WIP Ask Game

So I was tagged by @xqueenyleach to do this and I figured: Sure, why not.

The rules to this game are simple: You have to post the name of EVERY file in your WIP folder, no matter how ridiculous, how random or out of context it is. Then, people can ask you about the title that interests them the most and you basically give them a snippet of that story, or tell them about it.

Please help me come up with an AU for this Ahiru would look amazing in this outfit asdjkfjasfjdsfds!

I have two ideas??? 

1. Ahiru being this girl who wants to be a Cabaret singer, but she’s trapped being one of the backup dancer to her graceful older sister, “Tutu”.  One day after close, thinking she’s alone, she tries on her sister’s costume and sings under dim lights of the empty stage. As she finishes the final crescendo, she hears the clatter of a red-faced janitor, Fakir, dropping his broom. (Although honestly, I can’t picture her being able to sing???? But let’s just imagine that she can in this AU, or that Fakir is a rare being who likes her voice. Which do you like better?) 

2. A scene from @dasseinhundin ‘s mermaid AU, where after Fakir hears Ahiru sing for the first time, he starts having dreams of her. Where she climbs out of her bucket, and they dance.

Hello Friends! 

So this is something I wrote months ago for @blueberryhope‘s birthday (yes she did get to read it on her birthday...maybe it was the day after. I worked hard on this!) 

This is based on one of her au’s and I wrote it out for her! It was really fun to write and because I wanted to get it to her on her birthday I had to leave some ideas out (think deleted scenes cut for time and not major plot points) 

Summary: It wasn't fair, he was just a boy, but there was nothing she could do as the guard raised the whip high above his head to strike the little boy again until her mother intervened. 

There was not much her mother could do, either... 

But her mother had always been quick on her feet. "My daughter needs a slave. Someone to protect her and watch over her."

Hey, I've been rereading AUW for that 1920s itch (I couldn't put it down again this time too! Soo good). And while I know Ahiru is 19yo, I was wondering what the other main 3 ages are? Thanks!

Hi there! (I love your fanart btw!) :D Here’s my headcanon for how old everyone is in the beginning of AUW:

Duck: 19

Fakir: 23

Mytho: 24

Rue: 22

In hindsight I think I might’ve made Fakir a bit too young. Even if he had sped through university then law school, he still would’ve had to go through all the training associated with becoming a police detective (IIRC, one had to be a patrol or beat cop first before becoming a detective). Problem is, it’s very hard finding specific information related to how to become a police detective in the United States from the early 20th century, so I used what every PT fan loves: Author’s Convenience.

I mean, there are a LOT of factors that go into my thinking I am probably autistic. And there’s a possibility that I don’t have it but have traits that are associated with autism. Either way, there is nothing wrong with being autistic.

But the reason why knowing helps is because society hasn’t really been built with autistic people in mind. Knowing how my autism (if that is what it is) affects me is the first step in figuring out what accommodations I might need so society is a better fit for me. As a result, being told that I most likely have autism has been quite a relief for me.

Since the theme is 'literary allusion' is it okay if there are crossovers or alternate universes? Or is it preferable that it's more Princess Tutu centered (if that made sense)?

Mod teeabee would probably prefer it if there was overall more focus on canon ‘verse across the zine, but you’re right that AUs and crossovers are completely allowed within the theme.

So, AUs and crossovers should be fine, provided the new mods agree with mod teeabee. It would just be preferable if not every artist involved made art based on an AU, if that makes sense.

Literally nobody asked BUT. the main gang as my favorite ice cream flavors is as follows:

Duck is strawberry! Because she's cute, bright, sweet and "simple" lol. Very reliable and easy to like. She's a staple to have around, a must! Has lots of fans and mixes well with others.

Fakir is coffee because when I was little, I thought liking coffee-flavored ice cream made me more grown up and mature than I really was. I was 9. This is peak Fakir-core.

Mytho is blueberry cheesecake because his essence is soft, creamy, and not overbearing. The sweetness feels sincere and natural compared to something like... bubblegum. Homemade is especially nice. And the colors remind me of his Siegfried outfit hehe

And Rue is raspberry and dark chocolate chip. Shes moody, smooth and refined, but a little bitter. This flavor makes me feel like a sullen, old Hollywood starlet, sitting at my vanity and drowning my woes and fears of becoming irrelevant into a tub.

lol my original novels tend to be more unique but with a short story you only have so much time to introduce a new world, and I think the connotations of certain elements like princesses and knights are almost half-characterization themselves, so it is easy to fall back on
