imminent demise.
Imagine her surprise when, standing outside her doorframe, is a single shiny Flittle.
Later that day we went back out to return the Flittle to its mother and she was really understanding of the whole situation! Mother to mother thing I guess.
But over the next several days we would find this Flittle coming back to our home to come see me. This happened again and again and again. And every time, Madre and I would have to take it back to her mother Espathra and her siblings.
Eventually, the father Espathra started getting pissy at us coming back to the nest so often and the mother eventually had to start turning us away, probably fearing that our continued presence might affect the other chicks.
It became clear to us what had happened: the Flittle saw me when it hatched and imprinted on me, so we really couldn't release her back into the wild. We had to keep her.
Originally, the responsibility of raising this Flittle fell mostly to my mother and the Pokemon caretakers of the estate, but she would frequently be uncooperative with them: refusing to eat, trying to escape, and being a general nuisance whenever she could.
She only behaved if I was the one handling her.
So I started taking care of her (with the help of more capable adults, of course). I fed her and watched her and played with her. I was absolutely enamored by this little Flittle that sparkled like stars. She was my shining little star.
Estrella.
She officially became my Pokémon a few months later.

Tinkaton for Pokemon Unite!
Season 1
Prev: Torterra - Scrafty - Starmie - Luvdisc - Boltund
As a fan of pokemon for years, there is one thing that I have to confess. A pokemon takes a long while for the appeal to hit right for me. Even my favorite pokemon of all time, Cradily, took years for me to warm up to. I enjoy pokemon battling more, and the designs of the pokemon are treated as a nice plus for me.
That didn’t happen with Tinkaton. When I first laid eyes on her and her pre-evolutions, it was an immediate positive reception for me, and I’m pretty sure it was the same for you too. The pink face, the oversized hammer, the criminal habits, all of these things are instant success in appeal and favor, as a lot of people actually voted that this pokemon was the best designed one for Gen 9 (seriously, look it up). It’s no surprise that I want to see her for Pokemon Unite, and if you’ve read this far, then I’m sure you do too.
So let’s do it. Let’s see how this pink powerhouse pilfers and pummels in Pokemon Unite!
While none of Tinkaton’s stats are bad, per se, there are some major grievances I have with this particular distribution, mainly it’s Attack stat. It’s only 5 points higher than it’s Sp. Atk, which is her lowest stat overall. There is a shocking number of pokemon that share this Attack stat with her (Ampharos, Sableye, Skeledirge, etc.) and even more that outright outclass this number (Hatterene, Pawniard). I mean, sure, it’s a very well rounded stat spread, and that Sp. Def and Speed are very useful, but I can’t help but feel like a pokemon with a giant hammer should hit harder than a freaking Whiscash!
Well, nothing like a recalibration to make a pokemon work in Pokemon Unite. Tinkaton, I dub thee with the role of an...
All-Rounder
Basic Attack - Melee/Attack
Becomes a boosted attack after two hits. Each hit produces a piece of scrap that can be picked up. The boosted attack drops two pieces of scrap on hit and deals increased damage. The range increases as the pokemon evolves.
A piece of scrap is produced when an enemy receives damage. If multiple enemies are damaged, multiple pieces of scrap are produced for each enemy hit.
The range of the basic attack increases by 50% each time the pokemon evolves. Tinkaton attacks by hitting enemies with the backside of the hammer.
The boosted attack is a wide ranged swing that damages all enemies nearby.
The scrap comes in three varieties; a bent screw, a chewed up piece of plating, and a solid chip of metal. However, these are just visual differences and all pieces provide 1 piece of scrap.
The Tinkaton line is known for attacking Steel type pokemon to break off pieces of their bodies and nab them in order to use the materials for their hammers. While there’s no guarantee that a Steel type pokemon will be on the opposing team in every single game, Tinkaton still has the ability to generate scrap with its attacks. It’s just a quirk of the pokemon, I guess.
By itself, the attack is very meager. Yes, each hit generates scrap that Tinkaton can pick up, but then what? Well, it can use these scraps to power up its attacks later on, but let’s focus on the qualities of this basic attack. Right away, the boosted basic attack generates two bits of scrap instead of one, totaling 4 morsels from an uninterrupted round of hits. The boosted basic attack also has Tinkaton swing the hammer around in a circle, making it possible to attack a whole group of enemies from within. The range gets wider as she evolves, which makes her better at rushing in and cleaning house if she’s feeling bold enough.
Because of how important it is for Tinkaton to collect scrap, the full details are explained further in the ability section.
Ability: Mold Breaker
The pokemon’s attacks pierce a portion of the enemy’s shield and destroys it. The more pieces of scrap the pokemon picks up, the greater the piercing and shield damage. If the enemy has no shield, the pokemon’s attacks deal extra damage.
The pokemon’s attacks deal 20% damage to the targets shield and destroys it afterwards. The remaining 80% is received as piercing damage. The 20% shield damage is applied to the pokemon’s Attack, not the size of the shield.
The shield damage increases the more scrap you have. However, the pokemon will always deal 80% piercing damage per hit.
All shields are affected by Mold Breaker, including the one provided by Assault Vest.
Ability based protections, such as Espeon’s Magic Bounce or Glaceon’s Snow Cloak are not affected. Clefable’s Magic Bounce and Tsareena’s Queenly Majesty are affected, however.
The number of scrap you have is determined by your Score Pocket. Aeos Orbs and scrap is collected in the Score Pocket and cannot overlap. If you have 20 pieces of scrap, you will only be able to hold 30 Aeos Orbs at Level 12 or higher, for example.
