I just got caught up on the bnha manga and boy do I have some thoughts about the future of the series. OBVIOUS SPOILER WARNING IS OBVIOUS
I don't know how to feel about the fact that bnha could be ending soon. On one hand, I'm glad that the final war arc is finally reaching its conclusion, but on the other hand, there are so many loose ends that I'm worried will never be tied up. I'm mostly worried about the future of class 1-A because every scenario that I thought of had something wrong with it:
Class 1-A continues studying at UA as if nothing had happened. This doesn't quite sit well with me because let's be real here, all of class 1-A were all more heroic than most of the Pro Heroes. Having them continue studying at UA would feel almost disingenuous to the entire final war arc. Despite this, I still feel like this is the best option for class 1-A. After everything that has happened, a sense of normalcy would probably be appreciated. Plus I'd love to see Shinsou as part of the hero course in their second year.
Class 1-A graduates from UA by default and all become Pro Heroes. I don't like this scenario for more personal reasons. The main reason why I love bnha so much is its academia aspects; I loved seeing the characters grow like actual students in a genuine school setting. Having the students graduate would be taking the main charm of the show away, at least in my opinion. Although I will say that it would be incredibly exciting to see the students that we've been following for the past 400 chapters become Pro Heroes, so I'm not entirely against this option either.
The hero society crumbles and heroes cease to exist, thereby disbanding UA and class 1-A. Honestly I'm only including this because it's a popular fan-theory, although I don't agree with it at all. It feels like a slap in the face to every student who faught in the war. It would genuinely be such a big disservice to have all of them who risked their lives fighting in the war, only for their dreams to be ripped from them. Another issue is that in my opinion, the heroes themselves isn't even the biggest flaw within the hero society. I feel like the biggest flaw with the whole system is how the general public views heroes. They see Pro Heroes as saints and pillars who can shoulder all of society's burdens and blames. Removing the job of Pro Heroes would just feel like putting a band-aid on an amputated limb, as the core issue of bnha's society shifting its blame onto others wouldn't be resolved. It would also just be scummy to title your series "My Hero Academia" only to remove the concept of heroes by the end of it. I'm not bashing Horikoshi's writing or even fans who support this theory, I just personally think that it's not a very plausible ending for bnha.
Again, I feel like option 1, where class 1-A continue to school as normal (followed by a time-skip when they become Pro Heroes) would be the best and most plausible option. However, I don't think it would be right for things to completely return to normal either.
I really hope that Horikoshi adds an arc after the current one that explores the aftermath of everything, including the public reaction to how hard the heroes faught against the villains and their unwavering spirit, which could also serve as a proper end to the overarching story of the broken hero society.
This is more of a tangent than anything else, but I CAN'T BELIEVE SHIGARAKI JUST DIED LIKE THAT??? I guess it makes me overly optimistic, but I genuinely thought at one point that Midoriya could save Tenko from All For One because it would be an incredibly fitting end for him. Tenko's main motivation behind becoming Shigaraki was the fact that not one person helped him when he was wandering the streets as a traumatised kid, and a common narrative that all of the League of Villains shared was how their fates could have been different had someone reached out a helping hand when they needed it most. Having Midoriya save Tenko from All For One would be such a satisfying ending, not only for the overarching story of the villains, but for those who wish that the villains could be redeemed. It would be such a perfect ending AND IT WAS TAKEN AWAY JUST LIKE THAT?? I don't buy it tbh maybe I'm just delusional but I have a feeling that the whole ordeal with Shigaraki isn't finished yet.
Lastly, IS MIDORIYA QUIRKLESS AGAIN?? Since Shigaraki had One For All when he died, that would mean that the quirk is also gone, right? So would that mean that he would no longer be able to become a hero? I could see this going one of two ways:
Shigaraki's not actually dead or One For All didn't disappear when he died, meaning that Midoriya can continue using it.
One For All really is gone and Midoriya is quirkless again, but he continues striving towards his goal of being a hero despite not having a quirk.
I think both options have potential and I wouldn't be opposed if either option becomes canon. Although, if Shigaraki gets revived for some bullshit reason, I might just riot. I know I literally just said that I'm not against Shigaraki not actually being dead, but that would require a plausible explanation for why he's dead but not actually dead. I think the most plausible explanation right now would be if somehow Shigaraki's quirk mutates and the "restore" part of it returns, which could "restore" his body again. But even that is a little...eh to me. Either way, I'm excited for what's in store.
You thought I was done, well SIKE! Let's talk about Midoriya's dad! Horikoshi has confirmed in 2018 that his identity will be revealed at some point, but it's nearing the end of the final war arc and still not one hint has dropped about Hisashi Midoriya. I feel like this could end up being another "Aoyama is the traitor" situation, where we think that Horikoshi has forgotten about this plot line, only for him to come back to it in full force that makes total sense in retrospect.
The most popular theory right now is that Hisashi Midoriya is actually All For One, and I actually kind of agree with it. I don't think that this is 100% going to be what Horikoshi goes with, but I think it's a pretty interesting idea that also has decent plausibility. Apart from the evidence that other fans have accumulated, there's also a lot of merit in the storytelling that could stem from this reveal:
It has already been established that the public is willing to turn their backs on heroes, no matter how much they sacrifice to ensure the safety of the civillians, if they believe that the hero is "immoral" in some way. The reveal that All For One is Midoriya's dad would be like the "Dabi is Touya" reveal except 10 times worse because this isn't just some villain, it's literally All For One. The public would not take it well, and that could be a great segue to directly addressing all of the issues about the hero society that Horikoshi has been building up.
This also completes the foil contrast between Midoriya and Shigaraki; two kids who were victims of the broken hero society, one born from a villain and one born from a hero, who become the opposite as they're taken under the wing of the greatest hero and the greatest villain. There's just something so poetic about that that I love.
Let's say that Tenko Shimura does get saved by Midoriya, imagine how he'd feel when he finds out that the person who saved him is directly related to the person who caused all of his pain and grief. It would probably break him, and this could lead to such an interesting arc of Tenko re-adjusting to a normal civilian life, dealing with the backlash that's bound to happen, and learning how to trust Midoriya again. It's such a compelling idea that I'm itching to write a fic about it.
But apart from that, there's also the fact that there aren't many other ways that would make the reveal interesting enough to justify it being such a long mystery. Think about it, there's probably a good reason that Horikoshi kept Midoriya's dad a secret for so long, and it would be lame as hell if he just turned out to be some guy. Having All For One be Midoriya's dad seems like one of the few ways for the reveal to be compelling. I could also see Midoriya being related to the Todorokis in some way, but then it would just feel like the "Dabi is Touya" reveal with extra steps.
And with that, I'm finally done with this ridiculously long post. Again, depsite my grievances, I'm super hyped to see what's to come with the series, and I'm genuinely so excited for chapter 424 to come out.

BnHA FINAL Prediction#01
Tumblr media
Prediction#01
The next chapter starts with Toga finally declaring her villain name and that's the name of the chapter.
Suppose, her name is Bloodlust or Bloody Lily (she is always connected to Spider Lily and blood is the source of her main power)
Either way, this could be another chapter fleshing out Toga as a villain, like we got a glimpse of her childhood and maybe middle school in the previous chapters, so maybe this chapter will show her breaking point.
As someone on Twitter pointed out, she has never killed anyone on screen other than Curious and Co and that was the moment when her quirk evolved.
