Green Ajah of 4th Age (2/2)

Warders, "lesser bonds", and Weapons

Experimentation with the bonds have led to the discovery of so called lesser bonds, similar to those used in certain Aiel practices. Certain lesser bonds have been used to bestow a small amount of the benefits of being Bonded with more distance between the bonded, sacrificing strength for increased survival and less pain for those who lose a lesser bonded partner to death; Seen somewhat as an insult to the proud tradition of Warders, these are done only in emergencies and are often released after a short time. Bonds of Equals, where everyone in a more than two person bond is equally bonded to each other, sometimes have similar effects, as well as increasing coordination between teams of Warders.

With the use of a newly created Bond Speak Ter'angreal, it is possible to directly communicate words and images both seen and imagined across the bond. The Three Oaths and Tower Law forbid the making of Power wrought weapons, yet they do not ban the use most of them; This was not a problem when it was truly impossible to find such things and most were merely Swords that sharpened themselves, but now other orders of channelers make not only Ter'angreal but Power Wrought weapons, and some shockingly seel these objects. The Hall is divided on whether it is right to use such objects made by other orders, but a number of Aes Sedai, many Greens included, equip their Warders or even themselves with these weapons to better combat their enemies.

The Borderlands Tithe

The sheer number of New recruits among the Green from the Borderlands Bloc has created all kinds of ties between them, so it is merely natural for Greens to collect the tithes from the Borderlands. Going beyond tithes, though, Greens and Borderlands Tower Educated women and their families organize events to tie the Greens and Borderlands together, as well as to stealthily generate income for the Ajah and Tower; Festivals, markets, land deals, even convincing merchants to gift the Tower and individual Aes Sedai on their birthdays have brought in more money and goods. Other Ajahs have grown worried that the Green is getting too close to the Borderlands Bloc, some even whispering accusations that the Greens must be keeping tithes for themselves or are raising funds they do not inform the Tower of; The Greens have submitted to oversight and keep records open to the Hall, but further scrutiny is felt needed by some while others believe anymore would be an insult worthy of ceasing cooperation with the Hall.

Wandering Law of the Blight

Frontier Homesteads and fledgling towns are created out in the Frontier, permission or not, for the resources and new land available. Many are well organized, other lawless, many are homes, others solely exploitative profit driven endeavors; All are vulnerable to the remaining forces of the Blight. Free Trollocs who still raid, Everloyal Darkfriends, Sorcerers, and monsters of the Frontier are ever present dangers. The different claims of Borderlands nations, foreign colonizers, even Seanchan spies seeking to create a northen base of operations for the Empire mean not even other humans are safe. While the Borderlands Bloc weighs the costs and benefits of the calls to start a Crusade to forever cleanse and conquer the Blight, the Green Ajah above others have stepped up to protect and guide those in the Frontier. While they feud with the Wisdom Circles and Wilders who seek to actually help build lives in the Frontier, the Green still fights to protect them as they establish themselves. The Aiel at the Dragon's Grave, who form a new Sept or even Clan depending on who is asked, have joined them at times to combat threats nearby. As the nations decide on whether or not to even settle the Blight, or to find some agreement with its native inhabitants however monstrous they may be, the Green and the Tower as a whole both preserve the peace and threaten it.

Candidate for Amyrlin

Bodewhin Cauthon Sedai joined the Green Ajah to fulfill her quest for adventure and desire to protect the world. Talented with making Cuendillar, which she has used to create statues and monuments to famous Greens and Warders, her strength is known to be near that of Egwene al'vere Sedai. Being young, she has only taken the Shawl for a short time compared to most, but she has grown wise and confident in the Power. Her actions saved a war-torn Saldaea from invasion by Free Trolloc Raiders, her time within the blight Frontier led her to saving countless homesteads and fledgling towns, and though she never trained with the Aiel, she has become close to Wise One Peacekeepers. Her actions is Shara have been limited to her short time there, but she is famous for saving the Aiel occupied trade city from an Ayyad plot to liberate it. Her being the sister of Mat Cauthon, Prince of Ravens of the Seanchan Empire and Grand Marshal of the Band of the Red Hand, both furthers the effort to install her and hinders it. Her love for her brother is matched with her hate of the Seanchan, seeing them as mad with the Power they misuse. Some who support her being installed believe she could bring peace with the Seanchan or lead her brother to leave the Empire and weaken it, but others fear it would do the opposite. In other regards, people fear a Green Amyrlin like her, who supports colonizing the Blight and war with Free Trollocs, who feuds with the Seanchan along their borders, who is known as an enemy to the Sharans, would not protect the world from the next great threat the Greens swear to fight against, but might very well bring it.

Notes; Ok not to tired after yesterday so here's this! The Green have been memed a bit for the many times the "battle Ajah" did awful in battle, so I decided they realized they had to change that. Now they are stronger, but also more militarized and extended, facing dangers on multiple fronts. They are at the sites of great conflicts, as peacekeepers, but they might get overzealous and cause the very wars they want to prevent. I also think it's clear that they'd connec with the Borderlands more than other Ajahs, so they leaned into that. And as the Ajah of coice of Egwene al'vere Sedai, of course they would honor her sacrifice by filling the Tower with recruits again like she wanted. The Tower at large wants more influence in the affairs of the world, so ties to the Borderlands Bloc is good for them, since they are loyal to the Tower when most others are now Tower Skeptical. Bode being their main candidate for Amyrlin makes some sense, as she's roughly the same in power as Egwene, and she leaned Green already, and of course had the same chaos in her eyes and soul as Mat. Bodewhin Cauthon is basically Budget Egwene, so if you pick Mat you kinda get to have a mini-Egwene too. Or you could use Eldrin, who is a mini-Perrin or mini-Nyneave from the sound of it (claim to fame: stabbing a Trolloc with a boar-spear).

Bodewhin Cauthon was quite pretty, but she was an intelligent girl even so, though she had something of her brother around the eyes and rather more of him in her head than she was willing to admit. Undoubtedly she was already hard on the path to the Green, or perhaps the Blue. The girl wanted to live adventure, not just read about it, as if an Aes Sedai’s life would not bring her more adventure than she wished without searching for it.

Look I am always, always down to tell people about my headcanon that the Age of Legends had a moonbase (not canon but within the realm of possibility), that the Sea Folk are part of the Breaking-era African diaspora because RJ sank the entire effing continent just like Atlantis (this is canon per the maps in The World of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time), and that the Sea Folk culture is based partially on Pacific Islanders, who were great explorers, so I imagine there were Maori in the 2nd Age who were on the moon base, and also that some of the Sea Folk fled to the moon in the Breaking, and that eventually when the Breaking died down they all abandoned the moon and rejoined the rest of the Sea Folk.
