Body Transformation - Cardio - Day 143
Spent Yesterday's Cardio session in the gym after work as Nicole and I weren't feeling the whole morning exertion thing. She hadn't slept well and I wasn't running off too many hours of sleep either. While I prefer to do my workouts in the morning, it's the evenings where I have the most energy and look forward to going. However, if I could just get my ass out of bed, a morning workout would save me a lot of time in the evening to do whatever I wanted and make it to bed at a decent time. I guess both have their trade-offs. Legs were sore as hell yesterday; probably worse than the previous day. Kind of made things interesting when I hopped on the treadmill. Each step I took shot pain to my glutes. I blame Sunday's Leg Presses on that one. After about 10-15 minutes, the muscle soreness went away but for some reason my lower calf/achilles tendon area was a bit tender. Not sure why but I do remember walking up that morning feeling like I had twisted my ankle or slept on my foot wrong. I guess it was helpful that I took it easy on the treadmill. I ran my older routine of interval speeds instead of running at a flat speed the entire time. Started at 3.5 mph and upped it 1mph every 2 minutes until I hit 7.5 from which I went back down. My lower leg was sore for the reasons stated above but I ran through the pain. Once I got to the step machine for the second half of my cardio, I was not bothered anymore from the soreness in my glutes nor the pain in my lower calf. Probably a different motion and a different group of muscles. Did the Kilimanjaro hill-climb mode for about 20 minutes with relative ease. I find that if I play with my phone, read the news or watch some TV, I get distracted enough from the step machine where I don't even realize how hard I'm working or sweating. Before I knew it, cardio was over and it was time to go home. On a different note, I think I'm starting to finally plateau; although the past 2-3 weeks have been a little out of the norm with holidays, birthdays and vacations. So I can't tell which is the culprit yet; it could be both. My weight graph on FatSecret is starting to show a plateau. I'm losing less weight less frequently which I'm comfortable with. I guess the only thing I'm not satisfied with yet before I bulk is my stomach. While I finally have my abs back, they aren't as defined or as crisp as I'd like them to be. Maybe another couple of weeks will help take care of that, or some additional ab exercises that I keep saying I want to do but never do. I guess it all comes down to me and what I'm going to do about it. Maybe bulking will help but I'm not looking forward to the additional fat gain which will probably show up in my stomach area first before anything else, that's why I'm a lot more open to bulking once my fat levels are as low as possible. Can't wait for tonights back and biceps routine. Felt like its been ages since I worked arms even though its only been about 4 days or so. Gonna #GetSwole