Tumblr media
She didn't kill the bird in her childhood, she didn't kill Ochako or Bakugo in the forest arc, she didn't kill Camie in the Hero Licence exam, she didn't kill Eraser, and we were never shown that she killed that old lady either (in the war arc)
Most people just assumed she did that because of her nature. Then what was the turning point? We're never shown, but this chapter maybe and maybe that could lead to Ochako understanding her better and coming up with a solution with next chapters focusing on her story.
It goes with the current arc:
Chapter 391: The world that Rejected
Chapter 392: Villain Name
Chapter 393: Bloody Lily
Chapter 394: The world that accepted (Ochako's side of story, to balance things)
Chapter 395: Ochako Uraraka: ORIGINS
Chapter 396: Ochako Uraraka: RISING
Chapter 397: THE URAVITY OF DREAMS AND HOPES
Chapter 398: The two young girls (final conclusion to TOGACHAKO battle)
Chapter 399: Aftermath of TOGACHAKO battle
Chapter 400: Deku vs Shigaraki starts...
.
So, if everything goes well I'm expecting at least 7 more chapters for the TogaChako storyline because unlike other characters whose character arcs were very sorted and full-fledged from the beginning (Shouto, Bakugo and Iida) Horikoshi was saving this battle for the last. We don't know what Ochako will possibly do to reach out to Toga.
Tumblr media
No honey, that's not good enough.
Plus we don't know much about Ochako either, like Toga said "Ochako had an easy life because rules were made for people like her and she didn't need to deal with a single inconvenience" but we know that's far from the truth.
Tumblr media
Ochako had a rough life, her family was poor, she didn't eat her meals to save money. She got into a hero school on her own merit. She became a hero, only to give her parents a proper life.
Tumblr media
She saw her friends crying, teacher dying (midnight) and Ochako is a hero who wants to see everyone smile, and that includes Toga (the little girl whom the world rejected).
Tumblr media
But if she really wants to become the Uravity of her dreams, we need a solid foundation to back it up! Like how Iida wanted to be Ingenium: The hero who will dash to grab the hand of a lost child or Shouto: who wanted to be a reassuring hero like All Might.
Tumblr media
If we want all of this to happen, we need at least 7 back to back chapters!! And that too of at least 15 pages each, since there is still so much we don't know about them.
Plus the Twice Sad Man's Death Parade! Man if that came to a halt in less than 2 chapters, I am going on a rampage!! This death parade is going on for 20+ chapters now!! No way, it can be stopped in just 2 chapters!! Plus, I need a convincing answer as to how this parade will end. How can a single person such as OCHAKO put a stop to this entire army of clones.
Can Toga dying solve this issue? No, I don't think so.
The goal is to save her, not kill her.
Tumblr media
But can toga control her clones?
We don't know that either. So at least 7 more chapters.
Plus we can have our main Deku vs Shigaraki from chapter 400 onwards to 420. Remember, we still have All Might vs AFO and other battles remaining? So maybe the narrative can shift to that too.
Tumblr media
All Might vs AFO can contain glimpses of other battles too that are going on followed by a finale with All Might losing and going to Shigaraki. Then Deku vs Shigaraki, where Bakugo wakes up and they both defeat AFO Shigaraki together, Heroes Rising style putting an end to the story.
Conclusion:
TOGACHAKO battle: ch 390 to 399
All Might vs AFO: ch 400 to 405
Deku vs Shigaraki: ch 405 to 420
Tumblr media
(Here is little Deku for world peace)
~Thanks for reading
Cheers! Sunshine

thoughts on the new BNHA chapter if you've seen it
Imma be so real, i haven't been all that invested in the recent chapters. I've kept up with them but I don't find them all that interesting to me personally. I'll share my thoughts, just fair warning i may have some unpopular opinions;
First of all Izuku losing is arms is crazy. That panel is brutal. I do think there's a possibility of it being reversed/healed/etc bc I don't see Hori committing much when it comes to maiming or killing off the students, so I think he'll be okay
I'm also 100% positive Shigaraki is not dead, won't be permanently possessed, and will be fine. He's basically the only safe villain that isn't going to be killed off and will be given a redemption no matter what.
Those two points are kinda why I find this fight boring. There isn't any real stakes imo because neither of them will die and they're just kinda doing the same "fight, talk, fight, talk" thing the whole time. I find it uninteresting.
I also have no idea why afo is here again. Didn't he reverse to a fetus? Why are you here? That being said, he's silly and dramatic and i kinda love his evil mastermind swag, he makes it a little more bearable between Tomura "woe is me" shigaraki and Izuku "I need to be Morally Right even if I'm killing myself to do it" Midoryia.
Afo being revealed to have a hand in literally all of Tomura's upbringing down to his birth is SUCH a dumb plot point imo. It takes away all of the responsibly factor from Tomura's villainy, shoots a HUGE hole in the "one bad day" theme with the rest of the villains since it wasnt his choice - something that makes every other villain relatable and complex, they all (Dabi, Toga, Twice, Spinner, etc) were dealt terrible hands and subjected to horrible upbringings too but they fell into these paths of villainy by their own choices, and let it shape them. It makes them all very deep while Tomura... Just kinda ruined that theme by making nothing his choice. It's lame and unnecessary, imo.
Speaking of the other villains and plotlines, I really wanna go back to them and I DO NOT WANT them to be pulled into the Shigaraki vs deku thing. None of them are in the place for that physically (they're all half dead), none of its necessary since Shigaraki *is* being saved and has been met with more sympathy from characters/narrative than the rest of the villains, and their character plotlines are still not finished. Toga's fight was rushed, the "acceptance" she received was forced, and we don't know if either of them are okay. Last we saw Dabi he was possibly dying while cursing the entire family and saying he wants to die, none of the todofam stuff is resolved at all and if it gets off screened for the main fight I'm gonna be upset because there's so many complex layers to everything there. Last we saw Spinner he collapsed on the ground somewhere, he may very well be dead. No villains arcs have been finished, properly handled, or wrapped up and it's unnecessary and stupid to have their stuff be tossed aside for "saving Tomura." THEY need to be saved. How about Shigaraki vs deku gets wrapped up and Shigaraki saves THEM. That would fit the narrative better then them being used for more Tomura man pain.
That was a rant wow
Uh what else???
Idk. Im hoping everything gets wrapped up in this chapter bc this war arc has been... Shitty tbh. I wanna hope the aftermath arc is better.
I know everybody freaking out that my hero is coming to an end but I think we still got at least another arc to tie things together and wrap up all the mess of the war arc.

Hello I gave up BNHA after I realized that IIda's relevancy is just going to disappear. So.
What the fuck is happening rn
The manga is officially ending in about 3-2 more chapters, so Horikoshi is wrapping up all of the story's loose ends in that short amount of time. I'm not sure where you stopped, but basically there was a huge final war arc, and now that the war is over, so is the manga. These last few chapters have just been the aftermath of the war and kind of answering the question of "what is hero society going to do now" or "what are the kids doing now" etc
Personally, the last few chapters have not been entirely great!! At least in my Villain-stan opinion (I'm not sure how others feel about the ending so far). Some scenes/characters feel rushed, and hero society does not feel like it's going to improve after the whole... war thing... so it's a bit frustrating that the story is ending like this. I don't like what happened to Izuku's character either (or at least whatever is left of it).
I'm not sure if you wanted spoilers, so I'm keeping it vague on purpose. 😭 But yeah,, I also got into MHA as an Iida-stan at first, before focusing more on the League of Villains later on,,, I was pretty upset by how Iida's relevancy got shortened after the Stain arc. He was one of the few heroes I liked in the series;;
If you're curious about catching up (at least to see how the series ends) now is a good chance to do that since its almost over. The story has its ups and downs, but imo it's mostly just villain stans that are in pain rn (hence why i am a whiner).

