Once upon a time
A/N welcome to day three (almost day four. Nothing like procrastinating) of Kitten's valentines day event. Here is a request by anon for a cinderella au with those horrid red crocs. I tried blending seriousness with a touch of comedy (God knows I specialise in angst) hopefully it comes off well. Bone apple teeth.
The ball to find your prince was tonight. A long awaited night as you brush your hair staring into the vanity. Lips and cheeks painted with light pinks with a blush dress to match. The dress acting as a preview for what is to come, a mock wedding dress if you will. Elegantly and obnoxiously long train, paired with the classic princess ball gown that flairs at your waist.
Heart pounding in your chest you stand waiting in your glass slippers, hair braided and pinned half up and half down to frame your face as it trundles down to your delicate shoulders.
"And now for our lady of the night, Princess Y/N!" A quick gulp before you step through the opening doors, smiling brightly at the throngs of men who have attended all wearing masks of blinding colors in hopes to be seen.
To be remembered.
Your night is spent mostly whisked around in nauseating circles handed off from man to man. You go from two toned hair, to a blabbering bright blonde, passed off to a jaded eyed man before you're head is spinning.
The jade eyed man is, how can you put it nicely?
Well you can't he's boring. An utterly ball of nerves boring. His hands are slick with sweat and he can barely hold eye contact to save his life as he says sorry every step of the dance despite not making a single error.
"May I?" A smooth voice inturrpts the emerald eyes apologies. You drink in the handsome man in stunning deep red that makes his gem eyes pop. Finaly excited for the first time tonight.
"Y...you may." He stammers passing your hand to a calloused hard working hand. A feeling you are unused to as most of the other men's hands were smooth. His other hand finds the small of your back as he sweeps you into a pleasantly slow paced dance.
"Your name my dear?" The first you've asked for this whole night. He smiles a sharp toothed smile as his velvet voice caresses your before agitated nerves.
"Ejirou." A shiver runs down your spine as you fixate on this stunning broad shouldered man.
Another turn before you notice that he has swept the two of you onto one of the many balconies just off of the hall.
"Ah look at the moon over head Eijirou!" He hates to admit that he loves the sound of his name on your lips. He bites his own trying and failing to remind himself that he does not truly belong here.
But a night with a beautiful princess is all he ever wished for.
You brace yourself agaisnt the railing as you stare into the face of your favorite celestial body. All the while ruby eyes watch your dainty form.
"Isn't it beautiful?" You sigh melting as you swoon over your first love. Eijirou places his hand on the balcony around you, pressing his hip to yours.
"No where near as beautiful as you." He breaths, leaning down to kiss feather soft lips. Rough hand pulling a slender waist impossibly closer as he deepens the kiss.
Bells chime overhead causing him to gasp out.
"Its midnight." He sounds panicked as he tries to take a step back. Eyes frantically looking for the exit.
"Why yes," You blink confused, hand clutching his blood red lapel, "But the party is until sunrise."
"I've got to go. Now. I'm sorry." He says as he rushes away while you're right on his heels.
Although he is much faster and much more hardy than you. You stop to catch your breath as he rushes down the endless stairs in front of the castle.
"Eijirou how will I find you?" He stops short at your request turning ever so slightly, disappointment and sadness well in his eyes as he answers.
"You can't." Another chime rings out sending him into a full on sprint as one of his blood red dress shoes fall wayward on the long stair case. You rush to clutch onto the shoe another chime rings out and by some magic the deep crimson dress shoe distorts into something horrifyingly grotesque.
A birght red slipper with holes and a band that would sit atop the heel or the top of the foot depending if one wanted it to be in "sport" mode or not.
You scrunch your nose especially after seeing little charms of different shapes and sizes ranging anywhere from a fire truck to the classic cartoon meat bone.
"What the fuck?" You murmur to yourself as you look over the odd shoe, debating if it would be worth it to attempt to find the handsome man with terrible taste in footwear.
A flash of ruby red burns hot in your memory as you stand calling off the rest of the ball to summon your best scouts.
"We will go over the entire land to see who fits this shoe!"
True to your word you spend countless weeks that bleed into months exhausting all resources to find your prince charming.
Men across the nation line up outside of their homes in hopes of fitting the red shoe. Some men spy the shoe and turn inside, while others step out in a clearly immitated bright red holed filled slipper.
Still your search is fruitless as you begin to run out of both men and houses to check. You stand in front of your last house for the day as two men rush from the door as a window shutter is slammed shut overhead.
"Princess!" They sing song in unison, "We brothers are the owner of the shoe!"
Your eyes rove over a bright blonde male and a short purple haired boy whose eyes pop from their sockets as they stare at your form. Even as you're wearing pants.
"Hmmm, my prince to be had red hair." You state, "Men we are mistaken let us leave at once."
"W..wait your highness, you have not even tried to place it on our feet yet! At least give us that much." They beg as you pinch the bridge of your nose.
"Fine." With a snap of your fingers the horrific item is presented to you atop a velvet black pillow. You grab onto the item and place it to where a foot can be slipped in.
The blonde tries first, his toes poking out through some of the holes, popping out a fire truck charm as he attempts to shove his foot in.
Immediately you withdraw to present the shoe to the small boy. His foot barely fills the slipper causing a great sigh to leave your lips.
Tears threaten to spill over as you think that you may never find your one true love. You place the slipper back onto its pillow before you begin to climb the stairs to your carriage.
"Princess wait!" That velvet voice you had grown to love shouts as your frantically look for the source. He comes out in tattered clothes, soap suds clinging to his elbows as stains litter the cloth.
All the while the other two men are dressed in finary that could rival your own.
You look down to see he is wearing what must be the other slipper. As more of those ghastly charms twinkle in the dying light of the sun.
"Ah this is just our step brother. Please pay him no mind." The blonde says before elbowing him harshly, "Get back into the house you idiot!"
He clutches the scrub brush in his hands, ruby eyes glancing between you and his evil step brothers. He turns on his heel only for you to shout, fearing you may lose the man of your dreams again.
"No, he will be sized by the shoe. Should it fit he is mine to wed." The slipper is brought back to you once more, delicate hands wrap around the bright material as the red head presents his foot to you.
The God awful footwear fits and tears of joy stream down your face.
"E...Eijirou is it really you?" He nods shyly, embarrassed that he is in essentially a potato sack compared to what he wore the night he met you.
It was all with the help of an angry godfather who loomed in the courtyard the night of your ball.