Each piece of scrap you have adds 1% of shield damage to Mold Breaker. A Score Pocket full of scrap adds 30% (Level 1 - 8) to 50% (Level 12 or higher) of extra shield damage and normal damage to your attacks. The scrap difference is highlighted on the HUD by your on-screen Score Pocket, showing how many pieces of scrap are occupying your Score Pocket.
The shield damage multiplier becomes a normal damage multiplier if the enemy has no shield.
You cannot pick up more scrap if you do not have the space for it in your Score Pocket. When KOd, all scrap in your Score Pocket and on the field disappears.
When an attack uses up some or all of the pokemon’s reserve of scrap, the original number of scrap is applied in the attack calculation.
Whew, man, that’s a lot of bullet points, but it got down everything that needed to be explained about Tinkaton’s scrappy mechanic (double pun, yes!).
The main gist of Mold Breaker is that Tinkaton puts away all the scrap she’s collected in the same pocket as her Aeos Orbs. This is actually very bad, as having too much of one or the other can greatly hamper her effectiveness in battle. However, this is entirely intentional, and the main reason why Tinkaton is an All-Rounder. While she can collect scrap to power up her attacks, indulging too much in the metal leftovers can limit her ability to score. But if you’re too focused on scoring, you’ll lack the ability to empower your attacks with scrap. And if you can’t score to offload your hoard of Aeos Orbs, your offensive effectiveness is restricted.
This is where Mold Breaker’s secondary effect comes into play. Each time Tinkaton damages an enemy with a shield, a small portion of that attacks damage destroys the shield, and the rest is dealt as true damage. The more scrap you have, the more of the shield you destroy, and this is all done at no cost to your scrap reserves. This helps Tinkaton break stalemates and can even make it possible to push against enemies empowered by the shields of their Goal Zones and allies. Moreso, if the enemy has no shield, the scrap adds more attack power to Tinkaton’s attacks. Granted, her Attack stat is rather low, which is why she relies on scrap to empower herself.
While Mold Breaker greatly increases Tinkaton’s ability to deal damage and break shields, some of her moves use up scrap to become stronger, which forces Tinkaton to always be collecting bits and pieces. It’s all about balance, much like a hammer, snarf.
At the start of the game, Tinkaton will start out as Tinkatink. You can choose between Rock Smash and Metal Claw as your first move. By Level 3, it will have learned both.
Move 1: Rock Smash
The pokemon swings its weapon in a wide arc, damaging enemies and shoving them away. Pieces of scrap are dropped on hit. If this attack damaged enemies with shields, increases the number of scrap dropped. 9s cooldown.
4 pieces of scrap are dropped for each enemy hit. 6 pieces of scrap are dropped when enemies with shields are damaged.
Any shield damaged will produce scrap, such as the shields provided by a Goal Zone or the Assault Vest item.
Scrap is produced at the point of impact, making it easy for Tinkatink to collect the scrap and get away.
See, when Lucario punches you in the face with Meteor Mash at the beginning of the game, it’s infuriating and insulting. But when a literal baby with a metal club for a rattler swings her toy a little too hard, it’s adorable. She hits a little too hard, though, as she dislodges some scrap from the attack. The attack is a little wider ranged than Lucario’s Meteor Mash, which makes it better.
The utility of a shove attack in the early game cannot be understated, as it opens up many opportunities that are difficult to exploit later on in the match. Whether you use it to knock an enemy away from their Goal Zone, giving you space to score, or away from your own Goal Zone in defense, it’s an extremely useful move.
It also produces more scrap than your basic attack, but that’s because it sends them out of range from any followup attack. If you hit an enemy with a shield, more scrap is dropped, which Tinkatink can then use to power up its moves. If you’re feeling especially bold, you can launch this attack against an enemy holed up in their Goal Zone and knock them away with Rock Smash. Because the Goal Zone provides a shield, it can be destroyed by Mold Breaker and also makes more scrap for you when you hit them with Rock Smash. It also gives you just enough clearance to try and score 5 or so points.
With all this scrap you’ve collected, it’s time to put them to good use.
Move 2: Metal Claw
The pokemon charges forward with its metal club, slashing along the way. Half of the pokemon’s scrap reserve is consumed and increases the pokemon’s attack. The more scrap consumed, the greater the attack boost and the longer the duration of the boost. 6.5s cooldown.
Consuming 1 piece of scrap with Metal Claw grants a 1.5x Attack boost for 1.5 seconds. Consuming 15 pieces of scrap grants a 3x Attack boost for 3 seconds. 1 scrap grants a 0.1x multiplier for both boosts.
Scrap is consumed even if the attack misses or fails to deal damage.
The attack is a dash attack and can be used to move through walls.
Now, math isn’t my strong suit, but it’s necessary to translate the power of scrap in Tinkatink’s attacks. While Metal Claw isn’t a far reaching attack, it grants an Attack boost afterwards by using up some of your scrap reserve. With 1 piece of scrap, you’ve got a slight attack boost for a little while, but this increases the more scrap you have to give up. It will only ever take half of your reserve, so you will always have some scrap left over, but this makes the followup Metal Claw weaker unless you refill it by beating the daylights out of your enemies.
If you use the attack all willy-nilly, you will run low on scrap to use. This might not be a bad thing, though, as that makes more space for you to stash away Aeos Orbs. You do need to make some scores every now and then. In the heat of battle, it might be tempting to go all out to clear the lane, as with all of that scrap used up, you’ll have clearance to make a big score. It’s not a bad idea, but you have to understand just how much scrap you need to make an impact with Metal Claw’s boost. Until you reach Level 9, your Score Pocket maxes out to 30, which limits how much total Aeos Orbs AND scrap you can have. With a totally full Score Pocket full of scrap, you will use up 15 pieces of scrap, and after that it only decreases until you collect more.