Can you do a scenario of Bakugou aftermath of the manga war right now, cause sense he had so much character development I think he have changed majorly big. And was wondering a bakugou x reader, aftermath after battle. I hope your up to date with the manga rn cause it’s super sad :(
But Mabye a scene of reader x bakugou, he wakes up in hospital and sees her waiting next to him in a chair waiting for him to wake up. And when he does he’s glad to see her alive and asking so many questions ☹️ maybe even a lil romantic vibe at the end ??!??😌
That would be so sweet thank you’!!
this is such a cute request ! i've been thinkin of writing a post war fic lately so thank you for the ask ! i tried to honour your request as best i could, hope you'll like it ! <3
Tumblr media
BNHA MANGA SPOILERS !!, fem reader, injuries n blood n stuff, reader cries easily sorry im projecting, katsuki n reader have been together for a while (since before the first internship arc !)(..does this technically qualify as childhood friends to…anyways !), worried reader, worried katsu so its a lil angsty but it's pure fluff no worries !, kissing, katsuki is touchy and cannot pass up skin contact, katsuki is a biter cus i say he is so biting, best jeanist is here!! (and maybe kinda ooc cus idk him like that😭🫶🏾), afo is mentioned and called a ballsack lmfao i hate him, everyone is fine and dandy and healthy(?) cus im a major optimist, lemme know if i missed sum else<3!
Tumblr media
it's been three weeks since katsuki's been asleep.
you'd woken up a week and a few days after the war had ended. you don't remember much besides fighting for your life, that of your friends and of the people of japan. you were greeted with the worried, relieved and snotty faces of your classmates. denki and kirishima had basically tackle hugged you and were immediately strictly reprimanded by iida and momo. your limbs hurt like hell but you could ignore it and focus on squeezing your friends for now.
except not everyone was here. you immediately realised katsuki was one of them.
you were horrified to find out from your friends, who were sure this would be your reaction and were refraining from telling you, that katsuki had once again suffered major injuries and had been asleep for a good week now.
your classmates had tried to reassure you, "bakugou's always doin' the impossible, he'll probably be awake and he'll go back to cussin' up a storm before we know it." sero said, trying his best to comfort you. you send him a smile that doesn't fully reach your eyes, but you still appreciate him nonetheless.
since that day you'd gone to visit him everyday. sometimes you'd just stare at his pretty lashes fluttering, wondering when he'd wake up. other times you'd talk to him about your day. it was boring, since you were still healing and still stuck in the hospital, but it was something.
your classmates came to visit too. kirishima comes to visit the most but you assume he’s just here to check up on you and make sure you’re okay. he stays for around an hour, sneaks you some actually edible food then always leaves you with a “don’t push yourself too much, okay !”
you go to visit your other classmates, like izuku who had also taken a major beating, but was just as stubborn as your katsuki when it came to durability. you’re amazed to see how quickly he goes back to his old self, anxiously waving his arms around and telling you he’s completely okay, before promptly wincing and yelping out an “ouch !” when he moves his arm the wrong way. you jokingly warn him not to push himself too much too quickly or you’d mess him up even more than he already was every time you leave.
“i’ll try !” he chuckles, giving you a thumbs up.
you’d also met best jeanist recently, who had come to visit your boyfriend one day while you were also there. he told you that katsuki had talked about you once and that, in best jeanist’s words he seemed to be very enamored with you. you couldn’t help the way you shyly looked down at the ground, letting out a flustered chuckle and you thought you heard best jeanist laugh underneath his long, long turtleneck.
you’re currently sitting by katsuki’s bedside for the fourth monday in a row, smiling to yourself as you watch him sleep. you wonder if he’s dreaming about anything. despite the fact you looked it up and people can’t exactly dream while they’re in a coma, but you like to think he’s just asleep and having a very nice dream. the thought makes you happy, but it also makes a knot grow in your throat.
“i do hope you're having nice dreams, but i also hope you wake up soon." you whisper lovingly, brushing some hair out of his face. you run your finger along his nose bridge and cheek, usually he wouldn't be able to take soft touches like this for more than 10 seconds before getting embarrassed and pushing your hands away, trying to distract you from his beet red cheeks. you let out a watery giggle at the memory.
your throat starts feeling a little dry and as much as you don't want to leave katsuki, you figured you wouldn't miss much if you were only gone for a few minutes. you press a quick kiss to his forehead and before you get up to leave the room you look back at him once more time. only to see something strange, his eyelashes flutter more than usual, then his eyebrows furrow,
and then his eyes open.
he blinks groggily once, then twice. he tries to reach up and rub at his eye but the bandage on his arm won't allow him to and he winces. he realizes someone is in his room after a second, slowly looking up as if in slow motion. but then his movements fast forward when he realizes it's you in his room.
his eyes widen and he practically jumps up. hastily sitting up and leaning against the railing of his bed towards you
"yn—fuck !" but he seems to have underestimated how serious his injuries were in the moment. he doubles over and hisses in pain. the noise kickstarts you and immediatly you're in motion. you rush over to him, softly but urgently grabbing his shoulders you softly push him back against his pillows, he groans as you do. "don't sit up so quickly !" you fret "just lay down—"
he grabs your arm with his somewhat okay one tightly as soon as you make contact, "are you—fuck—are you okay ?" he asks breathlessly, his eyes urgently search around on your face and he frowns slightly as he scans over your light scratches. " fuck, i passed out before i could get to check up on you.." his eyebrows furrow even harder, mad at himself for not being able to watch over you.
he lifts his not so injured hand up just slightly and you lower your head so he can place it against your cheek. he rubs over it slowly "yer not hurt, are ya ? i mean—fuck, you are, but—"
"katsu.." you smile, already shushing him.
"nothing broken ?" he starts up again, prodding at every body part he can reach. you giggle lightly. "yer all bandaged up. swear i'll find the bastards who did this shit to you."
"i already dealt with them, so you don't need to worry about that." you chuckle. he copies you, his movements slow down the slightest bit and he chuckes slightly and you've missed that sound so much your heart squeezes.
“yeah, course you did..” he sighs, eyes shining brighter than usual and you suspect he’s tearing up a little when he swiftly looks away from you to wipe at his face, you don’t comment on it cus you could feel tears welling up in your eyes as well.
he tsks at the mostly okay, but still injured, arm against his face before pulling it back glaring at it, “this shit’s a real pain.” he mutters angrily, sucking his teeth.
you spring into action again, like a toy starting up when you wind it “don’t move it so much, you messed it up really badly during the fight !” you both notice how you flinch back when you instinctively go to grab his hand, then reach forward once more and barely grab his hand to guide it towards his lap, and then his body towards the pillows behind him again. katsuki’s eyebrows furrow at your ghost like touch.
he doesn’t say a word as you ramble and simply stares at you. you’d noticed he hadn’t even put up a fight when you’d pushed him back down onto his bed, but you were more worried about his well being rather than his behavior. but now you start to get a little bit worried at his lack of reaction, you place your hand on his chest softly, afraid to hurt him "wait just a sec, i'll go get a nur—"
"no." you let out a surprised sound when he grabs your hand. he stares straight into your eyes, and the bright red shine in them is such a huge contrast to them being closed for so long it almost knocks the wind out of you.
he vehemently shakes his head "i don't need none of that."