"So you're just gonna let these assholes tell you you can't go?!" The Godfather had yelled, fingers popping with magic.
"Don't be a bitch." He bites out, turning a rotting carcass into a stunning white horse, "You're going and that's final."
Popping hands burning through Eijirou's tattered rags. Just a Phoenix something new rises from the ash. A beautifully tailored suit adorned with a bright red mask glimmering in the night like sparkling rubies.
"But you have until midnight to get the hell out of there." The GodFather snarls, "What are you waiting for a fucking invitation? Go kiss the damn girl! Just remember I said midnight and don't fuck this up."
He had left after that in an oversized explosion leaving nothing behind but the smell of sweet burning caramel.
Eijirou silently thanked the Godfather as he spun his princess around, cheeks burning from smiling so hard and feet sheathed in firetruck red crocs.
And they lived happily ever after.

TODODEKU CINDERELLA AU
I was looking for some tododeku Cinderella au, but like.... there isn’t a lot, so I raise you,
Shouto is Cinderella. Mostly people put Izuku as Cinderella, but hear me out
No need for evil stepmother. Todoroki Enji is the scum of earth war general who hates all his children and Shouto the most since he’s the most disrespectful
He doesn’t take Shouto anywhere public since He will say something bad about Enji.
. “might as well do work around the house and train be my punching bag while You stay locked in the house
Enji hates the king Toshinori. they were both knights, and the previous King was childless and named Toshinori as his heir.
as for Izuku
Toshinori married Inko, a peasant woman or named Izuku his heir.
Bakugo still bullied Izuku when they were little and you can bet your ass his attitude is still bad after Izuku became Prince out of nowhere.
Hanging out with Kiri helps though, so that’s nice. Also Kiri and Izuku are friends due to pure sunshine energy and Bakugo doesn’t want to make his boyfriend sad.
Back to Cinderoki, His siblings are the mice because a) none of them would hurt Shouto like the stepsisters and b) Enji is bad enough for three people anyway.
He does take them with him though.
Shouto wanted to go to the ball because he Doesn’t get to go outside and He needs to defy Enji like he needs Oxygen. Shouto has literally no interest in the prince. Or anyone else.
None whatsoever
Even if the green haired guy he met is really adorable.
The ball is a masquerade and happens for three days because I said so.
Cinderoki’s Fairy Godmother has and uncanny resemblance to his supposedly dead Older brother other than having half of his face burned off. Yes. I am doing that.
He also has no magic, but some good friends who help him find clothes, and to get a wig.
The first night of the ball Shouto hears Izuku say something good about Enji and challenges the Prince to a...... IDK spar? (he doesn’t know He’s the prince yet shhhhh)
They don’t have powers to say they are theirs, but they do talk and Shouto maybe, probably decides he likes the boy he met and sparred against at the courtyard..
he has to leave because his father leaves at midnight . what a dick.
Anyway, “fairy godmother” and his friends do all of Shouto’s work so endeavor has no reason to suspect anything.
The second night of the ball, Izuku just nyooms to Shouto and they escape to Talk The Night Away. Untill midnight that is
Both our boys are catching feelings but “he’s not interested in the Prince” “Why would he be interested in me He’s perfect”
Unfortunately Fuyumi recognizes him, but She’s a good sis so doesn’t tell Enji. But they do talk the next day and She agrees to keep his secret because “Please Fuyumi, Tonight’s the last time I’m going to see him don’t take that away from me”
“I didn’t realize you had feelings for the prince” “I have Feelings for who now?”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CHALLENGED THE PRINCE TO A DUEL???” “I DIDN’T KNOW HE IS THE PRINCE! HE SAID SOMETHING GOOD ABOUT DAD WITHOUT KNOWING HIM!’”
Fuyumi’s not that good an actor though, so Enji suspects something, but not enough.
Shouto confronts him about the prince thing and Izuku surprisingly manages not to cry..... yet
“you said before you had no interest in the prince! so I thought you didn’t like me as the prince! And I really wanted you to like me because I love you!” cue the waterworks.
They were kissing when the bell rang. Shouto’s Wig came of when he ran. Izuku just stood there, because he knew Shouto was hiding from his father who’s name he mentioned not, but a wig? well his hair is really recognizable, add to that his mismatched eyes and he would be really recognizable, and he said his father is abusive so it makes somewhat sense.... and other mutterings
so instead of the fucking shoe, the prince set out looking for the half red half white hair.
Enji meanwhile caught a glimpse of Shouto when he left, and by Shouto I mean his hair cause everyone saw that boy running but only Enji realized that It was Shouto.
Shouto gets the mother of all beatings when he gets home (sorry bb)
The Todoroki house wasn’t the last because it was in a corner of the kingdom, it was last because no one suspected the War general.
Shouto was locked in the attic when Izuku got there. but when he was leaving, he threw something of Enji he found out the window in frustration. It hit one of the Prince’s solders coughbakugocough on the head
“general Enji, are all your children *side eyeing scared Fuyumi and Natsuo* here on the porch ?
“of course”
“Then where THE FUCK DID THIS COME FROM TO HIT ME HUH????”
Cue Endeavor sweating, because as much as he hates Toshinori, the man is still the king, and he hates child abuse. “There is nothing you need to worry about”
*hand chopping motions* “General there might be some one in the attic! we should check”
And that kids, Is how General Enji got thrown into jail, and Shouto got his freedom.
The wedding was huge, Inko loves Shouto, They find that Rei was wrongfully banished and bring her back
ya’ll get the gist

Oh oh oh what about a fairytale AU with Shigaraki O.o
Maid!Shigaraki who gets to join the royal masked dance and have a chance to woo the prince/princess with the help of little faries (Cinderella like)? The alpha ends up finding him again through his scent maybe? Like instead of loosing his shoe, Shigaraki looses a tissue drenched in his scent (maybe not on accident 👀)
Which part of this (the dancing, the finding or whatever) you wanna write is up to you :)) headcanons are fine too <3
I also love these little themed requests🥺 they are so much fun to read and always make my day so much better ❤️❤️
(That's so lovely of you to say!! I'm honoured to make your day better!!! <333)
Okay, so a Cinderella plot with Shigaraki as the main role? I can do that!
Shigaraki actually enjoys the night so, so much.
Fairies made him the most beautiful outfit, and he has a mask to cover his face and his skin from view.... People are staring at him with envy for the first time in his life and it feels exhilarating.