The low cooldown is a nice plus, but it means you’ll be using the attack more often, rapidly decreasing your scrap reserve. Sure, it’s worth it to consume a large amount of scrap and dive into the scuffle, but you’d better have a backup plan. How about leveling up, evolving and trading in Rock Smash for a stronger move?
At Level 5, Tinkatin will evolve into Tinkatuff. At the same time, Rock Smash becomes either Brutal Swing or Play Rough.
Move 1a: Brutal Swing
The pokemon swings its club around in a wide circle, damaging enemies and shoving them away. Pieces of scrap are dropped on hit. If the enemies had a shield, more pieces of scrap are dropped. Picking up these pieces of scrap reduces the cooldown of this move by 0.5 seconds. 10s cooldown.
At Level 10, Brutal Swing becomes Brutal Swing+.
Enemies are shoved further away. If these enemies are thrown into walls or obstacles, they receive damage from the impact.
4 pieces of scrap are dropped on hit for each enemy. 8 pieces of scrap are dropped when an enemy with a shield is hit.
Only picking up scrap dropped by this move will decrease the cooldown of Brutal Swing.
Brutal Swing+ deals an additional 50% damage to enemies thrown into walls. This damage is also affected by Mold Breaker. However, scrap isn’t dropped from the impact.
The range doesn’t increase when Tinkatuff evolves into Tinkaton. Tinkatuff just throws all of herself into that swing.
With her brand new hammer, Tinkatuff squares up and delivers a mighty swing, hitting everything and everyone around her. She hits so hard, anyone unlucky enough to get rocked will be sent flying, leaving behind some nice scrap she can use.
This is where Tinkaton’s All-Rounder qualities come into play. By knocking away all enemies in range, she plays the hybrid role of a Defender, sending enemies away and splitting up the enemy, separating them from each other, and keeping them out from points of interest, like a choke point. Any pieces of scrap they drop is left at the point of impact, which makes it easy for Tinkatuff to walk over and collect.
These particular pieces of scrap are special, though, as picking them up reduces the cooldown of Brutal Swing. While it has an agonizingly long wait time of 10s, each piece of scrap reduces it by 0.5 seconds. Hitting even one unprotected enemy reduces the cooldown by 2 seconds total, effectively bringing the cooldown down to a more manageable 8 seconds. Hitting an enemy with a shield doubles the amount of scrap collected, reducing the cooldown afterwards to 6 seconds. Since any shield triggers the extra scrap being dropped, this move is best used to break the enemy’s foothold in their own Goal Zone, exposing them to the dangers of your teammates and creating distance for you.
With Mold Breaker, you make the enemy much more vulnerable to followup attacks from your teammates, as their shields are reduced and they have taken a huge chunk of damage from your Mold Breaker boosted attack. This move has the opposite problem of Metal Claw in that, with Mold Breaker, the attack becomes stronger with each use.
But as with everything, there is a catch. Because of how easy it is to generate scrap, you will be filling up your Score Pocket very easily, reducing the number of Aeos Orbs you can stash and score. You become a powerful All-Rounder with all of that scrap, but your scoring ability is reduced. Not to mention, the attack does little to improve your match-up against Ranged attackers. Brutal Swing’s range isn’t all that great, and sending enemies away reduces the effectiveness of your followup attacks. The worst part is that missing forces you to wait out the 10 seconds of cooldown, during which the ranged attackers on the enemy team will be slinging their moves at you with extreme prejudice. Sure, you still have Metal Claw at this point, which you can use to try and close the distance, but the dash range isn’t that great and it is still limited by your small Score Pocket.
All Brutal Swing+ does is further knock enemies away and deals extra damage to enemies sent into walls and obstacles. It’s a great upgrade, sure, but you’ll be stuck playing as a Defender until you evolve again.
Move 1b: Play Rough
Target an enemy and dash towards them. After dealing damage, the pokemon then knocks them away into the designated direction. If the enemy is thrown into another enemy, both will receive damage. Pieces of scrap are left behind after damage is dealt. 8.5s cooldown.
At Level 10, Play Rough becomes Play Rough+.
Expands the targeting range and increases the distance enemies are thrown.
When Play Rough throws an enemy into another enemy, both pokemon receive 50% extra damage and are stunned for 0.5 seconds. This extra damage is also affected by Mold Breaker.
The main attack deals damage in two parts. Upon contact with an enemy, damage is dealt. The followup attack that knocks enemies away deals the second hit. Both hits drop scrap, but any extra damage after this does not.
The enemy is stunned for the duration of the move after the first hit. However, the move will fail beyond the first hit if the enemy has any protection from hindrances.
Both Tinkatuff and Tinkaton perform the second hit by jumping into the air and swinging their clubs downward in a full circle. As the player chooses a direction, the pokemon’s direction shifts as well, providing visual to both teammates and enemies where the target will be sent flying to. In addition, a graphic marker at the targets’ feet will also be pointing in the player’s chosen direction.
Play Rough alleviates Tinkatuff’s problems with ranged attackers by granting her a sure hit move. When Tinkatuff’s got her eyes on an enemy, she rushes in, stuns them with a gut punch, then delivers some fancy aerobics to swing her hammer inward and send them flying. The attack hits them so hard, they are thrown a very far distance, and if another enemy happens to be in the way, both of them will receive some extra damage.