"katsuki, you need—"
"no i don't." he says stubbornly, you don't know if you're happy or not that he seems to be just as stubborn as before everything happened. it's a relief, sure, but it's starting to annoy you a bit. you want to fire back but he cuts you off "i don't need a nurse. need you." he mutters into your hand he had brung up to his lips to speak his last sentence against.
it’s only a light press of his lips against your skin but it sends chills down your spine. he does it again, red eyes fixed onto you to bring his point across. you suck in a harsh breath, then sigh in defeat.
"okay.." you sigh. "but we still have to get a nurse later." he grunts into your hand in begrudged agreement, "later." he mutters.
once he's gotten his feel of you, he slowly lifts his head up to look at you. he shuffles around in bed until he's sitting up a little straighter, waving you off when you sit up to help when he winces slightly.
he reaches for you and tugs at your arm lightly, as if he wanted you to sit closer to him. you happily oblige, scooting a little closer until you're leaning infront of him. he grumbles, obviously unhappy about something.
"come over here." he whines petutalanty.
you giggle at his childish demand "katsuki, no. you're very hurt and i don't wanna make you feel worse if i accidently push at something too hard. we can cuddle all you want when you get checked up." you explain. he’s obviously unhappy about that, rolling his eyes accompanied by a huff.
just like he usually would. you feel your eyes burn but your chest feels lighter and lighter the more you realize he’s here. your holding his hand and he’s holding it back, you’re looking at him and he at you.
it’s your katsuki.
“that’s bullshit, m’perfectly fine.” he scoffs.
you give him a once over, raising a brow for good measure “right.” you laugh when he scoffs again, but he can’t hide the smirk growing on his face at the sound.
it’s your katsuki, alright.
it’s quiet while you’re just indulging in each other’s company, the worry in your stomach gnawing at you every day he wouldn’t open his eyes these past few weeks finally washing away as you look at him lovingly when he closes his eyes and sighs against your skin.
“stop starin’.” he complains against your hand he still had in a tight grip, cheeks turning red. it seems like he doesn’t want to let go of it any time soon and doesn’t have any plans to as he bring it up to his mouth to bite you. you struggle and squeezes at his nose with a grin.
“hey, is it so bad to wanna look at my boyfriend that he’d been sleeping every day up until now ?” you make it sound like a joke, but your smile falters slightly and katsuki realizes. his eyes widen slightly.
"how..how long was i out for ?" his voice is still clouded with sleep even now. you plop back down onto your chair, dragged closer to him now “about three weeks.” you mutter, sad smile on your face and eyes downcast.
neither of you say anything for a moment and you’re quickly reminded of the quiet you’d gotten used to when he was still asleep. you don't like it and you want to fill the silence but you don't know what to say. katsuki doesn't respond and keeps looking at your expression, blinking slowly, like he does when he's trying to discern how you feel. he's annoyingly perceptive and you feel yourself get flustered by his gaze.
"now who's the one staring.." you mutter shyly, eyes drifting towards the floor to close him off of your mind with those all seeing eyes of his. you can tell he's seen through you, but it's worth a try anyway.
he reaches and tugs at your chair leg for you to scoot closer somehow. once, then twice harder when you don't make any move to listen to him. he grunts and you worry he'll hurt himself like he always end up doing when he’s not being careful, so you lean your face closer to him. you'd stare at him at all day like this if you could but your eyes won't look in his properly before they're shooting back towards the floor, katsuki huffs a breath of laughter onto your cheek.
"m'not allowed to look at my girlfriend after bein' passed the fuck out for three weeks ?" he smirks his eyes are soft even when he gruffs a mean laugh when he reaches up to pinch your nose back and you grumble at him, softly patting at his hand to shoo him away with a smile you try to hold back. he pokes at your cheek, you go to shoo and scold him but he surprises you by softly placing his hand against your cheek.
“was worried about you, you know.”
your eyes widen and your mouth drops open slightly at his sincerity. your heart warms and you can't stop the tears blurring your vision anymore. you clamp your mouth shut so as not to sob, but your bottom lip wobbles and katsuki huffs again.
"was thinkin 'bout you the whole time. hate that creepy ballsack head,” he grumbles bitterly “kept me from seein' my girl." he smiles when you let out a watery snort. you grab ahold of the hand on your face, running your thumb across the rough skin.
"i heard you really did a number on him."
"course i did. fuckin' decimated the fucker." he boasts and you laugh loudly. "made him cry like a baby. literally." he adds, you raise a brow in question but he simply shakes his again, as if telling you not to worry about it.
you don't question it and simply sigh against his hand happily, it feels nice to feel him again. "the others are gonna be happy to see you up. kiri's been coming to visit you every day. and i've forbidden izuku from getting out of bed, but he asks about you all the time."
katsuki scoffs, thumb slowling down in its movements "damn deku.. he better not think he's hot shit cus he woke up before me." you snort loudly at that, shaking your head at his childish antics.
"good he's not runnin' around. he'd probably end up breaking more of his bones by himself."
"that's what i said !" you giggle, and katsuki snorts. you missed hearing him. you missed him so much, you reach a hand up and wipe at your still wet eyes, katsuki grabs at that hand to wipe at your tears for you.
"was worried about you too, katsu." you sniffle "when i heard you got yourself hurt bad again i just—i got really scared.”
your boyfriend's eyebrows furrow sorrowfully and he wishes his body wasn't so weak so he could wrap you up in his arm and feel you close, never let you go. but his hand against your wet cheek will have to do for now.
but katsuki is a creature of habit, so he speaks "come over here." he whispers.
you lean in a small distance at first, not really sure of what he wanted you to do. katsuki grunts but when you get close enough he reaches for the back of your head and pulls you in, pressing his lips to yours.
and it's everything. soft yet his grip on you is firm, slow yet urgent when you grab the front of his hospital clothes and he huffs against you when he shoves his tongue into your mouth with a soft groan. eyebrows furrowing in focus to handle his breathing because he doesn't want to pull away.
not yet.
you're first to pull away but he doesn't let you go far, immediately swooping in for another kiss, this one just as- if not more urgent-than the first. you softly run your hands through his soft locks and try to memorize the feeling like you hadn't been touching it everyday for the past three weeks. it feels different now.
not yet.
finally, you pull away even after katsuki chases your lips with a pout. you giggle and tug at his hair and he huffs at you, and leans forward to bite at the tip of your nose.
"katsuki !" you squeal flying back to wipe at your nose.
“don’t katsuki me” he chuckles, cheeks dusted pink. from the lack of oxygen just a moment ago or from embarrassment you don’t know, “ ‘ts your own fault, dumbass.”
you scrunch your nose and stick your tongue out at him and he snickers again. you’d missed that sound. you’d missed his laugh, and his stupid nicknames and his voice, the way he says your name and his eyes and his smile.
“i missed you.” you breathe, smiling at him with what you know can only be called heart eyes. katsuki blinks at you, turning red to the tips of his ears. he looks away but reaches for your hand, you give it to him and he presses his lips to the back of your hand.
“missed you too. really did.” he mutters.
this is the most embarrassed you’ve seen him and the sincerest at the same time, you commit the image to memory as your stomach flutters and your heart beats for him. and his for you. you can feel it in the way his hand steadily gets warmer, the way he closes his eyes and breathes you. in the way he kisses each of your fingertips and finishes it off with a bite to each to make you laugh.
you both know a lot of things still need to happen but they can wait for now. for now, his heart is here, beating with yours. your katsuki is awake and back where he’s supposed to be.