He feels so alive! So confident, like he could do anything and get away with it like this.
So he confidently goes up to talk to the crown royal.
He's not thinking that anything is going to happen. I mean, he's pretty sure they just let commoners in for good PR, the royal would never choose a servant like him, but he just wants to talk to them! Him! Talking to a royal!
And he's nowhere near as polite as he should be. The mask just removes his filter.
He makes a dark joke about the ball, he indirectly insults the royal's outfit and directly states that he's only here for the food. He's having a great time, but he doesn't realise how smitten he already has the royal.
It's been hours upon hours of the same thing for them. Omegas throwing themselves at them, talking about how much their family has done for the crown, subtly mentioning fertility rates in their bloodline... And then this omega they've never seen before comes sauntering in with no filter, and it's the most interesting conversation they've had in years.
"I know you said you only came for the food," they grin, taking one of Shigaraki's gloved hands in theirs. "But surely one dance wouldn't hurt?"
Shigaraki is stunned and nods simply because he doesn't know what to say.
The royal hadn't danced with anyone yet. He was the first one they picked.
Shigaraki doesn't really know how to dance, but the royal just tightens their grip and leads him through it.
Every eye in the room is on them. The royal and the first omega they danced with tonight.
Shigaraki is panicking but he's so close to them now that he can smell their scent, and it's the nicest thing he's ever smelt. He gets woozy just smelling the small amount they royal is releasing.
His heart is pounding and then the royal lifts up a hand towards his mask, attempting to lift it to kiss him, and Shigaraki panics.
He rears back, knocking into someone else. Gasps echo around the hall and the royal looks stunned.
Shigaraki can't let them see under his mask. They'll never like him then, and even if this was only for one night, he wants the pleasant memories, not the memory of being rejected.
And then the clock strikes midnight, making everything worse.
Shigaraki realises he's been dancing for the best part of half an hour and not even noticed it.
He turns and he runs, ignoring the royal's calls for him to wait.
He has to leave. Everything that had been granted to him by magic is about to disappear and he has to go.
But he'll never forget how much fun he had this night, how special he felt for the first time.
In his haste, he drops his handkerchief.
Not on purpose, no, he knows if the royal ever finds out who he is, they'll reject him, so he didn't want to leave a trace... But he drops it by accident and the royal picks it up.
And they know they aren't going to give up on finding this omega, no matter how long it takes.
That night was the most fun they've had in a long time, and the most chemistry they've ever felt with another person.
They'd be a fool to give up on the mysterious man.
No. They were going to find him.

Cinderella AU, DKBK/BKDK
AU where Mitsuki marries Endeavor after Masaru’s death, but falls sick and dies as well, leaving Katsuki alone with a step father who doesn’t love him, and step siblings who despise him for his mother taking the place of Rei in their father’s heart. He quickly becomes the house’s live in maid and personal punching bag for the Todoroki children--especially Touya and Natsuo
Katsuki dreams of going to school at UA and becoming a hero, but his step- father is against it. Cue Shouto going behind his father’s back and helping Katsuki pass the entrance exams, and sneak him into UA under his father’s nose. There, Kat runs into Izuku and something starts blossoming between them, although Katsuki insists the nerd is just annoying.
Everything comes to a head when the sports festival arrives, and, determined to win, Katsuki is helped once again by Shouto to disguise himself and fight his way to the top. He wins, but before he can accept his medal, his identity is compromised, and he’s forced to run, leaving a piece of his disguise behind in the attempt to get away.
Thus, Izuku searching all over the place for him, until at last he finds Katsuki, locked away in the Todoroki house.
Bonus points:
Izuku and Katsuki were childhood friends, but after Mitsuki and Endeavor married they lost each other, and Izuku never did find out what quirk “Kacchan” would have.
Katsuki enters UA under his legal name, but gets the school to use a different name for him, so nobody knows he’s Katsuki Bakugou, Endeavor’s ward.
Katsuki’s sports festival disguise is inspired by old drawings he did as a kid of his hero costume, which Izuku vaguely recognizes. So, he goes searching not only for this student he likes, but to find his old friend.
Fuyumi and Shouto work together to be the ultimate fairy godmother.
While Izuku uses a piece of Katsuki’s disguise to find him, Endeavor destroys it before they can try it on him. In the end, it’s actually the little acceptance holograms they receive that Kat uses to prove to Izuku it’s him.
Katsuki either fights Izuku to win the sports festival, or he fights Shouto and Izuku watches, swooning, from the stands.
further AU where Izuku is All Might’s son and therefore sort of a prince like figure as the son of the no. 1 hero.
Hatsume helps with Katsuki’s disguise

my first sketch of hawks and what a cinderella-esque dress would look like for her, and i was really in love with the idea of a red shawl or stole that looekd kinda like wings as it draped, and also having elements of the dress that could really move or feather out as she moves, to kinda mimic hawks canonical quirk
and dabis outfit was based off of me messing with the princes outfit in the animated disney movie and also a suggestion from my friend to have dabi wearing a cape and there mightve also be a bit of inspo from thraundil
and some redraws of the ballroom scene from the 2015 movie because once again, i love this movie and i love this scene in particular

Glass Slipper Malfunctions
"(Y/n), if you swirl that cup any faster, there'll be no punch left." Toga flicked my forehead. We were on the second floor of Dabi's house. His father was out of town, and he decided to go all out for Halloween. Smoke machines led lights, streamers, and even some graffiti over the fireplace, no corner was lacking a spooky decoration.
"I'm sorry, I just wish Shinso hadn't bailed", I admitted, downing what was left in the solo cup. Music was blaring all across the house, but I could tell she heard me when her smile faltered.
"You don't need him (Y/n), he's holding you back from having fun. He's always so serious and grumpy." Her costume was a bloody nurse, with rips in tears in all the right places. Leaning into me, she used her stethoscope to listen to my chest, tapping the instrument to the rhythm. "Yup, your heart's working just fine. Don't look so upset, come on, let's dance."
"Toga, don't pull so hard." I dragged my heels behind her, barely keeping up with her pace. Knocking people out of our way, she took the stairs two at a time.
We had been dancing for the last two hours, and I was already low on stamina and bloated from the punch. While running, I tossed my cup into the overflowing trash, missing it by a good few feet. As if my luck could get any worse, the liquid soaked into the floor. Dabi was okay ruining his family home, but I wasn't.
