I think it’s right shit of you to encourage people not to look at what that young man went through. How do you support and be a part of a fight when you don’t *KNOW* what you’re fighting for?

See here’s the thing, I didn’t answer right away, because I was (perhaps naïvely) assuming that there was just a little misunderstanding or misreading of what I said in my post, but you just keep coming back and the misinterpretation feels deliberately uncharitable at this point. I said:

“With the Tyre Nichols bodycam footage set to hit the news very shortly, I urge you all to take care of your mental health. You do not need to watch him be beaten to death to understand the horror of that fact, be outraged and contribute to his family, black America, and America as a whole’s ongoing fight.”

Cool? Cool. So here’s the thing. One of the family’s lawyers said Tyre was “a human piñata for these police officers.” That’s enough. For plenty of people that’s enough to provoke outrage, to understand. The image of a batons-out beating that phrase invokes is vivid enough, and you should let it be enough.

If someone’s heart or mind or stomach or soul are not strong enough — now or ever — to watch and listen to that sweet boy calling out for his mama as those five officers killed him, that should be ok. If watching would be so detrimental that more lives could be damaged or lost, I can’t imagine anyone would want that. Ms. RowVaughn — Tyre’s own mum — hasn’t watched it. Don’t begrudge someone their safety so long as they’re aware, outraged, and acting from that position of safety.

Heyo, friends!!

Here is yet another awesome character I've made art of for ArtFight: Sol, owned by @citrispace here on tumblr ^-^

They were depicted both as a child and a young adult, so I decided to lean more towards the latter for the actual appearance, while I took inspiration from both of them for the expression and over-all vibe of the character :]

The hair was so incredibly fun to draw! I just love this lava-lamp vibe so much, and the floaty bits were a blast to add in the end!

I'm really happy with how they came out looking almost like a paper doll in some of the detailing, I shade my line-art *as well as* the actual flat colours, which might be why that happens from time to time bahahahaha

I'm also extremely satisfied with how their expression turned out! They seemed like a really fun-loving character, so I wanted to draw them laughing at a good joke ^-^

Awesome character #4 aside, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! 🧡

there's something to be said about the specific brand of copaganda in horror where you are placed in the point of view of an officer and made to feel the fear they experience in an attempt to humanize them, especially knowing that that fear is used to justify cops both killing and refusing to save civillians, but I'm not smart enough to fully articulate it rn

you ACTUALLY THINK that’s an “elaborate breakdown” of what happened to this woman? she was wrongfully arrested. that detail absolutely belongs in the headline. if not, at the VERY LEAST they could have done without the “dragged screaming” bit. why is that important information?? of someone is being kidnapped by an overzealous, petulant cop, screaming is a very natural and predictable reaction. so why, why, why is that in the headline?

i’ll humor your idea for a second. maybe the headline doesn’t need any important information (it does). perhaps something more like “officer makes grievous blow to his career in this hospital” would be more appropriate. because why is the headline focused on the victim’s response?

the victim has no reason to be singled out in any headline, EVER. imagine an article about a murder. and the headline just says “man lay bleeding on the ground”. is that an “elaborate breakdown” to you too? i mean, it’s equally as descriptive as that title right there.

These are warriors from the Stars. Just like how I snitched on my grandparents to protect my cousin when she was a baby! We are warriors and protectors of the Future Generations!!! Also the Divine Judgement beyond this Earth Realm is totally different. Universe made her meet her maker. Being caged on Earth is nothing compared to an eternal detainment in a separate realm.