Okay but I’m thinking about the Steatoda Widow Agency (Abiteth’s mother’s agency) is a backseat Agency that the HPSC only calls in for rescue assistance in the AFTERMATH of battles only - so in this AU Dabi and Abiteth wouldn’t meet until AFTER the current war arc (after everything is said and done).
TW for discussing things like self harm and referenced eating disorders below so I’m putting it all under the cut.
Anywho I was thinking about how Dabi gets rewound (only to a certain point, basically gets reverted back to before his fight with Shoto started, so he has the new scarring), and especially since Eri is still SUPER YOUNG and can only DO SO MUCH - I’m debating if Rive will be the reason that Dabi gets rewound still based on how Rive’s quirk works (this is Abi’s father btw, he is also a doctor and the figurehead of Central Hospital in any BNHA based AU and/or story I have).
Some of the villains are going through rehabilitative therapy and the chairman of this new program, after 5 months of little to no progress with Dabi, sends tapes of Dabi (and some other villains) to the Steatoda Agency because he figures that if anyone can help w/ these villains it’s the people who specialize in rescue measures. The facility also has monthly physical exams to ensure that all the patients are physically healthy, and I mean... they’re doing their best on the mental/emotional thing but some villains (like Dabi) make it INCREDIBLY difficult. Also in all of these rooms there’s basic amenities, the villains get mostly free reign of the establishment until the evening when they have to go back to their rooms - all of them have also since been implanted with quirk limiters internally so that they can’t actually can’t claw the limiters off or anything like that (doesn’t mean some of them haven’t TRIED to cut them out if they got their hands on any nearby sharp object but I digress).
The Steatoda heroes are called in after about two weeks of going over all this footage, and Hawks shows up too but the chairman of this facility didn’t actually WANT him there, and has some of his own guards keep a close eye on Hawks because he’s CONVINCED that Hawks is there to kill some of the villains (even though Hawks like, ISN’T THERE TO DO THAT and told the chairman as much, the chairman doesn’t believe him. The Steatoda heroes don’t trust him either). This is so the Steatoda heroes can observe the villains, though in this specific case, Dabi in particular because the chairman THINKS something is up, he’s just not sure WHAT.
Tl;dr Dabi, from observations Abiteth and her colleagues make after viewing the footage of Dabi’s room in particular, is doing the following:
refusing to sleep, and when he does sleep, he squeezes himself UNDER the bed so he’s out of view of the camera
sits underneath where he learned the camera is positioned therefore making it impossible to 100% know what he’s doing in the room if he’s in that specific corner (where he honestly always is)
Ofc this makes it clear he doesn’t LIKE being watched/monitored, and even though the chairman agrees that they really can’t keep watching him like this, he’s on their self-unalive watch because of all the villains, he is the one who was most notoriously desperate to take himself out (this is why the chairman enlisted the help of the Steatoda Agency in the first place). They watch all the inmates eat lunch after this and Dabi is behaving p normally for someone who is hungry - oh btw Hawks is keeping himself very much out of sight, because he knows and the chairman knows that the SECOND Dabi sees him all hell will break loose, because from some semi-successful therapy sessions they’ve realized that Dabi Very Much Wants To Kill Hawks In The Most Violent Way Possible TM - but she gets that bad gut feeling when the heroes are going to reconvene with the chairman to discuss his EATING BEHAVIOR.
So she wanders into the hall where Dabi’s room is located after this and finds Compress/Geten guarding a bathroom, but she walks down the hall like she’s not paying attention to them, then gets to the end of the hall, and turns around to make her way back. Dabi comes out of the bathroom and as she’s passing by they make eye contact and he does that “th’ fuck you lookin’ at” eye/nose twitch, but HERE I SHOULD MENTION THAT ABITETH HAS A VERY GOOD SNIFFER, and she faintly smells vomit and TL;DR she continues this wandering down that specific hall after lunch/supper for about 3 days but then finds that Compress/Dabi/Geten have made the conscious decision to guard a DIFFERENT BATHROOM that is NOT in that specific hall and so she very rightly comes to the conclusion that Dabi is purging, because IF he has been forcefully exhausted all of his other options to unalive himself, then starvation is the next option, and it has ONLY flown under the radar so far because he KNOWS when the facility does the monthly physical so he gets himself into better condition for that time only and then goes back to purging.
To confirm her suspicions the chairman orders an emergency medical/physical examination on Dabi and they watch the camera to his room and his IMMEDIATE reaction to the nurse is “what the fuck are you doing here” and “you’re not supposed to BE HERE” and then using the bed as a threat because while only at a FRACTION of his usual strength he’s still quite strong. He refuses to go with the nurse and Abiteth states she can convince him to go, and at first the chairman is like “well he’s going to know that you’re deceiving him” and Abiteth is like “I’m not gonna’ deceive him”, and she asks Dabi to go on a walk with her and he’s like “do you think I’m fucking stupid” and Abiteth replies “no, because you know that at the end of the walk we’re going to end up in the medical wing”, and he decides “fine I guess I’ll go on a walk with you” because he legit wasn’t expecting her to be honest.
There’s more in here about how Abiteth berates Mera for having Hawks/Enji around and something more about how heroes have only ever HURT Dabi so why would he expect any of them to be kind to him or honest to him, when all his experiences with heroes thus far have been that they are cruel/unkind to him and lie to him (which plays a role in the below situation with Abiteth taking a leave of absence from active hero duty effectively making her a civilian).
Anyway that’s all I’ve really got so far, apart from some other events that result in the Steatoda heroes determining that Dabi is legitimately scared, and especially after Hawks (who is kinda sorta there at Mera’s request to determine if certain villains - one of those villains ofc being Dabi - should still be in this program as they’ve made little to no progress, so like no shade to Hawks pls he’s just trying to do his job) enters Dabi’s room and he understandably FREAKS OUT because he a) can’t use his quirk so he has no real way to defend himself FROM Hawks and b) is in a confined space where it would be very easy for him to get shredded by Hawks’ feathers.
Then ofc the Todoroki family gets involved and Enji/Rei and the kids DO just want Dabi to get better but ofc it’s not going well, and in the end Abiteth takes a leave of absence from working as a hero after consulting w/ the Chairman and Mera (y’know the new president of the HPSC) as everyone comes to the conclusion that Dabi will never get better if he’s confined to a facility that is constantly watching him. This leave of absence is more of a trial period thing and Hawks has to check up on Dabi’s progress weekly (at first, then bi-weekly, so on and so forth until he believes he doesn’t HAVE to check up on Dabi/Abi).
Dabi gets put under house/street arrest so he’s only allowed to be in Abiteth’s home and on the street where she lives and ONLY allowed outside if Abiteth is with him (very STRICT), and after she brings him home and she shows him his room and he finds NO CAMERAS he just face plants onto the bed and falls asleep for like. 3 WHOLE DAYS. JUST SLEEPS. But NATURALLY having access to things like sharp kitchen utensils makes the beginning of Abiteth helping him very rough but she does her best to take it in stride. And okay this, THIS IS ALL I GOT, this is AS FAR AS I GOT.

BNHA 325 - CLOSE TO THE END OF THE WAR'S AFTERMATH ARC
This is, I hope, one of the last chapters of the War Aftermath arc, or Villain Hunting arc.
