This is my darling Star Kitty. She has always had a few oddities to her fur pattern. We got her at the shelter before I was three, the people said she was already old and had had kittens. I lost her six months ago, and I'm 19 now. She was possibly older than I am. Will you tell me what she was? Her gray is kind of few and far between for a calico, but I just wanted to know. Luckily I have images focusing on her little gray spots!!! (Sorry for the picture spam i just. I loved her a lot. she was my best friend and I didn't know which images to choose bc there are over two hundred on my phone. I would've sent all if I could)

hi!! is there any reason that my tortie has tabby markings exclusively on her tail?

My guess is because that's where there's enough cream for the tabby pattern to visually manifest.

For the warrior cats ask game, how about Goldenflower/Tawnypelt/Bramblestar?

Goldenflower: blue tortie. Right now i prefer solid, but tabby could be good too. She can't be simply cream, because his sons both have black-based colors, and they needed to inherit a black allele from her for that.

Brambleclaw: black blotched tabby. I know some people like the idea of the "tigers" being mackerel, you know, tiger stripes, but the dark tabby description always made me think of blotched.

Tawnypelt: black tortie blotched tabby. I don't really like the solid calico design, sorry honestly i almost feel like the writers didn't know tortoiseshell without white is possible. So Tawnypelt is without white for me. Nobody has white spotting on her direct family tree anyway.

Does anyone know the source? Because I searched high and low and it remains an enigma.

This cat appears to have garnered a lot of attention around May 3rd - 4th, that’s when most of tue reposts are from.

I found the image on a couple of French and Russian sites, so there’s definitely something my phone’s auto translate could’ve missed… but I didn’t get the impression that any of those were the source, they seemed like repost forums.

The earliest iteration I found is this image set of what appears to be the same cat shared by HerbziKal on the subreddit r/RealLifeShinies around the last week of March.

This same set of images were shared on April 8th by mikochen2005 on Imgur, who commented that this is a “Russian Maine” when asked the cats named and “Priceless” when asked this cost.

This also appears to be a repost account but also shared this image set on May 2nd and is the only place I’ve found both full image sets together (at least so far).

All that being said this very interesting Maine Coon is a bonafide chimera, a combination of blue (dilute, recessive) and red (non-dilute, dominant) which should not be able to present simultaneously.