"If you don't smile, I'm going to do something drastic." Toga spun me around and dipped me as the music dropped. Alcohol, sweat, and a faint hint of blood filled the air, making my stomach begin to churn even more.
"I feel kind of woozy," I clutched to her shoulder, but she continued to swirl around the room and rock us back and forth.
"Everybody, gather round! Midnight is almost upon! I'm glad you-" Dabi got everyone's attention, drawing in a crowd around him.
"Come on, you're not being very fun." Toga ignored Dabi, and we moved to the back of the crowd. Still moving to the music, she let me go mild spin. I fell back, my heel snapped as I tried to catch myself. My dress caught on my other shot, ripping the strap holding it up. Landing on my ass, I pushed the hair from my face. My ribbon was lost in the crowd. In a moment of realization, I covered my chest, trying to get to my feet. With my dress pulled back up, no one had seen my trip; I just needed to get fixed back up.
"Toga, I-"She was gone. Clutching my thin paper costume between my hands, I kicked off my shoes, darting through the crowd to the bathroom. I had never been so thankful for a speech, fog machine, and laser lights in my entire life.
Making it to the bathroom, I locked the door and looked in the mirror. My makeup had slid out of place, my hair was a tangled mess from the bun I initially had it in. The 'glass', slippers were now scuffed, and one heel was missing. My dress straps had broke beyond repair, and I was in desperate need of a backup costume.
Sitting on the toilet, I pulled out my phone, zoning in on my lock screen. It was Shinso holding up his kitten. I could see his head just poking into the frame. His dazzling smile causing one to spread on my own face. I don't know how I got to be in this bathroom to start with.
Everything had been planned down to a T. Shinso, and I would dress as Cinderella and Lucifer for the party. We'd get in the horse-drawn carriage I rented, at eight, and then arrive at the party by eight-thirty. Shinso would find a nice corner to sit and read, while I danced the night away looking for my Princess Charming. Toga and I would drink it up and bask in the full moon. At the end of the party, Shinso would be our D.D and take us home in Toga's car. It was simple enough. Thinking back, I didn't really take into consideration how Shinso felt about it. Well, I kind of knew how he would felt about being Lucifer instead of Prince Charming, but I thought he'd be okay with it. Then there was the other issue...
It wasn't a secrete he didn't like my new friend Toga. He tried to keep that opinion to himself, but it all spilled out last week. I knew changing our Halloween ritual from watching movies to a party with strangers would upset him. I just thought he'd go along with it for me. Or maybe I hoped he'd go along with it. I wanted to respect his boundaries, but he and Toga were so jealous of each other that it was hard to see either of them.
If there was one thing that clear now, Toga was willing to leave me for the wolfs. Pulling up Shinso's contact, I knew I was going to need to grovel a little. He was already waiting to be my D.D, but I needed a little something else now.
Y/n: Heyyyy, I need some help.
Fuzz Ball: Are you okay? I'm on my way
Y/n: I'm fine. My costume broke and I'm stuck in the bathroom.
Fuzz Ball: Can't Toga help you?
Y/n: She sort of, ran off and I'm… I don't know. I'm confused, I can't go back out there like this and I feel really guilty about ditching you.
Fuzz Ball: You are allowed to hang with your other friends without feeling guilty,
Y/n: I know, but I hate that you two don't like each other. I shouldn't have invited you and upset you.
Fuzz Ball: I'm not upset, I was sad. But I agree to be D.D, I shouldn't have back out last minute.
Fuzz Ball: I'll be there, I have a plan.
Y/n: What did I do to deserve you?
Fuzz Ball: You offered to do my history assignment in exchange for me doing your math.
Y/n: Right, seems like a fair trade. Also, don't you dare text and drive.
Fuzz Ball: I'm using the text to speech feature, I'm almost there.
Y/n: Someone's knocking on the door, ahhh. I'm on the first floor and to the right. There's a little hallway, and that's where the bathroom is.
Sinking back onto the commode, I relaxed my shoulders. Shinso was on his way to rescue me. I guess between my two friends, Shinso was the loyal one. Toga did seem flighty, but tonight was ridiculous. She had to see me fall and just walk away...that was an issue for another time.
At least I got all the dancing and drinking done that I wanted too. It was time to go home and convince Shinso to put on some scary movies and call it even.
There was a steady knock on the door, a familiar pattern that Shinso always used when sneaking to my window late a night. I flung the door open, and he dove into the room, carrying an orange trash bag filled with something. His black cat ears were perched on his head, a long fluffy tail wrapped around his waist. So much for us matching now.
"I love you, man," I hugged him tight, unsteady on my feet. He steadied me, and returned my bear hug.
"Thank me later, let's get out of here. There's so much weed in the air, I won't be able to pass a breathalyzer if we don't haul ass." He handed me the bag and pulled flip flops from his back pocket.
"You're telling me. I sobered up after tripping, but it's been a wild night., Anyway, I'm really eternally grateful- Shinso, why are there leaves in this trash bag?"
"It is a costume party, right? I thought you'd want to blend in." He wiggled his brow, the obscene cat makeup adding to his smug idea.
"I take back what I said about loving you." Laughing, I ripped two holes in the bottom of the bag and stepped in. Getting it to my neck, Shinso tied it, and I poked my arms out, the leaves itching my skin. "It works.
"You look cute." He smoothed my hair before opening the door. A line had formed, and we received death glares from the party-goers that were making some assumptions. "Let's get out of here."
"Well, I guess the carriage does turn back into a pumpkin at the end of the night, it's fitting." I sighed; the party was still in full swing. Shinso didn't let go of my hand as he parted the sea of people. My legs crunching the leaves as we walked. No doubt, I was leaving a leaf sprinkle trail in my wake.
"Is that a costume change I see?" Toga caught the other end of my hand. Her friend Twice was right behind her, carrying their drinks.
"I'm glad I ran into you. I'm headed home early. Can you find a D.D?" I asked her, the music-making my ears throb. Through the changing lights, I saw her grip her chin before smiling.
"I can just crash here. And be careful with Mr. Grumpy pants." She leaned around me to lock eyes with Shinso. "Aww, is the kitty cat upset?" She clawed at the air before turning tail to move along.
"She took it better than I thought." He sighed, finally reaching the door.
The cold air wrapped around my legs, sending a chill up my spine. The moon illuminated the street, and all the children had returned home to get a sugar high before bed. If music wasn't spilling out of the house, like a heartbeat in my ears. Shinso's car was in the middle of the street, emergency lights flashing, and the door still agape.