I hope it is not because I didn't like it, I honestly did: it showed many important things, like the feelings of unease, mistrust and rejection coming from the civilians, fueled by reasonable fear, but that can become exaggerated at times and push heroes to leave, worsening the situation and making the work difficult for the heroes that are left... Midoriya is also another example of how the civilians, while afraid themselves, are being too paranoid and not understanding enough towards a boy that chose to forsake everything, even his own mental health, just to keep people safe. They also finally come to terms that hero worship isn't the best thing to do, in times of peace AND war, because hero-worship is also considering the heroes to be so invincible that they cannot fall down and have difficulty in rising back up... They finally realize this thanks to Uraraka's valiant speech and the proof of it standing in front of them as a crouching, crying, tired Midoriya.
I loved the Shouto and Endeavor panels in this arc: Endeavor was trying to do his best with tracking All For One down alongside other heroes and Midoriya, and he was also trying to counter the diminishing number of active heroes and explosion of criminality... Shouto, however, is righteously angry that Endeavor didn't let him join the search for villains, when he himself promised they would have stopped Dabi together, all while making an exception for Midoriya. Endeavor in the end seemed to acknowledge that the students, and his son, could handle being out in the field after the war and help Midoriya better, which is as someone pointed out a "passing the torch" moment of sorts: he gives them his phone with the GPS and lets them convince Midoriya on their own, reassuring his colleagues that they won't be a nuisance. Also, the panels showing Shouto's face are as always important and deliver his emotions well: his face during Bakugo's apology was kind of nostalgic and understanding, and, during the different speeches used by the heroes and Uraraka to calm the civilians down and let Izuku return to UA, we can see him almost shake in anger because his best friend is being attacked and he is far away with his father and Hawks, that are later ushered in by Ectoplasm. His face brightens with relief when Uraraka makes her move. In 325 he reminds his father, again,, that they have to stop Dabi, Touya-nii, together, and Endeavor finally agrees.
I just really love all the Todofam, and respect Endeavor's attempts at being better, even though his past behavior was awful; Natsuo and Shoto have all the right to, respectively, despise him to the moon and back and stay on the fence in regards to his redemption arc. I really think Endeavor will have an important role in stopping Touya, while Shoto will be the one that truly saves him.
(THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE WAS ADDED LATER)
My favorite moment after the Uraraka speech is the civilians handing out umbrellas to the students. It signifies that they are recognizing the efforts made, and they realize that the heroes, expecially Midoriya, need a moment to catch their breath and get back up.
Bakugo's apology... was top-tier. Absolutely top-tier, and secured his place as my number 2 favorite character (Midoriya is at the first place). I cried when he said those things to Midoriya, and I hope they can have another talk like this in a calmer environment where Midoriya acknowledges his apopolgy or simply talks about his feelings with Bakugou. I cannot stress it enough, Bakugou's character development is incredible.
We've also seen Stain follow All Might and probably even Midoriya during the arc, and I honestly don't know how to interpret All Might's panel in 325. Did he speak with Stain? If he did, what did they talk about? Did Stain warn him about something, give him an omen, so All Might is worried? Why show us Stain close to All Might in the previous chapters if it didn't bring them together for a talk? Is Stain still a zealot of his own philosophy, or is he starting to see the problems that lie in it? Will he work with the heroes, even if not-so willing?
We also finally understand Aizawa's situation, and it isn't nice: Aizawa has lost an eye, a leg, another friend; his other friend is being interrogated and they are trying to bring him back from his state as Kurogiri, that only came to be because Shirakumo's body was desecrated or stolen, and he... Well, Aizawa wants revenge. He isn't in a good place right now, the most he feels is probably anger at himself and the villains, and he's still reluctant to get back in the game with his prosthetic. Some of his anger is obscured by his pride in Iida and the other students for getting Midoriya back, luckily. Let's hope he starts being less hard on himself and the villains soon, although I honestly won't blame him for how he's feeling.
All Might's been feeling badly in the recent chapter, it's easy to imagine: Midoriya has pushed himself so much and gone over his limits, hurting himself in the process, because of the responsibility felt from bearing OFA. I hope he talks with Midoriya soon and that they hug again.
This arc was very good, and I actually liked the slower pacing. It's not the best way it could have been delivered because of how slow it was, but I liked it nevertheless.
EDIT: Alongside the paragraph explaining how I feel towards the Todofam, I'm adding this: thanks for all the likes. I'm rather new to Tumblr, and I hope I can bring interesting metas or opinions to the fandom of BNHA. As always you are free to disagree with them.

Maybe ochako will still get a cover?
With all the breaks and drawn out developments in bnha recently, I don't think what horikoshi said about the story ending so soon is true anymore, or at least not in such a small number to the finish and definitely not by the end of the year or around there.
So who really knows how many more volumes there's going to be or what part ochako will play in them?
As big of a part she's played in the story, especially here in recent arcs, it seems like there's still a good chance
Honestly, I have lost hope and I'm pissed at the author.
THIS IS SO UNFAIR.
What's more annoying is that it's not even bad contextually, because Ochako vs Toga (the main battle) doesn't happen in vol 38 and we also see Toga getting this crisis moment where she thinks "Why couldn't I truly become Jin?" in vol 38 only, where she wrecked havoc in the battlefield. But then, it was about Ochako too, who noticed her tears and we got this beautiful double spread...
Tumblr media
It was about Ochako noticing Toga's tears and reaching out to her. And If Horikoshi knew, he was gonna cram the entire Todoroki Drama, TogaChako battle and AMvsAFO in vol 39 only then why didn't he pre-planned to get everything in order?
Since DabiShouto already got a cover, he could have just made that colour page as the cover for Vol 38 and then give us an AMvsAFO cover for Vol 39. This way, we would have all Duo VS covers, with DkSg, DbSh, TgCk and AMAFO. But nope! He decided to please all fans instead of giving justice to its main FL, he decided to give Toga an entire cover and then cram all other three in the next one which sucks!
If it was an entire page dedicated to TodoDrama or AM, I wouldn't have many complaints because at least it was dedicated to a single motive but by trying to please all his fans, he made a blunder, and it turned out to be a weird mixture of 3 characters who never had a proper one-on-one interaction in the entire manga.
AND I must say, I hate this cover with all my might because I could NEVER get over the fact that Ochako was robbed, not once, not twice but thrice!
And to answer your question, no. With how Hori is wrapping up all the plotlines, it is highly unlikely that the manga will drag any further. In fact, we would be lucky if we even get a proper aftermath after this war.
Since BkDk are his favorites, he would dedicate his entire time in making them the star of the show (as if they aren't already are) and it's highly unlikely that Ochako will ever get any spotlight again in the manga.
Plus, there were just so many big moments where she could have gotten some spotlight but then, it's just another shallow case of favouritism by the authors.
I'm sooo angry, I might as well write my own Manga at this point.

Things are getting dark in the BNHA manga, so I wanted to return to brighter times and do a post on Inko Midoriya and her many parallels with All Might. Their interactions are some of my favorites in BNHA, not as a ship (although I am multi-ship friendly) but as two adult humans with little in common and no overlapping life experiences that nonetheless become co-parents because of deep empathy and one determined kid with a knack for bringing people together. The canon Inko-All Might interactions are short, but they occur at critical points in the story and touch on almost all major themes of the series.
The main chapter where All Might and Inko meet starts with them depicted as adversaries, facing off for a fight. #1 hero vs mama bear! Except...they don’t actually fight. They talk through what they each want for Izuku and come to a mutual understanding. These characters really see and trust each other in a way that contrasts with the Todoroki “watch me” story. Before I dive deep, check out the difference between the beginning and the end of Chapter 97, because this art is everything:
Tumblr media
Ok, now for the good stuff.
1. In a story about succession and what we owe future generations, Inko is All Might’s predecessor with respect to Izuku. If Nana Shimura gave him OFA and made him a hero, Inko gives him a second life and unofficially-but-actually-officially makes him a “dad.”