This move is extremely useful in managing the enemy’s position. Where Brutal Swing knocks all enemies from you, Play Rough let’s you choose an enemy to attack and where to throw them. If you have plenty of scrap, the enemy will be hit pretty hard and can be safely thrown towards a teammate to finish the job. If you’re low on scrap, however, you can knock them into another enemy to tack on damage on both targets. It generates a lot less scrap than Brutal Swing, though, and doesn’t come with any cooldown lowering effects, but the ability to reposition an enemy to suit you and your team is a great trade off. It also makes team fights easier to handle by targeting and removing a problematic enemy from the fight, such as a Decidueye or a Clefable.
It’s not a good a idea to use this move to dive into a fight when the entire enemy team is present. While you can temporarily incapacitate two enemies at most, the remaining 2 or 3 will make quick work of you with their combined moves and hindrances. It’s better to get in, deal damage, and get out, which further thins out their fortifications. Metal Claw can be used to greatly increase the range and followup damage with Play Rough, which can sometimes guarantee a KO on a frail Attacker.
Once you evolve, though, you’ll be playing a different game as your equipment also evolves.
At Level 8, Tinkatuff will evolve into Tinkaton. At the same time, Metal Claw becomes either Gigaton Hammer or Heavy Slam.
Move 2a: Gigaton Hammer
The pokemon brings up its great hammer and then slams it down, dealing damage and releasing a small shock wave that stuns nearby enemies. Any Pokemon KOd by this move drops a lot of scrap. The pokemon is immune to hindrances while performing this move. All scrap is consumed to increase the power of this attack. 12.5s cooldown.
At Level 13, Gigaton Hammer becomes Gigaton Hammer+.
Greatly reduce damage received while using this move. Slightly increases the stun duration caused by the shock wave.
Each piece of scrap adds 3% extra damage to this move.
KOd enemies drop 10 pieces of scrap upon defeat. This only applies to enemies on the opposing team.
The hurtbox of the attack is much larger than the hammer’s surface area of impact. It is deceptively large.
It takes 0.75 seconds of windup for Tinkaton to perform this move. Afterwards, it takes 0.5 seconds for Tinkaton to move.
The shock wave stuns enemies for 0.7 seconds but doesn’t deal damage. Gigaton Hammer+ stuns enemies for 1.4 seconds.
Enemies are rendered immobile for 0.5 seconds when hit directly by the hammer.
Gigaton Hammer+ reduces damage received by 80%.
By mastering her craft, Tinkatuff evolves into Tinkaton, transforming herself and upgrading her hammer. She’s so proud of the work she’s out into her mighty sledge, she displays it proudly, forcing everyone to admire it. Why, she might even make you take a very good look at it, directly to the face.
While Tinkaton herself is barely over 2 feet tall, the hammer is much bigger, so it takes up more space than you would think. Even so, when she brings the hammer down, it hits hard and covers a wide area. It takes a bit of windup, but when Tinkaton swings, she aims to KO. It’s easier than you think to evade the attack, but the shock wave from the hammer coming down will stun enemies briefly, even though it does no damage. This slight stun effect barely gives Tinkaton enough time to followup with either Brutal Swing or Play Rough, and Gigaton Hammer+ gives her more time thanks to the increased stun.
However, having a giant hammer means you have to master using it too, and that’s evident by the eternal wait time of 12.5 seconds of cooldown. Hit or miss, you’ll just have to not miss, and it’s a big deal because Tinkaton uses up ALL of her scrap to add weight to the swing. So, not only is there a great wait time, but you would have to collect all of that scrap again to build up Mold Breaker’s power. The reward is worth it, though, as a Score Pocket full of scrap can increase the damage output to 300%!! Landing a successful KO with Gigaton Hammer drops a guaranteed 10 scrap, which is 1/4th/1/5th of the scrap you need to refill Mold Breaker. Should you manage to KO multiple enemies in one swing, the payout is enormous, especially if you had very little scrap when you started the fight.
The range is another downside, as Tinkaton needs enemies close by to deal damage to them with Gigaton Hammer. More often, you’ll be hitting enemies with only the shock wave unless you set up an ambush. You can lead with Play Rough to manipulate the target’s position, but Brutal Swing makes it easier to rebuild your reserve of scrap.
Either way, this big hammer makes frail Attackers and Speedsters look like nails.
Move 2b: Heavy Slam
The pokemon runs forward with its hammer raised and runs a short distance before bringing it down, damaging any enemy caught in the attack. On hit, enemies are stunned briefly. Using the attack before the move ends causes Tinkaton to bring the hammer down early, but the pokemon will not stop running. In this way, you can attack repeatedly until the move ends. The amount of scrap you have decreases when receiving damage while using this move, but damage is prevented in exchange. 7.5s cooldown.
At Level 13, Heavy Slam becomes Heavy Slam+.
Increases the amount of damage and stun dealt to enemies. Extends the distance traveled while attacking.
Each hit of damage received forces you to drop 5 pieces of scrap, no matter how weak the attack was. If you run out of scrap, you can be damaged.
You are resistant to hindrances while performing Heavy Slam. Some effects, like Unite Moves, can still stop you.
The attack doesn’t end until Tinkaton has traveled the full distance, even if you attack multiple times while running. The travel distance of this attack is slightly further than typical dash attacks. However, Tinkaton cannot dash through walls with this move.
Heavy Slam stuns enemies for 1.2 seconds when the attack lands at the end of the move. The hammer swings during the attack stun for 0.25 seconds.