"You really rushed in like my knight in shining armor." Getting in the passenger side, I hugged my bag close as Shinso shut the door. He walked around the front and got in, turning off the emergency lights.
"Why can't I be your Prince Charming?" He took off down the road to my rental house. I hadn't been living on my own for long, but he already knew the road by heart. Even I still had to use my GPS. "Cat got your tongue?"
"No, yet." I giggled, focusing on his lips. Swallowing hard, tension began to build between us. We both an impeccable communication skills, but there was something neither one of us was willing to outright say.
"Is someone being a bad pumpkin tonight?" He shook the bag, and I smacked his hand away. His smile was enough to make my heart race.
"Yea, I guess I am a bad pumpkin." I leaned into my knees, trusting Shinso not to break so fast I bump my head.
"You can cry if you need too. Teasing you is one of my favorite past times, but I know you're upset."
"I know you like me." I pushed my hair back. "And the reason I didn't let you dress as Prince Charming is… I don't know. When I was at that party, I just kept thinking about us watching horror movies and eating way too much caramel popcorn. How we'd fall asleep next to year other and wake up for a mid-afternoon bike ride through the town before everyone takes down their decorations. And we can still do one half of that tradition if I avoid a hanger over."
"You didn't want me to be your prince charming because we have basically been dating the past two years, without ever getting into the physical side?" He pulled onto a back road and stopped at a spot that had the perfect view of the moon.
"I knew what you were hinting at when you asked to be Prince Charming. But I was afraid I didn't understand your hint, and then I was afraid someone would ask if we were dating and if you said no… I'd be sad. And it was a mess." I fiddled with the drawstring on the bag, not looking at him.
"I'll just say it. I like you, I like spending time with you. We've been friends for half of our lives, but I know we've had something special going on for a while now. I was afraid to ruin what we had, but I can't play it safe anymore. (Y/n) please look at me." I raised my eyes, his hand cupping my chin. "There's a few more hours left before the sun comes up. How about we go home, watch some movies and make out?" My skin heated up, blood rushing to my brain to keep it in operation.
"Bold of you to assume I don't want a kiss right now." I shifted to face him, a leaf ticking my side.
"I'm sorry, your majesty." He leaned forward, our lips latching onto each other like magnets. A wolf hollowed in the distance, and a cloud pasted at just the right time to illuminate the car. I took fistfuls of his black shirt and held him close. It was slow at first, but it heated up as I inched over the car console. We separated for breath, and I settled into my seat.
"Don't be sorry." I giggled, sitting back in my seat and wiping the black lipstick from my mouth. "Why'd we wait so long?"
"I don't know. But I regret it." He reversed from our spot on the hill and got back on the main road. "Let's get home and makeup time."
"So in the end, the winning combination is a broken plastic shoe, Lucifer, and a magic pumpkin. You know, Prince Charming and Cinderella are so mainstream. This was the better outcome, anyway." I kicked my swollen feet on his dash. "But I could get used to 'Your Majesty"; it has a nice ring to it." I tickled under Hitoshi's chin, his stubble pricking my fingers.
"Out of everything I just said, that's what you're holding on to?" He pulled into my house.
"Yup." I popped the p, and got out. "Race to the couch, let's start with Coraline."
"As you wish." He shook his head, chasing after me anyway. It wasn't what I planned for, but I was happy. I guess having my costume break was the best possible outcome for the night. We curled up on the couch, and a sense of peace washed over me. Nothing had ever felt so right.

So for my first request, can you write a one shot of Toshinko in a Cinderella AU please? What do you think?
Okay I’m not proud of how long this took me to get back to, HOWEVER, I am pleased with the result. I might have gone overboard.
NEVER THE LESS.
Here’s all 4.7k words of this fluffy, Cinderella Inko tale! Please enjoy~It’s a long one. You have been warned.
Inko’s Fairytale Moment (An Inko x Toshinori Cinderella fic)
Inko felt the longing in her heart. She watched her friends load into a horse-drawn carriage, hiking their dresses up to their knees to keep the mud at bay. Rei and Mitsuki looked absolutely stunning in their ball gowns. They were going to knock the prince speechless, she could tell.
After very little time at all, Inko had to turn away. She closed the drapes and wished them well from the confines of her bedroom, then sighed a deep sigh at herself. What she wouldn’t give to go to the ball. It was all the worse because she was, in fact, invited. Mitsuki and Rei had begged for her to go. But she couldn’t. Not… as she was.
She wasn’t like her friends, all dainty and slight. Time had dealt her body and her confidence a heavy blow. She was in her forties with a child who had flown the nest long ago. Her skin was tired and her stomach was flabby. It wouldn’t be right to go to the ball as she was, especially when the prince himself was trying to choose a bride. No man of royal blood would ever choose a woman like her and she couldn’t bear the humiliation or the glances or the mutters of other women should she attend, even if just for fun.
She skulked around the house, cleaning to pass the time but it dragged on so very slowly. Even after doing the dishes and mopping the kitchen floors when she looked at the clock it was still too early for the ball to have officially begun. She sighed again. Maybe she would simply go to bed and wait for morning to come.
She climbed the stairs to her room in the top most corner of the house but when she opened the door there was another woman sat on her bed. She shrieked, slamming the door closed in case the woman lunged but instead all she heard was laughter.
“Ms Inko, what are you doing? Come in here. I won’t bite.”
Against her better judgement, Inko opened the door. The woman was on her feet this time, with flowing blonde hair and a racy cream and purple dress that could make any head turn.
“You’re late,” the woman chided, ushering Inko into the room before she could turn tail and flee.
“L-late?” She questioned. “For what?”
“For what?” The woman repeated as if Inko had asked the daftest of things. “For your fitting. Your dress. The ball.”
“Oh.” Inko said, feeling her heart sink. “But I’m not going.”
“Oh yes you are. There’s no doubt about it.” The woman pushed Inko until she was in front of a tall mirror and forced her to look herself over. “Your friends are there. They’re having a good time so why can’t you?”
Inko frowned, wondering just who on earth this strange woman was.
“How do you know so much about this?”
The woman scoffed, stepping back to formally introduce herself.
“Why, because I’m your personal Fairy God Mother. You can call me Takeyama, and bibbity-bobbity-bitch I’m here to turn you into a fabulous queen for the evening. Now get your dancing shoes because I need to know what I’m working with to coordinate your dress.”