2. Much like how All Might can’t be the sole pillar supporting society, Inko can’t be the sole pillar supporting Izuku. The difference is that we watch Inko arrive at this conclusion in the span of one chapter while All Might and, uh, society, aren’t there yet. When Inko truly sees how much Izuku is driven to become a hero, and how much he NEEDS something she can’t give, she starts to back down. Unlike Endeavor, she knows her son’s future is not about her.
Tumblr media
Izuku wants this so much he won’t stay with Inko and will “go wherever”.... and it’s almost like All Might will follow to help Izuku be that hero...
3. Speaking of, allowing Izuku to move out at 15 and having All Might “raise” him is an incredible sacrifice on Inko’s part. She’s unexpectedly “retiring” as an active day-to-day parent and letting go of the one thing she spent her life building and protecting. Trusting your life’s work in someone else’s hands is really, really hard, but she does it. (Can All Might?)
Tumblr media
After the Overhaul arc, we see Inko acknowledging the progress Izuku has made, which includes All Might by extension (because she’s clearly thinking about him too). Seeing how Izuku can grow without her, Inko is slowly getting comfortable with her decision to “retire.” (Can All Might?)
Tumblr media
4. Inko’s weight gain parallels All Might’s weight loss in that both characters neglect themselves to help others (parenting and hero-ing) and they PARTICULARLY ignore themselves when worrying about Izuku.
Tumblr media
5. Izuku, Inko, and All Might all seem to know when people need a little saving. Starting with Inko...when All Might flexes into his iconic muscle form and performs dogeza (and then poofs down to his true form), he’s not merely apologizing — he’s showing deference to Inko. She has power over All Might AND she’s not sold on the bloody reality of her son becoming a hero, even if she supports his dream. From here, she could block the next symbol of peace. She could take away the child All Might loves. She could extract whatever she wanted from the longtime #1 hero. Just think about what some other, less charitable characters might do.
Tumblr media
But Inko doesn’t take anything from All Might. Instead, Inko sees how much Izuku and All Might need each other (I mean, LOOK AT THEIR FACES when they think she’s saying no!!!). She moves to reassure All Might that Izuku needs him, that she doesn’t hate UA (even though she railed against the school minutes earlier), and that she doesn’t want an big, heroic sacrifice. Inko trusts he will help Izuku “walk a path” different from his bloody one. She just wants a happy child, and All Might is integral to that because these 2 boys are a bonded pair. Izuku lives for All Might and All Might lives for Izuku. All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall. Inko sees how deeply All Might respects and cares for Izuku, to the point that the next symbol of peace is secondary (unlike Endeavor, who is invested in Shoto carrying on his legacy above all else).
Tumblr media
Oh hey, 200 chapters later, it turns out All Might IS willing to follow Izuku anywhere, because he just can’t be apart from his boy. And, after Inko and All Might built mutual respect in Chapter 97, we see in Chapter 309 that All Might is not afraid to cry in front of Inko and show his real concern about Izuku. (He doesn’t cry in Chapter 97, but he readily lets the waterworks flow in Chapter 309.)
Now, we don’t see Inko’s reaction to All Might beyond the second panel below, but we know she previously decided to trust the boys despite her own fears. It’s not out of character for her to trust them again. In fact, it’s kinda sweet to see them both reassure her [while still clinging to their dumb plans, sigh]. Izuku makes clear he’s not intending to sacrifice his life, and All Might won’t let Izuku go alone. Of course, both of these promises will be...challenged...in chapters 310+, but the intent is there and that’s all Inko can ask for (I mean, that was all she originally asked of All Might in exchange for her consent — no sacrifice + “look after” Izuku.)
Tumblr media
Finally, note how All Might stands throughout the scene, projecting a large, protective presence because it’s his turn to give back. Izuku extends his hand to his mother; All Might extends his height above them both. For all of 309 he’s high above Inko and Izuku; in 97, he’s shown equal to or below Inko except the brief moment he looms over them just before kneeling to the floor.
6. Inko and All Might only interact twice in the manga, but both times are critical turning points between acts AND both times are shortly after encounters with villains — Shigaraki/AFO in particular. The first is in the immediate aftermath of Kamino and All Might’s retirement (literally, All Might retires at the beginning of Chapter 96 and he meets Inko at the end). The second Inko-All Might interaction is in the immediate aftermath of the war and jailbreak (Chapter 309). At a meta-level, Inko’s character page is at the end of Chapter 94, right after we see Izuku & Shigaraki with AFO saying “it’s your turn.”
Interestingly there are TWO earlier near-interactions in canon. The first is in the School Briefs light novel, taking place just after the internships/Stain arc and before final exams. TL;DR: There’s a Parents Day at UA that involves a villain kidnapping 1A’s parents (spoiler: it’s really a rational deception by Aizawa and the parents are in on it). But things go awry and Inko nearly falls into a fire pit for real. A playing-the-villain-but-actually-in-his-true-form All Might swoops in to save her, of course! Afterwards, Inko runs over to thank him, thinking she’s talking to a local theater actor. :)
Tumblr media
Lastly, in Chapter 70, right after Izuku runs into Shigaraki at the mall, Inko and All Might are both near Izuku at the police station. However, neither one speaks to or acknowledges the other, and the art doesn’t even show them together. The closest we get is the bottom right panel:
Tumblr media
Despite both All Might and Izuku knowing about these two near-meetings, neither one tells Inko. My head canon is that they do this to avoid embarrassing her — she’s obviously terrified when All Might visits her home, so All Might saying, “we’ve met but you didn’t know” would be impolite. Likewise, if she at all remembered All Might from the police station, she doesn’t say so. Kindness all around!
I don’t know if it’s likely, but I’m really hopeful that a “found family” with most (all?) of these characters will happen in the end (maybe with Shigaraki too??)....I enjoy them way too much!!

See that’s my biggest problem with the whole Endeavor aftermath, like no one has acknowledged his abuse or that he was an abuser. I get that they need all the hands that they can get right now, but I don’t know I guess it was expecting a bit too much for some form of acknowledgment or criticism of his crimes! Like ok we did have Hawks show a tiny bit of disappointment but that small reaction was kind of soured for me given that he made a small note of disappointment, and then suddenly he’s already made a flaming speech for the man. Plus the adults reaction to a Aoyama’s traitor reveal, who’s life and family’s life threatened makes it even more disappointing to me. Given that you know Aoyama was being blackmailed but Endeavor wasn’t being blackmailed when he decided to give his whole family ptsd!
I understand your concerns, but I tend to look at it this way
While, yes, it is troubling that Endeavor's abuse hasn't been addressed (kind of has been with family, just not on a societal or public level) because in most stories you usually do have the subject being addressed in one way or another - I think this is actually very interesting
Because in a way, is it not criticism of bnha's society? Is it not criticism of our own? Personally I can draw parallels to irl with how authority ignores a lot of celebrity crimes. Sometimes it's not only due to authority doing a crap job or being paid off by said celebrity, but just the status alone can turn the tables on a prison (or punishment) sentence
I say celebrity because you hear a lot about them committing crimes and then being left alone, but literally anybody with power can get away with so much (I just said celebrity because Heroes have been compared to them. The fact that they are also people with authority themselves makes it even worse, thus more likely to get away with more crimes)
Plus there's the whole We'll Need More Strength In The Coming War thing going on, which could be one reason why nobody has addressed it yet. Remember when Best Jeanist was revealed to be alive and he said this?
