A shopping trip on Jedha ends abruptly when Cal discovers the memory of a previous owner still clings to an old toy.

Cal talks in his sleep, and Bode listens.

Cal keeps pestering Bode about giving him a lift, but Bode has managed to put him off so far, claiming weight limits (a full-grown Jedi is no joke). But they could probably make it. Especially if Bode...uses another tool in his arsenal. It's too early to show his hand—he knows Cal trusts him (and doesn't that point Bode's knife right at his own chest) but does the Jedi care for him? Enough to overlook—to forgive—the secrets Bode is hiding?

the mirror of our dreams

For @bodecalweek day 2 alternate prompt: mirror reflection

Cal dreams on Bracca, and sees a different reflection.

The night after Cal scraps a single-pilot Seppie transport, he dreams he's the pilot, flying free among the stars. Cal can only see the sky if he's trekking from scrapping to the workers' train, and only if it's that brief slice of the day when it's too early for breakfast but too late to sleep, when the interminable rain stops for a few precious seconds. So he holds onto the dream as long as he possibly can, breathing in the scent of droid oil and the whir of working machinery, and the sight of the blanket of stars haloing his cockpit. And the tiny flickering holo of the woman he's flying off to see, the puck hidden on him, just a closeup of her eyes looking up at him from underneath her scarf. The dream feels like an echo; Cal has no sense of himself, only the nameless pilot whose dream Cal has found, from some unknown time past. The cockpit lights form a smeared reflection on the viewscreen, but all Cal can make out of this dream self is the flash of white teeth against the dark of space. The comfort of knowing he's flying toward love coils soft in his belly, and Cal carries the feeling with him even when the dream falls away when his chrono sounds.

BodeCal Week 2025 Information

Welcome to BodeCal Week! This is a fandom week dedicated to the the relationship we love to mourn, be they lovers, enemies, friends, or some horrible and, let's be honest, totally canon combination of the three.

We will be holding BodeCal week from March 17th through March 23rd this year, and we hope to see all sorts of fanworks during that week and beyond!