She pulled a thin rod from out her cleavage then posed like she was ready to conduct an orchestra. Inko stepped back in alarm.
“Wait. Wait,” she begged, holding her arms up. “Please. I don’t want to go. I can’t. Not when I look like this.” She gestured to herself as a whole.
“I… don’t see your point.” Takeyama frowned, wondering if Inko meant her dress sense. True, she was wearing housewife 101 but a quick flick of the wand would fix that.
Inko hated that she had to say it out loud. She was insecure and shy, and voicing her concerns only made them that much realer.
“My size. My shape. I’m not fit to go to a ball. People would stare. Heaven forbid, what if the prince saw me? I could never. Maybe once upon a time but not now. Please just let me be and let me sleep.”
The desperation in her voice struck a chord in Takeyama’s Fairy God Mother soul. There was nothing wrong with Inko or how she looked, but if this was a case of confidence then, perhaps just for tonight, Takeyama could give her ward the means to love herself.
“Alright, Inko. You can go to sleep. I’ll leave you be. Just do me one small favour.” She flicked her wrist so slightly that it was impossible to see, jolting the wand a breadth. “Look once more in that mirror for me.”
In the hopes that Takeyama would leave, Inko did as she was told. But when she caught sight of herself in the mirror she couldn’t believe what she could see.
“I—I’m—” Gone were her tired eyes and loose skin, her mum-tum and the body that came from a woman who loved her offspring unconditionally. She was a wisp of herself, as bright as a button and simply radiating with confidence once she realised it really was her. “What’s happened to me?”
Takeyama felt proud by Inko’s reaction. She flicked the wand again, adding makeup, hair-up and a salmon pink ball gown to boot. When Inko caught sight of herself for a second time she started to cry.
“Get it out of your system now,” Takeyama cooed, coming to hug the trembling woman. “I can fix your makeup in a jiffy while you’re here but you’re on your own at the ball.”
“You did—you did—you did all this— so I—I—could—I could go to the ball?” Inko could hardly get her words out, tears streaming down her face as her heart swelled with happiness. All she wanted was to spend the night with her friends, dancing the time away without the fear of being judged. “I can’t thank you enough.”
“Just spend your time wisely, my wonderfully anxious ward. You’ll only stay this way until the last stroke of midnight, then revert to your natural state, no matter where you are.”
“That’s enough time.” Inko said waterly, wiping her eyes enough to smear her makeup down her face. “That’s more than enough. Thank you. Thank you for everything.”
With a giggle and a flick of her wand, Takeyama fixed Inko’s makeup, then sent her on her way. There was no time to lose. It was nearly time for the ball to begin.
oOo
Inko found Rei and Mitsuki in the palace’s grand ballroom, knocking back drinks and dancing with each other because no man would ever be good enough for either of them, not even the prince himself. They were here for a good time. Tonight was an open bar.
At first neither woman could believe their eyes, not until Inko got flustered and started stammering like she so often did, but in the end the pair were delighted to have their third musketeer with them, and believed every word Inko said about her odd Fairy God Mother.
“Mine let me back in the house one time when I drunkenly locked myself out.” Mitsuki roared, remembering the instance fondly. “Haven’t seen her since but I know she’s keeping an eye on me.”
Inko was shocked at such a revelation. She glanced around, wondering if everyone here was surrounded by a cluster of invisible Fairy God Mothers, each nattering about their wards’ less-than-perfect life choices.
As Rei and Mitsuki wandered off towards the drinks table, leaving Inko alone, she gravitated towards a marble pillar where she could rest and watch the other dancers with interest. Despite her elegant appearance, she was so used to being shy and self-conscious that her position of choice was that of a wallflower. She honestly didn’t know how to act any different.
Just then, trumpets blared to announce the royal family’s arrival. First came Queen Nana, as beautiful as they got. She descended the staircase with a legion of attendees but brushed them aside to speak with any woman that was near, offering them a smile and a wave until she reached her royal throne at the far side. Next, of course, came her friend and advisor, Torino. Though time had withered him down to a height half that of his original size, he still exuded confidence and pride and welcomed the guests like family. Inko found herself jealous at his assurance in himself. He did not seem to care what time had done to him, but took it in his stride.
Perhaps after tonight she would try being kinder with herself. Time took hold of everyone, after all.
Finally the crown prince, Toshinori, arrived. The room erupted with girlish squeals, applause and declarations of love for him. He was dressed in the absolute finest white royal uniform, tailored to contain his gargantuan muscles and stood at a height tall enough to make any woman feel petit. It made Inko’s heart flutter to know he would have no trouble lifting her even if she were normal size.
In a bid to find a place to perch, it seemed Inko’s friends had lost her amongst the crowds. They did not return even after some time. So Inko merely watched the blonde prince as he glided around the room, kissing hands and bowing gracefully to all who approached him. Being the tallest in the room, she could watch him even as women clung to him on ever side.
In a way, she felt sorry for him. Perhaps it was her own feelings, but if she were in his position, she would much rather have room to breathe than suitors invading every piece of her personal space.
Another horn blared, and suddenly every woman in the room flooded the dancefloor towards Prince Toshinori. He smiled and laughed and welcomed them all, and did not seem to mind in the least that they were practically trampling on his feet to get his attention. The horn was a signal that the prince would choose a lady to dance with. Inko stayed back, practically suctioning herself to the column while eager women charge past, shoving each other out of the way.
Really, she thought, it was enough just for her to be here. Her Fairy God Mother had sent her a miracle and her heart was already full to bursting that she was here, surrounded by elegance and dressed like a princess. As soon as the night was over, she would write to her son Izuku to tell him all about her adventures. She knew he would be pleased. He was always telling her to go out and enjoy herself more.
Just as she was thinking about where she had left her writing paper the crowd of women suddenly started to fan out towards her. She wondered what was happening until, to her surprise, she saw Prince Toshinori making his way towards her with the most dashingly handsome smile she had ever seen. She felt her heart flutter as her knees threatened to give way beneath her. He was looking at her. He was looking straight at her with his warm blue eyes.
“Dear damsel, what has you clinging to that column like a gecko?” He asked, his voice both booming and kind. He surely didn’t mean to but his singling-out of Inko caused legions of scorned female eyes towards her. She wanted to answer him but noticed their glares first. How she had hoped being slim and attractive would help her blend in, but by the prince’s efforts she now stuck out like a sore thumb.