Tumblr media
It means Best Jeanist thinks Dabi chose this moment to reveal his name because faith in Heroes was already wavering, and he's right. Dabi did choose this arc to reveal himself because it's the best time to hammer home that Heroes shouldn't be trusted. I'm betting this isn't just Best Jeanist's line of thought, but a lot of other Heroes' too, since Villains love to take advantage of a dire situation
At the time, trust was already wavering in the Heroes, but now? That trust is incredibly shaky. And I can see society not criticising Endeavor being an attempt to keep what little trust is left intact with A Strong Figure Who Can Hold Us Up When Our Lives Are Threatened
In their eyes, it isn't "This man has done horrible things, lets condemn him as soon as possible", it's "He's done horrible things but our country is falling right now and we need someone to hold it up. Anyone. It needs to be a Hero. It needs to be someone strong and powerful, who can destroy the Villains and protect us when the going gets tough."
And who is regarded as the strongest? Endeavor. He's Number One after all, and even if he's only the strongest by Billboard Ranking, that's enough of an excuse for society to pile all the pressure onto him and focus on surviving
I'm afraid it's the whole There's No All Might Anymore So All We Have Left Is Endeavor, The Remaining Strongest situation again, mixed in with Bnha Society Is Messed Up
Of course it's not right that they are just letting this go. But at the moment, they may not see the abuse as the most important thing right now. These people are just focusing on surviving, that's all that is on their minds - when are the villains going to attack? will we live to see another day? will our army be enough? we can't afford to have low rank (therefore weaker) heroes fight for us, we need a figure to turn to
Especially now, when the second war is coming, they'll see it as more important that he stay and fight with them
That, and the fact that Hori either needs more direct conflict between Endeavor and Dabi for Shouto to budge in and help, or for Endeavor to say something about what Dabi went through (he could say something good or bad, maybe a mix of both, idk. maybe he's giving Endeavor a chance to say something before he gets a punishment)
Personally, I'm not looking for anybody to acknowledge what Endeavor has done right now, but I am looking forward to when the war is over. I mean, people can say all they want about the pressure of war/oncoming war, but when it's all over, what will happen then? I'll be looking forward to seeing if they address the abuse then or not at all. In that, I think, lies the answer to what will become of Endeavor
About Hawks
Listen, Hawks is a complex character. When we look at his past, how he used to idolise Endeavor, how the man "saved him" from his father, there will be a part of that he's hung onto as he's grown up. It's a part of the celebrity thing I was talking about earlier in this post - there are authority figures who will do whatever they can to not get sued or put in the limelight for punishing a beloved celebrity/person with power, and then there are the fans of those people - Hawks, in this case - who either look past the crime or shrug it off
I hate to say it, but I think this is the case
Either way, Hawks does have a bias around Endeavor and I think that's clear
AT THE SAME TIME, with Hawks as a character, there's a lot to be said about how he views betterment and forgiveness. Remember this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'm going to lend my full support to anyone trying to be better!"
Hawks does view Endeavor in a specific light, but this Support thing kinda feels like it's linked to himself as well. From what we know, Hawks hasn't necessarily helped anyone trying to be better (before Endeavor), but what about himself?
Tumblr media
Here, Keigo isn't saying "Oooh can I be a hero too?", he's saying "Can I, a person who has been told they are filthy and useless and bad, change? Can I be like the shining Heroes who are not bad, who help people too? Is there a redemption for me?"
Keigo never needed a redemption, he was just a boy who was abused and traumatized, but that's not how Hawks sees it. If he never got over the "I was filthy and useless and bad" thoughts, the words he internalized from his parents, then it's likely that he saw the HC taking him away as a redemption. He thinks he was saved, in the purest sense. In a way, he was. He did leave his horrible life behind, but walked into a new stricter arguably-more-horrible life
It's likely that when Hawks saw Endeavor being upset over his whole situation, he judged him and then decided to brush it off and help 1) because Endeavor is a pillar and his idol and 2) Hawks wants to help people just like he was helped. He thinks he was bad and wanted to do better in life, tried to be better (even tho he was already a good kid)
So, in a way, I feel like he's looking at Endeavor and basically going "oof, relatable. I understand that feeling, like you're the worst person in the world. I was like that, then was offered a chance and got the opportunity to better myself, so I know you can do that too! I'll help! I'll give you that opportunity!"
When we look at Hawks' mindset, it's understandable why he would think along these lines. But it definitely is questionable
With him, it's a great big mix of Endeavor Is My Idol He Is Amazing, Childhood Trauma/Insecurities and Projecting
At least, that's what I think it is
The Adults Reaction To Aoyama
Yeah, compared to Endeavor, Aoyama's getting the worse treatment
Though I would argue that some of that is down to safety rather than punishing someone. With Tsukauchi and the bindings/muzzle, there's an element of not knowing what AFO can do
It is a little sus that Tsukauchi only put the muzzle on after Aoyama talked (even tho he literally said "we can't allow him to talk because some freaky afo shit might happen"), but still. I wonder if it's down to not knowing what AFO has up his sleeve and making sure that everything is thought of
Idk what AFO could do with Aoyama talking, but what comes to mind is Ujiko and the black transport-y goo or whatever. They could take him away and then the Heroes' lead (and only advantage besides fighting) would be gone
Another is the binding around his middle
Tumblr media
Where Aoyama's quirk is. This would be done in order to stop him from attacking etc
I mean, it's still uncomfortable to watch happen, but I can see these just being safety measures (the trauma isn't, but the choice to bind him may be)
As for the whole "jail" thing, I don't know why people keep saying that. Did Atsushi say that's where he is? Because nowhere in 340 does it say he's in jail, and it's not really clear either
Tumblr media
My reasoning is that, after All Might says his thing, the next panel focuses on a different part of Central Hospital, which leads us to Aoyama and Aizawa. Plus, the fact that there is a doctor there tells you it's different
I don't think he's in jail. If anything, he's either in a containment center or in a hospital cell of some sort. Which, well, I'm not sure whether that's better, but he's not in jail
This is where I draw the line though, because this is them treating Aoyama badly. The doctor establishes that there seems to be nothing wrong with him, yet he's put behind a wall and window, like one would do to a prisoner
If anything, if they wanted to make sure AFO wouldn't pull anything else (like if there was still some risk of Aoyama being controlled) then they would remove the wall and window and just have Aizawa and Aoyama in a room, sat down, at a considerable distance away from each other
I guess that's what the wall is there for? Just in case?
Idk but, despite me trying to explain what I think of the conditions Aoyama was put in, it doesn't mean I'm not uncomfortable
The whole situation is horrible and makes me uneasy, but with some things I can see there being a real safety reason behind, others I'm more skeptical of
Doesn't mean Aoyama isn't without trauma of this whole situation
It's a muddled situation imo. On one hand I know there's some reasons to Aoyama being treated like this, on the other, I wish he was treated better
One thing is certain though; he's lacking support in the fact that nobody has told him that this wasn't his fault. He was a kid who fell into a horrible situation, AFO gained control of his family and he was forced to be a traitor, something he didn't want to be
Now, compared to Endeavor, who has a lot of support, it's very unfair. Thing is, the abuse was his fault too, and there is an element of that which is addressed, but most of it is on how "the family as a whole is at fault" which... isn't true. Rei had her problems, Enji had his too, but the rest? They were just kids, not at fault at all
On the whole, there's a lot to take into account, but it's still unfair and there are still things that need to be addressed
Please remember, more than anything, that the story isn't over yet and there is still time to explain and/or build on these issues
