yes, yes, boba fett finds it strange and uncomfortable when people can see his face and this is one of the major reasons he almost never removes his helmet (in the expanded universe anyway), but another factor that i think isn't explored nearly enough is just how much his helmet shapes how he sees the world. it grants him 360° vision, lets him interface with his weapon systems and slave I, and automatically dampens loud noises and dims bright lights. imagine going through the vast majority of your life seeing the world through that lens and then suddenly taking it away. removing his helmet for any significant length of time likely isn't just uncomfortable for him but downright disorienting.

We are fostering a Siamese kitten. Her owner is a breeder/drug dealer. She was busted for drug possession -intended to sell- all of her kittens were dropped off at a local shelter by police. She is fearless and super cute. But prevents me from doing any work.

the thing about boba trying to sacrifice himself to mirta in bloodlines is that it must have been so perfect in his mind. like, okay. he already wants to make up for the pain he's inflicted on his family, all the more so after learning that his daughter is dead because of him. he knows that mirta blames him for the death of her mother, and he knows how fucking badly she must want revenge, bc he also lost a parent and was consumed by that same desire for retribution. and he knows he's doomed anyway! he's got an incurable genetic disease that's eating him from the inside out, so like, what has he got to lose? literally everything gets tied up neatly with a bow, and all he has to do is die. mirta gets her revenge for the loss of her parent and isn't consumed by it like he was. he doesn't have to die a slow death by cancer. and he gets to go out doing the only thing he's ever done right by his family. like, dying at that moment, by mirta's hand, must have felt like destiny to him.

but he doesn't get that neat-and-tidy, redemption-by-death ending. mirta doesn't shoot him. he doesn't get to have that one, golden moment that puts everything to right. he's doomed by the narrative, not to die, but to live