“I-I-I—” she tried, but no words would come. Her body was rooted and her face felt clammy, caught under a collectively scrutinising gaze. She could do nothing but beg the prince wordlessly to turn away, to leave her be, to let her breathe. She was flattered and humbled that he would pay her any mind at all but in his presence she felt as though the magic was gone and her body was pudgy and withered once more.
Prince Toshinori, sensing an unease in Inko that he chocked down to nerves, took a stride towards her while extending a hand.
“My dear, I would hate to think of you going the whole night attached to that pillar. If only for a moment, would you please join me in—”
At the moment Inko felt her insides drop, realising the prince meant to ask her to dance, a second miracle occurred. From the other side of the room a familiar voice bellowed out to catch the prince’s attention,
“Oi! Prince Toshinori! You’ve run out of pinot. Can we get some more over here?”
As the women in the room turned to see who dared trouble the prince with such a trivial matter, he gave Inko an apologetic expression then turned to address the voice. The voice, by no miracle but friendship alone, belonged to Mitsuki.
Inko took her chance. She knew Mitsuki didn’t care that one single type of wine was gone – she’d drink absolutely anything as long as it was free. It was a distraction, and Inko wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity. With everyone’s attention diverted she slipped away, heading for the veranda.
Outside the air was cool with enough of a breeze to help Inko’s nerves. She pressed herself against the stone railing, looking out into the gardens. What a mess, she thought. How silly she had made herself look in front of the prince.
She stayed there until the music returned, then spotted the prince dancing with a woman so poised and perfect in the centre of the ballroom. It was better this way, she believed. Rather all eyes be on her anyway.
A short while later, a rather drunken Mitsuki and a more put-together Rei appeared, looking for Inko.
“There you are.” Rei said in her soft voice, coming to hug Inko, knowing what an ordeal that must have been for her.
“Did you like my distraction?” Mitsuki asked, flashing her a lopsided grin. “I’m glad you got the hint. As soon as the prince got more wine he went back to look for you.”
“He did?” Inko asked wistfully. Rei took her by the hand.
“Did you want to dance with the prince?”
Inko’s cheeks reddened
“O-of course.” She said. “But not like that. To make a fool of myself in front of so many people…”
Mitsuki slapped her playfully on the shoulder, a tad harder than necessary thanks to her intoxication.
“Stop being so shy. You’re drop dead gorgeous.”
“For now.” Inko lamented, pulling at the skirt of her dress. Wondering the time, Inko looked up to the clock tower and found it to be only quarter to ten. As both Rei and Mitsuki knew of Inko’s midnight-deal, when they saw her looking skyward they each took her by the hand and tugged her back towards the ball.
“Oh no, I—” she began, but neither would release her hand.
“Come on.” Rei insisted, then Mitsuki took a firmer hold on her arm. “Let’s make these last two hours count, just the three of us.”
O
The night turned out to be as fun as Inko had hoped it would be. With most other women distracted by the prince’s presence, she, Rei and Mitsuki danced the time away together in one corner of the ballroom. It was not a slow waltz like the prince and his partners did, but rather a fun bop like how they had once danced at their children’s’ birthday parties.
Inko smiled and laughed, and twirled to her heart’s content. Rei and Mitsuki took turns disappearing to the drinks table so as not to leave Inko on her own again, fearing something similar to last time might happen should she be left to her own devices.
At quarter-past-eleven a final horn blared to signal the prince’s leave. While Queen Nana and Sir Torino stayed to witness the rest of the party, Prince Toshinori bowed with grace and apologised with regret that, as he had royal duties that he needed to be sprightly for tomorrow he had to retire. Every woman watched him go, including poor Inko who could only wonder what might have been had she had the confidence in herself to dance with him.
Inko danced with her friends a long while more until finally she felt the need for another bout of fresh air, feeling her feet begin to ache.
“Excuse me,” she said politely. “I won’t be long. I’m just nipping outside again.”
Her friends nodded and let her go, with Rei telling her not to stay away for long, unless she wanted to return to a rather too drunk Mitsuki. She promised her friend then made her way back onto the veranda.
Finding her comfortable spot against the stone railings, Inko sighed as she slipped out of her shoes and stretched her toes, staring up to the sky. What a wonderful night, she thought. What a beautiful moon. What a wonderful time she had been blessed with. She looked at her hands, how dainty they were compared to her usual ones, normally calloused from hard work. She span in her dress, feeling the lightest she had ever done. This was a night she would always remember. A night she truly had fun.
“Excuse me, Madam?”
A man’s voice caught her attention. When she looked, she saw a man in a white royal military uniform, although his clothes did not fit him all that well. He was thin and looked ill with sunken in eyes but the gentlest of smiles. It appeared he had come from within the gardens and not the party. Perhaps, she thought, he was on patrol. His uniform suggested he might be part of the royal family’s security.
“I’m sorry,” he said, “I was hoping not to startle you.”
“Oh, no.” Inko said softly. “Please, I’m alright.” She looked back to the sky wistfully. “I’m only here to collect my thoughts.”
The man paused for a moment, watching her look skyward with a twinkle in her eyes. He looked into the party then made the decision to keep her company, coming to stand beside her as he too stared up at the stars.
“Perhaps I can help you arrange them.”
She looked at him and smiled shyly, but thanked him for the offer.
“I never dreamed I would be here tonight.” She said. “I’m usually too shy for these kinds of things.”
The man smiled a knowing smile, turning his attention towards her. She noticed his eyes. They were such a warm shade of blue.
“A wallflower, you might say?”
“Exactly. My son will be shocked when I tell him I came here.”
“If you’ll allow me, I can’t imagine why. You look wonderful tonight. A true bell of the ball, I should say. You would be right to have more confidence in yourself.”
“Oh,” was all she could say, flustered by his compliment. It hurt only a little, knowing such a compliment would not occur again after tonight. “But I don’t usually look like this.”
“No?”
“No,” she admitted, tugging lightly at her dress. “I’m a mother and a housekeeper on any other day.”
The man was quiet for a moment, but as time drifted by his warm smile grew.
“You do not seem to mind being either of those things, my dear.”
She chuckled, surprised by the accuracy of his comment.
“No, not at all. My family is my world. I would climb mountains for my son, but as you might imagine, motherhood takes its toll.”