Heavy Slam+ increases the damage dealt by 1.5x and the amount of stun dealt by 0.25 seconds.
Instead of raw power, Tinkaton uses dexterity and skill to swing her hammer around with Heavy Slam. In any given direction, Tinkaton will run in with her hammer raised upward like a maniac. When she has run the full distance, she brings it down, stunning all enemies unlucky enough to be in the way. If you’re feeling especially mashy, you can press the button repeatedly to have Tinkaton swing the hammer repeatedly until the move ends. These early swings deal less damage and stun than the final hit, but there’s no downside to it. Even if you need to cover a lot of distance real quick, feel free to level the floor on your way there like a Whack-a-mole World Record holder with PTSD (huh, that’s a new sentence...).
Heavy Slam uses scrap in a different way than Gigaton Hammer, as it is used defensively rather than offensively. When Tinkaton runs in, the scrap is lost in exchange for total protection from damage. This is an extremely powerful boon when engaging in team fights with dizzying amounts of crowd control, as it allows you to run in a bring order to the court with your gavel of justice and metal. Oh, I forgot to mention that Heavy Slam grants Tinkaton Hindrance Resistance while she’s using the move, same as Blastoise’s Rapid Spin. It doesn’t protect from all forms of hindrances (namely Unite Moves) but it gives her a lot of impunity to rush in and handle the enemy team. Stunning them in place with repeated hammer slams gives your team just enough breathing space to counterattack with annoying moves of their own.
This is the part where we cover the moves weaknesses and, yeah, there’s a few that aren’t immediately obvious. Firstly, each hit received causes you to lose 5 pieces of scrap, which isn’t much, but multi-hit moves like Glaceon’s Icicle Spear or Venusaur’s Petal Dance will quickly drain your scrap reserve, and that’s not even considering extreme cases like Charizard’s basic attack or Decidueye’s Razor Leaf boosted basic attacks. With a full Score Pocket, you can only block 10 hits before you’re all out, and then you’ll be left vulnerable for the rest of the fight, unable to block damage or even score. You’ll have to single out enemies capable of draining your scrap reserve before engaging the rest of the enemy team.
One other caveat is that Tinkaton runs in a straight line and doesn’t run fast enough. It’s easy for an enemy to sidestep you as you attack, giving them free reign to counter with any number of moves. Also, taking full advantage of the defensive properties of Heavy Slam means forfeiting the ability to score a lot of points, if any at all. With a handful of scrap, you’ll be alright taking on one or two enemies, but against an entire team is suicide. Even with a full reserve of scrap, it’s risky, especially since Heavy Slam grants Hindrance Resistance, not Hindrance Immunity.
The one advantage Heavy Slam has over Gigaton Hammer is the manageable cooldown time, and the relative ease your teammates will have in KOing enemies locked down by the stuns you inflict. As an All-Rounder, you can also dabble as a Defender or a Supporter with this move. It just depends on how well you apply yourself and your hammering skills.
Now stop. It’s hammer time.
Unite Move: Hole in One
The pokemon unearths a giant stone, then launches it at the designated area. The attack deals damage on landing and produces loads of scrap at the impact site.
Tinkaton brings the stone out by slamming the ground. This has a hurtbox and can damage enemies very close by.
You can aim as far as halfway over the entire map, just like Dragonite.
Instead of a marker, a slowly increasing shadow marks the eventual impact site. The size of the attack is smaller than Dragonite, but it deals much more damage.
15 pieces of scrap are produced when the rock lands.
There is a 1 in 400 chance that a Corviknight will also be struck out of the sky. It will fall and land somewhere near the impact site, with a visible ring of spinning stars around its head, but will then disappear in a puff of smoke. Corviknight is not a wild pokemon that can be caught during the match, so it doesn’t provide Aeos Energy, nor does it provide any EXP or extra scrap. It is solely a visual easter egg.
As if I could’ve made it’s Unite Move anything else. Tinkaton is notorious for launching rocks into the sky just to bully Corviknights, so of course it’s able to do this for it’s ultimate attack. Speaking of birds, there’s a 1 in 400 chance that a Corviknight gets knocked out of the sky from this attack, but it’s just an easter egg and doesn’t change the Unite Move in any way. The specific odds are a reference to Corviknight being one of the pokemon in the Paldean Pokedex out of 400 species that can be registered.
Speaking of the pokedex, it doesn’t state how big the rocks it launches at Corviknight are, so I opted for a modestly sized boulder. Where does Tinkaton get that boulder? From the ground, of course, and it does this by forcing it to erupt from the earth with a demanding slam of its hammer. This little slam does damage to nearby enemies and also makes it Unstoppable, but that will almost never happen because Tinkaton will most likely be aiming at enemies from the other side of the map.
In a similar vein to Dragonite, Tinkaton can aim as far as halfway across the map with this move. It doesn’t land at the designated area, but the rock it launches will produce loads of scrap it can pick up. I don’t know why the rock has scrap within it, but Tinkaton will need to approach the landing site anyway to capitalize on the chaos she has caused. The rock hits hard, harder than Dragonite’s Unite Move, but that’s because the area of impact is smaller. It’s harder to hit multiple enemies at once with this attack, but it’s easier to hide since the Unite Move doesn’t have a marker that shows where it’s gonna land. Just a little shadow that grows in size until the boulder lands.
Tinkaton doesn’t get a refund to her Unite Move meter should she aim the rock to land closer to her, unlike Dragonite. If she pops that rock, she’s gonna have to wait a while to reload. I don’t usually specify the charge rate of Unite Moves, but Tinkaton’s charge rate is on the slower side due to all the advantages it provides her. It’s annoying to aim blindly, so coordinate with your team for the best results.