She was met by another brief silence, in which time the orchestra inside began to play a slow waltz. Finally, the man said with a pensive gaze,
“Appearances are not always what they seem. Looks may change over time, but a kind heart will always stay beautiful.”
Her cheeks flushed pink. She tried to think of a response that wouldn’t make her stammer, but while she did so the man began to cough. It was heavy and raspy, and he leaned against the railing to catch his breath.
“Are you alright?” She asked in alarm, placing a tentative hand on his back.
“I’m fine.” He reassured her, wheezing desperately. “Just an old war-wound acting up. It’s nothing to worry about.”
She was reluctant to believe him.
“I can get you some water?”
“No, no,” he said, and after that his coughing subsided. “But thank you for your concern.”
The pair stayed in relative silence for some time, both enjoying the lull of gentle music and the crisp bite to the air. It was Inko who broke the silence. For some reason she felt at ease around this sickly man. She enjoyed his company in a way that made her forget how she looked or how she would look tomorrow.
“I nearly danced with the prince tonight.” She admitted, chuckling at her lack of confidence. “But I was a wallflower, just like you said.”
“Is that why you fled?” He asked, a strangely sombre tint to his voice. Inko’s cheeks turned pink again.
“Ah, you saw that?” She asked, wondering how many others had noticed her cowardly disappearing act. “Yes. My friend caused a distraction to let me get away.”
Surprisingly, the man burst out in a fit of laughter that came from deep within his belly. It was low and delighted, and Inko almost couldn’t believe that the noise had come from him. She stuttered as her blush deepened.
“What was I supposed to do? I’d have shown myself up in front of everyone, I’m sure.”
“My dear, you need to have more confidence in yourself. Whether or not you make a fool of yourself is irrelevant. What’s important is that you have fun.”
The man suddenly stood to attention, placing one arm behind his back as he dipped low in a bow, then extended his hand towards her.
“So perhaps,” he said, catching her by surprise, “you would care to join me in this dance? Out here there are only the two of us, so let us enjoy this moment of peace together.”
He was so unfathomably gentlemanly. Inko felt her heart flutter like a giddy schoolgirl. Her shyness begged her not to do it, but the woman who longed to waltz at the ball was stronger. With a nervous smile she reached out and took his hand. He took her into his embrace, a hand nestled into her waist as the pair began dancing in time to the sounds from inside.
There was something about him, Inko thought as she looked at his face, something that seemed so familiar. It was never stronger than when she looked at his eyes. They were such a brilliant blue but so kind. She had met him somewhere before, she was sure of it.
“I’m sorry,” she said, smiling as he span her gracefully across the veranda. “I never caught your name.”
Her words made him pause. Only, before he could say anything more, the clock overhead began to chime.
“Oh no.” Inko said with a gasp, realising too late that she had spent all her time away. It was already midnight, far too soon for her liking. “Oh no. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I have to go.”
Just was her luck to have such a wonderful moment ruined. She felt awful for abandoning him so suddenly, but Inko rather worried her dance partner would have a rather turn of opinion about her should he see her true form. She let go of his shoulder and tried to pull her hand away, only he kept hold of her and asked her hurriedly to stay.
“I’m sorry,” she said again, hearing the chimes like a gong in her ears. If only she could get inside. It was too late to hide completely, but if she could get inside she could lose herself among the other women and leave, knowing she had not spoiled such a wonderful man’s opinion of her.
“Please,” he said, sounding dejected. “Don’t leave. I have yet to catch your name, too.”
“I—” she said, trying as politely as she could to wiggle her hand free. “Please I—”
Dong… Dong… Dong.
The final chime rang out. The music inside carried on but Inko stilled, knowing it was too late.
“Please,” she begged softly. “Don’t look at me.”
His hand slipped from hers as the magic receded from her body. Mercifully the dress grew to accommodate her but it hurt no less when she felt the appearance of her love handles or the callouses on her palms.
“Please…”
She covered her face, unwilling to see the look of horror in his eyes at what she had become. If only he would walk away now and leave her to her misery, but for some reason she could not hear his footsteps.
“Madam…” he said after the longest, most painful pause. But she could not bear it. He sounded hurt. He sounded lost. She felt the tears well up in her eyes before she could stop them. For a single night she had been beautiful but that only made the reality hurt her more.
“I’m sorry.” She said. “I’m sorry I lied. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth. I wanted for one night to be pretty. I wanted to have that fairy tale moment, if just for a single second. I’m sorry. I never should have come here. I don’t belong here. I’m so sorry. I—”
His hands grabbed her by the shoulders. He pulled her into the tightest hug. A hug that was kind. A hug that urged her to stop saying such hateful things about herself. A hug that understood.
“Please, my dear,” he said weakly. “Please don’t say you don’t belong here. You do. You belong here just as anyone else does. More so.”
Inko couldn’t stop her tears. She felt embarrassed and ashamed, but even then his words still found a way to reach her. When she finally chose to lift her head, she saw such kindness in his eyes, like he was looking at someone he had cared for all his life.
“Appearances are not always what they seem.” He reiterated. “A kind heart will always be beautiful.
“When I saw you in the ballroom I knew something was amiss. Now that I know who you truly are, I can say with certainty that I was right to ask you to dance.”
“Hm?” Inko said with a sniff, puzzling over the meaning of his words. Letting go of her so that he could stand back, the man took a deep breath then his body began to steam. Then it happened like a lightning strike. One moment he was the thin, sickly man, then the next it was Prince Toshinori stood before Inko.
“Your highness?” She gasped in alarm. But with another quick fizz and a pop, he was back to his sickly self. She was so in shock. She had no idea what to say. Having expected as much, Toshinori came to her, taking both her hands in his.
“My dear, I know more than anyone what it is to be afraid to show your true self.” He raised her knuckles to his lips and kissed them softly as her face, both tear-stained and covered in runny makeup, broke into a tizzied blush. “But if you’ll allow it, I’d like to show you there’s no need to be ashamed. You really are beautiful, through and through.”
She could not believe this man – this wonderfully kind man who she felt so at ease around – was the crown prince himself. She couldn’t believe what he was telling her, but try as her insecurities might, she could not deny the look of affection in his eyes or the way he pulled her close, returning his hand to the rather bumpier curve of her waist.
“I would rather like to finish our dance,” he said, starting to sway her in time to the music while he gave her time to collect her thoughts. “And then, perhaps if you’ll let me, I’d like to give you that fairy tale moment you wanted, and let you live it for the rest of your life.”