Other than that, the massive load of scrap dropped at the impact site can be a great source of power if you manage your moves smartly. Using Gigaton Hammer then collecting the large cache lets you continue the fight with a greater advantage. Heavy Slam can be used indiscriminately with the reassuring pile of scrap nearby. Just be aware that any survivors will be ready for you should you miss a few enemies.
Tinkaton is a big hit, both literally, and metaphorically.
Holowear
Tinkaton doesn’t like anyone modifying her hammer, so any Holowear we can give her must not touch the weapon. Even though it’s holographic and completely superficial, she prefers her hammer the way it looks, the way she made it, which I can respect. That just means we have a lot more freedom in designing her main body wear.
Right off the bat (or should I say hammer) Tinkaton can wear the Smithy Style, giving her an apron with tools in the pockets, some gloves, and a large welder’s hood, permanently lifted up, of course. Then there’s Engineer Style, putting her in a safety helmet and electrician’s jumpsuit with some tools peeking out of the pockets. There’s also Sporty Style that gives her a bunnet (a Scottish hat), a white polo and a plaid skirt, as well as a golf bag strapped to her back. Lastly, there’s Warrior Style, giving Tinkaton a Viking hat with little wings on it, a pair of pauldrons, and a chain mail skirt. Tinkaton is a dedicated hammer girl, so any holowear must add to that rather than detract from it. You go, girl.
Strategy
At the start of the game, you will have to decide which lane you’re gonna take, and each comes with their own advantages and disadvantages. It should be noted that, due to the effects of her basic attack and Rock Smash, Tinkatink will always end the lane run with a large number of scrap, which gives it a head start should it gain enough EXP to learn Metal Claw soon after.
Starting with the obvious, Tinkaton can do good work if she calls the Central Lane first. Because of how tough the wild pokemon are, Tinkatink will have lots more scrap than points when she finally evolves into Tinkatuff. Having all of that scrap early on is a good thing, because it means you can abuse Metal Claw to great effect when you engage the enemy in either lane.
If you’re going in either the top or bottom lane, though, You’ll most likely have an excess of scrap but a fair number of points to score. All that scrap does help in fending off the enemy, especially since Rock Smash is a great attack to challenge the opposing team with a push. Even better, if you are running a stacking item like Attack Weight, having less points to score is a great boon for you. Just make sure you don’t get yourself KOd while doing it (like how I do it. I play terrible in the early game because of this...).
When you evolve, it becomes time to choose between Brutal Swing and Play Rough. If the enemy has Defenders or Supporters and you notice that they all like to huddle together, Brutal Swing is the best move choice, as it can easily threaten their composition and make team fights more dangerous for them. If there is an excess of Attackers and Speedsters and they have a variety of movement options to abuse, Play Rough will be the better choice, as it is a sure hit attack that you can use to trap and throw the enemy into a direction of your choosing. Hitting multiple enemies with Play Rough also weakens the opposing team overall, making it easier for you and your teammates to create an opening.
Playtime is over when Tinkatuff evolves into Tinkaton, and you have to make the choice between Gigaton Hammer or Heavy Slam. Gigaton Hammer consumes your entire reservoir of scrap for a huge damaging blow, but it requires proper timing to hit just right. Heavy Slam makes you a better team player by rushing in and smashing everything in front of you, rendering your enemies dizzy and vulnerable, especially in a team fight.
The main gimmick you have to master overall is Mold Breaker, as this can make or break your ability to win games. If you are too focused on scrap, you’ll limit your ability to score, forcing you to be constantly engaged with the enemy. If you try to stockpile Aeos Orbs in the hopes of making a big score, your offensive power is limited, as it reduces the effectiveness of your ability to break shields and deal damage. Not only that, your reduced power makes it more difficult for you to create an opening to score, leaving you stuck with a bloated Score Pocket until you score a goal or are KOd.
Maintaining the balance of having equal amounts of points and scrap is the key to playing Tinkaton really well, as going all in on either side should only be reserved for desperate situations. If there is a stalemate or your team is losing badly, stocking up on scrap might be the power boost you need to make a breakthrough. If you’re winning by a comfortable amount, you don’t need the power boost all that much, so you can build up Aeos Orbs for a big score, but you should be careful and watch out for surprise comebacks.
Tinkaton as a smithy is always striving for perfectionism, whether that be collecting scrap off of her fallen foes or stealing them from the environment. In Pokemon Unite, Tinkaton must balance that out by playing for the team, not just herself. In this, she fulfills her All-Rounder archetype by playing defense, backing up her teammates, augmenting her attack power, and creating a hammer sized opening for her and her teammates to exploit.
Bonk.

And that’s Tinkaton for Pokemon Unite! This draft was made sometime in December last year, so this pokemon is getting a post well before a bunch of other pokemon I have waiting forever in the drafts. But I think Tinkaton deserves it, especially since she has so many fans.
This post also means that I am no longer restricted to older gens for Pokemon Unite posts, but moves and abilities will be chosen at my own discretion. Not to worry though, every now and then I will check out the updated moves if it suits me.
Anyway, stay tuned for the next post. I know this one came out kind of quick (Boltund came out 3 days ago!!) but I’ll probably slow down a bit before making the next post. Even so, look forward to it!

i set myself a “challenge” (had an idea of something that could be cool, said I’d try do it, and promptly got involved in something else) where I make human pokeverse ocs that have 1 pokemon so I can cover all the lines. I think this would count my chosen mon characters because I love Allegra too much to give anyone else a boltund. But then I have 2 Greedents. Unless Nina joins that story… I dunno. Ones I have a proper are:
Boltund + Allegra
Greedent + Nina
The Mightyena + guy that makes me think of fleabag by YUNGBLUD
The Togetic + tinkatok user combo made because one of my partners won’t stop playing that Cupid by FIFTY FIFTY song
Dion, who was/is an aromatisse
i guess Forge + Ferris technically count? I can’t see me doing anything else with a heatmor

I
Do not know how to feel about this. I know I don't hate it. But also. Hmmm.
The obvious changes are Boltund and Kommo-o. Boltund was to tie him to Sonia. But at the same time, pinchurrin is an interesting member of Hop's OG team, and I don't want to lose that charm. Kommo-o is another worry bc, interestingly enough, it kinda counters Leon's dragapualt. Which is again, very interesting, but I am so worried that it loses the charm that was Hop's team.
Hop is difficult bc I'm trying to not fall for the trap just of giving him strong pokemon without considering him as a character. It's why I'm so worried, haha. But like Bede, I think he has other pokemon with him.
Okay context for the Venasuar. Naomi already got Charmander from Leon, so I don't think she would want another starter. So I just decided to have Carol take on and Hop take the other, which was Bulbasaur :). Zamazenta is like. Duh. And I already felt bad for getting rid of one little guy ( pinchurrin) ,so I gotta keep the other one ( cramorant).
But yeah, that's Hop's team reworked. If anyone has thoughts and opinions about it, I'm down to listen.
Oh and I completely forgot about the Galar birds uuuuuuuuh. Man,I dunno what I'm gonna do with them anyway so rip them I guess.
#i think the only person that doesn't have a dragon ( if i stick with this team) is Naomi#not that she needs one but i dunno it's interesting

so i'm assuming cherri is the deerling. for winnie, i want to guess boltund because of how similar their build is to her irl dog, but i can also see it being a dachsbun
now for storm, my first thought was tornadus, but i'm guessing no exceedingly rare pokemon. this guess is a complete shot in the dark because i genuinely don't have a clue, but maybe a flygon. hoping solrock will be sunny so pearl can have a matching lunatone
ender makes me think of cosmog, but again, no (in lore) rare pokemon, so spirtomb could work. the spirits do look like eyes of ender. i so want wormie to be a wildly overleveled diglett just because it would be funny
for the shiny duo pokemon au do their respective pokemon have special nicknames ?
"Yes and No it depends on who the trainer is and whether they choose to name their Pokémon
If you think a hermit would name their Pokémon they probably would! But they won’t call that name out in battle because their gym leaders (well most of them are anyways) and so challengers have to learn from them! That includes even small details such as new Pokémon species names that trainers might not have encountered before hence the no names for Gym leaders pokemon in battles.
For example Gem’s pokemon all have names she picked out! And she uses those names in battle! But she’s a trainer so it’s different for her then gym leaders who are new trainers teachers in a sense.
I’m going to be extra kind and say that I do have Gem’s Pokémon’s names already picked out and so I will give them here to you as a bonus for being the first ask her pokemons names are Cherrie, Winnie, Storm, Sunny, Ender and then … Wormie ;)
take a guess on which Pokémon those names belong to because I’m not being kind enough to spoil the surprise of Gem’s eventual full team lineup ;P
As for Pearl, we’ll she has Tilly but Pearl takes a little longer to decide on names for her pokemon she really has to sit and think about it, so they might not gain names for a little while but she does intend to name all her Pokémon!
Please direct future asks to my account @wyvernspirit ! :DD"
Wyv answer!
#also i love the concept of gym leaders saying the actual name of their pokemon instead of their nicknames for the trainers#that's such a cool little detail

when i called my mom yesterday about Frend evolving, she brought up some interesting things she found recently. going through our attic, she found some old photos of my great-great-grandmother in a really old photo album. theyre REALLY faded, and she didnt wanna take a picture of them because she didnt want to risk taking them out of the album out of fear of them crumbling, but apparently there are a few photos of my great-great-grandmother sitting next to a Hisuian Zorua. i guess training Zoruas runs in the family, lol. seriously, i guess its an unintentional tradition on my mom's side. it makes sense that the ancestor in the photo would have a Hisuian Zorua though, since my mom's maternal side is primarily from Sinnoh, while her paternal side is from Hoenn. quite different climates, lol.

"I will leave with him and you'll never see either of us again." The Pikund spat with as much venom as she could muster, despite the dryness of her throat. This confrontation was obviously taking it's toll on her even as she tried to remain strong.
Adrienne flinched viscerally and for a moment the Raichu froze. The realization of what she'd almost done was damning, both of them well aware of what the raised paw and sparking cheeks meant. Despite the lingering fear in her navy eyes, the Pikund sneered at her mother. She used the hesitation as an opportunity to dart back to the edge of the clearing. Glancing over her shoulder one last time before she retreated, the Pikund growled.
"Guess things haven't changed at all." Her claws dug into the soil in an effort to ground herself, "I was wrong earlier when I said I was your daughter. You mean nothing to me."

I was the one who suggested Hatterene for Josuke! (Or at least I'm the first one I know of to have the idea.) I'm happy to see that I'm not alone in seeing that connection.
As for the others, I have a few ideas. Not all of them would represent their stands but I do have some ideas for other team members.
For Jonathan, I agree with Boltund being his main Pokémon, as well as having an Applin or an evolution of Applin. As for which one, I think Appletun fits him a bit better, if only because it needs a sweet apple to evolve. As for a third Pokémon, I could see him getting a Honedge during his journey, representing the Luck/Pluck sword.
For Joseph, I think Decidueye would work. I feel it has the right mix of trickster and noble heart to match with Joseph. Also, either regional variant works! Alolan fits with his more prankster nature and with him relying less on straight-up combat than any other Jojo in his bloodline, and Hisuian fits with his Hamon training background.
For Jotaro, Froakie fits very well, but I could also see Pancham being an interesting choice, since I'm pretty sure that both Jotaro and Pangoro are styled after the same kind of delinquent, and both have that 'looks intimidating but is really a sweetheart' thing going on. It works especially well in conjunction with Froakie, as Pancham's specific evolution requirements (needing a dark type in the party to evolve) means that both Froakie and Pancham will hit their final form at about the same time, since Greninja is itself a dark type. Also I have to bring up Finizen for the meme. Maybe it's a part 4 pokemon.
For Giorno... I'll admit, I'm stumped. Murkrow is too obvious, Gholdengo is too cheery, and neither of the ladybug pokemon that exist fit very well. If I had to choose one, I guess I'd go with Orbeetle, but I'm open for suggestions.
For Jolyne, maybe Mienfoo? It may not have the same attitude as Jolyne, being more disciplined, but that could serve as an interesting contrast. Plus, Mienshao's whips could represent Stone Free's string.
That's all I've got for now. I'm not as confident with Johnny or J8suke as I am with the rest, so even if I have ideas, I'll leave them be for now.
You said you wanted asks and I can't think of any decent ones so here goes: if the protagonists of each Jojo part had a pokemon instead of a stand, which do you think would suit each of them best? I think Jonathan would have some kind of dog pokemon like a Rockruff or something called Danny :3
Okay so...... my brain got stuck and I was only able to come up with Pokemon for a couple Jojo’s, so I hope this is okay-
For Jonathan, personally I think he’d have a Yamper/Boltund, to stick with the Danny idea, but also for the possible Hamon aspect of it. Plus, Yamper are super bubbly and excitable. I also like the idea of him and Erina each having an Applin because according to the games, in Galar(aka Pokemon England) giving someone an Applin is a sign of great romantic affection and that you’ll be together forever
Jotaro has a Froakie which eventually evolves all the way into a Greninja since Emo Water Boi, and he loves that little guy to death. He’s raised the little frog since it was an egg and loves him more than anything, and he’s also one of Two(2) living beings on earth prior to Stardust whom Jotaro felt comfortable with(the other being his mother). Also I like to think that after Jotaro becomes a marine Pokémon researcher he just has a ridiculous amount of water types, including a massive horde of Staryu/Starmie, one of which is a shiny
For Josuke, I can’t remember where it was or who did it, but I saw someone make a post about his having a Hatterene and I’ve jumped on that train. They had really good reasons and off of the top of my head they were 1) Crazy D colors, 2) has a capacity to both heal and deal loads of damage, 3) hair, 4) terrifyingly easy to piss off
And finally Johnny!...... I’m not fully sure which ones to give him for combat, but I like the idea of giving him a Ditto who helps as a mobility aid
Maybe my thoughts will change or expand later, but for now this is what I’ve got! I would love to hear what ideas anyone else has tho :>

i found my old gymleadersona from nearly 4 years ago (2018 on the bottom) so i thought i'd redraw it ⚡
i'm a newsboy who doubles as a small-town electric type gym leader! my pkmn help with my deliveries too :) more vain and unnecessary info under the cut bc i am a narcissist
omg min sona lore lol
so here's the deal i'm a young adult who's born and raised in a small town that, outside of the occasional aspiring pokemon champs and travelers, is mostly invisible to most people in the region. this is because literally nothing happens here and there are zero tourist attractions. it is the pinnacle of a passerby town. the only 2 things that are notable here is a post office and the pokemon gym; the post office (named "electro mail") is here because the town is so small, it's an ideal quiet host for mail and other deliveries. and the gym is here because ... uhhh idfk how pokemon worldbuilds its regions, i guess just cause it had enough open space and was in pokemon challenge gerrymandering range ???? dude who knows. artistic license or whatever
anyway since the town is so quaint, there are already very little people living in it, but especially very little pokemon trainers. the only active pokemon trainer family here is mine, and i inherited the gym leader position from my dad. we're an electric type gym because, despite the sleepytown vibe, the tiny community here is always active and enthusiastic. electric is kinda like high energy, eager activity right ...?
my sona works tirelessly at being both a gym leader and a paperboy. when i'm not challenging trainers i'm traveling to nearby towns and even across the region to deliver stuff and collect from mailboxes. you might have to wait a little if the gym doesn't have its final boss. it's lots of work and energy so even though i'm the electric type leader, i always look and act a little exhausted. my pokemon help me on my deliveries tho, and they r my best friends :)
if you fight me, my pokemon's levels will go as follows:
rotom: lvl 36
alolan raichu: lvl 37
boltund: lvl 37
emolga: lvl 39
emolga is my main pokemon and almost all of my pokemon (outside of rotom) know wild charge — if you beat me, you will receive the electro badge and the wild charge TM. idk what kind of gym challenge i would have. i don't really care. i never liked those puzzles in the first place so i probably wouldn't even implement one LMAO
#i feel like i'm legally not allowed to choose any other typing#bc emolga is my favorite pokemon ever :)#sorry for the very long and random and useless lore btw LOL#original#me#persona#sona#gym leader sona#concept art#original art#pokemon#becki draws stuff n stuff#becki's ocs
